Voting is now open for MTV News' Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos for 30 Years!

It's up to Britney fans and all MTV.com readers to vote in the first round, where we have pitted 30 of Britney's iconic videos against each other bracket-style to battle it out for the highest honor of being named the Best Britney Video Ever, just in time for Spears' 30th birthday December 2.

The first round of voting is open until Tuesday at 11:59 p.m., at which point the 30 videos will be narrowed down to the top 16. You can vote as many times as you wish and campaign as much as you see fit for your favorite videos to move on to the next round of voting.

Will the classic " ... Baby One More Time" go all the way? Or are we still intoxicated by "Toxic"? MTV News correspondents will weigh in with their picks, alongside celebrities and Britney experts alike.

Since 30 videos is an unusual number to balance a tournament bracket, we have automatically pushed forward Britney's only two VMA-winning videos — "Piece of Me" and "Till the World Ends" — to the second round, where they will no longer be safe from elimination.

Head over the Britney30.MTV.com and vote for your favorite music video in MTV News' Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos for 30 Years.

Don't forget about the lesser-known videos that may not have received much airtime, including "My Prerogative" and "Do Somethin'," since there's something unique about each clip. Make your votes count — and remember, you are voting for your favorite videos, not songs!

Voting for round two begins at 7 a.m. Wednesday and will last all the way through Thanksgiving weekend, closing Sunday at 11:59 p.m.

As of Monday, November 28, we will begin with eight videos, then four, then two, until we announce the winner Friday, December 2 — Britney's actual 30th birthday!

Start voting and keep up with us at MTVNews.com through December to see which clip reigns victorious.

What's your favorite Britney video? Make sure to vote at Britney30.MTV.com or the MTV Newsroom blog, and share your picks in the comments below!

'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Has A 'Global Feeling'

Director Bill Condon calls final 'Twilight' film 'epic,' while screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg promises it will be 'kick butt.'

"Breaking Dawn - Part 1" has officially arrived in theaters, and you know what that means: Let the talk about "Part 2" begin!

MTV News' Josh Horowitz sat down with director Bill Condon and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to discuss what Twi-hards can expect from the conclusion of "The Twilight Saga."

Condon hinted that there will be a significant jump in tone between "Part 1" and "Part 2," a film he described as "epic." "['Breaking Dawn - Part 1'] is a very, very emotional, romantic story in the first half that gets dark and has elements of a horror movie in it," he said, possibly referring to the infamous birth scene.

In "Part 2," Condon said the action will focus on the larger world of vampires, which comes into the conflict with the birth of Bella and Edward's daughter, Renesmee. "The second one: It is truly the meeting of the vampires from around the world, so it has a really kind of global feeling," he said.

Rosenberg promised one thing: action. "The journey of the second film is survival, and it is kick butt. There's going to be some action going on there," she said.

Both Condon and Rosenberg were hesitant to comment on how the second film will end. Condon said he knows how it ends, but wouldn't offer much else, saying only, "It's an ending."

Rosenberg, on the other hand, was more giving, and said the answer lies in what Stephenie Meyer originally wrote. "It's in the book, and it felt right," she said.

Rihanna's Talk That Talk: Five Key Tracks

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 03:53 AM PST

'We Found Love,' 'Watch n' Learn' define singer's sixth album.
By Jocelyn Vena

Rihanna's Talk That Talk might be the defining party album of 2011. Released Monday (November 21), the singer's sixth studio album in nearly as many years is the kind of record a DJ can play straight through at a club, filled with pulsing bangers about all things sexy.

To say the least, it's not an album for those who easily blush. It's hard, grinding and aggressive. Rihanna uses the type of saucy language not often heard on mainstream pop records. Rounding up a slew of A-listers including Calvin Harris, Dr. Luke, Stargate, The-Dream, Ester Dean and No I.D., Rihanna put together a cohesive record about how hot love can get between the sheets.

MTV News' picks for Talk That Talk's five key tracks:

"We Found Love"
One of two Calvin Harris collaborations (the other is the equally club-stomping "Where Have You Been"), "We Found Love" defines this era for the singer, whose album is heavily influenced by dance music and club culture. "WFL" is so big and infectious that it's hard to ignore the strength of this track.

"Cockiness"
Perhaps the most swagged-out track on all of TTT, "Cockiness" is a no-holds-barred, full-throttle song. Produced by Bangladesh, Rihanna relays absolutely everything she wants her man to do once they manage to sneak away and get it on. Full of sirens, thumping beats, tempo changes and sampled noises, "Cockiness" is raunchy — the kind of raunchy you want to dance the night away to.

"Talk That Talk"
Joined by her mentor Jay-Z (who lyrically struts over this track like it's still the "Umbrella" days), this Stargate-produced track is classic Rihanna. Big and hard with just enough brightness, it's the type of song that can get played on both Urban and Top 40 stations. Where "Cockiness" was brazen, "Talk That Talk" allows the sex to live in a place that feels less NSFW.

"Roc Me Out"
Rarely is Rihanna vulnerable on this album, and rarely would that happen on an uptempo jam. On this Stargate track (the third of three), Rihanna displays her signature bravado, but hidden in there is one deep insight into who Ri is on the inside when she confesses, "Take a peek at the girl I hide/ I'll let you in on a dirty secret/ I just wanna be loved."

"Watch n' Learn"
A sort of how-to guide, the playful Hit-Boy track "Watch n' Learn" is all about Ri teaching her man how to love her just the right way. The lyrics are quite sassy, but the melody is just soft enough to make you forget that the track is actually kind of dirty.

'Walking Dead' Actor Shares His 'Secrets'

Jon Bernthal tells MTV News the relationship between Shane, Rick and Lori 'gets more dangerous and more complicated' as season progresses.

Secrets are no fun — unless you're talking about "The Walking Dead." In that case, secrets make for very, very fun television.

Take Sunday night's episode, for instance: Appropriately titled "Secrets," the latest round of "Walking Dead" madness zeroed in on the walkers hidden away in Herschel's barn, unbeknownst to anybody in Rick Grimes' group of survivors, save for Glenn and Dale. That story looks likely to boil over in next week's ominously titled mid-season finale, "Pretty Much Dead Already," while this week's outing pushed another tenuous thread closer to its breaking point: Lori's pregnancy and her infidelity with Shane.

Rick learned both of his wife's biggest secrets in the episode, and he took the news surprisingly well. But one has to wonder how Shane is going to react when he learns that Lori is pregnant and determines that he could very well be the baby's father.

Speaking with MTV News earlier this year, Jon Bernthal chimed in on his character's increasingly fragile mental and emotional stability, indicating that something like Lori's recent revelation will have a profound impact on Shane.

"He's lonely," Bernthal said. "He's not suffering from the kind of loneliness you suffer from when you're far away from the people you love; it's the loneliness you feel when you're right there with them and you can't be with them in the way you want."

Bernthal said he doesn't view the situation between Shane, Rick and Lori as a love triangle. Instead, he sees the characters as members of "a family that's been fractured and cut open by the circumstances."

"The people that Shane loved more than anyone else in the world before the apocalypse are still very much alive and still very much with him, but he'll never be with them in the way he wants to and the way he once was," he explained. "Every relationship — Shane/Carl, Shane/Lori and Shane/Rick — it's tainted and fractured. When you suffer from that kind of loneliness, it brings out the worst in you."

We've already seen the darkness in Shane — you could ask Otis all about it, if he were still alive — but is the worst yet to come? Bernthal said that, yes, this kind of loneliness can bring out "the best" in a man, but for Shane, the rollercoaster ride isn't ending anytime soon.

"I really applaud the writers by making this. ... There's nothing tired about the relationship," he said. "It gets more and more dangerous and more and more complicated as the season progresses. They've given me wonderful stuff to play."

How do you think Shane will react to Lori's pregnancy? Sound off in the comments!

On Sunday night (November 20), the music industry's A-listers gathered inside Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre to celebrate some of 2011's most memorable musical moments. It was a night dominated by chart-toppers like Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez.

Minaj and David Guetta were the first to electrify the stage. The two stars joined forces to get the room jumping with their track "Turn Me On," which transitioned into Nicki's breakthrough hit "Super Bass."

Maroon 5 were the first big winners, taking home Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo or Group. "This is our first one. This is crazy. I think in order to get one of these, you have to have loyal fans," lead singer Adam Levine said.

Next up, Swift nabbed a trophy for Favorite Country Female Artist. After hugging pal Selena Gomez, Taylor excitedly accepted her award wearing a glittering gown. "I want to thank my band and my crew and the fans for filling up stadiums," she said. "And my mom and my dad and my brother who came with me tonight, and my fans who continue to amaze me."

Sean Kingston was onstage to welcome his "true friend" Justin Bieber, whom he noted kept in touch with him continually during his recovery earlier this year. Bieber brought a little Christmas to the stage, performing his Under the Mistletoe song "Mistletoe."

The flurry of performances continued, including one from the Band Perry (who appear on Bieber's UTM) singing their crossover track "If I Die Young." Then 50 Cent took the stage to proclaim the following about Chris Brown: "You haven't seen this guy till you've seen him perform onstage. It's the main event." Brown gave the room a little medley, slowing it down with "All Back" then transitioning into "Say It With Me."

Nicki Minaj took home her first award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist. She was the only girl up against Yeezy and Weezy. "I didn't think I was going to win it," she told the room. "I have to thank God ... and Taylor Swift, wherever you are. I want to thank my Barbz. There's power in your peace. Hold your peace."

Kelly Clarkson performed a big-band-inspired version of her song "Mr. Know It All" before Favorite Soul/R&B Album was handed out to Rihanna for Loud. In a pre-taped message, Rihanna said, "This means a lot to me. I love you guys. Thanks to all my fans."

Enrique Iglesias took the stage with a little help from a marching band to perform his feel-good track "I Like How It Feels" then recalled his performance last year when he once again performed "Tonight."

Jennifer Lopez followed up her fellow Latin superstar, kicking off her performance in a very diva way, complete with a flowing gown and wind machine, before kicking into high gear with "Papi," for which she changed into a sparkly, body-hugging outfit. For her third costume change, Pitbull took the stage with her for "On the Floor."

Lady Antebellum locked in the prize for Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group. Leading lady Hillary Scott said, "We just want to say thank you to the fans. It starts and ends with you."

Adam Lambert made his return to the AMA stage two years after his memorable (and divisive) debut performance, welcoming OneRepublic, who performed "Good Life" and had Bieber bopping his head from the audience.

Then, Minaj was back again, winning Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for Pink Friday. Swift handed it off to her before Minaj said, "This one can actually make me cry. I can't believe this is happening ... just chase your dreams," she told her fans. "Shout out to all the female rappers, past, present and future."

Pitbull was joined by hypeman Lil Jon and Marc Anthony for "Rain Over Me" before Katy Perry took the stage. All decked out in pink, she embraced the sadness of her track "The One That Got Away" by keeping it simple and acoustic.

Immediately after performing, Perry was surprised with a special award of achievement for being the first woman in the history of pop music to have five #1 singles from one album. "Can I just say, thank you so much for letting me be a chameleon this year. I love you so much, and I also love my fans. I want to thank my band and all of the people who came out to see me."

Hot Chelle Rae won for New Artist of the Year before J.Lo took it home for Favorite Latin Artist. "I'm shaking," she said. "I didn't expect to win. It's been a really amazing year in so many ways. It's been up and down. It's been exciting and overwhelming. I'm just grateful for all my blessings."

Mary J. Blige brought some swagger to the stage for "Mr. Wrong" before paying homage to late MC Heavy D. "Rest in peace to my dear friend, the lovable, the great Heavy D. I miss you so much, brother."

The Favorite Soul R&B Female Artist went to Beyoncé, who accepted the trophy from NYC. "AMAs thank you very, very much. I'm so excited about this award because it was voted by all of my fans, and I have the best fans in the world. Actually, you're the only people I want to thank."

"Moves Like Jagger" brought Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera out, and their rollicking rendition of the bouncy party track had Swift and Gomez dancing in the audience. That transitioned nicely into Maroon frontman Levine joining Gym Class Heroes for their performance of "Stereo Hearts," complete with a big boom box behind them.

Drake brought some fire to the stage with his track "Headlines," which had the house going wild, including his Young Money sister Minaj and Swift, who seemed to know all the words to the Take Care track.

Bruno Mars won for Favroite Pop/Rock Male Artist. "I want to thank the fans," he said. "You all mean everything to me. I want to say hi to my family at home in Hawaii."

Daughtry brought power rock to the show with "Back to You," and then Swift took home another award: Favorite Country Album for Speak Now. "I want to thank all the fans for remembering the lyrics and caring about lyrics," she said. "This is so amazing."

Next, will.i.am took the stage with Jennifer Lopez for the premiere of his track "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" for what turned out to be one very eye-popping performance, relying heavily on neon clothes and some assistance from Mick Jagger via video.

Adele won for Favorite Pop/Rock Album for 21, however, it was Swift who took home the big award for Artist of the Year, bringing her career AMA total to 10. "This is one of the craziest things that has ever happened to me," she said. "Thank you so much to the fans. I have no idea. I didn't think this was going to happen. I love you, Selena, my little sister I never had. Oh my God! Thank you for everything."

But that was hardly the end. LMFAO were the show's big finale, and they rocked out with lasers, their party-boy demeanor and lots of smooth dance moves as they hit the stage for "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy and I Know It." Oh yeah: Bieber and David Hasselhoff also hit the stage with the guys. Apparently they really like to shuffle. And wiggle.

'Breaking Dawn' Scores Fifth-Biggest Box-Office Debut

'Twilight' flick's $139.5 million weekend puts it in the record books, with 'Happy Feet Two' at a distant second.

"Twilight" fans raced to theaters faster than Jacob running to stop Bella and Edward's wedding and gave "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" the fifth-biggest opening weekend of all time.

The fourth film in the romantic vampires-and-werewolves phenomenon collected $139.5 million domestically (more than $30 million of which was from midnight showings early Friday) for an estimated $283.5 million worldwide haul.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" stands behind only "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" ($169.2 million), "The Dark Knight" ($158.4 million), "Spider-Man 3" ($151.1 million) and 2009's "New Moon" ($169.2 million) on the all-time opening-weekend scorecard. It's worth noting that the "Twilight" grosses haven't relied on pricier 3-D or IMAX tickets like "Potter" or "Dark Knight." The new movie's numbers were within roughly 2 percent of the "New Moon" franchise best and helped propel the series' overall numbers past $2 billion worldwide.

Of the 54 territories where the movie opened in nearly 10,000 venues, the best market outside North America for "Breaking Dawn" was Robert Pattinson's native U.K., which accounted for $22 million of the worldwide gross. Strong territories also included Russia ($15 million), France ($14.5 million), Australia ($12.2 million), Italy ($12 million), Spain ($11.6 million) and Brazil ($10.2 million), where some of the film was shot.

Director Bill Condon's first "Twilight" movie suffered the worst reviews of the generally critically panned series but collected a so-so "B+" CinemaScore from the fans who rushed out to see it ("New Moon" enjoyed an "A-" CinemaScore while "Eclipse" scored a straight "A"). The acclaimed filmmaker behind critical darlings "Gods and Monsters," "Kinsey" and two-time Oscar winner "Dreamgirls" will helm "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" as well, which adapts the second half of Stephenie Meyer's fourth and final "Twilight" book. "Part 2" is due in theaters next year and will, of course, star Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, alongside the rest of the "Saga" regulars.

"Breaking Dawn - Part 1" cost Summit Entertainment a reported $110 million to produce after tax rebates. By comparison, the first "Twilight" film was made for an estimated $37 million. The "Breaking Dawn" audience was about 80 percent female, according to Summit, but 50 percent of the crowd was older than 25. Comparatively, only 46 percent of the "Eclipse" audience was over 25.

"Happy Feet Two" was a distant second to "Breaking Dawn" over the weekend, earning just $22 million in its debut. The animated sequel suffered from poor reviews and a five-year gap since the original. Last weekend's #1 movie, "Immortals," was #3 with $12.2 million. Adam Sandler's critically reviled "Jack and Jill" was #4 with $12 million. "Puss in Boots" rounded out the top five with another $10.7 million for an impressive $122.3 million gross. The "Shrek" spin-off has enjoyed mostly positive reviews from critics too.

While all other movies at the box office were dwarfed by the success of "Twilight," there was one category where the second-to-last entry in the franchise suffered defeat: per-screen average. "The Descendants," which has already generated Oscar buzz for star George Clooney, opened in just 29 theaters but managed to clear $1.29 million. That's an average of $42,150 per location. "Breaking Dawn," by comparison, was available in 4,061 places, which equates to an average of $34,245 per location. "Descendants" also counts a book (about a man who learns of his wife's affair as she lays in a coma from a boating accident) as its source material. It's only the fifth directorial feature from writer/director Alexander Payne, whose filmography includes "Sideways," "About Schmidt" and "Election."

This weekend, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" will see competition from Jason Segel's spirited and reverential revival of "The Muppets" (which currently boasts a perfect 100 score on film review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes); iconic filmmaker Martin Scorsese's 3-D adventure "Hugo"; and kids' flick "Arthur Christmas," among others. Horror master David Cronenberg's period drama "A Dangerous Method" and Oscar bait "My Week With Marilyn," which stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, open in limited release.

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

Sunday night's (November 20) 2011 American Music Awards were full of onstage collaborations, and one of the most entertaining was will.i.am, Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger's debut performance of "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)."

In between two life-size stereos, Jenny from the Block kicked off the bass-heavy number with the song's chorus line: "You can go hard or you can go home." Shortly into the performance, you could tell this hitmaking crew clearly went hard. Utilizing the pitch-black Nokia Theatre and dancers' lit-up ensembles, will.i.am delivered a complete glow-in-the-dark performance that included floating dancers, a headless will and even a blink-and-you'll-miss-it disappearing act.

Lopez played up her part as featured guest, and even though Jagger was missing from the action, the Rolling Stones frontman did appear via video for his portion of the dance tune. To conclude the number, glowing confetti filled the air.

"T.H.E (The Hardest Ever)" is the lead single from will's forthcoming solo album, #willpower, which is expected to drop next year. Produced by Audiobot, Dallas Austin and will himself, "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" was released on iTunes immediately after the AMA performance. Rich Lee directed the video for the song, which was shot in Los Angeles and London; it is expected to premiere later this month.

Holiday cheer filled the 2011 American Music Awards on Sunday night (November 20) when Justin Bieber took to the stage to perform his festive hit "Mistletoe," from his chart-topping Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe.

Presented by friend and collaborator Sean Kingston, the Biebster began the song atop a high platform as smoke spread below his feet. In an all-white ensemble, the singer strolled from each side of the platform, igniting a string of neon lights. As he crooned his way through the Messenger-produced song, Bieber walked onto lower platforms before making his way onto the main stage.

And it wasn't just JB who lit up with arena, but also the audience. Cameras panned to shots of attendees waving glow sticks.

Bieber took to Twitter over the weekend to hype up his AMA performance, writing, "AMA blocking rehearsal. @dankanter is here. sounds like fun." Kanter, his musical director, echoed similar sentiments about the star's set. "AMA rehearsal. JB is killing it! Just wait until you all see him tomorrow night!!!" he tweeted.

JB has many more stuffers left in his stocking, including appearances on NBC's Christmas tree lighting November 30 and TNT's annual "Christmas in Washington" TV special December 11.

In the past year, Katy Perry has pulled out some show-stopping performances, but the pop titan was all about simplicity when she performed an acoustic version of her latest single, "The One That Got Away" at the 2011 American Music Awards.

Standing on a circular platform, Perry appeared onstage before pink-tinged light beams that appropriately matched her hair. In place of the midtempo tune that is heating up radio airwaves, the singer stripped down the song as she played the guitar and was accompanied by her background band. Mrs. Russell Brand belted her way through the regretful love song while her set turned into a starry sky when the backdrop evolved into a screen of speckled stars.

Upon the conclusion of her number, the pop star was met with a standing ovation as well as a special award of achievement for scoring five #1 singles from Teenage Dream on Billboard's Hot 100, an achievement only equal to Michael Jackson and his 1987 Bad LP.

"Yay! Can I just say, thank you so much for letting me be a chameleon this year," the starlet screamed during her acceptance speech. "I'm very, very, very pleased, and I want to give thanks to my amazing record label, EMI and Capitol. ... I'm about to wrap up my California Dreams Tour, 122 dates, so I want to thank my band and all the people that came out to see me, and all of you guys, 'cause you're pretty cool too!"

This is just the latest treat Perry has offered fans in recent weeks. A little more than a week ago, she dropped the clip for the Dr. Luke and Max Martin-produced tune. The video, which was directed by Floria Sigismondi, takes viewers down memory lane as the pop star recalls her relationship with the one that got away.

Chris Brown Takes It 'All Back' At 2011 AMAs

Breezy performs a pair of F.A.M.E. tunes, also including 'Say It With Me.'

Chris Brown knows how to put on a dance-tastic performance. And that's exactly what the pop&B entertainer did at the 2011 American Music Awards on Sunday (November 20).

Donning a white T-shirt and jeans, Brown began his performance with his slow jam "All Back" alongside his band. With just a microphone stand in tow, the singer twirled around the stage and displayed some rather raw and emotional vocals. While it may have appeared to be a rather basic set, Breezy's performance turned high-tech when the tune came to a close and the stage turned black.

Breezy continued his performance with another F.A.M.E. tune, "Say It With Me." Keeping in sync with a computer-generated backdrop, the singer mirrored some Michael Jackson-esque moves with his four background dancers. As a spotlight followed the singer, CB pulled out an over-the-top choreographed sequence, full of backflips and spins that echoed similar backdrop technology used during Beyoncé's "Run the World (Girls)" performance at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.

Unfortunately for Brown, shortly after the performance, he lost his Soul/R&B Album nomination to ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Even though Brown didn't debut new material during his AMA set, Team Breezy can expect a batch of new tracks from the R&B singer when his new album, Fortune, drops next spring.
