Kim Kardashian Divorce Lawsuit: Comedian Explains

Rob Delaney says Kim should 'reconsider' Kris Humphries divorce.

All this hullabaloo over the news of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' divorce is a little overwhelming.

First, there was the announcement, followed by the fan reactions and support from the Kardashian siblings. Now, there's a lawsuit.

That's right: Concerned citizen/comedian/defender of the sanctity of marriage Rob Delaney explained his logic to MTV News thusly:

"I'm suing Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest and E! Entertainment Television and Comcast for perpetrating what we now know to be a hoax, their marriage," he told MTV News on Tuesday. "It can't be real. I want them to stay married. I want them to stick it out, so as an incentive, I am suing them for monetary damages — but only $18 million, not a lot. That's just what she was paid for the wedding episodes themselves."

Delaney said the idea for the lawsuit has been brewing ever since he started seeing advertisements for Kardashian and Humphries' wedding special on various billboards around Los Angeles.

"I would drive to work every day, and I would see the billboards for the wedding, and they were offensive to me, because they weren't normal billboards; they were these super billboards, where they add extra stuff on and make them larger than normal," he said. "They're on these super billboards with them getting ready to get married like it was some royal wedding, and then for them to immediately try and dissolve it 72 days later — they renewed their vows on 'Ellen' at day 60! What happened in those 12 days? It must have been bad."

Delaney said he thinks the newlyweds-no-more should make a serious attempt to work out their differences.

"I will say, as someone who is married, that you are going to go through periods where you hate your spouse for 12 days — longer," he said. That's like a blip, and then you recover, and you figure it out together and figure out what the problem was and you grow, and these things that seem insurmountable and awful, you realize they made you stronger.

"I want Kim to be happy," Delaney insisted. "I don't hate her. She's a person who deserves happiness, but you have to fight and work for it. As a married man and a dad and an American, I want to make her reconsider. I don't want the money. I mean, I'm going to take the money, but I feel like almost anybody would spend it better [than she would]."

The field of competing couples on the 13th season of "Dancing With The Stars" was trimmed down to five Tuesday night after David Arquette and partner Kym Johnson were eliminated from the show.

Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus, who were the other couple in the bottom two, got to keep their dancing shoes for another go next week.

"This has to be a mistake!" Arquette joked when his name was called. "This is my show! I love all the people I got to know and dance with. This whole production is top-notch, and thank you to all the fans!"

"I'm going to take a lot away from this experience," Arquette said in his goodbye video. " 'DWTS' was an experience of a lifetime. You learn things about yourself you never thought possible."

The latest elimination show was as packed with headlining performers as ever. Teen king Justin Bieber kicked off the show with a lively performance of his hit "Never Say Never" and later returned to the dance floor with Boyz II Men to perform their Christmas collaboration "Fa La La" from his just-released holiday album, Under the Mistletoe.

Bieber and the Boyz weren't the only artists to take the "DWTS" stage Tuesday night: Rising star Christina Perri sang "Arms," while 17-year-old ballerina and cancer survivor Victoria-Rose Viren performed a moving duet in front of Perri.

Other fun performances included the encore dance of the night, the honors for which went to Team Paso Doble (Ricki Lake, Rob Kardashian and Hope Solo), who reprised their "powerful" dance to Evanescence's "Wake Me Up Inside." Seasoned pro Derek Hough also performed a fun routine with fellow pro Allison Holker.

Heading into the eighth week of competition, Lake and Hough are sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard, followed closely by fan favorite J.R. Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff, "dark horse" Rob Kardashian and partner Cheryl Burke, and Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Nickelback's 'Bottoms Up': The Real Party Rock Anthem

Posted: 02 Nov 2011 03:53 AM PDT

We hammer down with the year's most brilliantly unapologetic banger, in Bigger Than the Sound.
By James Montgomery

I don't want to talk about Lana del Ray's lips, chillwave or Drake's feelings anymore. Those topics are all bookish and ultimately pointless, the kind of things debated by folks who enjoy nothing quite as much as the sound of their own voice, discussion points during shift breaks at the co-op or between courses at winter solstice parties. You know, nerd stuff.

No, today, I want to talk about Nickelback, and their stupendous new single "Bottoms Up," a song that is about nothing more than getting totally sh--faced, and one whose brilliance I am unapologetically in awe of.

To the uninitiated, "Bottoms Up" is one of two singles Nickelback released simultaneously last month, in the lead-up to their sure-to-be-massive Here and Now album. It is not the one that features lines like "Hand in hand forever/ That's when we all win," because that's the bruising ballad "When We Stand Together." It is very much the one about consuming every inebriating substance under the sun, a list that includes, but is not limited to: Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's, Black-Tooth Grins — Dimebag certainly would've approved — 80-proof hooch and, of course, "straight gasoline."

In other words, it is the kind of song a band like Nickelback (who, and take this however you wish, seem to write songs only as excuses to finance their latest Can-Am three wheeler) was practically placed on this earth to write. It is not, by any means, a smart song — it is a sublimely stupid one, in which frontman Chad Kroeger growls about wanting to "kick a hole in the sky" and rhymes "bar" with "fire" — mainly because he can — over a bed of snarling, skuzzy riffs and flammable solos (and drums that sound like they were lifted from Eddie Money). It seems destined to take its rightful place alongside tracks like AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" or Ratt's "Round and Round" on strip-club playlists all across this great land. It sounds like it was unearthed from a time capsule buried in 1999 (or 1984), which automatically makes it the most rock-and-roll song released this year.

So why is it brilliant? Well, several reasons spring to mind. For starters, there's the chorus, which goes " 'NOTHER ROUND/ FILL 'ER UP/ HAMMER DOWN/ GRAB A CUP/ BOTTOMS UP!" (CAPS mine, but, I mean, if it were possible to sing in ALL CAPS, Nickelback would certainly do it here.) It's sort of ingenious in a totally not-genius way and will instantly worm its way into your brain. There are the reactions the song gets from folks I've played it for, which run the gamut from "Two minutes in and all I want to do is shotgun a beer" and "This should be the official song of being in a boat on a lake" to "It sounds like Slaughter." There's the fact that I've listened to it something like 467 times since I interviewed the band last week, and it's made me want to do pushups, fight someone, put the hammer down and go to the bathroom. But most of all, it's that its very existence proves that no one knows their audience quite like Nickelback.

Because unlike Coldplay, Linkin Park or Metallica — who are busy making electro albums, albums that reference the Bhagavad Gita and albums with Lou Reed, respectively — Nickelback know better than to mess with what got them here. "Bottoms Up" is an unabashed ode to boozing it up, keeping the good times rolling and setting things ablaze. It is precisely the kind of jam their fans want to hear them making, the soundtrack to Saturday night and a million tailgate extravaganzas. It is big and bold and brash and ballsy, because that's exactly the kind of band Nickelback are. There will be no Rihanna cameos, thank you very much.

And I'm not just making this up, either. Kroeger told me as much when I sat down with him, admitting that "Bottoms Up" may very well be their masterwork.

"It's a drinking anthem. I mean, it's harder to write those songs than it is to write those social-awareness type songs — it really is. Some of the stuff's got to be a little tongue-in-cheek. There's got to be some clever stuff there, you know, and you've got to be descriptive. But when you get done listening to it, you need to have the feeling of just wanting to grab a bottle of Jack. And I think we got there, because we'd bring friends over all the time, and it was just like, 'You are now a test subject! Hit play; turn it up nice and loud.' And the song's over, and they'd be like, 'I want to drink. I want to drink something right now.' And we were like, 'Yes!' "

Yes, indeed. Because listening to "Bottoms Up," I am struck with no other notion quite as much as "I want to drink. I want to drink something right now," which means that in every conceivable way, the song is a success. Forget LMFAO and all their DayGlo excess; Nickelback don't need that crap to make a "Party Rock Anthem." You may hate them, but you cannot discount their brilliance — not any more. "Bottoms Up" is the kind of slammer no other band is capable of making, mostly because the bands that were making them no longer walk this earth. It is a market-tested, precision-guided party, with no hangover in sight. Because NB are smart enough to leave the headaches to the brainy folks. They just wanna rock. And drink. A lot. Hammer down, now and forever.

Immortal Technique Channels The '1%' On The Martyr

Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables

Headliner: Immortal Technique

Key Cameo: "Angels & Demons" (featuring dead prez and Bizarre Royale)

Essential Info: Don't get Immortal Technique's message confused with his ability to rap.

The Harlem, New York, MC made his name as one of hip-hop's most powerful political voices. With his Revolutionary album trilogy, Tech has spoken out through his music against government corruption and corporate greed, but on his latest mixtape, The Martyr, he wants to make it clear that while his message is still strong, his music is equally mighty.

"When people think of Immortal Technique, they automatically assume that it's going to be something incredibly aggressive or violent or something very political," he told Mixtape Daily.

On The Martyr, Tech doesn't abandon his socially conscious edge; instead, he enhances it with new song concepts and high-powered guest appearances. Chuck D, Killer Mike and Brother Ali collaborate on "Civil War," a dramatically paced track on which Tech and company attempt to dead the infighting between all oppressed individuals. Tech continues to raise the bar on "Young Lords" with Joell Ortiz and Pumpkinhead, with the MCs embodying the spirit of the 1960s pro-Puerto Rican revolutionaries. He also links with dead prez on "Angels & Demons."

"It's a very powerful, very violent song, but it talks about the reflection of what other parts of the world see and what would happen if there was really that type of violent reaction to repression here in this country," he said of the track, which was produced by DJ Green Lantern.

One of the tape's chief standouts is "Rich Man's World (1%)." On it, Tech — who has been heavily involved in the Occupy Wall Street movement — rhymes from the respective of the wealthiest 1 percent of America's population. "I basically rhyme from the perspective of someone who is richer than the richest rapper. This is how I see the world."

On the bouncy track, Immortal spits, "Yacht on the ocean, coasting with the sails out/ Hey, America, thanks for the bailout," with tongue-in-cheek wit.

"It's just funny," he said. "I like to inject humor into something, because if everything is such a serious, 'the world is crumbling, revolution, blood in the street' [topic], then music becomes one-dimensional. And even though I make music that might be different from what you find in the commercial mainstream, I don't want it to be one-dimensional."

Kim Kardashian On Divorce: 'I Married For Love'

'It just didn't turn out to be the fairy tale I had so badly hoped for,' she blogs about marriage to Kris Humphries.

It seems like everyone is sharing their thoughts and theories about Kim Kardashian's short-lived marriage to basketball player Kris Humphries, and on Tuesday night (November 1), so did the reality starlet herself.

Taking to her blog, the Kardashian sister posted a lengthy letter, in which she thanked her supporters, refuted tabloid reports and. most importantly, defended her relationship.

"This is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to write," the letter began. "I see all of the support and I am so thankful for my fans, friends and family who are helping me through this difficult time."

Kardashian explained that she's doing her best to ignore the constant media speculation surrounding the shocking announcement, stressing her heartfelt reasons for marriage.

"I am trying not to read all the different media reports but it's hard not to see all the negative ones. First and foremost, I married for love. I can't believe I even have to defend this," she wrote. "I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show! I share so much of my life on a reality show, that contemplating whether to even film my wedding was a tough decision to make, and maybe it turned out to not be the smartest decision. But it's who I am! We filmed Kourtney giving birth, Khloé getting married, break ups, make ups, our best moments and our worst moments. These were all real moments. That's what makes us who we are. We share, we give, we love and we are open!"

After admitting her indecisiveness about letting E! cameras inside her lavish wedding ceremony in August, Kim elaborated on why she was so intent on following her heart, saying, "Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a hopeless romantic! I love with all of my heart and soul. I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed in to something too soon. I believed in love and the dream of what I wanted so badly. I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn't get off when now I know I probably should have. I got caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn't know how to and didn't want to disappoint a lot of people."

Towards the end of her blog, the TV personality acknowledged her courage in dealing with the split and confessed she "never had the intention of hurting anybody."

"I accept full responsibility for my actions and decisions, and for taking everyone on this journey with me. It just didn't turn out to be the fairy tale I had so badly hoped for," she shared.

The brunet beauty also slammed reports that she has earned millions of dollars from the 72-day marriage -- even revealing plans to donate her wedding-gift money to charity.

"These reports are simply not true and it makes me so sad to have to even clarify this," she continued. "I'm so grateful to everyone who took the time to come to my wedding and I'll be donating the money for all the gifts to the Dream Foundation."

Kardashian concluded her post on a touching note when she brought up advice she received from her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.: "I'm sorry if I have hurt anyone, but my dad always told me to follow my heart and I believe now that I really am."

WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — If you tuned in to MTV's second O Music Awards on Monday night, you were treated to a truly "offbeat, outrageous, online" experience, as promised. We had star presenters, surprise award recipients and a series of killer live performances, headlined by Swedish sparkplug Robyn.

MTV News caught up with the "Dancing on My Own" singer immediately following her showstopping set in the heart of the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival to see what she thought of the crowd.

"I would sum it up like this," she said, pointing to a broken blood vessel in her right eye. "That's how much I'm doing this. I'm doing it all the way! [The show] was not like doing a TV show; it was a concert, in parts. It was weird going on and off, but it was really fun."

"She was on fire — and I know fire," one reveler dressed as the devil told us, holding up his pitchfork.

"Everyone in West Hollywood loves Robyn," added another partyer, dressed as "Sleeping Beauty" villain Maleficent. "I'm pretty sure half these people here came just to see her."

"I had no idea she was going to be here; it was such a surprise," gushed a group of lucky concert attendees. "We had so much fun!"

"It's Halloween and people are dressed up, so yeah, it's fun," Robyn said of her costumed crowd.

"Her energy is so intense, it's so awesome. She got the crowd so pumped and it's amazing out here," added the man dressed as the devil.

"It doesn't get any better than having Robyn play down the street from your own house," said one lucky West Hollywood resident.

"Her music just makes us want to dance. The gays love to dance," quipped one of four scantily clad Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

"She's high-energy," added a fellow turtle. "She's like the artistic everyman; she represents everybody."

The O Music Awards 2 have wrapped, but you can catch up on all the winners, performances and other show highlights on OMusicAwards.com.

It takes a special guy to keep up with the Kardashians. Lamar Odom and Scott Disick have certainly found their place among the glamorous Hollywood family, but it wasn't as easy for Kris Humphries.

When news broke that Kim Kardashian had filed for divorce from the basketball player Monday, after only 72 days of marriage, MTV News decided to look back at a June interview with Kim's sisters, Kourtney and Khloé, to get some insight into what may have gone wrong with the couple.

"Doing our family show is like [the best]," Khloé told MTV News in June about Kris joining "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" as well as the family itself, hinting that there was some heated discourse between her and Kim about the nature of her relationship with Kris. "We love doing it, 'cause we're all together all the time, so we definitely feel like we're back and in full effect.

"The first episode is, you get to really see how Kim and Kris first started dating," Khloé added. "And especially Kim and I have a lot of arguments about it, because she comes to my house and I have a lot of old memorabilia of her old exes. She doesn't like that, but I don't know who Kris is, so I don't know. I feel like I didn't get the memo to change the pictures, so there's a lot of feuding going on."

Khloé is no stranger to whirlwind romances. She married her husband, Lamar Odom, after only a month of dating. Regardless of her own relationship history, Khloé was still floored by Kim's decision to marry the basketball player so soon into their relationship.

"Mine was insanity in the best way ever," Khloé said of her quickie engagement to Odom. "But [with] Kim's, we were totally surprised. I mean, because I had been working so much, and Kris lives in New Jersey, I've only met him not even a handful of times. We were at a family dinner, and she walks in, and she's like, 'I'm engaged,' but we didn't even know if it was a joke.

"But that's the cool thing about this whole season: You do get to see Kim [and Kris] kind of from the beginning of the relationship to the engagement," Khloé continued. "Obviously, no one knew in between what was going to happen, so it's cool that they have it documented for their future."

During the chat, Khloé pointed out that trying to find a place among the Kardashians isn't always easy. "I mean, we're still a family, so you're going to see what normal families do. There's sibling rivalry, but it's different this time around, because we all have our own families," she explained. "So trying to combine three outside [men into] such a strong family is really hard, and the men, I think, sometimes want to rip their hair out. Thank God Lamar is bald. But it is hard to balance all that. It is always going to be that family dynamic that's always the same. Of course, there's always the fighting and the drama."

As more news breaks from the Kim/Kris split, Khloé and the rest of the Kardashian kids expressed their support for Kim, pledging to stick by their sister.

Lasting much longer than Kim Kardashian's 72-day marriage, Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and Zooey Deschanel announced their separation after two years of marriage.

Deschanel's representative confirmed the news to Us Weekly on Tuesday afternoon (November 1). A source described the split as "mutual and amicable." The insider added: "There was no third party involved."

Gibbard and Deschanel were first introduced by their mutual manager three years ago. In September 2009, the pair tied the knot near Seattle after dating for a year. According to People, Gibbard pulled out all the stops for his proposal with a three-carat diamond and platinum Neil Lane ring.

In a recent interview with New York magazine, Gibbard spoke about his initial meeting with his wife. "I was just awestruck that she was even talking to me," he admitted.

Throughout the year, both parties have had a busy work schedule, with Death Cab for Cutie dropping their seventh studio album, Codes and Keys, in May, and Deschanel working on her Fox sitcom "New Girl."

Sometimes the fame can be too much — just ask Young Jeezy and T.I.

On the Snowman's new J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-produced single "F.A.M.E.," he and Tip expound on the pressures of being in the limelight. "I wanted to let them know 'Fake-Ass Mother----ers Envy,' because they really do, and I just wanted to go in like that," Jeezy told MTV News on the set for the song's video in Atlanta over the weekend.

In his first verse, Jeezy addresses the constant delays of his TM 103 album when he spits, "I bet you feel like the whole world hatin' on you/ Well what's the holdup? The whole world waitin' on you."

For Jeezy, the single is a departure from his usual trap-based material. "The song to me meant a lot, because I don't normally talk about how I feel and what's going on in my world," he said.

T.I. has been going through his own trials and tribulations. In September, he was released from prison after violating his probation in 2010. Tip used "F.A.M.E." as a conduit to address his innermost feelings. "Another year in prison, promise this is it for me/ Tryna make it through the storm, should be makin' history," he rhymed.

"It's an honest interpretation of where I am mentally and how I feel about others volunteering their opinion on my circumstances without having full knowledge," T.I. said of his verse. "I felt that it was appropriate when I listened to it. It musically said everything that I wanted to say verbally."

Adele's Vocal Surgery: An Expert Weighs In

'I always liken them to athletes ... even athletes get hamstring pulls,' director of Yale Speech & Swallow Center says of professional singers' vocal issues.

Late last week, after months of battling voice issues and tour cancellations, Adele announced that she would undergo throat surgery to repair her hemorrhaged vocal cords.

Though the extent of her procedure is unknown, vocal surgeries are fairly common among professional singers (Steven Tyler had surgery to repair a popped blood vessel on his vocal cord in 2006, and just last week, Kiss' Paul Stanley underwent a similar procedure), but that doesn't mean Adele's injury isn't a serious matter. Quite the opposite, in fact.

"Given that it's a hemorrhage, that means it's blood, it's actual blood that's weighing the larynx down," Dr. Nwanmegha Young, director of the Yale Speech & Swallow Center, told MTV News on Tuesday (November 1). "You have this thing that flutters against the pressure you produce in your lungs, and if it weighs down and gets heavier, it doesn't flutter as well, so you don't get that sound that comes out."

Dr. Young, who specializes in working with professional singers, said that he's seen plenty of artists who have dealt with the same sort of issues Adele is suffering through, and usually, the path that led to their injury is the same.

"[Often] it begins with laryngitis, which is inflammation of the voice box, and you can get swelling of the vocal cords too, and that's bad because it doesn't vibrate very well," he explained. "And somebody who's a singer sometimes tends to push through that, and when they push through that, they cause extra pressure, which can lead to hemorrhage. So it's kind of a continuum: You strain your voice, you get swelling, the swelling causes you to strain more, you put more pressure there, and then these vessels can rupture."

In June, Adele canceled a spate of shows due to a bout with laryngitis, and she scrapped even more dates in September due to "a severe cold and chest infection." Though doctors ordered her on strict vocal rest, Young believes the damage was already done.

"From what I read, she had a bout of laryngitis, she was probably told to rest at that point, and she may have not rested enough, kept going, and she pushed through that and caused more pressure and strain and she just hemorrhaged, and now she has to rest — there's no choice," he said.

Though he can't speak specifically to Adele's upcoming surgery, he's performed enough procedures to have a good idea of what she'll have done to repair her hemorrhage.

"People with repetitive hemorrhages, sometimes what [surgeons] do is go in and prophylactically seal those vessels off, because they have a tendency to leak again," he said. "So you'll go in, you'll take a laser or some kind of cauterizer, and you'll spot and seal them off. That's what I'd assume, since she's had repeated hemorrhages."

Young said the average recovery time from vocal surgery is "one to two months" and that, in the long term, Adele's voice should be just fine. But moving forward, she'll have to continuously monitor her condition, because as a professional singer, her vocal workload is something the average person just can't comprehend.

"It's a huge vocal load they have. I always liken them to athletes ... these muscles are very small, they tend to fatigue out quickly, and a lot of these are endurance athletes in a sense; they're able to do it repetitively," he said. "But even endurance athletes get hamstring pulls or whatever, and that's what happens with singers. And the problem is, a lot of them have pressure to keep going; they may have commitments to tour for a month or two, and this happens, and some of them tend to push through it, and when you push through it, that can lead to more trouble."

'American Reunion' Trailer Gets Gang Back Together

Kevin, Stifler, Finch and even Jim's dad get in on the action in latest sneak peek.

After a red-band trailer showed us just how little things have changed for Jim and Michelle and how they spend their free time, a brand-new theatrical trailer for "American Reunion" fills us in on what the rest of the gang has been up to.

And by "the rest of the gang," we mean absolutely everybody. The whole cast from the original film is back to celebrate their class reunion at East Great Falls High, even the castmembers who were missing from the third installment, 2003's "American Wedding." (We're looking at you, Chris Klein.)

The trailer finds the characters we used to know as horny high school kids well into their adult years, and not all of them are handling the change well. From the looks of the trailer, Jim and Michelle's formerly fiery sex life has taken a backseat to raising their young son, Kevin now plays homemaker, and Stifler is still Stifler. Finch coolly rides in on a motorcycle, and Jim's dad is three years' single and looking for some company.

But it wouldn't be an "American Pie" movie if things didn't get out of control, and they inevitably will. The boys promise to make the reunion "their bitch," which says more than enough for what they have planned.

Check out the trailer for an opportunity to revisit or at least catch a glimpse of all the returning characters and find hints for the shenanigans we'll see when the movie, which hits theaters in April of next year.

Girls' Generation: Five Things You Didn't Know

Posted: 01 Nov 2011 03:27 AM PDT

'There's nine girls, but our teamwork is more amazing than our choreography,' Tiffany tells MTV News.
By Christina Garibaldi

Nine-member Korean Pop group Girls' Generation are making a name for themselves in the U.S. The girls recently played an "epic" Madison Square Garden show, they're releasing their first Stateside single later this month and their new music video for "The Boys" has nearly 15 million YouTube views after just two weeks.

But although the group has had enormous success overseas, they're still relatively unknown in America, which is why when MTV News sat down with Girls' Generation (a.k.a. Soshi or SNSD to their international fans), we asked them to tell us what they thought new followers needed to know about them.

"We have impeccable choreography, in-sync choreography," Tiffany said.

"Our music is upbeat, lively and energetic," Sooyung added.

Indeed, their knack for upbeat, radio-friendly songs has earned them success like the 2009 hit "Gee," which is the longest-running #1 single on the Korean Broadcasting Charts. And with chart-topping songs and a devoted fanbase in countries like Korea and Japan, the group credits their success to one key thing: "Teamwork."

"There's nine girls, but our teamwork is more amazing than our choreography," Tiffany explained. "Beat that!"

Music, however, isn't the girls' only talent: It turns out they're also multilingual. "We have members that speak English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean," Jessica told us.

And if you wondered whether a girl group made up of nine women means navigating clashing personalities or even catfights, think again. According to the ladies, while things aren't always perfect, the singers are as close as sisters.

"We grew up together starting earliest age 10 and latest age 15, 16," Tiffany said. "We've grown up and we're one big happy family," she added. "We know when to be around each other, when not to be around each other and as the time passes, we really appreciate each other's presences and teamwork."

Girls' Generation probably won't be getting a break from each other anytime soon as they're hoping to embark on a world tour, which Jessica said could kick off "maybe sometime soon, maybe next year."

"Since K-pop is becoming a movement, we're all looking forward to making this not into a movement, but for us to become part of a genre or become music here as well," Tiffany said. "We definitely want a world tour. ... Be careful, world, we're on the way!"

Since banding together earlier this year, the members of Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group have shown a tremendous amount of support for one another. With Wale dropping his sophomore album, Ambition, Tuesday (November 1), MMG artists have extended love to their labelmate, even changing all of their Twitter avatars to Wale's LP cover art. To take things a step further, Meek Mill promised to release his highly anticipated remix of "I'ma Boss" on Tuesday if enough people tweeted about Wale's album.

"The 'I'ma Boss' remix: We gonna do a Twitter campaign; you gotta tweet Wale's album. If we get enough tweets of Wale's album, we're gonna drop the remix on 'em," Meek told MTV News on Friday after performing at the Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia.

"I was working on my verse yesterday in the studio," Meek teased of the remix, which boasts features from T.I., Lil Wayne and others: "I put Tip's verse on the beat, we got Khaled in there somewhere, we got Wayne in there, Swizz [Beatz]."

Mill's original "I'ma Boss" first surfaced toward the end of 2010. It was a slow build, but the Rick Ross-assisted track began to catch fire in May after it was included on MMG's Self Made Vol. 1 compilation. The track went on to become one of the hottest rap songs of the summer, and a remix was in order.

In an August interview with Vibe, Meek said he'd hold the release of the record so he could get a verse from T.I., who was incarcerated at the time. "If I hold the 'I'ma Boss' remix long enough, I might throw Tip on that — have him get out to the hottest song of the year," he said. "He ain't have no problem looking out for me, and I don't have no problem doing it for him."

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Will Not Testify

Posted: 01 Nov 2011 03:14 AM PDT

Jury in the involuntary manslaughter trial has been dismissed until Thursday.

With both sides done questioning witnesses, the end is in sight in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's former doctor, Conrad Murray. On Tuesday (November 1), the judge in the case asked Murray whether he will testify at the trial, and the doctor said he had chosen not to.

Key Testimony
» The main action Tuesday involved Judge Michael Pastor asking Murray if he had decided whether he would testify in the case. "My decision is that I will not testify in this matter," Murray told the judge.

» CNN reported that putting Murray on the stand would have constituted a huge risk for the defense team, especially given the withering cross-examination Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney David Walgren unleashed on defense witness Dr. Paul White on Monday.

» White wrapped up his testimony Tuesday morning, the day after he received a $1,000 contempt-of-court citation for ignoring repeated warnings from Judge Pastor not to refer to two personal conversations he'd had with Murray that were previously ruled inadmissible in court.

» Prosecutors briefly recalled their star witness, propofol expert Dr. Steven Shafer, to the stand Tuesday to address some issues raised by Dr. White. Afterward, following 22 days of testimony, Judge Pastor dismissed the jury until Thursday morning, when both sides are expected to present their closing arguments.

Murray, who was being paid $150,000 a month to care for Jackson, had pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter and is now facing four years in prison. But new sentencing laws in California aimed at mandatorily reducing state prison overcrowding mean that, as a nonviolent offender with no prior record, he could be sentenced to county jail instead. If that is the case, his sentence could be reduced to two years and, because of overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail, he may be allowed to serve the majority of his time under supervised house arrest.

'Twilight' Fan-Favorite Moment #4: Taylor Lautner's Abs

We're counting down your favorite 'Twilight Saga' moments before Rob, Kristen and Taylor join us live Thursday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV!

Twilighters are just days away from the premiere of "MTV First: Breaking Dawn - Part 1", which goes live Thursday on MTV at 7:56 p.m. ET with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner unveiling a previously unreleased clip from the fourth installment of the "Twilight" franchise. Following MTV's special, the three stars will sit down for an exclusive Q&A on MTV.com.

Of course, in anticipation of Thursday's MTV premiere, devoted Bella, Edward and Jacob followers are one step closer to learning what might be the #1 fan-voted "Twilight" moment.

We already know that the "Eclipse" tent scene, showing the friendly rivalry between Edward and Jacob, sits at #5, and a particularly sexy scene stands out as our next fan favorite. So, what made the cut at #4? Well, it happens to be Lautner's reveal of his very cut abs in "New Moon."

Long before that scene was captured on film, there had been fan chatter about whether a teenage Lautner could beef up enough to keep his part of werewolf Jacob Black in the second installment of the "Twilight Saga." Determined to prove to naysayers that he had the muscle for the role, Lautner hit the gym and showed that he had the ambition, drive and physical bulk to keep the role.

"I have been working out," Lautner told MTV News in December 2008. "I've been working out since the day we stopped filming 'Twilight.' I just weighed myself today; put on 19 pounds [and] guaranteeing [director Chris] Weitz 10 more by filming."

All the promises and hard work paid off. The reveal of his admirable physique in the movie remains a fan favorite as our voters revealed. And, four movies in, it's just as fun (and sexy) to watch the chivalrous Jacob strip off his shirt, just to assist an injured Bella.

Be sure to tune in to "MTV First: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," which kicks off Thursday, November 3, on MTV at 7:56 p.m. ET, followed by a Q&A with Kristen, Rob and Taylor on MTV.com!

Kim Kardashian's siblings have already spoken out about her split from Kris Humphries, and now mom and manager Kris Jenner is weighing in on the very public divorce.

"Kim obviously had to make a really tough decision yesterday, and it's been really, really hard on her, for sure," Jenner told MTV News' Sway Calloway when she stopped by his "Sway in the Morning" radio show on SiriusXM's Shade 45. "But as her mom, she knows me and she knows her family well enough to know that no matter what, I'm there, we're all there for her through thick and thin. I told her: You have to follow your heart."

While the family is weathering the breakup storm, Kris had one message for the haters out there: Kim married for love, not profit. "The misconception that's so annoying in the media and the press is that the wedding was a sham and she did it for the money," Kris said. "Kim didn't make any money off of this wedding. No. She didn't make five cents off of the wedding.

"She spent millions of dollars of her own money on a wedding," she continued. "And you know our network was very generous and filmed the show and obviously gave her a salary, all of us our shooting fees and all that, but it's not like we walked away with millions of dollars jingling in our pockets; absolutely not. ... It's tough when you have all the haters who have these licenses to say whatever they want and people don't know the facts. ... And people don't know the facts. So get your facts straight, people, before you start judging."

Kim's Cover Up: How The Tabloids Got It Right

While the divorce has seen its fair share of criticism, Kris noted that Kim's fans have stuck by their girl through her darkest hours. "We have an intimate relationship with our fans and viewers that we really respect and love, and so many people have been so amazing and supportive," she said.

So will Kris J. miss Kris H., who has vowed that he's "willing to do whatever it takes to make it work"?

"Well, he's a great guy," she shared. "I like Kris, and he's a good person, and they needed to do what they needed to do. So we'll see what happens."

Tick Tock: The Shortest Celebrity Marriages Ever

The bottom line, according to Mama Kardashian, is that, in the end, everything will work out for her little girl. "I told Kim: You're not the first person who's ever gotten a divorce, and guess what? You're not going to be the last," she said. "Unfortunately, this was short, and we feel bad, but, you know, she's going to be OK."

Catch MTV News' Sway Calloway on "Sway in the Morning," on SiriusXM Radio's Shade 45, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon ET.

Justin Bieber Beats Lady Gaga In YouTube Race

Bieber becomes first artist to achieve 2 billion YouTube views, one year after Gaga won the race to 1 billion hits.

One year ago, Lady Gaga bested Justin Bieber in the race to 1 billion YouTube views, becoming the first artist to reach the plateau and establishing herself as the queen of social media in the process.

Well, now it's Bieber who reigns supreme, blowing by Gaga to become the first artist to rack up 2 billion YouTube views, according to social-media stats service Famecount.com. Bieber set the mark on Monday, thanks in no small part to his 1 million official YouTube subscribers, who help his YouTube site average nearly 94 million views a month.

Bieber, of course, began his career as a YouTube sensation, after videos of the then-12-year-old singer tallied millions of views and caught the attention of manager Scooter Braun and Usher. For most of 2010, he and Gaga jockeyed for position atop the YouTube charts, as the clips for "Baby" and "Bad Romance" battled back and forth to be the most-watched music videos on the site.

Gaga also became the first artist to have her music videos break the 1 billion mark in total online views in March 2010, and nipped Bieber in the race to 10 million Twitter followers in May of the same year.

And while Bieber is now the first artist to amass 2 billion YouTube views, he still trails Lady Gaga in overall online clout. According to Famecount, Mother Monster still holds a sizable lead over Bieber in total Facebook fans (44 million to 37 million) and Twitter followers (15 million to nearly 14 million). Both Bieber and Gaga trail Eminem and Rihanna in terms of overall Facebook fans: Em counts 48 million fans, while RiRi has 46 million.

Drake Debuts New Tracks With Lil Wayne And T.I.

Weezy-featuring 'The Motto' and T.I.'s 'Headlines' freestyle unveiled on L.A. radio Monday.

With just two weeks until he releases his sophomore album, Take Care, Drake blessed fans in L.A. with new music when he debuted "The Motto" (featuring Lil Wayne) and T.I.'s version of "Headlines" on Power 106 Monday night.

"The Motto" is believed to be Take Care's last bonus track, though a track list on Zune's website has the song as "Untitled."

Regardless of where it will end up and how it will be placed, the Weezy-assisted song is equipped with a deep rolling bass and staccato drums — a real party starter. From the first few bars, Drake throws it up for his YMCMB fam and responds to Luther Campbell's claim that non-Miami natives Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled should pay tithes of some sort considering that they now live in the city. Drake throws a not-so-subtle nod to the 2 Live Crew legend's jabs spitting, "Tell Uncle Luke I'm out in Miami too/ Clubbin' hard, f---in' women, there ain't much to do/ Wrist bling, got a condo up on Biscayne ... ain't sh-- change."

Drake also pays homage to late Vallejo, California, rapper Mac Dre, who was gunned down seven years ago Tuesday (November 1). "I'm in the building and I'm feeling myself, rest in peace Mac Dre/ I'mma do it for the Bay, OK," Drizzy respectfully spits. For the final verse, Wayne utilizes his usual free-associative rhyme pattern with lines like "Talk stupid, off with ya head/ N---a money talks and Mister Ed" and "Ain't sh-- sweet, n---as on the streets like hookers."

For his second premiere of the night, Drake unveiled T.I.'s "Headlines" freestyle. As soon as the beat drops, T.I. makes the beat his own, adding an original flow to the popular beat. "I ball all night, go hard all day, fall deep up in your broad all day," he starts off his verse. "I liked the record and it was spazzin', and I felt like, 'Let's see what I can add to it," T.I. told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway about his version of "Headlines" when he visited his "Sway in the Morning" radio show on Shade 45 in October.

Since being released from prison in September, T.I. has gotten on a number of high-profile rap songs like Future's "Magic," the Throne's "N---as in Paris" and now Drake's "Headlines," and while each freestyle has been well-received, Tip admits that he wasn't exactly commissioned to jump on the tracks. "None of these people approached me. I did it and got with them [after] and let them know that I did it."

Kelly Clarkson Says Breakup Songs 'Scare Men Off'

Posted: 31 Oct 2011 11:25 PM PDT

'I love a feisty song,' she says of her new album, Stronger.
By Christina Garibaldi

Kelly Clarkson is doing what she does best on her fifth studio album: delivering powerful pop breakup anthems. Stronger has several feisty songs that will help any girl get over a broken heart, yet Clarkson told MTV News she wasn't channeling her own breakup woes for inspiration.

"A lot of times, if I'm writing it ... a lot of people think that's about a guy; it's not actually about that. It's more about my work environment," Clarkson said. "I write 'metaphorically speaking' a lot. Sometimes it's not always about a guy; I just end up writing it more that way because it's better for mainstream radio. I actually haven't dated in a while, so there's no breakup song for me on there."

With hit songs like "Since U Been Gone," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Walk Away," "Never Again" and, most recently, "Mr. Know It All," Clarkson has become known as a 'Breakup Anthem Queen', a title she doesn't mind having.

"I love a feisty song. I like to be sassy. That's usually a breakup song," Clarkson said. "It's really in your face."

And even though Clarkson isn't revealing any personal heartbreak on this album, it doesn't mean she hasn't been scorned by a boyfriend in the past.

"I have been through one [breakup] that was real crappy," Clarkson said. "I think that'll last me for a lifetime, so I'm good. That was enough sorrow for one year. So I've been through it enough to where if I have a song, I can sing about it and I know the experience."

But the experience wasn't all bad for Clarkson; it seems this former flame was an inspiration for many of her songs.

"He was just a really loser guy and that kind of whole situation. I was like, 'Oh, I didn't pick very good — oops!' Just the environment, I think, as a whole wasn't a healthy situation," Clarkson recalled. "I don't know what was wrong with me. I was never in love with him. We're completely different. I don't even know why. I think that is how lonely you get sometimes, when you're like, 'Well, you don't look so bad.' That was bad, but I got a lot of songs out of it!"

So could this guy be to blame for Clarkson's single status? "I'm convinced that I scare all men off," Clarkson joked. "I date a lot of musicians as well, and they write about relationships just as much as I do, so I don't think it's abnormal."

What do you think of Kelly's latest album? Let us know in the comments!
