Can you stand it, "Twilight" fans? There are only a few hours until the premiere of an exclusive clip from "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," followed by a lengthy Q&A with stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as part of "MTV First: Breaking Dawn" tonight at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com.

For those dying to know more about the clip Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner will be introducing, we have a special sneak peek for you right here, right now. The clip opens with Bella's mom entering the room in which Alice and Rosalie are helping Bella get ready for her wedding day.

"Crap, my mascara!" mom Renee Dwyer (Sarah Clarke) says when she sees Bella, at which point Alice hands her a tissue.

"Thanks," she says, dabbing at her eyes. "Charlie, get in here!" she calls to Bella's father (Billy Burke).

Charlie pops his head into the frame tentatively. "You sure?" he asks, at which point our teaser ends. Those in need of extra ogling and analysis can head over to Hollywood Crush for a photo from the clip, and then don't forget to tune in to MTV at 7:56 p.m. tonight to see the clip in its entirety, followed by a Q&A with the "Twilight" trio on MTV.com.

We haven't seen much from the highly anticipated nuptials between Bella and Edward, but Pattinson and co-star Peter Facinelli did tell us how pretty everything and everyone looked during filming.

"[Kristen] looked amazing," Pattinson told us of seeing Stewart in Bella's wedding dress. "I really didn't do anything much but just stand there."

"[The wedding scene was] beautiful and spectacular," Facinelli chimed in. "It's funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on 'Twilight' [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from 'Twilight'], and it was raining. But you never see it on film," he said of the crew's movie magic. "With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you'll never see it on film; they block out the rain. They put tarps up, and you'll never see it. But for us, it was very wet and muddy and cold."

Be sure to tune in to "MTV First: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," which kicks off tonight at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV, followed by a Q&A with Kristen, Rob and Taylor on MTV.com!

Jadakiss Supports Irv Gotti For Def Jam President

'He said a lot of stuff that doesn't get said,' Jada tells MTV News of Irv's 'RapFix Live' appearance last month.

Irv Gotti has another endorsement in his quasi-campaign to become president of Def Jam: Jadakiss thinks the producer and executive would be a good fit at the storied record label.

The Yonkers rapper "loved" Gotti's early October appearance on MTV News' "RapFix Live," when he insisted he was the "best man" for Def Jam's currently vacant presidency.

"It was one of the best 'RapFix' [interviews] ever," Jada told MTV News. "He said a lot of stuff that doesn't get said. He was able to [vent] without hating on the record labels or channeling any hate. ... Everything he said — me being on the inside looking out and him being on the inside looking out but now on the outside looking in — I think he nailed every point. I think everything he said was excellent, and almost everything was true."

'Kiss is signed to Def Jam — releasing his latest album, The Last Kiss, in 2009, as well as the retail mixtape I Love You (A Dedication to My Fans) in May 2011 — on the label. The "We Gonna Make It" rapper hasn't spoken to anyone at the label about his support for the Murder Inc. founder, but he did mention agreeing with Irv's point that suits at any record label need to better relate to artists in order to earn their trust when it comes to making career decisions.

"Def Jam and every other label, it ain't that they're bad record labels; it's just sometimes they don't understand the artists that they have," Jada explained. "It's hard for somebody ... when you not coming where I'm from every day. ... You live a whole totally different life than me, but you telling me this ain't the record. That ain't really what's up, and that sometimes happens. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes that's what happens, and that be the conflict of interest."

When it comes to label drama, 'Kiss has had more than his fair share. Upon entering the rap game as a member of the LOX, with Styles P and Sheek Louch, the group was signed to Bad Boy Records. But after discontent, the trio managed to leave Bad Boy and sign to Ruff Ryders via Interscope Records in 1999.

'Kiss would release a pair of solo albums (2001's Kiss the Game Goodbye, 2004's Kiss of Death) on Interscope before Jay-Z, then Def Jam's president, inked him to Roc-A-Fella in 2007. That said, he's learned a thing or two about navigating record-business politics.

"I have a problem sometimes, but I'm always able to work it out, 'cause I understand that it's a business first," 'Kiss said of any creative friction that may arise between him and Def Jam. "That word 'business' is very strong. You can't take that personal. You can't let that intertwine with your feelings, and you gotta just come to some agreeance. There's always a way to work it out without running to the Internet or badmouthing the employees or something. For the most part, they show me love, so I just show the same love and respect back. Even if I disagree with something, if I bring it to them and we're not able to work it out, I just try to work it out myself, opposed to flipping — unless it's something that pissed me off to the point of no return," he laughed.

Are you surprised by Jada's support of Irv Gotti for Def Jam president? Let us know in the comments!

'Harold And Kumar': Greatest Movie Bromance Ever?

In the spirit of Hollywood's greatest cinematic duos — Butch and Sundance, Laurel and Hardy, Batman and Robin, Woody and Buzz — there is a solid argument that lovable stoners Harold and Kumar have a place among those greats.

With a third film, "A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas," opening this Friday, MTV News caught up with the men behind the duo in question, John Cho and Kal Penn, to find out where they think they rank in the canon of cinema's best bromances.

"This is a very rich tradition that we are tapping into, so there is a long line of people in ahead of us," Cho said. "Cheech and Chong to start off, and Hope and Crosby and Laurel and Hardy and the Three Stooges. I mean there is such a long list of bro comedy [duos]."

"Yeah, these are all people that we admire hugely," Penn agreed. "We obviously rank much lower than those dudes but we don't know how far below."

"Who are we better than?" Cho asked Penn.

"I don't know," Penn responded.

"We are without a doubt the best Korean-Indian stoner comedy duo in cinematic history," Cho decided.

Their equally amusing co-stars Neil Patrick Harris and Tom Lennon agree that Cho and Penn, as Harold and Kumar, definitely have a special place in film history.

"I think that Harold and Kumar fit in sort of the 'Swingers' mentality," NPH offered.

"I guess I'd put them up there with Hope and Crosby," Lennon said. "Like if Hope and Crosby had an adventure where penises were out all the time and everyone was super, super high, and then a bunch of nuns took a shower, and then Neil Patrick Harris had a weird sex scene with naked angels and stuff like that. And I don't mean the theater company Naked Angels, I mean actual angels with their boobs out. It's like the spirit of Hope and Crosby on a ton of drugs. You know, wandering around doing kind of perverted/creepy inappropriate stuff."

Check out everything we've got on "A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas."

Mac Miller's 5-Year Plan: Grammys, Nobel Peace Prize

Rapper jokes that his dreams for the future include 'a mustache, a lot of money ... a bunch of ridiculous things I don't need.'

"Do they have gefilte fish?"

A tired, always genial and very funny Mac Miller took a break from his what-seems-like-forever-long nationwide tour to come to New York to handle some promotional affairs. His debut EP, Blue Slide Park, drops November 8. Staring wide-eyed at the menu for legendary Lower East Side Jewish eatery Katz's Delicatessen, the "half-Jewish" Miller is awestruck by all the fare.

Unfortunately, they don't have his appetite's desire, and instead we tuck into deli standards: corned beef, pastrami and a bowl of matzo ball soup. And with that, our "date" snowballs into a conversation ranging from what he likes to do when he's not rapping to his joining the fraternity of famous Jewish rappers (he's quick to shout out MC Serch of '80s rap group 3rd Bass, who "wrote some very nice words" about him in Complex) to ... Rosie O'Donnell.

Well, we can add a bit of context to that last one. When asked about his five-year plan (as many a lady on a first date are wont to ask their potential partners), he tongue-in-cheekily explained that he'd like to enter 2016 "hopefully with a mustache, a lot of money — a lot of money — a bunch of ridiculous things I don't need, and some awards ... Grammys, Nobel Peace Prize ... any awards show hosted by Rosie O'Donnell."

And frankly, some of those dreams and accolades won't be that far a stretch for the 19-year-old Pittsburgh native in the coming weeks, as he's got an army of fans willing to help him further his dream — a bond that's not lost on him.

When I asked at the end of our meal how I can get in touch with him again, he asked if I followed him on Twitter. I replied yes, to which he proudly exclaimed: "You and a million other people."

'X Factor': Rachel Crow Compared To Michael Jackson

It was a night full of high praise, with Astro, Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro all earning the judges' approval as well.
By Adam Graham

There was no shortage of praise doled out by the judges on Wednesday's (November 2) episode of "The X Factor," with two performers hailed as budding superstars, one compared to a young Michael Jackson and a group praised as one of the world's best bands. And those acts weren't even considered the evening's front-runners!

Here's a recap of Wednesday's performances, and the compliments that followed:

The Girls
Following her rendition of the Eagles' "Desperado," Melanie Amaro was dubbed "the one to beat" in the competition by Cowell. Meanwhile, Rachel Crow's take on "Walking on Sunshine" caused Scherzinger to compare the 13-year-old to Jackson 5-era Michael Jackson, and Drew — formerly known as Drew Ryniewicz — wowed the judges with her unorthodox take on Nelly's "Just a Dream," which prompted both L.A. Reid and Cowell to say the 14-year-old has the makings of a superstar.

The Boys
Chris Rene was surrounded by flames during his performance of the Carpenters' "Superstar," which Cowell said made it look like he was performing in hell. "That's called fire, baby, 'cause he's hot!" gushed mentor L.A. Reid. Elsewhere, pintsize rapper Astro's blend of "Hip-Hop Hooray" and "Get Ur Freak On" — with original verses by the young MC — had Cowell praising his star quality and Scherzinger saying she wanted to take him to the club, while Marcus Canty's mash-up of B.o.B's "Nothin' on You" and Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step" had Paula Abdul calling him "a total performer."

The Groups
The 10-member InTENsity took pieces of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" and LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" and blended them into one "fun, fun, fun" performance, according to Reid, who echoed the other judges' sentiments about the group. Lakoda Rayne's vocals — especially their harmonies — were celebrated following their performance of "Landslide," though Cowell attacked their choice of wardrobe, saying their gowns made them look like they were attending the prom. And the Stereo Hogzz kicked off the evening with a steroid-enhanced version of Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" that had Abdul calling them "fantastic" and had Cowell complimenting them by saying, "I don't think there's a band in the world right now who are as good as you."

Over 30s
Burrito maker Josh Krajcik took on Christina Perri's "Jar of Hearts," and Cowell said the stark ballad came off as a song that Krajcik wrote himself. Mentor Scherzinger put it another way: "I feel like a proud mom, but we're, like, the same age, so that doesn't work." Stacy Francis, after attempting a pop song last week, took 'em to church with "Up to the Mountain," which was called "magical" and "a shining moment" by Abdul and called one of the evening's best by Cowell, who let her kiss him onstage. And 60-year-old LeRoy Bell got decent marks for singing Lonestar's "I'm Already There," though Reid criticized the song choice and Cowell said he felt Bell had a confidence problem. On this night, that was about as harsh as the criticism would get.

One finalist will be sent home on Thursday's one-hour live episode of "The X Factor."

It was also announced on Wednesday's show that "The X Factor" will return next year for a second season.

Kim Kardashian Divorce Lawsuit Is 'Deadly Serious'

Posted: 02 Nov 2011 05:56 AM PDT

'I desire for American people to have better television to watch,' comedian Rob Delaney says of suing over Kim's split with Kris Humphries.

Comedian/plaintiff Rob Delaney wants you to know that his lawsuit against Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, E! and Comcast is no laughing matter.

Delaney told MTV News on Tuesday that while he has never filed a lawsuit before, he is feeling confident via the support he's received since announcing his plans to sue over Kardashian's impending divorce from Kris Humphries.

"I've never sued anyone before. I've never been sued, but I'm against frivolous lawsuits, of course," he said. "It took something deadly serious for me to come out of the woodwork and mount this case. Ever since I announced, I've had numerous lawyers offer their support pro bono, and in America, you can kind of do whatever you want with the law. Michelle Bachmann is a lawyer, the Supreme Court decided [the presidency] in 2000, so there's a tradition here that I feel supports me. The Supreme Court, for example would be behind me."

And although Delaney has plenty of supporters, there are also those who might accuse him of grandstanding for publicity purposes and hitching his cause to a media storm. Delaney has a thoughtful response to the naysayers:

"Are people accusing me of [staging] a PR stunt? Absolutely, and that's valid. When I hear that, I'm not like, 'What are you talking about?' I get it. I'm a comedian, and this is happening on a television, so sure, I'm happy to draw attention to it, but if the comedy were chocolate, because we just had Halloween, the coating, the nougat of this matter is my true love for humanity and Kim Kardashian herself," he promised. "Again, I don't hate her, I want her to be married and happy, and I desire for American people to have better television to watch."

All things considered, Delaney's case is a bit grandiose. It's very likely that even the most skilled lawyers would not have very high hopes for his chances at a victory or acknowledgment in court. This is a fact Delaney knows full well but hopes his crusade might help just one person change his/her television viewing habits.

"I'm not totally insane, so I know that this might not come to fruition exactly how I envision it," he said. "But if we can get a few more people, if we can get a 12-year-old girl watching ['Keeping Up With the Kardashians'] to think, 'You know what? Kim Kardashian is a very awful role mode and I shouldn't watch that show.' Literally, if one girl in, let's say, North Dakota, sees this and says that, then we won. That's worth more than $18 million, certainly."

Should Rob Delaney be suing over Kim Kardashian's failed marriage? Let us know in the comments.

Wale Says MMG Will 'Step Up' So Rick Ross Can Rest

'Let's work harder, so Rozay doesn't have to work as hard,' he says on 'RapFix Live' after Ross' pair of seizures.

Rick Ross says his unwavering work ethic is what contributed to his recent health problems — and Maybach Music's Wale is ready to ease the load.

The D.C. rapper and Rozay protégé made his way to "RapFix Live" on Wednesday (November 2) to speak about his newly released album, Ambition, and the state of affairs with his MMG clique. When Ross suffered a pair of seizures October 14, members of the rap community were no doubt concerned — Wale probably more than most.

After learning about the first attack via text message from producer 9th Wonder, Wale scrambled to make sure the MMG CEO was OK. "All I remember is my hands were shaking, my heart was beating fast, and I was trying to reach everybody, and I couldn't reach anybody," Wale recalled.

Eventually, the "That Way" rapper got a hold of his label head and friend. "I actually talked to him after the first one, and he was laughing and everything was cool," he said.

On Tuesday, Rozay appeared on BET's "106 & Park" and explained that the seizures were due to a lack of sleep. "Being the fastest-growing label in the game, wanting to be the #1 label in the game, it comes with a lot of sacrifices, and in my case, it was sleep," he said. "I would get two hours of sleep and keep moving, me being a hustler."

While on "RapFix Live," Wale confirmed Ricky's resting habits. "Rozay went for, like, five days without sleeping," he said. "It's not healthy. It's definitely not healthy."

Maybach Music Group is comprised of a number of artists, including Meek Mill, Pill, Gunplay, Masspike Miles, Teedra Moses, Torch, Stalley and, of course, Wale, who said he is ready to work extra hard so the Bawse can put his feet up. "We carry the flag for Maybach as well. Maybach is a big label. We have a lot of talented artists," Wale said. "It's on us to step up now. Let's make more music, doper music. Let's work harder, so Rozay doesn't have to work as hard."

'X Factor' Exclusive: Bieber Fever Hits Rehearsals

MTV News' Jim Cantiello takes us backstage as the top 12 prepare to perform.

MTV News' own Jim Cantiello is exclusively covering "The X Factor" rehearsals. Read on for his fly-on-the-wall backstage report!

Bieber Fever has hit the halls of "X Factor"! On Tuesday, when Justin Bieber was performing on neighboring production "Dancing With the Stars," all the teenage "X Factor" ladies were on a mission to meet the Biebz.

It seemed like a no-brainer to orchestrate a Drew/Justin meet-up — her audition was all about how obsessed she is with him — which sparked a smidge of jealousy from the other teen contestants. One even playfully griped overdramatically, "But I'm a bigger fan than she is!" All the backstage drama was for naught: Drew didn't get to meet Bieber after all.

Also spotted Tuesday: Senior "X Factor" producers whistling and catcalling at a shirtless Derek Hough, who was rehearsing his "Dancing" results-show routine in the CBS hallways. Derek was unfazed.

Inside the house, Nicole Scherzinger was sitting in on the girls' rehearsals, even though she's mentoring the Over 30s. Was she scoping out the competition? Where was girls' mentor Simon? Turns out, Cowell sat in for Nicole's category, since she was overseas performing on the U.K. "X Factor" when her singers were booked to rehearse. Simon joked backstage: "Her Over 30s were relieved to have me."

As showtime approached, the expected last-minute wardrobe tweaks were in full effect. One group was spotted getting magic tape applied to their glamorous footwear to prevent slippage. (Am I evil for hoping that they fall on live TV anyway? I love a good spill.)

Two weeks into the live shows, the contestants are still getting along swimmingly. They're so comfortable with one another that one of the girls was able to have a pretend diva fit over being jealous about one contestant's over-the-top set piece, and everyone could laugh about it. We'll see if the chummy vibe continues as the competition heats up, especially now that the singers' fates are in voters' hands. Eek!

And here's a little tidbit: Keep your eyes peeled for one of the male contestants' arms tonight. In his (little) free time, he ran to a local tattoo parlor for new ink!

Happy viewing!

You can catch Jim on the "X Factor Pepsi Pre-Show," streaming at 7 p.m. ET tonight on TheXFactorUSA.com!

'Jersey Shore' Housemates 'Excited' For Season Five

Snooki, Pauly D, Deena and Vinny tease January 5 return to Seaside Heights, including Staten Island star's (brief) exit from MTV series.

"Jersey Shore" fans, start fist-pumping! Along with resolutions and champagne, the New Year promises a whole new season of Seaside fun as the housemates are set to return to New Jersey following their European getaway in Florence, Italy.

Season five of the "Shore" premieres on Thursday, January 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Over the summer, the roommates went straight from the cobblestone streets of Italy to the Seaside Heights boardwalk, where shooting for the fifth run of the series took place. And from the sound of things, they brought all of the drama and the fun with them.

"All of us became so close," Deena told MTV News earlier this year of their time in Italy. "So here, it really was like we were brothers and sisters. You get annoyed with each other, then you're fine. But you'll see, we had a lot of fun in Jersey; we had so much fun, we were home, we were comfortable."

Snooki teased of their return to Jersey, "We were back home with our friends, we got to see our family and there are parts where we got tired of each other, but overall we had an awesome time together."

"Jersey's gonna be another good season. I'm excited about that," Deena added.

Of course, summertime at the Jersey Shore can get a bit tiring — just ask Vinny, who left the house during filming on season 5 to steal some alone time. But fear not "Jersey Shore" fans, he does return!

"Sometimes people have left in the past for different reasons. Everyone has a different reason for doing it," Vinny told us. "We do this 24 hours a day and sometimes you just reach a point where you're like, 'You know, I need to take a break. I wish can stay straight through, but I need to take a break.' I got up to that point where I need to take a little break for myself and then recharge a little bit, and when I felt comfortable enough to come back, I did. And everyone trusted in my decision because usually I'm pretty grounded."

While the housemates were understanding, it was hardest on Vinny's best friend, DJ Pauly D.

"We all have our different ways to [deal] with this," Pauly explained. "Sometimes it's tough being on camera 24/7 and filming for such a long time. But, like, him and I get along almost like brothers at this point, he's like my best friend. I feel like I'm his light and he's my light, so when he left, I felt like I had to get him back because I wanted my light back. But I had to give him his space, almost like a relationship. But he had no choice — I was bringing him back anyway."

Big Sean's 'Dance (A$$)' Video Celebrates The Power Of Backing It Up

G.O.O.D. Music rapper's new clip, featuring Nicki Minaj, more than lives up to the advance billing.
By James Montgomery

Big Sean definitely believes in the power of advertising.

After all, he's the man who hung a title like "Dance (A$$)" on his latest single, a handle that was practically guaranteed to attract a certain, uh, clientele. So when it came time to do a video for the song, well, let's just say he needed to deliver the goods. And we are happy to report to all the posterior proponents out there that he has done just that. And then some.

Because the "Dance" video — which premiered online Tuesday — is definitely packing more ass than a Grand Canyon mule tour, thanks in no small part to the contributions of Ms. Nicki Minaj, who shows up midway (in a pair of Union Jack hotpants) to spit some delightfully raunchy verses and basically shake it to the ground. Of course, Sean also fills the vid with plenty of other scantily clad ladies, a nod to the song's stripper semantics and its musical DNA, which draws X and Y chromosomes from Detroit bass (and booty) master DJ Assault and regional fare like Chicago Juke Music.

And, as D-Town native Sean told MTV News last month on the set of the video, all of that was intentional.

"A lot of people think 'A$$' is just some funny stuff, but that's really a Detroit-sounding music ... that was one of the reasons why I put it on my album; people in Detroit know that's, like, the essence of Detroit music," he explained. "I didn't want to limit the song, I didn't want to limit the video, so, [there's] definitely a lot of girls, definitely a lot of ass, but it's in a tasteful way; still kept it artistic."

"Artistic," is, of course, a relative term. But working with the director tandem of Mike Watson and Mike Waxx, Sean has managed to craft a clip that's plenty clever (witness the scenes in which Sean sits atop a gold throne, surrounded by graffiti ... it's a dead-ringer for the opening credits of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air") and really cheeky, too (pun intended). And, give credit where credit is due: Big Sean set expectations pretty high just by calling the song "A$$," and clearly, the man knows how to back it up. Yes, pun intended once again.

Tell us what you think of Big Sean's "Dance (A$$)" video in the comments below!

Mumford & Sons Premiere Ghostly New Song

"We're not very good at deciding song names," Marcus Mumford laughs about tune, which will be called "Ghosts That We Knew" or "Ghosts."
By James Montgomery

They've been working on the follow-up to their breakout (on both sides of the pond) Sigh No More album since early 2011 and have been road-testing new material during a recent run of U.S. summer shows.

But now, finally, Mumford & Sons have given fans a proper taste of what they can expect on their upcoming album. The problem is, they can't seem to settle on a name for the new track.

Called either "Ghosts That We Knew" or, simply, "Ghosts" ("We're not very good at deciding song names," frontman Marcus Mumford laughed, "we'll hash it out, we'll have a physical fight later"), Mumford & Sons unveiled the brand-new song during a performance at Philadelphia station Radio 104.5. Regardless of the title they settle on, there's a pretty good chance their fanbase is going to be rather happy.

Because, frankly, the song is a stunner, rolling along on a rail of acoustic guitar, banjo and accordion, while Mumford keens about a love destroyed ("You saw no fault/ No cracks in my heart/ And you kneel beside/ My hope torn apart/ But the ghosts that we knew, will flicker from view/ Will live a long life") and the misguided hope that all can be repaired ("So give me hope in the darkness/ That I will see the light/ Because oh, it gave me such a fright/ But I will hope as long as you like/ Just promise me we'll be all right"). There's a hushed majesty to it all, a muted sense of despair and grace, and it finds them building on their Bluegrass roots. Shoot, Mumford even replicates the staggered "I-I-I-I" that helped propel "The Cave" to smash status both here in the States and back home in England.

There's still no official release date for the follow-up to Sigh (it is reportedly set for February), but based on "Ghosts," that disc can't come soon enough for Mumford's fans. Hopefully, they'll figure out all the song titles by then.

What are you expecting from the next Mumford album? Let us know in the comments!

'21 Jump Street' Trailer: Five Key Scenes

Posted: 02 Nov 2011 03:00 AM PDT

Trailer references Jonah Hill's 'Superbad' and includes an appearance by a certain 'Parks and Recreation' star.
By Eric Ditzian

The Twitter war between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum to see who'd get to tweet the "21 Jump Street" red-band trailer didn't exactly work out as planned. Hill won, yet for some reason didn't send out the link, so Tatum stepped in and executed the tweetage. But the new footage is nonetheless here.

The action-comedy — based on Johnny Depp's '80s TV series, of course — stars Hill and Tatum as two young cops who join a resurrected undercover unit, pose as students and infiltrate a local high school to get to the bottom of a synthetic-drug ring. Depp's cameo, unsurprisingly, doesn't pop up in the new footage, but what else does? Let's go ahead and take a look at the trailer's five key moments.

A Lifetime of Being Badass Mother$#@*&%s!
Yes, that's basically the professional goal of Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) when they join the police force. Once in uniform, though, badassery is hardly in the job description. Just look at those poor dudes biking around a park, their helmets and shorts almost as lethal to their images as their guns would be to the bad guys. One botched drug bust later, however, and it's on to the Jump Street squad.

Fitting In, Getting High
The kids at the drug-filled high school are understandably skeptical of the two new students. As Dave Franco puts it, Tatum looks like he's 40. So the cops have to fit in, which involves them taking the synthetic drug that comes in a package with a logo that looks, well, like a red pile of dog poop with a halo above it. So what does the drug do? According to the trailer, it makes you run through hallways and be rude to teachers, plus it leaves your tongue feeling really, really weird.

Do the Honors, Ron Swanson
You knew it was coming, that moment when one character urges a few others to head on down to 21 Jump Street. In theory, there's something inherently nod-to-the-TV-show cheesy about it. Luckily, the honors are bestowed on Nick Offerman, otherwise known as Ron Swanson from "Parks and Recreation." In his hands, with that man's-man beard of his, the line comes out as both hokey and humorous. Well done, Mr. Swanson, or whatever your name in this movie is.

The "Superbad" Callbacks
The trailer doesn't just hearken back to Depp's TV show. It also includes two moments unmistakably linked to Hill's 2007 breakout comedy, "Superbad." In one, Hill and Tatum exit a liquor store that looks a whole heck of a lot like the one where McLovin' tried to score booze for a party. Later, Hill is hit by a car and flung backward, yet isn't so banged and bruised that he can't pop off a curse-filled one-liner. Remember how a similar car-crash-and-curse befell Hill outside McLovin's liquor store in "Superbad"?

Guns, F-Bombs and Prom
For years, Hill has been promising that his "21 Jump Street" wouldn't be a parody, some weak-sauce bastardization of the TV series. He wasn't kidding. This is a hard-R action-comedy filled with foul language, guns galore, a few explosions and the odd sight of Hill asking Tatum to go to prom with him, a date that requires both of them to suit up with enough firepower to take on the T-1000. Now that is a brawl we'd kill to see.

Check out everything we've got on "21 Jump Street."

'Twilight' Fan-Favorite Moment #3: 'Eclipse' Leg Hitch

We're counting down your favorite 'Twilight Saga' moments before Rob, Kristen and Taylor join us live Thursday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV!

All week long, MTV News has been counting down your favorite "Twilight" moments in anticipation of our can't-miss "MTV First: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" event, featuring a never-before-seen clip from the series' fourth installment and an exclusive Q&A with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

So far, we've revisited Robert and Taylor's awkward heart-to-heart during the frigid "Eclipse" tent scene (moment #5) and Jacob's first ab reveal in "New Moon" (moment #4). And while the snippets have focused squarely on Lautner and Pattinson, Stewart finally gets in on the action with today's #3 fan-favorite moment: the "Eclipse" leg hitch.

To be sure, it was a detail many fans feared wouldn't find its way from Stephenie Meyer's novel to the 2010 big-screen adaptation, but director David Slade did right by Twilighters, including the small-yet-telling gesture in the steamy scene. As Edward shows off the new bed he purchased to Bella, the two decide to break it in with a hot-and-heavy make-out session, during which Edward — in a moment very uncharacteristic of the cautious vampire — hitches Bella's leg around his hip. And while the simple action left a big impression on Twilighters, Pattinson later admitted to MTV News that he didn't even remember filming the now-iconic scene.

"I remember seeing that scene and thinking, 'I don't remember doing that,' " Pattinson recalled. "That's a little saucy. That's a little bit raunchy for a 'Twilight' movie."

Be sure to tune in to "MTV First: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," which kicks off Thursday, November 3, on MTV at 7:56 p.m. ET, followed by a Q&A with Kristen, Rob and Taylor on MTV.com!

Zooey Deschanel And Ben Gibbard: A Breakup Playlist

Posted: 02 Nov 2011 12:13 AM PDT

In the wake of their divorce, we've compiled a list of the most heartbreaking She & Him and Death Cab for Cutie tunes.
By MTV News staff

On Tuesday night, Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and singer/actress Zooey Deschanel announced they had decided to end their two-year marriage. It's a split that was not only unforeseen, but decidedly sad, too. After all, the pair were basically the go-to indie couple, especially with the recent separation of alt-rock figureheads Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon.

Given the rather expansive back catalog of heartbreakers Gibbard and Deschanel have penned over the years for Death Cab and She & Him, respectively, we're greeting the news with an exceptionally weepy playlist of their saddest songs. It's a rather somber day, so why not offer up some appropriate tearjerkers?

"405": Gibbard's hazy rumination on a (somewhat) long-distance relationship gone awry. Mistrust, lies, desperation ... it's the rare song that's honest (or smart) enough to admit that more often than not, distance does not make the heart grow fonder.

"Army Corps of Architects": A crushing Death Cab tune that details love's collapse through an extended engineering metaphor ("Call in the Army Corps of Architects/ To flatten the skyline and begin again"), it finishes with a typically boozy kiss-off ("So bring the discrepancies, I'll pour the drinks") before fading out with an extended, extra-sad instrumental. Uplifting, it is not.

"I Will Follow You Into the Dark": Gentle acoustic number that's become a sing-along staple of Death Cab's live sets, it's about loving someone so much that the hereafter seems like a mere afterthought. A beautiful sentiment, one that more often than not, never gets the chance to reach fruition.

"The Ice Is Getting Thinner": Harrowing Narrow Stairs closer that documents the gradual, sad deterioration of a relationship ("There was little we could say/ And even less that we could do/ To stop the ice from getting thinner/ Under me and you") and all the hopelessness that goes with it. Try not to get goose bumps during Chris Walla's winsome, winding guitar solo in the middle. It's impossible.

"If You Can't Sleep": Haunting She & Him tune that brims with the promise of true love and wrestles with the specter of separation ("If you can't sleep/ I'll be there in your dreams"), it's a lullaby in more ways than one.

"Sentimental Heart": Another She & Him selection, this one pairs bright instrumentals (trilling strings, shiny piano chords, soaring vocal harmonies) with lyrics that are very much about the aftermath of a brutal breakup and the rather daunting task of attempting to pick up the pieces.

"Someday You Will Be Loved": This Death Cab tune leaves us on a (relatively) optimistic note of future love. But no matter how hopeful the lyrics appear to be ("You may feel alone when you're falling asleep/ And every time tears roll down your cheek/ But I know your heart belongs to someone you've yet to meet"), it's hopeless to convince the newly heartbroken that they will ever find love again.

"Stay Young, Go Dancing": A Death Cab song that Gibbard seemingly wrote about his relationship with Deschanel, it opens with him very much at ease with her in Los Angeles ("Life is sweet/ In the belly of the beast"), a town he had very vocally disparaged on the old track "Why You'd Want to Live Here." From there, it goes on to examine the joy of being with the one you love and staving off the mounting uncertainties of the future simply by believing. And dancing.

"Steadier Footing": A deceptively simple song about wanting to express your love, yet never really having the guts to rise to the occasion, it runs less than two minutes, yet still packs an emotional wallop, a tact Death Cab would employ with similarly crushing effect on the Narrow Stairs track "You Can Do Better Than Me."

"Transatlanticism": Quite possibly the long-distance relationship song to end all long-distance relationships, it finds Gibbard openly pining for the love he's separated from, and cursing the great expanses that keep them apart. The fact that it builds to a crashing crescendo and an open-hearted plea ("So come on!") only makes the inevitability that much tougher to handle.

"Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?": Decidedly upbeat She & Him song that's really about throwing yourself at a love who may or may not be interested in returning the favor. Its positivity ("I think you're just so pleasant/ I would like you for my own") belies the rather sad desperation contained within.

Kelly Clarkson Thinks Coldplay Competition Is 'Healthy'

'People were like, 'Oh my God, are you kidding? Coldplay is going to kill you!' Stronger singer tells MTV News of Billboard face-off.

Kelly Clarkson's fifth studio album, Stronger, landed her at the #2 spot on the Billboard album chart, selling 163,000 copies in its first week.

While her first-week sales may have been softer than what Clarkson had hoped for, when the former "American Idol" winner sat down with MTV News on Friday, she acknowledged that she had some fierce release competition in Coldplay. But she had a refreshingly positive take on the matchup.

"My album came out this week, Coldplay came out at the same time, and people were like, 'Oh my God, are you kidding? Coldplay is going to kill you!' I don't care if they kill me," Clarkson said of the rock band, whose Mylo Xyloto topped the charts with 447,000 copies sold. "It's more like, how many people are going to buy their album, and then my album is right there, 'cause it's out too," she said. "I always think competition is healthy."

Clarkson, who told us she thinks Stronger is her "best album" to date, is now prepping the second single off the LP, "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)." "I think we might be going with 'Stronger,' the title track." Clarkson revealed. "It's just a great song, so I think we might go with that one."

Much like the first single off the album, "Mr. Know It All," "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" is a powerful breakup anthem somewhat reminiscent of "Since U Been Gone."

" 'What Doesn't Kill You,' I can't wait to perform that live," the singer, who plans to tour in January, told us recently. "We've already rehearsed it, and it's so much fun. It's like this big dance anthem."

As much fun as "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" will be to perform, Clarkson says another song takes the top spot on her list of favorite songs off her latest album.

" 'You Love Me,' that's my favorite," she said. "Even before I wrote a song to it, the track is just unbelievably cool. It doesn't sound like anything else that's out right now. It's very like Prince, Tina Turner, but nowadays; it's more contemporary. And the message of the song, too, I love that, the fact that saying like, 'Your love feels like a punch in the face.' I just think it's a fun song."

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced To 30 Days In Jail

Lindsay Lohan is once again headed back to the sadly familiar confines of the Los Angeles County jail. The troubled actress appeared in court Wednesday morning (November 2) and was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating her probation for not attending court-mandated therapy sessions and getting tossed from a community-service gig.

According to TMZ, Lohan admitted in court Wednesday that she violated the terms of her probation from a theft case by getting booted from her community-service assignment at the Downtown Women's Center.

Judge Stephanie Sautner was adamant that she would not put up with any more slipups from Lohan, telling her, "This is known as putting the keys to jail in the defendant's pocket ... the first time you violate, you will go to jail." Lohan will have to serve 12 days at the Los Angeles County morgue — where she's already been logging some time — and then attend four therapy sessions by December 14. Sautner warned that if Lohan does not meet all those conditions, she will put a warrant out for her arrest and sentence her to an additional 270 days in jail. Sautner revoked Lohan's probation in October following the revelation that the actress had not completed her obligations from a 2011 arrest on theft charges.

What do you think of Lindsay's return to the big house? Tell us on Facebook!

This time around, Lohan will not have the option of serving her time at home, and given the overcrowding situation in L.A. jails, she is only expected to serve 20 percent of the 30 days, or around six days. She has to complete another 12 days at the morgue and four psychotherapy sessions by January 17 and complete her community service (53 days total) and therapy obligations by March 29. If she successfully meets those obligations, her probation will be over.

Shockingly, TMZ also reported that Lohan was not immediately sent to jail because Judge Sautner decided to give her time to complete her nude photo shoot for Playboy magazine. Lohan lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley told the judge Lindsay must complete the shoot this week, which is reportedly netting her a cool $1 million. Lohan has one week to surrender and begin her fifth jail term, which is expected to start November 9.

Lady Gaga has always made it her mission to empower her little monsters. On Wednesday (November 2), Mother Monster announced she's launching the Born This Way Foundation, which aims to further inspire young people. The pop superstar is even getting some help from her very own Mother Monster, Cynthia Germanotta.

"My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the Born This Way Foundation," Gaga said in a statement about the foundation, which takes its name from her hit single and album. "Together we hope to establish a standard of Bravery and Kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment."

The foundation will work with a number of partners, including the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the California Endowment and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. According to the statement, the foundation will focus on "youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilize digital mobilization as one of the means to create positive change."

Gaga has been a leader in shedding a light on the issue of bullying. She met with President Obama at a fundraiser in September to talk about the bullying epidemic, after she was touched in particular by the suicide of bullied 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer.

"The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling," she tweeted when news of the teen's death broke in September. "I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone's life." She went on to post Rodemeyer's "It Gets Better" video, urging that bullying "must become illegal. It is a hate crime."

Lady Gaga isn't the only pop star using the public spotlight to give back. On Tuesday, Justin Bieber announced the creation of his Believe Charity Drive and noted that partial proceeds from the sale of his brand-new Under the Mistletoe album will be donated to charitable organizations.

The hoopla around the Kim/Kris split has yet to die down. Kim Kardashian is currently in Australia promoting a line of handbags with her sister Khloé and has this message for her fans days after she announced the news: She's trying to get through this difficult time as best as she can.

"I mean, in a tough situation I'm trying to do the best that I can," she told Australian radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. "It's actually kind of an escape to be able to come here. There's really no easy way to go through something like this."

A leopard-print-clad Kardashian, who addressed her split from hubby-of-72-days Kris Humphries in a blog post on Tuesday, added that right now she wants to keep as many details about the breakup as private as possible. "I mean, absolutely [I married for love]. I don't think I'm ready to go into, you know, the details of what went on in my marriage," she said in a video posted on Radar Online. "But I do want to make clear that I would never marry for a TV show, for money, for anything like that. I think that's really ridiculous that I have to even defend that. ... I guess, you know, that comes along with when you film your wedding for a reality show. With the support of my family, everything will work out the way it's supposed to."

Khloé, who was also present during the chat, commended her sister for remaining focused on work and not shying away from any and all attention. "I'm so proud of my sister for being so strong," she said. "We're here as a commitment. She is indulging herself in work and we're here."

Tick Tock: The Shortest Celebrity Marriages Ever

In an interview with MTV News back in June, Khloé admitted to being a bit surprised by Kim's relationship with the basketball player. "Mine was insanity in the best way ever," Khloé said of her quickie engagement to Lamar Odom. "But [with] Kim's, we were totally surprised. I mean, because I had been working so much, and Kris lives in New Jersey, I've only met him not even a handful of times. We were at a family dinner, and she walks in, and she's like, 'I'm engaged,' but we didn't even know if it was a joke."

Kim and Khloé's appearance comes as the entire Kardashian crew is out promoting various projects. Kris Jenner, who is promoting her book "Kris Jenner ... and All Things Kardashian," spoke to Sway Calloway on his "Sway in the Morning" radio show on Sirius XM's Shade 45, where she addressed rumors that Kim profited from her wedding to Humphries.

Kim's Cover Up: How The Tabloids Got It Right

"The misconception that's so annoying in the media and the press is that the wedding was a sham and she did it for the money," Kris said.

"Kim didn't make any money off of this wedding. No. She didn't make five cents off of the wedding. She spent millions of dollars of her own money on a wedding."

Justin Bieber Camp Denies Paternity Claim

California woman claims Bieber fathered her baby.

Justin Bieber is vigorously denying the claims made by a 20-year-old California woman who says in a lawsuit that the 17-year-old singer is the father of her newborn baby.

"While we haven't yet seen the lawsuit, it's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims," Bieber's publicist said in a statement released on Tuesday. "We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

Radar Online reports that Mariah Yeater claims she had unprotected sex with Bieber a year ago in a backstage area at one of the singer's concerts and that her three-month-old baby is his. According to an upcoming issue of Star magazine, "in a hand-signed affidavit, sworn under the penalty of perjury, Yeater told a California court that Bieber propositioned her on October 25 of last year, when she was 19. The pair had a sexual tryst after his concert and backstage at L.A.'s Staples Center, it's alleged in court papers."

The affidavit requests that the court compel Bieber to undergo a paternity test to prove whether the child, named Tristan, is his and then to provide "reasonable child support, effective immediately."

Bieber, who confirmed in March that he was dating Disney star Selena Gomez, has discussed his opposition to casual sex in the past. He told Rolling Stone magazine in February that, "I don't think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them." According to Yeater, Bieber would have been 16 at the time of the alleged encounter. A court hearing is set for December.

The allegation comes at an awkward time for Bieber, who just released his first Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for a variety of charities aimed at education, youth well-being and music.

'Breaking Dawn' star scores lead in film adapted from New Yorker article.

Indie director Gus Van Sant may not have won the directing slot on "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" like Robert Pattinson wanted him to, but the auteur is getting a second chance to work with one of the stars of "Twilight," Taylor Lautner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two are set to make a small-budget film together based on a nonfiction article from the New Yorker, but there aren't many details about the project other than that.

Van Sant and Lautner recently found themselves in the middle of controversy. After photos of the two found their way online, GQ Australia asked Lautner during an interview whether the director and screenwriter Lance Ian Black, who had also been photographed with them, had hit on him. The publication has since apologized for the question, and Lautner explained that there was nothing odd about a writer and director meeting with an actor. Knowledge of this project now sheds more light on those meetings.

The role means a change in direction for Lautner, whose work outside the "Twilight" series since his rise to stardom has been limited to a small part in the ensemble rom-com "Valentine's Day" with then-girlfriend Taylor Swift and a disappointing box-office debut as an action star in this past summer's "Abduction." That film's lackluster receipts had critics skeptical as to the future career prospects of the man behind the abs.

A role in a film with the Academy-Award-nominated director at the helm could spell good things for Lautner in his post-"Twilight" years, especially considering Van Sant's track record for directing great performances from actors.

Be sure to tune in to "MTV First: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," which kicks off Thursday, November 3, on MTV at 7:56 p.m. ET, followed by a Q&A with Kristen, Rob and Taylor on MTV.com!
