Aside from his latest controversy, Chris Brown is back with F.A.M.E., which stands for "Forgiving All My Enemies" and "Fans Are My Everything." On the new album, Brown has some choice features from stars such as Lil Wayne, Tyga, Ludacris and Justin Bieber.

"Working with Wayne is always incredible," said Brown, whose "Beautiful People" video premiered Tuesday on MTV's "The Seven." "I've had Wayne on every single album I've done. ... Being able to work with these guys is incredible. I build most of my collaborations off of just the relationships that I've built with these guys over the years and then new relationships, like Justin Bieber."

Brown told MTV News that it was awesome getting Bieber on board for "Next 2 You." Brown became interested in featuring the teen star on his album after the duo worked on the remix to Bieber's track "Up," which was featured on Never Say Never - The Remixes.

"Being able to collab with [Bieber] was great," Brown said. "He's a young, energetic cat, so being able to work with him, with the fanbase he has, was incredible. I know a lot of little girls are going to love this record.

"I wouldn't say [he's] my protégé. He's doing his thing at a young age, and I was doing mine at a young age, so being able to see him come up is dope."

Brown explained that the two of them didn't quite get into the studio together, however.

"I actually stood him up on accident," Brown recalled. "He was kind of mad ... I was all the way on the other side of town handling some business, 'girl business,' and I was rushing back, and by that time, he's like, 'Man, I'm leaving, bro. I did it — just check it out.' And I looked at it and listened to it and I was like, 'Man, this is crazy.' ... He's a great kid."

As promised, Lady Gaga joined forces with Google on Tuesday to answer a string of fan-generated questions for an hour-long interview posted on YouTube called "Musicians@Google Presents: Google Goes Gaga."   While the pop star dished on a range of topics, including her upcoming album, Born This Way, and aspiring-singers-turned-viral-YouTube stars (yes, she mentioned Rebecca Black), the most exciting news she shared with her fans was that she'll be directing the video for her next single "Judas" alongside creative director Laurieann Gibson.   "I'm very excited. Actually, I can exclusively reveal here at Google that I will be making my directorial debut with Laurieann Gibson, directing this video with her ourselves," the singer said to the cheers of the interview's live audience.   Keeping in line with the song's title, Mother Monster also admitted that the clip will include religious imagery. "It's no surprise, I'm sure, to many of you, that Judas is a man of the biblical senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video," she said.   Gaga also gave fans a taste of the club track's lyrics by offering a few lines from the song. "When he comes to me, I am ready/ I'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs/ Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain/ Even after three times, he betrays me/ I'll bring him down, a king with no crown," she recited.   Gaga explained that "Judas," which she produced along with RedOne, talks about confronting one's demons. "You have to look into what is haunting you and you need to look into forgiving yourself in order to move on," she said. "And it's really fun to dance to and sounds like it could be a pop priest record."   She also described a track off her "avant-garde techno rock" LP called "Edge of Glory." Recalling the loss of her grandfather last year, Gaga revealed that she wrote the tune at an emotional moment at the piano while taking tequila shots with her father. "The song's about your last moment on Earth, the moment of truth. The edge of glory is that moment right before you leave the Earth," she said.

With the second season of "The Hard Times of RJ Berger" set to return to MTV on Thursday at 11 p.m. ET, the already large ensemble cast is getting past the sophomore slump by adding some star power in the way of some huge guest stars.

The first one fans can look forward to seeing is "Jersey Shore" star Vinny Guadagnino, who plays RJ's cousin in the March 28 episode. Jareb Dauplaise, who co-stars as RJ's sidekick Miles, told MTV News: "To get Vinny on the show is funny, because the episode is titled 'My Cousin Vinny.' So what more would you want than the most famous Vinny I think we got right now? So we are finally going to learn how to GTL from the original GTL member himself."

Jayson Blair, who plays RJ and Miles' archenemy Max, admitted, "You see these [reality] shows and you don't know what to expect because people are always different. I talked to him here and there at events, but when he came onto set, he was super focused and super dedicated and really passionate about acting, which I couldn't be more excited for. And he was great."

Fellow reality star Paris Hilton also dropped by the set, to the delight of Dauplaise and his family.

"Paris Hilton comes on the show, and I was lucky enough to have the scene with her, and Paris is great," Dauplaise gushed. "She's beautiful, and my mom's a big fan of Paris Hilton. Actually, my mom got to meet Paris, and they got along great!"

And Weezer, whose Pinkerton album provides the name of the show's fictional high school, also make an appearance in the new season.

"It's actually the one band that I've never gotten the chance to see live until I met them on the show, and of course I was like, 'Hey can I please get some tickets? You know, come see you guys for free?' " said self-proclaimed "huge" Weezer fan Dauplaise. "Rivers Cuomo is great. Got to go with Paul [who plays RJ Berger] to the set of 'Magic,' the video Weezer shot with B.o.B, and it was great to meet them all. Just so cool to look at these guys that you've been listening to for over a decade now."

Amber Lancaster almost didn't make the cut for Weezer's big scene. "I was, like, so mad, because I was originally not in that script, and I was like, 'I want to be at that concert! I love Weezer!' So they wrote me into that episode. That was cool. So you'll see me [my character] Jenny gets to go to Weezer."

Don't miss "The Hard Times of RJ Berger" season premiere Thursday at 11 p.m. following the "Jersey Shore" season finale on MTV.

CyHi Da Prynce likens the G.O.O.D. Music collective to superheroes, but you might be surprised to learn who he compares his crew to.

"[Kanye] is Captain Planet and all our powers combined," the upstart MC told Mixtape Daily, referencing the animated Planeteers. "I'm heart, Big Sean is water, Pusha T is fire and Teyana Taylor is Wind. So if you put it all together, it's Captain Planet. He's Captain Planet."

And maybe Mr. Hudson is Earth, but even without the final element, it's hard not to give 'Ye a nod for pushing his team to the forefront.

The My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy star recently held court down in Texas, where he headlined a ballyhooed G.O.O.D. Music set at the South by Southwest music festival. Push, Cy and Jay-Z joined Mr. West for a formidable lineup.

According to Da Prynce, it's just another example of Yeezy's hospitality, though, to hear the Georgia rapper tell it, it's really his mentor's honesty that sets him apart, for better or worse.

"I wish you guys could really be around him," CyHi said. "The misconception ... it's like this, you know how you say something about somebody behind their back, and then when you see them you have to be politically correct and you don't say what you want to say to them? I don't feel like that's right. Some people have to be honest with each other, 'cause sometimes you can't let a situation escalate to a point where it's out of control.

"Honesty is the biggest thing to me and that's what I love about [Kanye]," he continued. "He'll tell me when my verse is not as hot. Most of your friends will tell you you're dope because you're already naturally dope. But he pushes me and challenges me to be better. And he does that in music, art, fashion and so many other things to the point where I take it as constructive criticism. Especially to someone that sold all these records, he didn't sell them for nothing. Don't shoot the messenger all the time, just get the message."

The power of the Golden Popcorn is once again yours! Starting today, we're asking you to cast your votes and select the nominees for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in 13 categories ranging from the familiar (Best Movie, Best Kiss) to the brand-new (Best Line from a Movie).

Can "Eclipse" reprise the success of "Twilight" (seven nods) and "New Moon" (five nods) before it? Will Biggest Badass star go to Robert Downey Jr.'s sardonic, super-suited hero in "Iron Man 2," to Angelina Jolie for her acrobatic brawling in "Salt," or someone else entirely? Which star's unforgettable line — Liam Neeson's plea to release the Kraken? Justin Timberlake's insistence that only a billion dollars is truly cool? — will be the first to take home this award? For a third-straight year, it's up to you!

Here's how it'll work: Starting Tuesday (March 22) and running through April 5, you can log onto MovieAwards.MTV.com to nominate your favorite movies, stars and crazy cinematic moments. Once the final nominees are announced, head back to the site to vote for the winners from May 3 through June 4. Voting for Best Movie, however, will remain open throughout the live ceremony on June 5 — meaning you'll have a chance to affect the night's biggest prize until the very last minute.

"MTV's viewers are die-hard film buffs, and we love to see how they wield that dedication when voting for the MTV Movie Awards," said Stephen Friedman, general manager of MTV. "This year's show will once again reward movie buffs with previews of the year's most anticipated movies and one-of-a-kind moments that become pop-culture history."

The 20th Annual MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

Chris Brown's 'Beautiful People' Video Premieres

New video debuts same day Brown made headlines for 'Good Morning America' outburst.
By James Montgomery

Chris Brown's new album is called F.A.M.E., an acronym for "Forgiving All My Enemies." Of course, as his actions on Tuesday's (March 22) "Good Morning America" proved, if his post-show outburst was even half as extreme as reports have made it out to be, he might not have taken that title to heart just yet.

The timing of his behavior following "GMA" was problematic, to say the least: Not only did it occur on the day F.A.M.E. hit stores, but it also happened hours before he was set to premiere the video for his latest single, "Beautiful People," during MTV's "The Seven." Somewhat understandably, given the backlash that followed his alleged window-smashing at ABC's studios, Brown canceled his appearance on MTV's show, but the "People" video premiered nonetheless.

Much like everything involving Brown since his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, how you feel about him will probably affect how you feel about his new clip. Some may see its scenes of Brown hamming it up in the studio with the likes of Pharrell and Timbaland as nothing short of garish, while others could view them as glimpses into a man who has made his penance and now is trying very hard to move on with his life. His detractors can never forgive him for his past indiscretions, and his supporters — having already forgiven him — want nothing more than to see him smile occasionally. And both sides are right.

So while the "Beautiful People" video is sure to be divisive, the song most certainly is not. Because it's totally great: a throbbing, nocturnal knocker of a track that's dipped in equal parts swagger and studio lacquer. Producer Benny Benassi leaves his clubby touches all over the song, infusing it with house thump and a touch of Italo-boogie. Brown's vocals are almost an afterthought; smoothed out in the studio and downright supple, his voice is almost like the lightweight chassis atop a very expensive, very fast foreign sports car. It speeds along and handles beautifully. It's not a stretch to call "Beautiful People" not only one of the year's most unexpected singles, but also one of the best.

Of course, some folks might not even listen to it or watch the video. That's a shame, but in some regards, I can't blame them. Then again, sometimes it's best to leave the judgment up to the court of public opinion and focus instead on the product at hand. Love him or hate him, with "Beautiful People," Chris Brown has proven that he's not going anywhere for a while, whether you like it or not.

Taylor Lautner, Justin Timberlake Vie For 'Best Line' MTV Movie Award Nods

'Eclipse,' 'Social Network' stars and more may snag nominations in the new category as voting begins today.
By Eric Ditzian

New MTV Movie Award categories come and go. Best Kiss has been around since the beginning ("My Girl" co-star Anna Chlumsky and Macaulay Culkin were the inaugural winners in 1992), while Sexiest Performance and Best Virtual Performance lasted just a year (congrats, Jessica Alba and Gollum!).

For the 2011 show, one new category joins the field: Best Line From a Movie. Folks like Justin Timberlake ("Social Network"), Taylor Lautner ("Eclipse") and Leonardo DiCaprio ("Inception") will compete to make the final list of nominees.

We should add, however, that we've seen something like this before. For two years at the turn of the millennium, we presented a category called Best Line. Robert De Niro won that first year for asking Ben Stiller in "Meet the Parents," "Are you a pothead, Focker?" The next year, "Legally Blonde" star Reese Witherspoon triumphed for delivering this line to Selma Blair: "Oh, I like your outfit too, except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated."

While comedic movie lines won twice in the past, there's no telling what's going to happen this year. Potential nominees are both young ("Grown Ups" star Alexys Nycole Sanchez: "I want to get chocolate wasted!") and, well, not as young ("Tron: Legacy" star Jeff Bridges: "You're really ruining my Zen thing"). There are laugh lines ("With no power, comes no responsibility," Aaron Johnson said in "Kick Ass") and deadly serious ones ("If you guys were the inventors of Facebook, you'd have invented Facebook," Jesse Eisenberg declared in "The Social Network"). A few quotes are a little too dirty to print in full ("It's in the shape of a giant co--," cracks Chloë Moretz in "Kick Ass"). And then there are two "Eclipse" quotes facing off against each other: Lautner ("Let's face it, I'm hotter than you") versus Robert Pattinson ("Doesn't he own a shirt?").

Which lines will make the final list of nominees? It's up to you, and voting is already under way at MovieAwards.MTV.com. Polls for Best Line From a Movie and the rest of the categories will stay open through April 5. After the final nominees are announced, another round of voting will kick off on May 3 and run through June 4. But voting for Best Movie will remain open during the awards show itself.

The 20th annual MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

'Hunger Games' Experts Weigh In: Who Should Play Peeta?

Last week, MTV News exclusively revealed that Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence landed the highly coveted role of Katniss Everdeen in the film adaptation of "The Hunger Games." Experts and fans were mixed on the thought of the tall, blond 20-year-old taking on the role of the 16-year-old, dark-haired heroine, but it seems like Jennifer can rest easy for now, since the debate has shifted to who will play fellow Hunger Games competitor Peeta.

"It's definitely going to be someone close to her age," Down With the Capitol administrator Theresa Morgan told MTV News. "I think it will make it easier to cast someone for Peeta."

Many names have already been thrown into the mix, including "The Kids Are All Right" star Josh Hutcherson, who confessed he has met with director Gary Ross. "I love Peeta," Hutcherson told Entertainment Weekly. "The character is so much who I am — self-deprecating, a people person. And he'd be such a great character to play!"

Hutcherson seems to be a front-runner for the District 12 male tribute, but he will have some stiff competition from Alex Pettyfer and fan favorite Hunter Parrish.

"We love Josh Hutcherson," the Hob administrator Megan Scott said. "There's Alex, who I really like, but Hunter is a huge fan favorite. When I think of these guys with Jennifer, they all go well together."

"Our whole site thinks Hunter will be perfect," Morgan said. "He looks the role and acts the role. A lot of people are thinking he sounds like Peeta."

Ross might agree, since Parrish recently told E! Online he has met with the movie's producers. "I'd be grateful to get the opportunity," he said. "Like, really grateful. It would be amazing."

Not everyone's convinced that these leading contenders are right for the coveted "Hunger Games" role.

"My favorite for Peeta is Callan McAuliffe," Mockingjay.net administrator Kimmy West said about the "I Am Number Four" newcomer. "I think he has the acting chops, he's relatively unknown, and he has that warm quality that Peeta has."

Who do you think should get the role of Peeta in "The Hunger Games"? Tell us in the comments below!

Simon Cowell Wants 'X Factor' To 'Find The New Lady Gaga'

Ex 'Idol' judge also offers audition advice to contestants during Twitter Q&A with fans.

Simon Cowell has said that contestants who want to take home the $5 million prize on "X Factor" must bring a wave of originality to the table. In fact, the former "American Idol" judge is hoping to find a star so innovative that the winner will be able to compete as "the new Lady Gaga."

On Tuesday (March 22), Cowell took to Twitter to participate in a live Q&A chat with fans, and gave up even more details about "X Factor." "We hope 2 find an artist who can compete with people in the charts. Would love to find the new Lady Gaga. No Rules," he wrote of the reality show, which is set to debut this September.

As for how contestants can go about pulling off an innovative audition, Cowell tweeted, "My [advice] is to find unique version of a well known song IE Gracen doing Lady Gaga made him stand out," referring to YouTube star Greyson Chance.

Cowell also opened up about why he selected music executive L.A. Reid for a spot on the judges' panel. "He's the No1 Hit maker in the world. Judges get to mentor 3 contestants each in the final. He will make a great mentor," he said in another tweet.

And while reports seem to suggest that Mariah Carey has passed on a seat at the judges' table, Cowell revealed that Cheryl Cole (one of the judges on the U.K. version) is still "in the mix," adding that he hopes to reveal the names of the two remaining judges "very shortly."

Asked what most excited about bringing the singing reality show Stateside, Cowell replied: "Finding a Star. Launching the new show. I miss judging in America!"

For "American Idol" fans planning to follow Cowell to "X Factor," the Brit was quick to point out a few differences in the guidelines between his new and former talent show. Not only is the starting age limit lower than most shows (12 years old), but there is no upper age limit. "X Factor" also allows groups to compete in the show, with the winner taking home the $5 million prize.

So what happens if "X Factor" fails to live up to all the hype and headlines surrounding the series? Cowell has a plan. "Book a fast flight home.. !" he joked.

Shortly after news broke that Chris Brown had stormed out of ABC News' Times Square studios following an appearance on "Good Morning America," a rep for ABC released a statement to MTV News defending their interview, during which host Robin Roberts asked Brown about his 2009 assault of Rihanna and its consequences.

"As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy," the rep said in the statement. "And that's what we did in this interview with Mr. Brown."

With varying reports surfacing after the incident, Roberts took to her Twitter account to react to Brown's outburst, writing, "Sure has been an interesting AM @GMA. Still sorting thru everything myself. Just my 2nd day on twitter, wonder what tomorrow will bring?"

Sources tell E! News that the star "went ballistic" shortly after the interview wrapped. He started cursing and throwing furniture, making show staffers "feel scared."

"He went ballistic, absolutely ballistic," the source explained. "After Robin got a lot of criticism for [not pressing] Tiger [Woods], she pressed him. She was concerned after she was slammed for that. Chris thought he'd be asked one question, not pressed on it. They say, 'We'll ask you one Rihanna question,' but she kept asking follow-ups. He got off and went crazy.

"He smashed a chair into a window and that glass is so thick, people heard shattering and security was called," the source added. "It was to the point where people were scared. The question is now how ABC will report it."

Sources tell People a similar story, with an eyewitness adding, "He was visibly upset and appeared livid after the interview."

Throughout the course of his first few years in the business, Robert Pattinson has had a great run with quality leading ladies. During MTV News' recent live interview with the star, he joked that he has a special place in his heart for working with "hot girls."

When MTV News caught up with one of the "hot" women in question, Uma Thurman, she laughed off the compliment and turned the praise back toward her co-star and his impressive work in their upcoming period drama, "Bel Ami."

"Robert Pattinson is, I think, going to be a really serious actor," Thurman said while promoting her new movie "Ceremony." "I think he's incredibly concrete in his presence on the set and obviously is very handsome. [He] is a very nice person and he's sensitive. He's present. ... He's a really good actor."

Thurman went on to say that while a lot of attention is focused on his attractiveness, he was very professional during filming and held his own with all the women who appear in "Bel Ami."

"Yes, he's extremely dashing, like an old-world movie star," Thurman admitted. "[But] he's got a lot of weight to him. I don't think he was knocked down by all the women they threw at him [during the filming of 'Bel Ami'], which I think is probably lucky for him."

Speaking to Pattinson's comments that we might see a lot of his bum in "Bel Ami," Thurman revealed she was not privy to any RPattz nakedness.

"I didn't see his bum once!" she said, laughing. "So I can't tell you about it. I don't know what happened to him with other characters, I have no idea, to tell you the truth," she said, adding that just because she didn't see it, doesn't mean it won't be in the film. "I haven't seen the film cut together, so there may or may not be Robert's bum."

Elizabeth Berkley told MTV News it's "the perfect time" for her latest project, "Ask Elizabeth," a self-help book for teenage girls that dropped Tuesday (March 21).

The book is an expansion of her website of the same name launched back in 2006. Berkley, who has been married to actor Greg Lauren since 2008, started the venture after her husband mentioned the amount of teen girls coming up to her for advice.

"I think this was, honestly, the perfect time to write this book, because as we all know, in the media, for years now, people have been talking about the issues with our teen girls, but no one has really been talking about how to help our girls," the actress told MTV News. "I think now more than ever, there's a great need. The ability to know that they're not alone, and other girls are going through it too and how they can help each other."

The "Showgirls" actress also mentions that good relationships between girls are important, saying that "friendship is a really big core part of the book, because I know for girls ... friendships run so deep and I know that girls identify themselves some much by the group of friends they hang out with."

When Berkley played Jessie Spano on the '90s hit "Saved by the Bell," friendship was a big theme of the show. But while she still gets approached by fans who want her to re-create the now-famous "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so ... scared" scene from "Saved by the Bell," she said that period of her life isn't addressed in "Ask Elizabeth."

"I don't talk about the 'Saved by the Bell' time in the book," she said. "I talk about other periods in my professional life, but more having to do with me now as a woman."

Odd Future's MellowHype Eat Tacos With Jay-Z

Also, the duo's Hodgy Beats tells MTV News, 'We're trying to put out two albums this year.'

While Tyler, the Creator may be Odd Future's outspoken mouthpiece and (currently missing) Earl Sweatshirt the group's most intriguing member, MellowHype's Hodgy Beats and Left Brain are no less talented and the pair are primed to start making a lot of noise themselves.

MellowHype consists of producer Left Brain and rapper Hodgy Beats, and they performed alongside Tyler during OF's watershed moment on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in February.

The duo first met in high school and went on to release two albums, YelloWhite and BlackendWhite, last year, while Hodgy released his solo The Dena Tape in 2009. Both MellowHype projects were well-received and they plan to re-release a re-mastered version of BlackendWhite through their new label, Fat Possum. And that's not all. When MTV News caught up with the duo in Austin during South by Southwest, Hodgy said they planned to drop a lot more material.

"We're trying to put out, like, two albums this year, even if it's not put out, we're trying to make two albums. I'll have my solo album, so for me it will be like three albums," Hodgy said. "We're pretty much already finished with the new MellowHype project, which is called MellowHype Numbers. We have 2 more songs to record and then it's done."

Hodgy said they had been working out of the studio in engineer Syd's house for the last four years, typically crank out three songs a day.

"I'll sit there, we'll build and the next thing you know we have a song. We have the chorus, we have the ad-libs finished, we have the hook, we have everything we want. It's not hard, because I'm not working. I'm just enjoying my task."

Despite the whirlwind Odd Future has been swept up in over the last few months, Hodgy said he was shocked by the impact their music has made. The L.A. group has appeared in and on the cover of several magazines, got "signed" in a Funny or Die video and arguably made the most noise coming out of Austin for SXSW.

For Left Brain, the highlight of his time in Texas was when the group enjoyed some "good-ass tacos" with Jay-Z. (The group first met with Jay, weeks ago, during their brief East Coast tour.)

"It was hard for me to look at Jay-Z for 10 minutes. Like, real sh--, this is the godfather of music," Hodgy said. " 'I just shook his hand in his house.' Honestly, it made me want to work harder. Jay-Z is amazing."

AUSTIN, Texas — In recent months, first with the chart-topping success of "Black and Yellow" and then with his underground hit "Taylor Gang," Wiz Khalifa seems to have gotten aggressive, a move that some see as a departure from his stony, laconic roots. But Wiz is not one of them.

" 'Taylor Gang' is not a departure for me or my style. Anybody who's been connected to my whole career, they know the variations of where I go and my beat selections," he told MTV News backstage at the Woodie Awards during South by Southwest. "Lex [Luger, who produced 'Taylor Gang'] has been a real big fan since back in the day, and I've been up on his music for a long time as well, so it's just been bound to happen. He's a great guy and he's really talented, so it's just good to see him getting the shine he deserves."

And to anyone who still doesn't agree with him, Wiz would like to point out that he's actually been working with Luger for a while now — he produced a handful of songs on Wiz's Cabin Fever mixtape — and that he wouldn't sign on to work with anyone if he doesn't feel like it would complement his music.

"I just find that little pocket where it matches up. I don't feel like I do anything that's inappropriate for my style, and he's always going to stay consistent as well," he said. "So when we meet up, you know, that's when it makes that magic. Cabin Fever has, like, six songs from Lex Luger on there, and people love that tape."

And with his hotly anticipated Rolling Papers album set to hit stores March 29, Khalifa said he's hoping fans won't bail on him just because he's gotten a bit aggro as of late. Though, if they do, he'll still continue doing what he does.

"It's definitely aggressive, but I've got songs on the album like 'On My Level,' 'Black and Yellow' is not really a calm song, so ... they've got to keep listening," he smiled. "Or, you know, they can stick there, but at the end of the day I know what I'm doing."

Chris Brown Shares His Favorite <i>F.A.M.E.</i> Tracks

On Tuesday (March 22), the day his album F.A.M.E. was released, Chris Brown struggled, and failed to keep the conversation on "Good Morning America" about his music. And while it is impossible to ignore his reported outburst backstage, following a line of questioning about Rihanna, the music is still worth talking about too. On F.A.M.E., Brown showcases his saccharine vocal pipes, and the accompanying production is designed to put swift feet in motion. Here, he shares his favorite tracks with MTV News:

"Look at Me Now"
"That's my first rap kind of video," Brown said of his lead single. "And I wanted to do old school; well, not old school, but like back in the day, when I was growing up as a kid. The '90s feel and big, baggy clothes. It's abstract, a lot of art and graffiti. I tried to blend it all as one to make it exciting."

"Beautiful People" (featuring Benny Benassi)
"It's my new song and featuring the producer," Brown explained. "We got a chance to work together and with Jean Baptiste, as well. It wasn't a selfish record, it wasn't me bragging or boasting or talking about cars or money or girls. It was me being able to inspire people with dance music. We have a lot of tragic things going on and the world needs to come together as a whole and stop the negativity."

"All Back"
"It's more live," Brown said. "It's one of those incredible records that have more feeling and soul. And you get a chance to hear my vocal ability on it."

"Next to You" (featuring Justin Bieber)
"Being able to collaborate with him was great," Brown said. "He's a young, energetic cat. Being able to work with him and the fanbase he has is incredible. [Laughs.] I know a lot of little girls are gonna like the record. It's gonna be incredible to see ... not my protégé, but he's doing his thing at a young age, and I was dong mine at a young age, so being able to see him come up is dope."

"Bomb" (featuring Wiz Khalifa)
"It was one of those records that was spur of the moment, so it's confusing at the same time," Brown said. "Jean Baptiste had brought the beat in and was like, 'This beat is crazy.' So, then I did a verse, and Wiz came by the studio just to chill, and I asked him, 'Do you want to put a verse on it?' And he was like, 'Sure.' It was just all of us hanging out. We build those relations off of working and our environment. It's not even about records or being an artist, it's just about us hanging out. So it was just a fun, fun track. And it came out to what it is, the bomb. [Laughs.]"

Ryan Leslie Gets Burned By A Bad Girl On 'Joan Of Arc'

'That record is based on a personal experience,' R.Les tells MTV News of his betrayal ballad.

Ryan Leslie may be best known as a ladies' man (and a child prodigy; he graduated Harvard at 19!), but the singer and producer doesn't always get the girl.

In fact, on his latest track, "Joan of Arc," the Harlem-based crooner waxes poetically about one he had to let get away.

"I wake up to detect messages in my email/ This what I get for messing with pretty females," he sings over stuttered production. "It's a crazy life, yeah it's a mad world/ Where good dudes will betray you over a bad girl/ And bad girls'll take advantage of good dudes."

The song ends with an actual voicemail message Ryan Leslie received from police asking him to come in for questioning.

"That record is actually based on a personal experience that I went through over that week," the newly independent artist told MTV News about the track, which he recorded and released in one day. "I actually spent that week in the studio with Ne-Yo, and [Fabolous] came through. That's how you know I was really going through something because of the creative output. I did four records with Ne-Yo [and the] 'You Be Killin' Em' remix and the 'Joan of Arc' record all in the span of five days."

"Joan of Arc" is darker and more sinister than Leslie's standard fare, but he manages to execute a kiss-off as effective as Chris Brown's "Deuces." He delivers chilly lines more in tune with a rapper than an R&B singer: "They say in love and war, all's fair/ But when you break up and go out, yeah, they all stare / Obfuscating the real reason we've grown apart/ You played the victim so well, Joan of Arc."

"There's just an ability to story-tell through rap and poetry, where sometimes you don't want a note to it," R.Les explained. "Maybe in certain moments in life you want to sing something. But when you're upset sometimes or when you really want to get your point across, you don't want to sing to someone, you want to directly let them know what's going on and that's what the 'Joan of Arc' record is about."

Patrick Stump Conflicted By Rise Against Matchup In Musical March Madness

The friends are going head-to-head in the second round of the MTV tournament, right now on the Newsroom blog.

On Monday, when we revealed the second-round matchups in our Musical March Madness tournament, few clashes stood out quite like the #4 Rise Against/ #12 Patrick Stump tilt in the Midwest region.

After all, this is a battle between friends. Both acts hail from Chicago, both have come up together (RA frontman Tim McIlrath was actually in a band with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz back in the day), and both share a respect for the other. So, it's nothing short of cruel that there can be only one winner.

Second-round voting is now under way in the Midwest region over on the Newsroom blog!

And that sentiment is shared by Stump himself, who spoke to MTV News about his MMM matchup Tuesday morning (March 22). He is conflicted, to say the very least.

"It's kind of one of those win/lose kind of things ... there's really not a clear victory," he said. "Because if I lose, I guess I lose — 'Hey, no big deal' — because I like Rise Against. I would've voted for Rise Against if I weren't in it anyway, so it's a conflict. ... I don't know how honest I want to be, because Rise Against is a pretty good band. I will be very happy with whomever wins this.

"In a perfect situation, we [wouldn't be] up against each other," he continued. "Because if I didn't have a record coming out and I wasn't in this election at all, it would be fun to watch, and I would be cheering for Rise Against. This is, by definition, a conflict of interest. ... What do I choose? I don't know."

While he's quick to throw his support behind Rise Against — a tact his FOB mate Wentz employed in his first-round matchup against the band, much to his detriment — Stump isn't about to go quietly into the night. In fact, he's in MMM to win.

"I'm saying, 'Vote your conscience.' Vote what you really feel, man," he laughed. "I know I would vote for Rise Against if I weren't me. Well, that's not true. I know I would vote for Rise Against if I weren't a Patrick fan. And I am, because I'm me."

But even if he doesn't win, Stump's already happy with his MMM showing. Mostly because he didn't even expect to beat Neon Trees in the opening round. And really, at this point, anything can happen. After all, as the lone 12 seed left in the tournament, he's already the underdog of underdogs.

"If I make it past this, I honestly don't know what I'll do," he said. "I'm really surprised I beat Neon Trees, and I know I was kind of goofing around and stuff, but, for real, I didn't expect to have any chance against them. I was pretty shocked. I'm Mr. Upset."

MTV's Musical March Madness has moved on to the second round! Voting is now open and will continue until Sunday, when we'll begin the Sweet 16. All winners are determined by your votes, so if your favorite act is still in the tournament, it's be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM — but get ready, things only get tougher from here on out!

It's hard to think of anyone who could offer advice to someone as critically acclaimed and rewarded as British acting icon Dame Helen Mirren. She is, after all, halfway to her EGOT (winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award), but when the Oscar-winning star of "The Queen" takes the stage for the first time April 9 as the host of "Saturday Night Live," she'll have some help from a group of "SNL" veterans.

She'll be joined by six-time musical guests the Foo Fighters, who will be promoting their upcoming album, Wasting Light, which hits stores just a few days later. The Foos are still riding high and in the running of MTV's Musical March Madness, trying to retain their #1 ranking as they face off against Disturbed in the second round.

Vote for your favorite bands now over on the Newsroom blog.

Mirren will be promoting her upcoming remake of "Arthur," which stars Russell Brand as the title character memorably portrayed as a shambling, careless drunk by the late Dudley Moore in the 1981 version.

She won't be the only Oscar winner to grace the "SNL" stage next month either: Fellow British entertainment royalty Sir Elton John will both perform and host the show on April 2, marking his first musical visit to "SNL" since 1982.

John will be joined by his musical pal and creative partner Leon Russell, and the pair are expected to highlight cuts from their acclaimed joint album, The Union. John inducted Russell into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week, and both artists have been enjoying a bit of a musical renaissance thanks to the album.

Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables

Indie LP: Return of 4eva

Headliner: Big K.R.I.T.

Key cameos: TBD

Essential info: Big K.R.I.T.'s highly anticipated mixtape Return of 4eva was set to drop on Tuesday (March 22), but hours before its scheduled debut the Mississippi-bred artist's manager sent a message over Twitter announcing that the project's release was being pushed back until this Monday.

You can't blame the newly minted XXL cover star — he along with 10 other artists were selected to grace the front of the annual Freshman edition of the magazine — for taking his time: He's producing, mixing and mastering each of the recordings himself.

K.R.I.T. says he actually got his passion production via MTV.

"I couldn't afford beats," he told Mixtape Daily. "I was 13 and I couldn't afford to go to the studio and I couldn't afford to pay for beats. So "MTV Music Generator" came out for PlayStation and that was it. I was like, 'I done made it.' I recorded to a karaoke machine, looping the 'MTV Music Generator' beat and that was the start. I was like, 'I could make my own beats and rap? I can mass produce music on my own, I'm good.' And that's where it began."

Other Heat This Week » Pusha-T - "Fear of God"
» Mac Miller - "Best Day Ever"
» The DJ KL - "Nate Dogg: All Doggs Go to Heaven"
» Soulja Boy - "1Up"
» Frank Ocean - "Nostalgia, Ultra"

Robert Pattinson To Present At Academy Of Country Music Awards

RPattz will appear with 'Water for Elephants' co-star Reese Witherspoon at April 3 show.
By Gil Kaufman

Robert Pattinson isn't following in the footsteps of fellow thespian Gwyneth Paltrow and going country. Though the "Twilight" star has dabbled in music, he's only expected to hand out the hardware, not pick up a guitar, at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas on April 3.

According to People magazine, Pattinson will appear with his "Water for Elephants" co-star Reese Witherspoon as a presenter at the show, which will air on CBS.

The onscreen couple will appear alongside hosts Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton, along with other presenters Nancy O'Dell and Ryan Seacrest. Among the performers on the broadcast will be Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown Band with James Taylor, Alabama, Ronnie Dunn, Sara Evans, Martina McBride and the Entertainer of the Year nominees: Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban.

Pattinson is used to sharing the stage with his "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart, but he seems perfectly comfortable with Nashville native Witherspoon as well.

"It felt like it was kind of magical in many ways, because we were out in the desert shooting," he said of the shoot for "Elephants" with Witherspoon. "There was nothing from the modern world around. It was a different experience for me. It wasn't in a studio or anything."

He might also press her for tips on appealing to the country crowd, something Reese knows plenty about thanks to her Academy Award win for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic "Walk the Line."

How do you think RPattz will do in the country-music world? Let us know in the comments!
