Sleigh Bells Are Ready For Linkin Park In MTV's Musical March Madness

On Monday, we revealed the bracket for the 2011 Musical March Madness tournament, an NCAA-style battle that pits the 64 bands that matter most in rock against one another, with ultimate glory — and a really nice trophy — up for grabs.

Vote for your favorite bands now over on the Newsroom blog.

Of course, with the tournament now under way, we've already heard from a long list of championship contenders, including 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park and Panic! at the Disco. A handful of underdogs are throwing their hats in the race too, like Adele and Brooklyn's own Sleigh Bells, who may be the longest of long shots to win it all, especially since they drew a tough opening-round matchup against #1 seed Linkin Park.

That said, it's not like the Bells are the MMM equivalent of UAB or VCU; they actually deserve to be in the tournament. And not only that, but they think they have a real shot at shocking the world, by knocking off the heavily favored Linkin and whomever crosses their path next.

Their key — at least according to frontwoman Alexis Krauss — is embracing their inner underdogs, and maybe breaking out the occasional foreign object to secure victory.

"Clearly, we're the underdog. I mean, we're dealing with Linkin Park. I don't quite know how we could compete, so thank you MTV for that," Krauss laughed. "They certainly have many, many years on us. But I'm appealing to you as the underdog to try to go out at least fighting a good fight. So [I'm] rallying the troops [and] reminding you that we do like to wield baseball bats and switchblades. I don't know if you've seen our videos, so Linkin Park, watch out, 'cause we're Sleigh Bells and we're badass."

So can Sleigh Bells lead an underdog charge? Or will the heavyweights rule the day? Well, that's up to you, really. Voting in all first-round MMM matchups is now under way over on the Newsroom blog and closes Sunday at midnight.

MTV's Musical March Madness tournament is back! Voting on all first-round matchups has begun on the Newsroom blog and continues until Sunday. All winners are determined by your votes, so if your favorite act made the cut, it'll be up to you to guide them to glory. Robert Pattinson Wonders Why He's At The Oscars In His #3 MTV Moment

If you ask us, Robert Pattinson officially arrived in Hollywood when "Twilight" won five Golden Popcorn statues at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards — including RPattz's nods for Best Kiss, Best Fight and Breakthrough Male Performance. But others might argue his Tinseltown coming-out party occurred a few months earlier.

In late February '09, after a weeklong series of rumors had whipped the Twi-nation into a frenzy, Pattinson walked onto an Academy Awards red carpet for the first time. He was not there because he was nominated, but simply because the Academy could not ignore the vampire phenomenon that had ignited the box office — and too many tween hearts to count — the previous fall. It was the biggest night in Hollywood, after all, and its biggest new star just had to be there. Not that he could quite wrap his head around the idea.

"It's insane," Pattinson exclaimed when we caught up with him on the carpet. "When they first told me about this, I was like, 'No, no, no, no, no, you're joking' — or 'I'm going to have to do something really stupid like get gunged!' "

Assuming he'd need to get doused with slime to justify an Oscars appearance, for that reason alone, this awards-season moment deserves to make our countdown of favorite Pattinson moments before the debut of "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" at 8:56 p.m. ET on Friday. But RPattz's self-deprecating humor aside, it was at the Oscars that his status as the rising young actor in town was solidified.

During the ceremony, he took the stage alongside Amanda Seyfried to present a montage of the year's romantic films, everything from "Mamma Mia!" to "Revolutionary Road" to, yes, "Twilight." Yet even though footage from the film that made him a star played at the Oscars, he couldn't quite believe the situation.

"I'm so surprised that it worked out the way it did," he told us of becoming a crush-worthy Hollywood presence. "I was thinking the whole time, 'I don't really have the personality to fit into that.' I'm not really afraid of it. I don't even know how to play up that. I don't know if I could ever be cast in a heartthrob role, apart from 'Twilight,' which I didn't know was a heartthrob role."

Don't miss "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" this Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Tune in to see RPattz introduce a new "Water for Elephants" clip, followed by a live 30-minute interview on MTV.com. Tweet questions using the hashtag #askrob to get in the conversation!

Everybody wants a piece of Tyler the Creator and his Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All crew. From record execs to the cool kids on the block, people know a sure thing when they see it.

In fact, the group is one of the main reasons Donald Glover signed on to host the mtvU Woodies, airing live on mtvU, MTV and MTV2 on Wednesday (March 16) at midnight from Austin, Texas' South by Southwest Music and Film Festival. The girls, the music and the SXSW rituals of BBQ, booze and begging for deals? Not so much.

"This whole thing is just a ploy for me to meet Odd Future Wolf Gang," the "Community" star admitted of the performers.

In addition to Odd Future, Wiz Khalifa, Sleigh Bells and Two Door Cinema Club will also perform at the Woodies. Matt & Kim, Lupe Fiasco, Dev, Chiddy Bang, Skylar Grey and MTV's "My Life as Liz" star Liz Lee will present awards, and MNDR will serve as the house DJ.

California's Odd Future have blown up seemingly overnight with their blend of shocking rhymes and energetic stage shows. They recently graced the cover of music-trade magazine Billboard.

In the interview, OFWGKTA frontman Tyler spoke about their rising buzz and the pressure to deliver on the expectations.

"I could be a complete failure come June," he told the magazine. "Goblin could brick. Everyone could hate it. The hype could be over. I could be back to trying to fill out junior-college [applications] ... But I don't see that happening. I see Grammys."

The 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards will air live on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU tonight at midnight ET/PT from the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. For more information — and to vote for the winner of the "Breaking Woodie" award — check out Woodies.MTV.com.

Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson Talk 'Wackiest' 'American Idol' Judge

Anyone who's been watching the bright and shiny new season of "American Idol" would likely agree that the addition of new judge Steven Tyler has added a wacky and even more unpredictable element to the show.

MTV News caught up with the man in question, as well as fellow judge Randy Jackson, at the "American Idol" event at the PaleyFest, an annual event that celebrates TV's biggest and brightest names both in front of and behind the camera. While there, we asked them which judge they thought was the wackiest.

Not surprisingly, the duo veered on- and off-topic, which made for an entertaining, if random chat.

"Ryan is the weirdest," Jackson said. "And he has a little bit of a B.O. going on, but oh, we shouldn't talk about that. What do you think of the judges, Steven?"

"Wow, I mean, you haven't seen the side of Jennifer [Lopez] that I've seen," Tyler said. "I knew it existed when I watched 'The Back-Up Plan' and I said I would only do it if she did, because I'd already met [Randy]," Tyler explained of seeing Lopez's romantic comedy. "And when I met him at lunch, after five minutes, I thought all the cameras in the world could be rolling so I knew I'd jump into this. But Jennifer, oh my God — look out."

Tyler went on to say that the upcoming slew of live shows don't make him nervous or worried in any way.

"I'm all right with it. I'm having a blast!" he said. "Don't forget I'm addicted to adrenaline: anything that scares me, I love it. I love it. I love blushing and being told I'm wrong."

What do you think of Steven Tyler's "Idol" judging skills so far? Tell us in the comments!

Celebrity Favorites: Chad Ochocinco

When NFL standout-turned-reality star Chad Ochocinco puts on his Beats by Dre headphones, his playlist includes plenty of local talent.

He cited Miami transplant Lil Wayne and homegrown MC Rick Ross as favorites. The charismatic football player was effusive in his praise for the Teflon Don lyricist.

"Right now, Rick Ross, he's hot," Ochocinco told Mixtape Daily. "He's doing his thing. He's from Miami, like me, born and raised. We grew up in similar situations; we grew up in the same area. And his career is blossoming."

That, it certainly is. Ross recently announced that he signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records for his Maybach Music Group collective, which includes new affiliates Wale, Meek Mill and Pill.

The 305 MC is working on a compilation project called Self Made that will highlight the full MMG roster, the rap group Triple C's and R&B singer Masspike Miles.

"We are thrilled to be in business with Rick Ross," Warner Bros. Records CEO Todd Moscowitz said in a statement. "We were drawn to his hustle. Ross is an entrepreneur who built his company from the ground up. He's a music magnate, a lightning rod and an empire builder. Our partnership with him is about building a brand that endures. We back his vision all the way and are ready to give him the resources he needs to pursue that vision."

30 Seconds To Mars Are Taking Musical March Madness 'Very Seriously'

On Monday, we unveiled our bracket for the 2011 Musical March Madness tournament, a list of the 64 bands that matter most in rock, going head-to-head for championship glory (and a really nice trophy).

Vote for your favorite bands now over on the Newsroom blog.

That reveal followed a week of trash talk from several tournament hopefuls, including Panic! at the Disco, Linkin Park and last-year's champs, Coheed and Cambria ... all of whom believed they have what it takes to take home the title.

But through all that chatter, one band remained silent: 30 Seconds to Mars, who last year rode the fanatic support of their Echelon fans all the way to the Sweet 16, where were knocked off in excruciating overtime fashion by My Chemical Romance. But with the 2011 tournament finally upon us, 30 STM have finally spoken up.

The way they see it, all the other bands have been writing checks their mouths can't cash, and in the 2011 MMM, 30 Seconds to Mars are out to shut them up. With the help of their Echelon, of course.

"So I've heard some of the other bands talking about 'teamwork' and 'bribery' and kind of making jokes and not taking this very seriously, but we over in our camp take it very seriously," 30 STM guitarist Tomo Milicevic said. "The reason we're going to win is because of one word: Echelon."

So, can the Echelon carry 30 Seconds to Mars all the way to the title? Or will they come up short against the fervent fanbases of Coheed, Panic!, Tokio Hotel and MCR? Well, that's really up to you, isn't it? Voting is now open in all first-round MMM matchups over at the Newsroom blog, and closes Sunday at midnight. May the best band win.

MTV's Musical March Madness tournament is back! Voting on all first-round matchups begins this afternoon on the Newsroom blog and continues until Sunday. All winners are determined by your votes, so if your favorite act made the cut, it'll be up to you to guide them to glory. A Tribe Called Quest Say Nas 'Initiated' Documentary

Posted: 15 Mar 2011 06:08 AM PDT

But soon, the crew recalls to MTV News, Michael Rapaport took the reins.
By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway

A Tribe Called Quest were approached with the idea of doing a documentary, and they couldn't have been happier with the producer. Fellow Queens native Nas first introduced the idea of capturing the story of one of hip-hop's greatest groups of all time.

But by the time filming began, Nas receded into the background as actor Michael Rapaport took control of the project.

" 'I want to shoot a documentary on you,' " Q-Tip told MTV News, recalling a conversation with Rapaport. "I had already breached Nas with the guys, and everyone was loving that idea. So I was thinking in my head ... It'd be great to have someone we respect tell our story, who's a part of it as well, and then Mike's enthusiasm. I spoke to everyone about it. It was some hesitation [about Rapaport's involvement]. ... I think it was because Nas had initiated it."

Jarobi, who joined Sway by phone, added: "The Nas involvement kind of sweetened the deal for everybody."

According to Tribe DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad, his reservations came from Rapaport not being part of the hip-hop community.

"My hesitation was purely from a position that we're bringing someone from the outside to be a part of the inside life," he said. "We have to make sure that people understand who this family is and capture it and deliver it the same way we live our lives. It didn't matter if it was a rapper or not. Nas being part of it is good, 'cause it's someone from the inside who, from a producer's perspective, makes sure everything is what it's supposed to be."

The project has been controversial, with Q-Tip speaking out against Rapaport and the actor still moving forward with the doc, called "Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest."

Tip said the friction stemmed in part from the group's lack of control over the story, despite being listed as producers. An e-mail from the production team was inadvertently sent Tip's way, the rapper told MTV News, detailing plans to silence the group. That was one too many red flags for him.

"All of this stuff is going on, and we're still trying to move forward in good faith, and we see this e-mail, inadvertently, which was a godsend," he said. "I believe that that was the universe giving that to us and showing us who we were dealing with."

Stick with MTV News all week as we reveal more of our interview with A Tribe Called Quest and their concerns about the "Beats, Rhymes and Life" documentary.

Exclusive: All That Remains Send Video From Japan After Earthquake

Singer Phil Labonte tours picked-over convenience store, feels aftershock at the Tokyo airport.
By Gil Kaufman

Massachusetts metalcore band All That Remains had barely arrived in Tokyo last Friday for a soundcheck for their show that night when a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake shook Japan and they found themselves caught in the midst of one of the worst disasters to ever befall the island nation.

While Tokyo was mostly spared the devastation that nearly wiped out a number of northern cities closer to the epicenter following the deadly combination of the largest quake to hit Japan combined with a massive tsunami, ATR singer Phil Labonte and his crew definitely felt the ground shake. They ran down five flights to the street to see what was going on as the light fixtures and doors shook back and forth violently in the building. As they hit the street, they could see skyscrapers swaying from the initial trembler and several strong aftershocks.

In an exclusive video diary recorded for MTV News on his iPhone, Labonte described the aftermath of the quake and the challenges the band faced in trying to catch a flight out of the shattered nation Saturday.

The clip opens with images of confused and scared-looking Japanese citizens standing in the street as aftershocks continued to rattle the city. "Our area around [the venue] wasn't really affected in the way [the northern city of] Sendai was. There was no tsunami, there was no major damage to any buildings," he said, noting that you could sense "something has gone on" when you walked around on the streets outside his hotel.

After a large aftershock in the middle of the night on Friday that set off alarms in the hotel, Labonte said he packed up his bags as a precaution in case he had to run outside in an emergency. "That's really all that I've been doing is watching the news," he said, before walking across the street to tour a neighborhood convenience store.

Confirming reports, Labonte filmed images of store shelves stripped bare of food and water, with row upon row of essentials snatched up by worried citizens. "As you can see, a lot of food is not here," he said. "You imagine all these shelves would be full in one of the most modern cities in the world. ... Most of the water's been picked away clean ... and it happened pretty fast too."

While awaiting their flight to San Francisco at the Narita International Airport on Saturday morning, Labonte said things were initially calm. With the exception of a few bedrolls laid out on the floor by people who seemed stuck at the airport, he said things looked pretty business-as-usual despite the emerging picture of the massive damage done to northern cities such as Sendai and the then-burgeoning threat posed by failing nuclear-reactor cooling systems.

"There's some places where it looks like people have been camping out, trying to get out. I guess there's been a lot of delayed flights," he said. With nearly eight hours to go before their flight left, Labonte checked back in a short time later to report a strong aftershock, which he said caused the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the departure terminal to flex in and out. "It's still a pretty active situation. It's changing pretty much by the minute," he said.

Finally, the band made it onto the flight, and Labonte reported that the band and crew were all OK. "I should take a second to send our deepest sympathy to all the people that have had loved ones lost. ... It's really awful and we're very fortunate to not only have gotten out of Japan with no injuries and survived with not a scratch on anyone, but to be able to actually document this."

A number of artists, from Katy Perry and Lady Gaga to the Jonas Brothers, Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and Diddy have urged fans to donate to the Red Cross and offered their condolences to the victims of the natural disaster.

For more information on what you can do to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan, head to MTV Act, or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Seann William Scott, best known for his breakout role in the "American Pie" franchise, has entered a treatment facility for undisclosed issues.

The actor's reps told People magazine in a statement: "Seann William Scott has voluntarily admitted himself for proactive treatment to address health and personal issues. He appreciates the support of his many fans at this time."

It is unknown where he is being treated or what prompted the decision.

Scott was most recently seen in the 2010 Kevin Smith buddy comedy "Cop Out," starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. He also recently wrapped production on "Goon," a hockey comedy written by Judd Apatow regulars Jay Baruchel and Evan Goldberg. Scott stars as Doug, a small-town bouncer who, after physically defending his best friend (Baruchel) at a hockey game, is recruited to play the enforcer for a minor-league team.

While Scott has worked steadily since his breakout "Pie" role in the late '90s, movie audiences will always associate him with the lovably inappropriate Steve Stifler. MTV News caught up with the actor last year while he was promoting "Cop Out" to talk about a potential fourth "American Pie" movie. While he was optimistic about the possibility and said the proposed story line "could be great," he admitted some reluctance about rejoining the "American Pie" franchise.

"I did three of them," he said. "I had so much fun and loved the character, [but] I don't want to be known as that character forever. Now I'm realizing that I probably will be known as that character forever."

Simon Cowell Promises 'Best Judging Panel' On 'X Factor'

By Jocelyn Vena

This fall, Simon Cowell and his still-unnamed panel of judges will assault television screens with theAmerican version of the hit U.K. talent show "X Factor." The former "American Idol" judge wouldn't cop to any of the names being tossed around as possible judges, but did divulge that he's really stepped up his game for who he hopes will make up the final panel.

"It's gonna be a balance between guys and girls, and it should be a balance between people who have been singers and also, like me, have worked behind the scenes and know what they're talking about it," Cowell told MTV News. "It will be the best judging panel so far. I promise you: If I get the people I want, I'm really happy."

With nothing yet set in stone, Cowell did lay out the ground rules for securing a spot on that coveted panel, revealing that fans should know more soon.

"I think you've got to put yourself out there and, as a priority, it is about the contestants to begin with. You've got to have a sense of humor. You've got to work hard because you're gonna be mentoring the contestants on the final stages of the competition, which basically means you're going to be responsible for what they sing, what they wear, how they behave," he explained. "You're like a manager/producer for up to 10 weeks, and I think it's important that you have to have people on the panel that have made people into stars as well. And so you've got to be different, you've got to be original."

But finding those people hasn't been as easy as he imagined it would be. "This has been harder than I thought," he said. "You've got to negotiate people's deals, you got to make sure you've met as many people as possible, and you got to find the right chemistry. I've got it in my mind now. I think of who I want this panel to be, and within the week, I think we're gonna announce it."

When photos of Miley Cyrus outside of Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hit the Internet on Tuesday (March 15), gossip blogs claimed the star was stumbling around the L.A.-area hotspot after a night of partying. But sources close to Cyrus tell MTV News the rumors are all wrong.

Miley was in a meeting with producer Dr. Luke at the hotel, where they discussed writing music for other artists. Luke and Cyrus worked together on her hit "Party in the U.S.A." According to sources, the teen superstar was actually blinded by the flashing lights of the paparazzi, not stumbling, as had been reported earlier on Tuesday.

Last week, Cyrus made headlines defending her mom against paparazzi gathered outside of the California Chicken Cafe in West Hollywood, California. She confronted one of the photographers, telling him, "You just hit my mom with your camera, don't you ever do that again. You just almost hurt my mom. Don't you ever even think about it, for real."

Cyrus has often expressed her displeasure with the celebrity photogs. "I just [want] people to know, I think in pictures I always look upset. It's because these cameras are following me. I just think it's really kind of unfair," she shared in a September video blog.

"I know there are some people that maybe like that attention, but I'm not one of them. I really just want to be able to go on walks and enjoy where I live. ... The paparazzi really frustrate me, and it makes me really upset that I'm being followed around by men that I don't know, and for anyone else, it would be considered stalking. I don't know who those guys are. I don't know if they're good guys or bad guys. I don't necessarily care; I don't want anyone following me."

In spite of the unwanted media attention, Cyrus is already having a good 2011. She recently showed off her funny side as a host on "Saturday Night Live" and she has two flicks, "LOL" and "So Undercover," set for release this year.

David Slade To Direct New Daredevil Film

Director is best known for '30 Days of Night' and 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.'

Director David Slade is shifting his filmmaking focus from vampires to superheroes. According to Variety, 20th Century Fox has tapped the "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "30 Days of Night" director for their next "Daredevil" film.

Undisclosed sources close to the project told the industry trade publication that the untitled film will be a continuation of the 2003 version, which starred Ben Affleck, but will not contain any material from that film, which was mostly panned by critics.

Much like familiar comic book heroes like Batman, Superman and Spider-Man, Daredevil, a.k.a. Matt Murdoch, is a crime-fighting vigilante. However, unlike his fellow costumed brethren, Daredevil is blind. The positive thing about the radioactive liquid that caused him to lose his sight, however, is that his four remaining senses are heightened beyond normal human ability.

Given Slade's résumé, which is full of fantasy and action, he's a great choice to pump new life into the hugely popular comic series. Before landing the "Daredevil" gig, Slade was also rumored to be in line to direct the next installment of "Wolverine," which went to "Black Swan" director Darren Aronofsky.

Fox hasn't announced a release date or a title for this new film, but until then, Slade still has his hands full with his third vampire-themed flick, "The Last Voyage of the Demeter," a long-delayed film that revolves around a ship carrying a mysterious entity that starts to pick off passengers one by one. Sir Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace are the names attached to the project so far.

Chiddy Bang Predict 'Barbra Streisand' Could Snag Woodie

Duo's 'Opposite of Adults' up against Duck Sauce for Best Video.
By Gil Kaufman

There's no reason Philly alternative hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang should be afraid of a matronly 68-year-old standards singer. But, on the eve of the 2011 Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas, "Chiddy" Anamege and Noah "Xaphoon Jones" Beresin are sweatin' the competition in the Best Video category thanks to "Barbra Streisand."

The Babs they fear is not, of course, the "Yentl" star herself, but the insanely catchy song that borrows her name from DJ duo Duck Sauce, whose video features cameos from Kanye West, the Roots, Chromeo and Vampire Weekend.

"I think the biggest competitor in our category is gonna be 'Barbra Streisand,' " Beresin told MTV News about the video that accompanies the poppy dance track. "That video is crazy. It's like, 'Oh man, we're friends with this famous guy' ... They've got so many cameos, and it's shot really well."

While Bang's clever clip for the MGMT-sampling "Opposite of Adults" has its own merits, not limited to their cartoonishly gigantic heads, they've got plenty of stiff competition in the category from some other stellar clips, as well. They're up against the Black Keys' lauded schoolyard beat down in "Tighten Up," Vampire Weekend's equally cameo-heavy (Jake Gyllenhaal, Lil Jon, RZA and Joe Jonas) "Giving Up the Gun" tennis throwdown and the Gorillaz' Bruce Willis-starring desert death race, "Stylo."

In fact, theirs is one of the only clips in that bunch that doesn't have a marquee cameo, so maybe their lo-fi indie sensibility will win the day after all.

Performers at this year's show, hosted by Donald Glover, include the Foo Fighters, Wiz Khalifa, Odd Future, Sleigh Bells and Two Door Cinema Club.

As in previous years, Woodie winners will be determined by fan voting. Voting in most Woodie categories closed Tuesday (March 15), but votes will continue to be counted in the Breaking Woodie category right up until the show.

The 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards will air live on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU from the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday, March 16, at midnight ET/PT.

Tyra Banks may be a successful media mogul, but that didn't stop her from registering for classes at Harvard Business School. Turns out, she thought she could learn a thing or two.

"I started last summer and I didn't really talk about it. It was very incognito, my name and everything, but I decided to talk about it [now]. I think it's a positive thing, especially for girls to see that you can still continue to educate yourself and you can still be fabulous and fierce and celebrate your femininity," she told MTV News while promoting her new fashion website, TypeF.com.

Banks hopes that by putting a face to those fiercely educated young ladies, they'll also feel empowered. "I think a lot of girls think it's either/or, even at my age, I feel that it's never too late to continue your education," she explained. "I can't just rely only on my gut. I have to have the knowledge that my professors have in order to take it to the next level."

With her successful reality show, "America's Next Top Model," still a hit, and all of that school work on her schedule, Banks is adding one more job to her r ésumé: novelist.

"I'm actually writing a book right now and it comes out in September. ... I'm writing a book called 'Model Land' and it comes out this fall in September and it's about a modeling academy on the top of this mountain in the middle of the town called Matopia. And in order to get this school to become an "intoxicbella" — that's what I'm calling supermodels in the book that have superpowers — you have to have very narrowly defined beauty, very cookie-cutter," she teased, adding that there are some female characters in the three-part series who shake things up.

"Four girls find themselves in this school that are not supposed to be there at all," she said. "And over the course of the book, they change what beauty means across the world."

Anything could happen during "MTV First: Robert Pattinson," our live chat with the "Twilight" star on Friday. He did, after all, once drop two curses in less than two seconds during a live interview with us on the "Eclipse" red carpet. There's no telling what might pop out of RPattz's mouth during the live, 30-minute interview.

Whatever does happen, though, you can count on it being entertaining. In his own kinda awkward, always endearing way, Pattinson has a knack for delivering memorable sound bites. As we count down the days until "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" at 8:56 p.m. ET on Friday, we plucked out our 10 favorite quotes of his, ranging from those strange days when RPattz wasn't yet a household name to recent comments about a "Breaking Dawn" photo of him in bed with Kristen Stewart.

10. "This is the first time, really, that I'll be confronted with a bunch of Twilighters. I guess I can see for myself. But I'm kind of nervous about it." — At Comic-Con in 2008

9. "The worst part is you've got to work almost every single day, which is something I'm never going to get used to." — On the downside of being Edward Cullen, at the Los Angeles premiere of "New Moon"

8. "I didn't see Taylor until just a little bit before we started shooting. When he came back, I had the same reaction as everybody else. I was like, 'Jeez, now I have to go to the gym!' — Speaking to MTV Radio about seeing Taylor Lautner's pre-"New Moon" physical transformation for the first time

7. "It made me feel really tough, really hard. I don't think I've ever won a fight in my life." — On winning Best Fight with Cam Gigandet at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards

6. "To be honest, I should've been nominated in a few more categories." — On "New Moon" only receiving five noms at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards

5. "Before 'Twilight,' I did any movie that I got [offered], and you'd try and make the best of it afterward. But now you're expected to come into the movie and provide not only economic viability, but also a performance as well. You can't just mess around. People are like, 'We're employing you to be here, as a star and an actor.' It's difficult, and it's scary." — On the pressures that come with superstardom.

4. "The idea of kind of doing this big romantic kiss, like Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams did [for 'The Notebook'], I couldn't do that. I'd be so embarrassed! So I just thought, 'We better do something dumb.' But then Kristen didn't want to do something dumb!" — On his awkward smooch with KStew while accepting the win for Best Kiss at the 2010 Movie Awards

3. "I love how they release that for the first one. They just give it all away." — Speaking at the Golden Globes about the publication of a photo of Edward and Bella in bed on their honeymoon

2. "I like the story about me being pregnant. It was in some Australian magazine, on the front page! I was like, 'Wow, that's just [insane].' And it's not even ironic. I don't even think the article [tried to justify it]; it was just a headline. The article was just like, nothing." — On the strange things he learns when Googling himself

1. "Lot of my crack in it!" — On his onscreen nudity in the upcoming drama, "Bel Ami"

NEW YORK — Justin Bieber's wax statues are here! Three statues were unveiled at Madame Tussauds wax museums around the world, in New York, Amsterdam and London. Bieber was on hand in London to catch a glimpse of his wax likeness. And, as promised, the statues feature Bieber's old, swooping hairstyle.

At the London unveiling, Bieber tweeted about how excited he was for the wax statues. "Arrived at @tussaudslondon to see my WAX figure!! the 1st time i saw a wax figure was in nyc and all we could do was look thru the glass," he wrote. "Now we are here in London and they r about to show my figure here and in amsterdam and in nyc at the one we looked thru the glass. #DREAMBIG."

Bieber's statue in New York is featured alongside his pal and mentor Usher in the VIP room. The NYC Bieber statue is wearing a black vest by will.i.am and pants by Balenciaga. The clothes were donated by Bieber himself. MTV News was on hand at the New York unveiling, where fans eagerly caught a glimpse of their idol's figurine.

So how accurate is the wax figure? "It's pretty good. I love Justin Bieber, and this is pretty hot," gushed Libby Walker, who said she also attended the Miley Cyrus wax-figure unveiling in 2008. "He cut his hair recently, so it's not exactly the same, but I like his hair. A lot of girls like it more with the hair flip. It's such an honor to be here to support him."

"I'm honored to be getting my own wax figures," Bieber previously said about joining fellow pop stars like Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers at Madame Tussauds. "To be immortalized in wax alongside some of my idols — Michael Jackson, Prince, Beyoncé and my mentor, Usher — is incredibly exciting and very cool."

What do you think of the Bieber wax figures? Let us know in the comments!

With only four weeks left of filming for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part I," one of the key scenes left to be shot is the wedding scene between Edward and Bella. Now comes word that the scene will be shot during the first week of April in Vancouver.

The news was revealed by Gil Birmingham, who plays Billy Black, during a chat at a "Twilight Saga" fan convention in Nashville over the weekend, according to AceShowbiz.com. Filming for "Breaking Dawn" is scheduled to wrap in mid-April, making the wedding scene one of the last in the film's production. Late last week, the film's production was suspended when tsunami warnings threatened production on Vancouver Island.

MTV News had not received confirmation of the filming plans for the wedding scene as of press time.

The Bella-Edward honeymoon scenes were shot late last year in South America. Fans were excited when a photo of Edward and Bella in bed, which Robert Pattinson later laughed off, was released as a tease.

"It's always awkward, in a way, doing it with anybody," he admitted about getting cozy in bed with a co-star. "But at the same time ... it really depends on how it's staged and stuff. It's like doing Twister."

Kristen Stewart also spoke to MTV News last fall about the pressures of picking out just the right dress for that long-awaited wedding scene. "To be honest, it's such a big deal. It's such a big decision. I have a little hand in having a decision — or having an opinion more — but I think it's pretty much up to Stephenie," Stewart said, referring to "Twilight" saga author Stephenie Meyer. "I'm not quite sure exactly what it's going to look like, but it will be beautiful, I'm sure," she added.

Courteney Cox Says David Arquette Is 'Not Out To Harm'

'Cougar Town' actress tells Harper's Bazaar, 'I'm his biggest protector.'

Following the news last fall of their separation after 11 years of marriage, Courteney Cox mostly laid low while David Arquette made a habit of calling into radio shows to talk about his sex life.

On the rare occasions when Cox does open up about Arquette, she's made a point of defending him in the face of his often-bizarre behavior. "If you didn't hear the Howard Stern interviews and you just read quotes, I'm sure it seemed out of context, crazy," the actress said in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar. "I'm not saying there wasn't some crazy behavior, but if you know who David is, you know what his intentions are, how honest he is, and how big his heart is.

"You can't really get mad at David because he's not a malicious person. He was dealing with things the best way he could," she added. "He's not out to harm. But I'm his biggest protector. I can't help it."

As she continues to protect Arquette the best way she knows how, Cox is adamant that she won't be jumping back into a relationship anytime soon and shot down speculation that she's involved with "Cougar Town" co-star Brian Van Holt.

"I have no desire right now," she said. "I'm not saying never. It just seems weird. I don't even know how that would happen or how you meet people. I really don't like to go out. I'm not great at small talk. I like to go to dinner with people. I don't like to go to parties. There's a sign on my forehead: EXITING SOCIAL LIFE, ENTERING INTO ISOLATION.

"The thing is, when you get older, it's more about compatibility than it is about love," she added. "I think it's more about needing just a kind of peace and stillness. I'm kind of all over the place, and I need grounding. I want to be calm. I want to change a lot. I want to live not outside but inside. It's nothing with David; it's just what I'm searching for."

Katy Perry has been very vocal over the past few days in urging her fans to donate to the Red Cross to help the victims of Friday's devastating 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

On Tuesday (March 15), while in Germany for a tour date, Perry requested that fans buy merch at her show to benefit relief efforts. "If u go by the merchandise stand, purchase a KP light-up wand. All proceeds will go 2 to #Japanredcross," she tweeted. "And when I play ... Firework, let's ignite the light for them tonight. I will be doing this for future shows so be ready!!!"

The Jonas Brothers' Joe Jonas recorded a special message for victims of the disaster on Monday and also encouraged the band's fans to contribute to the Red Cross to help those affected by the 9.0 tremor, which has caused widespread property destruction, left thousands dead and unleashed a potential nuclear crisis thanks to the damage at a pair of power plants. "Hi everybody, it's Joe here. I'm just sending a little video message to the victims in Japan that have been hit by this horrible tragedy," said Jonas, who was sporting a few days' beard growth and looking visibly pained by the situation. "My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. The ones who've lost loved ones, I'm so sorry and I'm praying every day for you guys."

Brother Nick Jonas posted a message as well, saying, "our thoughts are with people in Japan, our prayers are with you as well during this tough time. God bless and we're all praying for you."

The Brothers' "Camp Rock" co-star Meaghan Martin recorded a similar video. "I just wanted to send my love and thoughts and prayers to those in Japan affected by the earthquake and the tsunamis in the Pacific," she said. "And everybody all over the world with friends and family members traveling in those locations. My thoughts and prayers are with you and together we can get through this."

"Twilight Saga" star Ashley Greene spoke to Examiner.com about the delays to "Breaking Dawn" filming that took place on Friday when the movie's cast was evacuated from their Vancouver set due to tsunami warnings brought on by the quake.

"Everything kind of got turned upside down and inside out," she said of the interruption of the film's schedule. "We got the least of the brunt of things. We have to be thankful for that. But really, it's more about that we had to pick up and move to a different location and switch scenes around, but we are certainly moving forward and carrying on. It's not really going to affect the film too harshly."

Greene urged people to send their prayers and donations to the people affected by the tragedy. "I think it's something unpredictable and horrible and unexpected and really unfortunate and heartbreaking," she said. "I certainly send out my prayers and my thoughts to the people and to their loved ones and lost ones. And hopefully, we as Americans are going to do everything we can to help them rebuild."

Also pledging to help in recent days is 1980s boy band Boyz II Men, who are raising money for the victims of the tragedy through the Red Cross.

"Boyz II Men have a very special relationship with the people of Japan," the group wrote in a statement about their goal of raising $100,000 for the relief agency. "We have been going to Japan for the past 20 years and we are deeply concerned for the people of Japan and especially for our friends and fans who reside in Sendai and all the areas affected by this earthquake and tsunami ... We can proudly say that Sendai is a beautiful city and we have performed there many times. In fact, we are planning to perform in Sendai in November of 2011 as part of our 20th Year Anniversary Tour."

So far, their efforts have resulted in more than $15,000 in pledges from fans, who've contributed amounts ranging from $10 to $1,500.

Verizon Wireless announced on Monday that it will offer its customers free calls to Japan from now through April 10. The deal covers most calls to Japan and includes free text messaging and multimedia messaging to Japan for its post-paid customers. Calls made from Japan on a Verizon residential landline will also be free.

From P. Diddy to Conan O'Brien, Chris Brown, former "Star Trek" actor George Takei, Lady Gaga, Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda and actor Charlie Sheen, numerous stars have stepped up to help raise funds.

On Monday, Blink-182's Mark Hoppus offered a number of rare band items for sale in an eBay auction that will also benefit the Red Cross.

For more information on what you can do to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan, head to MTV Act, or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Robert Pattinson Kisses Kristen Stewart Onstage In His #4 MTV Moment

RPattz will debut an exclusive 'Water for Elephants' clip and answer fan questions live Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET on MTV.com.

Robert Pattinson later confessed that the kiss "didn't work," but there are legions of "Twilight" fans who would surely disagree. That smooch with Kristen Stewart, after all, might just be the closest any fan will ever get to seeing the duo lock lips in a setting where they're not pretending to be Forks, Washington, lovebirds.

It all went down at the MTV Movie Awards in June of last year, when Pattinson and Stewart took the stage to accept the Golden Popcorn statue for Best Kiss and ended up, awkwardly and charmingly, kissing onstage. The moment immediately became one of the most memorable in Movie Awards history, so it's no surprise that it's also one of our favorite RPattz moments — a top-five list we're counting down before the debut of "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" this Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET.

To fully understand the kiss, we've got to flash back to 2009, when the actors won their first Best Kiss award. Pattinson leaned into the mic and announced that he had to take the gum out of his mouth. He and KStew stared at each other as if readying for a kiss. They closed their eyes, leaned in, brushed noses — but that's as close as they'd get. "Thank you so much!" Stewart declared, before they scampered backstage.

A year later, they found themselves back onstage, once again accepting the Best Kiss win. "So I guess the thing to do — we're supposed to kiss each other," Stewart said. "But to be perfectly honest with you, it takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to make us look good kissing. We don't want to let you guys down. We'll give it a shot."

Much like the year before, they seemed to be teasing the audience with the prospect of a Robsten kiss without actually delivering one. Until they did. And the Twi-verse imploded. That didn't stop Pattinson from telling us afterward that he wasn't all that pleased with how things went.

"I had the best ideas last night," he told us backstage. "And I was telling everyone, 'Listen, just leave it to me, I've got it all under control.' I was telling everyone all these ideas. I gave them a whole selection and no one thought they were funny, so then we ended up doing something which didn't work."

RPattz may not have loved the way things turned out, but the onstage bit they went with sounded a lot better than some of those other ideas of his. "He wanted to be hula-hooping with a match in his mouth, and then he wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula-hooping, and he wanted to put it in my mouth and see if we could make our way over to each other," Stewart told us later. "It didn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. I was like, 'I can't juggle onstage in shoes. I can barely walk up the stairs.' "
