Michael Jackson was laid to rest at Forest Lawn cemetery September 3. Nine months later, on the one-year anniversary of his death, fans gathered outside the Los Angeles cemetery Friday (June 25) to pay tribute to the fallen pop star and to share recollections of their favorite MJ moments from a career that spanned five decades.

"My first memory, I was about 7 years old. This was the time when Bad came out, and I watched the video performance of it, and from that point, I was almost obsessed with him," Eboni Butler told MTV News. "I even have him tattooed on my leg."

Tallora DiGirolami flew in from Adelaide, Australia, for the occasion and proudly displayed her national flag as she stood outside Forest Lawn. "I started this flag because I had so many friends and fans that couldn't make it," she said. "And we started getting to talking and I said, 'Right, I've got a flag. Do you want to sign it? Do you want to be part of the memorial?' "

The crowd was smaller than the ones that gathered in the days and weeks following Jackson's death, but the sentiments of his fans were no less impassioned. "He means a lot to me," Brian Lopez said. "He was like my brother, a family member. When I heard he died, I didn't eat for weeks, I didn't sleep for weeks, I didn't go out for weeks. ... It's been a very sad loss for me."

Confronted with such a loss, his fans continued to recall memories of the King of Pop. "I saw Michael once in Memphis when he was married to Lisa Marie and they had the Elvis tribute," Sheila Guerrero recalled. "I was crying so bad. He just stopped and came back and told me not to cry. That moment is priceless for me. I thank God for that moment."

Said Jonah Sevilla: "He loved the world, and he wanted it to be a better place because of all the bad things that were happening."

MTV will be remembering the life and music of Michael Jackson all weekend. Don't miss the one-hour special "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music," airing tonight at 6:30 p.m. on MTV.

After Drake inked his record deal with the Universal Motown family (in partnership with Lil Wayne's Young Money label), the Toronto lyricist visited his grandmother to share the good news.

Photographer Jonathan Mannion was present, shooting images of the pair, and recalled the moment Drake and his grandmother had, which he explains in this exclusive outtake from the MTV documentary "Drake: Better Than Good Enough."

"We went to visit his grandmother in a nursing home," Mannion says. "It was really a conversation between them and they were talking about how they used to do crossword puzzles and learn words together. That kind of stuff. And she was like, 'It's really paying off now.' "

Mannion described his favorite shot from the visit, which depicts an exchange of affection between the two; he said the image hit home for him how rooted in family the So Far Gone star really was.

According to Mannion, Drake notified his grandmother that he signed his record deal and now had millions of dollars in his account.

He asked her what she wanted, telling her that since he finally made it he could now buy her anything in the world she desired

"You have a million dollars!," she said, Mannion recalled.

The rapper corrected her, responded that he has millions in the bank now and she could have anything she wants.

"How about a hug and kiss?," she told him.

"He just leaned over and kissed her on the forehead," Mannion says, as he shows the image on his computer. "It was the sweetest moment. That, I think, is a real reference to how grounded [Drake] is."

MTV followed Drake in the weeks leading up to the release of his new LP, Thank Me Later. The "Drake: Better Than Good Enough" documentary will re-air on MTV Saturday at 12 p.m. and 9 p.m., Sunday at 9 a.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. on MTV2.

Michael Jackson's Brother Jermaine Celebrates King Of Pop On 'Larry King'

The Jackson family still hasn't 'come to terms' with MJ's death a year later, Jermaine says.

On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson's family and friends gathered at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California, to lay the King of Pop to rest in the Grand Mausoleum. Almost one year later, shortly before the actual anniversary of his death, MJ's brother Jermaine returned to the site to tape an interview with Larry King.

"It's been tough," Jermaine told the talk-show host. "It went so fast. We've been just putting the pieces together and the family's been having a lot of meetings and we're just trying to hold on. We haven't come to terms. It's something we're learning to live with. We will never accept it."

Speaking softly and quietly, Jackson said the inside of the mausoleum is dark and cold. "To walk this corridor, and all you hear is your footsteps. Michael shouldn't be here. I always felt that," he said, adding that MJ should have been buried at his Neverland Ranch estate.

A year later, Jackson said Michael's three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, are enjoying as normal a life as possible. They love movies, Jermaine said, though he is not sure if they've seen "This Is It," the documentary about Michael's final months as he prepared for what were to be his comeback shows in London. Jermaine also revealed that they do not visit their father's gravesite at Forest Lawn.

Each of the family members, Jackson said, continues to grieve in their own ways. And they continue to raise questions about the circumstances surrounding MJ's death. Jermaine acknowledged that numerous interventions had been made concerning Michael's use of various prescription medications but denied any suggestion that his brother did not want to live. Rather, Jermaine said the family believes Michael was murdered and that Dr. Conrad Murray, the singer's personal physician who was charged with involuntary manslaughter as a result of MJ's propofol overdose, is not the sole person responsible for the death.

"All of us feel that he's the fall guy," Jermaine said. "It's higher up than just the doctor.

"He did say on numerous occasions, at times to my mother, that he felt that he was being threatened, someone was trying to kill him," Jermaine added about his brother.

While the Jackson family awaits the start of Murray's trial, which they plan to attend, they lament the way the pop singer has been treated by the media, the public and prosecutors in the years before his death.

"If you listen to the content of his lyrics and his music, that's what he is, that's what he wrote from his heart, from his soul," Jackson said. "And it's sad, because now people realize what kind of person he was all along. But he's not here to see that. He got a bum rap because he was so misunderstand. He was trying to take the world on his shoulders and to bring an awareness to the world of what we need to do as people."

Ne-Yo Expecting A Child

It appears that life is imitating art for singer/songwriter Ne-Yo. The R&B gentleman, who guested on 50 Cent's 2009 hit "Baby by Me," recently confirmed that he and his girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, are expecting a child together.

"I am 30, and I do have my first child on the way, and I'm very, very, very excited about that," the hitmaker told Ebony magazine. The star also revealed that the new addition to his family is due in January. "It's a New Year's baby," the singer told the magazine.

The dad-to-be said he doesn't know the baby's gender yet because the little one was curled up in the womb during the first ultrasound, apparently making it hard to determine the sex. The star jokingly called out his unborn child, saying the baby was "stubborn." However, the child appears to be taking after his or her mother, because, the singer added, "They didn't get that one from me."

A rep for Ne-Yo also confirmed to MTV News that the star is expecting.

While this is the singer's first baby, this is not the star's first brush with fatherhood. Ne-Yo's former girlfriend reportedly gave birth to a child, Chimere, who the star once claimed as his own until he later learned he was not the boy's biological father. Ne-Yo and his ex were reportedly in litigation over the matter. "I'm not allowed to talk about it, and I'm not allowed to see [Chimere]," Ne-Yo told USA Today in 2008.

However, the star did seem very open to the idea of raising children and told the paper, "I've been thinking a lot about kids lately." He even revealed that he wanted "a girl and a boy" and appeared ready to assume the role of a protective dad. "When the first guy comes to my door asking for my daughter, I might end up going to jail," Ne-Yo said. "I just don't know how I'll handle that."

The impending pitter-patter of little feet is not the only thing the singer has on his plate; the star is also preparing to drop his latest album, Libra Scale. The star told Ebony, "I'm just in a really good place right now."

Friday (June 25) marks the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death. Fans across the globe are still heartbroken that the King of Pop is no longer with us, but this weekend, they will celebrate his memory by singing his songs and dancing to his music, just like Jackson wanted them to do while he was still here.

We spoke to several DJs and asked them which of MJ's songs are their favorites to play in the club. " 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough,' " Jermaine Dupri said Friday morning. "Because it embodies what clubs in the '80s were really about, and you can hear it. For the three minutes you throw that on, you start believing you're back there. At least I do."

"Probably 'P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing),' " DJ Drama said via phone from India. "It gets all the drunk and hot girls excited!"

" 'P.Y.T.,' " DJ Envy agreed. " 'Beat It,' 'Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'.' "

Q-Tip, who became a legend in hip-hop for his abstract rhymes, had a few nonconventional choices. "Michael Jackson's music can absolutely crush a party!" said Tip, who DJs all around the world. "The obvious records are 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' and 'Rock With You.' My personal faves are 'Life of the Party,' 'Get on the Floor' and 'Body Language.' Also, 'Show Me the Way to Go.' "

"My two favorites are 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' and 'Billie Jean.' They both are so timeless," said DJ Kut, who spins on WBLS in New York. "They even make me wanna dance, and I don't dance!"

"Definitely one of my all-time favorites that can work at any party in the world is 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough,' " Miami's DJ Affect said. "The title explains it best. ... That record is a party starter! Followed up by 'Billie Jean,' which always gets the ladies moving on any dance floor. To conclude the night around 4:55 a.m. in South Beach, 'Dirty Diana' is the perfect go-to record. MJ will truly be missed and never forgotten."

Lil Jon went with the classics: " 'Billie Jean.' Soon as the drums drop, people go nuts and they love to sing the hook! 'Wanna Be Startin' Somethin',' I use the 'ma ma say, ma ma sa' part all the time to get the whole club crazy. 'Rock With You,' I drop the a cappella, and everyone is singing, from thugs to nerds. Then I drop the beat and send the club into a frenzy!"

"You can go to any club on the planet and hear 'Billie Jean,' 'Beat It,' " said DJ Jazzy Jeff, who released the Jackson tribute mixtape He's the King, I'm the DJ last year. "You can hear 'Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'.' Those are his main, main super staples; an Eskimo in Alaska knows those."

MTV will be remembering the life and music of Michael Jackson all weekend. Don't miss the one-hour special "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music," airing tonight at 6:30 p.m. on MTV.

MTV's Too Fast for Love Tour drew to a close on June 11, in Philadelphia, after kicking off back in April. And headliners Cobra Starship, Travie McCoy and 3OH!3 performed for a good cause: The concert festival was organized to raise awareness of and promote testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

The sold-out crowd included students from Roger Williams University, who packed the front row after crushing the competition in the GYT: Get Yourself Tested Campus Challenge. In winning the contest, those students underlined the importance of getting tested for STDs. And on Sunday, which marks annual National HIV Testing Day, you can do the same.

A wealth of information on how to track down free HIV-testing locations and events is available at MTV's GYTnow.org. Readers can also find important facts about HIV/AIDS and tips on how to bring up testing with partners or health care providers.

The campus challenge was part of the MTV-sponsored GYT campaign, mounted in response to some alarming statistics. Among them is the fact that one in two young people will get an STD by age 25 — many without knowing it. The GYT campaign seeks to create a social movement around getting tested.

Aimed specifically at college students, RWU beat out 166 schools this year for the top spot in the challenge by successfully recruiting a little more than 500 participants who agreed to undergo testing. Kirstie Goodwin, a junior and one of RWU's Student Health and Wellness Educators, or H.A.W.E.S., led RWU to the win, recruiting 30 percent of the final tally.

"I think raising awareness can make a difference. A lot of people on campus didn't realize that [RWU] Health Services even does testing," she said. "After we did the GYT Campus Challenge, they ran out of HIV tests in Health Services because so many people wanted to get tested."

"Sexual health and sexuality have always been on RWU's radar," said Donna Darmody, director of health education for the H.A.W.E.S. program. "Students are encouraged to have honest talks about sex right from the get-go because they are comfortable about the topic; they're more inclined to be safe."

Exclusive footage from the Too Fast for Love Tour, as well as blog posts by winning students about their trip to Philly, is available on Think.MTV.com.

Will you get tested? Share your thoughts in the comments.

As fans lined up outside Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California, on the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, his family gathered inside to pay their respects to the fallen pop star.

Janet Jackson, as well as Randy, Tito and Jermaine, arrived at the cemetery around 11 a.m. PT on Friday (June 25), according to Us Weekly. Janet wore a black trench coat and black skirt as she was escorted in by her brothers. The family entered the cemetery through a back entrance and made their way to the Great Mausoleum, where Michael was laid to rest.

The mausoleum's architectural design was inspired by the Campo Santo in Italy, an elaborate cemetery constructed in the 13th century and used as a burial ground for Italian elites for hundreds of years. The building was not open to fans on the anniversary of Jackson's death.

Michael's children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, did not accompany the other Jackson family members. According to Us, the children were last seen in Hawaii on Thursday with Michael's mother, Katherine, who is their legal guardian.

"Sorry Big Bro, for not getting ur children there on the anniversary of ur last day. I tried," Randy wrote on his Twitter account.

Katherine was on hand Friday in Gary, Indiana, Michael's hometown, to unveil a marble memorial and hold what was described as a cell phone vigil outside his childhood home. "I am not in support of the Gary event/trip or whatever it is. I'm tired but I promise to continue this discussion first thing in the morn," Randy tweeted.

MTV will be remembering the life and music of Michael Jackson all weekend. Don't miss the one-hour special "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music," airing tonight at 6:30 p.m. on MTV.

NEW YORK — Before we meet the grown-ups of "Grown Ups," which opened Friday (June 25), we get a peek back in time to the year 1978, when Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and their pals were pre-teens on a championship youth basketball team. They have braces and bad haircuts, rock painfully retro polyester duds with butterfly collars, and generally have you laughing at them the moment they pop up on the screen.

But just how do they choose the young actors who'll play the onscreen counterparts to these established actors? And, with Sandler as producer and co-writer, do the rest of the guys even have a say in the casting process? We put those questions to the "Grown Ups" on the red carpet, when the movie premiered earlier this week.

"You would think Adam would have asked me, but no, I got nothing," laughed co-star Rob Schneider, whose younger self sports a poof to rival Snooki's. "I think my kid is funkier looking than the other kids. But I trust him. The good thing about Adam, you know, he's got your back."

That believe-in-Sandler ethos is one the rest of the cast subscribes to as well.

"I trust Sandler," Rock told MTV News. "Sandler's Dre. I'm Snoop," the comedian said comparing the pair to the West Coast super-producer and his onetime protégé. "I don't question Dre. Dre says, 'Do it again,' you do it again. It's going to be hot."

For his part, Sandler made sure to institute a bit of a DNA upgrade when it came to choosing the actors who would play the young versions of their characters. "The kid who plays me is much handsomer than I was," he said. "And Rock's got a handsome kid too."

"They had to get a girl to play me," Rock laughed.

Co-star David Spade's young counterpart was the right gender, but not quite as striking as he was hoping for.

"I didn't pick him, but I think he's hilarious," he said. "When he comes on, people laugh. They know it's me already. He's trying to be all cool like I do. But in the beginning, I go, 'How about someone like a young Brad Pitt?' And they were like, 'No. How about a young, white Urkel?' "

Which young Hollywood actors would you have cast to play Sandler, Rock and the other male leads in "Grown Ups"? Tell us in the comments!

Check out everything we've got on "Grown Ups."

Good Charlotte Talk 'Family Vibe' On Bamboozle Tour

Band brings tourmates along on DJ gigs, where they 'party their faces off.'

By now, you're probably aware that the Bamboozle Road Show — the rambling rock circus featuring Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Simple Plan, Third Eye Blind and 3OH!3, among others — is basically, well, one giant "bro down."

Yes, it seems that everyone associated with the 'Boozle enjoys the company of their fellow musicians, and it doesn't matter if it's the lowliest of opening acts or the headiest of headliners, they all hang out together, for reasons that seem to extend beyond friendship and into the realm of survival.

"Everyone's been hanging out every night, [because] the actual conditions of the tour ... definitely everyone's helped each other out, because there hasn't been any food," Good Charlotte's Joel Madden laughed. "So, like, the bands will all buy food and cook out, or, if we go shopping one night, the other bands will come on our bus. It's like a big, family vibe. We're all hanging out and having a good time."

Of course, there's also other human needs to attend to while on tour, like getting trashed. And Good Charlotte's Madden brothers have that aspect covered.

"Me and Benji have had a lot of DJ gigs in random cities, like once or twice a week, and we'll bring the entire tour with us," Joel smiled. "And we're talking, like, 20 guys that are all, like, 22 or 23 and they all want to rage. So we'll go and set it up and then they'll have the whole club at their disposal. They party their faces off."

And, of course, all that camaraderie also extends to the stage, too. Take, for example, the events that took place earlier this week during a Road Show stop in Pittsburgh. Heavy rain and strong winds forced the show to nearly be canceled, until all the bands stepped in and saved the day.

"The other night in Pittsburgh, we had walked up to the stage, and we were about to go onstage, and it started pouring down rain, storm, the rain was blowing the screens almost off the stage, so ... they had to shut the stage down, tie everything down, kind of wait for the rain to stop, and, the show got canceled, pretty much," Benji Madden said. "So, all the bands decided we'd play acoustic instead. And so, all the bands went up onstage, and each of us played four to five songs, and played some together and, most of the crowd stayed, and it turned out to be maybe my favorite show of the tour. It felt really special, like one of those rock and roll moments where everybody there won't forget it."

Oscar-winning director Sofia Coppola and Grammy-winning Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars have recently given birth to their second baby girl, People magazine reports.

Named Cosima, the girl was born "within the last month," a source told the magazine. The newborn is the couple's second daughter, joining Romy, who is now 3 years old. The couple began dating in 2005 and revealed that Coppola, who won a best writing Oscar for "Lost in Translation," was pregnant in December.

The duo have most recently collaborated on Coppola's upcoming film "Somewhere," with Phoenix writing what Mars has described as a "very minimal" soundtrack for the project.

"She asked us to do some music, very in the spirit of 'Love Like a Sunset,' so we tried to put that track and elements of the track in the movie, and it worked well," Phoenix guitarist Christian Mazzalai told MTV Radio. "And then we wrote very small pieces of music, very minimal music for the movie too. ... We're very proud of it."

"This is the first time we feel [that] the music fits to the picture," bassist Deck D'Arcy added. "We've [been on] many soundtracks before, and it's always weird for us — producers must like [our songs], of course, if they use them — but for us, it's always weird to see them in the films."

Starring Stephen Dorff as a Hollywood bad boy, "Somewhere" takes place largely at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel. The first trailer dropped earlier this month, with the film expected to hit theaters in December.

Mars, meanwhile, continues to tour with Phoenix, which won a Best Alternative Music Album Grammy last year. The band kicked off the latest leg of their tour June 11 in North Carolina and then headed off to Germany and the U.K. They'll weave throughout Europe before returning to the States in August and finally wrapping up in Mexico City at the end of September.

In an episode of "Behind the Music" airing Monday on VH1, Jennifer Hudson will talk at length for the first time about the murders of her mother, nephew and brother in October 2008.

Not long after Hudson got engaged to David Otunga and released her debut album, the bodies of Hudson's mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, and older brother, Jason, were discovered inside the home Hudson grew up in on Chicago's South Side. Donerson was 57 years old, and Jason was 29. Julian King, Hudson's 7-year-old nephew, was reported missing soon after. Julian's body was found in an SUV on Chicago's West Side the following Monday. All three victims died from multiple gunshot wounds. William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's sister Julia, was charged with the murders.

The "Behind the Music" episode will focus on Hudson's rise to fame after her early exit from "American Idol." Hudson, who gave birth to a son earlier this year, also touches on her Oscar and Grammy wins, her love life and motherhood. The episode will include exclusive footage of Hudson and her son, David Jr.

Also included in the show are interviews with her sister Julia, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, Otunga, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Whitney Houston, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke and label boss Clive Davis.

Hudson recently had a track on the "Sex and the City 2" soundtrack and was named the spokesperson for Weight Watchers. Earlier this year, she revealed her music and movie plans.

"I'm actually recording my album right now," she said back in February. "And getting ready for my next film ['Winnie'], which is [about] Winnie Mandela. So it's a bit busy, but I'm enjoying myself."

Eminem and Jay-Z will appear on the "Late Show with David Letterman" tonight (June 25), and in addition to performing on the rooftop together, the two rappers also talk with the cranky host.

In preview clips released online, Em is seen participating in Letterman's famous "Top 10" segment and Jay sits down on the couch to chat with Letterman.

Letterman and the Brooklyn MC discussed Cleveland Cavaliers star (and Jay-Z pal) LeBron James' impending free agency and the arrival of Mikhail Prokhorov, the New Jersey Nets' new Russian billionaire majority owner.

"The tall guy," Hov joked, referring to Prokhorov.

"You're a guy," Letterman then told the rapper. "I'm a guy. Now, if LeBron James wants to be a guy, he will stay where he is and not cut the heart out of that city by leaving Cleveland. You wouldn't do that, would you? Cleveland is in desperate decline. And one of the glimmering hopes they have —"

"How's your ratings in Cleveland?," Jay interrupted to laughs.

Jay, who holds a minority stake in the Nets, admitted if he found himself in a similar situation, he could concede to Letterman's point.

Only three of Eminem's Top 10 items about advice for kids had been previewed at press time, including jokes about "Toy Story 3," illegal downloading, and a dig at BP in the wake of the Gulf leak.

"Don't get mixed up with drugs, gangs or oil executives," the Detroit MC deadpanned.

The two rappers taped their appearance earlier in the week in New York. Initially, they requested to perform on top of the famed Ed Sullivan Theater marquee, but officials for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg declined to grant a permit.

The pair were able to skirt the issue, however, by taking the show to the rooftop of the building and away from the streets where officials had concerns over public safety.

Eminem and Jay-Z's joint appearance was a part of promotion for their stadium concert series this September in New York and Detroit; two additional shows were announced on Thursday.

Michael Jackson's Father Files Wrongful-Death Suit Against Conrad Murray

Michael Jackson's father, Joseph Jackson, filed a wrongful-death suit against Dr. Conrad Murray on Friday (June 25) in which he asks for damages in connection with the death of his son one year ago today.

Murray was the personal physician who was hired at a cost of $150,000 a month to tend to Jackson in the ramp-up to the singer's 50-date comeback concerts, which were slated to begin last July. To date, Murray is the only person charged in the case, and he is free on bail while he awaits trial on involuntary-manslaughter charges.

According to a copy of the suit provided by Jackson's lawyer, Brian Oxman, the action was filed against Murray and his two medical clinics, Acres Home Heart & Vascular Associates in Houston and GCA Holdings LLC in Las Vegas in federal court in California on Friday afternoon. The suit lists Jackson's mother, Katherine, as well as his three children, Michael Joseph "Prince" Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II as "nominal" plaintiffs in the case.

Though Joseph Jackson has spoken out several times about the alleged role he believed concert promoter AEG Live played in his son's death — claiming that Michael was too sick and that AEG was pushing the frail singer too hard to play too many shows — AEG is not named in the lawsuit. The suit claims that, "Defendant's conduct of attempting to conceal the multi-state supply of drugs and the use of their facilities in Texas and Nevada to obtain medications was an extreme departure from the standard of care."

Murray's lawyer could not be reached for comment at press time.

The suit, which demands a jury trial, also claims that Joseph Jackson "believes there are other parties responsible for Michael Jackson's death but has not yet gathered sufficient information regarding their potential liability or responsibility."

The complaint alleges that Murray withheld vital information about Jackson's health history — including a list of all the drugs he had administered to his patient — to paramedics who responded to a 911 call as well as to doctors at UCLA Medical Center attempting to revive the singer. At the autopsy for Jackson, the complaint also alleges that Murray "said nothing" about administering the surgical anesthetic propofol, which the coroner concluded caused Jackson's death.

It also claims that Murray's allegedly misleading comments to the head of UCLA's Emergency Medical Department, Dr. Richelle Cooper, and to first responders were "designed to conceal the inter-state shipment of medications utilizing defendant's multi-state facilities and Texas and Nevada drug registrations to obtain medications in California."

The suit rehashes the fitful last night of Jackson's life, during which Murray allegedly gave the singer a cocktail of drugs in order to help him sleep, noting that "defendant claimed he was continuously at Michael Jackson's bedside and was monitoring him with a pulse oximeter [which measures the level of oxygen in a patient's blood and is used as a precaution when administering IV anesthetics]. However, when police searched the house, they found the pulse oximeter in the closet in the next room."

After finding Jackson unresponsive, the suit claims Murray gave the singer an anti-overdose medication called Romazicon, which has "no effect on propofol ... the dose given was inadequate for Ativan. It was improperly administered. Defendant did not know how to use the drug." Before 911 was called, the complaint alleges that a security guard named Alberto Alvarez told police Murray instructed him to conceal bottles of propofol, "place them in a bag and clean up the room."

It also claims that nearly 90 minutes elapsed between the time he discovered Jackson unresponsive and the 911 call and that after police discovered that Murray spent 47 minutes on his cell phone during that period, the doctor "altered his version" of events on the day of Jackson's death. "The reason defendant felt he could change his story was because he kept no medical records documenting his treatment" as required by law.

Joseph Jackson claims he has suffered more than $75,000 in damages — the minimum amount required to get a case into federal court — as a result of Murray's alleged negligence. Those alleged losses include wages and earnings, services, affection, income and support, medical expenses for treatment of physical and emotional injuries and other damages not yet named.

Michael Jackson Guitarist Orianthi Recalls Learning Of His Death

'Everyone was completely devastated,' Orianthi tells MTV News.

One year ago Friday (June 25), Michael Jackson died at age 50, after suffering cardiac arrest in his Los Angeles home. At the time of his death, Jackson was hard at work on his much-discussed This Is It concert series — a planned run of 50 shows at London's O2 arena — sometimes putting in 20-hour days at rehearsals, which were taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Jackson's old-school work ethic amazed everyone associated with This Is It, from choreographers and lighting directors all the way down to the stagehands. And on the day he died, they were all making their way to Staples for yet another marathon rehearsal session — one that, sadly, would never happen.

One of the people on her way to Staples was Australian guitarist Orianthi, who had been tapped by Jackson to appear with him onstage during the show (you can watch footage of the pair rehearsing here). And, on the one-year anniversary of Jackson's death, she recalled the day she heard the news that shook the world.

"I was actually getting ready for rehearsal. I was getting ready to go there, and I found out. And everyone was completely devastated," she told MTV News earlier this week. "And I wish he was still with us. It's just really hard. Actually, this week I was talking to my band about it and how crazy it is that he's still not with us. And we just had an incredible time working with him, everybody. So I'm going to call everyone that was part of This Is It on the day and just reminisce over the amazing memories that we have."

One year later, the magnitude of Jackson's death is still rather difficult to fathom. And though he will forever be remembered as a titan in the worlds of music, fashion, dance and popular culture, those who got to know him closely — got to marvel at his professionalism, his dedication and his kindness — also will remember him for something else.

"His spirit ... he had such spirit," Orianthi said. "When he walked in the room, he just had this great presence about him and encouraging, really sweet. [He is] definitely very missed."

Miley Cyrus Says She's A 'Huge Fan' Of Lady Gaga

Miley Cyrus might be pals with pop stars like Justin Bieber and she might make pop albums, but she says that when she goes home at night, pop is the last thing she listens to. Unless, that is, you're talking about Lady Gaga, in which case she's all about The Fame Monster.

"Huge fan! That's my pop guilty pleasure. I love Lady Gaga," Cyrus recently told MTV News. "I think she's always herself to the full. I don't see anyone trying to put together her stuff — she does it herself. She's very creative, I think, just taking that upon yourself and knowing that the only way it's going to be done the way you want it to be is to be heavily involved."

Cyrus admits that she really loves Gaga's whole image; it's not just about the music. "Even though she's a pop artist, I look at her videos and I don't see a squeaky pop singer or perky all the time," she explained. "Her stuff means real things, so she's cool. I like her."

Not only does Cyrus admire Gaga, she also recently revealed her love for the late Michael Jackson. But that's pretty much where the pop music love begins and ends. "People are always like, 'What do you mean you don't listen to pop music and you're a pop artist?' But there's something about performing to those dance vibes that is so much fun," she said. "I work so much, so I like really chill [music] or just rock, you know, real, real stuff. But on my record I like dancing. I like performing pop music."

Taylor Lautner's 'Abduction' Co-Star Maria Bello Says Movie Is 'Badass'

'It's an incredible script,' the actress says.
By Eric Ditzian

Taylor Lautner has thrown himself into boxing and fight training in the last few months. He's learning to work movie magic on a motorcycle. And he's likely going to have to jump into a pool and figure out how to swim like an action hero. That's just what it's going to take to slip into his starring role in "Abduction," a flick that's being compared to the Jason Bourne films.

And it's a good thing he's committed himself so fully, because as co-star Mario Bello told MTV News, the movie will be nothing short of hardcore.

"It's an incredible script. It really is," she told us at the red-carpet premiere of "Grown Ups." "John Singleton is directing. I'm so happy to be a part of it. It's going to be a badass movie."

The story follows Lautner as a kid who, thanks to a visit to a missing-persons website, discovers that he has actually been abducted and the parents who raised him are not his flesh and blood. Jason Isaacs plays his faux-dad, while Bello is his faux-mom.

"Do I look like Taylor's mom?" she asked.

Judging by the look she was rocking the red carpet — a form-fitting blue dress and short, sun-kissed blonde locks — Bello should have no problem convincing audiences that she could have birthed a good-looking kid like Lautner.

"He is such a gorgeous guy," she said.

But, of course, in the film it turns out that she's not his real mother. And when Lautner makes that discovery, he's thrust into a run-and-gun-style thriller. Lautner himself has clearly been training hard for the requirements of "Abduction," but what about Bello? Might we see her kick a little ass on the big screen?

"You never know?" she said. "You'll have to see the movie!"

Michael Jackson's Estate: What's Coming Next?

Posted: 25 Jun 2010 01:08 AM PDT

Unreleased songs, Cirque du Soleil shows, a video game and much more are on the roster.
By Gil Kaufman

Michael Jackson

Like Elvis, Bob Marley and Tupac Shakur, in death, Michael Jackson's popularity has only grown stronger. The singer, who died at age 50 on June 25, 2009, while gearing up for a 50-concert comeback attempt, has generated nearly $1 billion in revenue for his cash-strapped estate since his death. And with a number of projects in the works, it's likely that cash registers will keep ringing for years to come.

Part of the reason the managers of Jackson's estate moved so quickly to cut a number of lucrative deals in the months after the singer's death is because of a $500 million mountain of debt they were facing. According to CNBC, they chipped away at that by launching a four-pronged plan that included generating cash to pay bills, developing long-term projects for regular cash flow, restructuring Jackson's massive debt, and then working to restore the pop star's image, complicated and tarnished by decades of bizarre behavior and two allegations of improper sexual contact with children. A spokesperson for the estate could not be reached for comment at press time to confirm future plans.

One of the biggest deals was a $250 million pact with Sony Music Entertainment to release 10 new products encompassing CDs, DVDs and video games through 2017. The first of those albums, a still-untitled collection of unreleased songs, is due out at the end of this year. A repackaging of the singer's 1979 solo debut, Off the Wall — which was reissued with bonus tracks in 2001 — is expected in 2011 with more outtakes and remixes.

Jackson had been working for years on a follow-up to the poorly received 2001 album Invincible, recording tracks with Lenny Kravitz, Akon and Will.I.Am, among others, some of which have leaked in unfinished demo form. But it's unknown if those songs will be packaged as the album Jackson was working on at the time of his death or if they will be sprinkled in among the future releases. His former label boss, Tommy Mottola, said soon after Jackson's death that there were "dozens" of unreleased tracks that could see the light of day at some point. Reports surfaced this week that a collector discovered more than 200 unreleased Jackson 5 tracks in a warehouse.

The "This Is It" documentary of rehearsals for the 50-date London comeback shows has already generated $300 million at the global box office and millions more on DVD. But concert promoter AEG Live said at the time of Jackson's death, it had shot more than 100 hours of high-definition footage, meaning further repackaging of that material could be coming in the future.

A video game from Ubisoft that will allow fans to re-create Jackson's signature dance moves is due by the end of the year, and two new Cirque du Soleil shows employing Jackson's music are slated to launch by 2012. The first show will be one of the Canadian troupe's traditional traveling extravaganzas hitting the road in 2011, while the other will be anchored in Las Vegas and is expected to open in 2012.

CNBC said the future of Jackson's onetime adult playland, the 2,600-acre Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County, California, is still up in the air. The site is currently owned by Colony Capital, but it could be sold or moved to Las Vegas to create a tourist destination.

Also up in the air is an auction of Jackson's personal effects from Neverland, which he had arranged before his death as a way to raise money to pay off his debts. Plans for the 2009 auction were scrapped at the last minute after the thousands of items had already been put on display by Julien's Auction House in Los Angeles.

Rick Ross Recruits T.I. For His 'Masterpiece,' 'Maybach Music 3'

'I feel like the verse he spits on this record may be one of his hardest verses,' Ross says.

Rick Ross

Rick Ross' "Maybach Music" featuring Jay-Z was one of the standout tracks from his sophomore set, Trilla. The Miami rapper upped the star power on the sequel, recruiting Lil Wayne and Kanye West to join him on "Maybach Music 2."

Now, to complete the trilogy, Ross, is connecting with yet another heavyweight MC.

"I had to do it real big with someone I never collaborated with before: Tip," Ross told "Sucker Free" host DJ Envy of T.I. "We got a full orchestra, a live orchestra from the strings on down. It's gonna be a masterpiece. It felt good to work with him. He just came home and got in the lab. He heard the music, he knows the legacy of part one and part two. And I feel like the verse he spits on this record may be one of his hardest verses. It's that 'Rubber Band Man' flow."

In the past, Ross spoke out in a lighthearted manner about not being included on Tip's "Swagga Like Us" record, which also included Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. "How could you forget about me?" he asked in his own freestyle over the M.I.A.-sampled track.

"I feel like everything happens in time," Ross told MTV News about the omission. "What T.I. had on his plate and what he had going on, I think that was the roster for him to put together. He had to make it as big as he could. It's Paper Trail. He had to make it explosive. ... The way I make music, I'm hater-free. So I don't have egos. I'm a fan."

Ross is putting the finishing touches on his next album, Teflon Don, which is slated for release next month.

'Eclipse' Premiere: Xavier Samuel Drew Inspiration From 'Wild Things'

In trailers and clips, fans have already been teased with what it will look like when Riley and the army of newborn vamps emerge from the water, on their way to the final battle in "Eclipse." Australian up-and-comer Xavier Samuel, who plays Riley, knew the image would be dramatic, and he had a very interesting movie reference in mind as he got into character for that particular scene.

"Well, I'm lucky it was kind of covered the first night at drama school," he joked to MTV News at the red-carpet premiere of "Eclipse" in Los Angeles on Thursday night. "Let me say a large source of inspiration for that scene was Denise Richards in 'Wild Things.' "

Of course, movie buffs may point out that when Richards and Neve Campbell rise out of the pool in the 1998 movie, they're actually referencing a scene in "Apocalypse Now," but if it worked for Samuel, we won't argue with him. And with "Eclipse" set to open on Wednesday (June 30), he said he now has a game plan for his next big Hollywood move. " 'Wild Things 5,' " he laughed when asked about his next project. "And hopefully that will continue on for a while."

Samuel said that there are few things in this world that would get him as hyped as the fans who had lined up for days outside Hollywood's Nokia Theatre to catch a glimpse of their favorite "Twilight Saga" stars for the premiere. "I was really into Australian football when I was younger," he said. "But I wasn't writing posters or anything like that, but I can understand the degree of hysteria."

So, did he get any marriage proposal from any of the aforementioned fans? "I've only had one," he revealed. "Not [married] yet, but I just thought I'd say, 'Look let's get to know each other. We should meet first, perhaps.' Absolutely [I'd date a fan]."

What other movie references have you seen in the "Twilight" movies? Talk about it in the comments.

Where Were You When Michael Jackson Died? Drake, Game Remember

The death of Michael Jackson a year ago today touched millions of people, including hip-hop stars who, like so many of us, grew up with his music. And like so many of us, they remember exactly where they were when reports of Jackson's death first came in.

Game, like many fans, was suspicious when he first heard that Jackson had passed away. "I was at the crib, didn't believe it," Game said. "[The news] came through in a text message and people are always pulling pranks on text messages. So I immediately turned on the news and they were saying he went into cardiac arrest."

Drake was more incredulous than suspicious. "When he passed, I was in Toronto. I remember, I saw my mom that night," he said. "It was weird. It was somebody that you just don't picture not being here. It's Mike, you know?"

Jackson's untimely passing was doubly shocking because it occurred as he was just weeks away from beginning his sold-out This Is It run of concerts at London's O2 Arena.

"He looked like in A-1 shape and to hear that news, it was definitely devastating," Flo Rida said.

"He literally gave his life to entertainment. He couldn't live a normal life because of that," said rising MC J. Cole, referring to the intense fame the star grappled with for most of his life. "That's how much he loved to do this."

With the indelible impact he left on music and pop culture, for many stars Jackson remains the final word when it comes to showstopping entertainment. As ATL's B.o.B said, "His spirit and his music are so strong that he's very much alive, still."

MTV will be remembering the life and music of Michael Jackson all weekend. Don't miss the one-hour special "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music," airing tonight at 6:30 p.m. on MTV.
