On Monday (June 7), hours before he was set to deliver the commencement address for Kalamazoo Central High School's class of 2010, President Barack Obama gave those graduating students the surprise of their lives, bringing the already energized group to a frenzy with an unannounced meet-and-greet at an intimate, pre-commencement ceremony.

MTV News was there exclusively, and we've got the footage for you right now!

Backstage, in the moments prior to their commencement — which was held at nearby Western Michigan University, due to the overflow crowd — Kalamazoo Central Principal Von Washington Jr. brought the nearly 300 graduating seniors together in an adjoining holding area for what they only assumed to be little more than a quick pre-commencement pep talk. After some initial comments from U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Washington announced that he had another special guest he'd like to introduce. The seniors in the room were shocked to see none other than President Obama himself bound out into the center of the floor.

The room erupted in excitement and stayed charged throughout Obama's brief-but-encouraging words on the hard work Central's students had put in and the school's embrace of diversity. Then he flashed his megawatt smile and began shaking hands with the still-stunned students, working the room with an enthusiasm reminiscent of his days back on the campaign trail.

For the soon-to-be-graduates, the unexpected moment capped a week of excitement, one that kicked off with the announcement that Central had won the White House's inaugural Race to the Top Commencement Challenge video competition (co-sponsored by education organization Get Schooled) aimed at finding the school that best exemplified academic excellence and college readiness. (Check out Central's winning video, "We Are the Giants.") It was, needless to say, a day they won't soon forget.

"This day has changed our lives," one student enthused.

"This is the biggest moment in history, and we're all a part of it, the whole class of 2010," another added. "I'm so excited just to be here, in the moment!"

Stay tuned to MTVNews.com for more from the president's impromptu meeting with the students early Tuesday.

Robert Pattinson Says 'Eclipse' Is 'Different,' More 'Serious'

'They're not, like, fantasy things. It's like a horror film!' RPattz teases of fight scenes.

Many "Twilight" fans are expecting a darker film with more action, but plenty of romance between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and her various supernatural suitors when "Eclipse" hits theaters on June 30. But "Twilight" enthusiasts who haven't braced themselves for a different experience should consider themselves warned: Leading man Robert Pattinson revealed to MTV News that the threequel absolutely takes a more serious tone.

"I've seen a very early cut," Pattinson said at the . "It's good. It's different. It's really different, like, it's kind of serious."

Pattinson clarified that in the case of "Eclipse," the words "different" and "serious" are good things, especially when it comes to the action sequences. "All the kinds of fight scenes that are in 'New Moon,' they're, like, real fights now [in 'Eclipse']," he said. "They're not, like, fantasy things. It's like a horror film!"

The horror label should come as no surprise considering that "30 Days of Night" director David Slade is responsible for "Eclipse." And not to mention the fact that Peter Facinelli previously revealed that fans will see the "true vampire-ness" of his Carlisle Cullen and the rest of his fanged family, including the "dark, dangerous side" of Alice (Ashley Greene), as well as "a darker side" of Jasper (Jackson Rathbone). Another big tipoff to the film's pitch can be found in the "Eclipse" footage we've already seen, like the action-packed teaser that premiered during the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.

Having earned a PG-13 rating for "intense sequences of action and violence," there's no question that "Eclipse" will differ from previous "Twilight Saga" installments. The only question is, do you trust Pattinson's declaration that "different" is a good thing?

Are you looking forward to a darker "Twilight" film? Or do you want less action? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Last week MC Hammer told us he was in love with Rick Ross' new song "MC Hammer," from The Albert Anastasia EP.

"Bi---, I'm MC Hammer, I'm about cream," Ross raps on the track. "I got 30 cars/ A whole lot of dancers, I take 'em everywhere/ I'm MC Hammer."

"I just was reflecting on certain parallels of lifestyles," Ross told us last week during the taping of "VH1 Hip Hop Honors." "I always loved MC Hammer, what Hammer brought to the game, the energy. When I was young, Hammer had the females and the dudes, then he was rocking with Deion Sanders. Everything Hammer brought to the table, his lifestyle. I just kinda put a spin on it and put it into a record. I know he enjoyed it. Most definitely, he enjoyed it."

"Arguably, right now, he's the hottest cat in he game with his flow," Hammer told us of Ross. "That dude is spitting fire. For a cat at this point in his career — on this level, with his skill set — to have a song named 'MC Hammer' and do it the way he done it, you can't do nothing but feel good about that. What else can you do but feel good about that?"

"MC Hammer" has been incorporated into Ross' live shows, as has "Blowin' Money Fast (B.M.F.)."

"That was the anthem of Memorial Day weekend," Ross said of "B.M.F." "Really, I'm just saluting some fallen soldiers that's no longer here with us in the physical. I'm just letting them know that the impact they left on our generation will last a lifetime. Salute to all the G's that's no longer here with us. You know what it is, but we still reppin'."

Ross played a major part in the "Hip Hop Honors," which premiered Monday night on VH1. He and DJ Khaled broke out the fur coats for a performance of "Super High." The Albert Anastasia EP is out now. Meanwhile, Ross' Teflon Don album has a new release date of July 20.

'Green Day: Rock Band' Features Decades Of Dye Jobs And Tattoos

'I thought we could have a lot of fun with 'Rock Band' and highlight different times in our career,' Mike Dirnt tells MTV News.
By James Montgomery

Capturing the likeness of a band that's spent the past two decades rifling through Manic Panic and tattoo ink at a breakneck pace was one of the biggest challenges facing the designers of "Green Day: Rock Band," and Green Day were more than ready to put them to the test.

"I think we were sort of challenging the programmers and the game designers, like, 'OK, but can you do this?' " drummer Tre Cool said. "And they're like, 'Sure!' 'Well ... can you do this?' 'Yeah!' 'OK, but it's got to be ... ' 'Yeah!' They were really good."

"I thought we could have a lot of fun with 'Rock Band' and highlight different times in our career," bassist Mike Dirnt said. "I thought it was a really cool way to kind of show people, you know, just different things [about the group] in a format the size of a TV set."

It seems that — nearly as much as their music — Green Day's career can be broken down into specific looks too: the baby dreadlocks and eye-popping dye jobs of the Dookie days; the bottle-blond, leather-jacket look of the Warning era; or the black spikes (and even blacker eyeliner) of American Idiot, to name just a few. And the designers of "Rock Band" knew that — which is why all those looks made the cut. Plus a whole lot more, too.

"Different details come up in the game that go from, you know, 1994 through 2000. Plus, what year is it now? 2009, 2010?" frontman Billie Joe Armstrong laughed. "And just kind of seeing the different tattoos and wearing a T-shirt I remember. Like, the T-shirt that I wore, and I wrote 'Stupid' on it and put an arrow up to my face. And that's the kind of details that they seem to nail."

And while the hairstyles and tattoos might be instantly recognizable to Green Day fans, there's another — slightly newer — detail that designers decided to include almost as a joke: the band's Drunk Bunny, which started making appearances during American Idiot performances and has since become a fan favorite. And, yes, his inclusion made all the difference to the guys in the band.

"Yeah, that's great too. Sometimes when we were playing festivals, whoever was playing right before us weren't quite getting the crowd going, so I think we ended up with a friend of ours just putting a bunny costume on and said, 'Hey, go warm up the crowd!' " Armstrong smiled. "So, you know, they'd just down beers and get everybody to do the YMCA, you know? It's definitely a nice touch."

MTV News is celebrating the release of "Green Day: Rock Band" with a week of special coverage. For more on the game, check out our Multiplayer blog. For a chance to win a "Rock Band" guitar signed by the guys in Green Day, head over to the MTV Newsroom blog.

We break down the latest footage from the 'Twilight Saga' flick, before it hits theaters June 30.
By Larry Carroll

Jacob (Taylor Lautner) is waiting for Bella in "Eclipse"

Have you had time to absorb it yet?

No, we don't mean the MTV Movie Awards kiss, the big dance or even Katy Perry and Snoop. We're talking about the exclusive "Eclipse" footage premiered at Sunday night's Movie Awards. It's your best look yet at the June 30 "Twilight Saga" film, and now we're here with a shot-by-shot analysis.

So watch the video, look at the screen grabs we've captured for you, and play along at home. Because there's only so many times you can stare longingly at your calendar and scream: "How much longer?!?"

Shot 1: A concerned Bella, walking hurriedly across the Forks High parking lot with Edward at her side.

Shot 2: A wet-haired Jacob looking back over his shoulder at them. Gotta love the intense, moody soundtrack.

Shot 3: "Hey," Bella says as Jacob steps up to them.

Shot 4: "Charlie said you left town," begins Jacob, referencing Bella's dad.

Shot 5: "Yeah," Bella, with a hoodie pulled up over her head, responds. "To visit my mom. Why?"

Shot 6: "He's checking to see if you're still human," Edward sneers with an uneasy smile.

Shot 7: Jacob bites his lip but can't hold back. "Look, I'm here to warn you," he says to Edward. "If your kind come on our land again ... "

Shot 8: Edward gets all up in Jacob's grill: "You should leave. Now."

Shot 9: "She has a right to know," responds Jacob, softening his voice. "She is the one the redhead wants."

Shot 10: Bella realizes where all this is headed. "Victoria?" she asks. "Alice's vision!"

Shot 11: "I was trying to protect you," Edward responds. When is this guy going to realize that deceiving Bella does not end well? Oh, and check out Jake's intense "let's rumble!" face.

Shot 12: "By lying to me!" Bella says back.

Shot 13: Bella addresses Jacob. "You!" she says. "Why haven't you called me back?" Geez, the least a werewolf can do is text, right?

Shot 14: Furrowing his brow, Jacob responds: "I had nothing to say."

Shot 15: "Well, I have tons," Bella says, as Jacob walks away. "Hold on!"

Shot 16: "Bella!" Edward says, clutching her arm.

Shot 17: "You have to trust me," she says.

Shot 18: "I do trust you," he responds.

Shot 19: "It's him I don't trust," he says, eliciting a stare from Jacob.

Shot 20: Bella walks away in silence. Edward stares off, realizing he's done something wrong.

Shot 22: Bella climbs on Jacob's bike, prompting a big smile from him. "Lose the grin, Jacob. We're just going for a ride." He responds, "Hold on tight" — but holds back on any usage of the term "spider monkey."

Shot 23: Taylor Lautner clearly seems to be driving the motorcycle, but "Bella" seems to be suspiciously looking away from the camera on purpose. A stunt KStew, perhaps?

Shot 24: Let the sizzle reel begin! Various highlights roll, many of which have been glimpsed in trailers past. First, we see Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) being pursued through the forest by Jasper.

Shot 25: The wolf pack is back and not looking too pleased.

Shot 26: Jacob brings the drama. "I'm gonna fight for you."

Shot 27: The wolves, chasing Victoria across a canyon.

Shot 28: "Every move I make," Bella says as we see her kissing Edward, "hurts someone."

Shot 29: Coolest glimpse in the trailer? Ed and Jake finally throw down.

Shot 30: The newborn vampires, emerging from the water.

Shot 31: The showdown we've all been waiting for, with Jasper, Emmett and the rest battling the newborn vampires.

Shot 32: Shirtless Jacob, longing Bella.

Shot 33: More battle, and a quick glimpse at the Volturi.

Shot 34: Edward and Bella embracing.

Shot 35: "I'll protect you," Edward tells Bella. "No matter what."

Shot 36: The Victoria-in-a-tree sequence, with Edward knocking it over a ravine.

Shot 37: Title card: "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." Only 23 more days, folks!

President Obama Delivers Commencement Speech At Kalamazoo Central High School

'Be a part of something bigger than yourself,' he urged the Michigan students, who won Get Schooled's Race to the Top contest.

In early March, students at Kalamazoo Central High School submitted a video to Get Schooled's Race to the Top competition, a nationwide search to find the school most dedicated to making — as Get Schooled put it — "great strides on personal responsibility, academic excellence and college readiness." More than 1,000 high schools across the country entered; Kalamazoo Central won.

On Monday (June 7), the school finally received its prize: President Barack Obama showed up to deliver the commencement address for the class of 2010.

And it was worth the wait. Delivering his first-ever high school graduation speech, President Obama lauded Kalamazoo Central's students for their hard work, dedication and ingenuity and called the school a model for success in the 21st century.

"It gives me great confidence to know that we've got such incredible young leaders that are going to be remaking the world in so many ways," Obama said. "I'm here tonight because I think America has a lot to learn from Kalamazoo Central about what makes a successful school in this new century."

Obama earned cheers for those remarks and for another passage early in his commencement speech. He mentioned an article in the local newspaper that quoted a Central student named Kelsey Wilson saying that her school "never gets credit for what we do."

"Well, Kelsey, I'm here tonight because ... I know, and America knows what you've got at Kalamazoo Central," Obama said, singling Wilson out from the audience. "You are amazing. We know!"

Obama got more than a few laughs and whoops when he admitted that, in his younger days, he "sometimes ... partied too much" ("This is a cautionary tale; don't be cheering when I say that," he chuckled) but that he quickly learned that the only way to achieve lasting success in this world was through tireless dedication and hard work. And to that end, he also used the speech as an opportunity to give the class of 2010 some post-grad pointers ("Right now, you're getting plenty of advice from everybody. Some of it's helpful," he joked. "And so I hate to pile on, but while I'm here, what the heck?"), urging them to never settle for instant gratification, take responsibility for their successes and failures, and strive to expand their horizons — not just in the field of education, but in life as well.

"Don't just hang out with people who look like you or go to the same church as you or share the same political views. Broaden your experiences, because that's how you'll learn what it's like to walk in somebody else's shoes," Obama said. "Be a part of something bigger than yourself ... because there is work to be done, and your country needs you. We've got an economy to rebuild ... we've got an oil spill to clean up, we've got clean energy to discover. ... It's going to be up to you. Pursue excellence in everything you do. After all, you are the Giants, and with the education you got here, there's nothing you can't do."

Before delivering the commencement address — which was held at nearby Western Michigan University, due to the large crowds — Obama met with Kalamazoo Central's graduating class in a special ceremony. The school's video (called "We Are the Giants") was selected as the winning entry by Obama and the Department of Education.

Best MTV Awards Show Kisses, From Sandra And Scarlett To Madonna, Britney And Christina

Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson only the latest stars to engage in surprising onstage smooch.
By Kara Warner

In the words of famed "Casablanca" piano man Sam, "A kiss is just a kiss." Particularly when it comes to memorable — and sometimes awkward — moments at MTV awards shows.

There have been so many kisses at the network's big events over the years that at least one big smooch can now be expected at each show. Sunday's MTV Movie Awards proved to be no exception, as two of the evening's most talked-about moments featured locked lips between two very pretty ladies and two not as pretty dudes. The kiss between Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson has inspired us to highlight some of the channel's surprising yet sexy moments over the years, while Jonah Hill and Russell Brand's smooch has had us recalling some surprising yet unsexy bits.

At 2003's Video Music Awards, the most talked-about moment was hands-down the three-way girl-on-girl-on-girl kiss between Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. It wasn't enough that the year's two dominant teen pop princesses were performing with the MTV music legend, oh no. Midway through their "Like a Virgin" medley, Madonna leaned to her right and shared a steamy kiss with Britney. Then she leaned to her left for a smooch with Aguilera.

"Twilight" fans were pretty frustrated when their favorite movie couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, teased fans by almost-but-not-quite smooching to celebrate their Best Kiss win in 2009. That brief encounter added fuel to the "are-they-or-aren't-they-a-real-life-couple" fire for their fans to obsess over and analyze for months afterward. This year, after faking awkwardness for a while, they finally locked lips, if only for a few seconds, turned away from the crowd.

KStew and RPattz were good, undoubtedly. But "Notebook" stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were great. Not only is the kiss that sealed their 2005 Best Kiss nomination and eventual win one of the most talked-about Best Kiss moments in movie history, the two stars took MTV Movie Awards acceptance "speeches" to unprecedented swoon-worthy territory. Upon hearing their names called, Gosling and McAdams walked up to the stage together, parting ways at the top of the stairs to take places at opposite ends.

They paused to seemingly loosen up for something big. McAdams shed her jacket and adjusted her strapless top; Gosling did a couple of warm-up jumps and then crooked his finger across the stage at his co-star, whereupon they met in the middle for a very effective reenactment of their movie's famous moment (and quite possibly the greatest Best Kiss moment in MTV history to date).

Not all kisses are created equal, however. Some MTV kisses would be better erased from collective memory and video vaults. Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen — very possibly in an attempt to spoof McAdams and Gosling — accepted their 2007 win for Best Kiss with gusto. When the "Talledega Nights" stars commit to something, they do so wholeheartedly, sealing their moment with a very sloppy, drawn-out smooch.

The most eyebrow-raising moment was the infamous kiss between newlyweds Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley. The couple had already made waves with the release of Jackson's awkwardly intimate video for "You Are Not Alone," in which both Presley and Jackson appear half-naked in a bedroom setting. They upped the ante completely when they opened the 1994 Video Music Awards. "Nobody thought this would last," Jackson said, and then embraced his wife for a lengthy, surprise smooch.

New 'Eclipse' Photos Emerge

Bella, Edward, Jacob and other beloved 'Twilight' characters populate 20 new production stills.
By Josh Wigler

There's less than a month to go before the release of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," but even three weeks of waiting seems like an eternity before the big-screen return of Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner). With any luck, your appetites were somewhat satiated by the exclusive clip that debuted at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, but if you're still craving an immediate trip to the world of "Twilight," this new batch of official "Eclipse" production stills should do the trick.

Twenty new photos were released on the official "Twilight" Facebook page Monday evening (June 7), offering fans with detailed glimpses at fan-favorite characters and exotic locations. The stills cover a wide gamut of scenes, including Bella's mortal high school pals Jessica (Anna Kendrick), Eric (Justin Chon), Angela (Christian Serratos) and Mike (Michael Welch) gathered near a school bus, as well as the supernatural Cullen family banded together in the picturesque woods of Forks, Washington.

Although Team Jacob supporters hoping for shirtless pictures of Taylor Lautner will be in for a disappointment, the actor's werewolf brethren more than compensate in the skin department with four flashy photos. Also pictured is Riley (Xavier Samuel), one of Victoria's (Bryce Dallas Howard) many vampire minions and an eventual nemesis of Edward Cullen's.

In addition to the sexy and action-packed pictures, a significant portion of the photos are devoted to quieter moments featuring Stewart as Bella. She appears alone with characters such as Edward, Jacob and even her father, Charlie (Billy Burke), not to mention a well-shot behind-the-scenes photograph alongside "Eclipse" director David Slade who is not replacing Robert Pattinson as Edward, despite an amusing quip from one sarcastic commenter.

"VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South" promises fans energetic performances by some of rap's all-time greats, when the latest installment in the tribute series airs Monday night (June 7).

This year's show is dedicated to hip-hop originating from down bottom: Luther Campbell and his Miami group the 2 Live Crew; producers Jermaine Dupri, Organized Noize and Timbaland; J. Prince and the Houston-based Rap-A-Lot music empire; and Master P and the No Limit soldiers who turned New Orleans on its ear.

"Tonight is gonna be historical," DJ Khaled told MTV News last week as the show taped at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. "To be a part of a historical moment like this ... I been with [Rick] Ross, I seen Bun B, I seen Luke. I seen Pitbull, Trina, Goodie Mob. Just the rehearsal alone, I had goose bumps. This is big for the South — this is big for music period."

Among the acts honoring this year's class are Khaled and Ross, Paul Wall, Lil Jon, Drake, Trina, Pitbull, Nelly and the St. Lunatics, as well as Diddy and Gucci Mane. Meanwhile, T.I. and Jonah Hill participated as presenters; Craig Robinson hosts.

"Just being in jail three weeks ago, that was so big for me," Gucci told Miss Info about his involvement in the ceremony. "No pressure. Everything is downhill from there," he told the media personality. "Nothing bigger than ... getting your freedom back. I don't have nothing to prove."

During rehearsals last week, Silkk the Shocker said he was proud of what his brother, Master P, had accomplished.

"With me, first of all, shouts out to him, 'cause I got to see greatness for a long time," Silkk said. "It's very good to finally see him get honored for it. And then, I think a lot of people out there also appreciate what he's done. I perform all the time, but to actually perform and give back to him and show him what he means to us, that's amazing for me."

P told MTV News that one of his greatest contributions was selling so many records without the backing of a major label.

"When it comes down to putting out records, people are afraid. They say, 'I don't want to put out too many records,' " P explained of the conventional rationale. "My thing was, with No Limit, when you're hot, you're hot, you give 'em whatever you can give 'em. That's what I teach my family: When you got 'em, give it to 'em, 'cause when you got a fanbase, feed that fanbase. There's no such thing as too much music. We accomplished something that nobody did, to be able to sell 75 million records independently and to be honored for hip-hop is a blessing and lets you know we been dong the right thing."

Some of the can't-miss moments on this year's "Hip Hop Honors" are Bow Wow dressed up like Kris Kross to perform the JD-produced classic "Jump," and the lively return of Mystikal during P's "Make 'Em Say Ugh."

Whose set are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments!

T.I. is feverishly at work on his forthcoming album, King Uncaged, his first collection of new music since finishing his federal prison sentence earlier this year for a 2007 gun rap.

The Atlanta MC has rolled out two tracks, "I'm Back" and "Yeah Ya Know (Takers)," in addition to his recently released F--- a Mixtape. After going through a challenging period in his life, with the death of his best friend and jail time, the rapper has a new perspective on things.

"I'm older. I'm wiser. I'm more mature," Tip told MTV News on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards, his first awards show since leaving prison. "I'm more patient. And I just take it as it comes."

So does that mean we'll be seeing a more conscious Tip on his next project? "Nah, not at all," he said. "I still feel like I have my edge. But I have some intellect and insight to go with it. I feed off of all my experiences, music-wise."

For now, T.I. continues to work on King Uncaged, slated for a late-summer release. He's spent some time working with The-Dream for his album and for the singer's next project. The-Dream told MTV News in April that Tip's new material is impressive.

"Tip is in a zone, man," the singer said. "He's in one of those things. But me just being a lyric guy, what makes songs, I think, hits is when it comes from the heart and you really are saying something you mean. And you can feel it through the passion."

Mark Wahlberg Apologizes To Tom Felton For MTV Movie Awards Heckling

'Thanks for being a good sport,' Wahlberg says to 'Harry Potter' star after show.
By Kara Warner

Between the random kisses, show-stopping performances and surprise appearances, Sunday's MTV Movie Awards were full of wild and crazy moments. Chief among them was the presentation of the Best Villain award, which Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Mendes and Dwayne Johnson were supposed to present. They were soon interrupted by "The Other Guys" stars Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell, swinging from the rafters on wires after what they said was a failed attempt to drop in on the presenters.

While the failed pranksters were left to hang around, "Harry Potter" star Tom Felton took the stage to make a sweet-natured acceptance speech that Wahlberg and Ferrell unceremoniously heckled.

After the win Felton, being the good-natured Brit that he is, took it all in stride and told MTV News that despite the awkward chastising from Wahlberg, the win was "the most surreal moment of my life," he said. "I had Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell hanging above my head on a wire. So, yeah, I can't know what to make of that."

Wahlberg then suddenly came up behind Felton during the interview and apologized. "We were only kidding," he said, and patted Felton on the back. "Sorry about that, great job. ... Thanks for being a good sport."

Wahlberg's classy make-nice move left Felton a little giddy. "You've got that on camera, yeah? Evidence! We're tight now!" he joked. "We're thinking about [a rap album]. We got some TV shows we're thinking about. He wants me to be on 'Entourage.' I said I'm not too sure about it. We're tight. [Laughs.] I can't believe it. Amazing!"

Felton took to his Twitter feed to announce "a big thank you to mark wahlberg for co-writing my acceptance speech, we got together a couple of days ago and wrote that little skit." Then later clarified that he was joking, and that he was "a bit stumped by the situation but did my best."

Felton's fans were ecstatic about his win, briefly making the subject a Twitter trending topic at one point in the evening. Tracy, a commenter on the fansite Feltbeats summed up their collective enthusiasm with the following: "It's about time someone from ['Harry Potter'] won an award! I'm tired of these great films being ignored, especially when Tom [Felton] and others have worked so hard. I'm especially pleased for Tom because he is such a nice, polite, kind and caring young man and he richly deserves this award. You guys are great!!!"

Robert Pattinson Says Kristen Stewart MTV Movie Awards Kiss 'Didn't Work'

RPattz says he had 'the best ideas' for what to do with Kristen Stewart at the MTV Movie Awards.

"Twilight" fans were amused but frustrated in 2009 when their favorite movie couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, shared an appropriately angsty almost-kiss to accept their MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss. As such, the MTV favorites were no doubt hoping for something more satisfying from the are-they-or-aren't-they couple when they accepted their second-straight Golden Popcorn for Best Kiss on Sunday night.

"I had the best ideas last night," Pattinson said, admitting that he'd been brainstorming the night before the show. "And I was telling everyone, 'Listen, just leave it to me, I've got it all under control.' ... I was telling everyone all these ideas. I gave them a whole selection and no one thought they were funny, so then we ended up doing something which didn't work."

When the big moment arrived, Stewart told the audience that their movie kisses are made possible and award-worthy only with the help of "smoke and mirrors." They followed that proclamation not with a short and sweet smooch, but by awkwardly attempting to kiss, bumping noses and hands in weird places, getting close and pulling apart a couple of times.

"We probably shouldn't do this, right?" Kristen said, but finally Pattinson grabbed her and spun her away from the crowd for a quick kiss that was mostly obscured by his body. It would have seemed like too much of a tease if it weren't for Pattinson's blushing smile as he dashed off the stage.

Naturally the moment left many fans scratching their heads, wondering whether the duo had planned their little skit in advance or not.

RPattz didn't think their attempt at slapstick worked, but do you, Twilighters? Talk about it in the comments.

'Jersey Shore' Star The Situation Vs. Taylor Lautner: Who Has Better Abs?

Posted: 07 Jun 2010 03:55 AM PDT

'There can only be one Situation,' the Situation himself says of the showdown.

Fans of the "Twilight" franchise must pick a side: either Team Edward or Team Jacob. But the hunky werewolf's loyalists might want to make room on their plate for a completely different rivalry: Team Jacob vs. Team Situation?

While walking the red carpet at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, "Jersey Shore" castmates Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino were asked to weigh in on which star had the better "situation" going on: the "Jersey Shore" star or Taylor Lautner.

For Ronnie, it's not even a question who has the better shirtless situation: "You've got to go with the Situation, the original."

But the Situation himself seemed to be looking for a humble and amicable resolution. Instead, he offered: "You know what? The Situation is called the Situation for a reason. There can only be one Situation."

It's hard to say whether Ronnie and the Situation's opinions reflect those of the rest of the "Jersey Shore" cast, as Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino told MTV News earlier in the night that they're fans of the "Twilight" actors.

"I'm a fan of them," Pauly D revealed, with Vinny adding: "I wish everybody success. We're both doing our thing right now, and we're both guests at the MTV Movie Awards. Can't ask for anything more than that, you know?"

They might feel that way now, but what if they were asked who had the better hair between Pauly and RPattz? That would be a whole different "situation" altogether.

Alanis Morissette Marries Rapper Souleye

Musicians tied the knot during a private ceremony in Los Angeles late last month.

Alanis Morissette married rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway during an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles on May 22. People reports that the ceremony was attended by family members and close friends.

"So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married," Morissette later revealed on her Twitter page. "We're very excited to embark on this journey with each other."

Morissette and Souleye married barely over a week before the "Jagged Little Pill" rocker's 36th birthday on June 1. While it's the first marriage for both musicians, Morissette was previously engaged to "The Proposal" star Ryan Reynolds. The two called off their wedding in 2007, though the singer's 2004 comments on romance and love are certainly thoughtful given her recent nuptials.

"I think for a long time, because of my compulsively wanting to be viewed as an überfeminist, I would really stay away from things like being a hopeless romantic, being dependent on a man, or even wanting to be with a man, frankly," she said at the time. "[Now] I look forward to growing old with my boyfriend, the both us growing old and wrinkly together. I heard this really great metaphor, that being in a long-term relationship is like a Ferris wheel, whether you stay when it's on the bottom or whether you get off, and I'm realizing at this point in my life that I'm not getting off, finally. Now I know it's an ongoing journey of us helping each other, healing each other, killing each other, laughing together. It's sexy, it's everything."

Share your well-wishes for Alanis in the comments!

Anna Kendrick 'Sprinted Onstage' To Accept MTV Movie Awards' Best Movie

'I didn't know if I should go up at the end or not,' she says of her small role in 'New Moon.'

Anna Kendrick spent much of last year as a critical darling, rewarded with one nomination after another for her performance opposite George Clooney in "Up in the Air." Despite all the acclaim, Kendrick seems convinced that most of her MTV fans still know her only as Jessica Stanley from the "Twilight" films.

Judging by her visibly surprised expression upon hearing her name called for the Best Breakout Star at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, the starlet appeared not to have considered the Twilighters' voting power.

"I am not cool enough to win an MTV Movie Award!" she said when she accepted her Golden Popcorn, beating out Chris Pine, Zach Galifianakis, Gabourey Sidibe, Logan Lerman and Quinton Aaron for the honor. "So I am not going to mess it up by talking any more than I should."

Later on in the show, Kendrick faced a similarly self-conscious struggle in deciding whether she should join her castmembers onstage to accept the Best Movie award for "New Moon."

"It's so weird. I'm not, like, a big part of the movies, and I understand people are in it for Rob [Pattinson], Taylor [Lautner] and Kristen [Stewart]," she told MTV News. "So I didn't know if I should go up at the end or not [when the cast won Best Movie]. At the last second, I sprinted onstage.

"I was really psyched to get Best Breakout," she added. "That was so exciting, and then when ['New Moon'] won, I was the idiot who crawled onstage at the last second."

What did you think of Kendrick's win and acceptance speech? Would you have second-guessed getting up onstage with the "Twilight" cast? Sound off in the comments!

'Eclipse' 'Exceeded All My Expectations,' Peter Facinelli Says

'Seeing the whole Cullen tribe just roll up their sleeves and go to town? That's pretty exciting,' he tells MTV News.

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Take a deep breath, sit down and get ready for some news that might make you angry, folks: Somebody out there in the world has seen "Eclipse" — and it's not you.

"I just saw it two days ago," a hot new film reviewer who simply bills himself as "The Fatch" told us Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards. "To see that movie [was amazing]; it exceeded all my expectations."

OK, in case you haven't figured it out yet, "The Fatch" is actually Peter Facinelli. And he saw the film because he has one key advantage over ordinary people like ourselves: He plays family patriarch Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the "Twilight" films. So, needless to say, he's got a few strings he can pull from time to time.

"I love the battle sequence," Facinelli said of his favorite scene in the movie, a briefly-glimpsed-in-the-trailers climax that has Jasper, Emmett, Alice and the rest throwing down alongside werewolves as they take on a ravenous army of newborn vampires. "I've got to tell ya — seeing the whole Cullen tribe just roll up their sleeves and go to town? That's pretty exciting."

It's no secret that the "Twilight" stars love the MTV Movie Awards and have annually made the trek — not just to pick up some Golden Popcorn, but also to re-energize themselves with a powerful reminder of why they're working so hard on this massive franchise. According to Facinelli, Sunday was another lesson on why it's time to get to work promoting "Eclipse" and then dive right into "Breaking Dawn" madness.

"It's all the fans. I mean, I'm humbly overwhelmed by their support and love of these movies," Facinelli marveled. "I hope they enjoy 'Eclipse' just as much, if not more. It's my favorite book of the series, and it was a high-water mark for me going in."

Will Taylor Lautner Be Shirtless In 'Abduction'? Lily Collins Thinks So

Posted: 07 Jun 2010 03:05 AM PDT

'I'm sure they'll work out something to make sure he does [lose his shirt] at some point,' she laughs to MTV News.

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — At this point in Taylor Lautner's young career, two things are clear: There is a hunger to see him in movies outside the "Twilight" franchise, and Hollywood is all-too-eager to give the fast-rising leading man work. Over the weekend, as Taylor worked the MTV Movie Awards crowd with his formidable charm and trademark smile, his next leading lady was eager to talk about the film they're about to shoot together.

"I'm off shooting this summer for 'Abduction' with Taylor Lautner," said 21-year-old Lily Collins, most recently seen in the Oscar-winning film "The Blind Side," on the Lautner project often described as a younger Jason Bourne movie. "It will be a thriller with action, lots of stunts."

Sigourney Weaver recently signed on to the high-profile flick, which will be Lautner's first true post-"Twilight" performance (we'd count "Valentine's Day," but we blinked and missed him). Directed by John Singleton, Lautner stars as a teen who stumbles upon his baby picture on a missing-persons website — setting off a massive quest to find his true identity.

"Three months of hanging out with Taylor," grinned the stunning Collins, dripping with sarcasm. "I don't know what I'm going to do!"

But in the minds of many Twilighters, there's only one important question that needs to be answered before they fork over their hard-earned money for a ticket: Will Taylor be displaying that now-famous torso of his? "I'm sure they'll work out something to make sure he does [lose his shirt] at some point," Collins admitted. "Which everyone would totally hate, right?"

A few moments later, Taylor would take the stage alongside his "Twilight" co-stars to unveil an exclusive "Eclipse" scene and pick up a few Golden Popcorns as well. Many in the crowd would have gladly given up their black T-shirts for a chance to meet TayCob, and soon enough, Lily will be working alongside him for months. But, as she told us, they're already tight.

"We're friends," she said.

'Jersey Shore' Stars Pauly D And Vinny Are 'Twilight' Fans

Pauly says getting love from celebs like Will Ferrell and Charlize Theron 'blows my mind.'
By Josh Wigler

Although the stars of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" walked away from the 2010 MTV Movie Awards with five Golden Popcorn statues to their names, they weren't the only ones feeling victorious. The castmembers of "Jersey Shore" were fist-pumping their way up and down the red carpet at the awards show as well.

But for any fans hoping for a "Twilight" vs. "Jersey Shore" showdown, you're in for a bit of a disappointment. Speaking with MTV News, "Pauly D" DelVecchio and Vinny Guadagnino revealed that they have nothing but respect for Team Edward, Team Jacob and everyone in between.

"I'm a fan of them," said Pauly D, while Vinny added: "I wish everybody success. We're both doing our thing right now, and we're both guests at the MTV Movie Awards. Can't ask for anything more than that, you know?"

Indeed, Pauly D and Vinny seemed more than content to simply attend the MTV Movie Awards. The pair talked about how surreal it was to be surrounded by so many celebrities — particularly the ones who actually recognize the "Jersey Shore" crew.

"It blows my mind," Pauly said. "I heard Will Ferrell, he said my name last night in a video [with] Mark Wahlberg, like, 'Who do you know from the "Jersey Shore"?' They're like, 'Pauly D.' That's crazy to me!"

But Pauly's reputation with Ferrell and Wahlberg paled in comparison to the news that Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron is a fan of Pauly's and the show. "Sick! See what I'm saying? That's what's up," Pauly laughed. "That's crazy! I love that. I like that. Tell her I said, 'What's up'!"

Snooki, Tom Felton, Jessica Alba Rock Twitter During 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Stars give a behind-the-scenes glimpse at what was going on during the big show.

Fans weren't the only ones tweeting throughout the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night — plenty of the show's stars took to Twitter as well, and we were watching. Everyone from Best Villain winner Tom Felton to the "Jersey Shore" crew posted about what went on from where they were sitting.

Jessica Alba offered props to show host Aziz Ansari, tweeting a compressed mini-review of his stint as the show's on-stage ringmaster.

"Aziz killed it 2nite as host 4 MTV movie awards," Alba tweeted. "Tom Cruise dancing = hilarious & Ken Jeong was out of control funny. Gd times."

Elizabeth Banks also tweeted about Ansari taking her on-the-ground commentary a step further by letting everyone know what he looked and smelled like in person.

"Fun after party for @azizansari after MTV Movie Awards," the "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" actress said. "Aziz was big pimping in his white tux. He also smelled vaguely of olives."

Ansari's most vivid tweet came after seeing the star of from "The Karate Kid" remake.

"Jaden Smith went buckwild during my monologue!!!," he wrote. "Hahahaha. This is nuts."

"Harry Potter" star Tom Felton initially focused on thanking the voters who helped secure his award for the night, but then got into the heckling he received from Mark Wahlberg (who was hanging from the stage's rafters with Will Ferrell for a jokey stunt during the award presentation) during his acceptance speech.

"Thank you for a truly unforgettable evening! Had a great night! Thank you so much for every single vote! THANKYOU!!! X," he wrote, "and a big thank you to Mark Wahlberg for co-writing my acceptance speech, we got together a couple of days ago and wrote that little skit x."

He quickly tagged the Wahlberg reference as a joke, though. "I was joking about the Wahlberg speech! I was a bit stumped by the situation but did my best, not an everyday occurrence x," he explained.

Wahlberg apologized to Felton for the interruption — in front of MTV News' cameras — shortly after the show.

Tom Cruise's account, which is mostly maintained by his personal staff, produced a few photos of the show and congratulated Kirsten Stewart, Sandra Bullock and Robert Pattinson on their accolades.

Elsewhere, Snooki and the Hilton sisters shared a few photo ops and sounded excited to see each other.

"The Hilton sistas! Love you bitches!" Snooki wrote after bumping into Paris and Nicky and capturing the moment via TweetPhoto. Nicky even returned the love with a response shortly thereafter. "We love you too!" the younger Hilton wrote.

So even if the "Jersey Shore" cast hasn't managed to earn any big-screen nominations just yet, at least one of them has been making new friends.

Mark Wahlberg Says He's 'Focused' On Bringing 'Entourage' To Big Screen

'In the trailer, you see [Ari, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas,' he jokes of possible story lines, at MTV Movie Awards.

"Entourage" fans have spent seasons following Vincent Chase and his loyal crew as they work to land the young actor big parts in big movies. Now, the real-life actor/producer who helped bring the series to HBO wants to get a movie of his own made. Mark Wahlberg confirmed that a big-screen adaptation of the show is in the works, when we spoke to him on the red carpet at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. "The Other Guys" star said an "Entourage" movie is more than just a possibility — it's the project he's most determined to see in theaters.

"I am more focused on making that movie than my own films," Wahlberg told MTV News, exhibiting all the passion of Jeremy Piven's energetic talent agent, Ari Gold. "I just think we can make a great movie. I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they've always wanted more. I think we're going to do it. We just have to end strong, and this season is, by far, the best season so far."

Over the course of six seasons, "Entourage" has covered a lot of ground: Vinnie has gone from rising star to leading man (with the world's highest-grossing blockbuster among his credits), only to see the work dry up, going from out-of-work actor and back to emerging star once again. It's been quite the journey. So what story line could an "Entourage" movie explore? Wahlberg offered up one particularly memorable scene, though it had nothing to do with Vinnie.

"In the trailer, you see [Ari and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened," Wahlberg imagined. "It would be pretty cool!"

If that's not enough to sell you, then "Entourage" probably isn't your cup of tea. But Wahlberg's enthusiasm for the project was palpable. He's already considering making a cameo in the film: "Possibly, yeah. I've been on the show so many times, and we've got some great cameos coming up this year. It's getting pretty good."
