Beyonce Battles 'Avatar' For Best Fight At The MTV Movie Awards

'Sherlock Holmes,' 'Wolverine' and 'Percy Jackson' are also in the running at this Sunday's awards show.

You talking to me? You talking to me?!

Didn't think so. We've entered the world of Best Fight at the MTV Movie Awards, and here you'd best tread carefully. Otherwise you might find an enraged Beyoncé pulling your hair, a mutated Hugh Jackman slicing you to pieces or a jacked-up Robert Downey Jr. bringing you to your knees with his mind grapes and then knocking your lights out with his fists.

Before the big show this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, check out all our nominees for Best Fight, and vote for your favorite by heading to MovieAwards.MTV.com.

Beyoncé Knowles vs. Ali Larter in "Obsessed"
The big takeaway from this girl-on-girl throw-down? Do not mess with Beyoncé's man. If you do, you're likely to get tossed across the room, slammed into a wall and, then, well, it's gonna get really ugly. Poor, insane Ali Larter didn't know what hit her. And hit her again. The only destiny for that obsessed young woman? The grave.

Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber vs. Ryan Reynolds in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"
Jackman and Schreiber play brothers who spend most of this flick trying to pummel each other into the ground. But when they're faced with a super-engineered mutant in the shape of a hairless Reynolds, the bros team up and beat that dude down. All three of them end up getting stabbed; none seem to mind that much. That's just how those mutants roll.

Logan Lerman vs. Jake Abel in "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief"
This one's a story about a dyslexic high school kid who finds out he's the son of Poseidon. Cue a journey across the land and into the depths of hell to save the world from destruction. Along the way, Lerman gains a magical thunderbolt, some high-tops with wings and the ability to manipulate water in a way the U.S. military might be keen to figure out too. All three of these things come in handy for his skyscraper brawl with Abel.

Robert Downey Jr. vs. Mark Strong in "Sherlock Holmes"
Sherlock Holmes as an action hero? We'll let Downey himself set this one up. "He's a total badass," the actor told us. "He thinks through all eventualities, possibilities and counterattacks when he's fighting, so he actually has the fight worked out before he starts." No arguments from us, as his fight against Mark Strong makes clear. The two clash high above the Thames — no matter that the Tower Bridge is only half-finished and that Rachel McAdams goes tumbling off at one point. Hey, when it's time to kick some ass, nothing can get in the way.

Sam Worthington vs. Stephen Lang in "Avatar"
In one corner we've got a big blue alien controlled by a paraplegic human. In the other we've got a scar-faced ex-soldier in an armored suit. At stake is the fate of an entire race of nature-loving humanoids. No big deal. Worthington is a man possessed, and nothing (not even one scary-ass warrior) will stand in the way of him winning the fight and saving his otherworldly love.

Amanda Seyfried Leads Best Scared-As-Sh-- Nominees At Movie Awards

Zombies, hell, ghosts, man-eaters and aliens — these are a few of our favorite things, and they left Alison Lohman, Sharlto Copley, Katie Featherston, Jesse Eisenberg and Amanda Seyfried frightened beyond belief and competing for the Best Scared-As-Sh-- Performance at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

Sharlto Copley may have been able to fend off aliens in "District 9," but that doesn't necessarily mean he will be able to fight off his fellow nominees, none of whom happen to be aliens. (At least we don't think so.)

Will Katie Featherston finally be able to enjoy a good night's sleep after a possible win for her turn in "Paranormal Activity"?

Fighting zombies isn't easy — so after staving off those annoying undead, flesh-eating creatures in "Zombieland," will Jesse Eisenberg still have the strength to keep his competition at bay?

Although a lot of people would love for Megan Fox to chase after them, her "Jennifer's Body" co-star Amanda Seyfried wished she could get her human-eating pal off her back. However, on Sunday, Seyfried herself will be chasing after the Golden Popcorn.

Alison Lohman went to hell and back in "Drag Me to Hell," which was more than enough to prepare her for a possible trip to the Gibson Amphitheatre stage to collect an award.

Black Mafia Family's Big Meech, Chicago street legend Larry Hoover and hip-hop's supreme stage commander MC Hammer — Rick Ross salutes a few OGs on his new mixtape, The Albert Anastasia EP.

"Bi---, I'm MC Hammer, I'm about cream," Ross raps on "MC Hammer." "I got 30 cars/ A whole lot of dancers, I take 'em everywhere/ I'm MC Hammer."

The stage great behind pop-culture explosions such as "Can't Touch This" and "Pray" said he loves the tribute.

"We've been back and forth on the tweets, but my thing is one thing only: face to face, man," Hammer said. "I'm hollering at him face to face. I'm heading to Miami. You saw the tweets, and the bottom line is, it's a very unique thing for a cat to use your name. I don't know nobody that named their record after another hip-hop artist ever. The name of the record is 'MC Hammer.' That's crazy. For an artist of Ross' caliber, that's a whole 'nother thing. Arguably, right now, he's the hottest dude in the game. He's spitting fire. For a cat on that level, with his skill set, to have a record called 'MC Hammer' and do it the way he's done it, because it pays a lot of respect and homage to what I laid down, you can't help but be honored by that."

"MC Hammer," as well as Anastasia's "Blowin' Money Fast (B.M.F.)," heated up the clubs in Miami over Memorial Day weekend and has had a steady presence in the streets since the tape came out last week. Hammer said he's humbled by the Bawse's show of respect.

"I done got every award that a man can get in the music business — every one. I got 'em all. Diamond awards, Grammys, American Music Awards, People's Choice Awards — you name it. Everything that you can do and every accolade you can receive. But that record that Ross did is on the level of all that. That's how it feels to me."

Hammer, who also said he loved Ross' "2 Legit 2 Quit" reference in "Mafia Music," said he's down to shoot a video for Ross' theme song but is keeping quiet about any ideas he and Ross might have for the clip.

Kimberly Caldwell Relives Bloody Prom Mishap On 'When I Was 17'

'American Idol' vet tells all -- show airs Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV!

Kimberly Caldwell has turned heads on "American Idol" and the TV Guide Channel, and things were pretty much the same when she was 17 ... only, back then, she was turning heads for an entirely different reason: She was the girl positively covered in blood.

It seems that, back in high school, Caldwell was the talk of her prom, although not for any of the reasons the bubbly Texas blonde would've preferred. And on the next episode of MTV's 'When I Was 17," she spills the details about the prom-night mishap that haunts her to this day.

"When I was 17, I got asked out by one of the really hot senior boys to prom and I was, like, so excited," Caldwell said. "And so I'm with all these seniors, and we go to this really beautiful restaurant, and we're walking, and I had gotten this really, really pretty dress, and all my friends, like, came over and helped me get ready and everything."

The incident that ensued was not something out of Stephen King's "Carrie," but the effect was not that different.

"I was so excited, and of course I had put on my 'I'm so cool, this is not too exciting' face. So we went to this restaurant, and before we even ate dinner, I tripped and I fell," she continued. "My dress got split all the way up to my belly button, and my knee got a gash and it started gushing blood. It was a really, really sexy moment for me."

Indeed! For more on Caldwell's teenaged misadventures — plus equally harrowing tales from Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta and Olympic medalist Evan Lysacek — don't miss the next episode of "When I Was 17," airing Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV. There will be blood!

'Get Him To The Greek' Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

Hit the road with Russell Brand and Jonah Hill in the 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' follow-up.
By Josh Wigler

In "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," Infant Sorrow frontman Aldous Snow had it all figured out: hit singles in the form of "Inside of You" and "We've Got to Do Something," fans from all across the globe and several years of sobriety. But to quote another great musician, the times are a-changing when an off-the-wagon Snow returns in "Get Him to the Greek," the "Sarah Marshall" spin-off arriving in theaters Friday (June 4).

Russell Brand and Jonah Hill take center stage in the comedy about a disgraced rock singer and a budding talent agent looking to stage a glorious comeback. While that's the film's basic premise, the story behind the story has several layers. As the comedy arrives in theaters, MTV News is bringing you a cheat sheet to catch you up on everything you need to go "Greek."

Forgetting 'Sarah' and Going 'Greek'
One of the reasons moviegoers latched onto "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was the onscreen chemistry of Brand as rock god Aldous Snow and Hill as an aspiring musician and Snow-obsessed fan. Apparently, the chemistry didn't go unnoticed by director Nicholas Stoller and producer Judd Apatow, as they announced a new comedy project re-teaming Brand and Hill just one week following the release of "Sarah Marshall."

That project would eventually become "Get Him to the Greek," and while Brand was set to reprise his role as Aldous Snow, Hill took on an entirely new character: Aaron Green, a record-company intern who volunteers to escort the down-and-out Snow from his London home to the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles for a comeback concert. Madness, debauchery and hilarity inevitably ensue.

The Third Greek
Although Hill and Brand present quite the dynamic duo on their own, a third player entered the "Greek" arena in the form of Sean "Diddy" Combs as record-company executive Sergio Roma.

"We did a table read, and I thought to myself, 'I wonder how funny [Diddy's] going to be and how much help he's going to need,' " Apatow told MTV News in 2009. "And I found out the answer was none. He needs no help. He was riotously funny. As a man with one skill, I was annoyed that he was also funny. You shouldn't be allowed to be good at so many things."

Dubbed by Hill as "the McLovin of 'Get Him to the Greek,' " Combs endeared himself to his co-stars with a trip to Las Vegas that Brand described as "a hedonism boot camp."

"[Hanging with Diddy in Vegas] means you don't get enough sleep, and when you go to a restaurant, it's noisy, and when you go to a club, it's noisy, and when you're in an elevator, it's noisy," Brand said of the trip. "Hanging with Diddy is noisy."

Sex, Drugs and Rocky Terrain
Having survived the Vegas outing with few scratches to speak of, the "Greek" stars barreled on with production, but neither Brand nor Hill were without their share of hardships during the shoot. Brand, a recovering alcoholic and former drug addict, was faced with revisiting his old demons alongside his character.

"I don't take relapsing very seriously as a possibility in terms of thinking of it as 'Must not relapse. Must not relapse.' But it reminded me, 'Don't do drugs,' " Brand said of his experience playing the drug-addled Snow. "It's not worth it. Not for me."

For Hill, his difficulties were a bit more transparent ... one could even say, well, nude. The comedian was able to overcome the awkwardness of filming his in-the-buff scenes by focusing on the bright side: "I had all sorts of thoughts about waxing or what I should do to prepare. And then eventually, I just, I said, 'I'm just gonna be free and be me and just sort of, you know, let that happen.' "

Nudity and old ghosts aside, the point of "Get Him to the Greek" isn't to dwell on the negative; it's about laughing and having a good time at the movies. On that front, Hill feels that the mission was accomplished.

"This movie, to me, is just a pure weekend night movie," he said. "You go and have a great time, and it's so full of energy. It's a road movie, and it's hysterical, in my opinion."

'Splice': Gene Genie, By Kurt Loder

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 03:52 AM PDT

Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody on the post-human beat.

'Splice'
Photo: Warner Bros.

"Splice" is a surprising sci-fi movie that raises more unsettling issues than you'd expect — it keeps raising new ones past the point where you'd think the filmmakers would have run out of them.

The picture seems like a simple Frankenstein tale at the outset. Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) are two hotshot genetic engineers (and lovers) who've earned their reputations by splicing animal DNA to create strange new creatures to produce new proteins that can be patented for medical use. But when they approach the pharmaceutical company that funds their work with a proposal to add human DNA into the mix, the company, fearing public outrage, forbids them to do it. So Clive and Elsa decide to secretly create a human-animal hybrid on their own.

The Frankenstein template is frankly acknowledged by director and co-writer Vincenzo Natali ("Cube"). The main characters' names are a cute nod to Colin Clive and Elsa Lanchester, the stars of the 1935 "Bride of Frankenstein," and at one point in this film someone actually shouts — like Colin Clive in the previous 1931 "Frankenstein" — "It's alive!" But Natali follows the traditional nightmare premise — mere humans playing God in a quest to create life — into morally complex areas, from the deluded hubris of such a quest to issues of nature versus nurture, the sanctity of life versus the seemingly justifiable need to terminate it, and — most creepily — interspecies sexual attraction.

Things start going wrong early on, when Clive and Elsa unveil their latest animal creations — two big slug-like entities they've nicknamed Fred and Ginger — at a meeting of the pharmaceutical company's shareholders. Unbeknown to their creators, these grotesque creatures have suddenly mutated, and soon, the shareholders are splattered with blood (or whatever) and possibly reconsidering their investment strategies.

Back in the couple's lab, Elsa keeps pushing for the human-animal DNA mix — if they don't do it, she says, citing the default scientific rationale, somebody else will (and will reap all the glory ... and the patents). Clive is reluctant, but he finally agrees to press the fusion button, and soon there's a bizarre new resident in their outsize laboratory incubator — a being that starts evolving toward maturity at breathtaking speed.

Here, the movie's sophisticated visual effects — a blend of traditional prosthetics and digital manipulation, imaginatively engaging without waving their price tags at us — begin to unfold. The new half-human creature is female, which is reassuringly familiar; but it also has birdlike, backward-bent legs; wide, weird eyes; and a long tail with (as we soon see) a retractable spike at its tip. Elsa, who has previously rejected Clive's suggestions that they consider having children, feels her maternal feelings emerging, and is soon dressing the hyperactive homunculus in girlish frocks and calling it "sweetie." Not for long, though.

This early version of Dren, as Elsa names her, is played by little Abigail Chu. Then, as Dren swiftly matures into a teenager (giving a whole new meaning to "teen alienation"), a little-known and highly acrobatic French actress, Delphine Chanéac, steps into the role; and as good as the other actors in the film are (especially Polley, who once again demonstrates an eloquent ability to convey complex thought without words), it's Chanéac, with her otherworldly face morphing between vulnerability and menace, who becomes the star of the show.

It would be wrong to give away any more of this beguiling movie, which startles us at just about every turn. There are clear echoes of "Alien" and early David Lynch imagery; and cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata (who also shot "Micmacs" and "La Vie en Rose") gives some of the scenes a sleek chill that recalls the David Cronenberg of "Videodrome" and "Crash." But while the picture is itself a fusion, its recognizable influences are fashioned into something new. It leaves us to puzzle out our own moral conclusions, but its central message is encapsulated in a nervous exchange between Elsa and Clive, as their experiment begins spinning out of control. Trying to fathom Dren's increasingly alarming behavior, Elsa says, "None of her animal components have predatory characteristics." To which Clive replies, "Well, there's the human element."

'Killers' Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 04:52 AM PDT

Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl play a married couple thrust into a high-stakes spy adventure.
By Josh Wigler

Ashton Kutcher in "Killers"

Stop us when you've heard this one: Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Boy quits his job in order to marry girl. Job doesn't quit boy, sends a wide array of hit men and assassins after boy, and effectively forces boy to confess to girl that he's a former super-spy with a bounty on his head.

Doesn't sound familiar? That's the plot for "Killers," director Robert Luketic's new action/comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. The movie arrives in theaters Friday (June 4) with an equal mixture of gunshots, laughs and kisses guaranteed to please romantic-comedy lovers of all shapes and sizes. In order to prepare you for your first viewing of the film, MTV News is here to offer up another edition of our big-screen cheat sheet to fill you in on everything you need to know about "Killers."

Love Hurts
Like all good love stories, "Killers" focuses on two people coming from two completely different worlds ... except in this case, the differences between lovers Jennifer Kornfeldt (Heigl) and Spencer Aimes (Kutcher) aren't made clear until after the two get married. Aimes is a top-secret agent working for the CIA, but after falling in love with Jennifer as she's vacationing with her parents (played by Tom Selleck and Catherine O'Hara), he decides to abandon the spy game altogether and pursue a quiet married life.

It's just too bad that the spy game won't quite Aimes. Three years after leaving the CIA, many of Spencer's old enemies come out of the woodwork on his 30th birthday to assassinate the former agent thanks to a choice reward placed on his head. As a result, Aimes is forced to reveal his secret life to Jennifer as they get sucked back into the deadly (but hilarious) world of espionage.

Getting In on the Action
Believe it or not, "Killers" is the first time in Kutcher's career that the actor has gotten to wield a gun on the big screen. He told MTV News: "I've been in the business for 11 years now. I've probably done, I can't even guess, probably 500 hours of film and television, and I finally got a gun. It's the boys' dream."

Kutcher, who appears shirtless in the movie, much to his chagrin, explained that while he happily engaged in gunplay for the film, his co-star and onscreen wife wasn't as game. "Katherine Heigl is a comedy star of enormous proportion, a dramatic star of enormous proportion, not an action star," he laughed. "She specifically is not an action star, and it's a good thing my character had the heavy lifting with the action in the movie. She didn't like it. She hates it. She cannot stand it. She doesn't like to run."

But that wasn't always the case: In addition to a plethora of comedic and dramatic performances, Heigl has appeared in action films and thrillers such as "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory" and "Valentine." Had she stuck around for the "Grey's Anatomy" finale, she would have seen some action there too!

You Can Handle the Truth
One thing Heigl definitely has in common with her "Killers" character is the belief that honesty is an essential ingredient for a successful marriage. While the fictional marriage between Kutcher and Heigl is sorely lacking this openness, Heigl's real-life partnership with singer/songwriter Josh Kelley is not ... on her part, at least.

"He's nice and doesn't tell me I have my father's feet or whatever mean things are the honest truth, but I tend to be more honest with him," she laughed. "If I don't like a haircut, I just tell him. If I don't like the outfit he's wearing, I'm like, 'What are you wearing?' Maybe I should learn to keep more secrets!"

Indeed, Heigl admitted to MTV that she occasionally has difficulty keeping her opinions to herself, leading to public disputes with some of her colleagues and contemporaries. But in the case of "Killers," Heigl never rubbed her co-stars the wrong way. Quite the opposite, in fact, as Kutcher revealed: "She's an unbelievable actress, a dream. She has this childlike quality that is so valuable when you're working in a profession where you have to use your imagination."

Justin Bieber Fans Wait Overnight For 'Today' Show Performance

'For Justin Bieber, I'll do anything,' one fan tells MTV News.
By Nuzhat Naoreen

On Thursday afternoon (June 3), Penny Noelle, 10, started standing in line for Justin Bieber's "Today" show concert on Friday morning. She arrived in New York from Springfield, Massachusetts, equipped with her bag, posters, money, a chair to sleep on overnight and a very patient mom.

"For Justin Bieber, I'll do anything," Penny told MTV News.

She's not the only one. By Thursday evening, hundreds of fans, including some as young as 5, had already lined the streets outside Rockefeller Plaza in anticipation of the free Bieber concert.

Megan Hazelwood, 17, who said she attended one of Justin's first concerts, convinced her parents to travel 17 hours from Kansas City, Kansas, so she could see him once again.

"I've never driven 17 hours for anyone but Justin Bieber," she said. By the time Megan arrived Thursday evening, though, the line already spanned a couple of blocks.

Most fans passed the time Thursday night making posters for the concert, singing Bieber's songs and playing games. Many families also got nearby hotels and took shifts standing in line throughout the night.

Joe Pezzino, who drove his daughter seven hours from Buffalo, New York, waited in line alone as his daughter joined some family friends at a nearby hotel for dinner.

"I'm keeping busy," he said. "I'm really caught up on my BlackBerry. I have no e-mails."

Which artist would you wait overnight to see? Tell us in the comments!

'Jersey Shore' Star Snooki Shops For Her MTV Movie Awards Dress

Snooki has been tapped to be MTV News' guest correspondent for the Movie Awards on Sunday, which means the "Jersey Shore" star needs to find the right dress to dazzle on the red carpet next to some of Hollywood's biggest stars. The Princess of Pouf invited our cameras along to document her shopping spree.

Snooki first tried on a fuschia minidress complete with sequined fringe that she lovingly referred to as " 'Avatar' hairs." "I really love this dress," she said, explaining that the sequins make it "very Snooki" — but there were plenty of frocks to go.

Next up was a little black dress complete with sequins — you can't go wrong with an LBD, right ladies? Well, Snooki disagreed. "The sequins are really big; I look like a walking disco ball," she explained. "Other than that, I like the black. I feel like I look somewhat elegant. It could be a guidette dress ... as long as I have that attitude as a guidette, then I can rock it."

The next gold spandex dress wasn't up to guidette standards. "To be honest with you, I feel like a stripper," she shared. "I try and stay away from gold because guidettes don't wear gold — they wear silver."

The fourth pick, a little white dress embellished with multicolored sparkles, felt like it could be just right. "Obviously gorgeous!" she raved. "It's so guidette. You got the bling everywhere. The only thing I don't like is the boob — it should be a V."

NEW YORK"VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South" might have represented Atlanta, Texas, Miami, New Orleans and everywhere in between, but all points were a unified front for the event Thursday night (June 3) at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

"I always say the East Coast is one piece of bread, and the West Coast is another piece of bread," honoree J. Prince of Rap-a-Lot Records said during the tribute. "And the South is the meat. I describe it that way, 'cause everyone has roots in the South."

Drake, Bun B, the Game, Juvenile and the Geto Boys' Willie D all performed as a part of the Rap-a-Lot set. Drake paid homage to the late Pimp C as he and Bun joined forces for "Get Throwed."

"Office" actor Craig Robinson replaced Tracy Morgan as host of the festivities, and with the help of Lil Jon and Paul Wall, he received a Southern makeover. "You got to put your money where your mouth is," Jon told the host, as Paul Wall "DDS" presented Robinson with grillz.

Jon and Wall scored plenty of laughs throughout the night via a series of sketches. In one, the pair attempted to dole out directions to a bystander, but the combination of slang ("slabs" and "shawty") left him confused.

Paul Wall also put in time onstage as he, Chamillionaire and Slim Thug were part of the Texas tribute. The Lone Star State, Miami and Atlanta were all recognized, in addition to official honorees Master P, Timbaland, Jermaine Dupri, J. Prince, Luther Campbell and 2 Live Crew, and Outkast producers Organized Noize.

JD's set rivaled the Rap-a-Lot tribute for the highlight of the evening. The producer brought out Dem Franchize Boyz, Diddy and Bow Wow, who brought fans to their feet when he rose from the audience with his clothes on backward, in honor of Kris Kross. " 'Cause inside-out is wiggity wiggity wack," he rapped.

Uncle Luke suffered through technical difficulties during the 2 Live Crew set. Mannie Fresh helped keep things moving throughout the delay, shouting out Tony Draper and his pioneering company Suave House Records.

Master P's tribute went through without a hitch. His son Romeo, brother Silkk the Shocker, Trina and Mystikal hit the stage to pay homage. Mystikal was a frenetic force of energy, as he and Romeo performed P's breakout hit "Make 'Em Say Ugh."

Gucci Mane, T.I., Bone Crusher, DJ Drama and the Ying Yang twins honored Atlanta, while Trick Daddy, Pitbull, Flo Rida, and Trina repped for Miami.

Rick Ross and DJ Khaled proved to be showstoppers as the pair put on mink coats for the Boss' latest single, "Super High."

Producer Timbaland and Organized Noize brought out a bevy of guest to celebrate their discography, from Fabolous and Keri Hilson to Nelly and Asher Roth.

"VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South" airs Monday at 9 p.m. on VH1.

'Jersey Shore' Stars Invade Enrique Iglesias' 'I Like It' Video

Posted: 03 Jun 2010 06:43 AM PDT

'When everybody sees this music video, they're pretty much gonna realize that we're a bunch of nut jobs,' Snooki tells MTV News.
By MTV News staff

By now, we've seen that the "Jersey Shore" kids know their way around the gym, the laundromat and the tanning salon. But since they've become reality-show superstars in their own right, they've been picking up a few new skills.

Case in point: their starring roles in Enrique Iglesias' music video for "I Like It," the club-ready single from the Jersey Shore Soundtrack. Snooki, the Situation and their pals are featured in the video — crashing a concert, obviously — and MTV News was there to catch all the behind-the-scenes details.

"When everybody sees this music video, they're pretty much gonna realize that we're a bunch of nut jobs, just trying to crash Enrique's concert," Snooki told us.

No offense, Snooki, but didn't we already know that? Catch any "Shore" episode and you'll see all manner of brawls, shameless hookups and wicked pranks. All that behavior is on full display in the video. And we're about to get a fresh dose of Snooki and the Situation's wild world when the second season of the show debuts July 29. Before then, MTV will debut 10 minutes of the first new episode during the MTV Movie Awards pre-show this Sunday.

Next month, on July 20, Jersey Shore Soundtrack hits shelves. A collection of songs inspired by the tanned-and-terrific hit series, the album features tracks from Lil Jon, LMFAO, Taio Cruz and Akon, as well as Iglesias single featuring Pitbull.

Iglesias had a blast shooting the video with Snooki and her friends, and he can't wait until fans get a chance to check out the video. They will, of course, when it premieres on Sunday night at the Movie Awards. "This song is good — actually, not good, it's f---ing good," Iglesias said. "Let's go out there and have some fun. It's the kids from the 'Jersey Shore.' What else would you ask for?"

The second song from Eminem's forthcoming Recovery album, "Won't Back Down," was released online Thursday (June 3) via RapRadar.com.

The track, produced by DJ Khalil, features Pink and finds Eminem firing off a slew of lyrical punch lines.

"Listen, garden tool/ Don't make me introduce you to my power tool," the Detroit native raps over Khalil's droning organ chords. "You know the f---ing drill/ How you douche bags feel?/ Knowing you're disposable, Summer's Eve, Massengill."

Eminem spoke about his Recovery collaborations while in France on a promotional tour. Pink, Rihanna and Lil Wayne are all featured, a departure from Em's previous projects, where the guest lists were usually limited to Shady or Aftermath artists. For "Won't Back Down," he explained, Pink was added to the track after it was completed.

"When I did the song that I did with Pink, I laid my parts first and kind of heard her on the record and felt that she would smash this record," Em said.

Pink certainly delivers a fiery warning on the chorus. "You can sound the alarm, you can call out your guards/ You can fence in your yard, you can pull all the cards/ But I won't back down, I won't back down," she sings.

The song follows "Not Afraid," the first offering from Recovery, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

'New Moon' Vs. 'Avatar': Chris Weitz Sizes Up MTV Movie Awards Rivalry

'Kristen is my girl and I think she should win,' 'New Moon' director says of Stewart facing off against Zoe Saldana for Best Female Performance.

Perhaps the biggest rivalry at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday is the head-to-head contest of "Avatar" versus "New Moon." The fierce Na'vi of Pandora and the supernatural creatures of Forks, Washington, are on a collision course in categories such as Best Movie and Best Kiss, but it's the Best Female Performance award that has many fans biting their nails.

While "Twilight" lovers are fiercely loyal to Kristen Stewart, whose portrayal of lovelorn Bella Swan in "New Moon" won her the nod, there's no denying that Zoe Saldana delivered a powerful performance as warrior woman Neytiri in "Avatar." For moviegoers who enjoy both franchises, it's a nearly impossible choice, but for those involved in the franchises, such as "New Moon" director Chris Weitz, the decision is considerably easier.

"Kristen is my girl and I think that she should win," Weitz told MTV News when asked to weigh in. "She's a fantastic actress."

That's not to say that Weitz isn't interested in seeing the "New Moon" star throw down with Saldana for the award, as he suggested: "Maybe they should resolve it with a mixed martial arts thing. Why not?"

Why not? Well, here's one obvious reason: Not only did Saldana get in the thick of battle as the female lead in "Avatar," she also turned in badass performances in 2009's "Star Trek" and this year's "The Losers." On top of that, she's attached to star in "Colombiana," a mercenary thriller from "The Transporter" and "Taken" mastermind Luc Besson. When it comes to kicking butt and taking names — Saldana is certainly not one to be trifled with.

But Weitz wasn't worried. "Kristen's scrappy," the director revealed. "She's wiry, she's scrappy."

What's your take, readers? Is Stewart scrappy enough to take on Saldana, with her impressive action-hero resume? Tell us in the comments!

This weekend is shaping up to be a really good one for comedian Russell Brand. On Friday, the comedy "Get Him to the Greek," in which he co-stars with Jonah Hill and Diddy, opens in theaters. Then on Sunday, the much-anticipated 2010 MTV Movie Awards air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, where Brand will be among the presenters. As if that weren't enough, he'll have prime seats to fiancée Katy Perry's awards-show performance.

MTV News caught up with Brand while he was promoting "Greek," and he was, of course, excited about the upcoming events.

"We're both going to be at the Movie Awards. Katy's going to be performing her new, brilliant single, 'California Gurls,' " Brand said. "[It's going to be] me standing awkwardly with Jonah Hill and Puff Daddy."

Brand's co-star Diddy said he also was looking forward to the back-to-back events. "It's a big time," Diddy told MTV News. "It's the Movie Awards and it'll be the weekend the movie's out."

For Hill, however, attending the Movie Awards is his chance to become a part of the show's history, which has a long tradition of featuring many of the funnymen he grew up admiring.

"When I was younger, if like, Sandler or Stiller were presenting an award, I'd wait the whole night for it," he remembered. "Not that anyone cares that I am [presenting], but it's nice to be included in that."

MTV Movie Awards Set Designer Gives A Sneak Peek Of The Big Show!

'We've got gold hubcaps spinning, crazy popcorn, butter — it's a mess,' Anton Goss says.

While the MTV Movie Awards show itself is always packed with surprises from attendees, presenters and winners, one of the unsung, slightly under-the-radar heroes is the show's flashy, highly technologically enhanced stage design. Will there be showers of golden popcorn? Hidden trapdoors or elevators? Performers flying from the ceiling? MTV's Jim Cantiello recently caught up with production designer Anton Goss to get a sneak peek at his fancy set designing computer, where he showed off a few of the "looks" that will gild the Gibson Ampitheather in classic MTV gold on Sunday.

"We have three main looks," Goss offered. "We have a 'TV look,' we have a 'film-reel look' [and] I call this one my 'pimp my ride look,' " he described while loading the different graphics and stage layouts on his laptop. "We've got gold hubcaps spinning, crazy popcorn, butter — it's a mess."

"The 'secret look' is the one we're most proud of," Goss said with a conspiratorial grin, and then offered only a vague description: "We had a lot of fun with that. ... It's shocking."

This is Goss' second turn as production designer for the MTV Movie Awards stages. He's a seasoned pro where TV set decor is concerned, having designed episodes of "The Bachelor," "Last Comic Standing," the 2010 People's Choice Awards and the Spike Video Game Awards; he's also made the rounds in the daytime talk-show circuit, having designed for "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the latter for which he won a Daytime Emmy in 2009.

Drake, Chamillionaire, The Game Say Album Leaks Can Be A Good Thing

Paul Wall also agrees that artists can't blame poor sales on early bootlegs.

Drake has been anointed by many fans and journalists alike as hip-hop's new golden master of ceremonies, but he is not exempt from the same problem plaguing most musicians these days. Bootleggers leaked his much-anticipated Thank Me Later LP earlier this week, but the Toronto MC took it stride, tweeting, "I gave away free music for years so we're good over here."

Drake told TheLifeFiles.com that the word of mouth won't hurt him. "It's a honor to make this dream come true for Wayne, and I'm excited to start my journey," he said of the new album, which he previewed for the press on Wednesday. "I always say, if I would have put out an album that was poor quality, I think the leaks would have hurt me. Because a lot of the feedback has been great, it can only help."

The Game spoke about the inevitability of leaking when he stopped by the MTV Newsroom on Wednesday. "Every album is getting leaked from now until the duration of hip-hop," he said. "It's just once it hits the plant, or once a radio station gets their promo, somebody is gonna leak the album. You can look forward to it being leaked a week early or whatever. It's gonna get leaked."

Chamillionaire and Paul Wall weighed in as well. And though they agreed that an MC's ire is definitely raised when his album leaks early, for the most part, it doesn't hurt too much.

"You can't not be bothered by that," Cham told MTV News. "Because you wonder, is that a sale that I could have made? You hate to see all your hard work that you went to the studio doing. We done seen bootleggers riding 28s. We like, 'Man, they eating good off of us.' But we understand; you just gotta give them that music. If it's dope, they gonna come buy it. I don't think Drake or anybody else should worry if it's dope. If people want it, it's gonna create enough hype. 50 Cent, even Lil Wayne, everybody suffered from leaks and some people benefited from it."

Wall agreed that leaks can do as much good as they do harm. "If the album don't sell good — that's just not Drake, this is every artist — then [they say], 'Oh, it got bootlegged.' If it does great, then they'll be like, 'Oh, it does great 'cause the bootleg got out, and it let everybody know this was legit.' It goes both ways."

Game suggested that any artists who complain that leaks hurt their sales should stop making excuses and make better music.

"Lil Wayne showed me that," Game said. "His album leaked four weeks before Tha Carter III was supposed to come out, and he sold a million the first week. That's just an excuse. ... It's no longer acceptable because people are still selling."

Do you think leaks can help as much as they hurt? Talk about it in the comments.

'American Idol' Season Nine: Neither Lee, Crystal Nor Casey Thought They'd Win

DeWyze, Bowersox and James never thought of themselves as front-runners.
By James Montgomery

Modesty is an underrated trait — unless you're a finalist on "American Idol," a show that exists solely to discover music's next great megastar. The whole point of appearing on it is to win, thereby securing a recording contract and the opportunity to become unbelievably famous and wealthy. Modesty, it would seem, has no place on the "Idol" stage. Except for the just-completed ninth season, that is.

Because, wow, was this season's top three modest. At no point during the show's run did any of the contestants seem to think that they could actually win, and despite the best efforts of journalists — who labeled the final three as "the front-runner" (Crystal Bowersox), "the underdog" (eventual champ Lee DeWyze) and "the dark horse" (Casey James) — that never really changed. In fact, based on conversations we've had with all three finalists, none of them ever remotely considered themselves the favorite. Not in the slightest.

"I never considered myself to be the front-runner, simply because 'American Idol' is a show where literally anything can happen," Bowersox said. "A lot of people that went home we never expected them to go home. ... My goal was just to do my best each week and see what happened."

"Not only did I not think that I was the front-runner; I knew that I was not," James laughed. "A lot of people got into reading the things on the Internet, and I just stayed away from all that. So I don't know if there was anything that said that, but I never feel that way, and I don't think it was really the case, either."

"I mean, people were saying stuff like that to me, I'm not going to lie about that, they'd be like, 'Oh, you're going to win,' and I'd be like, 'Oh, well, there's still seven weeks to go,' " DeWyze added. "I never thought I had it in the bag or anything, but I think you have to have a sense of confidence in yourself, especially when you're in a competition ... [but] being a front-runner or an underdog, or whatever people said, it was hard not to listen to that stuff. You have to ignore it, because it is not a good thing."

That modesty holds true even now that the show is over. Sure, DeWyze is happy he won, but Bowersox and James seem positively giddy that they didn't.

"I'm cool with number two," the dreadlocked dynamo smiled. "I gave it my best shot."

"I couldn't have asked for anything better," the Texas heartthrob added. "I mean, honestly, for me, I'm not going to say anything other than I feel like I'm exactly where I should be."
