Main Pick Preview: Young Buck's Back on My Buck Sh--

Nuh-uh — you can't get the whole thing this week. We're gonna give you a quick taste of the product, and we'll see you with the main pick in its entirety next week. We got a nice sneak peek, though.

Young Buck just dropped his mixtape Back on My Buck Sh--, and his stance on his affiliation with the G-Unit (at least in this interview) has softened a bit. "Much respect to them dudes, but I'm doing my thing right now," Buck said.

Like Lloyd Banks, Buck said he's officially off Interscope but still signed to the G-Unit.

"To be honest, I'm trying to get away from that situation," he said in Atlanta. "No sooner than I get away from that situation, you'll be hearing from Young Buck."

By that, he means a full album. He has secured distribution through Sony Red for his Cashville Records. C-Bo and the Outlaws are still down with him.

If there's one thing Buck has learned from having his differences with 50 Cent and his pitfalls in the music industry, it's that the game is "90 percent business and 10 percent talent." Sticking with the business theme, he said fans should check for his track "Letter to the Labels."

"That's letting the labels know I'mma do it with or without you," he said. "Cashville Records, we got this."

Buck is shooting a movie called "No Warning" with Omar Gooding.

The Streets Is Talking: News & Notes From The Underground

Lil Wayne got a huge laugh out of watching Forest Whitaker perform "Di-- in a Box" during last week's MTV Movie Awards. That's definitely a moment he didn't expect form his "Hurricane Season" co-star.

"I just finished shooting a movie with Forest too. He's a very serious guy," Wayne said after the show in Universal City, California. "I just spoke to him before he went out there, and he was like, 'You did good in the movie.' Then he goes out there and sings that. I'm like, 'Wow.' "

"Hurricane Season" comes out later this year. The movie centers on a high school basketball team in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. "Everything was wonderful, and just doing it in New Orleans, it being a true story, and just contributing in any kind of way, it was great for me."

Wayne says he doesn't have any other roles lined up yet, but his album The Rebirth is dropping August 18. If Wayne had to choose his dream movie role, it's easy for Weezy: He'd be the Kid.

"Prince in Purple Rain," he answered when asked what role he would want. "Watch out now."

MTV News is celebrating Miami Week this week. You'll get to see the top MCs right now, the legends, the producers, the DJs — all the upcoming talent. We're loaded. Although Wayne reps N.O. at heart, he loves Miami. Not only does he have a crib out there, Weezy makes songs out in M.I.A. Take a look at the footage we have of Mr. F. Baby during the Tha Carter III recording sessions.

Miami Mind State

Shout-out to all the natives who made Miami theme records and repped their city hard. Here, we're calling out some records that gave props to M.I.A. There's a million of them — these are just a few we love.

Jay-Z's "Reservoir Dogs" (featuring the LOX, Beanie Sigel and Sauce Money)
Lyric: "Gangsters don't die, they get chubby and move to Miami"
Conclusion: Jadakiss' line is a classic. Even the toughest dude can find a place to chill down bottom. Just be careful not to consume too much of that good food at Phillippe or Mango's on the strip.

Rick Ross' "Rich Off Cocaine"
Lyric: "Miami nights/ I'm living the life"
Conclusion: Avery says it all. Whether you're ballin' on a budget or sitting on Tony Montana paper, you can literally have the time of your life on just a regular night in Miami.

Nas' "Blaze a 50"
Lyric: "Blaze a 50/ Sit back in the drop-top Azure Bentley/ Of course with me, this chick who'd make Bobby divorce Whitney/ Brazilian candy from Miami/ Masseuse, wedding ring on, lovin' Celine Dion"
Conclusion: Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston's divorce kinda takes the sting from Nas' rhyme, but back in the '90s, that line was the truth! In short, there were and always will be bad chicks in M.I.A.

Travis Barker Talks 'Heavy' New Blink-182 Songs

'I wanna work on it while we're on tour,' Barker says of the long-awaited new record.

Travis Barker has never been one to sit still. And when it came to his role in the reunited Blink-182, that wasn't necessarily a good thing.

"We all got together and met up and, almost immediately, we got inspired. So it went from just playing around together to being like, 'Let's lay down demos! And tour!' " Barker told MTV News. "And, to be honest, it was crazy. I was still recovering from all my surgeries [from his September plane crash], and was way out of it when we first got back in there. I was in no shape to be in the studio, and we were kinda held back a bit. We decided to just get used to playing with each other again."

So the trio scaled back their expectations — sure, there'd still be a record, but let's just get this massive, laser-packed arena tour out of the way first. And once they got that sorted, it all started clicking again.

"We just started practicing for the tour, going through the old sh--, playing the greatest hits — only we'd start experimenting on them a bit, working on different versions," Barker said. "So, it ended up that some of the old songs have new flavor to them, and then we also got around to making four demos, including one song that's pretty much complete."

That new song is called "Up All Night," and Barker said Blink fans can expect to hear it out on the road this summer. He calls it both "a logical step" from where the band left off [their darker, more mature self-titled 2003 album] and a hint as to where they might be headed in the future.

"When we do go in [to make the new album], it's gonna be like that. You can't help but have everything on the table ... all the stuff we've done — like +44 and Angels & Airwaves — since we last played and recorded, it will influence the new stuff," he explained. "In the case of 'Up All Night,' it feels like it could've been on the last record, or right where the last one left off. It's kind of heavy, if you mixed Box Car Racer and Blink. It all makes sense. The pieces are all together."

So just when can Blink fans expect to hear that new album? Well, there are no firm dates just yet, though Barker did say the band plan on entering the studio after they wrap their tour. Oh, and they'll also be working on it while they're on the tour too, because, once again, Barker refuses to sit still.

"I'll have the studio out on tour with me, and I think Mark will too. I wanna work on it while we're on tour," Barker said. "But that's just me. I'm taking it day-by-day. Loving life. Working."

"Hills" star Heidi Montag was rushed to a Costa Rican hospital Saturday after returning to the filming of "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!" along with her husband, Spencer Pratt, a rep for the couple confirmed to MTV News on Sunday (June 7).

UsMagazine.com originally reported the news, saying that Spencer had traveled to the hospital alongside his wife. A rep for the couple told MTV News that the Us reports were accurate and that he had "no further details at this time."

TMZ, citing unidentified people on the show's set, reported that Heidi was rushed to the hospital after "convulsively throwing up" and was "diagnosed with a gastric ulcer."

The Web site reported that Montag fell ill after she and Spencer had been "held ... in a dark room for a day and a night with only water, rice and beans. It was designed as punishment because they left the show." The couple briefly left the show last week but soon returned, claiming "the devil" had made them leave. TMZ reported that Montag has left the hospital and is receiving medication for her ailment.

Spencer's sister, Stephanie Pratt, took to Twitter to comment on the hospitalization, saying, "I'm really saddened to hear that NBC felt it was OK to punish Speidi so harshly -- and torture them as if they were criminals -- that Heidi was rushed to the hospital and has an IV in her arm after being locked in a dark room for 3 days w no food or water. [Please] pray she will be OK.

"Her family is flying out to see her in the hospital," Stephanie continued. "I know they pulled some sh---y antics -- but really NBC?? Too far." On Friday, NBC's executive vice president of alternative programming Paul Telegdy had called Speidi "everything that's wrong with America," adding that in order for the pair to stay on the show they'd be pushed to the limit.

"They are back, and this time they are contrite. ... Yeah, right. What they don't realize is that they are now going to be examined, and their value system utterly deconstructed," he said. "These people really are going to bare their souls."

Miss any of "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!" this week? Then tune in to MTV Sunday at 12 p.m. ET for a marathon of the week's episodes, followed by "The Hills Presents: Speidi's Wedding Unveiled."

Jordin Sparks is definitely growing up, and it shows in the new video for her single," Battlefield." The song, off of her sophomore album due in July, made its debut on "American Idol" in May and now the singer — who had previous success with songs like "One Step at a Time" and her duet with Chris Brown, "No Air" — is out to prove to everyone that she can be sassy and glamorous.

In the video, Sparks sports a few different looks — in a car in a black dress, lying out in a field in a white dress — but it's when she steps out of the car that we see her turn up the attitude in the aforementioned black gown. The song, penned by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, is about a tumultuous relationship where neither side wants to compromise.

She sings, "I never meant to start a war/ You know, I never wanna hurt you/ Don't even know what we're fighting for/ Why does love always feel like a battlefield, a battlefield, a battlefield."

There are several times in the video — especially by the time night falls and the song's bridge comes in — where Sparks, flanked by fireworks and smoke, warns her love interest to get his armor. She also gives a few convincing "don't mess with me" looks. And, it seems like she's using the video as a way to step out of her shell a little — perhaps she's out to show the world that she isn't all that sweet and can "start a war" in a relationship with the best of them.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz 'So Excited' About 'Melrose Place'

'It's got good drama,' singer/actress says of the show.

Come this fall, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz will make her way back to the small screen for a new full-time gig on the CW's new "Melrose Place." The series, based on the drama-filled original from the '90s, which starred Heather Locklear, Marcia Cross and Kelly Rutherford of "Gossip Girl," promises to be just as scandalous as the original.

"I play the girl that's straight-off-the-bus. It's fun," Simpson-Wentz told MTV News about her character, the seemingly naive Violet Foster. "It's exciting because we don't get to see the next episode. We don't get to read the scripts until we're actually about to shoot it, and everyone is dying to know what's going to happen to their characters, so it's fun. It'll be exciting to play that arc. ... It's got good drama."

And with rumors that a dead body is already involved in the plotline of the first episode, it's a far cry from Simpson-Wentz's other TV series. "For me, I started off doing '7th Heaven.' I went on to do my music career so now I'm really, really thrilled [to be back on TV]. This is what I wanted to do and this is such a great show. I'm so excited about the show."

Recently, Simpson-Wentz made a cameo on "CSI" alongside her hubby, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. But don't expect to see him on the show anytime soon. "He hangs with me, but we don't read lines," she laughed. "I'm sure he would if I asked him to. I don't know about [him making a cameo]!"
