The fellas know we're repping for them, and the ladies love us like a Tory Burch sample sale — Mixtape Daily is still here, still strong. Today is bugged out, because the focus is on a few people who aren't exactly synonymous with the mixtape game. First, R. Kelly's been adding his legendary vocal ability to unofficial remixes of records such as Drake's "Best I Ever Had" and Jeremih's "Birthday Sex." Well, he has a whole tape of those kinds of records and some original joints as well.

Then, the homie JD obviously has been putting out his own mixtapes for years, but he's coming at a new angle this time. Jermaine Dupri wrangled his guys Tyrone Davis (JD's personal assistant), Usher, Johnta Austin, Bryan-Michael Cox, Nelly and Trey Songz to comprise a clique of distinguished gentlemen called Ocean's 7. Besides letting Bow Wow officially join the crew if he adheres to the crew's dress code of suits and such, JD has grand schemes to make the project a whole movement, with a film and official album.

We can't be mad at that. You can catch JD's exploits at his new Web site Global14.com, and as always, keep checking for us at MTVNews.com Monday through Friday and our brand-new URL: Mixtape.MTV.com.

Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables

Mixtape: The Demo Tape

Headliner: R. Kelly

Co-Starring: DJ Drama and DJ Skee

Key Cameos: "Super Man High" (featuring OJ Da Juiceman), "Playaz in Da Club" (featuring Plies)

Essential Info: R. Kelly has pretty much been on the low since his troubles with the law ended last year. That 12 Play: Fourth Quarter album that was slated for the end of 2008 never surfaced, and besides showing up at the Velvet Room with Jazze Pha and DJ Infamous a few months ago, we haven't really heard a peep from the Pied Piper.

Well, we hear Kells is almost done with the new album but decided not to just jump out there with a single and video. He wanted to reintroduce himself with his first-ever mixtape.

"He's never done a mixtape before, and it's like his demo for the new album," DJ Skee said of The Demo Tape. "He's coming back with a new generation of the music business, a new generation of music. All these kids coming up are up on other stuff. He wanted to come back out and get everyone familiar on who he is."

"I wanted to do something different," Kelly said. "I wanted to get closer to the streets. It's the first time an R&B artist has done a mixtape on this level. It's a way to start over and give my fans something new and fresh again. I think it's great for music!"

Kelly teamed up with Skee and DJ Drama and made the mixtape by exchanging e-mails. Kelly would make the music in Chicago and send it out to the two DJs; Skee and Dram would then add their touches.

"He was originally gonna call it The Remix Killa," Skee said. "He has a lot of what he calls his 'remix killa sh--.' That's kinda his mantra. But we have some original records on there — some stuff that's not gonna be on his album and some stuff that's he had in the vault. It's a combination of a little bit of both.

"He remixed Dream's sh--," Skee said. " 'Superman High' with OJ Da Juiceman. He remixed 'Every Girl' by Lil Wayne and Young Money. The Keri Hilson 'Turning Me On.' He's got some sh--. It's Kells. He's got this one with Akon on there, a couple of original ones. There's a record called 'Club to the Bedroom' that leaked, so we got the mastered, real version on there. Then just a couple of other Kells R&B ballads on there."

R. Kelly told us late Monday that his album doesn't have a title, and, as of now, he's not naming it. He's letting the fans call it whatever they want. Come back to MTVNews.com this week for more from the Pied Piper.

Mixtape: 3009 Sh--

Headliners: Ocean's 7

Key Collaborations: The whole damn mixtape — they're a supergroup

Essential Info: They're inspired by the Rat Pack, but Ocean's 7 are more like a wolf pack with savoir-faire. When JD says his crew is in the house, expect a bunch of them (if not all) to be present.

"It's hard to be all together," Dupri told us while in Las Vegas, splitting time between partying and working on albums for Usher and Nelly. "But it's mentally made in the same fashion of the Rat Pack. The Rat Pack used to do little shows out here, and if Dean Martin was performing, they would say [on the billboards] in parentheses 'Maybe Sammy Davis Jr.' or 'Maybe Frank Sinatra.' Dean Martin would have a show at the Sands, and they knew if Sammy Davis or Frank Sinatra was in town, they were definitely getting onstage. That's the same mentality we have with this.

"You don't never know who you gonna get," he added. "When we say Ocean's 7, you know you gonna at least get four of us. But you don't know what other members you gonna catch."

If case you didn't read that snazzy intro at the beginning of this piece, the group is comprised of Dupri, his personal assistant Tyrone Davis, Nelly, So So Def artist and writer extraordinaire Johnta Austin, another writer and producer extraordinaire Bryan-Michael Cox, Nelly and Trey Songz. Austin is executive-producing Trey's new album, and JD produced a few tracks for the project.

"I tell a story at the beginning of the mixtape of how the whole thing happened," JD said. "We was in Vegas working, and it was a thought process. Usher was like, 'Let's go out and eat and be around Vegas and let Vegas know we here.' For the longest time, I been hearing Vegas was dying to have new energy. They try to bring younger people to Vegas, so it don't have that stigma of that old sh-- they used to have. We did all new material, we started form scratch and made brand-new records. With the mixtape, I sampled music from 'Ocean's Eleven.' All the music is sampled from there, with the exception of the 'Ain't I' freestyle and the remix of the Jay-Z song ['Heart of the City']. That was the mentality to really play up on it and make sure we give the city a soundtrack again, but in a younger format. They needed that breath of fresh air, and we trying to be that voice for them. Plus, we love being out here."

So how did Dupri pull it off when we've waited for years for other supergroup projects that never seem to happen? "You gotta be focused, and you gotta have somebody like myself that has a CEO mentality over being an artist," he said.

You can cop the Ocean's mixtape for free at JD's new site, Global14.com.

"That's not what's going on right now," Jermaine said about opting to give the tape away instead of selling it. "As a person that tries to stay in the forefront of what's going on and where we headed in the music and everything ... you can sell if you want to, and you fall victim to this low-sales [wave] that's going on. Not to say that we wouldn't sell a lot of records, but nobody's selling a lot of records. Eminem sold 500,000 less than he's ever sold first week."

Trust, one of the industry's all-time hustling greats is thinking about a way to make money out of all this and entertain at the same time. "We're talking about shooting a movie, and the soundtrack to the first movie would be the Ocean's 7 album."

There's also talk about a Vegas show and/or a tour with all the parties involved. We'll have much more on JD's new movement this week on MTVNews.com.

Travis Barker, Soulja Boy Tell'em, Borat (!) Tweet About Eminem/ Brüno Incident

Posted: 01 Jun 2009 04:07 AM PDT

Even stars at MTV Movie Awards couldn't believe their eyes, and took to Twitter.
By Gil Kaufman

Eminem wasn't the only celebrity at Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards who got an eyeful of Brüno's backside. In fact, a number of the stars in the audience (and those playing along at home) seemed just as surprised as Em when the Austrian model dropped from the rafters and landed on the rapper.

Among them was "Transformers" star Tyrese, who was in the house and Tweeted about the incident, wondering, "I don't know if the EM moment was real or not.. But I tell you what there is no BIGGER moment than that in this show. Highlights galore!" A short while later, he gave an update, telling his followers, "Warning TMI ALERT!!.. Hilarious.. The person who sat behind EM said dude's b---s was on peeeeyuuuu!.. Hilarius!"

You can always count on Ryan Seacrest to weigh in on all things pop culture, and while the "American Idol" host wasn't at the show, he opined that, "re bruno and em.. I have to think somehow Em's people knew Sasha would be lowered but might have been pissed about the full moon in his face." He later added, "First MTV person said real ... another said unsure ... I figure it was planned but Em didn't know Sasha's bare moon was going to be in his face."

Blink-182's Travis Barker was having none of it, Tweeting that, "If i was EMENIM I would've swung on him ... not kool. I love jokes but some dude's a-- in your face is a no no 4 me."

Perez Hilton, on the other hand, was kind of a fan, writing, "this has to be said ... Sasha Baron Cohen has a very nice a--!"

Soulja Boy Tell'em was right there when it all went down and he Tweeted in real time, typing, "Whooaaa!!!!! This naked dude just landed on Eminem in the audience ... Yooo Em is MAD!!!! That was messed up!!! I seen that naked dude on red carpet I was like WTF who is that eww."

Finally, none other than Borat — who bears a striking resemblance to Brüno, sans mustache of course — weighed in on the controversy on Monday. On his Twitter page, the Khazakstani funnyman offered the following insult to injury, "I found out last night that Eminem got his name from the size of his package."

'Twilight' Fans Still Hyperventilating Over 'New Moon' Trailer

'I am still freaking out and have not come down from the high I felt watching the new trailer,' one Twilighter writes.

There were plenty of "Twilight" moments packed into Sunday night's MTV Movie AwardsKristen and Rob's almost-kiss, the Best Movie win, Kristen's fumbled Golden Popcorn — but the one thing fans can't stop talking about (or watching) is that long-awaited "New Moon" trailer.

"I've watched the trailer so many times, I have it memorized," MTV reader MissyTwilighter32109 wrote. "[It was] better than I thought it would be. I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER 20th. It seems like they finally got it right this time."

Since the clip debuted less than 24 hours ago, Twilighters have taken to our comments sections to express their excitement for the film. Let's just say, the fans are pleased.

"OMG. I am still freaking out and have not come down from the high I felt watching the new trailer," NessieCullen wrote.

"WOW! I cannot stop watching it. And every time, I get goose bumps. I love everything! Especially Jacob!" Garrettbw echoed the praise.

While it may be too early to tell, if our superfans are any indication, it looks like the breakout star of "New Moon" will be Taylor Lautner.

"I [was] slightly concerned with how it will compare to the book, but once I saw Taylor Lautner burst into a CGI wolf, I [was] hooked!!" Munkygirl23 wrote.

Twilightgirl2316 is also on Team Jacob. "Jacob looks SO hot. I stopped breathing!!!!! The wolf looks amazing, just like I pictured. I don't want to wait until November. It's not fair!!!"

And though Lautner himself told us he thought the werewolf scene was "so cool," some fans aren't as sold on the special effects.

"AMAZING!" Zenster posted. "Except for the wolf. It looks like a cuddly stuffed animal."

"Hated hated hated the wolf also (so has everyone else I've talked to that I know). I really hope they make it better by the time it hits the big screen," Peebo55 wrote.

But one thing the Twilighters seem to agree on is that the film's November release date can't come soon enough.

MTV user Alicia put it simply: "I want the movie to come NOW, NOW, NOW!!!!!"

T-Pain, Lil Wayne Have Completed 12 Tracks For Joint Project

The T-Wayne project is slow in the making, but T-Pain says they're 'pushing' it.

If Lil Wayne keeps pushing back Rebirth, the rock-tinged album he's been working on all year, and if T-Pain keeps making guest appearances on everyone's record, how are these two ever going to deliver their anticipated T-Wayne supergroup project?

Well, according to T-Pain, the duo have managed to knock out a solid block of tracks so far. That's progress. Last time he updated MTV News, he said the two dreadlocked artists were just getting started.

"We got 12 songs right now," Teddy P told MTV News recently about the T-Wayne sessions. "We going slow; there's no rush. It can come out whenever. We're gonna keep it pushing, however. It's gonna be pushed."

T-Pain was decidedly more low key when discussing the potential blockbuster album this time compared to last summer when he proclaimed he and Wayne were gonna "take over."

"T-Wayne is an entity that's just gonna take over a side of the game," T-Pain promised in July. "It's two artists that done collaborated with every artist in the industry except each other. Being that we getting together, this T-Wayne movement is getting crazy."

While the pair toured together on the first leg of Lil Wayne's I Am Music outing, since that time they've both been on the road separately. Because of their schedules, the pair have had to put together the music without each other. According to T-Pain, one of them will start a song and then send it to the other to add his mix.

"He's sending me blank tracks, I'm sending him blank tracks," T-Pain said last year. "He's sending me tracks with hooks, I'm sending him tracks with hooks. It's just our hectic schedules are keeping us from recording. ... But we both have studios on the bus. So we take that tour bus anywhere we go — it's a done deal."

Our Favorite 'Twilight' MTV Movie Awards Moments

Posted: 01 Jun 2009 03:48 AM PDT

From Rob and Kristen's near-kiss to the trailer seen 'round the world, the book-turned-movie made a huge splash Sunday night.
By Larry Carroll

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — At Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards, the world finally learned what millions of loyal fans have known for some time: "Twilight" rocks!

We also learned plenty about the cast of the hit film — like the fact that they have lots of celebrity admirers, they get embarrassed when caught with their shirts off, and they enjoy running through tourists in the middle of the night to make their escape.

Although the night yielded many memorable "Twilight" moments, here are our top five:

5. Andy Samberg's Opener
Sure, the "Saturday Night Live" funnyman spoofed "Slumdog," "Trek" and others while kicking off the night's festivities, but it was his love-struck moment with Edward Cullen that got some of the biggest laughs of the night. And who knew that Taylor Swift was a student at Forks High? Maybe Andy could title his next viral video "Cullenlover."

4. RPattz Breaks Through
A new noise-level record might have been set at the Gibson Amphitheatre when Robert Pattinson won Breakthrough Male Performance and took the stage to accept his award. First, presenter Jonah Hill jumped up and down like a teenage girl — then Rob delivered what might be the line of the night. "I don't know how many more of these awards I can come up for," he said with his signature mix of British charm and eccentricity. "Because I think there's a little bit coming out of my pants right now."

3. Kristen and Rob Fake Us Out
Remember a few years back, when Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling celebrated their "Notebook" win by giving us a Movie Awards moment to remember? Well, in the weeks leading up to this year's awards, Twilighters had been hoping RPattz and KStew might do the same, and apparently, they'd heard the buzz. Rob carefully removed his gum, inched closer and closer toward a seductive Kristen, until their faces were against each other — and then Kristen turned away at the last second to say, "Thank you so much!" Let's just hope that Rob had a cold shower waiting for him backstage.

2. "New Moon" Rising
After a brief moment when Andy Samberg faked out Twilighters worldwide, the stars of the series took the stage to unveil the real "New Moon" trailer. The video swept across the world like wildfire, got glowing reviews from "Twilight" fans and launched a coming-out party for Taylor Lautner as the series' other heartthrob. "Get your TiVos ready," Lautner grinned while introducing the clip. "You're gonna want to watch this more than once."

1. Best Movie
There is no higher honor to be given at the MTV Movie Awards, and on Sunday night, it was handed to the overjoyed cast of a cultural phenomenon that few had heard about before last year's ceremony. As Catherine Hardwicke and her sexy cast crowded onstage to give praise to Stephenie Meyer, millions of "OME!" shrieks poured out from bedroom windows all over the world. Now, with "New Moon" and additional sequels on the way, the only question is whether they can pull off a "Lord of the Rings"-like sweep of future ceremonies as well.

Unlikely 'Twilight' Celebrity Fans Rave About The Film

Posted: 31 May 2009 11:55 PM PDT

Will Ferrell, Denzel Washington, Kings of Leon are all fans.
By Kathleen Newman-Bremang

The franchise can already count millions of screaming girls as devotees, but "Twilight" can add some Hollywood heavyweights to its list of superfans. In a Movie Awards night packed with many unexpected moments, some unlikely celebrity Twilighters were also exposed. From Denzel Washington to Will Ferrell, it looks like just about everyone has "Twilight" fever.

MTV News caught up with Washington and his daughter, Olivia, who gushed about her love for the film and, of course, Robert Pattinson. Olivia said "Twilight" was "really good" and assured everyone that it's not "just a chick flick." While Washington admitted that he hasn't actually seen the film yet, he promised to make a movie night out of it with his daughter. "We'll watch it when we go on vacation," the actor said.

"High School Musical" stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens may have been in a PDA showdown with Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the Best Kiss category, but Efron put aside any beef and graciously hailed Twilight as a "great film" on the red carpet and said the Edward/Bella lip-lock was "a great kiss."

That kiss also brought out the inner superfan in Stephanie Pratt. When Sway caught up with Pratt after the show, the "Hills" star pegged the "Twilight" Best Kiss acceptance speech as her favorite moment of the night, but couldn't hide her disappointment that Kristen and Rob didn't smooch for real.

"When Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson ... were so close and the whole auditorium was like, 'Are they gonna? Are they gonna?' Then they didn't! But I was, like, dying to see them kiss." Pratt gushed on her way to the show's afterparty.

And you may have been a little confused when Will Ferrell was seen clapping enthusiastically during the now-infamous almost-kiss, but MTV News got the inside scoop: Ferrell is a closet Twilighter.

When the comedian was asked if he was a fan of the movie, he gave a true-to-form quick response. "Obviously," he said. "It's a gimme. You look at me, you're like Twiiii-liiight," Ferrell joked. And as for what "Twilight" team the "Land of the Lost" star supports? "I'm kinda Team Edward, I'm kinda Team Jim, I'm kinda Team ... Stanley."

OK, so Ferrell may not know all the movie's characters, but he did go on to profess his love for everyone's favorite brooding vampire. Ferrell confessed he tried [unsuccessfully] to meet Pattinson all night. "He [kept] going, 'Not now, not a good time.' " (We're not sure how serious he was about all this!)

One celeb that did get to meet the heartthrob backstage was Abigail Breslin. The "Little Miss Sunshine" star officially became the envy of teenage girls everywhere and even got to shake Pattinson's hand. The star jumped up and down in excitement after the encounter.

And finally, Kings of Leon may have been busy giving the crowd a rocking performance onstage, but backstage they showed love for the Best Movie winner.

"I really liked 'Twilight' a lot," singer Caleb Followill told MTV News. "It was a cool, generational kind of movie. I thought it was really pretty."

Readers Sound Off About Brüno/Eminem Incident

Posted: 01 Jun 2009 02:34 AM PDT

Fans are split between defending and slamming Eminem, being amused or disgusted by MTV Movie Awards incident.
By Eric Ditzian

Brüno lands on Eminem during the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday

While there were many memorable moments from the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, without a doubt the most buzzed-about came when a bare-bottomed Brüno dropped from the rafters via wires and landed spread-eagle on Eminem. And nowhere is that buzz more heated than in the article's comments section.

Readers have been sounding off to defend Em and slam him, to praise Brüno and disparage him. We culled some of the most compelling comments to give our readers a front-and-center chance to air their often heated views.

Many readers jumped to Eminem's defense. "Anyone who actually found this act funny is ignorant of what Eminem has gone through and they probably find Eminem to be the rude one for leaving," wrote SuperWock33z. "Eminem should've hit Brüno in the n--s for that. This is no way to repay Emi."

Shelbi Mae agreed. "That was seriously wrong ... and it really doesn't matter if it was Eminem, Zac Efron, or Robert Pattinson ... you just don't send some idiot in a jockstrap flying down with his bare a-- in someone's face," she wrote. "If they agreed to do it then that's cool, but I seriously don't think Eminem really agreed to have some idiot's a-- in his face!!!"

Some, however, thought Em should have just laughed off the incident. "I think Eminem handled that the wrong way," wrote Guatie17. "It WAS the MTV Movie Awards! Outlandish things always happen on the show. He should have been prepared for whatever. And I don't understand why he found it necessary to leave, other than to prove that he's still the temper tantrum throwing rap artist he's always been."

But Hunnibunny thought Eminem played the situation perfectly, despite the seriousness of what happened. "It wasn't a joke, it was assault," the reader said. "Even if it was meant as a joke. Brüno is a nobody. Good job to Em for keeping his cool. He's not stupid. He did the only thing he could do; not beat the chump on live TV, and leave to plot his revenge."

And other readers thought another Hollywood star should have been Brüno's target. "I understand that the whole thing was a joke, but why do it to Em!" wrote Super Chick. "He just came back, and he is great!!!! Should've done it to Will Ferrell or someone that could have handled the humiliation! I think it was extremely rude and uncalled for! I would have been pissed too! That was disgusting! Eminem we support you!"

Many commenters had mixed feelings about the episode. "I'm kinda torn on this one," wrote Sherm. "Yeah I thought it was funny. Yeah I think Em should be pissed. However I think in Em's case if you can say all the sh-- you say about people (no matter how easy the target) then you should be able to take it too."

Like many others, Start2liejoe had nothing but praise for the entire thing. "This is the most random, weird, and funny thing I have ever seen," said the reader. "Pretty sure his bodyguards were taking some swings at [Brüno]. Sorry Brüno, you deserved that."

Bee was not persuaded. "Well, sincerely I didn't find it all that funny ... and I understand him if he got mad," the commenter said. "It's a very uncomfortable situation and I don't really think it has anything with being homophobic to do ... am I weird for not wanting another person's a-- in my face?"

Who Is Brüno?

After landing on Eminem at the MTV Movie Awards, the Austrian fashion reporter causes a stir.
By Eric Ditzian

Brüno arrives to the MTV Movie Awards
Photo: Jon Kopaloff/ FilmMagic

For many viewers of the MTV Movie Awards, Sunday night's show was their first look at Brüno, the gay Austrian fashion correspondent. Of course, no one got a closer look than Eminem, who was minding his own business at the Gibson Amphitheatre when the flamboyant Brüno descended from the rafters dressed like an S&M angel and landed with his bare bum just inches from the rapper's face.

So, who exactly is this guy? Or, as the man himself might ask, "Who ist Brüno?"

Like Madonna or the Pope, Brüno doesn't need a last name. The Austrian-born TV reporter has made a career out of staging awkward, uncomfortable, ridiculously funny interviews with unsuspecting subjects, like a pastor who tries to cure gayness, and a group of macho college wrestlers who end up rolling around on the beach with a delighted Brüno.

He first came to widespread attention during appearances on the British comedy program, "Da Ali G Show." On July 10, Brüno's first feature film is poised to hit theaters. Based on the first trailer, which includes footage of nude bedroom brawls, adult-toy fights and tons of interactions with unaware interview subjects, audiences can expect more over-the-top craziness.

In the movie, we'll see the reporter lose his job after a disastrous outing at Milan fashion week and then flee to America to start a new life. This being Brüno, things don't go exactly according to plan. He ends up adopting a child from Africa, joining a military training camp and going hunting with a few burly Southerners who don't share his enthusiasm for "Sex and the City."

As far as we can tell from this early footage, Brüno doesn't straddle anyone's head half-naked, as he did with Eminem on Sunday, but who knows what might happen in the full film? Once you get to know Brüno, you'll realize that with this very special Austrian, anything is possible.

Check out everything we've got on "Brüno."

We want to hear from you! Turn on that webcam, sound off on what you saw at the MTV Movie Awards and upload your video to YouRHere.MTV.com.
