Are Drake And Jay-Z As Powerful As Drake And Lil Wayne?

"I'm ready to go and get it," said Vado, Cam'ron's new find. "You put me in the game, I'm like, 'Wooo' right now. Hype!" Can Killa Cam do it again? After introducing us to the Dipset, he's dead set on putting the past behind him and focusing on his new clique, the U.N. On deck first is Vado.

We recently caught up with Cam and Vado in Harlem as they filmed a video for the mixtape record "Ric Flair."

There's another Cam-centered Gangsta Grillz dropping soon, the full U.N. album in December and a Vado and Cam solo album at the top of the year.

Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables

Mixtape: Gangsta Grillz: Boss of all Bosses

Headliners: Cam'ron, DJ Drama and Vado

Key Collaborations: The "Get It" remix featuring Mase and "Hustle" with Rick Ross.

Essential Info: Shaheem Reid's favorite record on the mixtape is "Ric Flair," for the simple fact that he pays homage to arguably the greatest wrestler of all time. But getting back to the rest of the tape, Dram says he's been a huge fan of Killa's before they even met. They finally started connecting a few years ago when Cam was coming back and forth to Atlanta, but they solidified plans for this Gangsta Grillz record a few months ago when they crossed paths in New York.

"It's a privilege, man," Cam said. "I ain't gonna lie — Drama had stepped to me to do the Gangsta Grillz tape a while ago, but I was in the middle of doing my album. I didn't want to be like, 'This is hot for the tape, but I might have to do it for my album.' So once my album was done, we got back in contact. I been jealous — I been wanting to do a Gangsta Grillz for three years. I had an attitude ... slight jealousy ... a little attitude about not doing a Gangsta Grillz. I wanna tell Drama thank you for letting my man Vado get a lot a shine on there."

The Streets Is Talking: News & Notes From The Underground

The world finally got a chance to hear some of what Drake and Jay-Z have been keeping under wraps in the studio for so long. Their collaboration "Off That" from the Blueprint 3 album leaked on Sunday. Recently Drizzy told us that he and Jay have aligned on more than just that record and are actually due to finish up more music soon.

"We got to work a couple nights, actually," Drake explained. "We did a few joints and from what I hear we're going back in to try and get some more stuff done."

The impact of working with Hov has been immense for the 22-year-old MC.

"Jay has been one of the most special people to me in this game," he said. "I don't think I'll ever forget the nights me and Jay had in the studio, and the things he'll tell me and just the way he embraced me. It's one of the best feelings in my life. Jay is one of those guys that you can say, 'I look up to this guy,' or 'I like this guy's music.' I wanted to be Jay. That's what they say about the best artists. To be a great rapper, men gotta wanna be you and women gotta wanna ... you know. I wanna be myself, but for me to say, 'If I couldn't be me, I wanted to be that man' — that's huge. ... To have that man in my life and to be able to interact with him and talk to him and, best of all, work with him — there's not a real sentence I can say to describe it. Hopefully Jay and Drake are as powerful as Drake and Wayne. I hope people see that union and it comes up more than once in the future."

Britney Spears pulled out all the stops for her first night of three shows at Madison Square Garden on Monday. Donning several different sexy outfits and addressing the crowd a few times, Spears definitely showed her critics that she can still charm an arena full of fans.

After opening acts Kristinia DeBarge and Jordin Sparks finished their sets, the Circus began. First came acrobats on trampolines, then the opening video of Perez Hilton dressed as a queen presenting the show's ringmaster, Spears herself.

Spears descended from the ceiling dressed in a shiny metal bodysuit, starting the show off with her single "Circus." She then hopped in a cage with male dancers dressed in S&M gear for "Piece of Me."

Britney broke out a slew of fan favorites, like "Radar" (complete with pole dancing), "Boys," (during which she requested the male dancers do push-ups for her) and "If U Seek Amy," which segued into Spears reemerging onstage in her genie attire for "In the Zone."

But the crowd got most excited when Spears addressed them directly, asking how everyone was doing before saying, "I'm going to do a ballad. It's called 'Everytime.' " She then wiped something away from her cheek — it seemed she got a bit emotional while floating above the stage in the arm of a giant umbrella.

Spears spoke to the fans again, asking, "What's up New York?" before launching into a remixed version of "I'm a Slave 4 U" sporting a sparkly black bodysuit.

"Toxic" also wowed the crowd as Britney performed the hit in skintight red pants, a black sports bra and knee-high boots. Her last song before the encore was a remixed version of her classic, " ... Baby One More Time."

As she took the stage for final time, a video featuring the most memorable images from her music videos played as the music for "Womanizer" kicked in. Dressed as a policewoman, she closed the show with a blaze of fireworks, addressing the crowd one more time before taking her bow, saying, "Have a wonderful night."

Aubrey O'Day Talks New Single, 'Never Fallin' '

'I haven't been overly excited to go back into the studio,' singer says of post-Danity Kane career.

For anyone wondering when Aubrey O'Day will be releasing a solo album — you will have to wait a little bit longer. The singer may be hitting the studio here and there to guest on tracks, but she is not quite ready to work full-time on her post-Danity Kane audio output.

"I had a very traumatic experience on and off working with Bad Boy and the cameras constantly in there. There was never vibes ... a lot of that matters when you're making music," she told MTV News. "When we made music, it was two to three cameras, two to three inches from our face, waiting to catch a bad note so they could have a show. So I haven't been overly excited to go back into the studio, to be quite honest."

It wasn't until she was offered the chance to lay down vocals on the cover of Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time" that O'Day was given some great advice by her collaborator, Shanell Woodgette. "She came into the studio and she's like, 'Girl, relax. Enjoy it — enjoy the flaws,' " she recalled. "And that was the first time that someone let me do that in the studio."

In addition to her work on the Eddie Murphy cover, she also hooked up with Roscoe Umali for a reimagining of New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle," called "Fallin'." "We did a verse out there for all the haters, all the Aubrey critics," she said. "We kind of started laughing about all the things that people say about me."

"Well, the song takes the 'Bizarre Love Triangle' lyrics and it addresses all the haters," she explained, adding that she got on Twitter and made sure her fans had a say in what she was singing about on the track. "The haters jumped on, gave their two cents. All the fans jumped on and said, 'We love you,' and I took the good and the bad and I wrote this verse kind of showing everybody what I feel about it — which is, I laugh at it."

And although she's "really excited" about all the new music, it doesn't mean that O'Day, who will star in "Peepshow" in Las Vegas in the fall, is hard at work on her next album. "But it's by in no means a first single or a preview for my album," she said. "It's just me finally getting back in the studio and loving my voice and my ability, and having faith in my talent again."

Michael Jackson's Body Had Lethal Levels Of Propofol: Court Documents

Investigators found deadly levels of Propofol in Jackson's body.

Although Los Angeles County coroner's officials have put a security hold on the official autopsy results in the Michael Jackson case until police complete their investigation, the Los Angeles Times reported that a search warrant unsealed in Houston on Monday (August 24) revealed that coroner's office investigators found lethal levels of the fast-acting, powerful anesthetic propofol in Jackson's body. The documents reportedly quote the L.A. County Coroner's Office as reaching that conclusion after Jackson's autopsy, according to the Times.

It should be noted that the court documents are not the official autopsy results, a fact that was reflected in a statement the Jackson family issued through a spokesperson late Monday afternoon.

"The Jackson family has full confidence in the legal process, and commends the ongoing efforts of the L.A. County Coroner, the L.A. District Attorney and the L.A. Police Department," the statement reads. "The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served."

The warrant revealed that Jackson's personal physician, cardiologist Dr. Conrad Murray, told Los Angeles Police Department detectives that he had been treating Jackson for insomnia for six weeks and that he'd been giving the 50-year-old singer 50 milligrams of propofol (also known as Diprivan) every night, using an IV. The doctor — who is reportedly at the center of a manslaughter investigation by the Los Angeles police — also told investigators that he was afraid Jackson was developing an addiction to the drug and that he was trying to wean him off of it.

In doing so, Murray said he lowered the dosage of the drug to 25 milligrams and mixed in two other sedatives, lorazepam (commonly known as Ativan) and midazolam (commonly known as Versed). Two days before Jackson's death, on June 23, Murray said he administered those two medications and withheld the propofol. And then, on the day Jackson died, he attempted to induce sleep without any propofol, giving Jackson Valium at 1:30 a.m. and when that didn't work, injecting him with lorazepam intravenously at 2 a.m. then with midazolam at 3 a.m. when Jackson was still awake.

When Jackson continued to struggle to get to sleep, according to the affidavit, Murray gave the singer various other drugs. At 10:40 a.m., after repeated demands, Murray gave Jackson 25 milligrams of propofol.

Medical experts have told MTV News that Jackson, who reportedly had a history of addiction to a number of prescription medications, might have suffered from insomnia as a result of the side effects of those addictions and that an anesthetic might have been his method of choice for battling the chronic sleep disorder. propofol is intended for use in a medical setting under the guidance of an anesthesiologist or other professional with knowledge of anesthesia. Because of the strength of the drug and its fast-acting nature, it is necessary to monitor the patient's heart rate and breathing, as propofol can suppress breathing to the point where a patient's heart stops. Jackson died as a result of cardiac arrest.

According to the Times, despite Murray's admission that he had administered propofol to Jackson, they could not find any evidence that he purchased the drug under his medical license or Drug Enforcement Administration tracking number. When police arrived at Jackson's home on June 25, they found eight bottles of propofol along with other pills that had been prescribed to Jackson by Murray, the singer's longtime dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, and another physician, Dr. Allan Metzger; in addition to raiding Murray's Las Vegas and Houston offices and a storage facility and carting away documents and computers, police have also served search warrants on Metzger and Klein's Los Angeles offices.

Among the drugs confiscated in the search of Jackson's rented home were a variety of anti-anxiety, anti-depressant, anti-insomnia medications and muscle relaxants: Valium, tamsulosin, lorazepam, temazepam, clonazepam, trazodone and tizanidine, as well as propofol found in Murray's medical bag. Murray told investigators that he was not the first doctor to give propofol to Jackson and that between March and April 2009, he called Las Vegas cosmetologist David Adams at Jackson's request to arrange for Adams to use the drug to sedate the singer. Police also subpoenaed records from Adams, according to the affidavit.

Murray said that once he began treating Jackson, he repeatedly asked the pop star to reveal what other doctors were treating him and what drugs they were prescribing, but Jackson refused. He also told investigators that he noticed injection marks on the singer's hands and feet and that when he inquired about them, Jackson said he'd been given an unidentified "cocktail" to help him.

Aaliyah: Remembering Her Legacy Eight Years On

Posted: 25 Aug 2009 04:21 AM PDT

On the eighth anniversary of her untimely death, we look back on her accomplishments and wonder what might have been.
By Jayson Rodriguez

One of the last hits from Aaliyah's all-too-brief career was the track "More Than a Woman," released posthumously from her self-titled third LP.

The song and the video both showcased Aaliyah Dana Haughton, then 22, at her finest: flirty, reserved, sultry and, most importantly, it left listeners and viewers with a palpable sense that there was indeed more to come from this talented artist. Unfortunately, her life was tragically cut short when a plane carrying her and her entourage crashed shortly after takeoff. Her death — which occurred exactly eight years ago — still feels like it happened entirely too soon.

Ever since the Detroit singer and dancer debuted in 1994 with Age Ain't Nothing But a Number, we all watched Aaliyah blossom. Her initial look of dark sunglasses and baggy clothes evolved into a more adult look on her next album, One In a Million. She was always beautiful, but later as a young woman she exuded the kind of appeal that was as sexy as a whisper in your ear — so subtle that it never had to be overtly pointed out.

She also possessed the type of talent and charisma that led many to believe her future was as bright as a supernova.

"Aaliyah was one of the finest young women I have ever worked with. She was a consummate professional, an amazing talent with limitless potential and, most importantly, an exceptional person," Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who worked with the singer on the film "Romeo Must Die," said in a statement after her death. "Her passing is a huge loss to her many friends here at Warner Bros. and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and to those who loved her as we did."

Her credits are easy to remember: three albums that were each certified double-platinum along with the aforementioned "Romeo Must Die," which helped to put her on Hollywood's map. Another film, "Queen of the Damned," was released after she passed.

Her legacy is slinkier — immense yet understated, just like her voice. Traces of it lie the way Ciara moved in the video for "Promise." It's there in Rihanna's runway-fashion sense. Keri Hilson's around-the-way persona and Nicole Scherzinger's simmering sexuality share a debt to her. And the sense of what her career could have ultimately become is evident in Beyoncé's multimedia presence.

During Aaliyah's rise, she and her contemporaries shared a number of similarities, most notably an affinity for going by just one name: Brandy, Monica, Mya, etc. All of them did well from the very beginning. Since then, of course, they've continued to experience success, but each with the usual ups and downs that fame tends to dish out. Aaliyah undoubtedly would have gone on to accomplish more.

But she always felt different, more mature than her age — and her ascent also felt more gradual and firm, and when she passed there was a sadness that resonated because she was set to soar.

"I'll be more than a lover, more than a woman," she sang. "I'm gonna be more. I don't think you're ready."

There truly was no way we could have been.

Over the years, Queen Latifah has rubbed shoulders with countless people in music and film industry. So it's no surprise that on Sunday, on the set of the video for her new single, "Fast Car," Missy Elliott (also featured on the record), Common, Robin Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, shot their cameos for the video.

"I just asked them," Latifah said, "and I really appreciate all of them showing up, because they all have really busy schedules. They got to drive these Mustangs around this track a little, put the pedal to the metal, which is always fun."

The video was shot at Wall Township Speedway in South Belmar, New Jersey. Latifah, Common and Thicke all got a chance to drive around the racetrack in their own individual Ford Mustangs before the rain came down.

Latifah stars along side both Common and Paula Patton in the upcoming romantic comedy, "Just Wright." Latifah stars as a physical therapist Lesile Wright who falls for a pro basketball player played by Mehcad Brooks. She said they've built a rapport, while on set.

"I know how hard they've been working, and they know how hard I've been working, but we cool like that."

The song is from Latifah's new LP, Persona, out today (August 25), which combines hip-hop and pop was was executive-produced by the hitmaking team of Cool and Dre.

Common said he really respects Latifah as not only a great talent in everything from music to modeling to business, but a friend.

"I think she's an incredible person and we've been working together ['Just Wright'], so it's a camaraderie, so she invited me to come through for the video and I was like, 'Yeah, for sure.' "

Robin Thicke said he and Latifah had been friends for 10 years, so he jumped at the opportunity when asked. However, he did seem most excited to drive around the racetrack ...

"I was getting my Ricky Bobby on!" he said. "If you're not first you're last."

One of the main blueprints for Jay-Z's success is staying several steps in front of the rest of the game. And on Sunday night, a song addressing just that idea — the latest record from his forthcoming Blueprint 3 LP — hit the Net. In the song, "Off That," featuring Drakeand produced by Timbaland. the trio look to the future.

"This is what tomorrow is," Jay declares as the first verse ends. "Welcome to tomorrow, bi---!"

"Whatever you about to discover, we off that," Drake testifies on the chorus. "You about to tell her you love her, we off that/ Always wanna fight in the club, we off that/ But you can't bring the future back/ Y'all steady chasing the fame, we off that/ Oversized clothes and chains, we off that/ N---as still making it rain, we off that/ 'Cause you can't bring the future back."

"Please tell Bill O'Reilly to fall back," Hov raps near the top of the second verse. "Tell Rush Limbaugh to get off my b---s, it's 2010, not 1864/ We come so far ... How's that for a mix?/ Got a black president, got green presidents/ Blueprint's in my white iPod, black diamonds in my Jesus piece, my God."

Timbo keeps the beat fast paced on a European-techno hip-hop vibe. Last year, Timbaland told MTV News of the grand plans he had for Jay's album.

"We wanna go to the world," he divulged last July. "The world is 'Big Pimpin'.' 'Big Pimpin' ' is an international hit, so we wanna do 10 of those — meaning, some of the songs gonna sound like M.I.A. would rap on some of the beats. You gonna be like, 'Whoa!' But it's Jay on 'em. That means it reaches everywhere. I'mma have songs with bagpipes. The music is gonna be so worldwide, he'll be able to tour the rest of his life, maybe, off just this one album. The Jay-Z album is gonna be phenomenal. You know why? We don't care. We're doing great music just to do it. We doing it for our fans who love us to say we ain't quit. I'm doing it 'cause that's my homeboy."

On the LP, Tim shares production work with the likes of Swizz Beatz, No I.D., the Neptunes and, of course, Kanye West, who helmed the majority of the opus.

Jay is expected to announce a September 11 concert at New York's Madison Square Garden to celebrate his album's release. He will also perform at MTV's Video Music Awards on September 13.

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will take place September 13 at 9 p.m. ET. Additional celebrity presenters and performers will be announced in the coming weeks. To be the first to find out the inside scoop, follow the Inside MTV Twitter account at Twitter.com/InsideMTV.

Heidi Montag is getting lots of kudos from her sister-in-law and fellow "Hills" star, Stephanie Pratt, who loved seeing Heidi shake and shimmy to her new single, "Body Language," on live TV on Sunday night at the Miss Universe pageant.

"Heidi looks bangin' [in Playboy], but even better was her Miss Universe [performance] last night," she told MTV News. "Freaked out. ... I was on a stool, just, like, 'I cannot wait for this!' I love 'Body Language.' Blown away. She's never looked better. I thought she did absolutely amazing. I think she really could have blown it, and I really think this is a career possibility."

Pratt revealed that when she initially heard about Heidi's appearance, she didn't have high expectations. She thought Montag's show would consist of "doing, like, arm signals and just singing," but she was surprised to see the fully choreographed performance with backup dancers.

"Whoever that makeup artist was deserves an award," she said. "The hair, amazing. The body suit that Britney Spears kind of wore, but sexier. ... I mean, it's not like she's a young Britney Spears, because Britney is just, like, God love her. Love her."

Pratt was happy to see that Heidi is finally getting to live out the dream that she's been sharing with her friends and family for years. "When I first met her, she said she wanted to be a pop star, and this was like three years ago," she said, though she still seemed surprised that Montag was actually able to pull it off. "Who really can be a pop star unless you've been singing and dancing forever? We've never seen Heidi take a dance class or anything like that."

What Is Propofol, The Drug That Contributed To Michael Jackson's Death?

Singer was found with lethal levels of the drug in his system, according to court documents released Monday.

In court documents unsealed on Monday (August 24), Michael Jackson reportedly had lethal levels of the drug propofol in his system, and the drug has been at the center of many of the investigations that have taken place in the wake of the singer's death in June.

The very potent drug, also known as Diprivan, is administered intravenously as a general anesthetic used to sedate patients for surgery and is only available to medical personnel.

"This is only meant for use in anesthesia and [administering it as a sleep aid]. It's like giving someone chemotherapy so they don't have to shave their head," veteran anesthesiologist Dr. John F. Dombrowski — who has not treated Jackson and has no information about the case, but has used propofol often in his practice — told MTV News last month. "It's one purpose is as an anesthetic, to induce that sleepy feeling, and when I run it as an IV drip, I can keep you asleep, and when I turn it off, you are quickly awake. It works in 30 seconds or so, and it is out of your system quickly when I turn it off."

Dombrowski said the drug is so powerful that it is critical to have someone in attendance who has the ability to rescue you should your breathing cease or some other critical failure occur, which is why the drug is only used in operating rooms and in doctor's offices where providers are on hand to support patients and intervene should something go wrong. "It is never used outside a medical setting during a procedure," he said. "And it is never used as a sleeping aid. I've never heard of that in my 16 years of practice."

In the court documents, Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, reportedly said that Jackson had repeatedly requested propofol to help him sleep, and registered nurse Cherilyn Lee told The Associated Press that Jackson repeatedly begged her for the drug to help him with insomnia related to anxiety over upcoming 50-date residency at the O2 Arena in London. Lee said she declined his requests for the drug. According to Lee, a member of Jackson's staff called her in a panic on June 21, pleading with her to help him after what appeared to be an adverse drug reaction. "At that point, I knew that someone had given him something that hit the central nervous system," she said of the singer's complaints that half of his body felt hot and half felt cold.

A spokesperson for the drug's provider, APP Pharmaceuticals, confirmed that it is only available to medical professionals. The widely used drug is used primarily for outpatient surgical procedures because it is very fast acting, typically knocking the patient out within 30 seconds. As described by Lee to the AP, Jackson complained of hot/cold sensations, and propofol is sometimes known to create a painful burning sensation, which is often alleviated by the use of the drug Lidocaine, which TMZ reported was also found near Jackson's body.

Dombrowski said that Jackson, who was reportedly on a number of different strong pain medications at the time of his death and who was alleged to have struggled with an addiction to prescription medication, likely built up a tolerance to those drugs over the years. "You not only build up a tolerance, but these drugs can also mess with your sleep cycle and so you want to be sedated, you want that feeling of being out that patients who abuse these medications like," he explained. "After a while, you are no longer getting out like you want to be, so you need an anesthetic and a cardiologist or nurse who might know of these drugs might make the leap that they could be used to help someone sleep. But again, that is way, way out there."

Britney Spears Fans Gather Early For Madison Square Garden Show

After making stops in London, Paris, Moscow and Berlin, Britney Spears landed in MTV News' hometown of New York City to kick off the second leg of her Circus tour Monday night. Outside Madison Square Garden, just minutes South of our Times Square headquarters, fans in homemade T-shirts, feather headdresses and head-to-toe tie-dye showed up hours early, and we were there to find out which songs everyone was dying to hear almost a month after she last took the stage.

By far the top choice was "Circus" itself, the second single off her latest album, with at least a dozen fans we chatted to hoping Brit would belt out those first words, "There's only two types of people in the world/ The ones that entertain and the ones that observe."

But others were hoping for a taste of something a little more obscure. Irene Azvolinsky, 14, was keeping her fingers crossed for "Unusual You," a track from Circus produced by the team Bloodshy & Avant. "It's not very popular and not too many people know it, but it's really catchy," she said.

High on ticketholders' wish lists were Spears faves from albums past, like "Radar," "I'm a Slave 4 U," and " ... Baby One More Time." But just as requested to the concert gods were Circus tunes such as "Womanizer," for which Spears was nominated in MTV Video Music Award categories like Video of the Year and Best Pop Video.

"If U Seek Amy" had a ton of fans, including Alison Printz, 16, who inscribed the lyrics — "Love me, hate me, say what you want about me" — on her shirt and belted out a line for our cameras.

For many teenage fans who can hardly remember a time when Brit wasn't a bass-thumping fixture in their lives, the appeal of her older tracks was overwhelming. "I love 'Toxic,' " said Eliza McNitt, 18. "I've choreographed songs to it. I danced to it when I was little."

Yet for many, the important thing was simply to have the chance to catch Spears in concert at Madison Square Garden, which its owners like to call the world's most famous arena. Junior Sena, 22, had already checked out multiple Circus shows and was open to anything going down onstage — musical or otherwise.

"She could get onstage and play with her kids!" he said with a laugh. "She could pull her extensions out!"
