Last week, we brought you Ghostface Killah talking about making an album with Mary J. Blige. This week, Ghost gets more in form with what you're used to: He's down to do an LP with his brothers.

While there's no word on an LP featuring the entire Wu-Tang Clan, Tony Starks has high hopes for a trio opus starring himself, Raekwon and Method Man.

"We ain't got no title for it, but they been wanting to do that for a while, maybe like the past two years," Ghost said recently in New York. "I was always with it. I think that right now, everybody is in that position to do it now. I think within the next two months, everybody will start collecting beats. Everybody goes in — he's got four songs, I got four songs, [Meth] has four. Start coming around like that and seeing what we can do. Make a little phat tight one. I told Meth the other day, 'It's gotta be phat and tight. We don't need 16, 19 joints on there. Nah, nah, nah — 12 phat bullets. We do it like that, and that's it.' That's gonna happen soon. It will probably be out by the end of the year or January, and that's that."

You will get a preview of what Rae, Ghost and Meth can do on the upcoming Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II LP. Ghost recorded around 10 songs for the album. (It's still not confirmed how many of the records will appear on the final LP.)

"Rae got darts," Ghost promised. "His beats were up to par. He was doing what he gotta do. It's good, man. People wanna see that. Rae's been like, 'Cuban Linx coming, Cuban Linx is coming' for years. Mutha----as was like, 'Yo, when is it coming, B?' Now he's finally finished it, and he's gonna put it out September 8."

Ghost's The Wizard of Poetry is coming out this year, but he doesn't have a concrete date yet.

"If it's not steaming," he said of his buzz, "we can't put it out until it's right."

Ghost worked with some of his favorite R&B stars from Estelle to John Legend on his new disc. The first single is "Baby" with Raheem DeVaughn.

Kris Allen's Secret Songwriting Weapon? Adam Lambert

'He had some good things to say, some critiques to say as well,' Allen says of fellow 'Idol' finalist.

Every "American Idol" champ's debut disc is a make-or-break affair. For every David Cook, there's a Taylor Hicks. The stakes are high, and the odds of success are slim, which is why, for his post-"Idol" debut, season-eight champ Kris Allen is hoping to increase his chances by getting a little help from his friend Adam Lambert.

"Adam will get a song, and he'll be like, 'Listen to this,' and I'll tell him what I think about it, whether I like it or not. And we were actually doing that last night. ... He was listening to some things of mine," Allen told MTV News. "He had some good things to say, some critiques to say as well. We do that to each other. ... We're just trying to help each other out."

And Allen has needed the help. By his own admission, he's struggled while balancing writing and recording with all the duties that come with being "Idol" champ. But every day, he's getting a bit better at it.

"The time thing is crazy. When you dream of making your first album, you don't dream of making it on tour. ... It's nuts, but we're finding the time to write, and writing is putting my stamp on [my album], so it's happening," he said. "To be honest, at first it was hard, because they stuck me in these co-writing sessions, and I was like, 'I've never done this before.' It was weird. I'd get in there, and I'd be like 'I don't know what to do. ... I'm sorry.' But I've gotten used to it, and it's good to bounce ideas off each other, and so I've been writing a lot with other people, and writing some stuff on my own too."

Allen has already worked with Fray guitarist Joe King, hip-hop producer Salaam Remi and famed songwriter Claude Kelly on the album, which is due in the fall. And while he's still not sure of just how many of those collaborations will actually end up on the record, he's already made one track-list decision: "No Boundaries" — the clunky, Kara DioGuardi-penned "Idol" victory single he's already stopped performing live — won't be on the album. Probably.

"I doubt it'll end up on there," Allen said. "But who knows? Maybe as a Wal-Mart bonus track or something. I love Wal-Mart."

Lady Gaga isn't afraid to go head-to-head with Beyoncé at this year's Video Music Awards. In fact, the singer can't wait to see what happens when she and B compete against one another for the coveted Moonmen in September.

"So excited! I can't believe it," the nine-time nominee told reporters in Seoul, South Korea, where she was in town for her Fame Ball tour. "I'm delighted to be in Beyoncé's company, and I can't wait to go to the awards show and hopefully kick some ass."

But before she can kick some of that aforementioned behind, Gaga will be busy hitting the road on her tour. And the sequined performer couldn't be more excited about all the accolades and success she's been having lately.

"I've been having such an amazing time. I mean, I feel so blessed that I can do the Fame Ball around the world," she said. "We just did the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan — in Tokyo and Osaka — and now we're here in Korea. And I'm going to do the Fame Ball for my fans tonight, and I just love them so much."

But once Gaga puts the Fame Ball away for good, she'll be back on the road again. And this time, she has an equally famous and interesting partner to join the Haus of Gaga. That lucky guy is Kanye West. "It's been fun to work on the design of the tour with him. We're finishing each other's sentences," she said about the guy she once joked she was married to. "It's going to be one of the most groundbreaking moments in touring history. I am sure of it."

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will take place September 13 at 9 p.m. ET. Nominees, celebrity presenters and additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks. To be the first to find out the inside scoop, follow the Inside MTV Twitter account at Twitter.com/InsideMTV.

50 Cent And Joe Budden Lead Your Hottest MCs In The Game Votes

Our hip-hop team talks about your poll results before the list starts rolling out Monday, in Off the Dome.

This is actually just what we wanted — thousands of fans talking about which hip-hop artists they love, in one forum.

This week, we announced that our Hottest MCs in the Game list is coming back starting Monday, and we let the readers of MTVNews.com share their opinions with us and their peers.

We posed the question: "Who is Your Choice for the Hottest MC in the Game?" While the results of our poll — which includes more than 30 names in hip-hop — has no bearing on the actual Hottest list, your opinions are highly regarded. So far, the leading vote getters are 50 Cent and Joe Budden.

Reader Biggs50 wrote in the comments section that 50 is the "Hottest MC ever," while BlackCease co-signed, saying, "Alright, okay! MTV and the world is waking up. ... They say Obama didn't change anything, sh--, even America is waking up and acknowledging real hip-hop. Of course 50 is #1. He has been #1 since Get Rich or Die Tryin'. ... While Obama is prez, America's perspective is better!"

That's a die-hard if you ever heard one. Reader KaYe is riding tough for Mr. Jumpoff from New Jersey. "You people are trippin' if you think Joe Budden doesn't deserve to be on there. He [will have] dropped Halfway House, Padded Room, Escape Route and the Slaughterhouse album this year alone and is supposed to drop Mood Music 4 and The Great Escape before the end of the year. Who else is really doing that much?"

Myself and Rahman Dukes had a chance to talk about the picks, and we have to admit that it's no surprise that Budden is on the top, although he might not have a marquee name. Joey has a huge Internet presence. Meanwhile, Fif has the best of both worlds: millions of albums sold, plus a loyal underground following. Keep the votes coming.

Who do you think deserves to be on our Hottest MCs in the Game list? Make your voice heard below!

The debate over who is the hottest MC of 2009 is on! Cast your vote now — series begins August 17, with the top MC being revealed on the August 24 episode of "Making His Band" at 10 p.m. ET!

Exclusive: Mark Hoppus Says Blink-182 Will Tour Again ... In Europe

'All three of us have agreed to go over to Europe in the next year, so we're going to start planning that out,' he says.

Blink-182's reunion tour has been a runaway success, and not just because they've proven that they haven't lost a step.

No, it's the reaction they've gotten from fans, who have flocked to the shows en masse, selling out arenas across North America and snapping up merchandise with reckless abandon. To be honest, Blink are a little blown away by it all. See, when they first announced they were hitting the road again, they had no idea how fans would react — or even if they still had fans.

"When we booked this tour, we had no expectation of anything. We didn't know if people were going to come to the shows, if they weren't, if anybody still cared about Blink, for that matter," bassist Mark Hoppus laughed. "We knew some people were still excited about it. We were definitely excited about it, but, um, our booking agent was just, like, losing his mind for three months straight, booking this tour, and then tickets went on sale, and all these shows sold out in an hour, two hours, a day, and everyone's jaw dropped."

It's not much of a stretch to say Blink are having the time of their lives on tour — Hoppus described it as "a really great summer-camp celebration, with all your friends and really good vibes" — which is why they're in no hurry to end it. They've just added another show to the schedule (a massive October 4 gig at New York's legendary Madison Square Garden with Fall Out Boy), and they've already got their next move planned out too.

For the first time in nearly six years, they'll be touring Europe, Hoppus revealed to MTV News on Tuesday (August 11). Dates are still being hammered out, but Blink are most definitely heading back across the Atlantic in 2010.

"The rest of the year, with Blink-182? We will go and continue the recording the process, [and] something I can tell you that nobody else knows is that we are working out details of a European tour at some point, coming up," he said. "All three of us have agreed to go over to Europe in the next year, so we're going to start planning that out. ... It's going to be a busy rest of the year, for sure"

Pete Wentz Offers Nude-Photo Advice To Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Greene

'Let it go away,' says Fall Out Boy bassist, who had his own leaked-picture scandal in 2006.
By James Montgomery

When it comes to embarrassing nude photographs being leaked to the Internet, Pete Wentz is somewhat of an unwitting expert.

As you're probably aware, back in 2006, someone hacked into his Sidekick and posted photos of his, uh, manhood onto a message board, making his privates a very public matter. For about 48 hours, Wentz freaked out. He felt angry, embarrassed and — most of all — violated. He hemmed and hawed, nearly quit his band, but then, he decided he had to move on.

He decided the best thing to do was just laugh the entire situation off. Which is why Fall Out Boy parodied the infamous photos in their "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" video. And, over time, people stopped asking him about the whole incident.

But now, a whole new generation of celebs is dealing with same thing. "Bandslam" star Vanessa Hudgens has had to deal with two sets of leaked photos, and on Monday, "Twilight" star Ashley Greene had to deal with a nude-picture scandal of her own. So when Wentz stopped by MTV News on Tuesday (August 11), we asked him if he had any advice for the actresses on how to deal with the whole situation. Turns out, he had a whole lot.

"Well, I handled it pretty terribly for the first 48 hours," Wentz said. "I mean, I quit my band and everything. But then what I realized is that it's not the worst thing on the planet that's ever gonna happen. [I] apologized to my mom, realized that the best way to not have pictures on the Internet is to never take the pictures at all, and then made fun of it. I mean, I didn't put those pictures out there myself. It wasn't some ploy, you know, like 'Yeah, this'll be a way I'll get my band big!' We made fun of it in the 'Arms Race' video. And just get over it."

Wentz said that, sure, the press is going to be bad for a while, but we're living in the 24-hour news cycle, which means, soon enough, there's gonna be another scandal for the media outlets to glom on to. So if you can take the heat — and learn to laugh at yourself a bit — you'll wind up just fine.

"I got asked about it in interviews for a while after that, and then I guess it didn't matter," he continued. "The bigger deal you make of it, and the more you try to prove that it wasn't you or it was like this or that, the only people who are really going to know the story are, like, you and two other people. So, it's like, don't sit out there and make it a big deal. Let it go away."

Lil Wayne Appears In Court

Lawyer continues to fight DNA evidence in rapper's 2007 gun-possession arrest.

NEW YORKLil Wayne appeared briefly in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday (August 11) for a hearing in the ongoing case stemming from his 2007 arrest on gun-possession charges following his first solo headlining show in New York.

The rapper was only present for a few minutes as his attorney continued to fight DNA evidence introduced by the prosecution. The gun in question is legally registered to Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant. However, the district attorney in the case is attempting to tie the rapper to the firearm.

"It's about whether or not we get a hearing to evaluate whether this type of DNA evidence is admissible," Stacey Richman, Wayne's lawyer, told MTV News. "It's not accepted anywhere else in the country. Los Angeles just rejected it March 18th. It's problematic. People assume DNA [is accurate], but that's not the facts. And there's great concern. It's not just a Lil Wayne case, but all citizens. You don't want a rubber-stamp procedure that could potentially convict thousands of innocent people."

In May, one of the arresting officers in the case was questioned on the stand during a short hearing. Conflicting information regarding the arrest was filed in different reports, in particular the time of the arrest compared with the time the vehicle, Lil Wayne's tour bus, was pulled over. The case was adjourned until next month, when the judge is expected to rule on the next motion.

The rapper is currently in the midst of his headlining tour, Young Money Presents: The America's Most Wanted Music Festival. His most recent date was on Sunday in Atlanta. The rapper is expected to rejoin the tour Wednesday, where he's scheduled to perform in Phoenix.

LMFAO Remember Their In-Law, Michael Jackson

The son and nephew of Motown founder Berry Gordy 'basically grew up around Michael and Jermaine.'

"It was a shock to me — that the man was up and practicing the night before and then boom! On the floor. That's not the way it was meant to be," lamented Redfoo, one-half of the electro-hip-hop group LMFAO, in New York last week. He and nephew/bandmate Sky Blu join the millions of Michael Jackson fans around the world still reeling from the loss of arguably the greatest entertainer in history.

In just over a month, artists from across the globe have shared their sorrow at the falling of the pop-music icon, but for Red and Sky — who are the son and nephew, respectively, of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy — Michael Jackson's passing runs deeper. It was a death in the family.

"We are in the Gordy family," said Red. "Berry Gordy found Michael and the Jackson 5. And we basically grew up around Michael and Jermaine. Jermaine is married to my sister. Married to his aunt," he said, pointing to Sky.

In fact, the LMFAO duo were among those seen seated near the Jackson family during the globally televised memorial service for Jackson in Los Angeles. And as the media storm ensued and the business of retrospectives swelled in the weeks that followed, the twosome tried to make sense of what was going on around them.

"I tried to look at it as, 'What can I learn from this?' " said Red. "Society just ... he must have wanted to check out ... or escape, because of these critics. And it's funny, because we have critics now. They say if you buy the Party Rock album, it inspires one to drink."

"Another thing they say is, 'If you buy the album, it inspires sexual activities,' " said Sky.

"So we clap to that," confessed Red. "We are not gonna let it get us down so we feel like we can't go out in the public anymore. He was exactly who he wanted to be. And we model ourselves after that."

In the end, the LMFAO guys take comfort in the fact that while they were not able to share their music with Michael Jackson personally, they heard he'd given them his stamp of approval.

"We have a mutual friend," recounted Sky. "And a month before he passed, she was hanging with him, Michael, on a porch. They talked for about an hour about how proud he was about us, and how he was into the music and really digging it. And I was like, 'Wow!' Because my dream was to talk to him about it, as a man. And say, 'Man, look what we are doing now.' "

Michael Jackson Hits To Be Remixed By Neptunes, Dallas Austin, More

Michael Jackson: The Remix Suite will feature retooled versions of Jackson 5 songs and solo hits.
By Jayson Rodriguez

Michael Jackson inspired a slew of singers to follow in his footsteps, but the Gloved One also left his indelible mark on a number of the music industry's top producers as well.

Some of the biggest producers in urban music will remix MJ's work for an upcoming Universal Motown project titled Michael Jackson: The Remix Suite. The 20-plus-song set will focus mainly on the Jackson 5 catalog of hits. A bundle of the songs were leaked last week, and Salaam Remi was among the first producers to rework the tunes with his reggae-flavored version of "ABC."

"That song was one of the first songs I remember hearing on my own," Remi told MTV News. "I think it came out around the time I was coming up as a kid. A remix ... it isn't just changing the music ... to me it's about reimagining the vibe. I wanted to do something that, when it pops up it makes you say, 'Wow.' And to feel like it could be performed that way, not like it was just glued together."

The sound for Remi's take was stored in his laptop for years. The frequent Nas collaborator worked on a previous Motown remix project a few years ago and in the process he started thinking about the Jackson 5's "ABC," one of his favorite tracks. When Universal Motown head Sylvia Rhone called him for this project, the producer said he immediately knew what song he was going to rework.

Dallas Austin ("I Wanna Be Where You Are") and the Neptunes ("Never Can Say Goodbye") are among the other musicians to take on some of the late pop icon's hits. Austin's (TLC, Pink) take on the classic Jackson 5 tune is quirky, with loopy synths; while the Neptunes "Never Can Say Goodbye" features the duo's space-age sound.

"This is my mom's favorite record," Pharrell ad-libs on the track. "I hope you don't mind me doing this."

New sets of remix suites will be released digitally in the coming weeks, according to the label. Producers such as Q-Tip, Ryan Leslie, Polow Da Don, Tricky Stewart and Stargate will each twist the studio knobs and rearrange some of Jackson's finest hits. Eventually the full collection of suites will be released as a complete project on October 27.
