Lil Wayne Is MTV News' #5 Man Of The Year

Eight-month jail stint couldn't keep Weezy from becoming a social-media king, ruling the airwaves and having his biggest year as a CEO.

OK, so, maybe Lil Wayne isn't a traditional candidate for a Man of the Year list. The Cash Money rhyme spitter didn't even spit that many new rhymes in 2010. Weezy was sent to jail in March for eight months on a gun rap and was unable to record new material, save for a phone freestyle he delivered for a remix to Drake's "Light Up." But prior to his imprisonment, the New Orleans MC worked harder than Tupac in his last days. At one point, Lil Wayne actually shot nine music videos (!!!) in one weekend.

But it was his work outside the recording booth where the Young Money Entertainment founder left his real mark over the past 12 months. His star signings Drake and Nicki Minaj fulfilled their potential as both dropped impressive debut albums allowing him to kick up his feet and play the CEO role. And Wayne went viral by signing up for Twitter and launching a blog from behind bars. #FreeWeezy, indeed.

2010 Highlights: In February, Wayne joined Drake, Kanye West and Eminem for a rousing — and highly censored — performance of "Forever" at the Grammys. Hours later, Weezy joined an all-star cast of musicians for the "We Are the World" remake to benefit Haiti earthquake victims. Then, just over a week later, he somehow found the energy to partake in a marathon day of shooting videos in Miami.

Lil Tunechi arrived in the land of Twitter to spread his message of love — then threatened to quit when fans didn't love him back. Sad face.

But life turned around for Lil Wayne in early March when he joined Young Jeezy onstage at Madison Square Garden after an NYC courthouse fire prevented the rapper from beginning his prison sentence. A week after turning himself in, Weezy's rock-leaning effort Rebirth was certified gold.

Wayne arrived online! The jailed rapper started WeezyThanxYou.com, a blog to help him interact with fans while he was confined at Rikers Island.

Diddy visited Lil Wayne in prison; the list of visitors to see the rapper read like a VIP guest list, including Drake, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj.

The hard-working wordsmith phoned an engineer and contributed a verse to Drake's "Light Up," dubbing himself the new Tupac. A month later, a new track by Wayne featuring Drake arrives, "Right Above It," the first release from the rapper's I Am Not a Human Being project, which also earned him a gold plaque.

Holdover material, however, couldn't compete with the real thing: Days after being released from prison, Wayne traveled to Las Vegas to surprise Drake and fans with his first performance since he took the stage with Jeezy.

Nicki Minaj Is MTV News' #5 Woman Of The Year

With her chart-busting Pink Friday debut, slew of collabos and signature style, Minaj became a game-changing force in2010.

In terms of running things in hip-hop, 2010 can be safely dubbed the year of Young Money. Even though YM general Lil Wayne was locked up for much of the final year of the decade, his protégés carried the camp's flag all the way to the top of charts, with Drake turning out major first-week sales and Lil Twist making his presence known on Twitter and on mixtapes.

But perhaps one of the biggest weapons in the YMCMB arsenal is their bewigged femcee Nicki Minaj, who not only changed the face of the female lyricist but proved she could more than hold her own with the big boys of rap -- no matter what some MCs may say.

2010 Highlights: This time last year, she was a Queens spitter being groomed by Weezy for mainstream dominance, but months later, she was lending her rollicking flow to records by everyone from Usher to Mariah Carey and building monster buzz for her forthcoming debut.

The rap diva entered the year with one of the most coveted co-signs in the game: a stamp of approval from Jay-Z. Hov suggested she drop some lyrics on crooner Robin Thicke's "Shakin' It 4 Daddy," and by February, she was vamping it up with pop superstar Mariah Carey in her crimson-themed romp of a video "Up Out My Face."

Minaj continued to build her presence on R&B joints, lacing Usher's "Lil Freak" with some bi-curious bars and turned up in the video in a two-toned wig and catsuit to seduce a pouty model.

By March, she and Drizzy hit the Madison Square Garden stage for the star-studded New York stop on Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 Tour and was hard at work on her debut visual, "Massive Attack."

Although the spitter spent much of 2010 cruising along the road to success, there were a few speed bumps, notably when her mentor Weezy headed to jail and when she decided to ditch Rihanna's Last Girl on Earth Tour. But the most high-profile drama erupted when Brooklyn MC Lil' Kim began accusing the Young Money Barbie of jacking her style without lavishing the appropriate props. While the "How Many Licks?" lyricist was kind of on her own in the Nicki bashing, Minaj handled the smack talk gracefully, calling for "positive energy" among women when she accepted her BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist.

After batting away rumors that she lip-synched her way through several energetic guest-spot performances at the BET Awards, Minaj proved her solo hitmaking prowess when the Annie Lennox-sampling jam "Your Love" shot to #1. The award nods kept coming, as Minaj picked up a Best New Artist nomination at the MTV Video Music Awards and she didn't let up with the scene-stealing collabos either, pretty much owning Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Friday joint "Monster," despite verses from heavy-hitters Jigga and Rick Ross.

As the drop date for Pink Friday neared, Minaj ramped up her big-deal status, turning out a colorful appearance at the VMA pre-show in September, and assailing the charts with hits like "Right Thru Me" and "Check It Out," which were each accompanied by inventive visuals.

When Friday finally rolled around in November, which featured a rowdy collabo with rap kingpin Eminem and a sexy-girl anthem with Rihanna, Minaj caused a level of consumer pandemonium that rivaled the blowout shopping date, taking over New York City and moving a robust 375,000 units.

By the time her rise to the top was chronicled in the November MTV News documentary "My Time Now," it was clear that everybody, even Regis Philbin, couldn't get enough Minaj.

We'll be rolling out our Top Five Men and Women of 2010 all week, until we unveil MTV News' Man and Woman of the Year on Friday. As always, we want to know what you think, so share your picks in the comments below!

Taylor Swift Turns 21!

MTV News takes a look at how singer will celebrate milestone birthday.
By Jocelyn Vena

2010 has been a massive year for Taylor Swift, who took home a number of awards, appeared in the blockbuster romantic comedy "Valentine's Day," and scored a chart-topping album with Speak Now.

And Monday (December 13), the pop-country chanteuse will officially turn 21 years old. And while we don't know what boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal might be getting her, we do have some idea what she might be doing on the big day.

With her birthday so close to Christmas, Swift revealed to MTV News back in October that she had big plans for the milestone birthday. She explained, "The plans for the 21st birthday probably are going to be winter-themed. I love winter. I love Christmas."

Swift, who admits she's not much of a party girl, will make sure the party is focused more on the season than her.

"When I was a little kid and I was growing up, they'd always have a Santa Claus guy show up and take everybody's wishes or what they wanted for Christmas. I'm not gonna do that, but there'll definitely be lots of Christmas-themed things," she revealed.

So, will that include some spiked eggnog? "Well, you know, legally, I could," she teased.

In an interview with People.com, she said she even has the perfect place for the party. "I'd really like to have it in my condo," she explained about throwing the bash in Nashville. "I think that would be wonderful."

While turning 21 means Swift can legally drink alcohol, that's not the main reason she's excited about the milestone birthday.

"It'll be cool that I'll be able to go to a lot of concerts that my friends always go to and I sit at home because it's 21 and over," she said. "Other than that, I don't think I'm going to all of a sudden start being in love with the idea of going to a club."

So, why doesn't Swift plan on partying too hard?

"Maybe I'll have a glass of wine, but nothing too hard-core for me. I've never had the burning desire to drink," she told Ladies Home Journal. "I need to be in control of what I say, and if I drank, I'd stress out about saying the wrong thing at the wrong time."

Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa And More Make Our Top Mixtapes Of 2010

Posted: 13 Dec 2010 03:52 AM PST

Waka Flocka Flame, Lloyd Banks, Wale and Fabolous also made game-changing street CDs, in Mixtape Daily's year-end awards.

From the looks of things over the past 12 months, the mixtape game has never been healthier.

In 2010, the standout projects and the MCs who helmed them took a page out of Drake's book from the previous year with So Far Gone, making mixtapes that were put together like albums with a majority of head-nodding original material populating the track lists.

Look no further than Rick Ross' Albert Anastasia EP, which featured "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)"; the song later landed on his proper LP and recently scored the #4 ranking in MTV News' Top 25 Songs of 2010 list powered by its appeal on the mixtape circuit.

Then there were upstarts like Big K.R.I.T., who delivered a stirring collection that was worthy of a debut album with his K.R.I.T. Wuz Here. The 19-song, self-produced set drew critical praise and eventually earned the Mississippi rhymer a deal with Def Jam Records.

As the music industry undergoes more changes and technology erases the line between the labels and the fans, look for more artists to innovate and take their projects (be they official or unofficial) straight to the interwebs (word to Lyor Cohen!).

The results could be promising: Fabolous' The Funeral Service: There Is No Competition 2 was so ill and embraced by the streets that Def Jam turned the mixtape into an EP.

Here, Mixtape Daily delivers the Top 10 (plus one) Mixtapes of 2010:

Lloyd Banks' V5
Street Testimony: "Just reflecting back in the studio," Banks revealed to Mixtape Daily about the inspiration behind his resurgence. "Just going back. People always say, 'Go back to your first album.' I went back further than that. All the success came from [my early mixtapes] Money in the Bank, Money in the Bank Part 2 all the way to Part 4. I was like, 'You know what? I did that in a matter of two years.' I said, 'I'mma do what I did in two years in one.' ... By the time I got to V5, it was a good five or six months between tapes. I didn't plan it like that. I just never stopped recording and touring. By the time V5 came, I felt a little pressure. I told them it was gonna get better every time. I think people embraced it."

Big K.R.I.T.'s K.R.I.T. Wuz Here
Street Testimony: "People can see the growth from when I first did my first project until now," K.R.I.T. told Mixtape Daily when we named him a Fire Starter in June. "And they can see the growth and me really finding myself as an artist. And really not compromising my creative mind frame for what's going on in the industry and just being myself and putting the music out. The first record is 'Return of 4eva.' It was really just telling the game we here on some Southern hip-hop and this is us. And this is the type of music that I'm gonna put out. And I just hope that people can relate to it and respect it."

Cam'ron and Vado's Boss of All Bosses 2.5
Street Testimony: "At first, it was like the lost tapes. Tracks that were throwaways. Then we added more flavor to it," Vado told us about the set. "What happened with the 2.5," Cam added, "we gave Drama maybe 25 songs [for Boss of All Bosses 2]. He was like, 'You might as well come back with 2.5 in two weeks.' But we were doing so much new music, we might as well call it 4.8. It's crazy. It's about 20 songs."

Fabolous' The Funeral Service: There Is No Competition 2
Street Testimony: "It's really incredible how people will connect with the work," Fab said to us during our Midseason Salute. "I think we put a lot of work into it, with the whole funeral theme. We didn't just say it and you had to daydream it. We went into the funeral homes. We picked caskets out for the competition. Def Jam, this summer, is gonna put the mixtape out as an EP. So I did about four new songs, put 'em with some of the original joints from the mixtape. We got more viral videos coming. We just gonna keep it going and let it end as the classic it is. A lot of people saying it's a classic, one of the, if not the best mixtape of 2010. It's crazy to me, because it started out as something I wanted to give free to the fans and people who accept my work. Def Jam even came in and said, 'Whoa, we gotta get a piece.' It's a good thing, man."

J. Cole's Friday Night Lights
Street Testimony: "I just tried to make the best project I could make," Cole told us over the phone days after he dropped FNL. "Pick the best songs, and some of those songs were songs I really had to bite the bullet and sacrifice and not put them on my album, 'cause I knew it would make the tape better. I had to figure out what songs I was willing to let go of and then make the best story, in terms of sequencing. It reminded me of when we were putting together The Warm Up. I'm just in a different place now. It was just time for new music."

Jadakiss' The Champ Is Here 3
Street Testimony: "The regular formula for the first two was drop the mixtape right when I finished the album," Jada told us when he previewed the project exclusively for Mixtape Daily. "I just shifted it on you this time: Give you the mixtape then go finish the album. Let you compare it with the albums that's coming out while I'm in the kitchen. It'll just be creating pandemonium everywhere instead of competing with my own album. It might be better to do it this way. We gonna keep switching it around. We might do another one this way, but we gonna switch the pattern up so they can't follow."

L.E.P. Bogus Boys' Don't Feed Da Killaz, Vol. 3
Street Testimony: "I penned the term 'quality street music' like five years ago, and it's good to see it's still alive," tape host DJ Drama told Mixtape Daily in October. "And normally, I tell you guys don't be afraid, don't be scared but, um, since we coming out on [Halloween], I think you should be scared."

Rick Ross' The Albert Anastasia EP
Street Testimony: "It's more than just an extended play," Ross explained to Mixtape Daily. "Because when I started recording and it was sounding too good, I wanted to put more songs in there than what I wanted to initially. But it'sThe Albert Anastasia EP. I named it that because Albert Anastasia was a self-made man. He was a boss. He was a lot less celebrated. He was more focused on getting his job done, handling his business. Of course, he ultimately came to an untimely demise. But I feel when it's time to go, it's always untimely, so what's the difference?"

Waka Flocka Flame's LeBron Flocka James 2
Street Testimony: "I'm not going lyrical, hard in the studio," Waka said about his rowdy rhymes. "It ain't time for me to do that. This ain't no album; this is my mixtapes. Why I gotta go spend 30 hours [writing rhymes] off of a mixtape? Then I got other people dissing me for saying that. You crazy. You giving me that much time out of 24 hours, you not doing your job. That's my word to you."

Wale's More About Nothing
Street Testimony: "That's why you hear that vigor and hunger in my voice while I'm rapping," Wale told Mixtape Daily about this project. "I was trying to go super crazy in the booth to let them know that the hunger is still there. It's to my label, the fans, to the doubters. I'm trying to prove myself. A lot of people try to reinvent themselves. I'm trying to define myself. It's almost like it was a rough draft of my mission statement before, but this is the final draft. If y'all didn't know who Wale was before, you know now. And the play on 'nothing' is that a lot of people are saying nothin', but we're saying somethin' now."

Wiz Khalifa's Kush & Orange Juice
Street Testimony: "I named the mixtape Kush & Orange Juice because, in a nutshell, I tried to match up a name that goes perfect with the tape," Wiz explained to us earlier this year. "It's perfect for wake-and-bake, if that's what you're into. Anybody who knows me knows that's what I specialize in. It came out Kush & Orange Juice. That's the formula. Fruits and vegetables. The tape is heavily inspired by all different types of herbs and wonderful green things that make us grow."

This year, when it came to staving off boredom on the Internet, people around the world turned to two videos: Justin Bieber's "Baby" and Auto-Tune the News aka the Gregory Brothers' "Bed Intruder Song." "Baby" was named the most-watched music video on YouTube, while "Bed Intruder" was dubbed the most watched video in the US and around the world.

Bieber's YouTube dominance is not that surprising considering the kid took over many corners of the Internet in 2010, sparring with Lady Gaga for Twitter followers and picking up three percent of all of the website's traffic. Add that to the sold-out shows, platinum certifications and global outbreak of Bieber fever, and it makes sense that "Baby," which at press time had over 408 million views, topped the list of most-watched YouTube music videos.

In a year of double rainbows and annoying oranges, one meme reigned supreme: "Bed Intruder Song." The Gregory Brothers, who often revamp clips with Auto-Tuned vocals, saw a potential hit in Antoine Dodson's sassy interview with a Huntsville, Alabama NBC affiliate about stopping the attempted rape of his sister. The bouncy track even landed on iTunes and garnered Dodson instant fame. Even Hayley Williams, New Found Glory and Reliant K gave the digital smash a punk-rock treatment.

Other major-label music videos that scored tons of clicks on the user-generated content site are Shakira featuring Freshlyground "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" which was #2 and Rihanna's "Rude Boy" at #5. Eminem showed up twice with "Love the Way You Lie" and "Not Afraid" at #3 and #4, respectively. Bieber has four visuals total on the list, with "Never Say Never" at #6, "Never Let You Go" at 7 and "Somebody to Love (Remix)" with Usher at #9. Gaga's "Alejandro" was #8 and her romp with Beyoncé, "Telephone," landed at #10.

The most-watched YouTube videos worldwide included a parody of Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" by Key of Awe$ome #13, Greyson Chance singing Gaga's "Paparazzi," Annoying Orange "Wazzup," "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" trailer and Hungrybear9562's emotional "Yosemitebear Mountain Giant Double Rainbow 1-8-10."

"The most-watched YouTube videos of 2010 reflect the people, places and events that captured our attention and imagination throughout the year," YouTube Community Manager Mia Quagliarello said in a statement. "YouTube has become the world's town square — a place where culture is created and shared. It's a sign of YouTube's growing importance as a platform for content creation that six of the top 10 most-watched videos globally were made-for-YouTube originals."

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are officially husband and wife.

The couple, who began dating four years ago and have two children together, tied the knot Saturday at the Los Angeles home of soul singer Lionel Richie, the bride's father, according to People. An array of stars helped the couple celebrate their nuptials, including No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani, celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson and Madden's twin and Good Charlotte bandmember, Benji.

People also reports another unique guest made an impression at the wedding: the affair apparently included a trained elephant that was seen being led to the wedding site. According to UsMagazine.com, Reverend Run presided over the ceremony. A source told People the pair were going for "an Old Hollywood glamorous feel to the wedding."

The duo have a son, Sparrow, and a daughter, Harlow, together and announced earlier this year that they were ready to head down the aisle. Madden took to Twitter to announce the news in February.

"Yep. I'm engaged. Very happy," he said. "Yeah, we've been engaged for a while, so you're all kind of late on that. But thanks for the hoopla all the same."

While Madden turned to social media to inform fans of the engagement, Richie went to late-night TV, confirming to David Letterman that she and Madden were slated to swap vows.

"We actually recently are engaged, yes," Richie said.

In 2008, Madden told MTV News that becoming a family man has affected his approach to music, and he is more conscious of the image he presents to his fanbase.

"It's definitely made me think about my fans a little more, because they're people's kids, so I care what they think," he said. "And I care what I'm saying to them, because I want people to think about what they're saying to my child. ... So it makes me care about what I'm doing a little bit more. And it makes you think about other people too."

'Tron Legacy ' Star Garrett Hedlund Calls Movie 'Incredible Experience'

'It's such a high-tech adventure,' actor tells MTV News on the film's blue carpet.

"Tron" was an eye-popping technological extravaganza when it first hurtled into theaters in 1982 with its speeding light cycles and gaming imagery. The film eventually proved to be so influential — spawning video games and a whole "Tron"-obsessed subculture in its wake — that Disney circled back to the project for the 2010 sequel "Tron Legacy."

For Garrett Hedlund, who plays Sam Flynn, the son of software engineer Kevin (portrayed in both movies by Jeff Bridges), the latest take on the project is still an impressive spectacle that ramps up the potently mind-scrambling imagery. Hedlund revealed his thoughts to MTV News about the seeing the final product for the first time on the blue carpet at the elaborate "Tron Legacy" premiere Saturday.

"I saw it couple weeks ago when I was in Montreal, but only with a couple pals and on a smaller Technicolor screen. But even then it was an incredible experience. It's such a high-tech adventure," Hedlund said. "It's undoubtedly like anything I've ever seen before, and I think the loss for words on it is the best part of it and I can't wait to see it again."

Even though Hedlund has a role in bringing the digital wizardry of the franchise to a new generation — in addition to getting a high-profile, career-boosting gig from the project — he said he was most excited to see "Tron" filmmaker Steven Lisberger revel in the enduring influence of his groundbreaking movie nearly three decades later.

"That's where I'm so happy for Steven Lisberger. Something he created around 28 years ago and this wild maniacal story has come to fruition 28 years later in such an unbelievable way," he said. "To see him walking with his family and enjoying this with all of us and being there when we're filming with all of us and sort of being the godfather on set, I'm more proud of him in this very moment."

Paul McCartney, Paul Rudd Buddy Up On 'Saturday Night Live'

Beatles legend and 'How Do You Know' star team up for a digital short on NBC hit.

"Saturday Night Live" this week was packed with Pauls, from a rock icon to a newbie comedian. Second-time host Paul Rudd played up the plethora of fellas with the name during his opening monologue, claiming credit for the fan mania that was clearly the result of rock legend Paul McCartney's on-set presence as musical guest. Rudd smugly remarked about a woman crying and people chanting "Yesterday," until the Beatles icon appeared onstage to clear up the brouhaha. Featured "SNL" player Paul Brittain also briefly joined the Paul-fest.

For the most part, the two stuck to what they're each known for, with Rudd dishing out the laughs and McCartney serving up the music. In one sketch, Rudd brings his girlfriend home for the holidays to meet his super affectionate family members who make out and grope each other to the horror of his gal pal.

Rudd also turned up as a gay man who heads to a relationship expert's talk show for advice, only to get ridiculed by her stodgy, ignorant producer who had to fill in because she was sick.

The "How Do You Know" star also competed in the faux game show "What's That Name," handily identifying pop-culture figures like Subway spokesman Jared Fogel, but fumbling when faced with naming his doorman of four years.

Rudd also flexed his comedic chops as a nerdy math teacher tasked with mounting a holiday party for students and ends up geekifying the whole affair by dropping zingers like "off the hoof" and "elf esteem."

Rudd and McCartney did cross paths once again in the digital short "Stumblin' " in which Andy Samberg and Rudd play buddies who stagger through life, always seconds away from falling over outright. McCartney inexplicably pops up mid-segment in a ruffled blouse and velvet blazer to croon '80s ballad "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin. Then he whips out a miniscule harmonica, dons cowboy gear and goes to town with Rudd and Samberg cheering him on.

McCartney confined the goofiness to the Samberg skit, taking the stage first with "Jet" from Wings' 1973 Band on the Run LP. The rock luminary strummed the straightforward jam, bopping along in a purple blazer, and adding a flourish of a boogie-woogie dance at the end. McCartney followed up with another Wings hit, "Band on the Run," for his second performance, ditching the blazer for skinny red suspenders and punctuating the set with guttural howls.

It appears that fantasy trumped finesse at the weekend box office.

The whimsical "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" beat the sleek espionage thriller "The Tourist." The third installment of the classic book series' reimagining onscreen rang up $24.5 million in theaters over the weekend.

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp's sexy caper through Paris and Venice, "The Tourist," arrived in second place. Despite the 'incredible chemistry' between the screen stars director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck spoke to MTV News about, Jolie and Depp's rapport was not enough to overtake the fanciful adventure and technological brawn of "Narnia," making $17 million its debut weekend.

Disney's "Rapunzel" revamp, "Tangled." continued to charm audiences, finishing the weekend in the third-place slot. The movie, which boasts voiceover performances from Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, scored $14.6 million its third week on screens. The flick's total estimated tally now stands about $115 million.

In a top-five lineup big on big-budget fantasy flicks, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" continued to stack box-office cash, coming in fourth place. The seventh film in the "Potter" series nabbed another $8.5 million over the weekend. The figure nudges the movie's total estimated gross to a lofty $257 million.

"Unstoppable" refused to quit at the box office, maintaining a top-five presence during its fifth week in theaters. The Denzel Washington vehicle picked up around $3.8 million over the weekend. The film's total estimated haul now stands at about $74 million.

Ronnie, Sammi, Vinny Look Back On 'When I Was 17'

'Jersey Shore' castmembers remember first-time smushing and dodging the cops on latest episode.
By Mawuse Ziegbe

The residents of "Jersey Shore" have become pop-culture sensations with their club antics and beach-house brawls. On the latest episode of "When I Was 17," three of the castmembers revealed they've always had penchant for walking on the wild side.

Ronnie broke down the rowdy circumstances surrounding the first time he had sex, which happened with a stranger in the back seat of a Camry.

"It just happened randomly," he said. "[I was] hanging out on the corner with my friend and some girl walks up to him and she's like, 'Your friend's hot. I wanna hook up.' We went to go find a nice quiet spot ... literally down the block."

Ron Ron's friends even watched his very first smush from a car parked behind him and his lady. The beefy Bronx native also explained his back-seat lovin' technique.

"I just pretty much did the head tuck. You tuck your head in between her head and her shoulders and you just like 1, 2, 3, 4. Like three pumps ... and you're done," he said. "It's awesome."

Ron's on-and-off girlfriend Sammi also got into some outdoor shenanigans when she was a teen, choosing the wrong night to swipe her sister's favorite jeans to attend a party that ended up being raided by the police. When she went to make a break for it by hopping a fence, the jeans didn't survive the getaway attempt.

"I go to jump over the fence, and I hear [a ripping noise]," she said. "Literally, my sister's pants split."

But maybe getting busted by the cops would have been less stressful, as her sister chewed her out for destroying her denim. "She was screaming at me," Sammi said. "We were screaming at each other. Not a good time."

While Ronnie and Sammi were having wild times outdoors, Vinny was bringing the animal kingdom indoors. "When I Was 17" airs Saturdays at 11 a.m. on MTV
