50 Cent: 'You Shouldn't Hold Your Breath' For Game Collaboration

50 Cent says that he's not following in Dr. Dre's footsteps. Dre recently worked with the Game in the studio — but Fif says that just because Game and Dre are on the same page musically, it doesn't mean he's welcoming back the former G-Unit member.

"You shouldn't really hold your breath," 50 said about him and Game collaborating again. "If Dre decides to work with him, that's Dre's prerogative — his album, he can do what he wants. He's Dre."

A photo recently appeared on the Internet showing Dre, Snoop and the Game in the lab, with Game tweeting about the session for Detox.

"They needed me to get in contact with Game," Snoop said recently on L.A.'s "Big Boy's Neighborhood" radio show. "I had the number in my phone. I shot it that way — once Game came through, he and Dre hollered. They have a great relationship."

Back in July, Game said he was open to patching things up with the G-Unit.

"Jimmy [Iovine] always says, 'Man, I told you guys not to break up the Beatles,' " Game said. "He says he told John Lennon the same thing a long time ago. But I was young, man. I was dumb. I did a lot of dumb things. I felt me and 50 clashed. I'm not gonna dis 50. I'm not gonna go back on the plane. He had his side, I had my side. I did what I felt was necessary for me and my career to have longevity and survive in hip-hop and music to be around when I'm Quincy Jones' age — not just be Quincy Jones' age, but be a Quincy Jones. Now, four albums in, I can honestly say from Banks to Buck to Dre to Yayo to whoever, if it would have kept going, endless paper. Millions of albums sold — because we were great together. Me and 50's chemistry was like how Method Man was to Redman when they get in. You know when Method Man gets with Redman, it's going down."

LAS VEGAS — When it comes to attracting big names for charity, Justin Timberlake has no trouble. Saturday night in Las Vegas saw the wide reach of JT's star power, with a diverse lineup of artists from Snoop Dogg to Taylor Swift taking part in his second annual Justin Timberlake & Friends Concert, benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino. While last year's show boasted many onstage collaborations, Justin had high hopes for this year's event — which included the aforementioned Doggfather and country queen, plus Alicia Keys, TLC, Timbaland, Ciara and Jay Sean.

"There were a lot of acts this year that weren't able to get here till today, so there weren't as many collabs as I had in my brain," Timberlake told MTV News during rehearsals. "But I think that's always the case, it's kind of like [when] you do an album and you write, like, 40 songs, and then 12 of them make it. ... But still, just having everyone out and getting to see them do their set — there are a couple of things that have never been performed onstage. There's a new song from [Timbaland] tonight, from his record that we did together. I think Snoop's doing a new song from his new record. So it's kinda cool for them too, because it's like perfect test marketing."

The night saw Justin wearing many hats (including a fedora) — acting as emcee, performer and maestro. He even kept the crowd updated with the Yankees/Angels score in between sets. But the fans were there for music, and they sure got their money's worth.

Jay Sean kicked off the night's performances, accompanied by U.K. beatbox champion MC Zani. The duo took a different take on the British singer's current hit, "Down," starting off with a beatbox intro and acoustic guitar, until launching into a full version of the song with Justin's band — which served as the house band for the whole evening.

Next up was Taylor Swift, and Justin assured everyone that there would be no Kanye-style stage crashing on his watch. "Don't worry, guys, I got security on the sides, so no one can come up and ruin her set," Timberlake told the crowd.

As soon as Swift hit the opening notes of "You Belong With Me," she had the crowd on their feet. Her raucous set was full of hair tosses and hip swings, impressive for the silver dress she performed in, dripping with what looked like diamonds. Her set got even more dazzling when she strapped on a shimmery acoustic guitar for "Love Story."

Justin introduced the next artist as "one of the greatest musicians of my generation." Alicia Keys then strutted across the stage in a stunning pair of red pumps, and took a seat at her piano to belt out "Doesn't Mean Anything." After the song, Alicia addressed the crowd.

"I wanna tell you a little about myself, where I'm from," she said, launching into the hook from "Empire State of Mind" then going right into "Fallin'," which sounded even more impressive with the house band's backup singers. The Mandalay Bay Events Center could barely contain the energy.

For the next performance, JT told the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen, asses up, give it up for the one and only, legendary T-L-C!" Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas' first performance in six years sent the crowd into a frenzy, as the duo tore through a barrage of hits — "FanMail," "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," "What About Your Friends," "Baby Baby Baby," "Creep," "Waterfalls" and "No Scrubs." While founding member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes is no longer with us, her presence was still in the room as her vocals were filled in by live performance footage on the screen.

The next performance brought the night's first on-stage collaboration. After Justin got the crowd moving to "Señorita," he welcomed Ciara onstage for "Love Sex Magic." The crowd stayed on their feet for the rest of Ciara's set — "Goodies" and "1, 2 Step."

Next up was Snoop Dogg, who performed "Drop It Like It's Hot," "What's My Name" and new single "Gangsta Love." Continuing the night's collaborations, Snoop told the crowd, "Since my homeboy Justin asked me to come out here tonight, I'm gonna ask him to come out right now." The guys broke into "Signs," doing a little two-step action.

Justin took the reins, jumping into a medly of "Summer" and "Chop Me Up," with Timbaland coming out to do his verse on "Chop." Tim stayed on stage for "Give It to Me," which had girls spilling into the aisles to dance. The duo then broke into the brand-new song that Justin had promised, the title of which they never announced. It features an anthemic chorus with the lyrics "Turn me on now" and a breakdown that repeats "What's your name?/ What's your number?/ I'm glad I came, so you can take my order."

Two hours into the show, it was time for Justin to take over. JT launched into an acrobatic mash-up of hits — both his and other artists'. It started with an acoustic rendition of "Like I Love You," then transitioned to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" during the "Like I Love You" chorus. Next was Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody," mixed with the lyrics of "Cry Me a River," then going back to the KOL chorus. "Lovestoned" followed, blended with Coldplay's "Viva la Vida."

The night seemingly was coming to an end as Justin sat down at a piano for a heartfelt performance of "What Goes Around ... /... Comes Around," but although he announced it was his last song, he changed his mind.

"I'm in the mood," he told the Vegas crowd. He shouted to his band to freestyle on the next song, and they settled on "Until the End of Time."

The show ended just shy of midnight, capping off another successful year for Justin and his charity. Honors are especially due for Justin's bandmembers, who spent nearly three hours on stage backing up the night's performers.

Stephanie Pratt, one of the stars of "The Hills," was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Sunday morning in Hollywood.

Police said Pratt, 23, was arrested at around 3:45 a.m. outside a nightclub in Los Angeles and taken into custody, with bail set at $5,000, according to Sergeant Mark Cohan of the Los Angeles Police Department. Before her arrest, Pratt was reportedly out with some fellow "Hills" stars at Empire, celebrating Holly Montag's 26th birthday.

Pratt was released with a ticket later Sunday morning and was not required to post bail but will return for a court hearing, according to a spokesperson at the Van Nuys Division, where Pratt was held.

Shortly before heading out to the club, Pratt tweeted, "It's my sissy @hollymontags bday party! Just finished dinner and going to Empire but I'm pretty tired aka yes i am the party pooper :("

Cohan said that he did not know the circumstances of the arrest and could not say whether Pratt was pulled over for another violation or if the stop was DUI-related.

Pratt was arrested in Hawaii in May of 2006, along with Hannah Owens-Bender, daughter of the director of ABC's "Lost," for second-degree theft and drug violations.

Pratt has spoken in the past about her struggles with bulimia and self-esteem issues, as well as her battles with substance abuse.

A rep for Pratt had not responded to MTV News' request for comment at press time.

'It's kinda like the final chapter in my issuing music to the streets,' he tells Mixtape Daily.

You can feel that Nipsey Hussle is destined to do some great things in this rap game. At least we feel so. He's been embraced by fans from coast to coast, and his big homies from the West, Snoop Dogg and the Game, have been showing him love since he came in the game a couple of years back. You love his mixtape series Bullets Ain't Got No Names? Soak it up now — this is the last dance. He's cooling down from mixtapes to transition into albums. His debut is due in 2010.

This Week's Main Pick

Street King: Nipsey Hussle

Holding It Down For: L.A.

Mixtape: Bullets Ain't Got No Names, Vol. 3

Real Spit: Nipsey is right at home on 10th Avenue (not too far from Crenshaw), shooting his segment for Mixtape Daily. This is where he grew up and the place he won't turn his back on.

"I ain't really left yet," he said of the area. "I live somewhere else, but outta habit, outta convenience, how my foundation was structured, I'm still over here. My loved ones are still over here. I feel like when I do come back [to the neighborhood], I bring opportunity. I'm not ballin' out of control, but I bring opportunity back. Not just 'cause it's cliché, but because I got loved ones that got potential to do other things than be in the street."

Nip has used the streets as a pathway to greater things.

"It's kinda like the final chapter in my issuing music to the streets, music that I specially tailor-made to give away to my fans and establish my sound of hip-hop," he explained of the third and possibly final installment of his Bullets Ain't Got No Names series. "I kinda wanted to fill in the blanks of [parts] 1 and 2 and just do the records I felt I needed that I didn't have yet on part 1 and 2. That's how I came into the game and established my buzz and fanbase off of the mixtapes. I just wanted to say what I didn't say on 1 and 2. Keeping consistent but showing growth, showing where I'm at; fresh off tour, about to drop the official album."

Joints to Check For

» "Rap Music" (featuring June Summers). "It [comes] late in the mixtape," Nip explained. "I think it's [track] 17 or 18. It's talking about what rap music means to me. Me wanting to get into it as a kid and chasing it into a career choice and me becoming semi-successful and breaking myself as an artist. It's also about how I changed my life and music gave me an outlet. I never finished high school — not saying that's a badge of honor or it means something to your credibility, because it don't. That's to say that as far as positioning in the real world, I didn't have a high school diploma, I didn't go to trade school, so other than being in the streets and getting money off these corners, we ain't really had no other viable options. We could've got little chump-change, minimum-wage jobs, but we didn't want those. We got egos. It's featuring my homeboy June Summers."

» "The Hustler's Way." "That's me in an autobiographical record," he explained. "How I do things. My name is Nipsey Hussle, everything I do is planned, strategized. I talk about my reality before the rap music was a viable means to me to get money. The cause and effect of what they see of us out here. The way we react. It ain't an aggressive record; it's more an introspective record."

» "You Gotta Take It" (featuring Lloyd). "It's featuring Lloyd," Hussle said. "That's my homeboy. That record is how the hook say: 'Never let them knock you off your grind.' That record is about how you gotta take it if you wanna make it. The hook sums it up. You gonna have setbacks. Some people look at 'em as brick walls; I look at them as speed bumps. After I got my deal, I got cracked and went to jail. I didn't have no bail. By the grace of God, I beat my case. I got out and kept grinding."

Will Jackson Rathbone's 100 Monkeys Appear On 'Eclipse' Soundtrack?

'It's been talked about,' Rathbone says of including his band's tunes on the soundtrack of the third 'Twilight' installment.

BOSTON — Unlike the "Twilight" soundtrack, the collection for "New Moon" — which hit stores Friday — did not include any music created by actors in the film. For those who remember, "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke pushed for the songs "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign" by Robert Pattinson to be included in the film.

But as many Twi-hards know, Pattinson isn't the only star from the saga with musical talent. Fellow vampire Jackson Rathbone has a band as well, 100 Monkeys, who were recently announced to be creating the soundtrack for his indie film "Girlfriend." Not to be outdone by Pattinson, Rathbone shared with us that his group would also submit songs for potential inclusion on the "Eclipse" soundtrack.

"It's been talked about, but it's one of those things," Rathbone said when asked if he had been approached to have songs on the previous soundtracks. "We're going to be kind of giving some of our songs off of our upcoming album for them to see if they want to put on 'Eclipse.' "

Earlier this year, Rathbone talked with MTV about having a song on the "New Moon" soundtrack.

"We'd love it," Rathbone said. "[But] we're not really pushing for it. It's one of those things where if they want to put our song on the album, I'm not going to complain."

When we talked to him on the set of "Girlfriend," he echoed similar sentiments.

"It's one of those things that we're not really pressing for it, because we just love making music. We love playing live and we just have so much fun doing it, that for us it's all about the performance and not so much the marketing," he said.

To some, the chance to have their music exposed on what is expected to be a huge blockbuster like next summer's "Eclipse" would not be something to be taken lightly, but Rathbone was more concerned about pleasing his fans than money or fame.

"We believe in any marketing that we do, we give all the marketing to the fans because it's what they want," he said, referencing a contest 100 Monkeys will be having on their Web site that will allow the fans to vote on the cities they want the band to perform in. "They're supporting us. Without them we'd be living on bread and water alone."
