Lil Wayne had a son last year, another in September with actress Lauren London, and he's expecting another son soon with singer Nivea. He's the hardest-working man in hip-hop in any number of ways.

"What's rest?" Wayne recently told the BBC's Tim Westwood when asked how he makes time for everything. "We don't need no rest around here. I'm 27 years old. I'll rest when I retire."

Weezy also told Westwood that, contrary to reports, he's not putting out his Tha Carter IV and his long-delayed Rebirth albums simultaneously as a double-disc.

"They're pushing for that," Wayne said of his record label. "I ain't trying to give it to them like that. It won't be given like that, trust me. It won't be given like that. Tha Carter IV deserves Tha Carter IV and that's that.

"The Rebirth may come as a double with the Young Money All-Star disc," he added. "It may be the Young Money All-Star and Rebirth."

Of course, Wayne's releasing a new mixtape, No Ceiling, somewhere in there as well.

Wayne, some of his Young Money clique and the Birdman are currently in the U.K. on tour. Before Wayne's comments to the BBC, Birdman had told the U.K.'s Hip-Hop Chronicle that all three albums would drop on the same day in December.

"We coming with Tha Carter IV and Rebirth, it's gonna be a double disc — and the Young Money album, all in the same day: December 15. My album and Jay Sean's album come out November 24.

"They think it's rock, to me it's a little more heavy metal, but it's still Wayne and he's doing his thing on that muthaf---a," Birdman continued about Rebirth.

A rep for Wayne's label confirmed that the Young Money album is scheduled for a December release but did not confirm dates for Wayne's albums.

Young Money currently have the record "Bedrock" out on mixshow rotation. That track features Lloyd.

Lil Boosie had a chance to get out and promote himself as well as party with his friends Webbie and Young Jeezy during BET Hip-Hop Awards weekend in Atlanta a few days ago.

Boosie doesn't have too much time left before he goes to prison. As part of plea bargain stemming from weapons-possession and drug charges, the Louisiana MC has to take a break from the limelight.

"I gotta go away for, like, 10 months to a year," Boosie said in ATL. "It's just a minor setback for a major comeback. I was gonna take 'em to trial, but I'm not gonna take them to trial. They offered me a deal. In Louisiana, you can't really win, bruh. So I'm gonna do my year, come back home, step it up even more. I leave on November 9."

Although Boosie's latest LP, Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz, was just released last month, he's already finished his next LP.

"I turned in the album this Tuesday to Warner Bros. It's gonna be called Free at Last," he said. "It'll drop the week I come home. It's gonna be crazy. Crazy, man."

Young Jeezy and B.G. appear on the album, but Boosie said most of the tracks feature just him. "I done shot four or five videos already," he revealed. "We're gonna pace them as I go in. It's official."

Before Free at Last's run, Superbad is getting its just due. "Missing You" is a strong contender to be that album's next single.

Drake Insists He's Not Dissing Tupac On 'Fear'

'I was 9 when that happened, so it didn't really affect me,' MC says of Shakur's death.

Drake said, unequivocally, he isn't dissing Tupac Shakur on "Fear." He's just pointing out that he was too young to fully feel the impact of the music icon at the time of his passing.

"I never cried when 'Pac died," Drake raps on the song from his So Far Gone EP. "But I probably will when Hov does/ And if my tears hold value, then I would drop one for every single thing he showed us/ And I'll be standing in a puddle."

Recently calling in from Toronto, Drake explained his lines.

"A lot of people also sort of don't understand the meaning of that line," Drake said. "It's not necessarily that I don't love West Coast hip-hop or that I don't love 'Pac now that I'm 22, but that line was just said to show how new I am to hip-hop. And like I said, I was 9 when that happened, so it didn't really affect me. But that song in general was just one of those things that took awhile to finish because it was an opportunity to say a lot of the things on my mind. That always feels good as a rapper, when you can get your thoughts out."

Billboard recently reported that the first single from Drake's debut LP, Thank Me Later, will be "Shut It Down," featuring The-Dream. The song won't drop until January.

"It's sexy. It's slow, but there's an energy to it," he told Billboard. "I rap on it. Me and Dream both sing on it. It's cool. It also has a message that's never really been explored by male singers. This song is sort of like an anthem for women, like pre-the club. It's like an anthem for you to be at your house with your girlfriends getting ready, what you listen to before you get there. It's a song for the non-famous woman to make her feel special and just to let you know that even though I'm up here and have the option to mingle with these 'upper-echelon' women, if you will, that sometimes I'd rather be with the girl from back home or a student or a girl that works at Wal-Mart. They don't have to be a star or rich or anything like that; that's kind of the gist of the song. It's an empowering song for all women."

Avril Lavigne filed for divorce from Sum 41's Deryck Whibley last week, according to case summary obtained by MTV News. The pair had been married for three years.

The news does not come as a surprise, as Lavigne posted on her MySpace page September 17 that they had separated. According to TMZ, the documents state that Lavigne cited "irreconcilable differences" and that the couple separated September 4. The documents also reportedly state that Lavigne is not asking for spousal support.

In her post last month, Lavigne wrote: "Deryck and I have been together for six-and-a-half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."

Lavigne concluded the message by thanking her family, friends and fans for their support.

The message (which was titled "Moving forward on a positive note") confirmed speculation that had run rampant in recent months that the couple's marriage was on the rocks. Earlier on September 17, Us Weekly ran a story that cited a source as saying Lavigne had "dumped" Whibley and forced him to move out of their Bel Air, California, mansion, adding that "divorce papers will be filed any day now."

Lavigne and Whibley were married in July 2006 in a non-denominational ceremony held at a private estate in Montecito, California, and their partnership quickly extended into the field of music, as Whibley played on and produced parts of Lavigne's last album, 2007's The Best Damn Thing, and was reportedly working with her on the follow-up to that record.

Taylor Swift writes a lot of songs about love and dudes who have done her wrong. And these days, she thinks she's better off unattached. In case you haven't noticed, she's a little too busy for a guy.

"For me, I've never been a boyfriend girl, where I've always got a boyfriend," she told Oprah Winfrey on her talk show Wednesday (October 14). "I was about 15 when I had my first boyfriend. We were together for a year. As far as relationships, that's me making an exception ... 'cause I'm better single. I feel like if I were to meet the right person, I'd make time for it."

Swift didn't have much to say about the Kanye West VMA incident, but she did tell Oprah that she had accepted West's apology and that her mom had spoken to him about it at the show. She credited her parents for helping her become the grounded 19-year-old she is today.

"I feel like being raised by two parents who basically brought me up with the idea that the world didn't owe me anything really helped," she said. "My whole life, I just loved music and I'd see these people on big stages, and I didn't think I could actually do that."

That love for music has made her a superstar, and she said being famous is better than she thought it would be. "Nothing in my life now, as far as activities and the way people perceive me, it's not normal and it's a lot different. ... It's better," she said. "I always dreamed about what it would be like if I would walk in somewhere and people already knew my songs, and it's crazy. ... It's amazing to me that it actually happened."

Captain Lou Albano And MTV: A History

The wrestler and manager was a pop-culture visionary who merged the worlds of wrestling and music.

Professional-wrestling fans the world over are mourning the passing of Captain Lou Albano. Though he was beloved among wrestling fans as an in-ring entertainer in various roles as a wrestler, manager and announcer, his main claim to crossover fame was as an ambassador who bridged the worlds of music and wrestling — a relationship that helped Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Federation (now Entertainment) to become a dominant national force in the 1980s and solidified Albano's place on the pop-culture map.

Not surprisingly, a lot of Albano's work in the music world saw a crossover with MTV. The network has always had a friendly relationship with professional wrestling, airing various pieces of WWE programming over the past few decades (including the reality show "Tough Enough" and the recap show "Sunday Night Heat"). Albano was a centerpiece of two early shows that aired on the network.

Having met and made friends with Cyndi Lauper, Albano dreamed up the idea of a movement that was dubbed the "Rock N' Wrestling Connection," which manifested in a series of crossover events that saw the two worlds collide. Albano appeared in Lauper's video for "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" in 1983, and she subsequently began appearing on wrestling television. In one such segment, Lauper took offense to Albano calling her "a broad," so they decided to settle their differences in a match that saw them each supporting a female wrestler.

The resulting show, dubbed "The Brawl to End It All," aired live on MTV in the summer of 1984 and featured a main-event match that pitted Wendi Richter (representing Lauper) against the Fabulous Moolah (cornered by Albano) for the Women's Championship. MTV News also hosted a lead-in show, which saw VJ Allen Hunter's interview with Albano and Lauper devolve into a staged brawl.

The relationship between Albano and Lauper continued: He appeared in Lauper's videos for "She Bop," "Time After Time" and "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough." In the lead-up to the first Wrestlemania in 1985, MTV again hosted a high-profile match, this time pitting superstar Hulk Hogan against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. The show, broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City, ended with Piper assaulting Lauper. Mr. T intervened, which led to the main event of the first Wrestlemania two months later.

Albano was responsible for much of the WWF's crossover success, because he understood that music and pro wrestling could co-exist in synergistic ways. He also understood television: In behind-the-scenes footage unearthed by MTV News, Albano can be seen directing crewmembers, explaining exactly how to get the most out of the footage of the brawl they were about to stage. A savvy businessman and a natural entertainer, Albano not only helped the WWF but also gave a nice assist to MTV, as in the early days of the network, wrestling-related programming scored it record ratings and helped further establish its anything-goes attitude.

Lil Wayne Confirms He And Nivea Are Expecting A Son

Lil Wayne recently confirmed in an interview with the BBC's Tim Westwood that he and R&B singer Nivea are expecting a son.

If all goes well, the baby will be Lil Wayne's third son to be born in just over a year. He and actress Lauren London welcomed a baby boy last month, and in October of last year, while accepting a BET Hip-Hop Award, Wayne announced to the crowd he was expecting his first son in a matter of days.

Wayne did not provide many details about the impending birth in the BBC interview.

"Two girls pregnant at the same time?" Westwood said. "Congratulations."

Wayne responded "Three," before clarifying his remark for Westwood, who thought the rapper meant he'd gotten three women pregnant at the same time.

"I mean [I'll have] three sons," he explained.

When Wayne was asked if Nivea was expecting, he responded, "Yessir."

The casual announcement was similar to Wayne's confirmation of London's pregnancy, which he also revealed during a radio interview, with Los Angeles' Power 106.

Rumors of Nivea's pregnancy have been rampant for months (the singer and former husband The-Dream filed for separation in December of 2007), but no official comment emerged. In a recent clip that appeared online, a visibly pregnant Nivea participated in a baby shower — judging by appearances, the baby is due soon.

A representative for Lil Wayne had no comment when contacted by MTV News; a rep for Nivea was unable to be reached at press time.

The baby will be Lil Wayne's fourth child, although information about the children and their mothers is sparse.

In addition to his son with London and the son that was born last year (to an unidentified mother), the rapper has an older daughter, Reginae, with his ex-wife Antonia "Toya" Carter.

Ashanti Says It Was 'Great' Performing With Ja Rule At VH1's 'Hip-Hop Honors'

Ashanti and Ja Rule were among the many who took to the stage during VH1's "Hip Hop Honors" celebration that paid tribute to Def Jam Records.

The former standout stars on the label performed their hit, "Down A-- Chick." Together they ruled the charts during their Def Jam run, scoring hits from both of their albums separately and in collaboration. So reuniting for the festivities wasn't a hard thing to do, according to Ashanti.

"It's been great," she told MTV News before the show. "I haven't performed with Ja since — I can't even remember it's been so long. We talked to each other on the phone and we said, 'Yo, we gonna make it hot! It's gonna be like old times.' It feels good. When we did the rehearsal, the chemistry was there."

Next up the songstress is readying a new album, her first since parting ways with Irv Gotti and Murder Inc. Records earlier this year. The untitled project is slated for release next year on her own Written Entertainment imprint, she said.

For her forthcoming album, her fifth overall, Ashanti said she's working with a mix of new and familiar faces, including the writer behind her last album's biggest hit, "The Way That I Love You."

"I've been working with a lot of people," she said. "These new producers, The American Dream, Warren Campbell, L.T. [Hutton] again, who did my last single. So it's been good."

In May Irv Gotti confirmed to MTV News that Ashanti would be parting ways with the Inc. The move was expected after her last album, The Declaration, was put together with little input from her former label head. Gotti said it's no longer possible for the pair to create music.

"The relationship has run its course," Gotti explained at the time.

"The chemistry of what's needed — we're in two totally different places. You're talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up."

'Where The Wild Things Are' Soundtrack Was A 'Playful' Process, Karen O Says

Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer says she and director Spike Jonze are 'kids trapped in adult bodies.'

Karen O is a busy woman. It's time-consuming enough being the singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but she is also responsible for the soundtrack to "Where the Wild Things Are," the highly anticipated Spike Jonze adaptation of the classic book.

Though she had never provided music for a film before, she told MTV News that Jonze was an ideal collaborator. "We're both like kids trapped in adult bodies," she said on the red carpet at Tuesday night's "Where the Wild Things Are" premiere in New York. "It was really playful. He just told me what the themes should sound like, and he let me do what I felt like doing."

The results of that process shine through, as the soundtrack to "Where the Wild Things Are" is a spacey, moody piece that blends seamlessly with the hazy magic of the film's visual style.

For the recording process, Karen recruited a number of indie-rock luminaries as collaborators, including members of Deerhunter, Liars and the Dead Weather. The process of making the soundtrack was not unlike jamming with a group of friends — a process Karen was quite comfortable with, especially considering the unusual nature of the process.

"The first film footage we got was roughs before they even assembled anything," she said. "I had friends of mine from rock bands with me, and we'd watch the footage and we came up with the music for a really rough version of the film. It was a fairly unconventional way to do that."

Check out everything we've got on "Where the Wild Things Are."
