Could it be that Rick Ross will be the next one to get in the ring with Floyd "Money" Mayweather? The Bawse and the Triple C's went in pretty hard on the boxing champ last week with the video for "Go (War Remix)." A match probably won't happen. The 2009 Slick Rick has his crew together, and he and the boys are staying on the road and in the studio. This week, we hip you to their new mixtape, Maybach Music 3: White Sand. It's the alley-oop to what they are hoping is the slam dunk — Custom Cars & Cycles — which comes out close to Halloween. Ross won't stop recording. Look out for that new video for "Go" soon. They shot that down in Miami with the Birdman a couple of weeks back. C's up.

This Week's Main Pick

Street Kings: Triple C's (Rick Ross, Gunplay, Young Breed and Torch)

Holding It Down For: M.I. Yayo and the BX

Double Mixtape: Maybach Music 3: White Sand

Real Spit: How do you continue the momentum of making arguably the best album of the year? Rick Ross said his secret is to "simply continuing to make classic music."

"We feed the street that corner energy, that corner vibe. It's real big. We doing what we doing," Ross said.

The foursome release their debut group album, Custom Cars & Cycles, on October 27 with production from newcomers such as the Olympics and Transformers. The Game, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane and Mack 10 also appear on the record.

"Gunplay, unorthodox energy," Ross said of his crew. "He's uncut. He'll jump off that roof. Torch is much more laid-back. He's much more technical with his flows. Breed is the projects, that's the gutter. He just wanna have on a pair of $150 shoes and show his teeth and bounce around and do it for the Dunk Ryders and the D-boys."

"I'm bringing that young gutter side," Breed smiled. "We just f---ing up some money, basically."

The CCCs just released Maybach Music 3: White Sand. It's a double disc with a DVD to go along with it. Be on point when you play "Thug Battlefield" with Jadakiss, "Throw It in the Sky" (remix) and "Aim," three of our favorites.

"White Sand, the title goes back to the hustling roots," Ross said. "You out in the jungle. You can't stop. No matter what you doing, you gotta act like you got everything on the line. It ain't no stopping us. It's one of the hottest mixtapes that's out right now."

Joints To Check For

» "Go" (featuring Birdman). "This record is on our album as well. The first single," Ross explained. "Triple C's been riding with the boy since day one. It's a green light. Triple C's got a green light to take the game over. It's a go. My big [brother], my homie Birdman is in. We taking it back to the group days with the Hot Boys. I feel that was the last group that took the South where we trying to take it to."

» "Illustrious." "The video, we had a good time making that one," the Bronx's own Torch said. " We had lobsters cooking out in front of us. We went out to sea and caught them, by the way, then they had them cooking for us. That was one of my favorite joints. Shout-out to Magazeen; he held us down in Jamaica."

» "Yak" (featuring Plies). "It's a real 'hood record, street record talking about the struggle," Gunplay said. "Throw a shot of cognac back and drown your problems."

Lauren Conrad may have retired from the world of reality TV, but that doesn't mean she's left her friends behind. LC still hangs out with former "Hills" buddy and current "City" star Whitney Port, and the two reunited onstage as presenters on "VH1 Divas."

"Whitney Port," Conrad joked to MTV News on the red carpet for the show, when asked about a diva she knew. And, well, Port slung it right back at her. "I was going to say Lauren Conrad," she laughed. All jokes aside, Conrad said that she can't wait to catch the new season of "The City" when it starts on September 29.

"She'll support me," Port added about Conrad. Port said that Conrad also had a hard time adjusting to working with PR guru Kelly Cutrone, so the two were able to share their experiences about the boss who apparently complicates Whitney's life in the new season. Thought Port said she thinks her friend has had scarier encounters with Cutrone than she has.

"I feel like you have because you met her in that really awkward position at the runway show," Port said to Conrad. "She's been kind of like a den mother to me. She's been really, really great. So I have no complaints."

But Port isn't saying she doesn't sometimes feel like Andy to Cutrone's Miranda. "You know there are ["The Devil Wears Prada" situations]," she said. "But it's like a love-hate relationship. She has to be strict because that's the way she gets her business done."

Port also recently shared with us some of the "empowering" advice she got from another one of her mentors, designer Diane von Furstenberg.

"Diane really taught me a lot about empowering myself as a woman, and in my relationship world, she taught me a lot about appreciating myself and putting myself first."

The new season of "The City" premieres on Tuesday, September 29, at 10:30 p.m.

Pearl Jam To Release Extra Tracks From Backspacer Sessions

Guitarist Mike McCready explains why the new album has only 11 songs.

Pearl Jam's Backspacer, which just got its exclusive release at Target stores on Sunday, is a lean, 11-track album that focuses less on the group's penchant for long live jams and more on intense, three-minute garage-rock tunes. In the age of epic double albums and never-ending streams of bonus tracks, it seems unusual for a rock act to keep it so efficient. That's not to say they took a more casual approach this time around — they kept things tight on purpose.

"We had about 17 to 20 ideas going into this project, and when we had 11 about finished, [producer] Brendan [O'Brien] and [frontman] Ed [Vedder] sat down and said, 'This looks like a really good record,' " guitarist Mike McCready told MTV News. "[Guitarist] Stone [Gossard] had been talking about wanting to have a record that was shorter and more concise, and I think we achieved that."

The inspiration to keep the album concise came mostly from their urge to capture the vibe of albums they loved growing up. "It hearkens back to our favorite records," McCready explained. "Aerosmith's Rocks had nine songs; all the old Van Halen albums had eight or nine songs. I'm dating myself, but those are really good records to me, and you don't have to have a lot of stuff on them."

So, will those other songs that didn't make the cut get banished to the bottom of the group's B-sides pile? Not quite. In fact, they've got big plans for those too. "We still have other songs that are out there that are from this session that we may do something with in about six months," McCready said.

Joanna Garcia Hopes To Keep Romancing Chace Crawford On 'Gossip Girl'

In the first episode of the third season of "Gossip Girl," fans got to meet Nate Archibald's latest girlfriend, Columbia grad student Bree Buckley. Joanna Garcia, who has the illustrious distinction of locking lips with Chace Crawford on the small screen, feels really "lucky" to work with the heartthrob. What girl wouldn't?

"I mean, if you guys have ever seen Chace Crawford, you know he's got it down like no other. You couldn't find a cooler guy," she told MTV News. "For everything that he could be, he's that and more. He's gorgeous and a total dude, and we have so much fun together. I was really lucky. It made doing this really kind of sexy show a lot more comfortable having him as my partner."

The show's story lines are "definitely jam-packed," Garcia said, and she's always surprised by what is going to happen next for Bree, as well as the other characters living it up on the Upper East Side. "Every script that I read, I was like, 'Wow, a lot goes on on this show.' But I think that, especially for me, Chace and I have a really fun little summer romance," she said about the four-episode guest spot. "And I don't know, maybe I'll come back and cause a little trouble, stir up some naughty business."

If Garcia is given the opportunity to come back, she's hoping to explore Bree's bad-girl tendencies. "I really love the sweet romance, the love that we sort of created [with Bree and Nate], but I did like to dabble with a little bit of the naughty business," she said. "I wouldn't mind playing someone a little villainous."

Plus, she wouldn't mind getting the chance to reunite with the cast. "Everyone asks me, 'How's so-and-so?' " she said. "I'm like, 'Honestly they're the most wonderful cast of people. Just absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, kind, loving.' We had seriously an amazing time."

Aaron Carter Won't Get Brother Nick's Vote On 'Dancing With The Stars'

Aaron Carter is ready for the latest season of "Dancing With the Stars," premiering Monday (September 21) on ABC. He will be competing against the likes of Macy Gray, Kelly Osbourne, Tom Delay and Mya, but thinks that his toughest competition will be the guy in the mirror.

"Honestly, the biggest competition I feel is myself. The reason why I feel like my biggest competition is probably me," he told MTV News while rehearsing with partner Karina Smirnoff. "It's all about how much we rehearse and how much we take advantage of [those rehearsals]. I'm all about how much I push myself."

But his brother, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, pegged someone else as his younger sibling's biggest competition: football star Michael Irving. "I told my brother about [Michael Irving] and my brother's like, 'I love Michael. I'm gonna vote for him.' "

Carter isn't too worried though, given his job has required him to dance before. "I think as a dancer I have a little bit of a competitive edge over some people, absolutely. But who knows? We're all coming into this with not knowing what we're doing, so I think it's pretty equal 'cause it's not like this is what I do professionally."

He's finding the ballroom dancing in particular a bit challenging. "I always try to give you a little bit more. It's completely out of whack, if that makes any sense," he said. "Like it just doesn't click — it doesn't make any sense to me yet."

Carter also revealed that he had been asked to appear on the show before, but didn't accept until the time was right. "There was a couple of other times they approached me about it ... it just wasn't the right time and I had to go ahead and get my mind right and my body right and come into it with a clear conscience," he explained. "This time was time just 'cause the third time's a charm. It was a great opportunity that I just couldn't turn down anymore. I love competition."
