Brad Pitt Won't 'Brag' About Angelina Jolie's Directorial Debut

Damn, those two lovebirds are simpatico!

For a while now, we've been trying to get Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to dish details about her directorial debut, "In the Land of Blood and Honey," and his rumored cameo in the project. Last December, all Jolie would say about whether Pitt was involved in the film, a love story about a relationship between a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman in the lead-up to the 1992 Bosnian war, was this: "Possibly."

Taking a cue from his lip-sealed lady, Pitt was determined at the Toronto International Film Festival this week not to say a peep about "Blood and Honey."

"I will say nothing," he declared. "Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing."

His "Moneyball" co-star Jonah Hill, sitting right beside him, was happy to fill the void. "It is the best college sex comedy I have ever seen in my entire life!" he cracked, before openly wondering, "I have no idea what you guys are talking about. It doesn't sound like a funny movie to me. What is 'In the Land of Blood and Honey?' "

We filled Hill in. The movie, which marks Jolie's directorial debut and is eying a December 23 release, "illustrates the consequences of the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict," according to a press release from distributor FilmDistrict.

"Oh, OK, sorry, it just sounded like a serious movie," he said by way of explaining his joke.

All of which led to Pitt correcting us that it wasn't just directed by his girlfriend. "And written. Written by," he made it known. "I'm not bragging."

'Breaking Dawn' Trailer: A Closer Look

We break down the key scenes in the latest 'Twilight Saga' sneak peek.

Lots of romance, a touch of action and even a vampire/human birthing scene are all included in the latest "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" trailer. After dropping a trailer during June's MTV Movie Awards, the newest teaser fleshes out the moments that fans will salivate over most when the Bill Condon-directed film opens in November.

Check out our five favorite moments in the new "Breaking Dawn" trailer.

Hit play on the embedded video as we walk through some of the key moments in the trailer, then read on for a deeper exploration of what's going on in the "Breaking Dawn" footage.

The Wedding
The trailer opens with the ethereal wedding, as Bella and her father come to terms with her decision to marry her vampire lover, Edward. Dad is reserved but offers his assurance that he'll never let Bella fall, serving as a sort of theme for the trailer: Everyone seems to be resigned to the Edward/Bella marriage.

Jacob's Goodbye
"You think I'd be used to telling you goodbye by now," Jacob says as he embraces his unrequited love. It seems, much like Bella's father, that while Jacob may not be completely onboard, all he wants is for Bella to be happy.

The Honeymoon
Sweeping and romantic, the honeymoon has everything Twilighters have been waiting for, including boat rides, skinny dipping and that already teased bed-breaking love scene. "Last night was the best night of my existence," Edward says — and fans will no doubt agree with that sentiment.

Labor Pains
As shocked as Bella is by her pregnancy, everyone's reactions are just as dramatic. With one warning from her new father-in-law, Carlisle Cullen — "Your heart will give out before you can deliver" — a chain of events is set into motion. Edward worries his bride won't survive, and the wolves warn, "We don't know what they bred. We have to protect the tribe before it's too late."

Special Delivery
With fans clamoring over any footage of the much-discussed labor scene, now they finally get a taste of the pain and turmoil Bella will face as she tries to bring her baby into the world. While it answers that question, it raised another: Just how will "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" end and where will "Part 2" pick up?

Britney Spears' Mysterious 'Criminal' Art Hits Net

Rumored Bonnie and Clyde-style video treatment also lands on the Web.
By Jocelyn Vena

Britney Spears recently shared that she plans to shoot her video for "Criminal" in England, and now fans are learning some more details about the clip, as well as her plans to promote the single.

The turquoise-and-red single art for the song — which is now all over the blogs — features a serious-looking Spears looking out into the distance, her wavy hair falling on her bare back. A mysterious hooded man is also featured on the cover. A rep confirmed to MTV News on Wednesday (September 14) that the art is official.

A video treatment rumored to be for "Criminal" has also hit the Net. BreatheHeavy.com reports that the clip will revolve around Brit and her relationship with a super-hot, bad-boy fiancé. Britney and her beau attend a classy event but before long, they're outside fighting.

A character named Jason comes along and breaks up the fight, only to start fighting with the fiancé character. After Jason sweeps Britney off her feet, the two head out on what seems to be a Bonnie and Clyde-style crime spree. The video will reportedly be helmed by her "I Wanna Go" director, Chris Marrs Piliero.

The director had not responded to MTV News' request for comment at press time.

While the details have yet to be confirmed, Spears has promised that the video will be eye-catching. "Actually, the song, when I first heard it, it's really different and it's not anything I've heard like this before. So I really wanted to deliver this song. I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting," she told us last month. "You'll have to see."

As Spears gears up for the release of "Criminal," she's also got a few other projects in the works, including a remix album due out next month and a concert special set to air on Epix. The just-released trailer for the special, set to air in November, uses concert footage from her Femme Fatale Tour, which Brit is gearing up to take to Europe later this month.

What are you hoping to see from Brit's "Criminal" video? Tell us in the comments!

Now that we've finally seen the latest trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" and picked our favorite moments, it's time that we turn the continued swooning and sighing over to our trusted panel of "Twilight" experts to learn what they loved most about the new sneak peek.

"My favorite scene ... was the feathers in the bed," TwilightLexicon.com owner Laura Byrne-Cristiano said of the honeymoon aftermath, featuring a sleepy and happy-looking Bella surrounded by feathers from a torn pillow. "That was a moment I think every fan wanted to be there. I was so happy that it was in the trailer, and we know it's going to be in the movie. It could have been cheesy, and it looks like it's going to be fun."

"My favorite scene was the dancing scene with Bella and Jacob," Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com said. "I liked it because we [usually] see a lot of action, especially with Jacob and the wolf pack, so it was nice to see a really serious moment between them. I think that their chemistry is great and they do really well."

Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com went for the more uncomfortable moment.

"There were a lot of favorite moments. This is slightly morbid, but [I liked] actually getting to see parts of the birth scene," she admitted. "I've been so curious about how it's going to play out. The books are just glimpses, and it seems like the movie is going to be that way too, so I'm really glad that Bill Condon is staying true to that," she explained. "Like I said, morbid."

What was your favorite scene in the trailer? Let us know in the comments!

Lloyd Banks, Maino, Jim Jones Pop Champagne On 'RapFix' Anniversary

Consequence, Outlawz, more join host Sway for all-star celebration of premier hip-hop show's first year in the game.

It's a party, it's a par-tay! On Wednesday (September 14), "RapFix Live" celebrated its one-year anniversary in all-star fashion. Maino, Lloyd Banks, Diplomats capo Jim Jones, Consequence, the Outlawz and Reek Da Villian all made their way onto the "RFL" couch to toast to MTV News' premier hip-hop show.

Reek set things off with a spirited "RapFix"-themed freestyle, making way for the show's first guest, Maino, who chopped it up with Sway about his favorite show moments. The hard-nosed Brooklyn rapper recounted some of his more memorable ones, including Ja Rule appearing just before he turned himself in for his jail bid, and Nicki Minaj's and Lil Kim's separate appearances.

G-Unit's Lloyd Banks came in to rep for Queens, New York, and clued Sway in on his upcoming mixtape Cold Corner 2. Banks also revealed that after dropping his H.F.M.2 (Hunger For More 2) last year, he has satisfied his contractual commitment to EMI, making him a G-Unit free agent once again.

When he first appeared on "RapFix Live" back in May, Consequence made headlines, going into detail about his falling-out with former friend Kanye West. This time, the Queens MC turned the tables and revealed that he has since spoken to 'Ye and the feud is over. After a heated email exchange between the two, 'Quence claimed that West eventually told the ex-G.O.O.D. Music artist that he "loves" him. That wasn't all: Cons TV also brought his newborn son, Caiden, onto the set and introduced him to the viewing audience.

Although scheduled guests Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey missed their flight to New York City, Jim Jones represented for his Diplomats crew and talked about their reunion. He assured fans that the long-awaited Diplomatic Immunity 3 is coming, as is his Fly Boys collaboration album with Cam'ron.

The "RapFix Live" anniversary show also paid homage to the late Tupac Shakur. September 13, marked the 15-year anniversary of the death of the fiery rapper, and his protégés the Outlawz — E.D.I. Mean, Noble and Fatal — came through to honor the fallen hip-hop hero.

Together with Sway and 'Pac devotee Jim Jones, the group watched some classic 'Pac footage from the 1996 MTV VMAs and weighed in on his legacy. The group also humbled "RFL" host Sway when they told him of the love Shakur had for him.

For the grand finale, Sway brought out a few of the show's Get in the Game alumni — Feev, Sean Rose, the Boy Illinois, Gerald Walker and the Incomparable Shakespeare — to spit in a freestyle cipher. Banks, Maino, Jim Jones and Consequence popped champagne and looked on as DJs Love Dinero and Superstar Jay spun the beats as the new generation of artists spit the rhymes. But before the curtain closed, it was Cons who took the show out, performing his latest single "Mr. RapFix."

Bring on year two!

Brad Pitt Relates To 'David Vs. Goliath' Story In 'Moneyball'

Posted: 14 Sep 2011 03:22 AM PDT

'I certainly feel injustice,' he tells MTV News.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

You'd think it's been a while since Brad Pitt felt anything like an underdog, since those days in the late '80s when he was pumped just to get a few lines in a TV show like "21 Jump Street" or had to console himself with work as an extra next to then-hot shots like Andrew McCarthy and Jami Gertz. These days, he's Brad Pitt: Oscar nominee, beloved of Angelina Jolie and ... freaking Brad Pitt.

But as the actor admitted to MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival, there are still times when he feels like the world is against him, when he finds himself in a similar situation to the 2002 Oakland Athletics, the small-market Major League Baseball club at the center of his new movie, "Moneyball."

"I certainly feel injustice," he said. "I'm no foreigner to that, whether it's real or perceived."

Unjust is certainly the situation the A's find themselves in the film, which is based on the best-selling nonfiction title by Michael Lewis and which hits theaters September 23. The team had a vastly smaller payroll than other teams but nonetheless was able to rise to the top when general manager Billy Beane (Pitt) employed a newfangled, statistics-based approach to building his roster of players.

"These are guys that are working in an unfair game," Pitt explained. "They are a team with no money trying to fight — it's David vs. Goliath. How are they going to be competitive? How are they going to stand a chance? They can't fight the other guys' fight; they're going to lose every time. These guys had to rethink it and rethink what they were doing.

"They're Galileo, in a sense, going up against an institution that is not going to be very happy about them questioning their norms," he added.

Amy Lee Says Album Art 'About Evanescence, Not Just Me'

Posted: 14 Sep 2011 12:37 AM PDT

Self-titled album is the first that won't feature the frontwoman on its cover.
By James Montgomery

If one were to study the covers of Evanescence's first two albums, they'd quickly notice that, aside from all the dark swirly bits, they share another rather unifying concept: Namely, they both feature frontwoman Amy Lee ... and only frontwoman Amy Lee.

Of course, things are different these days. For the first time, Lee says that Evanescence are really, truly a band, and the songs on their upcoming third album are the end result of countless hours spent hammering out rhythms and melodies together. Which is why they made the decision to call the new album, simply, Evanescence.

For further proof of this point, one only has to glance at the cover of the album, which features nothing more than the band's name (and some of the prerequisite dark and swirlies). And while some fans may be mystified by the simple design, Lee told MTV News that there's definitely a message behind the minimalism.

"Well, both of our other records are me on the cover, and I think it's cool to have that photo, you know, that people can look at and go, 'OK, that's who that is.' But I feel like, by now, they know who we are, and I wanted something really different," she said. "I didn't feel like we had to put a photo on the cover, I wanted it to be more mysterious and more about Evanescence itself, not just me."

And that concept extends beyond Evanescence's cover image. As Lee explained, on the new album, she and her musical mates are exploring every aspect of the band ... starting with the name itself. Because, for the first time, Evanescence is more than just its frontwoman.

"The idea to not have any photos on the outside I thought was really cool," she said. "And all the images and the artwork is a play on the meaning of the word 'Evanescence.' It means 'to dissipate like vapor,' so I decided to go with light and vapor ... it's really about Evanescence, not just me."

What do you think of Evanescence's new album art? Sound off in the comments!

Ryan Gosling Is The New Franco And Other Lessons From Toronto

Posted: 14 Sep 2011 01:05 AM PDT

From Brad Pitt and George Clooney to the 'cancer comedy' and sex addicts, the Toronto International Film Fest was enlightening.
By Josh Horowitz

Ryan Gosling arrives at "Drive" premiere at Ryerson Theatre during the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2011

TORONTO — The Toronto International Film Festival is many things to many people. Oscar season launching pad for some. Moviegoing nirvana for others. And if you want to catch sight of a celebrity, or two, you could do a lot worse than a festival that lines them up every night as if you're living inside the poster for "Ocean's Eleven." Yes, George Clooney was here (with two movies in tow), as were Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling and Madonna and ... well, you get the picture.

TIFF continues through this weekend, but MTV News (and I) packed up our troubles and hours of interviews on Wednesday (September 14). Truth be told, the festival moves into a slower gear by Tuesday/Wednesday every year. As always, I learned a lot in the past week. Here are just a few of those lessons:

Brad Pitt Likes "The Incredibles"
When I sat down with Pitt (for the first time, gulp), he, Jonah Hill and I fell into the standard TIFF conversation before the interview: "So, what's good?" After I touted a few choice flicks, Pitt admitted all he gets to see are animated films at home, thanks to the kids — which of course segued into the standard animation conversation: best Pixar film ever? Brad and I heartily agreed on "The Incredibles," while Jonah insisted that "Ratatouille" is it for him because of its unlikely brilliance given the subject matter. Agree to disagree, Jonah.

2011 Belongs to Gosling and Fassbender
If 2010 was all about James Franco and Ryan Reynolds rising to A-list status, let's all make some room for Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender this year. Each actor brought two films to TIFF this year, and they were among the most talked-about stars on the party circuit — and not for anything gossipy, just for brilliant, charismatic and unique performances.

Gosling, the Canadian boy made good, brought George Clooney's "The Ides of March" and "Drive" to TIFF, and both films seem destined for a slew of top 10 lists. "Drive" in particular is an iconic movie star role for Gosling — his nameless "driver" says very little but might be the coolest character of the year.

Speaking of cool, anyone who saw "X-Men: First Class" was probably as mesmerized as I was by Michael Fassbender's badass Nazi hunter Erik Lehnsherr (you can't put Magneto on a driver's license). But forget superhero movies for a second. Fassbender arrived in Toronto fresh off a Venice Film Festival win for a truly brave performance in "Shame." I saw "Shame" at its Toronto premiere, and while it's not for everyone, this character study of a sex addict in NYC will likely have Fassbender on the awards circuit the next few months.

An ABC Family Star Will Probably Be Getting an Oscar Nod
I'll come clean and admit I'm not intimately familiar with the "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," but Shailene Woodley certainly has my attention now. The young actress more than holds her own opposite Clooney (himself delivering one of his best performances) in Alexander Payne's sad, funny chronicle of a family under duress, "The Descendants," She'll make you cry. Promise.

Don't Be Scared of the Cancer Comedy
The only problem with "50/50" is that the shorthand on it is a tough sell for date night (i.e. the "cancer" comedy). But I've now seen this flick twice, and it's a crowd-pleaser of the highest order. It was the only film I saw in Toronto that received a standing ovation. Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard, it's loosely inspired by screenwriter Will Reiser's true cancer experience — like "The Descendants" it's another brilliant and honest film that touches you in all the right ways.

And that's just the tip of the TIFF iceberg, my friends. In the next few days, we're rolling out interviews with the likes of Megan Fox, Leighton Meester, Clive Owen, Rachel Weisz, Emily Blunt and Gerard Butler — and yeah, more from those guys Gosling and Pitt.

Demi Lovato's <i>Unbroken</i>: Putting It Back Together

Posted: 13 Sep 2011 10:32 PM PDT

Lovato's latest perfectly balances party jams with confessional ballads.
By Jocelyn Vena

Demi Lovato
Photo: FilmMagic

Instead of going too edgy or staying a Disney princess, Demi Lovato's Unbroken, which drops Tuesday, is a perfectly mature album without scaring away the teens that grew up loving the "Camp Rock" star.

Thanks to touches of Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and Beyoncé, Lovato will certainly win over a whole new fanbase. The album touts production and songwriting credits from A-listers like Timbaland, Ryan Tedder and Toby Gad, and while Demi got some assistance from artists like Missy Elliott, Iyaz, Dev and Jason Derülo, she's the true star on the album.

Her big voice and sassy-yet-vulnerable attitude play up the album's flirty tracks and moving ballads. The Missy and Timbaland collabo "All Night Long" puts Demi's signature big voice over a pumping beat, Tim's signature beatbox vocals and Missy's always on-point rhymes.

The banger serves as the perfect setup up for "Who's That Boy," an equally party-friendly track that opens with a swirling, pumping beat. Lovato sings, "I've been staring at ya/ And I could do it all night/ You're looking like an angel/ With the kind of body that needs a spotlight."

The title track is an empowering disco song about being saved by love. "Give Your Heart a Break" and "Hold Up" are fun, smart dance songs about cute boys. "Give Your Heart a Break" features strings playing behind Lovato's voice as she sings, "The day I first met you/ You told me you never fall in love/ But now that I get you/ I know fear is what it really was."

Given Demi's personal life over the past 12 months, the ballads could have easily been heavy-handed; instead, they are specific to her yet relatable. Also, they show Demi's growth as an artist — lyrically and personally. On the sweeping doo-wop-inspired "Lightweight," Demi sings about the struggle one feels when she is both inexperienced in love but also falling hard for someone.

"Fix a Heart," another standout slow jam, is a piano-driven ballad on which Demi belts lines like "You must be a miracle worker/ Swearing up and down you can fix what's broken/ Please don't get my hopes up, baby/ How can you be so cruel?/ It's like you're pouring salt on my cuts."

The album closes out with a remix of lead single "Skyscraper," a perfect close to an album that balances feel-good party jams with deeply personal tracks about struggling with identity and love.

Lil Wayne: Right-Wingers Are 'Never' Going To Like Black People

Weezy talks racial politics in new issue of Vibe magazine.
By James Montgomery

Though it would be pretty amazing to see Lil Wayne throw on a tri-cornered hat and breeches to complain about tyranny, it seems he's not exactly feeling the Tea Party. Or the Grand Old Party, for that matter.

This according to a new interview in the October/November issue of Vibe magazine, where Weezy rips the nation's right wingers for their political views (though, to be fair, he does seem to share their opinion on taxes), and said that they're not concerned with — or interested in — working with African-Americans.

"You learn from what the right-wing is doing and you take something from it," he said. "I feel like as a people, the most that we can do is better ourselves and learn. Then look at yourself and ask, 'Am I the person they're talking about or am I not?' You have to make the most of who you are because the Republicans are never going to like us."

In the interview, Wayne also touches on the far-right's treatment of President Obama, saying that, while he understands some of their criticisms on Obama's handling of the economy, he feels that most of their attacks have more to do with his racial background than his policies.

"I don't think I have to say that for everybody to know that," he said.

And while he may be frustrated with the current fractious state of politics, Wayne can take solace in the fact that, at least there seems to a national consensus on his Tha Carter IV album, which sits atop the Billboard albums chart for the second week in a row.

Smoke DZA Dubs Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T. Rap's 'New Elite'

Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables
Headliner: Smoke DZA

Album: Rolling Stoned

Key Cameo: "On the Corner" (featuring Bun B and Big K.R.I.T.)

Real Spit: Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne are already established — not just as hip-hop stars, but as modern-day musical icons whose reach extends to fans outside of rap as well. In hip-hop's underground, however, new stars are emerging for a new generation; Harlem rapper Smoke DZA dubs them "the new elite."

While artists like Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T., Kendrick Lamar and Dom Kennedy are breaking through with mixtapes, independent albums and multi-city tours, DZA feels right there among that crop. He's even nabbed them all for guest features on his debut indie album Rolling Stoned.

"I feel like I'm amongst the elite, and I feel like they are the elite — like the Spittas, Big K.R.I.T., Kendrick, Dom," Smokey told Mixtape Daily. "That's the new crop of the elite right now, and just to be amongst them, I'm in a good space."

DZA first made a name for himself in 2004 as a part of the duo Smoke & Numbers, but he split from the group and decided to go solo. In 2009, Smokey re-emerged by himself on Substance Abuse, followed in 2010 with George Kush Da Button. Both projects contained original music and were presented as free Internet albums — though some still labeled them as mixtapes.

"Mixtapes to me was like rapping over other people's beats, so when I really started doin' the whole pattern of rappin' over my own beats, I took the whole approach as it being an album," DZA explained of his approach. "But I always called it a mixtape because it was free. Rappin' over other people's beats, I feel like that's a mixtape, and when you're rapping over your own original production, it's more so like an album."

While he was on the road with Big K.R.I.T. on the Mississippi rapper's Return of 4eva Tour, DZA recorded THC (The Hustler's Catalog), but it is Rolling Stoned that he counts as his true debut.

"THC was an acronym for 'The Hustler's Catalog,' and I was just telling tales of what I seen or been through on wax," he said. "So that was just the beginning of the hustle for Smokey, and now Rolling Stoned, it's a combination of George Kush, Substance Abuse, THC, everything, but with a new output of what I'm doing. Like, bigger production, and I'm working with my peers, so I'm excited about that."

Aside from the "new elite," Smoke also collaborated with veteran rapper Bun B for "On the Corner." It was that feature which meant most to him. "That's the OG of the cool table," DZA said of the UGK legend. "When the OG gives you the rub, it's like, what more can you say? It was just an honor and a pleasure working with Bun, and I hope we can do that again."

'Star Trek 2' Officially Lands J.J. Abrams As Director

Helmer of the 2009 franchise could begin shooting this winter, according to reports.
By Gil Kaufman

Sometimes, if you wait long enough (and blog hard enough), the universe will hear your cries of anguish and soothe them with a big glass of thirst-quenching Romulan Ale. Or, better yet, provide confirmation that J.J. Abrams has finally committed to directing the "Star Trek" sequel.

Either way, you're pretty psyched.

After indicating that he was still up in the air about directing the anticipated sequel to his wildly successful reboot of the space franchise, New York Magazine's Vulture blog is reporting that Abrams is onboard and that pre-production is under way. Citing unnamed insiders familiar with the "Super 8" director's plans, Vulture reported that the script is expected to be done by month's end and that shooting could begin this winter. Entertainment Weekly confirmed the news on Wednesday (September 14).

Abrams recently finished shooting the fourth "Mission: Impossible" movie, "Ghost Protocol" — which again stars Tom Cruise, along with Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner, Josh Holloway and Paula Patton — has hedged in the past about whether he would take up another tour on the Enterprise before a killer script was in place. In August, he told Collider, "Once you say, 'We're ready to go, but we don't have a finished script yet,' or, 'I'm directing the thing and here's the release date, but we don't have a finished script,' what starts to happen is that you're suddenly in production on a movie where you're thinking, 'Oh my God, we weren't really ready!' "

In July, producer/screenwriter Damon Lindelof told MTV News that work has continued on the script, even as the director's chair question remained up in the air.

"There was a lot of work going on over the course of the last year between Bob [Orci] and Alex [Kurtzman] and I," he said. "We generated, like, a 90-page half-script half-treatment based on some meetings that we've had with J.J [Abrams]. Now that J.J. is finally finished with 'Super 8' we've kind of, not thrown out that material, but we're reworking a lot of it."

Describing how the four writers wrote the original movie, Lindelof said, "Those four people sort of sitting in a room bouncing ideas off each other, challenging those ideas, sort of shaking the tree."

At the time, he said the idea was to get back to that form of creative thinking. "Because 'Trek 2' has to be better than 'Trek 1,' " he said, likening the sequel to the increase in quality from the already great "Batman Begins" to the exceptional "The Dark Knight." "It has to."

He said at the time that they were working hard to make a great leap forward in storytelling. "We are deep into that process now and writing."

A spokesperson for Paramount Pictures could not be reached for comment at press time.

Lil Wayne will make it an easy two in a row at the top of the Billboard 200 chart with Tha Carter IV next week, when the album holds on to the #1 spot thanks to sales of 219,000. After just missing out on moving 1 million copies in its debut, the disc easily passed the mark, approaching 1.2 million even as sales dove 77 percent in the second go-round.

Suffering an equally big drop was the Red Hot Chili Peppers' I'm With You, which lost 75 percent of its first-week business, moving down three spots to #5 as sales reached nearly 288,000.

Among the new faces in the top 10 are country giant George Strait, whose Here for a Good Time debuts at #3 on sales of 91,000, and the Beatles' 1, which shoots back into the #4 position thanks to a remastered physical and first-time digital release that helped it move 60,000 units. But the week's biggest gainer is Maroon 5's year-old Hands All Over, which has gotten a major boost thanks to a re-released version with the new top 10 hit "Moves Like Jagger." The disc climbs another 16 slots to #7 as sales picked up by 97 percent to 29,000.

The rest of the top 10: Adele, 21 (#2, 121,000), Jay-Z and Kanye West, Watch the Throne (#6, 49,000), NOW 39 (#8, 27,000), Beyoncé, 4 (#9, 25,000) and Foster the People, Torches (#10, 25,000).

Further down the line, "House" actor Hugh Laurie's blues album, Let Them Talk — featuring collaborations with Dr. John, Tom Jones and Irma Thomas and arrangements by New Orleans legend Allen Toussaint — enters the charts at #16 (20,000), while popular electro star David Guetta's star-packed Nothing but the Beat slips 13 spots from its top-five debut to #18 as sales trailed off by 66 percent to 19,000.

On the iTunes albums chart, it's still about Weezy as well, as Carter IV keeps the crown, followed by the Beatles, Adele, Maroon 5, the Chili Peppers, Kanye and Jay, Guetta, Strait, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream and Foster the People. The singles tally is topped by Maroon 5's smash collabo with Christina Aguilera, "Moves Like Jagger," then Adele's latest, "Someone Like You," Foster's "Pumped Up Kicks," LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts" and Lady Gaga's "Yoü and I."

Rounding out the list at #7 is Rihanna with "Cheers (Drink to That)," then Cobra Starship's "You Make Me Feel," Kelly Clarkson's "Mr. Know It All" and Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass."

Expect some shake-ups next week, when Grammy winners Lady Antebellum return with Own the Night and new albums drop from Staind, Anthrax and Primus.

Johnny Depp Is Extreme Barnabas In 'Dark Shadows' Set Pics

Photos show Tim Burton's vision of the vampire is much less human than the '60s soap original.

Johnny Depp promised that his take on the vampire Barnabas Collins in Tim Burton's adaptation of "Dark Shadows" wouldn't diverge greatly from the "classic look" of the character in the '60s-era gothic soap opera. "I think it's going to be somewhere in that arena, with maybe just a couple of different touches here and there," Depp told MTV News.

Perhaps, though, things have changed more than a touch since then. Photos snapped of Depp on the U.K. set show a vampire less like the familiar Barnabas than something out of Burton's "Alice in Wonderland." Depp's take, complete with pancake makeup, reddened lips and wacky blue glasses, makes the vampire look decidedly inhuman. That's a stark divergence from Jonathan Frid's original Barnabas, who was kind of creepy but also a dapper gentleman with an aesthetic that didn't scream, "Hey, world, I'm totally a supernatural creature!"

At the same time, what else were we expecting? This is a Depp-Burton joint, after all, and this duo is hardly known for subtlety or a reluctance to mess with the pop-culture past. So let's not get crazy or cynical and swear off this new "Dark Shadows" based on a few paparazzi photos. Recall the deep affection Depp has for the ABC show, which premiered in 1966 and pulled in elements of gothic romance, ghost stories, time travel and a whole lot of weirdness over its 1,255-episode run. The actor has long held out a hope of bringing the material to the big screen and portraying Barnabus.

The new storyline begins in the 18th century, when Barnabas is turned into a vampire by the brokenhearted witch Angelique (Eva Green) and buried alive. The film then flashes forward two centuries, as Barnabas is freed from his tomb and returns to his home and the dysfunctional relatives who now reside there.

"We're changing it a little bit," Burton told us last fall. "I wouldn't do it if it felt like it was just doing the same thing. For me, it's about trying to go back to the original drawings and kind of capture that spirit a little bit more of what the drawings are. It feels different even though it's a similar story, but we're kind of expanding it a bit.

Katy Perry Picks 'The One That Got Away' As Next Single

Katy Perry isn't ready to let the Teenage Dream era go. She's readying her sixth single from the album, the sentimental midtempo track "The One That Got Away."

Billboard reports that the singer's label has confirmed the track's release. Of the decision to release another song from the album, Greg Thompson, an EMI Music/Capitol Records EVP/marketing and promotion rep, told the mag, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

Boasting production and writing credits from Dr. Luke and Max Martin (with a co-writing assist from Perry herself), the track is all about her first love. On the track's chorus, she pines, "In another life, I would be your girl/ We keep all our promises, be us against the world/ And in another life, I would make you stay/ So I don't have to say you were the one that got away."

While she's a pop princess, Perry also calls out her love for artists like Radiohead and Johnny Cash on the song, which appears to be about another musician. "Someone said you had your tattoo removed," she sings. "Saw you downtown singing the blues/ It's time to face the music/ I'm no longer your muse."

The track will hit radio next month. So far, Perry's already found plenty of success with her previous five Teenage Dream singles, with every one topping the chart. The California Gurl matched Michael Jackson's record with the feat, and if this track should also go to #1, she would best the King of Pop.

The label added that Luke may "touch up" the track for the radio and that Perry is "reading treatments" for a video. "If it goes to #1, that would be great," Thompson told Billboard. "If not, we still have a Katy song on the radio in fourth quarter."

Justin Bieber promised that his forthcoming Christmas album will be chock-full of original tunes, but what may be even more exciting for his fans of all ages is the list of collaborators he's lining up for the project. Via Twitter, Bieber and his team have indicated that Sean Kingston and Taylor Swift have recorded songs with him, and on Tuesday, he tweeted that Boyz II Men are joining the mix.

"2day i woke up and realized that the group that made me want to sing @BoyzIIMen are now on the christmas album singing with me. #DREAMBIG," Bieber wrote. "i used 2 listen to their music and practice the runs. that is how i learned how to sing. now im in the studio with them making music 2gether.

"im telling you...never say never...never stop dreaming....never give up," he continued. "#DREAMBIG. @BoyzIIMen Im honored and blessed. thank u."

The love didn't end there. Members of the group also took to Twitter to give the 17-year-old some props for extending an invitation to them to work with him on their album. "it was a pleasure! Remember what we talked about in the studio Lil bro! Let's do it again sooner than later!! ... We got love for u lil bro!! Thank YOU, and Thanx for everything u do for ur fans!! I KNOW they appreciate it."

It's not the first time Bieber and the Boyz have worked together. The iconic '90s R&B group appeared in his 3-D flick, "Never Say Never," earlier this year. When the film was released back in March, the singer cited the group as one of his favorite musical influences. "My fans inspire me, as well as my mom inspires me and my dad and God inspires me," he said. "I've looked up to a lot of musicians, like Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men. ... I met Boyz II Men. I didn't get to meet Michael Jackson."

No official date for the Christmas album has been announced yet, but Bieber did tweet this hint: "thinking about starting christmas early...like november. #newmusic."

Two down, four more to go. On Tuesday night, Lady Gaga tweeted out her latest "Yoü and I" fashion film. After portraying "Nymph" in the first one, Gaga portrays the black-clad Bride in the latest installment, which she tweeted out to her Little Monsters.

The Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin-directed clip features Gaga wearing her outfit from the opening scenes of the proper "Yoü and I" video in which she stands at the cornfield crossroads.

During the two-minute, 28-second clip, Gaga dances around in her black chiffon outfit, slowly stripping away her blond wig and couture. By the end, she's topless, with her hands covering her breasts. Some of Gaga's monsters and pals make an appearance in the video as well, including blink-and-miss-it appearances from her video co-star "Vampire Diaries" actor Taylor Kinney and her stylist Nicola Formichetti.

The black-and-white clip also has funny, kitschy moments showing Gaga smiling, laughing and making funny faces for the camera. The videos were shot while Mother Monster and her entire Haus were in Nebraska earlier this summer working on the Laurieann Gibson-directed clip.

Each of the six films will focus on one of Gaga's characters in the original video, which includes her mermaid incarnation, Yuyi and her male alter ego, Jo Calderone. "We built a studio in a pigsty and worked for three days with her constantly coming off set to us and filming with us and taking pictures," Inez told MTV News. "What's incredible in there is that this is Gaga as herself, in the character that she is, related to the 'Yoü and I' video, and it's purely her."

Some details emerged on Wednesday (September 14) about the shocking death of French electro producer DJ Mehdi. The popular DJ (born Mehdi Favéris-Essadi) died on Tuesday at age 34 when he was fatally injured after falling from the roof of his Paris home.

Click for photos from the life and career of DJ Mehdi.

According to Liberation Next, Mehdi suffered fatal injuries when a skylight in the Plexiglas floor of his apartment in Paris' 20th arrondissement shattered, causing the DJ and three of his friends to plummet 7 meters. The three unidentified friends were sent to the hospital as well. One of Mehdi's publicists said the party at the DJ's home was a birthday celebration for pal DJ Riton, according to the French newspaper France Soir.

The Paris Social Club, where Mehdi often worked, announced that it would close its doors on Tuesday night in honor of the DJ. "Following the death of DJ Mehdi, we have made the exceptional decision to close the club tonight," read a post on the club's Facebook page. "An evening of silence in honor of the artist. Thank you for not commenting on this status."

After working his way up to premier producer status, Mehdi linked up with French electro-house DJ/producer Pedro Winter (a.k.a. Busy P), whose label, Ed Banger Records, rose to international prominence with acts like Mr. Oizo and SebastiAn and Justice. Mehdi's 2007 single "I Am Somebody," featuring Chromeo, enjoyed Stateside success, including placement in a commercial for XM Radio.

But Mehdi was equally well-known for his remixes, memorably reworking tracks by Architecture in Helsinki, New Young Pony Club and Miike Snow, among many others.

Tributes also continued to pour in for the popular mixer, including one from Canadian soul funk duo Chromeo, who said, "We lost our brother. No words." English DJ/producer Toddla T also weighed in, writing, "RIP Mehdi ... a top bloke xxxx ... one thing you could always count on from Mehdi was a hug and a smile," as did dubstep icon Skream, who had just performed with Mehdi. "RIP DJ Medhi ... can't believe I was with you Saturday ... I'm speechless for the loss of DJ Mehdi. Sending all my love to his beautiful family and to Pedro Winter and Ed Banger Records in Paris," Skream wrote.
