If you're as excited about "Twilight" as we are here at MTV News, then you're likely still reeling from the release of the brand-new trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" on Tuesday.

Now that some time has passed in order to reflect on those two minutes and 30 seconds of goodness, we decided to seek out the reactions from our favorite dedicated "Twilight" experts.

"Fantastic. Definitely my favorite [trailer] of any of the movies," gushed Laura Byrne-Cristiano, who owns TwilightLexicon.com. "I think [director] Bill Condon absolutely nailed it. He got everything: action, romance and an amazing collection of individual shots. There's got to be close to 100 individual shots in that trailer, and it's just absolutely stunning."

Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com agreed with Condon's trailer-cutting brilliance.

"My overall reaction is I loved it," she said. "I don't think Bill could have done a better job. He picked everything that I think everybody wanted to see for the most part. I think it was perfect, and I wasn't missing anything."

Hassell added that she felt a more emotional connection to the new trailer. "There were a lot of heartfelt moments. I really liked how that played out in the trailer," she said. "The last couple films, they tried to push the action in it, and I really liked that they stuck to the book and the heartfelt moments that are in 'Breaking Dawn.' "

Meanwhile, Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com expressed delight in getting more glimpses of the arrival of baby Renesmee, or "Nessie," a nickname readers of the book well know.

"We got to see a little bit of what it's going to be like to have Nessie, and that's going to be awesome," Matthews said of Bella's intense, climactic labor scenes, during which Renesmee is welcomed into the world. "I'm really, really excited, because it wasn't all romance; it was some of the conflict and turmoil," she added. "So that got me excited about it."

What was your favorite scene in the trailer? Let us know in the comments!

Evanescence Avoided 'The Classic Route' With 'What You Want' Video

Amy Lee tells MTV News that the band's new video represents them 'coming back to the world.'
By James Montgomery

Almost since the day she wrote it, Amy Lee has referred to Evanescence's "What You Want" as being "really different" from any song in the band's back catalog. So, when it came time to cook up a concept for the video, well, why would that change?

"We'd been working really fast, and we were still finishing the album and it was almost time to shoot the video, and I didn't have an idea, which is weird for me, I usually have a big vision right away," Lee laughed. "But the song is really different for us, so I knew that I didn't want to go the classic, sort of fantastic, epic [thing]. I mean it's still epic, but we didn't want to go the classic route — I wanted to do something different."

Lee actually invited her sister, Carrie, to the recording studio for a few fresh ideas. "She's a writer, so I was like, 'Would you just sit here with me and listen to the song a couple times and just tell me what you see?' " Lee recalled. "She just started saying things that were right on. She was like, 'This should be in New York. You guys need to do something different, this song feels different.' And she started talking about running across the Brooklyn Bridge, and it being where I live, and I was like, 'Oh my God, this is great.' "

While you can credit Carrie with the basic concept behind "What You Want" — a video that retells Evanescence's history, from their early days grinding it out in sweaty clubs throughout the South to their recent hiatus, when Lee moved to New York City — the climactic scene, in which the band wades into the surf at New York's Coney Island, was very much Amy's idea. And, yes, there's a deeper meaning to it.

"That was my real part, I kind of came up with the ending; I feel like it's a representation of us coming back to the world," she said. "We have a pretty large international fanbase, so I always think about us going on tour, and so much of touring for us is going overseas. But it's a little more than that; it's us heading into the unknown, coming into a new world, coming back after a long time; you've seen the past in the rest of the video, and that's the unknown future."

Of course, getting her bandmates onboard with that vision — and the early-morning swim it required — proved to be a bit more difficult than Lee had originally anticipated. But, as is the case with everything Evancescence these days, eventually, they all agreed to take the plunge together; some, less willingly than others.

"Yeah, [guitarist] Terry [Balsamo] especially did not want to get in the water," Lee laughed. "It was a little cold. I loved it though. I think the guys did, too."

Gucci Mane Sent Back To Jail For Six Months

Rapper's lawyer tells MTV News they 'expected' case to come down after January car-shoving incident.
By Rob Markman

After only three months on the street, Gucci Mane is back behind bars.

In April, Gucci was jailed on numerous unspecified probation violations, which stem from a 2005 aggravated assault case. That month, however, the Atlanta rapper was also arrested on charges he shoved a female passenger from a moving vehicle back in January. While Gucci served time on probation violations from the '05 case, he had yet to be sentenced in the January incident until Tuesday (September 13).

The rapper's attorney, Ashutosh Joshi, confirmed to MTV News that Gucci has been sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct for pushing a woman out of his Hummer back on January 28.

The "Wasted" MC is currently locked up in Georgia's DeKalb County Jail, where his lawyer hopes he will be allowed to serve out his entire sentence. "It's a case that we knew about, that we expected would come about at some point," Joshi said.

State Court Judge Eleanor Ross sentenced Gucci to six months and three years of probation, which is to take effect after his release. As a result of his plea, the Atlanta trap spitter was ordered to complete 12 weeks of anger management courses, pay $5,091 to cover the woman's medical bills and a separate $3,000 fine. (The 1017 rapper's current sentence also satisfies the criminal damage to government property charge he was handed after kicking a cop car last year.)

On the morning of January 28, the victim, a 36-year-old Atlanta resident, was at the South DeKalb Mall, when she was approached by a male driving a white Hummer; he was eventually identified as Gucci Mane. According to the victim, Gucci asked if she wanted to get breakfast, to which she agreed before entering his vehicle. However, once inside the truck, Gucci allegedly offered the victim $150 to "go to the hotel." When she refused and asked to be driven back to the mall, the rapper allegedly leaned over to open the passenger side door and shoved her out of the moving vehicle.

According to the report, the victim "had redness on her left side/ back area." And although she had never met Gucci before, the victim stated that she was familiar with his music and "recognized an 'ice cream cone' tattoo on the suspect's face."

How will Gucci's current sentence affect his career? Tell us what you think in the comments.

'Breaking Dawn' Trailer: Our Five Favorite Moments

MTV News breaks down the latest 'Twilight' trailer.
By Kara Warner

Be still, our "Twilight"-obsessed hearts. Finally, a new trailer arrived online Tuesday (September 13), and it is a doozy. Picking up where the first one (which debuted during the MTV Movie Awards in June) left off, the sparkling, action-packed, two-minute-and-30-second teaser offers fresh glimpses of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

The fact that we enjoyed every second of this new trailer is a given, therefore we are breaking out our top five favorite moments:

Charlie Walks Bella Down the Aisle
Bella's dad has never seemed totally onboard with his daughter dating Edward Cullen, let alone marrying him. However, in this sweet moment that opens the trailer, we see a wonderful bond between Bella and Charlie, as well as the natural chemistry between actors Kristen Stewart and Billy Burke, as they prepare to walk down the aisle together. "Don't let me fall, Dad," Bella says. "Never," he answers.

Jacob and Bella's Dance
After three books and four films of fighting for her heart, Jacob Black has to succumb to serious heartbreak and officially say goodbye to Bella. This sweet and heartfelt moment is captured beautifully during a slow dance at Bella's wedding reception. "This is how I'll remember you," Jacob says to Bella, hinting at the fact that she's set her heart on becoming a vampire. "Pink cheeks, heartbeat — you think I'd be used to telling you goodbye by now."

The Honeymoon Aftermath
It's safe to say that fans have been more excited about seeing the honeymoon scene than any other — save for a glimpse at Bella's wedding dress, perhaps. In the new trailer, we revisit Edward's hands crushing the headboard, followed by a very pleased and peaceful Bella lying in bed, surrounded by feathers from torn pillows and possibly pieces of the headboard. Intense, heated and squeal-worthy, for sure.

Wolves vs. Vamps
It wouldn't be a "Twilight" movie without some sort of epic battle involved, and in "Breaking Dawn - Part 1," there is a grand showdown between wolves and vampires. The wolf pack, which Jacob has deserted, wants to prevent Bella's unborn half-human, half-vampire from being born. "Get ready, they're coming for Bella," Jacob says, anxiously. "They're not going to touch her," answers Edward. We then see a shot of a standoff, wolves surrounding the vampires, at which point Jacob addresses them, "If you kill her, you kill me," followed by quick cuts of Alice and Jasper Cullen fighting the wolves.

Edward Reacts to Bella In Labor
Throughout the final minute of the trailer, most of the emphasis is put on the tension surrounding Bella's pregnancy. Carlisle warns Bella: "The fetus isn't compatible with your body. It's too strong and fast growing. Your heart will give out before you can do anything" — which Bella doesn't want to hear, much like Edward's emotional outbursts that she has decided to give up her life for her unborn child, without considering his feelings. The last shot of the trailer is Edward's face, full of anguish and anxiety, with Bella screaming in pain in the background.

What was your favorite scene in the trailer? Let us know in the comments!

Tupac Shakur's Legacy Lives On 15 Years After Death

Posted: 13 Sep 2011 09:38 AM PDT

At age 25, the rapper succumbed to gunshot wounds 15 years ago today.
By Rob Markman

There will never be another Tupac Shakur. Who knew that back in 1991 after he made his musical debut with 2Pacalypse Now that the saggy jean-wearing, wide-eyed MC who rapped about the fictional teenaged Brenda and her baby would grow to be one of the most revered figures in modern American history? On Tuesday (September 13), the 15th anniversary of the day he died at age 25, it is clear that Tupac has transcended hip-hop, held by his generation in the same regard as inspirational musical figures like Bob Marley and John Lennon.

Tupac's 1996 shooting and death was the final act in a life often overshadowed by drama and controversy. On September 7, 1996, after attending a Mike Tyson heavyweight championship fight in Las Vegas (and then getting into a fight himself afterwards), the rap star was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting. It wasn't the first time the enigmatic street poet came under fire. On November 30, 1994, Shakur was shot five times and, like a mythical urban superhero, checked himself out of the hospital against the doctor's orders, living to tell his tales through rap.

Through his music, storied acting career and overall public persona, Tupac Shakur had proved resilient, so his fans held hope that he would survive the 1996 attack that left him hospitalized for six days. But this time would be different. On Friday September 13, 1996, Tupac Amaru Shakur died due to respiratory failure and cardiac arrest. Authorities have yet to find his killer.

Born to two Black Panthers, Tupac understood poverty and black struggle, and he wasn't afraid to express it through his music. As intelligent, profound and articulate as he was in song, 'Pac also remained relatable, controversial and contradictory. So while tracks like "Brenda's Got a Baby," "Keep Ya Head Up" and "Dear Mama" were made to uplift, fiery anthems like "Hit 'Em Up," "Ambitionz Az a Ridah" and "Against All Odds" stood as chest-pounding, testosterone-filled thug anthems. Other hits like "I Get Around," "How Do U Want It" and "Toss It Up" celebrated Tupac's flirtatious side.

A double-threat, 'Pac went on to conquer Hollywood as well, beginning with a brief appearance in 1991's "Nothing But Trouble," starring Chevy Chase and Demi Moore. It was his 1992 role in the movie "Juice," however, that certified him a star. Playing the maniacal and villainous Bishop, 'Pac put his Thug Life persona on full display on the silver screen. He went on to land roles in films like "Poetic Justice" with Janet Jackson, "Above the Rim" and "Bullet," alongside Mickey Rourke.

In February 1995, the rapper/actor began serving a prison sentence at Clinton Correctional Facility in New York after he was sentenced on a sexual abuse charge in a rape case he faced the previous year. When he released his third solo album, Me Against the World, a month later, 'Pac became the first artist to score a #1 album on the Billboard 200 albums chart from behind bars.

Later that year, Death Row Records CEO Marion "Suge" Knight posted bail pending Tupac's appeal and signed the rapper to his label, where he went on to release his first double LP All Eyez on Me and, under the alias Makaveli, his The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory (which came out months after his death). While he was creating what many agree was the best music of his career, this period in 'Pac's life was marked by the feud he ignited with the Notorious B.I.G. and Diddy's Bad Boy Records. B.I.G. was gunned down six months after Shakur, on March 9, 1997. While many speak of the two rap deaths in the same regard, there is no concrete evidence to link the two. B.I.G.'s murder is also unsolved.

After his death, Tupac's legacy lives, particularly with the eight posthumous albums that have been released, including a double-disc greatest hits collection. He has been immortalized in film, books and even college courses, as well as through the works of musicians who have come after him. Traces of 'Pac can be found in nearly almost every rapper from 50 Cent to T.I. Jay-Z, Eminem, Fabolous and Cam'ron have all sampled from Shakur, and non-rap artists like Justin Bieber have claimed to be fans.

In his death he has remained firmly rooted as a hip-hop legend, but at the same time his legend has surpassed musical genre. Tupac Shakur was more than a rapper or poet or a thespian; he is a motivator, an inspiration and an American classic — even in death.

Nicki Minaj And Lil' Kim Are 'RapFix' Favorites For A Reason

Celebrity Favorites: Maino
Do the ladies run this mutha? After being deprived of rap femininity for a few years, it seems that women are once again a hot topic in the hip-hop conversation.

Take Wednesday's "RapFix Live" one-year anniversary show, for instance. Not only is Trina making an appearance, but in two separate pre-show fan polls, Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim are leading otherwise male-dominated categories. Minaj is currently leading for Best "RapFix Live" Freestyle, and the Queen Bee is the leading vote-getter in the Best "RapFix" Moment poll.

It's especially interesting considering that the two ladies were tangled in one of the biggest rap beefs of the year as well. Maino knows both Kim and Nicki, and when he appeared on Sway's Shade 45 morning radio show, he broke down the talents of both.

"I told her years ago that if I believed in any new female, I really felt like she actually had it because she rapped very feminine, she had a lot of style with her," Maino said of his early interactions with Nicki. "I saw her coming years ago, way before her name was even Nicki Minaj. I saw her actually being able to do it."

When Maino first came into the game with his debut single "Rumors," Lil' Kim was an early supporter, helping him navigate his way through the industry.

"Kim is legendary, man; household name that's gonna last forever," he said. "I just don't think that she maintained the work ethic to maintain what we wanted her to have, and that's to be in the spotlight continuously. Some people are not built for that 10-year run of nonstop working, like a Jay-Z."

The "Hi Hater" rapper said that, with today's fans, the only thing that matters is current hits, and while Kim has a powerful catalog, she needs some new bangers to return her to rap prominence.

"She took time off. When you take time off, you kind of hurt yourself, because in this game, they judge you by today," he said before offering advice to his onetime collaborator: "Get back to making hot music, because at the end of the day, that's all it is."

Catch Lloyd Banks, Maino, Trina and the Outlawz on the "RapFix Live" one-year anniversary show on Wednesday, September 14, at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com!

Evanescence Press Forward, Look Back In 'What You Want' Video

Gritty performance footage mix with dramatic New York scenes that illustrate the band's history and future.
By James Montgomery

Evanescence

In late July, Evanescence — and fans — crammed into a sweltering Brooklyn warehouse to hammer out the video for "What You Want," the first single off their much-anticipated new album (and, for anyone keeping score at home, their first video in almost four years).

In between takes, frontwoman Amy Lee told MTV News that the clip, directed by longtime pro Meiert Avis (U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name"), was meant to show "the history of the band." They wanted it to evoke the times when Evanescence used to play in Little Rock's "gritty, dirty club" Vino's as well as the band's more recent hiatus, which saw Lee and bassist Tim McCord relocate to New York City.

On Tuesday (September 13), we finally got to see the final product, as "What You Want" premiered on the band's official site. And boy, was Amy spot-on in her analysis.

"Want" is most definitely a historical thing, capturing Evanescence's early days, slogging it out in sweaty clubs. It also recalls the halcyon days of big-ticket rock videos, full of sweeping shots of the New York skyline, a dramatic scene in which Lee appears to leap off the Brooklyn Bridge and some claustrophobic, cathartic performance footage. It even has a striking ending, in which Lee and her bandmates disappear into the surf down at Coney Island, as the sun breaks over the horizon.

Lee has said many times that "What You Want" is a definite departure for Evanescence, and that holds true in the case of both the song and the video. The tune definitely snarls more than most in their back catalog, and the video feels very much like a true band clip; it's artfully autobiographical and, perhaps most notably, features all of Evanescence.

So, "Want" is notable for several reasons, least among them the fact that it officially brings to end their hiatus from the world of music videos. It's also important to realize that, for perhaps the first time in their rather tumultuous history, they're unified and pressing on toward the future. By looking back.

Nicki Minaj Is Betsey Johnson's 'Most Favorite Girl'

Nicki Minaj, no stranger to outlandish fashion, was right at home when she hit up the Betsey Johnson show at New York Fashion Week on Monday.

In addition to taking in spring 2012 shows like Carolina Herrera, Nicki sat front-row for her personal favorite designer, Betsey Johnson.

Dressed in a colorful tutu and sporting blue cotton candy-like hair, Minaj took in the runway scene, which included sequined mini-dresses, floral prints and, of course, a whole lot of leopard. MTV News caught up with the rapper just moments before the show began and she told us what it was like to meet her fashion icon.

"She's a free spirit," Minaj said of Johnson. "When I met her the other day, I felt like I knew her for my whole life. She's so warm and considerate and caring. She's amazingly talented and I've been wearing her clothes forever, so to meet her was like, 'Yay!' [I was] bowing down to her; she's dope!"

The affection was mutual. Backstage at Johnson's show — which featured a DJ, cupcakes, balloons and posters of Minaj with Johnson's face on them — the designer revealed that this line couldn't have been created without the hip-hop star.

"I was watching Nicki Minaj and my daughter Lulu, and I'm thinking, 'They are the body type,' " Johnson said of making the looks for her spring line. "I love [Nicki] and she really wears my stuff. She likes real tight; she's just my most, most, most favorite girl right now."

So how does it feel to be Betsey Johnson's muse?

"I just think it's amazing," Minaj told us. "I remember I was living in Queens and I couldn't afford Betsey, so I would, like, window-shop by her store and then I would go to the cheaper places. She had a Nicki Minaj [inspiration] board in her office, and it was so many pictures and wigs and all these things and clippings that she took of me and I'm like, 'Oh my gosh!' It was so emotional."

Even a dozen years removed from the White House, former president Bill Clinton still has that same superstar-attracting aura. That might explain why such bright lights as Lady Gaga, Bono and The Edge of U2, and Usher have signed on to perform at an October 15 party for Clinton at the Hollywood Bowl.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details on the final list of performers and presenters are still being worked on, but an impressive list of movie and TV personalities are expected to sign on for the event, which is being billed as a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Clinton's nonprofit William J. Clinton Foundation.

To date, the foundation has raised more than $10 billion for some of the ex-president's most cherished causes, including HIV/AIDS treatment, economic empowerment, food aid and global health initiatives. The show, which will also serve as a birthday party celebration for the former Democratic leader (who turned 65 on August 19), will be broadcast exclusively by Yahoo, which will stream "A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation" worldwide to a potential audience of millions.

Clinton continues to travel the world doing good works, though he turned his attention homeward over the weekend when he participated in the 10th anniversary ceremonies of the September 11 terror attacks. He announced on Sunday that he will team with Republican House Speaker John Boehner in a bipartisan effort to raise the final $10 million needed to complete the Fight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Brite Futures Go Shopping, Ask Justin Bieber To Prom

Indie band takes MTV News on a post-Bumbershoot vintage-shopping spree in Seattle.
By Matt Elias

SEATTLE — On a sunny Sunday morning, local band Brite Futures stood outside of the Fremont Vintage Mall, still riding high from playing the main stage at the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival the previous day. Despite a late night of celebrating, BF graciously invited MTV News to check out one of their favorite hometown haunts.

"We're here at the Fremont Vintage Mall," singer Shaun Libman explained earlier this month. "This is a place with a lot of crazy stuff, and we always find something weird and cool here."

Thus, we went into the kitschy vintage store with three-fifths of the band. As for the other two members, singer/guitarist Luke Smith told us, "One actually has a real job. I shouldn't say that, but he's working at a café right now. And the other is our drummer, and he just floats around and we never really know where he is."

Inside the store, an eclectic blend of choice records, vintage threads and everything in between (like a velvet Elvis painting) is laid out on two levels. The band quickly took to a set of '90s neon Looney Tunes caps, which, if you think about it, perfectly sum up the synth-happy indie-rock band: bright, fun and electric.

Moving on, Libman spotted a faux-snakeskin trench coat. "Everybody has to have one snakeskin jacket in their repertoire," Libman declared. "If anybody can pull that off, Luke Smith can."

Without hesitation, Smith threw on the coat and posed for our camera. Once he found his choice, the other members went on the hunt for their personal picks. After sifting through some records, singer and multi-instrumentalist Claire England saw a totally rad '80s gold gown.

"This is my prom dress," England said.

"Who's your prom date?" Libman asked.

"Justin Bieber," England coyly replied, adding that they would slow dance to one of his songs while he sings it to her.

The band continued on, finding an old prosthetic leg, a bin of black-light posters and a vintage Seattle SuperSonics hat (from their beloved former home team, whose arena they played in the day before).

Spending the morning with the band, it was hard not to be enveloped by their enthusiasm. After all, they've got a new album, Dark Past, dropping November 1. It's BF's first full-length since 2008's Glistening Pleasure, when they were known as Natalie Portman's Shaved Head (a name Natalie Portman apparently wasn't cool with).

With infectious singles like "Baby Rain" and "Too Young to Kill," no doubt you'll be hearing a lot more from this band over the coming months.

But before then, the band had to settle on some purchases at the Fremont Vintage Mall. At the checkout, they decided on one of the Looney Toons hats, the gold '80s prom dress, a vinyl soundtrack from Disney's "The Rescuers," the snakeskin coat, a prosthetic limb and a plastic flamingo — you know, just your average Sunday purchases in Seattle.

Michael Jackson Tribute Concert To Be Hosted By Jamie Foxx

While the show has not yet added any more big names, the upcoming Michael Forever Tribute concert, honoring the legacy of late pop icon Michael Jackson, now has an award-winning host. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx has signed on to emcee the October 8 concert in Cardiff, Wales.

The show, which is being put together by Jackson's mother, Katherine, as well as a few of the late King of Pop's siblings — but not the singer's estate — is slated to feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, Ne-Yo, Craig David, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke, Alien Ant Farm and Motown legend Smokey Robinson.

And though Beyoncé was added to the bill recently, some fans were upset to subsequently learn that the pregnant pop queen will not perform live via satellite as originally promised but appear in a pretaped segment described as a "special contribution on video."

In addition, some Jackson followers on the Fans Against Michael Forever Tribute Facebook page have expressed their anger that promoters announced an upcoming two-for-one ticket deal to goose reportedly slow sales. According to reports, the discounted prices will not apply to tickets already purchased for the event; conflicting reports also stated that the two-for-one deal had been rescinded. A spokesperson for the event told MTV News that there would be no two-for-one ticket package.

Some disgruntled posters have also complained that the show's promoter, Global Live Events, is reportedly censoring negative fan comments on the show's official page. There has also been grumbling from some of Jackson's siblings — including Janet, Jermaine and Randy — and fans about the timing of the show, which will take place in the midst of the manslaughter trial of Jackson's physician Dr. Conrad Murray.

Joe Jonas told MTV News that his music video for "Just in Love" would leave his fans "shocked," and he wasn't wrong. The video shows a grown-up side of the former teen star, who's now 22.

The retro-tinged, very sexy clip is set in Paris, with Joe cavorting around town with French model Angele. The two run around in their designer duds, making out in cafés, catching the metro, driving around in cars, hanging out in a bathtub and kissing in bed (a lot).

"No, I'm not naked and she's not naked," he later told E! Online about the bathtub scene when the network premiered the video on Tuesday evening. "But I think it's a little bit, well, I'll just say it's a little bit older than anything I've done before."

The video, directed by Jaci Judelson, is composed of shots of the pair as they make out all around one of Europe's most beautiful cities, weaving together the tale of their brief but passionate love affair. However, all good things must come to an end and Joe leaves his French lady love behind. The video closes out with Joe looking back as he walks away in the dark of the night.

"Just in Love" officially dropped last week and is the second single from Jonas' forthcoming album, Fast Life, due October 11.

We can add two more films to the "classics" getting the reboot treatment in Hollywood: New versions of 1991's "Point Break" and 1976's "Sparkle" are reportedly in the works.

TheWrap.com reports that Alcon Entertainment is currently working on a reimagining of surfer-heist flick "Point Break," which starred Keanu Reeves as FBI agent Johnny Utah who goes under cover and hangs 10 with a group of surfing criminals, led by Patrick Swayze. The new film will also include an extreme sport, but no word on whether it will still be surfing.

Producer Michael DeLuca explained that the Kathryn Bigelow-directed original was "a Zen meditation on testosterone fueled action and manhood in the late 20th century" that they want to re-create for the 21st century.

In that other remake news, according to Variety, Sony Pictures is readying a remake of "Sparkle," with Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston (who will also executive produce) rumored to star. Mike Epps has also been attached to the project, with production slated to begin next month.

The original film's plot, inspired by the story of the Supremes, revolved around three Harlem sisters who become a successful 1950s girl group and experience the pitfalls of fame. The new movie will tell the story of an aspiring singer (Sparks) in 1968 Detroit. This will be Houston's first big screen film since 1996's "The Preacher's Wife." This is Sparks' feature film debut.

Lady Gaga sat down with French fashion pioneer Jean-Paul Gaultier for a special that aired Monday night on the CW. The singer opened up to the fashion designer about her beginnings and what she calls her "self-indulgent" youth.

"I just was partying and being very self-indulgent and trying to find myself. In hindsight, it's so dangerous, and I don't encourage anyone to follow that path," she told the designer. "I remember my dad ... I was actually doing drugs in my parents' house one day and they didn't know I was in the bathroom. I came out, and my father could tell, and I just remember feeling so embarrassed and I quit instantly."

Despite her hard-partying ways, Gaga always maintained her pop star ambitions. She talked about quitting college, performing in small New York clubs and making the decision to take off her clothes during her performances to get everyone's attention.

"I knew that there was something I loved about the shock-art potential of what I could create," she said. "I like to liberate myself with my ability to change."

She later likened that philosophy to her look: "I still love trash glamour; it's so much of my favorite thing about getting dressed. I love the mixture of things that are really elegant with things that are really trashy."

That combination has made her a superstar. She explained, "My cultural contribution and social contribution was really an honor and I'm still so humbled by it. I hope I can continue to use my voice to make an impact on my generation."

Though the stars get the headlines, it's almost always the people behind the scenes who rake in the most cash in Hollywood. Case in point: According to the new Forbes magazine tally, the list of the highest-paid men in entertainment is led by actor/director/screenwriter/producer/author Tyler Perry, whose films have grossed more than $500 million worldwide.

He tops a list — measuring the entertainers' earnings from May 2010 to May 2011 — that also includes Steven Spielberg, Simon Cowell and one of the only actors on the list, Leonardo DiCaprio.

How did Perry make it to the top with $130 million over the past year? Thanks to fat checks from his TV shows, "Meet the Browns" and "House of Payne," as well as his hit series of movies based around his drag character Madea and his upcoming rare acting role as the titular detective in I, Alex Cross.

Just behind Perry is über-producer Jerry Bruckheimer at $113 million, which comes from his take for the $1 billion-grossing fourth installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, as well as his hand in producing a number of hit TV shows, including "The Amazing Race" and the "CSI" franchise.

Legendary director Steven Spielberg is third with $107 million, earned in part from his upcoming pair of big-budget films, "War Horse" and "The Adventures of Tintin." Fourth is the only musician on the list, piano pounder Elton John ($100 million), whose riches come from his back catalog and a world tour that grossed $204 million.

"X Factor" judge/creator Simon Cowell is clearly not hurting since his departure from "American Idol," as he rounds out the top five with $90 million.

Also in the top 10: author James Patterson ($84 million), TV talker Dr. Phil McGraw ($80 million), DiCaprio ($77 million), satellite radio titan Howard Stern ($76 million) and disgraced golfer Tiger Woods ($75 million).
