It's been more than five years since the Red Hot Chili Peppers released Stadium Arcadium, but later this month, they'll finally return with I'm With You, their hotly anticipated new album. And obviously, this is a fairly big deal.

Which is why it's only fitting that MTV is rolling out the red carpet for RHCP, with the exclusive premiere of their video for "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie," the first single off You. The clip will debut live on MTV and MTV2 on Wednesday, August 17, at 7:53 p.m. ET/PT.

Immediately following the debut of "Maggie," the band will sit down with MTV News for an in-depth interview, to stream live on MTV.com. And since we know you've been waiting a long time for this, we're also allowing you to get in on the conversation. Fans can submit their questions (and video questions) for Anthony, Flea, Josh and Chad via Twitter, using the hashtag #AskRHCP.

"The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" recently rocketed to the top of Billboard's Alternative Radio chart, giving the band their 12th #1 on Modern Rock radio (which, just in case you're keeping score at home, is a record no one can even come close to matching). I'm With You, their 10th studio album (and first with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer), is due in stores on August 30.

Tune in for the premiere of "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" on Wednesday, August 17, at 7:53 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and MTV2. Then stick around immediately after for our exclusive interview with the band, streaming live on MTV.com. Fans can submit their questions for RHCP via Twitter, using the hashtag #AskRHCP.

The 2011 Video Music Awards are right around the corner (August 28, to be exact) and Nicki Minaj wants her Barbs and Kens to turn it out and make sure they're casting their votes for her.

Nicki is up for three prizes at the show, including Best Hip-Hop video and Best Female Video for her "Super Bass" clip, as well as Best Collaboration for her cinematic "Moment 4 Life" video, which features her pal, Drake.

"Barbs, vote for me," she said in an interview with MTV News. "Everybody else, please vote for me. Help me. Help me! I'm from Southside Jamaica, Queens, and I need your help. Vote."

The competition is stiff, with Minaj having to face off against some of her pals and peers. For Best Hip-Hop, "Super Bass" is up against Lil Wayne ("6'7"), Kanye West featuring Rihanna and Kid Cudi ("All of the Lights"), Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes ("Look at Me Now") and Lupe Fiasco ("The Show Goes On").

The competition is equally tight for Best Female Video: Adele ("Rolling in the Deep"), Katy Perry ("Firework"), Beyoncé ("Run the World (Girls)") and Lady Gaga ("Born This Way").

Her competition is also star-studded in the Best Collaboration category where she and Drake are up against Pitbull, featuring Ne-Yo, Nayer and Afrojack ("Give Me Everything"); Chris Brown, featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes ("Look At Me Now"); Kanye West, featuring Rihanna and Kid Cudi ("All of the Lights"); and Katy Perry, featuring Kanye West ("E.T.").

So, what makes her think fans will help her take home a Moonman or two at her second VMAs?

"Fans should vote for me and Drizzy because they love us and we love them," she reasoned. "And we are the hungry, struggling, up-and-coming newbies, and you've all been new at one point in your life, so show the kids some love. Go on! Vote!"

The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT. See the list of nominees, revisit last year's highlights and vote for your favorites in the general categories by visiting VMA.MTV.com.

Swedish House Mafia Tease Batch Of New Singles

Steve Angello tells MTV News that the famed Swedish trio just want to take a creative approach to dropping new material.

After impressive remixes of Swedish House Mafia's last single, "Save the World," by dance music acts like AN21 and Max Vangeli, Alesso, and Zedd, whose fiery mix MTV News premiered exclusively last month, the house music production trio of Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello have so far teased only two new originals this summer.

And really, only one of these new gems has been well-documented, starting with Axwell spinning the dark track at Club Papaya in Croatia in July. Sure, the in-demand collective has been busy touring, but save for Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso debuting their new single "Calling" on Friday (August 12) on the BBC's "Essential Mix" with Pete Tong, it would seem the three Swedes have devoted their summer to performing rather than hitting the studio.

When MTV News caught up with Steve Angello recently, though, he told us nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, Angello revealed, SHM have more than 15 songs ready to go, but the group is toying with how to release their new material.

"This is the thing ... we have a lot of records," Angello confessed. "We have singles; we have all the material to make an album. But it's like, do we want to stick with the traditional album ways or do we want to do something different? And I think, as Swedish House Mafia works, I think we do something different."

As for the aforementioned "dark" single Axwell played earlier at a live show, Angello couldn't confirm whether it would be the trio's next release. "It's one of them. ... It's another record," Angello said. "It's pretty f---ed up, but it's good energy!"

In addition to working on their own material, fans of the three Swedes will be tickled to hear that they've also been producing records for two major pop stars. But, of course, they aren't ready to reveal just who yet.

"A lot of people came through this year," Angello said. "After the success of, 'One,' and 'Miami 2 Ibiza,' we got hundreds of requests to work with people. We chose very few to work with. We've done some work with a very, very big artist. We're producing [some of] another artist's album. It's been an amazing trip for us. I can't tell anybody's name yet."

While we couldn't get names, MTV News did get another major piece of SHM scoop: Angello is also well into work on a solo album being put out through Interscope via his Size Records label.

"I do have an album," Angello revealed. "The last bit is the hard part because you have to decide what you want to do and choose what direction you want to take. I've finished 70 percent. I got a couple singles. I just haven't picked 'the one.' "
