Before the folks behind the 2011 Critics' Choice Movie Awards on VH1 dished out their choices for the best flicks of 2010, they chose to spoof them first.

The guys of "Jackass" kicked off the festivities Friday night (January 14) with their own kooky rendition of the dream drama "Inception," pretending to plant the idea in Steve-O's head to bungee-jump in a portable toilet and get splashed with other people's poo. While the guys' twist on hit flicks like "The Social Network" — which went on to win Best Picture — and "Black Swan" peppered the show, the rest of the evening was pretty clean, as movies like "The Fighter" and "Inception" racked up trophies.

Following opening remarks from beefy action star-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger and an introduction from Ashton Kutcher, "The Fighter" took home the first award of the night for Best Acting Ensemble. Lowell, Massachusetts, policeman Mickey O'Keefe, who plays himself in the movie as the mentor of "Irish" Mickey Ward, accepted the award on behalf of the cast, beaming, "This is just bitchin'!"

Rocking a delicate pastel dress, "True Grit" newcomer Hailee Steinfeld took home the prize for Best Young Actor/Actress, thanking everyone from her talent agency to her family, and even giving a shout-out to God.

Eva Mendes handed over the Best Supporting Actor award to Christian Bale for his scrappy performance in "The Fighter" (co-star Melissa Leo later won for Best Supporting Actress). The English actor recognized the real-life inspiration for the character Alice Ward, who has recently been laid up in the hospital, and briefly got emotional when thanking his wife and daughter.

"The Hangover" star Ed Helms presented the Best Action Movie award to Christopher Nolan's "Inception," applauding the film's knack for "blowing sh-- up."

Kim and Khloé Kardashian, minus their curvy sister Kourtney, presented Best Documentary Feature to "Waiting for Superman." Filmmaker David Guggenheim aptly followed up the win with an impassioned plea for widespread access to quality education for all children.

Legendary movie veteran Steven Spielberg accepted the award for Best Picture Made for Television for HBO's wartime miniseries "The Pacific," and comedy queens Joan Rivers and Sarah Silverman handed over the trophy for Best Comedy to the folks behind the high school fake-sex romp "Easy A." "It's about pretending to have sex in high school, which we're all familiar with," director Will Gluck quipped. The beloved family-friendly flick "Toy Story 3" nabbed Best Animated Feature.

The night had some musical moments as well, courtesy of house band Maroon 5, who cranked out bluesy versions of everything from Prince's sultry classic "Kiss" to Bill Withers' mournful hit "Ain't No Sunshine" throughout the show. Rapper/actor Ice Cube used his hip-hop and Hollywood experience to introduce the Music+Film Award for Quentin Tarantino, commanding attendees to "sit ya ass down" before he pumped up the filmmaker's world-renowned skills.

After a montage of scenes from Tarantino flicks like "Jackie Brown" and "Inglourious Basterds," Maroon 5's Adam Levine took the stage solo to strum Stealers Wheel's folky jam "Stuck in the Middle With You" as the infamous ear-slicing "Reservoir Dogs" scene that features the song played in the background. Keri Hilson cooed a vampy rendition of Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man," which is featured in "Pulp Fiction," heading into the audience to serenade Tarantino, purring the lyrics and oozing with sex-kitten energy. When Tarantino accepted the award, he spoke about how music informed his early screen ambitions, reminiscing about visualizing cinematic scenes as he played hits in his bedroom as a teen.

"The King's Speech" won Best Original Screenplay, while the Facebook drama "The Social Network" scored Best Adapted Screenplay. Writer Aaron Sorkin shouted out the site's founder, Mark Zuckerberg, saying, "We owe you a debt of gratitude" for the social-media phenomenon. "Network" mastermind David Fincher also nabbed Best Director.

Emily Blunt and Jimmy Kimmel teamed up for a lighthearted presentation of the Joel Siegel Award to Matt Damon for his humanitarian work with his global clean-water campaign Water.org. Kimmel feigned disinterest in Damon's efforts, quipping, "Sean Penn is actually in Haiti right now." Damon playfully fired back when he took the stage, saying, "Jimmy, I literally have no idea why you're here," which prompted the talk-show host to stroll backstage mid-speech.

Colin Firth also lightened up his acceptance speech by joking, "I will be wearing this around my neck as a talisman to give me magical powers," as he cradled his Best Actor trophy for "The King's Speech." Kevin Spacey took it back to the '90s with inexplicable impersonations of portly comedian Jon Lovitz and former President Bill Clinton before presenting Best Actress to Natalie Portman. The newly pregnant starlet thanked director Darren Aronofsky, playfully noting, "You made me very skinny and you ... made me fat" for introducing her to the film's choreographer and her new fiancé, Benjamin Millipied, with whom she's expecting her first baby.

Nicki Minaj has been tapped as the musical guest for an upcoming episode of "Saturday Night Live."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Young Money MC will join "Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg, who will serve as host, for the show's January 29 broadcast.

THR also reported that Linkin Park will perform during the February 5 episode, which is set to feature hosting duties from former "SNL" castmember Dana Carvey.

Known for her out-of-the-box fashion and manic rhymes, Minaj will likely perform her new single, "Moment 4 Life," featuring Drake, as she brought the tune to her appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" earlier this week. Eisenberg's and Minaj's upcoming appearance marks the first time for both on the sketch show.

"SNL" isn't the only treat Minaj has up her sleeve for her fans. Minaj recently teamed up with Rihanna to shoot the music video for another one of the MC's new singles, "Fly." When E! News asked about the concept for the upcoming clip, Nicki remained tight-lipped, saying, "We're going to save the world in more ways than one with the video, and that's all I can say about that."

However, it was the duo's TwitPics that sent the Internet ablaze when rumors circulated that Nicki and Rihanna were living together. The MC took to Ryan Seacrest's radio show to clear the air. "I don't know where people got this really insane, hilarious, random rumor that she and I were living together," she said. "We just shot the video for a song I have on the album I have called 'Fly,' and when I saw her, the first thing I said was, 'So, did you hear we're living together?' and we just started cracking up laughing. She was like, 'Yo, I can't believe that people are, like, this ridiculous. So we TwitPic'd ourselves, and she put it on Twitter and said 'Me and Nicki at our new pad' or something."

Are you excited for Nicki's "SNL" debut? Tell us what you think!

Hailee Steinfeld Blames 'Bad Timing' For Lea Michele Encounter

'Everything is totally fine,' breakout 'True Grit' actress assures MTV News at Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

Before Hailee Steinfeld took the stage at the 16th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Friday evening (January 14) to collect her prize in the Best Young Actor/Actress category, she chatted with MTV News about a story aside from her breakout performance in "True Grit."

A few weeks ago, Steinfeld told J-14 magazine that "Glee" star Lea Michele had snubbed her during an encounter, going so far as to make her cry. When we caught up with her, we had to get to the bottom of the story.

"When I auditioned for 'True Grit,' I was on the Paramount lot, and that's where they film 'Glee,' and I saw her after my audition and I was wearing, like, 1800 [period clothing]," Steinfeld recalled, adding, "It was so embarrassing."

The 14-year-old breakout actress went on to say, "I saw her, and I went up to ask her for an autograph, and it was just really bad timing, and I was so embarrassed because of what I was wearing. The only thoughts that were going through my head were, 'Oh my God, Lea Michele thinks I'm a total freak.' "

Still, Steinfeld is keeping a positive attitude about the whole thing, assuring fans, "Everything is totally fine."

Since then, the story has been reported as a "misunderstanding" and that it was actually a PA, not Michele (who had another snub story go viral, when it was reported that she was openly rude to photographer Patrick McMullen at 2010's Time 100 event), who had turned Steinfeld away.

Nevertheless, the "Glee" star (who ultimately apologized to McMullen via Twitter) released a statement to GossipCop that read, "I heard Hailee was upset and feel terrible. The Glee schedule is so jam-packed that the PA probably pulled me so that I wouldn't be late to set. I never meant to hurt her feelings. She's an extraordinary talent and I look forward to meeting her one day."

Jon Hamm attended the 16th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards as part of the Best Ensemble-nominated cast of "The Town," but there was still plenty of lingering curiosity about his possible next project.

The "Mad Men" star has recently been the center of a rumor mill (largely on the Web) that has been wondering whether Hamm will be the next actor to fly in Superman's famed cape. The Golden Globe nominee stopped by to chat with MTV News on the CCMA red carpet about the odds of playing the Man of Steel in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of the franchise.

"I talked to Zack quite a bit," Hamm told MTV News about his "Sucker Punch" director. "We had some looping and some reshoots and stuff to do on 'Sucker Punch.' But no, I think that's a young man's game now. I think I've been aged out of that one by now, but that's fine with me. There are plenty of other people available to put on tights."

Hamm assured MTV News last year that he is "a huge comic book fan" but also admitted he'd had his doubts about taking on those type of roles because "it's a tricky road to go down with some of those heroes, because they're not flawed. Superman is Superman — he's invincible, so where's the drama?"

The 39-year-old actor had previously told MTV News that he feared he might be "aged out of that competition" and joked that he wouldn't get that part "unless Superman's power was the power of being really old."

What do you think: Could Jon Hamm still play Superman? Let us know in the comments below!

Critics' Choice Movie Awards Fashion: Mila Kunis, Kim Kardashian, More

Little black dresses rule the red carpet, with Nicole Kidman, Keri Hilson and more going with darker hues.

There are many things to love about awards season, particularly for the pop-culture junkies and celebrity obsessed. There are fancy parties, pretty people, glitz, glamour, etc., with most of those things revolving around fashion.

(Check out all of the hottest fashion from the 2011 Critics' Choice Awards red carpet.)

At Friday night's (January 14) Critics' Choice Movie Awards, there were plenty of fancy threads to appreciate — particularly for the few attendees who sported uniquely colored ensembles. Hailee Steinfeld's peaches-and-cream Marchesa and Kim Kardashian's form-fitting, fire-engine-red Vera Wang gown were prime examples. Not to mention Natalie Portman's white number with black trim. But for the few splashes of color, there were far more folks sporting variations on one shade: black.

Naturally, we expect to see most of the men in black, since they typically sport tuxedos, but plenty of ladies went with a darker wardrobe as well. Prime examples: Best Supporting Actress nominee Mila Kunis wore a short, black Nina Ricci; Eva Mendes rocked a flowy-yet-saucy black mini-dress embellished with a large bow; Nicole Kidman chose a long, drapey black number; and Keri Hilson selected a sparkly-bustier, silky black ensemble. And the list doesn't end there: Funnywomen Joan Rivers and Sarah Silverman also joined the raven-adorned ranks.

But everyone knows a good red carpet isn't just about the ladies; we'd be remiss if we didn't recognize a few gentlemen who stood out in the crowd. Justin Bieber looked suave, even though he attempted to fool everyone by wearing framed glasses and a mustache. The always-dapper John Legend wore a charcoal Gucci suit, and "The Town" star Jeremy Renner and "Chuck"/"Tangled" actor Zachary Levi also got noticed.

Cage The Elephant Carry Alt-Rock Flag Into 2011

Thank You, Happy Birthday band is one of MTV News' 11 for '11 stars to watch.
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Sasha Hamrogue

Cage the Elephant toured long and hard behind their 2008 self-titled debut, wowing fans on both sides of the Atlantic with their high-intensity live shows, scoring a pair of rock-radio hits and generally learning the ropes from the likes of Silversun Pickups and Stone Temple Pilots, both of whom they toured with.

In other words, they earned their success the old-fashioned way, and now they're ready to take the next step. On Tuesday, they released their second album, Thank You, Happy Birthday — which is equally indebted to both the Pickups (who memorialize the 1990s) and the Pilots (who lived through them) — and they're already gaining traction with the album's first single, "Shake Me Down."

MTV News expects 2011 will be a big year for the Bowling Green, Kentucky, quintet, which is why we've tapped them as one of our 11 for '11 stars to watch.

Of course, months ago, there was a very real chance that none of this would've happened. Weary from nearly three years on the road, the band began work on Birthday, and sessions were proving difficult, to say the least.

"We had written like 80 different song ideas, and I feel like we were really trying to write to a particular sound — like, what we thought Cage the Elephant should sound like — and we were pigeonholing ourselves," frontman Matt Shultz revealed, laughing.

"We all started writing songs on our own, and they were really different from what we had written before, so we were like, 'We should use these for a side project,' " he continued. "And after a while, we realized most of the songs we liked were 'side-project songs,' [so] we made it our album."

Birthday showcases a fuzzy, rough-hewn side of Cage, which has as much to do with their decision to start fresh as it does with Shultz's personal struggles — and his newfound love of the Pixies.

"At the time, I had just broken up with my girlfriend of five years, and I'd drive around until like 3 or 4 in the morning listening to Doolittle," he said with a sigh. "It was my therapy, I guess."

And he carried that therapy into the songs he wrote for the album, which — like all great '90s alt-rock tunes — delve headlong into themes like heartbreak, loss and alienation, and they do so unapologetically.

"It's not something I think you should try to hide, and especially don't try to change your behavior," Shultz said. "You don't want to end up like some people, where their lives have been torn to shreds and they're, like, smeared in the press. I'd rather people know everything that's terrible about me than hide all the terrible things and have them come out."

So, with Birthday behind them, Cage the Elephant are pushing forward. They'll open a few dates for the Black Keys, then begin a headlining tour of their own next month. And like all the thrift-store Titans that went before them (seriously, if you're jonesing for an alt-rock fix, Thank You, Happy Birthday is the album for you), they're doing it all their way, mostly by the seat of their pants. After all, they've sort of earned that right.

"We try not to concern ourselves too much with strategic plans and all that," Shultz said, laughing. "We'll see what happens."

'Dark Knight Rises' Composer Doesn't Want To 'Just Go Over Old Ground'

'I try to invent and reinvent,' Hans Zimmer tells MTV News at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

With the momentum from the incredible success of Christopher Nolan's first two "Batman" films, "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight," the mounting pressure and fan demand for details on the forthcoming "The Dark Knight Rises" seems to increase every day. One need only glance at MTV News' recent compilation of "Rises" rumors to see how creative people can be, as well as how thirsty fans are for answers.

It's just difficult to get them — even when we find ourselves face-to-face with credible sources — but any news is good news, even in the form of a "yes," "no" or "maybe." Case in point: Oscar-winning film composer Hans Zimmer, who composed the "Batman Begins" and "Dark Knight" scores and will finish up Nolan's trilogy by composing the score for "The Dark Knight Rises."

When we caught up with Zimmer on the Critics' Choice Movie Awards red carpet, we tried our darndest to get some "Rises" music scoop by tossing him a softball question: Has Nolan already involved Zimmer in the plans for the film?

"Yes," Zimmer said with a smile. "And that's all I'm going to say."

So he knows the arc of the story and the villains, etc.?

"Possibly," he said. "I'm thinking, I'm working, and I can't tell you anything more."

We pushed just a bit, asking whether his new score will incorporate themes from the first two "Batman" films and whether he's thought about how to tie everything together.

"Sure, but the thing about Chris and myself is, of course what we try to do is we treat each one with the economy it deserves," he explained. "I try to invent and reinvent and not just go over old ground. I think that's the thing that was so exciting for people on 'The Dark Knight.' They knew we were doing a 'Batman' movie, but they had no idea it was going to be that sort of a 'Batman' movie."

So is Zimmer already hard at work on the new themes for the score, even though nothing has been filmed yet? "Could be," he teased. "Of course. Chris likes working that way, that I can give him music before he starts cutting. It's very different."

Check out everything we've got on "The Dark Knight Rises."

Matt Damon Recognized At Critics' Choice Awards For Water.org Charity

'True Grit' actor receives Joel Siegel Award.

While Matt Damon has taken the back seat to his "True Grit" co-stars Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld so far this awards season, the actor was acknowledged Friday night (January 14) by the Broadcast Film Critics Association during the 16th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards for his humanitarian efforts.

In a segment presented by Jimmy Kimmel and Emily Blunt, Damon was given the fourth annual Joel Siegel Award for Service to the Community. While Kimmel provided comic relief, joking that the Oscar winner is "the greatest guy in the world," the actor received serious accolades for his charity, Water.org.

Blunt, who stars with Damon in the upcoming film "The Adjustment Bureau," explained that the organization Damon co-founded with Gary White helps to "provide developing countries with safe drinking water and sanitation by partnering with local communities."

As Blunt delivered the staggering statistics that less than 1 percent of the Earth's water is drinkable and more than 1 billion people don't have access to clean water, Kimmel continued to kid with Damon, telling him, "Sean Penn is actually in Haiti right now ... carrying things!"

Kimmel, who gets the last laugh at Damon's expense every night on his late-night show, then cried foul on Damon's many awards, mocking, "You know how much water he wasted in that shower scene in 'School Ties'? A lot!"

Damon, playing as good a sport as ever to Kimmel's jabs, then took the stage to accept his award to a standing-ovation audience that included his "Good Will Hunting" collaborator Ben Affleck. After taking a shot back at Kimmel — "I literally have no idea why you're here," he quipped — Damon got serious about receiving what he described as "a wonderful honor."

The actor acknowledged the work of late film critic Joel Siegel, who, as Damon told the crowd, "Believed that you should use celebrity to improve the lives of others and he lived that way. So, I'm really honored to get this in his name."

Though plenty of the segment included joking around with Kimmel, Damon got very serious when he delivered the news that, "Every 15 seconds, a kid somewhere on planet Earth dies because they don't have access to clean water and sanitation."

Calling that information "disgusting and unacceptable and unnecessary," he added, "These are issues we've known how to solve here for 100 years in our country. ... Just imagine if we cured AIDS tomorrow and in 100 years people were still dying of it, 3 million of them a year. It's just really ridiculous."

Damon concluded his speech by thanking his partner, White, and informed viewers that by donating $25 on the Water.org website, they could give a child "clean water for life." He then promised that they would change the fact that 1 billion people do not have clean water and offered to viewers, "Feel free to join us."

With brief yet genuine words of praise from former colleagues, a flashy movie-clip mash-up and a musical tribute in his honor, Quentin Tarantino stepped into the Critics' Choice Movie Awards history books Friday night (January 14) after receiving the show's inaugural Music+Film Award.

Ice Cube started things off by telling everyone to hurry up and sit down so he could present before introducing an impressive clip reel that included Tarantino classics "Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction," "Jackie Brown," "Kill Bill: Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2" and "Inglourious Basterds."

Then, Maroon 5's Adam Levine (who, along with his bandmates, was moonlighting as the show's house band for the evening) hit the stage with his guitar for a performance of the "Dogs" musical number "Stuck in the Middle With You," which doubled as a tribute to late Stealers Wheel frontman Gerry Rafferty. That was followed by a saucy version of "Son of a Preacher Man" by Keri Hilson.

"Reservoir Dogs" castmember Tim Roth took the stage after Levine's and Hilson's performances to officially hand off the award to Tarantino, who was shown smiling from the audience throughout the tribute. Roth noted that no one deserves the award more than Tarantino and that he was happy to help "celebrate Quentin for using music so damn effectively."

Then the man himself graciously took the stage and talked about how he started filmmaking by hanging out alone in his room, playing records like Duane Eddy's "Rebel Rouser" and writing scenes to go along with them. "I'm kind of still doing the same thing right now," he joked.

What do you think of Quentin Tarantino's use of music in film? Let us know in the comments!

Drake Reveals Plans For Album With Lil Wayne

Drizzy jokes to Tim Westwood about rivaling Kanye and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne.

Jay-Z and Kanye West already have two potential challengers to their upcoming Watch the Throne. In an interview with U.K. radio personality Tim Westwood, Drake announced that he and Lil Wayne are working on a joint album of their own, and he took a couple of jabs at Hova and Yeezy's project in the process.

"I'll be on [Tha Carter IV], though ... We've done a great song ... and then we're going to do another one, and another one," the Young Money MC said. "We still got to do that album. I heard some other guys are coming out with an album, too. There's two other rappers that are coming out with an album together. ... I don't know where they got that idea but ..."

Westwood probably knew Drake was referring to Jay-Z and West but played into the coy act, saying, "I'm very slow; can you just break it down a bit simpler for me please?"

Then Drake continued, "I just caught wind of it through the grapevine, that there's some other album coming out with two guys rapping on it too."

"Oh, those two ... you mean the older guys," Westwood said.

"Oh, I didn't say that," Drake replied. "They look young to me ... in their movements."

West and Drake haven't been as close as they seemed back in 2009, when Yeezy directed the up-and-comer's video for "Best I Ever Had." The Toronto rapper recently was left off of the final version of West's "All of the Lights," but he told Shade 45 radio that he was OK with it.

Drake's sophomore album, Take Care, is due later this year.

Outkast MC freshens up the pop star's Cannibal cut with rare feature.

It seems the only way to find spankin'-new Andre 3000 lyrics these days is on the odd remix, and the ATLien definitely picked a left-of-center choice for his latest feature.

On Friday (January 14), a remix of Ke$ha's Cannibal track "Sleazy" hit the Web, outfitted with some brand-new bars from the elusive Outkast MC. The southern spitter uses the revamp to muse about a young kid dealing with a deadbeat dad over the song's bouncy thump.

"We start out so cute in our baby pictures/ That mama shot for our daddy so that he wouldn't forget you/ He forgot anyway, but hey, one day he'll remember/ If not, he's human, I'm human, you human, we'll forgive him," he spits.

After sounding off about daddy issues, Stacks then rhymes about his playful relationship with the glitter-friendly poptress.

"I call her Keisha, she like it because it's hood to her/ She call me Andre 6000 because I'm good to her," he says.

The remix follows a slew of random guest appearances on records by everyone from DJ Unk to Rich Boy as fans await another full-length release from 'Dre. Back in 2008, the Love Below lyricist broke down his affinity for jumping on the occasional remix to MTV News, explaining that cooking up another quality solo record is no easy task.

"I've been doing remixes here and there, and let me tell you, thank God for remixes. I wanna tell everybody who's been checking out the remixes and things like the John Legend song ['Green Light']: In this day and age, those are the things that have kind of been keeping me alive. Because it takes me awhile to record albums," he said. "I have to kind of build up something to say."

What do you think of Andre 3000's verse on Ke$ha's "Sleazy" remix? Let us know in the comments!

When Justin Bieber flirted with superstar vixen Kim Kardashian last summer, his fans lobbed tons of e-hate her way. But luckily for Christina Milian, she got off easy when she tweeted a picture of her smooching the teen superstar on the cheek.

MTV News recently caught up with the singer/actress, and she dished about meeting the "Baby" crooner — and giving the Biebs some sugar — while both were shooting separate episodes of the crime drama "CSI."

"When I walked in the trailer, I didn't know Justin was gonna be there. And I was like, 'Oh my gosh, you're here!' I guess he was waiting in the trailer, in the makeup trailer — not mine, but the makeup trailer — and I got to meet him for a second. I was like, 'Hey, do you mind after I get my makeup and hair done, let's take a picture after we're done shooting?' He was like, 'Of course,' " she said. The "Dip It Low" songstress said she was upfront with Bieber about sharing her affection. "So I hunted him down after lunch because I was done working for the day, and I was like, 'I was thinking of planting a kiss on you. Do you mind?' I went with the cheek."

Milian quickly laughed off any idea that the two are canoodling full-time.

"I did it for fun, anyway, and the whole hype and everybody always talking about this whole thing that happened at New Year's with Justin," Milian said of the major attention the teen star got when he was spotted vacationing with Selena Gomez. "So I was like, 'How fun would it be if I actually just kissed him on the cheek?' I had a little humor to go with it and tweeted it, like, immediately, and I got a billion responses."

However, unlike Kardashian, Bieber's legions of fans didn't rip the starlet apart.

"So far, no death threats. Everybody was really nice. I made sure to say, 'Hey, ladies, don't be mad. Guys, don't hate,' " she said. "But I think everybody knows I'm a lightweight. I like to have fun. It's not serious; I'm not trying to take your man. And he's, hello, 16 or something? So let's keep it really real. But he is a cutie pie. But yeah, all the girls handled it pretty well. They were like, 'Oh my gosh, how cute! You're so lucky!' And I was like, 'Well, maybe it'll be you too,' and I even wrote back to a couple of them. They were really nice."

50 Cent Meant No 'Malice' In Stock Tweets, COO Says

'I guess that night that we were swelled with pride,' Jason Krywko tells MTV News of Fif tweeting about company behind his new headphone line.

It's still unclear whether the Securities Exchange Commission will look into investigating 50 Cent over messages he posted to his Twitter account encouraging his followers to buy stock in H&H Imports. But according to Jason Krywko, the chief operating officer of Sleek Audio, the company behind 50's headphone line, the MC is only guilty of being excited about a new business venture.

After it was discovered that H&H Imports is the parent company of TV Goods Inc., which has a stake in Sleek Audio and is distributing Fif's new line of headphones, Sleek by 50 Cent, eyebrows were raised about whether the Queens rapper had violated any ethical rules.

"For 50, this is like watching a baby grow," Krywko told MTV News by phone on Friday (January 14). "For nine months, he's been cultivating it, nurturing it, helping make sure everything's all right with it, supporting us. I guess that night that we were overwhelmed and swelled with pride," the 31-year old explained of their announcement of the headphones at CES Las Vegas. "I don't think there was any malice or [negative] intention behind it."

The rapper joined Sleek Audio representatives at the Vegas trade show over the weekend, and according to Krywko, news of the new gadget was well-received. 50 soon let off a string of tweets. "HNHI is the stock symbol for TVG there launching 15 different products. they are no joke get in now," he wrote on Saturday. He followed that with, "TVG's stock went from 5cent to 10 in one day. You can double your money right now. Just get what you can afford."

Those tweets were subsequently deleted but the perception lingers that 50 may have been complicit in artificially manipulating the stock price of a "penny stock" (trading for less than a dollar) via positive or misleading Twitter word of mouth — a financial scheme also known as a "pump and dump."

The marketing and distribution company TV Goods, to which 50 referred in those tweets, has an equity stake in Sleek Audio. Fif has a minority stake in Sleek, Krywko confirmed to MTV News, and a January 6 press release named the "Get Rich or Die Tryin' " rapper as a minority shareholder in TV Goods. So it would appear that Fif is an investor in both companies, and ultimately stands to reap from their success.

While Krywko declined to comment on the business relationship between 50 and TV Goods Inc., he said, "His relationship with them is separate from [the one] with us.

"Anybody that sees 50 knows he tweets a hundred times a day," Krywko continued. "50's made a lot of money off things like Vitamin Water and all that, and doesn't have to try to pump something up to make money. He's got a million deals sitting on his desk at any time of the day worth 10 times that."

On Monday, 50 took to Twitter again, perhaps seeking to clarify his earlier tweets. "I own HNHI stock thoughts on it are my opinion," he tweeted. "Talk to financial advisor about it."

He went on to add, "HNHI is the right investment for me it may or may not be right for u! Do ur homework."

Sleek by 50 Cent headphones are due in stores in April and they're among the first sets to use a wireless audio technology called KLEER, which allows them to transmit CD-quality audio without cable.

Alicia Silverstone has, like, so totally grown up.

The actress, who shot to fame as the ditzy, fashion-forward 16-year-old rich kid in the hit 1995 movie "Clueless," is pregnant. The star's rep confirmed to People that Silverstone and her husband of five years, musician Christopher Jarecki, are expecting their first child together. The star has also been spotted tooling around Los Angeles in casual gear, sporting her growing baby bump.

Silverstone, who has stayed busy since her Cher days appearing in the Broadway play "Time Stands Still" and writing the cookbook "The Kind Diet," said last year that she has been eagerly anticipating motherhood.

"I've been wanting to have a baby since I was 2 years old," she told People. "I'm destined to be a mother."

Silverstone also said she loved portraying a pregnant woman onstage in "Still": "Wearing a pregnancy suit was so much fun," she said. "I loved the feeling of pretending to be pregnant and having little arms and legs and this big belly."

In addition to expanding her family, Silverstone has some professional projects on the horizon and will reunite with "Clueless" writer/director Amy Heckerling for the upcoming flick "Vamps." Silverstone will star opposite Sigourney Weaver and Krysten Ritter as a young vampire with a taste for blood and New York nightlife.

Silverstone also will appear in the upcoming flick "Butter," alongside Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde and Ty Burrell from ABC's "Modern Family." The film tells the story of a young orphan (Yara Shahidi) who displays a talent for crafting butter sculptures — a development that threatens to derail the dreams of Garner's character, who is set on winning a butter-carving competition in a small Midwestern town.

Share your congratulations for the family in the comments!

According to music producer Danja, Britney Spears is still hard at work on her March album release. The producer, who has worked with Spears on songs like "Gimme More," "Break the Ice" and "Kill the Lights" in the past, reveals that he and the pop superstar are still working on tracks together.

"Britney, I don't have too much news, but I'm always creating something," he told MTV News on Thursday, just as Spears' first single, "Hold It Against Me," reached the top of iTunes charts worldwide. "Still recording. She still has songs to cut, but we'll see what happens."

When asked what kinds of songs he's throwing together for Britney, his comments echoed those he made last June. "I just took my track level up. I just wanted to make sure it's still hard-hitting and still that same energy that people heard, but very today's time," he said. "So we'll see. I don't know what the project will end up being, but we'll see. We did have a meeting like a year ago, and they wanted it to sound urban, hard-hitting, not so much dance, but just that similar sound."

Danja says that he has yet to actually get in the studio with the star, but he has been in conversation with her about any potential songs that might be included on her still untitled album. "Well, for me, this time around I haven't been in with her yet," he revealed. "It's just been us writing and creating and really nailing a sound or a song more than anything."

In addition to working on tracks for the album, Spears is also hard at work on the video for her first single. Her choreographer Brian Friedman spoke to MTV's "The Seven" this week, describing what fans will see when the video drops.

"I think you can expect the unexpected from Britney," he said. "She is taking risks when it comes to fashion, when it comes to choreography, when it comes to this music — she's grown up so much, and she's pushing 30 years old soon, so she's a strong, independent woman and I think she wants to show that."

Miley Cyrus Post-'Hannah Montana': What's Next?

It's hard to believe that after Sunday's final episode of "Hannah Montana," Miley Cyrus will officially leave her alter ego behind. After four seasons, 98 episodes, a full-length movie and a 3-D concert film, Cyrus will be hanging up her blond wig for good.

As the show wraps up, it begs the question: What's next for the teen queen? Well, Cyrus, 18, seems to be putting recent tabloid troubles behind her and concentrating on her very busy movie career. She has several flicks in the works, including "LOL," in which she stars alongside Demi Moore and "Twilight" star Ashley Greene.

"Miley is a phenomenon — she's accomplished so much in the movie, TV and music worlds that it's not surprising how much attention was attracted during filming," co-star Greene said. "But we're both professional and understand that we're there to do our jobs. Work was our number-one priority, and everything else was background."

Miley's also currently filming the action-comedy flick "So Undercover," in which she plays an FBI agent.

"I've been actually doing all kinds of stuff. ... I've been doing fighting, like learning how to box ... mostly street fighting, so knowing how to, like, if someone comes up from behind you, being able to defend yourself," she said about her role. "I have a trainer and I have bruises everywhere from kicking the bags. ... And I've learned how to use guns, which was really scary." Filming for "So Undercover" is well under way, and she's been hanging out with co-star Kelly Osbourne. In addition to "So Undercover," Miley's set to work on the thriller "Wake," and is rumored to be working on getting her supernatural romance "The Big Bang" adapted from a music video to the big screen.

Movies aren't the only thing Miley is working on these days. While she's made it clear she wants to take a break from music to focus on her bustling film career, it's rumored that a Miley-Nick Jonas reunion "double disc duet album" is in the works.

Music producer Shakur Green, who has worked with Miley in the past, tweeted that he's working on tracks with Miley and former beau, Nick Jonas. "Can't release any additional information about the project," he shared. "Other than it's going to be one of the top albums of 2011."

Joe Jonas Wants Fans To Dance To His Solo Album

'They've been wanting this for me for a long time,' he tells MTV News of support from Jonas Brothers Nick and Kevin.

The Jonas Brothers always seem to stand by one another, even if that means stepping away from the trio to try out new projects. Last year, Joe and Kevin gave Nick their blessing when he released a solo LP. And now that Joe is working on new music, his brothers are showing him the same support.

"I think there's a lot of emotions that I feel about doing my solo project. I think I was nervous in the beginning," Joe told MTV News when we visited him and producer Danja at the studio.

"I wanted to have my brothers' support, and the fact they're both so excited for me and they've been wanting this for me for a long time [is great]."

As part of Nick Jonas and the Administration, Nick released the bluesy, pop rock album Who I Am in 2010, but Joe's project will likely have a different sound.

"To be able to go on a musical journey for a while and finally, with finding Danja and working with him, we've been able to collaborate on something that really works for me," Joe explained. "And [to] find me and not try to mold it into something it's not, to try and be myself and my music and kind of tell stories and be honest and just have something ... [that] when people hear it, hopefully they'll be able to dance to it and have a good time."

While their solo musical directions may differ, Joe said he learned some things from Nick.

"I think the biggest thing that I saw from [Nick], he just had a good time," he said. "He made a record that was for him and this one is for me and my fans. To be able to get in here everyday and just vibe out, we're all just having a great time in here. The biggest piece is that I'm on the journey. ... It's just gonna be a fun vibe to everything."
