With a little more than three weeks to go before his November 4 release date, Lil Wayne's Young Money/ Cash Money family is already planning a celebratory "Weezy Weekend." In a phone call to MTV's "The Seven," broadcast on Tuesday's (October 5) episode, Wayne revealed a surprising choice for a guest performer at a homecoming concert in his honor: the Material Girl.

"Madonna," Wayne deadpanned. Of course, he quickly added with a laugh, "That was a joke. It doesn't matter, man, I just want to see the fans and I want them to see me, that's all."

The rapper also talked about how he looks forward to the piles of mail that fans send him.

"Honestly, I await the mail every day, just to open one up and see what somebody is saying. Reading the fan mail, man, you never expect what you see when you open those letters," Wayne said. "Somebody talking about, 'I have this incurable disease, but your music makes me feel like I don't even have a disease,' " he marveled. "You can't even believe it."

On Monday, the Grammy-winner was placed in solitary confinement stemming from a violation in May, when prison guards found he'd been keeping a pair of headphones and an MP3 player charger in his cell.

"All legends have their [flaws]," Weezy's protégé, Drake, told CBS' Katie Couric on Tuesday in response to a question about Wayne's confinement. "It's definitely unfortunate what just happened [but] I think the most important thing is we're just counting down the days. It's not 150 days, not 200 days, not 800 days, it's 29 more days. ... We have our Miami Heat tickets together. I'm just waiting for my man to come home."

Who would you like to see performing at Wayne's potential homecoming concert? Share your ideas in the comments!

Waka Flocka Flame Says Tupac Led Him To <i>Flockaveli</i> Title

Late rapper's 'Makaveli' album inspired Waka to check out Niccolò Machiavelli's writing.

Waka Flocka Flame knew naming his debut album Flockaveli would invite fans to compare him to Tupac Shakur, who had adopted the name Makaveli as an homage to Italian philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli just before his first posthumous album was released. But the Gucci Mane protégé said the Shakur album title inspired him to seek out the writer's work.

Waka said he shares Machiavelli's tactics, which were famously chronicled in his book "The Art of War."

"Tupac introduced me to the [writing] of Machiavelli," Waka told MTV News. "That's why I made that. I can't just, 'Oh, Tupac did that, so I'm gonna do that too.' If people read, they would love that man. That man is a mind-game genius. I read the Machiavelli war-tactic books, his biography, everything. That man is just like sticks and stones, bad. You see Waka Flocka, what do you think? Negativity. You read Machiavelli? Negativity. My brain, I'm so sharp, I can play stupid on the camera and they think I'm dumb. So really. you just playing yourself. I'm so ahead of y'all. That's for the bloggers."

Perhaps that's what led the Southern lyricist to lash out at BET executive Stephen Hill over the weekend. Waka performed at the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards taping and drew Hill's ire for reportedly leaving the event early. The two exchanged Twitter barbs but eventually reconciled.

"I wasn't even upset, honestly," Waka told MTV News about his early departure from the taping. "My label had some stuff set up for me to leave and do some stuff for my album. So I guess by me leaving, everybody was like, 'Oh, he mad.' But I just dipped. I ain't know what was going on."

Will Waka's album title inspire you to check out Machiavelli too? Let us know in the comments!

Emma Stone Cast In 'Spider-Man' Reboot As Gwen Stacey

This week is shaping up to be a big one for comic book movie news. First, Zack Snyder was announced as the "Superman" reboot director, and now Emma Stone has been confirmed in a leading role alongside "The Social Network" actor Andrew Garfield in Marc Webb's reimagining of "Spider-Man" — albeit with a bit of bait and switch.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Stone had been offered the role of Spidey's love interest Mary Jane Watson, but Sony announced Tuesday (October 5) that the "Easy A" actress will be playing the web-slinger's other love interest, Gwen Stacey.

The Mary Jane Watson role seemed a perfect fit, if only because both MJ and Stone are redheads (at least that is Stone's current hair color). However, according to a statement from Webb, it seems Stone has more in common with Gwen Stacey than we originally thought.

"The chemistry between Andrew and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice," Webb said. "At the heart of the story of Peter Parker is not only the amazing Spider-Man, but also an ordinary teenager who is wondering what he has to do to get the girl. Andrew and Emma will bring everything audiences expect to these roles, but also make them their own," he explained. "Much to my surprise, it was fun to find out that our choice for Gwen (Emma) is also a natural blonde."

Now all eyes and ears will be tuned in to see who will be cast as Mary Jane, a role most recently occupied by Kirsten Dunst in the Tobey Maguire/ Sam Raimi adaptation. Perhaps the ladies who were reportedly up for the role of Gwen might also be considered for MJ: Dianna Agron ("Glee"), Mia Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland"), Georgina Haig ("Wasted on the Young") or Dominique McElligott (indie hit "Moon").

"Spider-Man" will reportedly begin production in December and will be released in theaters nationwide in 3-D on July 3, 2012.

Check out everything we've got on "Spider-Man."

Lil Wayne Won't Serve More Time Because Of MP3 Player

Rapper still expected to be released November 4, correction official tells MTV News.

Lil Wayne will have plenty of time to himself during his final four weeks in jail at New York's Rikers Island. The rapper (born Dwayne Carter) was placed in solitary confinement on Monday as a result of an incident in May when guards found a pair of headphones and an MP3 player charger in his cell.

Luckily for Wayne, who has been behind bars since March as a result of a plea deal on a gun-possession charge, the infraction won't push back his tentative November 4 release. "It doesn't change his projected release date," said Stephen Morello, a spokesperson for the New York City Department of Correction. "It's a serous infraction because it's contraband, but it's not a weapon, and by comparison to a more violent infraction of the rules, like assaulting another inmate or an officer, [it's not as serious]." Why is Wayne just now getting put in solitary if the incident happened back in May? Morello explained that Rikers officials prioritize inmates who are guilty of violent infractions, so, in essence, Weezy had to wait for his turn in solitary until the harder cases finished their time in the hole.

As far as Morello knows, Wayne, 28, has not had any other infractions since May. As a result of the rule violation, though, Wayne will spend up to 23 hours a day in "punitive segregation," where he will be allowed one hour of solo recreation a day and will only be allowed to leave his cell for attorney visits, religious services or medical care. "Other than that, he will be confined to his cell, he'll have his meals there, and he'll have reduced phone privileges and not even use the public phone; one will be brought to him," Morello said. Wayne's lawyer, Stacey Richman, declined to comment for this article.

The Grammy-winning rapper pleaded guilty in October 2009 to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, admitting that he had a loaded handgun on his tour bus when it was stopped after his first headlining show in New York in 2007; the deal allowed him to cut down a potential one-year sentence to eight months with good behavior.

In addition to the headphones and charger officials found inside a potato chip bag in a garbage can in Wayne's cell — inmates can only listen to music on gear sold at the jail commissary — they also found the MP3 player itself in another inmate's cell.

Cash Money Records boss Bryan "Baby" Williams" said a big party is being planned for Weezy's release, most likely in Miami. "We still haven't really made up our mind," Birdman told MTV News. "I think what's important, we want to see family first. If the concert happens, it happens. But right now, we just want to come home and see our family and party, I think. That's what we gonna do: just come to Miami, and just party for a minute. Work and party and play. Have the whole team out here, and we gonna do it up. Miami is gonna be Weezy world. Weezy weekend."

Drake Explains Sentiment Behind 'I Get Lonely Too'

New track, off upcoming mixtape It's Never Enough, drops on Tuesday.

While fans eagerly await Drake's R&B mixtape It's Never Enough, Drizzy has been carefully releasing news on what they can expect from it. And on Tuesday morning (October 5), he dropped one of the tape's tracks, "I Get Lonely Too," a delicately slow-moving track produced by Noah "40" Shebib.

When MTV News caught up with him during VMA rehearsals, Drake talked a bit about "I Get Lonely Too." Given his platinum debut album, the adoration of women and girls everywhere and the support of rap's premier crew, Young Money, you wouldn't necessarily think Drake could be lonely. But he explained that "you could be lonely with a bunch of people around you."

"I'm envious of friends of mine that have great committed relationships," he said. "When people call home to check on their girl or they say, 'I'm not going to go out tonight. I'm just going to spend the night with my girl.' That hits me, man. I just don't have that."

At the ripe age of 23, Drake said that he's had his fun. He's experienced the rush of nightclubs and strip clubs, but they have become bland.

"And also, I'm not going to be the one to drag my own name through the dirt, so to be with a different woman every night is a terrible decision," he said, explaining why he resists the temptation to sow his wild oats.

"If I can find a connection with somebody that can understand what goes on in this life — and when I say somebody who understands, I don't mean a girl that understands that I'm going to be with other girls; I mean just a girl that's supportive and makes it easy to exist and laugh," he said. "Laughing is a big thing. Conversation's got to flow. We got to laugh at the same things."

Semi Precious Weapons Recall Overcoming 'Nightmare' Bullying

Posted: 05 Oct 2010 03:00 AM PDT

'There's always the kid who gets it the worst, and I was that kid,' frontman Justin Tranter tells MTV News of high school years.
By James Montgomery

As you can probably guess based on pretty much, well, everything about them, the guys of Semi Precious Weapons weren't exactly your average high school kids. Because of that, they were bullied just like every other teen who dares to stray from the social norm, and it's why, in light of the suicide of Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi — and a host of other gay teen deaths in recent months — they decided to tell their stories to MTV News.

SPW hope that, much like the message of the "It Gets Better" campaign, they can convince their fellow outcasts that, yes, life does improve once high school is over. Very much so, in fact.

"In every school, there's always the kid who gets it the worst, and I was, for sure, that kid," frontman Justin Tranter said. "Every time you had to get in a line that was boys and girls, it was like my worst nightmare. A lot of kids I know got made fun of for being gay; that was not my issue, I was just called a girl endlessly. I definitely was that kid. And when I went to high school, my first semester in public high school, it actually got very, very violent, to the point where I had to switch schools," he continued. "But luckily, I'm really blessed because my family was so cool that I never really felt bad about it ... [and] I used it as motivation to do something cooler. So instead of just switching schools, I convinced my parents to let me go to the arts high school in the city, and I had to audition and get in, and it was a very nerve-racking experience, because not only did I want to go to an arts school, but I needed to leave the school."

But while Tranter was picked on for his gender issues, SPW bassist Cole Whittle's experience was a bit different. He was both bully and the bullied, which gives him a rather unique perspective on things.

"I went through a period where I realized what a little a--hole I was, and went around my middle school and actually apologized to a bunch of kids. And then, in high school, I wouldn't say I was bullied, but being a musician wasn't cool," he explained. "I went from being a jock and a wrestler to being a musician over a summer. I showed up dressed like Kurt Cobain, and my friends were like, 'What the?' So, it has nothing to do with orientation, it just has to do with 'you don't look exactly like me,' and I think that's terrible.

"And also, bullying is worse now than it's ever been in human history, because now you can be a cowardly bully. ... Making fun of a kid 20 years ago in front of his face was bullying, but now you can sit at home and be an anonymous bully and reach three times the audience with your stupid computer," he continued. "Back in the day, the worst thing you could do was have four people on speakerphone and call some kid a loser, and it's like, 'Aw, that sucks.' But now it's getting to the point where it literally can cripple you. So if anybody has a bully they want to send to me, I'll choke him out, immediately."

And obviously, both men are living proof that life does get better once high school ends. They tour the world with Lady Gaga, party hard (and often) and command a loyal legion of fans. In fact, they consider themselves, as Tranter puts it, "the coolest guys on the planet." So much so that they wrote a song about their experiences — one that has become an anthem for their fellow outcasts.

"We have a song called 'Statues of Ourselves,' and now, when we're playing these headline shows, we look out, and whether it's girls who are overweight, or whether it's teens with gender issues, or whether it's the jock dude at our show who feels slightly out of place in our world, when that song starts, you can see [it] in people's faces," Tranter said. "This song it kind of, for me at least, it's my personal anthem and my friends' anthem, that it doesn't matter that people think we're losers, we think we're cool enough that we're going to build statues of ourselves."

And if all of that isn't enough, Whittle has one last piece of advice for anyone who's being bullied or feels like they just can't go on.

"Just know that the guys picking on you or saying sh--, one day, they'll be sitting in a Cheesecake Factory somewhere staring at their wife," he laughed. "And you'll be doing what we get to do every night. Trust me."

Will Ferrell On PBR, Career Decisions And 'Everything Must Go'

Posted: 05 Oct 2010 01:55 AM PDT

'Just an old, classic, working-class beer,' he tells MTV News of the creative choice.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Will Ferrell

Nick made a few bad decisions on a business trip — drinking a frat party's worth of booze, sleeping with another woman even though he's married — and now he's found himself without a job or a wife. He doesn't have anywhere to live either, because his spouse has tossed all his belongings onto their front yard, locked him out of the house and cut off his bank account.

At least Nick's still got his beer, his dearly beloved Pabst Blue Ribbon. Will Ferrell, who plays Nick in the indie drama "Everything Must Go," swills more PBR during the course of the film than is likely consumed in hipster-happy Williamsburg, Brooklyn, during a typical weekend. That brand of brewski was one of Ferrell's special requests for the character, and the fact that writer/director Dan Rush said OK was just one of the reasons the actor signed on.

"We should have a PBR tour of the movie, but that might send a mixed message, considering the tone of the film," he told MTV News while promoting the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival. "But I did specifically ask for PBR. Just an old, classic, working-class beer."

The main reason Ferrell joined "Everything," though, was the simple fact that he felt the script was original and that the story hadn't been told before on the big screen. It had been told within the pages of a book. "Everything," which Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions reportedly bought for more than $3 million, is based on a Raymond Carver short story. In the film, Nick decides to stage a yard sale to raise some beer money. As he sells off his gear and takes trip after trip down memory lane with yearbooks and old sports trophies, Nick starts to think that maybe he can turn his life around.

Ferrell himself has never experienced a midlife crisis akin to what Nick undergoes, but the comedian did decide to join the drama at a time when he was changing the way he chooses each of his projects.

"I've been lucky in that I haven't had [a midlife crisis] yet," he said. "In terms of work, I had come out of a period where I thought, 'I really want to make choices that are important to me and not so much about trying to make a hit movie.' This was a byproduct of that kind of decision-making."

Drake: Lil Wayne Is 'The Icon'

Posted: 05 Oct 2010 01:13 AM PDT

'It's rare you get people like that,' he says in interview with CBS News' Katie Couric.
By James Dinh

Before the 2009 Grammy Awards, Lil Wayne sat down for a blunt conversation with CBS News' Katie Couric. And on Tuesday (October 5), Weezy's Young Money protégé Drake sat down for an interview with the anchor that was broadcast on UStream. Drake opened up about why Lil Wayne is so important to the music industry, hip-hop's attitudes toward women and how he'd like to collaborate with Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake.

Drake told Couric that he's not the only person who looks up to his mentor. "I think Wayne is the closest thing we have to an iconic figure in my generation," he said. Comparing Weezy to the likes of Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix, Drake continued, "To me, he is the rock star, he is the icon, he is the messiah that people look up to and say, 'This guy really controls the market.' It's not just his music. It's his life ... it's rare you get people like that.

While Couric acknowledged Weezy's expectional talent, she added that it bears mentioning, "He's also in prison right now." The anchor asked Drake what he made of news that Wayne had been placed in solitary confinement for the remainder of his sentence, due to end in November.

"All legends have their [flaws]," Drake countered. "It's definitely unfortunate what just happened [but] I think the most important thing is we're just counting down the days. It's not 150 days, not 200 days, not 800 days, it's 29 more days. ... We have our Miami Heat tickets together. I'm just waiting for my man to come home."

When asked how he feels about hip-hop undervaluing women Drake replied, "I feel like there's a fine line between demeaning and fun and wit. I feel a lot of the music like me and Wayne make, for example, is fun and witty. We have a song like 'I Just Want to F--- Every Girl in the World.' That's one of our biggest songs together. Is it to be taken literal and dissected? No, it's more just fun, witty moments. Hip-hop has elements of comedy in it. That makes for the best quotes. Punchlines are made up of clever wit. That's where we strive."

Drake is notable for switching it up between singing and rapping, and he revealed that he has much love for both of his talents. "The feeling of finishing a great rap verse is the ultimate euphoric feeling for me. I love to finish a great rap verse. It's very satisfying," he explained. "But to get my feelings out, sometimes it can't be rap. Sometimes I really have to sing. Sometimes the emotion is too intense or too genuine."

Drake also told Couric that he is in the process of brushing off his acting chops during those brief moments of tour downtime. "I am definitely reading scripts and trying to find my way back [to acting]," he said,

The MC has his upcoming R&B mixtape It's Never Enough on the horizon, and he's already thinking ahead, telling Couric that he'd like to work with Beyoncé, Andre 3000 and Justin Timberlake on future projects.

"I hope I get a chance to work with B," he said. "I'm always in awe of her talent ... Andre 3000 from Outkast. I'd still love to work with him and Justin Timberlake. Me and Justin are friends. We're tight, but we haven't worked together yet."

Bruce Willis Talks 'Fantastic Four,' 'Unbreakable 2' Rumors

Any time we get to talk to action movie hero Bruce Willis, we're almost guaranteed a good time — like during our livestream show at San Diego Comic-Con, where Willis had some fun with our MTV News crew during a playful chat.

We had the opportunity to catch up with the superstar again while he was doing promotion for his upcoming action/heist flick "Red." So we seized the opportunity and asked Willis his thoughts on rumors that he would supply the voice of The Thing in the "Fantastic Four" reboot.

"[It's] a rumor, but I love rumors," Willis said. "I haven't gotten that call yet," he admitted.

"It's a good rumor," his "Red" co-star Karl Urban chimed in.

"It is a good rumor," Willis agreed. "I like that film. Good comic too."

Another rumor that always needs to be addressed is the possible "Unbreakable" sequel, for which Willis said he is "absolutely" game — if it ever happens.

"You better talk some sense into [M.] Night Shyamalan, see if he can come around," Willis said.

We told Willis that we'd be be chatting with the director in question very soon, should he have any message for us to pass along.

"I don't want to put him on the spot, because I've already had a conversation with him," Willis said. "But I think a lot of people would like to see a sequel to that film."

Until the day that heavily hyped sequel gets a green light, however, we turn to the words of Shyamalan, who told us recently that he's using his original idea for the "Unbreakable" sequel in a different film.

"I cannibalized the idea for the sequel to 'Unbreakable' for one of the 'Night Chronicles,'" revealed Shyamalan.

"It was such a cool idea for a villain, and it was actually originally in the script for 'Unbreakable,' and it was too much," he said of his reasons for excising the element that was supposed to become "Unbreakable 2." "There were too many villains, so I pulled this villain out and was like, 'I'll make this the second flick.'"

"I fleshed it out more and more, and thought, 'This could be a standalone movie,'" he said. "I'll just say it: the third 'Night Chronicles' movie is what would have been the sequel [to 'Unbreakable']. So now I need to come up with a new idea."

Do you want to see an "Unbreakable" sequel? What about Willis voicing The Thing for "Fantastic Four?" Sound off in the comments!

Taylor Swift Talks <i>Speak Now,</i> Taylor Lautner

Swifts tells Glamour she's 'pretty interested to hear the response from the guys I've written about' on her new album.

In the new issue of Glamour, Taylor Swift opened up about the past two (very active) years of her life. The interview touches on everything from the singer's relationship with Taylor Lautner to the now-infamous Kanye West incident at the 2009 VMAs — but if you think she doesn't pull any punches in the cover article, just wait until you hear her new album, Speak Now, which is due October 25.

"I'm not only excited about sharing the songs with fans," Swift said. "I'm also pretty interested to hear the response from the guys I've written about on this record."

At the VMAs last month, Swift debuted "Innocent," a song from the album that was almost certainly directed at West, while lead Speak single "Mine" is about falling in love with a man who "made a rebel out of a careless man's careful daughter." So clearly, she's singing from the heart, and she's not afraid to get personal either.

"Everything that happens to me gets put into a song," Swift explained. "For some reason, I'm really comfortable talking about my personal life in songs. There, I don't hold back: names, dates, times, expressions on people's faces, exactly where we were and how it felt, what I wish I would have said to them in the moment."

It's not all acrimonious, though. Swift also revealed that, despite splitting with Lautner, he remains one of her "best friends." She added that she's looking for a man "who loves what he does. ... These days, I look for character and honesty and trust." And who knows, in that search, she might just find fodder for the follow-up to Speak Now.

"I like to write about relationships," she said. "I like it when my friends come over and we crowd around the piano and sing Journey songs at the top of our lungs. ... And I like things that make me feel 7 again."

Black Eyed Peas To Go Back To <i>The Beginning</i>

Follow-up to chart-smashing The E.N.D. drops November 30.

The Black Eyed Peas have already taken millions of us to The E.N.D., so it only makes sense that on their upcoming album they're going to take us back to The Beginning. That's the name of the sequel to last year's nearly triple-platinum album, which just last week fell out of the top 40 on the Billboard albums chart after more than a year on the tally. A spokesperson for the band's label confirmed the title of the LP and its November 30 release date to MTV News.

In a recent Dipdive.com interview from the set of will.i.am and Nicki Minaj's "Check It Out" video, BEP leader will.i.am revealed that the band has a new collaborator on the disc: Damien "DJ Ammo" LeRoy, who worked on four songs. According to his online bio, the little known, Los Angeles-based Ammo regularly DJs all over the world and has played parties for Will, BEP singer Fergie and Outkast. Ammo is also behind remixes for the Veronicas and the BEPs and produced Kelis' single "4th of July (Fireworks)," which was released on Will's label via Interscope.

Will said that in addition to producing three songs himself on the 12-track Beginning, dance-floor master David Guetta had a hand in producing two others. Describing the prequel to The Associated Press back in July, Will described it as symbolizing "growth, new beginnings and starts, fresh new perspective."

The Peas have a tough act to follow, considering The E.N.D. is certified double-platinum in the U.S. and has produced three #1 singles, including the mega-smashes "I Gotta Feeling" and "Boom Boom Pow." A first single from the album is tentatively due in October and while fans haven't heard it yet, will.i.am recently broke down his hit-making strategy for MTV's "The Seven."

"We call it 'A-B-ing.' Anything you make, there's nothing new under the sun. So there's always an 'A and B' to whatever your approach is," he said of producing smashes for everyone from Usher to Estelle and Nicki Minaj. "So if you want a song to be a big #1 smash, then you have to play a Michael Jackson song while you're making your song."

He said using an artist such as Jackson as a benchmark will usually let a producer know if a track really has that "It" factor. "What you don't want to do is have a 'hit record' and then turn it on and it isn't as loud as Michael Jackson's."

Drake Explains Lil Wayne's Return To Rap For <i>No Ceilings</i>

Mixtape Flashback: Lil Wayne's No Ceilings

Last October, Lil Wayne put down his guitar and came back to his microphone, making a triumphant return to the mixtape market with the release of the street-oriented No Ceilings mixtape. Wayne's underground opus was a commercial success, spawning radio singles while paving a direct path for other mixtape-based projects from his rap peers, including Fabolous and Jim Jones.

As was the case with Young Money partner-in-rhyme Drake on So Far Gone, fans salivated over Weezy's dominating wordplay on a wide selection of beats. But according to Drizzy Drake, Wayne's reunion with his core audience was a direct result of his isolation from hip-hop while recording the rock fused album Rebirth, which almost left the mixtape in limbo.

Taking a page from the Dwayne Carter playbook, Drake said he chose a path similar to his mentor's, leaving close to no room for creative input from outsiders while in the process of recording his upcoming R&B mixtape It's Never Enough.

"[Wayne] had been doing a lot of rock music for Rebirth, and it stemmed from people being like, 'When are we gonna hear some rap? When are you gonna rap? When are you gonna rap?' " Drake told us in Miami. "Wayne doesn't like to be told what he should be doing, so he just kept doing rock music, like, 'Watch, I'm gonna show you. This rock thing is going to work.' And it does work for him. I think whatever he chooses to do works, but I think he got to that point that I would get to as well, that I'm getting to now working on this R&B tape."

Drake said he wasn't around for the bulk of the No Ceilings recording sessions, but the end result was the radio smash "I'm Single," which originally featured the crooner on the hook, sans Weezy.

"I wasn't really around much for the No Ceilings sessions. That was around the time in my career when things were picking up from a touring standpoint for me," Drake recalled. "So I was never able to go and sit for a couple of days and be in his presence."

Staying in sync with releasing material around the holidays, Drake is plotting to drop It's Never Enough in time for Christmas, following his Light Dreams & Nightmares Tour.

To say Kanye West's last 12 months have been an adventure would be an understatement along the lines of saying folks in Cleveland may still be upset at LeBron James. And now West is hoping to capture his experiences from that time frame in his new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

"The official album title is and always was ... My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," Kanye announced on Tuesday morning (October 5) via his Twitter. The name has been floating around for some time in various rumor reports and blog postings, but in the shorter iteration of Dark Twisted Fantasy.

"The first song on the album is called 'Dark Fantasy' produced by the RZA, co-produced by me and No I.D." West added. "I ain't letting no leaks have any [effect] on my song choices... 'All of the Lights' is the next single, but wait till y'all hear the final!"

On Monday, West also confirmed the album's release date, November 22. The project will arrive a day before Nicki Minaj's debut, Pink Friday, and a number of other albums getting a jumpstart on the holiday shopping season.

The first two singles from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy have already been released, "Power" and "Runaway," featuring Pusha T.

Another track scheduled to appear on the project, "Lost in the World," leaked online last week, leading West to announce he was canceling his weekly free "G.O.O.D. Fridays" music offering. But by Friday night, he recanted and delivered the sartorial "Christian Dior Denim Flow," featuring John Legend, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Lloyd Banks and Ryan Leslie.

On Tuesday, West also assured fans of the G.O.O.D offerings that some of those songs would be included on the album too.

Superman Timeline: From Bryan Singer To Zack Snyder

A look back at the attempts to reboot the storied superhero franchise.
By Eric Ditzian

Over 220 weeks have passed since "Superman Returns" opened in theaters. Since then, the Man of Steel has been relegated to his Fortress of Solitude and the creative forces behind the franchise have struggled to bring another installment to the big screen. Now, with Zack Snyder ("Watchmen") tapped to direct a new film, Superman seems poised to return — if not like a speeding bullet, then certainly with all due haste — to the multiplex.

As we await his arrival, let's take a look back.

June 28, 2006: The Bryan Singer-directed "Superman Returns" opens with a relatively disappointing $52.5 million weekend gross on its way toward $391.1 million in worldwide box-office sales. Fan reaction to Singer's somewhat maudlin take on the superhero, coming a year after the gritty "Batman Begins," ranges from indifference to antagonistic. But a sequel is already in the works.

August 22, 2008: For over two years, the sequel was beset by production delays, budget disputes, shifting release dates and Singer's departure to direct the Tom Cruise flick "Valkyrie." In early '08, Singer still had plans to move forward with a new "Superman" following the writers' strike. Today, Warner Bros. announces it will reboot the franchise once again. "Had 'Superman' worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009, but now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman," Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov says. "We're going to try to go dark to the extent that the character allows it."

November 19, 2008: When asked if he'll direct the next "Superman," Singer tells MTV News, "At the moment, I can't really talk about that. I wish I could. From my perspective, I'm going to take a brief pause. This movie has taken a long time, so I'm going to take a pause. A movie like that takes some time to do right. That's all I can say about that."

July 6, 2009: In the absence of official announcements, rumors about directors (the Wachowski brothers?) and characters (no Lex Luthor?) proliferate. A piece of solid news comes on this day, when Brandon Routh, who played the Man of Steel in "Returns," tells us that his contract for the franchise has expired, casting doubt on whether he will reprise his role if and when a new film goes into production.

July 9, 2009: A lengthy legal battle between the heirs of the Superman creators and the companies that control the hero, DC Comics and Warner Bros., ends as a judge rules that if production on a new "Superman" film does not begin by 2011, the heirs will be eligible to sue Warner Bros. for damages, as they will own the entire Superman copyright in 2013.

July 13, 2009: Warner Bros. of tentpole releases, including "Green Lantern." No mention is made of "Superman."

September 15, 2009: DC Entertainment chief Diane Nelson tells MTV News, "We actually don't have any current plans for Superman."

February 9, 2010: "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan reportedly slides into a "godfather" role for "Superman"; he will oversee its development and shepherd it toward production.

February 9, 2010: David Goyer ("Batman Begins") is said to have been tapped for scriptwriting duties.

March 10, 2010: Nolan makes his first public comments about his involvement, saying, "We're approaching it in a not-dissimilar way in terms of trying to find an incredible story in a way that audiences can engage with it the way they engage with contemporary action films. I think David's approach is a very good way of doing just that."

September 24, 2010: With the rumor mill floating Chris Columbus and James McTeigue as possible directors, reports suggest that the list is down to five people: Tony Scott, Matt Reeves, Jonathan Liebesman, Duncan Jones and Zack Snyder.

October 4, 2010: Snyder is confirmed as director. "All I'll say is that those guys — Chris and David — have created an amazing story," he told MTV News. "The 'Why [remake] Superman?' is definitely being looked at with care, that's all I could hope for as a director."

'Jersey Shore' Stars Snooki, JWoww Post 'Love Is Louder' Video

Housemates help spread message of hope to victims of bullying and discrimination.

Two more "Jersey Shore" castmembers have gotten involved in MTV and Brittany Snow's Love Is Louder campaign. Snooki and JWoww posted a video on Your.MTV.com on Monday, talking about how they rise above getting picked on all the time.

"We know what it's like to be discriminated against," says Snooki, who has been criticized for everything from her looks to her proclivity for "juicehead gorillas" and her sartorial style.

"But I know that love is louder than hate," adds JWoww.

The ladies joined their "Jersey" pal Vinny Guadagnino, who posted his "Louder" video last week. "I want you to know that I know how it feels to be bullied and disrespected. But I also want you to know that there's always, always love and support all around you," Guadagnino said in a video posted on Your.MTV.com on Friday. "So, make sure you give love [and] receive love, [because] love is a lot louder than abuse."

In light of recent teen suicides linked to anti-gay bullying — specifically the death of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi — MTV partnered with actress Snow and the Jed Foundation (with support from DoSomething.org, the Trevor Project, Reach Out, Active Minds and the Ad Council), to create Love Is Louder and help spread messages of love and hope to teens who feel they might have run out of options.

"Initially, because of the recent suicides that had been going on, I was really troubled with what I was hearing and, of course, like everyone, I was really saddened by the news," Snow told MTV News last week. "I kind of felt, on Twitter and a bunch of websites, a lot of people were really angry and upset and sad because of the news, but they didn't really know where to direct their attention or their help."

The "Hairspray" and "American Dreams" star went on to say that she understands how hard life can be when you are bullied. "I know from my own personal experience," Snow revealed. "I was bullied in middle school and high school and went through my fair share of hard times thereafter. Also, one of my really good friends committed suicide when I was in high school. I understand and get when kids and teenagers feel like they're alone and it's not going to get better. My advice is that there is a support system out there. There are a lot of people who have been through what you're going through and are going through it now. You really need to speak up and know people love and support you, regardless."   For more information about Love Is Louder, visit the project's Facebook page. You can join the conversation by uploading videos to Your.MTV.com, just like Brittany did, and by using the Twitter hashtag #loveislouder.

Singer tries to sabotage an ex-lover's wedding day in the title track from her forthcoming album.

Taylor Swift has graduated from writing lyrics about boys on the football team to penning songs about guys getting married. The country singer released the title track from her forthcoming album Speak Now on Tuesday morning, and in the song, she sings from the perspective of a woman whose former lover is on the verge of walking down the aisle.

Swift isn't angry with this guy, who just might be inspired by someone she knows. In fact, she's still very much in love with him and wants to make sure he doesn't marry the wrong girl.

"I am not the kind of girl who should be rudely barging in on a white affair occasion," she sings. "But you are not the kind of boy who should be marrying the wrong girl."

Soon, the wedding-crashing Swift is pleading to her ex to forgo the "I do"s and run away with her. "Don't say it. Let's run away now. I'll meet you when you're out of the church at the back door," she croons in the chorus. "Don't wait to say a single vow. You need to hear me out and you say speak now."

As the song progresses, we learn a lot about the bride, who wears poofy wedding gowns, has a very stuffy-seeming family and (perhaps justifiably) hates Swift. In the bridge, Swift sings, "Horrified looks from everyone in the room, but I'm only looking at you," before echoing the song's opening pleas. "I am not the kind of girl who should be rudely barging in on a white affair occasion," she says. "But you are not the kind of boy who should be marrying the wrong girl."

Listeners aren't left hanging to find out who Swift's target ends up with. In a narrative twist that echoes earlier Swift tracks like "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me," she gets the guy: "And you say, 'Let's run away now. I'll meet you when I'm out of my tux at the back door. Baby, I didn't say a vow. So glad you were around when they said, "Speak Now."' "
