Earlier this week, Erykah Badu released a video for the remix of "Window Seat" that features Rick Ross. That collaboration led to the singer appearing on Ross' song "Maybach Music III," which appears on his acclaimed new album Teflon Don.

"She never really collaborated with a lot of artists outside of Outkast," Ross explained. "Maybe another artist or two, [like] the Roots. It was always conscious music she was making. You know, a gritty street artist — that's always a plus when you get to work with somebody with the flowers around them and [they're] burning incense. And it's positive."

Ross was a longtime admirer of Badu's work, which made the idea of working with her intriguing. "Her music always attracted me; it was always attractive to my kind of music," he said. "Once we collaborated with the 'Window Seat' remix ... the lanes of communication was open, I was like, 'Let's do something different.' "

The track, which was produced by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, also features T.I. and Jadakiss.

"I felt the time was right for me and T.I. [to work together]," the Bawse explained. "We had never personally collaborated with each other on a record one on one. Early on in my career, I had said [negative] things when I didn't know him. Just us being bosses and us being leaders and us being examples, we bossed up. We both did. He came from home doing what he did. I did my thing."

But as time passed, the animosity waned, and Ross asked Tip to collaborate.

"Just on a mutual respect for each other, I reached out to him. When I got that verse back, I was like, 'He meant that.' We had been seeing each other over a period of time, saluting each other, bumping into each other, he knew I was a fan of his. We captured that moment in time which was one of the dopest records. And that meant the most to me. I used to play that T.I. verse in my studio, like, 'This set the tone, right here. It set the tone.' It just felt good for the homie to lace me. I salute Tip."

Ross brought Jadakiss, a longtime friend, on "Maybach" as well. "Jada was always that New York underdog," he said. "That next lyricist. You could be the hottest at the time, but if you slippin', Jada is one record away. He's a cool dude, somebody I got a mutual respect and a friendship with."

This week, Ross released a new track online, "Summer's Mine," where he takes aim at his competition. "Bitch I run the south/ I'm what you wanna be," he raps. "This how you wanna live/ This what you wanna drive/ Be honest with yourself/ I'm who you idolize."

What do you think of Ross' "Maybach Music III"? How does it rank with the previous tracks? Tell us in the comments!

'Jersey Shore' Star Ronnie Arrested For Unpaid Tickets

"Jersey Shore" castmember Ronald "Ronnie" Ortiz-Magro was arrested on Sunday (August 15) in Seaside Heights, New Jersey for outstanding warrants related to unpaid parking tickets. Police confirmed to MTV News that the 24-year-old "Shore" star was taken into custody for warrants from Annendale and Stuartsville in New Jersey. Ronnie was quickly released "after satisfying the conditions of these warrants," which included paying off his fines. A rep for MTV had no comment on the matter.

The parking-ticket bust comes just a couple weeks after fellow castmember, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, was arrested in the same Jersey town for disorderly conduct. Snooki was shown in photos, reportedly snapped around the time of her arrest, getting cuffed by officers after ambling along the boardwalk with Ronnie and fellow castmember Vinny. The arrest happened the day after the much-watched season-two premiere of "Shore." Snooks won't do time but she does face a fine between $250 and $1,000. She is due in court on August 18.

In addition to Ron Ron's offscreen drama, the fist-pumping "Shore" star has a lot to sort out on the show as well. In last week's episode, the beefy Bronx native was back on with his in-house girlfriend Sammi. However, Ron wasn't able to curb his penchant for club-hopping and hooking up with girls around the "Shore" collective's newly-adopted city of Miami.

In the episode, Snooks also struggles with whether she should let Sammi know about Ron's shady ways. But Snooki and Ronnie appear to have a couple things in common in addition to getting thrown in the slammer: after a night drinking, Snooki cuddled up to Vinny, drawing the ire of her offscreen off-and-on boyfriend.

Sunday (August 15) was an eventful day for Kanye West, Justin Bieber and Raekwon's Twitter followers. The Louis Vuitton Don, the Biebs and the Chef chatted on the social-networking website about teaming up to record what would likely be a mind-blowing collaboration.

It all began on Sunday morning, when Yeezy typed that he had contracted Bieber Fever and was digging the Canadian teen's music.

"Listening to @ Justin Bieber 'Run Away love,' " West tweeted. "I love Sunday mornings in the crib."

About an hour later, Yeezy revealed that not only did he have the Bieber track on repeat, he shares a similar song title on his upcoming album.

"But I have listened to Runaway Love about 10 times so far," West wrote. "Ironically I got a song called Runaway on my new album too."

Rarely do the outspoken lyricist's musings go unnoticed, and soon Bieber began responding to 'Ye's Twitter props.

"It's not a so what moment for me. I'm 16 and a fan. I'm kinda hyped u are listening to my stuff. Thank u. Nice sunday morning," Bieber replied. 'Ye continued the e-love-fest and proposed that he, Bieber and Rae work on a track together.

"I'm honored that you like my Music @JustinBieber!!!" West tweeted. "You gotta hear the album. Maybe we can do something together. Me, You and Raekwon."

After bringing up the idea of throwing the Chef into the mix, 'Ye explained that Rae once jumped on one of his much-loved R&B and hip-hop collabos.

"Yo [Wu-Tang Clan's Ghostface] and Rae were on one of my favorite Jodeci remixes of all time," West wrote. 'Ye also suggested that the Staten Island MC should bring his Wu flavor to Bieber's music. "Maybe me and Rae should hop on Runaway Love! FLEX would drop bombs!"

Melding the gritty, boom-bap sounds of Raekwon with the cheery soulful pop of Justin Bieber and the genre-straddling jams of Kanye West might appear challenging. However, Bieber, who tweeted that he plays an acoustic version of 'Ye's 808s and Heartbreak hit, "Heartless," said that he's up for the task.

"Me, u, and the chef 2gether on a song = EPIC," Bieber wrote. "Might sound crazy 2 u but even having this convo is living the dream. Thanks."

Although Rae didn't type a response to either artist, the Only Built 4 Cuban Linx MC did re-tweet Bieber's reply.

Tila Tequila Claims Attack At Gathering Of The Juggalos Festival

Reality TV starlet Tila Tequila has claimed she was attacked by concertgoers at the 11th annual Gathering of the Juggalos in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois on Friday.

ABC affiliate WSIL in Illinois reports that Hardin County Sheriff Tom Seiner said the former Internet model filed a complaint about fans' violent behavior during her performance. Tequila, who once starred in the MTV reality show, "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila," has since turned to rap and shared the bill with artists such as Lil' Kim and Method Man. Seiner said Tequila insisted that fans pelted her with rocks and feces during her set.

A video of Tequila's performance posted on TMZ.com shows her working the mic flanked by a couple of beefy men — presumably bodyguards — who pull her out of the way as a concertgoer advances onstage. In the 12-second-long footage, the crowd lobs several objects but the extent of her injuries is unclear.

Tequila later addressed the alleged incident on her Twitter page. "The people at Juggalos behavior was disgusting and I am filing a suit against Them now," she wrote on Saturday. "Pretty soon the owners who run the Juggalos will be bankrupt. My attorney Alan is already on it. This is disgusting behavior from men."

The four-day festival is an annual event geared toward fans of the metal-rap group Insane Clown Posse, who are dubbed "Juggalos." ICP headlined the fest but a diverse range of performers including Kottonmouth Kings, Naughty by Nature, Coolio, Tone Loc and Twiztid also hit the stage.

Seiner did confirm another violent incident at the festival: A 49-year-old Georgia man stabbed a concertgoer at the campgrounds. At press time, the victim was listed in stable condition.

Actress, singer and entrepreneur Hilary Duff can add another title to her résumé: wife.

Duff and her boyfriend Mike Comrie, a hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers, married on Saturday (August 14) in California. UsMagazine.com reports the couple tied the knot at a Montecito mansion in a sunset ceremony.

Duff's mother walked the bride down the aisle and sister Haylie served as the actress' maid of honor. Duff swapped vows in a Vera Wang dress in front of 100 guests.

The actress and the athlete announced their engagement in February after Comrie popped the question during a vacation in Hawaii. "After having been together for over two years, they are very excited to share this happy news. They are thankful for all of your warm wishes," Duff's rep said at the time.

Comrie told "Hockey Night in Canada" in October that the pair first bumped into each other at an Idaho resort. "We were all on the same plane and it was kind of, I guess, maybe a bit of a fluke," Comrie said. "It [was] one of those things where we were all in a group ... we spent the weekend all hanging out."

"[Comrie's] a great guy. I've never met anyone who could say a bad word about him. He's generous, caring, funny. We just laugh our heads off, which I need in my life," Duff gushed to Us last year. "He's unique. I wouldn't want to be with someone who wasn't unique."

Duff recently scored a Choice TV Female Scene Stealer Teen Choice Award for her role on the soapy CW hit, "Gossip Girl." The actress presumably drew from her personal experience as a child star to pull off the role successfully: Duff played Olivia Burke, a screen starlet who trades in the celebrity lifestyle for a typical college experience at New York University.

Leave your well-wishes for the couple below!

Freddie Gibbs Is 'Carrying The Torch'

Posted: 16 Aug 2010 03:50 AM PDT

Gary, Indiana, MC tells Mixtape Daily he won't duplicate, but 'I'm trying to do this gangsta music.'
By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Rahman Dukes

Freddie Gibbs

Monday's Main Pick

Street King: Freddie Gibbs

Holding It Down For: The Midwest

Mixtape: Str8 Killa (EP); Str8 Killa No Filla (mixtape)

Real Spit: Gangsta Gibbs doubled up a few weeks ago with the selections you'll read about here. He gave most of his music away for free, but tried his hand at bringing home sales as well.

"I did that," Freddie Gibbs said. "I dropped a mixtape on Thursday and the following Tuesday, I dropped an EP in stores. "Really, what I wanted to do was go get some points on the board. Put something in the stores for my fans to support and still give them music like I've been giving them on the Internet. You get like 28 songs for eight bucks. I'm creating my own way to sell music. I feel like the ground-roots people that's supporting is loving the music, so it's cool.

"Str8 Killa No Filla is the mixtape. It's got 22 joints. The EP is Str8 Killa. On the EP, you're gonna get the songs off of the mixtape with no samples. It's a lovely package. We packaged it together real nice."

Gibbs, whose official LP Babyface Killa is being cooked up now, said the name Str8 Killa is just his declaration that he doesn't deal with the B.S.

"I'm trying to do this gangsta music," he said. "I just wanted to hit people right in the mouth with this. Let the world know what I'm on. Let them know I'm at the forefront of this. That's what I grew up on. That's the music everybody gravitated towards in the early '90s. I'm not trying to duplicate that, but I'm carrying the torch."

Joints To Check For:
» "Best Friend," Str8 Killa No Filla. "It's a joint, little true story," Fred explained. "It's about me dealing with a female and dealing with her friend as well at the same time. All the stories are told to a T. It's weird, sometimes [dealing with two friends] could be stressful. But if you're moving how you moving, and they with it and you with it, then it could be cool too.

» "The Coldest" (featuring B.J. the Chicago Kid), Str8 Killa. "That's one of them records I wanted to put out, that I felt I'm the coldest n---a doing this, the illest one, especially from my region. It was the perfect record to do that and BJ came on and blessed the hook and it was love."

» "Live By the Game," Str8 Killa No Filla. "Shout to the Block Beaters. Alabama on smash. That's definitely a hard record," Gibbs said. "That's pretty much documenting a struggle. I say a line on there, 'I pray my baby brother don't follow my footsteps.' It's real. I felt like I was setting a bad example for him. Luckily, he went on to school and did his thing. I think that's why people are gravitating towards what I'm doing. Everything is coming from the pit of my stomach."

#3 "The Other Guys" ($6.8 million)
#4 "Inception" ($ 4.6 million) #5 "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" ($3.5 million)

The action-packed hiney-kicking flick "The Expendables" continues to stomp box-office competition.

The Sylvester Stallone-helmed vehicle, which was written and directed by Sly, was the #1 movie on Saturday with $11.8 million. The pulpy throwback to the firepower-packed '80s films that Sly favored back in the day was also the top draw at theaters on Friday as well. Featuring a cornucopia of muscled-up stars like Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke, the film is on track to own the entire weekend with an estimated $35 million in ticket sales.

The big-screen version of Elizabeth Gilbert's smash memoir, "Eat Pray Love, " had a strong showing as well, pulling in $8.1 million. Droves of moviegoers checked out Academy Award-winning screen queen Julia Roberts munch and muse her way to enlightenment on Saturday and pushed the film to the #2 spot. "Love," which also stars Javier Bardem and James Franco, held the second-place spot for the second night in a row after taking in $8.5 million on Friday. The film is expected to make $23.7 million over the weekend.

"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" pulled in a modest $3.5 million on Saturday. The movie, which features Michael Cera as a determined beau ready to battle his new gal pal's ex-boyfriends, continued to slog through the weekend as the third-place debut. Although the CGI-laden flick makes "Scott" a rom-com for the digital generation, the film wasn't able to overtake the top two debuts, which tout well-worn screen names such as Roberts and Stallone. "Scott" is expected to pull through the weekend with $10.5 million.

Indiana fans got a double dose of Canada's finest hitmaking talent on Friday night (August 13). When Drake took the stage at the Indiana State Fair, the rapper was joined by a special hysteria-inducing guest: Justin Bieber.

After a storm delayed the start of the show for over an hour, openers such as Cali duo New Boyz warmed up the crowd of an estimated 13,000 fans, according the Indianapolis Metromix website. Drizzy took the stage around 10 p.m. and ripped through hits like the Swizz Beatz-T.I. collaboration "Fancy" and the romantic rap track "Find Your Love." While a local report said the Toronto MC was a major draw, pulling in thousands of fans to the Indianapolis concert, Drake pushed the excitement up to another level by bringing Bieber onstage.

Online videos of the event show that the Young Money rapper slowed things down for a minute to introduce his surprise guest. "I can't forget my little brother [who's] here too," Drizzy told the crowd. "This kid is part of something special too. You know we both from Canada and sh--, so you know I can't forget ol' J. Beezy. That's my dawg, man." Screams erupted when the teen megastar sauntered on stage and briefly embraced both Drake and an unsuspecting fan.

Later on, sporting a red hoodie with his trademark side-swept bangs peeking out from underneath a fitted cap, the teen sensation bounded across the stage during Drizzy's rendition of "Best I Ever Had." Bieber didn't pick up the mic but played hype man to his Canadian homie, mouthing the lyrics and engaging fans. Bieber hollered along with concertgoers when Drake switched up the song with the chant, "Free Weezy!"

The pop phenomenon continued to spread Bieber Fever throughout the night when he returned to the stage for a true rock star moment. The baby-faced singer got all hair-band with it as he pounded out a drum solo and tossed a stool across the stage to crowd's deafening cheers.

When Kelly Rowland was 17, she had a lot going for her. As a member of the budding girl group Destiny's Child, she had a single on the charts and toured the world. She was living the life that few teens get to experience but she did struggle with one thing that many young people can relate to: learning how to drive.

"I was a really, really bad driver," Rowland admitted on the latest episode of "When I Was 17." "As a matter of fact, I wrecked about three cars before I finally got the whole driving thing down."

Her friend Angie agreed that Rowland was a driving disaster. "Terrible, terrible," her pal described the Destiny's Child diva's sup-par skills. "Did I say terrible? Terrible driver."

Rowland may have been a nightmare on the road but Enrique Iglesias lived through the type of bad dream that would have destroyed many teens: getting dumped before prom.

"I had no luck with the ladies," Iglesias recalled in the episode. "I was going to prom with this girl that I really liked and she said that she had decided that she wasn't gonna go with me. It was devastating. When you're in high school and a few weeks before prom the girl you're going with says no, it's awful. At the time, my whole world came crumbling down."

Iglesias eventually hit the prom with a bunch of friends and had a blast. Unlike the Latin singer, reality TV starlet Stephanie Pratt never lacked confidence when it came to a major party. The "Hills" 's castmember remembered expertly talking her way into nightclubs as a teen.

"When I was 17, all of my friends were 21 and going out to clubs on school nights, and I obviously wanted to go with them. So, I'd get to clubs, and I had such a baby face at 17, and [the bouncers would] be like, 'There's no way you're 27,' " Pratt said. "I had 'borrowed' my mom's cocktail ring and I used to wear it on my wedding finger and say to the doorman, 'You are just such an angel, I'm actually married!' " Pratt explained. "And they'd be like, 'Oh, well. In that case, come right in.' "

"When I Was 17" airs Saturdays at 11 a.m. on MTV.
