Lady Gaga, Beyonce And More Musical Halloween Costumes

If you're too broke to go trick-or-treating, Bigger Than the Sound is here to help!

Halloween is just around the corner, and even though times are tough, that doesn't mean you shouldn't still have a kick-ass costume. And since no one wants to end up trick or treating as a lame ghost (or a "sexy border patrol agent"), I'm here to help, with a handful of homemade Halloween costumes that allow you to still dress up as your favorite artist, while not breaking the bank.

Of course, if you don't have a bank to break, fret not, because a lot of my ideas don't require a costume at all — just your imagination, a fierce attitude and an awareness of irony that borders on, well, ironic. So, if you're at a loss for your next costume — or too broke to care — read on, because, boy, do I have some suggestions for you. After all, Halloween is for everyone (especially those who love candy), and who among us doesn't want to dress up like Coldplay?!? Have a look, and send me some candy!

Adele: Deceptively easy. Refrain from speaking to anyone all night (vocal rest!) while firing through Marlboros like a mahjong player on a bender. For added authenticity, sell approximately one bazillion albums.

Beyoncé: Take a balloon and stuff it beneath your $10,000 Reed Krakoff dress, mimic B's matronly glow with a $7,000 HD Ruby and Diamond Peel Facial, strap your $1,200 Christian Louboutin heels on extra tight to replicate the ankle-swelling side effects of pregnancy. Or just down a crate of Four Loko and get all crazy like the "Ring the Alarm" video.

Britney Spears: Get a boyfriend with exactly 24 rippling abdominal muscles. Consume Strawberry Frappuccinos as if they were being discontinued. Be a commercially viable force, much to the consternation of critics and naysayers the world over. Say "y'all" a lot.

Coldplay: Dress in matching, finger-painted outfits with three of your closest friends (or, in a pinch, tattered French Revolutionary garb). Donate all your candy to Oxfam. Hang out with Brian Eno. Maintain an almost annoying level of self-efficacy.

Justin Bieber: Just get a snake named Johnson.

Kanye West: Communicate to every single person you meet as if you were speaking in ALL CAPS. Wear sunglasses, even at night. Have a bizarre thing for the Olsen twins. Over-share when it comes to your personal feelings and sexual proclivities. Create complex, Machiavellian conspiracy theories. Treat every comment and criticism as if it were a flaming sword to the torso. Cut a Maybach in half with your pal Jay-Z.

Katy Perry: Dress up as a mermaid. Or a gawky, orthodontically enhanced pre-teen. Or an S&M cheetah. Or a space alien. Or, really, you could just lick a bunch of candy and stick it to various parts of your body. Katy's simple.

Lady Gaga: Sure, you could go the easy route and just trick or treat as Jo Calderone (and deliver a lengthy monologue while doing so), but where's the fun in that? Instead, why not meld yourself with a motorcycle, like the British boxer-turned-model, make a drug-fueled music video with him. Note: May not get you a ton of candy on the farms of Northern Ireland.

'X Factor': Melanie Amaro Stands Out As Five Go Home

First live episode whittles pool down to 12 finalists.

Five contestants were shown the door on Tuesday's "X Factor," the first live episode of the singing competition.

Among those sent away during the two-and-a-half-hour episode was Dexter Haygood, the formerly homeless contestant who once lived on L.A.'s Skid Row. Haygood -- described early on as the "funky phenomenon" by his mentor Nicole Scherzinger -- said he was "kinda confused" by the dismissal, which followed his bizarro-world mash-up of Britney Spears' "Womanizer" and Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl," though he then said he didn't know why he was confused. "Right now I'm in the boggle zone, which is the 21st century twilight zone," Haygood explained.

Also sent packing during the episode were 20-year-old Tiah Tolliver, a favorite of Simon Cowell's who was never liked by the other judges; 22-year-old Simone Battle, who plugged her upcoming music video even as she was being given the boot; crooner Phillip Lomax, the 22-year-old who was saddled with singing the outside-of-his-comfort-zone "I'm a Believer" on the episode by his mentor L.A. Reid; and brother duo the Brewer Boys, who apologized to their mentor Paula Abdul (older brother Justin referred to her as "Ms. Paula") for letting her down in their performance.

That left 12 finalists who will go on in the competition:

» Astro, the 14-year-old rapper whose reworked version of Kris Kross' "Jump" had Abdul telling him, "Welcome to the [music] business." Following the performance, an enthused Cowell told Reid: "If this kid doesn't make it through to the finals, you are literally insane."

» Chris Rene, who put a fresh spin on Madonna's "Love Don't Live Here Anymore." "I don't think you are the best singer in this competition, but you are one of the best recording artists in this competition, and that's what it's all about," Cowell told him.

» Marcus Canty, whose stage presence was celebrated during his bouncy, electro version of Culture Club's "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me." "You were born to be on that stage," Scherzinger told him, while Abdul gushed, "I feel like I'm watching a veteran."

» Houston fivesome the Stereo Hogzz, who mixed retro and current with a modernized take on Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness." "As much as I want to have some criticism, I have to admit it was really good," Reid said.

» The 10-piece InTENsity, whose mash-up of "The Clapping Song" and "Footloose" was deemed "thoroughly entertaining" by Reid. Said Scherzinger, "You're like my little pumpkin patch of yummy pumpkins. All of you are little stars."

» Lakoda Rayne, a group of four solo artists Frankensteined together by the judges, who put a sort of country-road spin on Dexy's Midnight Runners' "Come On Eileen." Cowell dubbed the performance "better than I could have thought," while noting many great pop groups were put together by industry types.

» Sixty-year-old LeRoy Bell, who sang "Nobody Knows" and whose voice was described as "pure velvet" by Abdul. But Cowell wasn't convinced he was being given proper direction from Scherzinger. "I actually wish I was mentoring you," he told him, saying he and Scherzinger "haven't quite connected."

» Stacy Francis, who was criticized heavily by Cowell, who attacked her outfit and choice of song (George Michael's "One More Try") and urged her to go in more of a "church singer" direction. Scherzinger didn't agree, saying the performance gave her "wings." "She soared tonight," Scherzinger beamed.

» Burrito maker Josh Krajcik, whose hushed take on "Forever Young" was one of the least bombastic moments on the heavily produced show. Said Abdul, "Your voice is my favorite voice I think I've heard in the past decade," while Cowell noted it was "probably the best performance we've had."

» Drew, the 14-year-old formerly known as Drew Ryniewicz, whom Reid called "the whole package" following her performance of "Flashdance ... What a Feeling." Said Cowell, "This is why I wanted to be back on American TV, was to find someone like you."

» Rachel Crow, the 13-year-old cutie who spun the Supremes' "Where Did Our Love Go" and Justin Bieber's "Baby" into one catchy pop ditty. Cowell praised her ability to be both old-school and modern, while in a burst of hyperbole Abdul called her "the most likable girl I've ever met."

» Melanie Amaro, whom Cowell traveled to her home to save. She didn't let him down with her version of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing." Said Reid, "We really did save the best for last, because honey, you were unbelievable."

"The X Factor" continues with a two-hour performance episode at 8 p.m. on November 2 and one finalist will be sent home during the hour-long results episode on November 3.

Christina Perri Calls 'Breaking Dawn' Video 'Dream-Like'

Singer says 'A Thousand Years,' her contribution to the 'Twilight' soundtrack, is 'about the simplest kind of love and a timeless love.'

Christina Perri's video for her "Twilight" soundtrack tune, "A Thousand Years," hit the streets this week — in anticipation of all things "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" going down in November — and Twilighters won't be disappointed.

The video for the romantic tune is a mix of footage from the film, including the wedding scene and all that honeymoon hotness, as well as footage of Perri decked out in a gown, singing the passionate lyrics of the song while surrounded by candles.

MTV News was on the "A Thousand Years" video set, where the singer opened up about her fandom for "The Twilight Saga."

"I wrote [the song] for Edward and Bella in their perspective," Perri explained, calling the song "pretty, classical and simple." "It's the purest love song I think I could have possibly written. It's about the simplest kind of love and a timeless love.

"I've been a really big 'Twilight' fan for years. For me, it just has to do most with the love story between Edward and Bella. I feel like it's 'Romeo and Juliet,' and they just happen to be vampires and there's werewolves. I loved the story from day one."

Perri said that being such a "Twilight" fan makes having her song on the soundtrack that much more meaningful. "The fact that my dream came true ... still blows my mind, and I don't think I've fully processed it yet, even though we're on the set of the music video," she said. "I feel like maybe when we're at the premiere and I see it in the movie is when it'll really hit me because it just seems so dream-like. I feel so honored. It feels really epic."

The album hits stores November 8, just 10 days before the Bill Condon-directed "Breaking Dawn" opens November 18. A video for Bruno Mars' track, "It Will Rain," is slated to drop "in a couple weeks," Mars tweeted Monday. The last part of the "Twilight Saga," "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," opens November 2012.

'Dancing With The Stars': Chaz Bono Makes His Exit

'This was an amazing journey that really pushed me,' says Bono, who was in the bottom two with Hope Solo.

The bottom-two scorers on the leaderboard were also the bottom two overall on Tuesday night's "Dancing With the Stars" elimination show.

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer left the judges feeling underwhelmed after their performances on Monday night, and viewers must have agreed. In the end, it was Bono who got the boot.

On Monday night, the activist tangoed to a track from "Phantom of the Opera," and he had hoped that his newfound confidence would continue in that night's performance. It failed to impress the judges, and backstage, he said his feelings were hurt by the comments given to him by judge Bruno Tonioli, who described him as a penguin. The judges also commented that they thought it was the most aggressive they've seen him but thought he needed to be pushed a little further if he wanted to last longer in the competition.

"It was like watching a cute little penguin trying to be a big menacing bird of prey. This is the truth: It has to be menacing. Dark. Dangerous. Naughty. The tango wants to be driven continuously. It is hard. It's very difficult. To me, this character didn't fit you," Tonioli told him Monday night.

Bono, the son of Cher and Sonny Bono and the competition's first transgender contestant, said he had no regrets about coming on the show.

"I took so much away from this. This was an amazing journey that really pushed me and showed me that I could do so much more than I ever thought I could," he said. "I came on this show because I wanted to show America a different kind of man. If there was somebody like me on TV when I was growing up, my whole life would have been different. And so I dedicated everything I did to all the people out there like me and especially to kids and teens who are struggling. You can have a wonderful, great life and be successful and happy."

Britney Spears expressed her condolences Tuesday (October 25) to the family of a fan who died after attending her concert Monday in Dublin, Ireland.

Siobhan Healy, 31, was on a fairground ride called the Tip Top outside the concert venue when she was thrown to the ground and killed instantly. According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Healy had attended Spears' concert earlier in the evening at the nearby O2 arena.

"I was saddened to hear of the tragic accident in Dublin," Spears tweeted Tuesday. "My heart goes out to the family. --Britney"

A family friend told the paper that the accident has devastated the residents of Healy's hometown of Willsborough. "The community is very shocked," Michael McGreal said. "I know her family very well, we are all very upset."

An investigation has been launched to find out what caused the accident, with some speculating that the recent severe weather that has swept through Ireland might have been a contributing factor.

Kenneth McFadden, the owner of the company that runs the Tip Top ride, also expressed his condolences. "We can't say [what happened], it all happened so quick," he said. "We are just in bits at the moment, we are just devastated."

McFadden also told the Daily Mail that he has had the Tip Top ride for nearly five years and never experienced any problems with it.

Michael Jackson Begged Nurse For Propofol

'Nobody who cared or had your best interest at heart is going to give you this,' Cherilyn Lee recalls telling MJ.
By Gil Kaufman and Kara Warner

The second day of testimony from defense witnesses in the involuntary manslaughter trial of former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray included claims by one of the singer's former nurses that MJ demanded she provide him with the surgical anesthetic propofol.

The Witnesses
» Cherilyn Lee, nurse practitioner
» Brandon Phillips, president and CEO of AEG Live
» Michael Henson, toxicologist and technical operations officer for Pacific Toxicology

Key Testimony: » Nurse/ holistic medicine practitioner Cherilyn Lee testified that Jackson became frustrated with her attempts to treat his insomnia with natural remedies such as herbal teas and vitamins, insisting that only a propofol-like drug could work. Initially open to her suggestions, Lee said Jackson became "upset" as time went on and repeatedly asked for her to give him propofol. Her testimony came a day after Jackson's longtime internist, Allan Metzger, testified that during the same period just before his death, Jackson had also asked him for intravenous anesthetic to help his insomnia. Lee had never heard of propofol, but after looking it up, she said she warned Jackson not to use it.

» Lee's testimony was briefly halted after she complained of feeling dizzy and burst into tears in the courtroom hallway; she returned to the stand a short time later. Reading from Lee's record, Deputy District Attorney David Walgren asked if she recalled telling Jackson, "Nobody who cared or had your best interest at heart is going to give you this." She said she did.

» Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor dealt a blow to the defense when he barred testimony about Jackson's contractual obligations to This Is It concert promoter AEG Live. Pastor said the details could potentially distract the jurors, despite arguments from Murray's defense team that the 42-page document would show that the singer was under tremendous financial pressure to pull off the 50-concert comeback series in London. Defense attorney Ed Chernoff said in court that if Jackson had been unable to perform, he would have to repay more than $30 million at a time when he was $400 million in debt.

» Phillips' testimony centered on his experience with Jackson during the meetings and rehearsals for the This Is It series of concerts, at which Jackson insisted he be allowed to bring Murray to care for him personally.

» Phillips recalled Jackson being disconnected and distracted and that the show's choreographer, Kenny Ortega, suggested to him in an email that he consider canceling the shows due to Jackson's seemingly questionable health. Phillips said Jackson addressed those concerns during a meeting between himself, Ortega, Jackson and manager Frank DiLeo, during which Jackson told Ortega the show must go on. "You build the house and I'll put on the door and paint it," Phillips recalled Jackson saying to Ortega.

» Henson took the stand briefly to describe his background in toxicology and his area of expertise in the area of drug testing and providing information to various defense attorneys before the judge called for the day's adjournment. Testimony will resume at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday.

Murray, who was being paid $150,000 a month to care for Jackson, had pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter and is now facing four years in prison. But new sentencing laws in California aimed at mandatorily reducing state prison overcrowding mean that, as a nonviolent offender with no prior record, he could be sentenced to county jail instead. If that is the case, his sentence could be reduced to two years and, because of overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail, he may be allowed to serve the majority of his time under supervised house arrest.

Last month, New York titans Mobb Deep exclusively revealed the cover art for their upcoming Black Cocaine EP on our RapFix blog. Now, Havoc and Prodigy are set to swing by MTV's "RapFix Live" on Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET to talk about the November release, which they'll follow-up with their self-titled ninth studio album.

The duo will chop it up with Sway about their latest projects, as well as their catalog of classic albums, including 1995's The Infamous and 1996's Hell on Earth. Those records ushered the two Queensbridge, New York, MCs to the forefront of the East Coast's gritty street rap movement. And judging from the crowd's reaction at this summer's Rock the Bells Festival, hits like "Shook Ones II" haven't lost much steam.

But the Infamous Mobb Deep have been busy both in and out of the studio. Last month, Hav and Prodigy inked a new deal with Sony's RED Distribution to release new projects via their Infamous Records imprint. And Prodigy is now a published author. After the release of 2006's Blood Money, Prodigy served a stint behind bars, emerging this year with the controversial My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep's Prodigy, a book that brought back a flood of memories from the heyday of mid-90s rap.

M-O-B-B will share the "RFL" couch with Tennessee rapper Gangsta Boo, perhaps best known for her lyrics on Three Six Mafia's 2000 album, When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1, as well as her own solo projects. In addition to a new feature alongside Eminem on "Throw It Up," the explosive single from Yelawolf's Radioactive album, Gangsta Boo is gearing up to release an EP with Drumma Boy in February. Mobb Deep and Gangsta Boo have earned reputations as outspoken MCs in the game, so tune into "RapFix Live" this week to see what they'll reveal.

Chucky Brings 'Child's Play' To MTV's Killer Halloween

How does this tiny terror rank among classic horror-movie murderers like Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees? Vote in our poll!
By Kara Warner

How do we love horror-movie villains? Let us count the ways via MTV's Killer Halloween, an in-depth competition in which we ask you, the best and brightest fans, to determine who is the best and scariest movie murderer.

Head over to our Movies Blog poll to rank the killers' weapons of choice!

So far, we've provided the vital stats of big, bad men Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Leatherface. Now, it's time to move on to a smaller, but equally vicious, killer: Chucky from "Child's Play."

Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray
Occupation: Serial killer, voodoo practitioner, plastic doll

Weapons: Whatever he has at his disposal, voodoo knife

Archenemy: Grownups, fire, people who won't let him take over their bodies

Profile: Chucky's story has all the fixings for horror-film flights of fancy. He, Charles Lee Ray, is a serial killer and voodoo practitioner who manages to transfer his soul into a "Good Guy" doll after he is fatally shot by a police detective. Chucky ends up in the hands of Andy Barclay, who very soon regrets the day his mother brought home the redheaded, freckled doll, as the pint-sized terror resumes his murderous ways.

As is custom for horror-movie antagonists, Chucky manages to survive all the attempts at ending his "life" — including being set on fire and shot — in order to terrorize more victims in "Child's Play 2," "Child's Play 3," "Bride of Chucky" and "Seed of Chucky."

Once again, we turn to horror movie expert Brian Collins, the dedicated man behind Horror Movie a Day, to explain Chucky's long-lasting appeal.

"Chucky is awesome because in addition to going after Andy or whoever in order to get a human body, he tends to kill a lot of jerks: mean teachers, sadistic Army barbers, even Britney Spears. So, there's a little more variety to his victims than the usual anonymous knife fodder in the "Friday the 13th" or "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies," he explained. "Plus, he swore a lot. Swearing toys are always funny."

Check out everything we've got on "Child's Play."

Nineties pop fans rejoice! Britney Spears has recruited the Backstreet Boys' Howie Dorough to open for a string of South American dates on her Femme Fatale Tour. The gigs will coincide with the release of his first-ever solo album, Back to Me, out November 15.

"I'm so excited that I'm going [to be] joining @britneyspears on several dates of the Femme Fatale tour!" Dorough tweeted on Monday."Can't wait to see all my lovelies in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela!! VIP info will be coming next week."

According to Dorough's site (and as he also tweeted), the Backstreet Boy's initial stint on Britney's tour will kick off on November 20 in La Plata, Argentina, with stops in Santiago, Lima and Bogota before it wraps up in Caracas, Venezuela, on November 28. He's just the latest supporting act to join the worldwide Femme Fatale trek, stepping in the spot once occupied by artists like Joe Jonas, Nicki Minaj and DJ Pauly D.

And when Dorough spoke to MTV News over the summer about his first solo recording, he said it felt good to finally get the chance to show fans a new side of himself as an artist. "I finally have been able to put [my album] together and I'm excited and very, very proud to be able to make this body of work," he told us. "I feel [it's] a total representation of where I'm at right now in my life and [it represents] things that are going on, positive-ness and energy. I think it's really a chance for people to hear me and know my voice."

That's not all, Howie D fans. Next year, Dorough will hit the road again with NKOTBSB — yes, New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys — for a European tour that kicks off in April.

"It's awesome," Dorough told MTV News of touring with NKOTBSB. "It all kind of spun from that show at Radio City [Music Hall]. I think we did something that was a shock factor for people. I don't think a lot of people would have thought the two of us being onstage together would have been fathomable."

Demi Lovato has been hitting a lot of high notes lately. On Monday, the "Skyscraper" singer sang the national anthem at the World Series, she'll be performing alongside Lady Gaga at Z100's Jingle Ball concert in December and she's gearing up to hit the road for 10 tour dates beginning next month.

"[I'm] very excited," Lovato told MTV News about heading out for the first time since leaving the Jonas Brothers' tour to seek treatment for personal issues last November. The 19-year-old has already given fans a sneak peek at what can expect from her during two recent shows in New York and in Los Angeles.

"We're gonna do the same show, but a little bit different ... better and bigger, and my fans just have to come check it out," Lovato said of the dates beginning November 16 in Detroit. "We were just experimenting with the show and trying to see how it all played out and give my fans something that will bait them in for the tour."

Lovato will be performing songs off her Unbroken album, plus her fan favorite rendition of Lil Wayne's "How to Love." But Wayne won't be the only artist she covers onstage. "I'm thinking of maybe a Maroon 5 or Lady Gaga cover," Lovato revealed. "I like 'Born this Way' and 'Moves Like Jagger,' I'd want to perform one of those."

If Lovato isn't heading to your hometown this time around, no need to worry, it looks like she'll be back on the road sooner than expected. "I'm planning on a world tour next year," Lovato told us.

While it's still unconfirmed when Lovato will kick off that world tour, she already has an opening act in mind.

"You know who I did see the other day on the Internet was that little girl Sophia Grace," Lovato said of the eight-year-old U.K. sensation who gained YouTube fame with her cover of Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass." "She's so cute, maybe she can open up for me," Demi said.

Apart from singing skills, Grace and Lovato have at least one more thing in common: their love for Nicki Minaj.

"I just love that she can rap and sing," Lovato said of the Queens rapper. "You know, a lot of people can just rap and she can rap and sing and she has a really good voice. She's fun; she doesn't take herself too seriously. A lot of artists take themselves way too seriously. It's hard to find artists that just want to have fun these days, and that's what she does."

Does that mean Demi would want Minaj to hit the road with her? "She would be amazing. I would be opening up for her though," Lovato laughed.

Will you catch Demi on tour? Let us know in the comments!

Duck Sauce 'Totally Into' NSFW Idea For 'Big Bad Wolf'

Posted: 25 Oct 2011 02:28 AM PDT

'We shot the whole video with Armand and A-Trak basically with their heads between the legs of these actors,' Keith Schofield tells MTV News.
By James Montgomery

It is definitely the greatest crotch-centric video to have made its way into your inbox over the past 24 hours (at least we hope): Duck Sauce's slightly NSFW/ definitely NSFL "Big Bad Wolf" clip, which stars the dynamic DJing duo as, well, a pair of d---heads.

An oddly compelling mixture of gross-out humor and bawdy, barroom imagery, it features the Sauce's A-Trak and Armand Van Helden attached to the nether regions of a pair of rather hirsute gentlemen out for a night on the town. It is very much the opposite of their blissed-out "Barbra Streisand" clip, which is fitting, given that it comes from the mind of director Keith Schofield, who is no stranger to making thoroughly, uh, out-there fare.

But, as he told MTV News on Tuesday (October 25), one day after "Wolf" spread like wildfire across the Web, even he was sort of amazed that this one got off the ground.

"I pitched Armand and A-Trak three ideas for it, and the crotch faces was the first idea I came up with. I thought it was pretty good but might be too out-there, but that was the one they went for from the get-go," Schofield explained. "When I first heard the song, the visual image that popped in my head was guys walking around the city with, like, massive c---s just kind of swinging around. And then I was like, trying to figure out how to turn that into something interesting that could go on TV, and that's where the head thing kind of popped up."

And though the simple fact Duck Sauce said "yes" to his idea was impressive, what really blew Schofield away was the duo's commitment once they arrived on set. Because, despite what you might think, "Big Bad Wolf" wasn't made by digitally adding Van Helden and A-Trak's heads to their respective actors' crotches in post-production. It was actually, amazingly, the opposite.

"We shot the whole video with Armand and A-Trak basically with their heads between the legs of these actors, and they were wearing these kind of green-screen bodysuits, so in post, we just removed their bodies," Schofield laughed. "Yeah, I don't even know if that's supposed to be out there, but that's why I couldn't believe they wanted to be the guys in the video! I mean, a couple days before we were about to shoot, I was telling them, 'You know, we can cast other guys for the roles.' I was trying to discourage them, like, 'It's not going to be fun. It's going to be two full days of you sitting on your knees, having a guy straddle you.'

"But they were totally into it. I think we all were," he continued. "I mean, every single point, it was like, 'Let's go as far as possible.' Because we were like, 'We're not going to make another crotch-face video, so we kind of have to do every idea we can think of.' "

Initial reaction to the "Wolf" video has been about what you'd expect: a mixture of shock, awe and absolute horror. Schofield has loved every minute of it, though, to be honest, he's sort of afraid of what his parents will have to say about the clip.

"My sister liked it. I haven't actually talked to my parents about it. They asked me about it, like, 'Oh, so what's the video about?' And I was like, 'Oh, it's about these guys, it's sort of hard to explain,' " he said. "Obviously, it's really easy to explain, but I guess I'll just wait to see them and see if they bring it up."

In the years since her 2002 win on the show, she's become a pop star who's known for her big voice and empowering pop anthems. Five albums and multiple hit songs later, Clarkson has some perspective on her career.

"I think I can be a very serious person, so I think me taking everything so to heart ... especially when I first started out, anytime I slipped on a note or forgot a word or I'd do something wrong, that wasn't huge, [but] it was just like, it wasn't perfect. I was very much a perfectionist," she explained. "And I fight that still, but I'm a lot easier now."

That more relaxed attitude shows in the advice she would give her younger self. "I wish I could tell myself 'Enjoy it' because an emotional performance is way better than a perfect performance," she explained. "I think I would have told myself to enjoy it more." Clarkson released her latest album, Stronger, this week, and her newfound confidence is definitely reflected in the album title.

"There were a few different titles that were going around, and I think the reason why we came up with Stronger was just because every song was about empowerment and almost, like, overcoming stuff," she explained. "So, even if it was a bad situation and a sad song, it was about overcoming that. So by the end of the song, it's kind of more inspiration than sad. So I think that's why [we named it that], and I think after 10 years of doing it, you feel a little stronger personally and musically. People know you better. It's just easier, I think."

The Grammy Awards may be months away, but the Recording Academy is already gearing up for the big show. Lady Gaga has been tapped to perform at "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown to Music's Biggest Night," airing next month. She'll be joined by country star Jason Aldean, who will also perform at the fourth annual event.

The show, which takes place November 30 at the Nokia Theatre in L.A., will once again be hosted by LL Cool J. It will air on CBS at 10 p.m. In addition to performances from Aldean, Gaga and others who have yet to be announced, nominees in several of the categories will be announced at the show. The Grammys air live on February 12.

This certainly isn't Gaga's first time at the Grammy rodeo. She's won five awards in the past, including trophies for Best Short Form Music Video and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Bad Romance," as well as Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster, Best Dance Recording for "Poker Face" and Best Electronic/Dance Album for her debut album, The Fame.

Last year, Gaga made headlines when she appeared on the red carpet in an egg and emerged in yolk-colored clothes to perform "Born This Way." She previously performed with Elton John in 2010.

Aldean has not previously been nominated for any Grammy Awards. While nominees for the show will be announced that night, it should be noted that both Gaga and Aldean are eligible. They both released albums within the timeframe: Gaga with Born This Way and Aldean with My Kinda Party.

Who are you rooting for at this year's Grammys? Let us know in the comments!

'Lone Ranger' Is 'Built Around Tonto,' Director Says

'You've heard the Lone Ranger's story; you just haven't heard it told from this guy,' Gore Verbinski tells MTV News.

Now that Disney, Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp have ironed out most of the budget kinks surrounding their production of "The Lone Ranger," we can all rest easy that the masked man and his trusty sidekick Tonto are headed to the big screen soon.

When MTV News caught up with Verbinski at the Hollywood Awards Gala Monday night, where his quirky animated film "Rango" received the Hollywood Animation Award, we asked how he was feeling about the film and what his plans are for the adaptation.

"I feel great. We're not shooting a Western in the middle of winter; the whole thing is pushed into a more reasonable time of year, so now we have to go make the movie," Verbinski said, speaking to the film's new May 31, 2013, release date. "There's been a lot of talk. Hopefully in a year and a half we'll have something we can talk about."

Verbinski went on to say that he's been hard at work on the screenplay for two years and that the central character is not the Ranger.

"It's all built around Tonto," he said. "You've heard the Lone Ranger's story; you just haven't heard it told from this guy, and he was there."

Depp has already teased that their take on the beloved duo's Western adventures will be "interesting," to say the least.

"I like the character. I think I have interesting plans for the character, and I think the film itself could be entertaining and very funny," he said. "But also I like the idea of having the opportunity to make fun of the idea of the Indian as a sidekick — which has always been [the case] throughout the history of Hollywood. The Native American has always been a second-class, third-class, fourth-class, fifth-class citizen, and I don't see Tonto that way at all. So it's an opportunity for me to salute Native Americans."

Demi Lovato Got A 'Rush' Singing Anthem At World Series

Demi Lovato had a lot to celebrate on Monday night. Not only did the Texas native nail the "Star Spangled Banner" to open Game 5 of the World Series, she did it in Arlington, Texas, on a night when the Texas Rangers beat the St. Louis Cardinals to take a 3-2 lead in the fall classic.

Wearing a red Rangers jersey with a short black leather skirt and a black blazer, Lovato shook off the butterflies she was feeling earlier in the day, when she tweeted she was "so nervous/excited about tomorrow!" and did her best.

As it turns out, the19-year-old "Skyscraper" star had nothing to fear, as she confidently performed the notoriously tricky song with a touch of soul and some impressive high runs. As a bonus, unlike some notorious anthem flubs in the past, Lovato not only hit her notes, but got all the words right as well.

"The rush of going out there ... nothing compares to it. I feel like I'm about to jump out of a plane," Lovato said before her big moment, while chilling off-field with her family at the stadium. MTV News hung out with Lovato before she walked out and she told us that the sound check had gone well but she was still feeling uneasy about her opening gig. "I can't imagine how nervous I'm going to be in 15 minutes," she said, thrilled that she hadn't forgotten any of the lyrics in her first run-through.

"Getting to do this in my hometown of Dallas, Texas, is such a dream come true, because I've been to these Rangers games many times. I've sat in the nosebleed sections where you can barely see anything and now I'm going to be singing on the field," she continued. "That to me is such a dream come true and it represents my journey and how far I've come. I just feel so blessed and so thankful and so honored." She was feeling so grateful in fact, that she offered a prayer beforehand in which she thanked her fans and asked for strong vocals while praising the opportunity to sing the National Anthem.

"It's a different environment from my shows; there are people that come there to see me," she said. "Here, they are coming here to see baseball and I am actually just singing the National Anthem. So it's kind of more pressure for me to do good because I want to impress people that didn't come here to see me and I also want to impress people with a song they've heard a million, kajillion times. ... If anything, to be able to step up in front of 51,000 people is going to be incredible."

Lovato followed in the footsteps of "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery and "New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel, who have both lent their vocals to earlier World Series games.

Drake Bell Working On 'Big Choruses' For Next Album

'It's real poppy,' singer/actor says of follow-up to his A Reminder EP.

Drake Bell may have released his A Reminder EP just this year, but that doesn't mean he isn't already hard at work on his next album.

The "Terrific" singer said that, while the logistics of when his album will drop are still up in the air, he definitely knows what he wants it to sound like.

"I've been writing a lot of songs recently with some really great songwriters," he told MTV News. "I love collaborating with other people. You just get the other ideas in the room, and the new music is sounding great. There's not a specific record, but the catalog of the material of songs is getting really great."

When asked who his dream collaborator would be, he had two names on the brain: Dr. Luke and Max Martin, hitmakers for the likes of Katy Perry and Britney Spears, to just name a few. Given his description of this next project, it seems they would be the perfect guys to get in the studio with the actor/musician.

"It's real poppy," he explained. "I've been writing with a lot of real interesting cats. A lot of the writing sessions I'm doing, we won't pick up a guitar. It's all about the big choruses but still coming from [a real place]. It's not just party music. I'm excited to hear them all finished. They're in various states right now."

In between recording sessions and acting projects, Bell kicks off a tour later this month, but his focus is still very much on this next album. "I'm looking forward to a nap," he joked. "Let's see, I'm really looking forward to going on tour and getting the band back together. ... It's gonna be fun. And getting this music recorded, finding some time to finish up this record."

'Dark Knight Rises' Prologue To Play Before IMAX 'Mission: Impossible'

Six-minute-long prologue footage will reportedly only be shown at theaters with high-resolution 70mm IMAX screens.

It is almost certain now that the Dark Knight will be rising sooner than expected. As MTV News reported last week, there was a rumor circulating that a six-minute prologue to the upcoming Christopher Nolan Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises," would play before IMAX showings of "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol." The presentation was, in theory, supposed to be similar to the Joker's reveal that played before IMAX screenings of "I Am Legend" in 2008.

The rumor remained just that until theater chain AMC released a statement on their blog that reads: "The six-minute Dark Knight Rises prologue footage will only be shown on the higher resolution 70mm IMAX screens. Not the digital IMAX screens. Locations haven't been confirmed yet, so stay tuned for an update on AMC Theatre locations that will be showing the prologue Dark Knight Rises footage at a 70mm IMAX screen nearest you."

AMC's statement aligned with the original rumor that had been posted on /Film, but news of the clip only showing on the "higher resolution 70mm IMAX screens" was an unexpected bit of information, though not entirely surprising. Nolan is known for his meticulous control over his films, so insisting on the higher res for the preview makes sense.

This detail from the AMC post may spell trouble for some fans. If the report is accurate, the prologue will play on far fewer screens than initially expected. The digital IMAX screens tend to be more common than the 70mm format ones, so some fans may have to travel further than expected for their first glimpse at "The Dark Knight Rises."

The post was the most solid confirmation yet about the footage, but it was soon removed. A new statement was issued by AMC, stating, "The information in this post has been retracted until further notice. Please refer to Warner Bros. for any information about The Dark Knight Rises."

If AMC was confident enough to confirm the rumors, the prologue seems like more or less a certainty. The redaction by Warner Bros. could have to do with how they typically release Batman info. With "The Dark Knight," the "Why So Serious" marketing campaign involved highly complicated tasks that rewarded fans with content, like the Joker prologue. A straight news release for the "Dark Knight Rises" prologue would go against precedent.

Tyler, The Creator Gets 'Stupid' In 'BSD' Video

'I just thought it'd be funny if I ran on the beach in a wig,' Tyler tells MTV News of NSFW clip.

Due to the song's explicit nature, "B--- Suck D---" probably won't go down as Tyler, The Creator's most popular video, but it might be his funniest.

Like the VMA-winning "Yonkers," Wolf Haley directed the "BSD" clip, which premiered online October 11 and has already racked up more than a million YouTube views.

"I just wanted to make a video that's like the personality of me and my friends on a daily basis of just stupid sh--," Tyler told MTV News.

The Goblin track, which also features Odd Future members Jasper Dolphin and Taco, finds Tyler in one scene doing his best David Hasselhoff impersonation. At the start of his verse, the OFWGKTA frontman runs across a beach with no pants in an obvious "Baywatch" parody.

"I just thought it'd be funny if I ran on the beach in a wig. There wasn't that much thought put into it like any other video. I was just like, 'I want a video for "BSD," ' " he said.

Jasper is dressed in an orange tracksuit while working out for the cam; Taco, on the other hand, is in the kitchen cooking up a steak. His dish doesn't look half bad either, until Taco spits on the concoction and then sits his bare bottom atop the raw cut of beef.

"When I listen to the song, that's what comes up: Taco cookin', Jasper working out with really fat girls in a sh--ty setting and me running down a beach in slow motion not saying any of my f---ing lyrics," Tyler said.

In another scene, Tyler and his merry band of musical misfits take on rap video clichés: Jasper, Tyler and Taco ham for the camera wearing jewelry, driving toy cars and tossing money at scantily clad, overweight models grinding in the back. Instead of the expected hip-hop cameos, Tyler invited Cali skater Antwuan Dixon to kick, push on set. "I always wanted to make a normal rap video with cars and girls and money and 40 of my n---as in the background," he said. "So I emulated that at the end, but I did it my way."

'Arrested Development' Producer Shoots Down Script Rumors

'I've seen some of [Mitch Hurwitz's] script,' Brian Grazer says of long-awaited adaptation of Fox series.

Brian Grazer is attached to two of Hollywood's most sought-after projects with director Ron Howard: the new TV episodes and film for "Arrested Development" and the adaption of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series. Both have been in the pipelines for years but are now finally close to heading into production. MTV News asked about the films when he sat down with the producer to talk about his upcoming film "Tower Heist."

After about five years of speculation, the team behind the cult hit series "Arrested Development" announced plans to produce a short season of new episodes followed by a feature film. Grazer confirmed the plan, saying, "We're going to do 10 episodes and the movie." He also mentioned that he had seen some of the script by series creator Mitch Hurwitz but denied rumors that the plot would follow Ron Howard as he tries to make a movie based on the series' characters the Bluths.

Grazer also took time to comment on the state of the much-discussed "Dark Tower" adaptation, which was slated for a multiplatform treatment covering film and television but ran into trouble with its large budget.

"When people say no to you enough, you have to lose money, which we've done without harming the scope of the film," Grazer explained.

News recently hit the Web that the production had cut $45 million from the budget, and Grazer confirmed that figure, saying that the plan for both the TV and film versions still stands.

"We'll do the TV [version] with HBO," Grazer said, adding that the film versions have not yet found a studio home. But Grazer assured fans, saying, "We'll do it right."

Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg's 'High School' Soundtrack A 'Big Deal'

The O.D.: A Mixtape Exclusive

Sure, Wiz Khalifa was only 5 years old when Snoop Dogg first stepped onto the scene as a guest on Dr. Dre's 1992 classic "Deep Cover," but the two cannabis-loving MCs won't let their respective ages get in the way of collaboration. Wiz and Snoop will star alongside each other in the upcoming Dylan Brown-directed stoner comedy "Mac and Devin Go to High School" as well as on its smoked-out soundtrack.

Mixtape Daily caught up with the Doggfather and Khalifa on the set for "Young, Wild and Free," the soundtrack's official first single, and got the scoop on the rest of the LP.

"We got the homey Juicy J on the soundtrack, we got Curren$y on the soundtrack, but mainly it's just me and Dogg," Wiz revealed. Overall, Khalifa is just hyped up to work with one of his idols. They linked on Wiz's "Black & Yellow" remix, Snoop's "This Weed Iz Mine," as well as a bunch of underground songs like "That Good" and "French Inhale."

"It's a real big deal because nobody's done it like that as far as a veteran in the game, an OG, a pioneer and then the newest, youngest, most exciting dude in rap coming through and really just giving people a complete project," Wiz said. "I'm a fan of it, separate myself from making it, [I'm] a huge fan of it. Can't wait." As far as the musical vibe of the soundtrack, a laidback Snoop tried his best to describe it. "It's something to relax you and get you through the day; it's some real good music. The music is quality, I don't even have no title for it, as far as what kinda music is it, it's centric, it's ...," Dogg said searching for the right words before his partner-in-rhyme lent a hand. "Eclectic," Wiz chimed in.

"Yeah, that's probably what it is," Snoop finished.
