Justin Bieber is about to share his top-secret approach to writing his upcoming holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, with MTV News, but first, there's something he'd like to clear up:

"People get confused: My song is 'Mistletoe,' my album is Under the Mistletoe, so don't get it confused," he explained. "Don't get it twisted."

So now you know. And of course, that "Mistletoe" video will premiere tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV — with a special live stream to follow on MTV.com — giving his fans the first taste of what they can expect on Under the Mistletoe, which is due November 1. It's a collection of brand-new Bieber songs and his renditions of holiday standards, one he hopes will not only become a classic in its own right, but will tide the True Beliebers over until he releases the proper follow-up to his smash My World 2.0 album.

"I was going to put out my album soon anyways, and I was thinking, 'It's near Christmastime. If I'm going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I'd just do a Christmas album,' " he said. "The fans get more music, and everyone's happy.

"I just picked my favorite Christmas songs. I picked 'Silent Night,' I picked 'Santa [Claus Is] Coming to Town,' because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics. They get people excited for Christmas," he continued. "And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There's a lot of new stuff on there."

Oh, and as far as that secret songwriting approach, well, it turns out that in order to pen holiday tunes, Bieber forced himself to get in the Christmas spirit — even if he was working on most of the songs in August and September. And how did he do that? He turned to Christmas cookies, of course.

"It's different, because you've gotta think Christmastime. You've gotta think, 'What's at Christmas? Mistletoe, reindeer, Santa, all these things.' And especially when it's not Christmastime, it's hard to really get your mind around it," he said. "But once you get into it, like, I was really thinking it was Christmastime when I was writing this album. ... We had Christmas cookies [in the studio]."

Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber's "Mistletoe" video tonight at 7:54 p.m. on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com!

Eminem, Lil Wayne Named 'Gods Of Rock' By GQ

Eminem might rap for a living, but when you examine his career trajectory, it reads more rock star than hip-hop heavyweight. No surprise, then, that GQ magazine named him a God of Rock and placed him alongside Keith Richards and Lil Wayne on their November cover.

Em and Lil Wayne were shot for the cover at the 2011 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in June, while the Rolling Stones guitarist was shot separately in New York. In a portfolio consisting of 43 such Gods of Rock, Eminem's story and photographs particularly stand out. In his feature, the 39-year old rhyme icon talked about his downward-spiraling addiction, which began with his 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP and peaked during the recording of his fourth album Encore.

"Five or six songs leaked from the original version of Encore," Em told GQ Senior Editor Will Welch in an interview. "So I had to go in and make new songs to replace them. In my head, I was pissed off: 'Oh well. Songs leaked. F--- it. I'm just going to take a bunch of f---ing pills and go in there and have a party with myself.' I'm sure the more pills I took, the goofier I got."

The multiplatinum rapper now embraces his sobriety and utilizes his natural quirks to fuel his music. "The same way that his brain was wired that gave him problems with substances also sort of makes him a virtuoso," Welch told MTV News.

"I've realized that the way I am helps with the music. Sporadic thoughts will pop into my head and I'll have to go write something down, and the next thing you know, I've written a whole song in an hour," Em said in the magazine. "But sometimes it sucks, and I wish I was wired like a regular person and could go have a f---in' drink. But that's the biggest thing about addiction: When you realize that you cannot — for f---'s sake, you can not — f--- around with nothing ever again."

Em, however, is just one of several survivors GQ spotlights in a special portfolio, which was shot by Mark Seliger. Metallica, Robert Plant, Beck and Erykah Badu also appear. As for the three cover subjects, GQ wanted to pick prime examples of musical perseverance. "We wanted to answer the question: Who are the living legends out there that have survived against all adversity?" Welch explained. "It has to be people who are still incredibly influential. It can't be somebody who has been through hell and back and reached a zenith in their career in 1976 and isn't still relevant and isn't still making music."

GQ's November 2011 issue goes on sale October 25 nationwide.

'Dancing With The Stars': J.R. Martinez Heats Things Up

Ricki Lake, however, wasn't atop the leaderboard like usual.

It was, like, totally '80s week Monday night on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars."

The show opened with the Bangles performing a quick medley of "Eternal Flame" and "Walk Like an Egyptian" before the remaining celebrities kicked off their performances. Some of the stars grabbed their highest scores of the season, others (like constant score leader Ricki Lake) dropped a bit in rankings.

Here's how everyone fared:

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
The athlete was assigned the tango this week, and the twosome danced to Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer." The judges found the routine to be strong, sexy and powerful. "Tango is about action and reaction. Hope: You were too willowy. You're too willowy in the body. I don't know how Maks controls you. Having said that, I like the aggression and the attack that you put into it," said head judge Len Goodman. 24/30

Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya
Kressley said this has been the most stressful week. He took on the jive and said he couldn't believe he was still in the game. They danced a rather colorful and cheerleader-friendly routine to Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," and the judges thought it was good, wacky fun but lacked technique. "This is a crowning achievement in madness," Bruno Tonioli said. 19/30

Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus
After landing one point off the bottom, the TV host took on the rumba to a Spandau Ballet track. The judges thought it was simple but very effective. Still, they wanted more and pointed out a few unstable moments. "It was appropriate. But I want to see real passion when you're dancing. I don't feel a connection necessarily to the dance. They're feeling a little on the drab side to me. And I think you're a really good dancer. I just want to see more," Carrie Ann Inaba said. 22/30

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff
The war hero and actor danced the samba to Gloria Estefan's "Conga," and it took a while for the audience to simmer down. Likewise, the judges found the routine to be hot and loved his performance. "Way to go, Jose! I didn't think you'd come out and perform anything like that, because normally guys and the samba don't work together. But in the future, if anyone says to me how should a guy dance the dance, I'll say just have a look at J.R," Goodman said. 28/30

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke
The reality star took on the rumba to Lionel Richie, and the judges thought his dance to "Hello" was a very sentimental and romantic performance. "We're starting to see Rob the heartthrob. For the first time, I see you using Cheryl as a partner, not hiding behind her, but becoming part of a unit," Tonioli said. 25/30

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer
The duo danced the samba to Kool and the Gang's "Get Down On It," and unlike other weeks, the judges thought the performance was a step in the right direction. Bono was injury-free and hit the dance floor like he's never done before. "It's so nice to see you going strong from last week. That was the most dancing I think I've seen you do. Shake it, don't break it! Good job," Inaba said. Hard-to-please judge Goodman agreed, saying, "I think that was a gallant effort. I think you got a feel for the dance. What I liked is that you came out and really gave it a go." 21/30

David Arquette and Kym Johnson
Arquette was assigned the tango, and he and his partner performed to "Tainted Love." He was looking to jump out from the middle of the pack and get a higher score from the judges. (It worked, he earned his highest score in the competition so far.) The judges were all unanimous in their celebration of Arquette, though Inaba and Goodman argued about whether he needed to work on his musicality. "We're at the halfway stage now. From here on in, you have to show up or shut up. You have shown up, and it was fantastic!" Goodman said. 25/30

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough
This twosome has dominated the leaderboard this season, and on Monday night, they danced the foxtrot to the Phil Collins and Philip Bailey hit "Easy Lover." They took an '80s-prom-like spin on the dance, and the judges thought they should have avoided doing the Roger Rabbit dance at the beginning of their routine. They felt the cheesy '80s dance move threw off the routine. "You did the Roger Rabbit the first time, and you were way off. But when you two dance, what I love the most is how amazingly you work as a team. It's like you're one person," Inaba said. 24/30

The new year might still be a few months off, but the always-ambitious Taylor Swift is already cooking up some big projects for 2012. With her new album, full of "sad" songs, already in the planning stages, Swift excitedly dished that it's not the only big thing she has up her sleeve for next year.

Her arena-filling, celeb-frequented Speak Now Tour continues chugging along through the early part of 2012, and her perfume, Wonderstruck, is now out on the market, giving fans the chance to smell like the pop star. But, Swift is also making time for some other projects she thinks will have her fans excited.

The singer told MTV News she's working on "some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting."

"I've just been so excited about what's gonna happen in the next year," she said. "I'm also really excited about [the next album]. I've been writing all the time. I've been writing so much for the new record. I can't believe I'm saying that already: It comes out in a year, but I'm already excited about it."

Before we officially ring in the new year, Swift shared that she's looking forward to the tail end of 2011, with the holidays and her 22nd birthday still to celebrate. "I'm excited about the holidays," she said. "I love Christmas. I love the whole buildup to Christmas and the way that everything is exciting and wintergreen-ish and Christmas tree-ish."

Last week, MTV viewers were taken into the life of Pennsylvania 20-something Chelsea Settles. In addition to dealing with the growing pains of post-adolescent life, Settles is on a mission to lose weight and get healthy for the first time.

There are some funny scenes in the premiere, but there are also a lot of real moments as she struggles with her desire to grow up, get healthy, move to L.A. and pursue a career in the fashion industry. The show's first episode wasn't all that easy for Settles to watch.

"It was really weird for me," she told MTV News. "It was weird for me to see my name on the [television] guide, hearing my voice [on the show]. I was pacing around the house; I was really worried. ... I felt like, 'Is that really me? Do I really sound like that?'

"I feel like I have more of a zest and more of a glow for life now, and back then, I didn't have that. I didn't realize I cried that much."

The show includes her support system: her mom, grandmother and cousin Jarel, who all try to push Settles out of her comfort zone. Fans will also get to know her boyfriend, Rory, who is in the army and not as supportive of her decisions. They all have played a part in Settles' commitment to getting healthy and getting to know herself better.

"It was still heartbreaking — just seeing how unhappy I was," she said." I was tripped out that I had allowed myself to get to that point. I was really unhappy, and I can't believe I would have settled living my life that way forever. I'm so thankful I took the chance to turn things around.

"When it came to helping myself, I suppressed everything. For me, this whole journey has been about finding myself and learning to lean on other people for support."

In the show's second episode, airing tonight (October 18), Settles heads out west to the City of Angels. After a traumatizing night out at a club in the first episode, where she was bullied for her appearance, viewers will get to see her attempt to hit the social scene again, learn more about her family and watch her try her hand at new job experiences. They'll be a lot of ups and downs, that's for sure.

"On the next episode, you get to meet Jenna, my roommate, and I'm really excited about that. That's going to be a trip, because we're completely opposite. We're like 'The Odd Couple,' " she teased. "She's a really fun girl, so that'll be really cool.

"You'll get to see our relationship. There are ups and downs, just like any type of situation dealing with roommates," she continued. "This was my first time having a roommate, so you'll see a lot of the relationship drama. There will be some other guys and flirty things going on. You'll see training, which was a nightmare, because I am not athletic."

Don't miss the new episode of "Chelsea Settles," airing tonight (October 18) at 11 p.m. ET/PT (10 Central) on MTV.

Justin Bieber Caught 'Christmas Spirit' In 'Mistletoe' Video

SANTIAGO, ChileJustin Bieber faced plenty of challenges when he shot his "Mistletoe" video, the least of which was the fact that he did it in September, in Tennessee, with fake snow cascading down from the sky. The way he tells it, the biggest obstacle was not even being weirded out by Santa.

"It was different because, like, it's a Christmas video, so you gotta get your Christmas spirit on," Bieber told MTV News backstage in Santiago, Chile, where he played to 55,000 screaming fans on Saturday. "We had Santa there. He was kind of interesting because he had this finger that would light up, but I never knew that, so he would come up to me randomly and pointed at me and his finger lit up and it was really strange. I was like, 'Santa doesn't do that, my friend.' "

Of course, Bieber was quick to add that despite the awkward interaction, he remains decidedly pro-Santa, since "he gets kids in the holiday spirit."

Bieber's "Mistletoe" video will make its world premiere Tuesday at 7:54 p.m. on MTV — with a special live stream to follow on MTV.com, where we'll roll out more of our interview with him! — and on Monday (October 17), he released the song to iTunes. He's rather proud of how both turned out, because he got to collaborate with two of his favorites: director Roman White and the production team known as the Messengers.

"[Roman] can tell a story really well, so we wanted to use him," Bieber explained. "He shot the 'One Less Lonely Girl' video, and I thought he did a great job; he shot the 'You Belong [With] Me' video with Taylor Swift, and he had a lot of great experience and a lot of great work.

"[And] Nasri [one member of the Messengers team], he's really intelligent, he can tell a story as well, Christmas, anything," he continued. "So we were thinking of doing a Christmas album last year, we never really got to it. And this year I was like, 'This year I really want to do it,' so we collaborated on some ideas and sure enough, we got some great Christmas music. ... I think I have a few classics on the album, I really, really do. I think that there's some songs on there that are so catchy and everyone's going to want to sing them every Christmas."

Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber's "Mistletoe" video Tuesday, October 18, at 7:54 p.m. on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com.

'Hunger Games' Cast Is 'Amazing,' Stanley Tucci Says

Actor promises a 'bizarre' Caesar Flickerman, just like in the books.
By Eric Ditzian

"Wait till you see Stanley Tucci do Caesar Flickerman," teased "Hunger Games" director Gary Ross back in August as MTV News was getting set to debut first-look footage from the upcoming adaptation of the best-selling young-adult series.

We had to wait then — the teaser only showcased Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen — and we continue to wait to finally peep Tucci as Flickerman, the flamboyantly attired interviewer who chats with each tribute before the start of the gladiatorial competition known as the Hunger Games. But whenever fans do get to check out Flickerman, they can be sure the character will stay true to the guy readers are familiar with from Suzanne Collins' novels.

How do we know? Tucci told us himself.

"Absolutely it [stays true]. Blue hair. Very bizarre," the actor said while promoting his upcoming drama about the mortgage crisis "Margin Call."

Earlier this year, Tucci was in England shooting "Jack the Giant Killer" when he began to map out his Flickerman look. "We had wigs made there," he said. "I had some noses made, which we ended up not using and teeth and a whole bunch of different things. When I got to North Carolina [to shoot 'Hunger Games'], we played around for about seven hours and we started shooting the next day. I was only there for about a week, but it was fantastic."

One of the scenes he shot was the pre-Games interviews with Lawrence's Katniss and Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark, who confesses his love for Katniss during the chat. Both Lawrence and Hutcherson, Tucci said, pulled off the pivotal scene with an aplomb that defied their years.

"She was amazing," he said. "They were all amazing. She's just so good and so mature at such a young age. It was really fun. Really fun. And Gary, he's great."

Check out everything we've got on "The Hunger Games."

Lil Wayne already has a super successful franchise in Tha Carter series, so why would he want to rest on his laurels?

Young Money Records President Mack Maine exclusively revealed to MTV News that not only is Weezy about to lay down tracks for a sequel to his Rebirth rock album, but the "How to Love" hitmaker is already knee-deep in recording a follow-up to 2010's I Am Not a Human Being LP.

"He's, like, 12 songs in, and he went crazy. He went left. He's in Martian land right now," Mack said of I Am Not a Human Being 2.

The original Human Being was released digitally in September 2010 while Birdman Jr. was in jail. Though Wayne wasn't around to promote it, the album contained singles like "Right Above" with Drake and "I'm Single" and has been certified gold by the RIAA. The physical copy of the album debuted at #1 when it dropped in October 2010.

According to the YM prez, each separate album franchise allows Wayne the chance to showcase different artistic sides. "He gets to show his rock side, he gets to show his gangsta side and talk to the women on one side," Mack said of the Rebirth and Carter series, respectively. "On I Am Not a Human Being, he is definitely showing some weirdo, left-brain, I'm-not-from-here type side. He can say what he wants. There are no boundaries, there are no limits."

However diverse he may be in the booth, when Wayne performs live, he is able to pool all his collective talents together — as well as their respective fans. "He captures all those different audiences, and then at a concert or a show, you bring all those different people together," Mack explained. "You bring your Rebirth rock people, you bring your Carter people, and you bring your I Am Not a Human Being [crowd], and you have a great show. That's why we sell out arenas every night."

There is no release date yet for I Am Not a Human Being 2 or Rebirth 2.

Zachary Quinto 'Grateful' For Support After Coming Out

'Star Trek' actor tells MTV News the response has been 'enormously supportive — universally, unanimously supportive.'
By Eric Ditzian

Zachary Quinto

Since Zachary Quinto pronounced himself a "gay man" in a New York magazine interview and then took to his blog to pen an explanation about his decision to come out, the "Star Trek" actor has been overwhelmed by the positive response across the Web.

"It's been enormously supportive — universally, unanimously supportive," he told MTV News on Monday morning (October 17) while promoting his Wall Street drama "Margin Call." "I'm really grateful for that."

Quinto explained that the recent suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer, a young teen who was the victim of gay bullying, made him realize that he could no longer live a gay life without acknowledging in public that he was, in fact, gay. From the timelines of Twitter to the comments section on his blog, the response to his announcement has been supportive. "I admire your courage for looking inside yourself and realizing what kind of real power you have for making a difference," one commenter on his blog wrote.

While the actor has been an outspoken advocate on gay issues in the past, recording an "It Gets Better" video last fall, Quinto told us he's now looking forward to diving more fully into the ever-evolving conversation about teen sexuality and bullying.

"I feel like I made that declaration so that I can be a part of this conversation moving forward," he told us. "I did it in my own time, on my own terms, in my own words. That's exactly the way that I wanted to do it, and I'm really proud of that. When the time is right to continue the conversation forward, I certainly will do that. That's why I took those steps in the first place."

The first 24 hours of Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald's married life seem to be going quite well. The newlyweds took to Twitter to let their fans know just how happy they are after Sunday's wedding.

"Yesterday was the most magical day of my life..." the "Twilight" actress tweeted Monday (October 17), one day after she said "I do" to the "American Idol" singer.

"Yesterday was the most amazing day of my life," Mc Donald wrote, echoing his bride's enthusiasm. "Everything was perfect. I'm officially a MARRIED MAN! Woohoo!"

The couple married in front of 100 guests in Malibu on Sunday. E! News reports that "Idol" singer Stefano Langone played the reception, along with McDonald's band, Grand Magnolias. McDonald also reportedly performed at the party. "Spy Kids" star and Reed pal Alexa Vega served as a bridesmaid at the festivities.

"We couldn't be happier!" the couple said in a statement after news broke of their wedding. "[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We're so glad this day has come!"

The two began dating in April and got engaged just two months later. They announced their plans to marry at the MTV Movie Awards in June, where Reed was spotted sporting an engagement ring.

"She's amazing. It's kind of one of those things you don't expect," McDonald gushed to MTV News earlier this year. "Like, last year I never would have thought I'd be getting married. She's amazing. She's the perfect girl. We fit each other. When you know, you know, and she's the one."

The pair have been quite public about their relationship. McDonald plans to release an album tentatively called The Nikki Reed EP, and when Reed hit up the Teen Choice Awards in August, she was sporting Paul's face on her nails and revealed that he was being quite the bridezilla.

"He's doing a lot of it, he is. He's, like, taking control," Reed said about McDonald's part in the wedding planning. "He sits with his computer in between songs and is kind of on a roll with everything."

Justin Timberlake paid tribute Monday (October 17) to late Indy racer Dan Wheldon, who was killed Sunday in a horrific 15-car crash at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Wheldon's car was sponsored by Timberlake's clothing line, William Rast, and the two men were said to be friendly.

"I was deeply saddened to hear the news on Dan Wheldon's unfortunate and untimely death," Timberlake said in a statement. "He was a great driver and a strong supporter of William Rast Racing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in their time of loss."

British driver Wheldon, 33, the father of two young children with wife Susie Behm, was airlifted to a local hospital in the wake of the crash, which sent his car hurtling through the air after it struck another racer's vehicle. He was pronounced dead a few hours later.

Actress Ashley Judd, who attended the race in support of her husband, driver Dario Franchitti, also paid tribute to Wheldon, writing a memorial poem on her Twitter feed. "As we continue to absorb Dan's accident — we forget, remember, re-experience shock, denial, anger, pain — I'm reminded of a favorite poem," she wrote before quoting John Donne's "Holy Sonnet 10": "DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so, For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow, Due not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me. From rest & sleepe, which but thy pictures be, Much pleasure then from thee, much more must flow, And soonest our best men with thee doe goe, Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie. One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally, And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die."

The other drivers in the race took five laps in Wheldon's honor following the crash, which ended the contest.

Michael Jackson Trial Put On Hold Until Wednesday

Judge suspends trial of Dr. Conrad Murray due to a death in key witness' family.
By Gil Kaufman

After taking the day off Friday just as the prosecution was preparing to wrap up its case, the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is on hold due to the death of the father of the prosecution's final witness.

According to , the Los Angeles Court public information office sent out a notice Sunday explaining that details on the resumption of the trial will be sent out "when further information is available." After two weeks of evidence attempting to portray Murray as negligent and reckless in his care for Jackson, the prosecution was close to wrapping up its part of the case when testimony was suspended Friday to allow final witness Dr. Steven Shafer to travel to a previously scheduled anesthesiology conference in Chicago.

But, en route to the conference, Shafter learned that his father had died, and he never made it to the event. Shafer, described as a highly respected anesthesiologist and pharmacologist, was expected to testify about the effects of the surgical anesthetic propofol on the human body. Jackson died as a result of propofol intoxication, and the case against Murray hinges on the prosecution's theory that the cardiologist gave the pop icon a lethal dose of the drug and then provided substandard care when Jackson went into cardiac arrest as a result.

The Associated Press reported that the trial will resume Wednesday, after the judge in the case agreed to give the defense more time to prepare their response to tests the coroner's office conducted last week on the level of the sedative lorazepam in Jackson's system.

Shafer is also expected to give a key piece of evidence to counter the defense's claim that Jackson self-administered the fatal 25mg dose of propofol through an IV catheter in his leg.

After pursuing a strategy in which the defense intended to portray Jackson as having taken the deadly dose of propofol by himself when Murray was out of the room, the doctor's legal team pivoted last week and appeared set on focusing on an allegedly self-administered overdose of lorazepam instead.

Once Shafer gives his testimony, the defense will present its case and call an estimated 15 witnesses, which could take the testimony through Friday or next Monday.

Drake Finds 'King' Crown Heavy On Take Care

'I used to stare at this world through a glass window,' Drizzy tells MTV News of grappling with fame.

Life has changed pretty fast for Drake. In just two years, the platinum rap start went from promising Toronto MC to one of hip-hop's top hitmakers. But the transition has taken a mental toll and it forms the basis of Drizzy's November 15 album, Take Care — and its pensive cover.

"The album is actually a story," Drake told MTV News while in New York last week for his "Saturday Night Live" appearance.

The inspiration for Take Care, the MC said, came from the mellowed-out track "Houstonaltantavegas," which appeared on his 2009 breakout mixtape So Far Gone. On the song, Drake created a fictional world, describing a love affair with an ambitious stripper who can't quite get out of the life. "It was a world that was very much real to me, but I created it in my mind. It was a world that, being a kid from Toronto, I used to look at from the outside and I used to be like, 'Man that looks crazy,' " he told us. "All those strip clubs and all those nightclubs and the drinks and the girls and the fame."

Through his rhymes, Drake inserted himself into a scene that he would soon come to know well in a life-imitating-art scenario. "I used to stare at this world through a glass window and, like, two to three years later, I become a king in that world," he said.

On his Take Care album cover, the rapper appears draped in gold jewelry and looking bothered, with his head hanging down. Hardly an image one would expect from a kid who has moved up the ranks in hip-hop, after selling more than a million copies of his debut album in 2010. Drake is clearly at odds with his fame.

"That's who's sitting on that album cover, that kid that's just somehow gone from his mom's basement in Toronto to becoming a king," he explained of the image. "That's what that album cover is about and there is a lot of deep thought involved in that 'cause you can go crazy doing this."

Does that mean Drake has already had his fill of the fame and the fortune? "No, I'm immersed in that lifestyle, but I'm not gonna let it consume me though," he said. "That's what the album is pretty much about, just staying sane, but maybe, maybe not really though. You have to listen to it."

30 Seconds to Mars released This Is War in December 2009 and have spent basically every waking moment since on the road promoting it (when they weren't making 15-minute, NFSW mini-movies, of course). To date, they've played shows on six continents, and now, all that touring will earn them a place in the "Guinness Book of World Records."

On December 7, 30STM will perform their 300th — and final — show in support of War, at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. And when that gig is completed, they'll officially set the record for Most Shows Performed During a Single Album Cycle.

That's according to a press release issued Monday (October 17) by the band's spokesperson, which touts the show as "a special Tribus Centum Numerarae concert" and promises that "the band is also planning a special week of unique shows celebrating this milestone, beginning on December 5."

"We have been on the road for an incredible and insane two years and thought what better way to celebrate the end of this phenomenal journey than with a week of special shows in New York City," 30STM frontman Jared Leto said in a statement. "We thought documenting this for posterity with the 'Guinness Book of World Records' would be fun especially as we aren't any good at growing our fingernails very long or cultivating the world's largest squash."

Don't downplay a giant squash, dude. Tickets for the record-setting show are now available in an exclusive fan-club pre-sale through the band's website, with tickets being made available to the general public beginning Saturday at 10 a.m. ET.

Will you be at the record-setting show? Let us know in the comments!

Coldplay/Rihanna Duet 'Princess Of China' Leaks Online

Coldplay have performed more than half a dozen of the songs from their upcoming fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, in concert over the past year. But the one song that singer Chris Martin has called his favorite, a hookup with Rihanna called "Princess of China," has remained elusive.

That is until Monday morning (October 17) when the tune leaked online and the world finally got a taste of what the first guest vocal on a Coldplay album sounds like. The tune opens with typically epic, widescreen Coldplay fanfare overlaid with Rihanna wailing "Oh, oh whoa whoa oh," before settling down into a slinky, pulsing R&B beat. Martin is up first, whisper singing, "Once upon a time somebody ran/ Somebody ran away saying as fast as I can/ I got to go/ I got to go," before Rihanna comes in with the lines, "Once upon a time we weren't right/ All we ever seemed to do is fight/ On and on/ And on and on and on."

Ri goes on to dream about being a princess in a castle with her king and a ring, before lamenting, "You stole my star/ La la la la la la." The glitchy, spare keyboards come back in again before the "Whoa whoa oh" chorus explodes once more and the two singers entwine their voices for a chorus of " 'Cause you really hurt me" laments. Their vocals seem perfectly matched, with Martin's falsetto sitting nicely beside Rihanna's higher range. And like the thumping previously released "Paradise," the insistent beat on "Princess" is another nod to the more expansive sound on the upcoming album.

"Well, her bit on our record is my favorite bit ... when the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it," Martin said last month. "And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we've been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music. ... Because from where we're sitting, it seems like you can try and sound any way you like nowadays. You don't have to be in a rock box or a hip-hop box or a pop box, and I think it's fun when you embrace that idea."

The album is due out October 25, and the band will embark on a series of high-profile TV appearances to promote it, including a November 12 slot on "Saturday Night Live" with host Emma Stone. They'll also drop in at "The Colbert Report" on October 20, the "Today" show the next day and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on October 27.

Future Fulfills Demand With Streetz Calling Mixtape

'If the streets callin', I'm answering on the first ring,' Future tells Mixtape Daily.

Mixtape: Streetz Calling

Real Spit: These days the demand for Future is pretty high. Just when it seemed folks were getting caught up with his June tape True Story, the "Tony Montana" rapper hooked up with Gucci Mane to drop Free Bricks in July and then returned again in September with Streetz Calling. The rookie may be moving at an accelerated pace, but if you let Future tell it, he doesn't have much of a choice.

"The reason I named the mixtape Streetz Calling is because I had did so many mixtapes and I felt like everybody always say, 'Future, when you gonna drop a new mixtape? You need to drop another one, you need to drop another one,' " he told Mixtape Daily.

After building a buzz with his 2010 appearance on YC's hit single "Racks" and a pair of tapes (1000 and Dirty Sprite), Future now stands as one of rap's top prospects. It's a position that he fully embraces on the opening track of Streetz Calling. "Made Myself a Boss" is a self-assuring tale of the rapper's come-up. The Sonny Digital-produced "Same Damn Time" is just as cocky, as it finds Future bragging on his multi-tasking abilities, while "If You Knew What It Took" is a little more heartfelt. "I'm standing in the middle of the rain, trying wash out this pain," he sings of his problems on the track's first verse.

Gucci Mane lends some bars on "The Way It Go," and Duct Tape Entertainment's Trouble helps out on "E," but for the most part Future holds his own. With his latest, the "Magic" MC is simply supplying the demand. "I felt like this mixtape, the streets callin' me to do it," he said. "If the streets callin', I'm answering on the first ring."

Joints to Check For
» "Gone to the Moon" - "The reason I say I'm goin' to the moon is because I feel like I'm outta here right now. I'm just doin' something different. Like I say on the first track, 'I woke up like Hugh Heffner.' Like I'm going to the moon, everything I do is big."

» "If You Knew What It Took" - "It's just all the hard work. If you knew what it took to get here. Man, hard work, perseverance, just about being grinding in the studio sessions, the relationships and the people who just fell off because they were like, I'm not stickin' around to see your dream and it might not never happen."

Britney Spears GIF-ting Fans With 'Criminal' Teases

It's a big week for music video premieres thanks to Justin Bieber, Beyoncé and Rihanna. And Britney Spears wants in on the fun too, as her "Criminal" video is also set to drop this week. Spears gave fans a taste of what to expect with a series of GIFs at Tumblr.

The five GIFs begin to weave together the story of the Chris Marrs Piliero-directed video. In one tease, Spears is all dolled up in a lacy cocktail dress as she attends a glamorous party. In another tease, Spears is seen running out of a building with gun in hand.

Another tease represents art imitating life. In it, Spears and real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick, who also plays her love interest in the video, share a kiss. The other two teases are a bit less action-oriented as she's just spotted standing around looking sexy in a black lingerie dress and twirling her hair around.

Spears looks incredibly glam in the teases for the slow jam's video, something that Piliero teased on Twitter recently. "Not a whole lot I'm allowed to say about the @britneyspears criminal vid other than that I love this video and can't wait for it to come out," he wrote. "Oh and that she looks gorgeous in it ... pretty sure it's cool for me to say that. ..."

The video is expected to drop this week, although the exact release date hasn't been announced.

Spears shot the video last month in London, right before kicking off the European leg of her Femme Fatale Tour. Little is known about the plot of the video, but when Spears was photographed carrying a prop gun on set, politicians in the U.K. accused the star of glorifying violence after the London riots. The video was shot in Hackney, which was hit hard by the August riots, and local politicians were upset by what they saw as an insensitive gesture by Spears.

"It is only a music video, but it's images like this, with pop stars glamorizing gangs, which means that some young people ... get drawn in," Hackney's Member of Parliament Diane Abbott told the ITV news program "London Tonight." "Britney should really know better."

Spears' camp shrugged off any criticism in a statement to MTV News: "The video is a fantasy story featuring Britney's boyfriend, Jason Trawick, which literally plays out the lyrics of a song written three years before the riots ever happened."

Zachary Quinto Announces He's A 'Gay Man'

'Star Trek' actor had dodged rumors before making revelation in New York magazine.

For years, "Star Trek" actor Zachary Quinto dodged questions about his sexuality, preferring to keeping his private life private and let his work on TV shows such as "Heroes" and movies like the recent "What's Your Number" do the talking.

Then, unexpectedly, he offhandedly outed himself in an interview with New York magazine, while discussing his starring role last year in the restaging of the early AIDS-era drama "Angels in America."

Quinto told the magazine that his eight-month role in the epic Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tony Kushner was "the most challenging thing I've ever done as an actor and the most rewarding"; he took on the grueling role of Louis Ironson, a character who walks out on his AIDS-stricken boyfriend. "And at the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there's still so much work to be done, and there's still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed."

Quinto, who has been outspoken on gay rights issues in the past, told The New York Times last year that even though blogs were full of speculation about his orientation, he preferred "not to feed the rumor mill with either substantiation or dismissal."

But the events of the past year appear to have had an impact on him and Quinto seemed comfortable at this point announcing his orientation. Thinking about how the last few months have seen gay marriage legalized in New York while also marking the recent suicide of bullied gay teen Jamey Rodemeyer, Quinto said, "And again, as a gay man I look at that and say there's a hopelessness that surrounds it, but as a human being I look at it and say 'Why? Where's this disparity coming from, and why can't we as a culture and society dig deeper to examine that?' We're terrified of facing ourselves."

He was also glad to be in town promoting the financial crisis thriller "Margin Call" — the first feature from his production company, Before the Door Pictures — while hundreds of Occupy Wall Street protesters are camped out in New York's Zuccotti Park. "The timing couldn't be more impeccable for us to try to create a dialogue, which is exactly why we made the movie in the first place," he said.

While he's in town to promote the film, Quinto said he planned to go down and see the protesters to get a flavor of the sit-in. "As a left-leaning Democrat, I feel a sense of resonance with their position," he said. "But as a citizen of this country, I feel deeply unsettled that people are rising up in movements against each other. It feels like we're missing the mark. ... The bottom line is we're all f---ed, and we're all in this together."
