'I'm trying to create a new sound,' Bieber tells MTV News about follow-up to My World 2.0, due 'early next year.'

It seems sort of odd to talk about Justin Bieber's next album, given that his new album — the holiday-riffic Under the Mistletoe — doesn't hit stores until November 1.

But, when MTV News caught up with Bieber this past weekend in Santiago, Chile — where he was wrapping up his two-year My World Tour in record-setting fashion — he was more than ready to start discussing the follow-up to his massive My World 2.0 album, mostly because he's been hard at work on it for a while now, and the finish line is definitely in sight.

"What's happening is: get off this tour, and then my [holiday] album's coming out, so I have to go back out and promote that album ... and then after that ... it's almost time for my next album, so then everything starts over again," Bieber told us. "We've already started [working on it], but we're going to be going in every day and working with new people and trying to find the best sound, because I'm going to be recording different styles, different things until I find a solid 15 songs that I love. ... I'm going to be recording as many songs as I possibly can."

As for the release date for the new album, Bieber doesn't know specifics just yet, but he promised it'll be out "soon ... early next year." For fans seeking a sneak peek at the next step in his musical evolution, they've only got to check out his recent remix of Drake's "Trust Issues."

"I loved the song; I thought it was a dope song. I actually cover it in my concert," he said. "I'm going to mature; I'm going to evolve. I don't feel like I'm going to do it too fast or too slow: I'm going to do it at the pace that I feel comfortable doing it."

Of course, that's just one direction he's hoping to head in. Because, first and foremost, Bieber said that on his next album, he's looking to create something entirely new, while still maintaining a connection to his past.

"I'm trying to create a new sound that people aren't really used to hearing, so it might sound weird at first, but it's going to be like when Justin Timberlake did FutureSex/LoveSounds: It was a new sound ... acoustic guitar over hard drums," he explained. "I want to find something that's going to suit me and my fans are going to love and older people will like and younger people will like. But I'm always trying to keep my core fanbase, because the young people are what make everything cool. Old people look to young people, so trying to keep everyone happy."

Britney Spears' 'Criminal' Director Talks Gun Controversy

When Britney Spears hit London to shoot her "Criminal" video, she caused quite a stir. The singer immediately was criticized by local officials for her use of a gun in the sexy, crime-fantasy clip. Spears addressed the issue, shrugging off the controversy, and this week, fans finally got to see what all the fuss was about when the steamy clip dropped.

MTV News spoke to the video's director, Chris Marrs Piliero, who said he was surprised the video's gunplay became such a big deal.

"Holding the gun became a controversial thing 'cause we filmed it in London, and they don't have a lot of gun use out there," he explained. "That doesn't mean that there's no gun use, so I did find it really interesting. For me, the thing is, it blew me away that members of [the British] Parliament were speaking about this. One, because it's a music video, and two, because don't you guys have television shows out there that show crime?

"It's really strange to me," he continued, adding just what bothered him most about the controversy: "I don't understand why pop stars are put on such a high pedestal over other celebrities. Why do members of Parliament feel that they need to scrutinize her for having a gun, and 'She's in the public,' and 'She should know better,' and 'She's a role model,' but what about every other celebrity out there? What about every other actor? That's very strange to me. I was really surprised at how much the gun use was scrutinized."

Plus, Piliero said it makes sense that the couple, played by Britney and her real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick, are using guns. "He's a professional criminal, so it makes sense he has a gun," the director said. "We shouldn't censor ourselves."

Drake 'Happy' At Young Money, Despite Rumors

'I really don't want to go anywhere,' Drake tells MTV News of rumblings that he's ready to leave Lil Wayne's label.

Drake made quite a few headlines when he announced his upcoming Club Paradise Tour at the top of October, though it might not have been the press he was looking for.

When Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky, two non-Young Money artists, were revealed as the tour's other acts, rumors began to swirl that Drake is unhappy and wants to leave Lil Wayne's label.

"I never really know where those rumors stem from," Drake told MTV News. "I'm really happy at Young Money; I really don't want to go anywhere. Me and Wayne have a great relationship."

With the lesser-known Room for Improvement and Comeback Season mixtapes under his belt, Drake caught Weezy's attention through a mutual friend and was invited out on tour with the YM boss several months before releasing his breakout tape, So Far Gone. Under Wayne's tutelage, Drizzy Drake became a star, but as big as he's gotten, he still salutes the man who put him in prime position.

"At the end of the day, that's my boss. I'm his soldier. I'm cool with that. I'm good with that," he said. "That's the role I want to play. He put me here."

In a separate interview with MTV News, Wayne gave Drake his full support and offered Take Care a glowing endorsement. "I can tell you now, I don't know nothing else out there that can touch it, including my stuff. That kid is on another planet," he said of Drake's upcoming album.

The OVO general also pointed out the Young Money artists' ability to co-exist with one another, despite all the individual success, counting Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Tyga and the rest of the crew as friends. But Drake also has another group of friends, guys he grew up with in his native Toronto. When he drops Take Care on November 15, through his music, Drake will introduce you to his other crew.

"I spent a lot of time out there [in Toronto]; that's what this album is about. That's what I'm gonna showcase," Drake explained. "It's the same thing with the tour: I wanna bring Kendrick, I wanna bring A$AP. Those are guys that I love.

"It has nothing to do with people on my label," he continued. "Tyga's out, Nicki's working on an album, and everybody else is doing their thing on the road with Wayne or with Wayne in the studio, so I just sort of showcased the music that I happen to love right now, and those are the two guys that I'm bringing out."

Red Cafe Says Debut Album, Shakedown, Coming In 2012

It's been a long road, but Red Café insists his debut album, Shakedown, will be out at the top of 2012. The Brooklyn MC has been grinding since the early 2000s, and since 2005, has consistently landed notable singles on New York radio.

First, there was "Bling Blaow," then "Paper Touchin' " in 2008. A year later, Red broke out with "Da Hottest in Da Hood," and in 2010, he dropped "I'm Ill" with Fabolous and "Money, Money, Money" with Diddy.

On Wednesday's (October 19) edition of "RapFix Live," Red assured his fans that thanks to his current deal with Bad Boy Records, the album is on its way.

"I'm working on the album now with the Bad Boy team. [Bad Boy President] Harve [Pierre] and Puff, they in there with me, giving that support that I need to make a great album that I'll be proud of," the MC told Sway on the "RFL" couch.

Throughout his career, the raspy-voiced spitter has been through a number of record deals, including a few with Trackmasters, one with Mack 10's Hoo-Bangin' and a one-shot deal with Koch Records, where he dropped a collaborative album with DJ Envy in 2007.

After a couple of failed ventures and still no solo album in site, Red took matters into his own hands. "At that point, I just felt like I needed to grab the wheel and have control of my own destiny, because I'm goin' into these record companies, and I'm thinking it's good, and it's not really good," Red explained. "A lot of it, I blame myself too, because as a young guy coming into the game, you think when you get the deal, that's the victory."

His current single, "Fly Together," which features Rick Ross and Ryan Leslie, stands as an ode to independent women everywhere. If the growing popularity of the song is any indication, fans should have that LP in no time.

Until then, Red Café is remaining patient. "I was never frustrated," he said of his musical journey. "I felt like my moment would come when it comes."

Justin Bieber managed to deck the halls and stack the decks when it came to collaborations for his November 1 holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, with everyone from Mariah Carey and Usher to Boyz II Men and the Band Perry — and even Busta Rhymes! — popping up on the record.

And some of those collaborators are even behind the idea for Bieber making a Christmas album in the first place, as he revealed to us during Tuesday's "MTV First" premiere of his "Mistletoe" video.

"I love Boyz II Men's Christmas album, I love Mariah Carey's Christmas album, and luckily enough, I got them both on my album," he said. "So that was amazing. I wanted to make a Christmas album that everyone would remember. Those are albums that people remember, so to have them be able to collaborate with me was incredible."

Another collabo Bieber is excited about is his version of "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)" with mentor Usher, which he revealed Wednesday (October 19) on Facebook would be the next single to arrive. Bieber thanked his fans for their support of the "Mistletoe" video, writing, "u guys got it to #1 worldwide. ... and next tuesday we are putting out THE CHRISTMAS SONG (Chesnuts) with Usher!!"

The song is a mixed bag of original tunes as well as brand-new songs Bieber hopes will one day become classics. "I just picked my favorite Christmas songs. I picked 'Silent Night,' I picked 'Santa [Claus Is] Coming to Town,' because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics," he said. "They get people excited for Christmas," he continued. "And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There's a lot of new stuff on there."

Considering that the holidays are the perfect time to give back, portions of the sales from the album will go to charities like Pencils of Promise and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. But Bieber isn't waiting until then to give back: "We donated $10,000 to the food bank where I grew up, and I used to actually get food from there," he said. "It was an incredible feeling, just because they were needing a lot of stuff, and it made me feel good."

Michael Jackson Overdose Re-Enacted In Court Video

Posted: 19 Oct 2011 05:01 AM PDT

Prosecution aimed to prove MJ's death could have been prevented if Dr. Conrad Murray had the proper equipment and staffing.
By Gil Kaufman

After five days of recess, the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray resumed in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday (October 19) with the airing of a dramatic video showing an actor going into cardiac arrest and being revived following a propofol overdose.

The Witness
» Dr. Steven Shafer, anesthesiologist

Key Testimony
» After the trial was recessed for two days to allow Shafer to attend a conference -- which he did not make it to in light of his father's death -- the anesthesiologist, who emphasized the fact that his pro bono consultation on the case is motivated by his desire to restore faith in the public that propofol is not fatal when administered and monitored properly, completed his testimony from last week. Shafer, an expert on the surgical anesthetic propofol, narrated a video in which jurors watched an actor pretending to go into cardiac arrest while being administered propofol. The Los Angeles coroner's office determined that Jackson died of "acute propofol intoxication," which caused the singer to go into cardiac arrest.

» In the video, doctors and nurses successfully revive the patient using equipment and staffing that Murray did not have in Jackson's home. The dramatic re-enactment capped a case from the prosecution aimed at proving that Murray acted in a negligent, unprofessional manner in his treatment of Jackson.

» Murray lawyer Ed Chernoff argued vehemently against showing the video, calling it "a terrifying dramatization of a person experiencing cardiac arrest" that he said was intended to inflame the jurors' minds. Prosecutors countered that it was aimed at educating jurors about the safe way to administer propofol. A judge allowed the video but ordered Deputy District Attorney David Walgren to re-edit the video mid-morning to delete several scenes that he said were not relevant to the case.

» Over the course of the afternoon, the prosecution walked Shafer through his analysis of 17 major infractions -- what Shafer termed "egregious violations" -- in Murray's treatment of Jackson. Four of those violations were deemed "fundamentally unconscionable," such as Murray's failure to purchase and implement the proper medical monitoring devices and his failure to chart and document his treatment of Jackson, or keep any records. "It's a setup for disaster," Shafer said, adding that the violations were all contributing factors in Jackson's death.

Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter, is facing four years in prison if convicted. But new sentencing laws in California meant to mandatorily reduce state prison overcrowding mean that, as a nonviolent offender with no prior record, he could be sentenced to county jail instead. If that is the case, his sentence could be reduced to two years and, because of overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail, he may be allowed to serve the majority of his time under supervised house arrest.

Britney Spears Boyfriend's 'Criminal' Role 'A Challenge'

Britney Spears certainly had everyone talking when she dropped her steamy "Criminal" video. Sure, fans were talking about the sex and gunplay, but they were also going bananas over the appearance of Brit's real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick, who plays her criminally handsome beau in the clip.

The idea to include Trawick in the video was all Britney's, but director Chris Marrs Piliero wasn't sure he was so into it. "When she first hit me up, she had a basic story in mind, and she actually always originally planned to have Jason, her boyfriend, play the role, and I wasn't super stoked on that idea at first, actually," he told MTV News.

Most of his reservations were because Trawick isn't a professional actor and he wasn't sure his rookie acting skills would translate well in the mini-movie. "I wanted to make a really rad, epic video, and I definitely got the sense from her she wanted something really cool," he explained. "And in my mind, I was just thinking then, 'We really should not be using your boyfriend; we should get an actor.' So, I mean, I didn't say that, but in the back of my mind, I'm like, 'I don't like this idea at all.' "

Trawick and his abs, however, managed to impress Piliero — and Britney loyalists everywhere. "At the end of the day, Jason killed it. That was one of those things I was really stoked [about], as much as I went into it like, 'Wow, he's not an actor. This is going to be interesting,' but I really do like a challenge, and I really do like the idea that I'm a director and my job is to direct and get the performance. For me, it was a fun challenge to be like, 'I'm gonna make sure that you are awesome,' and he was."

Piliero also worked with Spears on her video for "I Wanna Go," and he was once again dazzled by her sassy acting skills. "Of course, Britney was rad," he said. "She does a good job at nailing and doing the little acting thing. She's cool at it."

Lindsay Lohan's Probation Revoked

Actress could serve 18 months in jail for failing to perform her court-ordered community service.

Lindsay Lohan may be headed back to jail following a "blistering" hearing Wednesday (October 19) in a Los Angeles courthouse where a judge revoked the troubled actress' probation and had her led out of the proceedings in handcuffs.

According to TMZ, Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled that Lohan had violated the conditions of her probation — stemming from a 2011 arrest on theft charges — and set a hearing for November 2, at which time Lohan could receive a sentence of up to a year and a half in jail. Lohan, dressed in a flowing white Fendi dress with matching scarf tied around her neck, was placed in handcuffs and exited the courtroom, where she was processed by the L.A. County Sheriff's Office. TMZ reports that she has already been bailed out.

According to the conditions of her probation, Lohan was placed on house arrest and ordered to perform 480 hours of community service, which included working at a Los Angeles Women's Center and the Los Angeles County morgue. She was also told to undergo psychological counseling and participate in a shoplifters alternative course.

But according to Judge Sautner, Lohan failed to show up at the Women's Center on at least nine different occasions, and she added that she doubted the actress was attending counseling once a week, as the court had ordered. Before she was taken away in handcuffs, Judge Sautner told Lohan that she must complete 16 hours of service at the morgue before appearing in court again November 2.

Sautner said Lohan's eviction from the Women's Center for not showing up violated the terms of probation and she explained to the sometime actress' lawyer, Shawn Holley, that the time spent at the Red Cross did not count toward her community service obligation. "No one has the power to change my sentence," Sautner said. "Not the volunteer center and not probation. She is not getting credit for any time at the American Red Cross." According to reports, Holley was unable to provide the judge with a count of how many hours Lohan had completed at the Women's Center. "The way I look at it, Ms. Lohan has created an impossibility to perform the sentence that was given to her by her own actions," Sautner told Lohan. "I certainly find that cause to revoke her probation."

And though she said Lohan could receive 18 months in jail, Sautner added that new laws and overcrowding would make such a lengthy sentence unlikely.

When Irv Gotti appeared on "RapFix Live" on October 5, he joked that he has no filter. And when the subject of his former Murder Inc. artist Lloyd came up, Gotti didn't hold back, saying he had "no love" for the R&B singer.

Lloyd, however, took the high road when asked about his old boss. "I haven't been in that situation for years now," said Lloyd, who has since moved to Interscope Records. "I think that what don't break us, makes us, and people throw stones a lot, but I don't live in a glass house. I don't really feel affected by the comments that were made towards me."

The Atlanta vocalist, who recently dropped his fourth LP, King of Hearts, is now working with producer Polow da Don on his Zone 4 label and his happy about his musical progress, even if he isn't enjoying the same sales success, as Irv pointed out.

"It wasn't a problem; me leaving was creative," he said about his departure from the Inc. "It was a conflict of creative interest. It was me wanting to make music; it wasn't me wanting to do anything more or less."

It doesn't seem that Lloyd's former labelmates Ashanti and Ja Rule share Irv's sentiment. Back in April, both performed alongside the "You" singer when he opened for Diddy in New York. "It kinda deaded a lot of unnecessary rumors about my feelings towards people and my relationship with people," Lloyd told MTV News of that show in particular. "I'm really happy about that concert."

Rihanna Experiences Love, Loss In 'We Found Love' Video

Despite song's sunny vibe, clip is a dark look at love and substance abuse.
By Jocelyn Vena

Remember how that Irish farmer got mad at Rihanna for what he deemed her "inappropriate state of undress" on the set of the "We Found Love" video? Well, on Wednesday (October 19), fans got to see what all the fuss was about when the singer officially released the clip.

Directed by Melina Matsoukas ("Hard," "S&M," "Rude Boy" and "Rockstar 101"), the video features British model/boxer Dudley O'Shaughnessy as Rihanna's green-eyed love interest. The smoldering couple make their way through Belfast, Ireland, experiencing the ups and downs of love.

Despite the song's feel-good, sunny vibe, the video is a dark look at love and substance abuse. The mini-movie opens with a voice that sounds somewhat like Rihanna doing a cockney accent saying, "I saw you screaming and no one can hear. You almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. Then when it's over, and it's gone, you almost wish you could have all that bad stuff back, so that you could have the good."

The speech certainly foreshadows the events of the video. Perhaps inspired by films like "Trainspotting" and "Requiem for a Dream," Rihanna and Dudley play gutter punks who are not only addicted to each other, but also drugs and partying. The video is a montage of their love affair: a dizzying mix of sweet, tender moments, sexier, naked moments and moments where both Ri and Dudley are too messed up to care much about anything but the feeling of being high, often leading to fighting.

They skate, they kiss, he watches as Rihanna frolics topless in a field, they party. All the good is bookended by fights (one notably in a car) and drug-fueled benders. And, in the end, all of it becomes too much for the couple and the frustrations and pressures of their love affair begin to become more about the rush than the actual love. In the end, they can't handle each other, and Rihanna walks out, leaving Dudley passed out on the ground barely able to do anything to win her back.

Buzzworthy Finds References Aplenty In 'We Found Love' >>>

The track, produced by Calvin Harris, is the lead single from her highly anticipated November 21 release, Talk That Talk, the follow-up to 2010's Loud.

The video is vaguely reminiscent of Rihanna's own recollections about her past abusive relationships. In a 2009 interview with MTV News, Rihanna opened up about her choice to always be honest with her fans.

"One of the big things for me, I always want to help young women and give them insight into life experiences," she explained. "One of those things is going through an abusive relationship like I did. But that's one thing for me. So I don't want to be the big domestic-violence spokesperson, because that doesn't define who I am. But if I can help young women in any way, and that being one of the things they need help with, then I'll do that."

'Hunger Games' Star Jennifer Lawrence A 'Powerful Person'

'Like Crazy' co-star Anton Yelchin saw Lawrence 'transform' into Katniss Everdeen at the gym.

We'd heard "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence talk about the intensity of her workouts to prepare for the role of the arrow-slinging reluctant warrior Katniss Everdeen. And we'd heard director Gary Ross brag on his star's behalf, using phrases like "intensely physical," "physically demanding" and "very rigorous" to describe Lawrence's training program.

But the Oscar-nominated actress' physical transformation into the District 12 tribute didn't really hit home until we checked out the "Hunger Games" teaser footage we debuted in August at the MTV Video Music Awards. We just didn't know what to expect. Her "Like Crazy" co-star Anton Yelchin, however, knew exactly what was coming. Months after their romantic drama premiered at Sundance (and walked away with the Grand Jury Prize), the duo ended up at the same gym, prepping for the next steps in their cinematic careers.

"I was training for a film called 'Odd Thomas' that I was doing at the same gym Jen was training [at for] the bow stuff and all the running," Yelchin told MTV News recently. "I got to see her and talk to her. I think she's amazing, and she's a good friend of mine."

And after checking out the "Hunger Games" teaser, Yelchin had firsthand knowledge of what it took for Lawrence to become Katniss. He was impressed, but not surprised.

"When I saw Jen, it was different kinds of physical training she was going through, like running training," he said. "She's such a powerful person. She can do anything she puts her mind to. If she needs to transform for something, she'll transform. If she needs to learn how to kill you with the bow, she'll do that. She'll do anything she needs to do."

Coldplay's 'Paradise' Video: Chris Martin Rides Unicycles

Posted: 18 Oct 2011 11:24 PM PDT

Martin takes a unicycle trek through South Africa — dressed as an elephant — in giddy new clip.
By James Montgomery

Coldplay
Photo: Capitol

You can add another line to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's rather lengthy list of accomplishments: The man can ride a unicycle.

This is the takeaway from Coldplay's brand-new video for "Paradise" — a standout track on their upcoming Mylo Xyloto album — which premiered Wednesday (October 19) on the band's site and features Martin, dressed in a plushy elephant costume, embarking on a unicycle trip in South Africa.

Among other things, of course. The clip opens with sun-drenched shots of the South African plains, wildebeest silhouetted against the setting sun. We then cut to Martin (as an elephant) jailed against his will in a London zoo but planning an escape. When he finally busts out, he hops on the Tube, makes a beeline for Heathrow Airport and sneaks aboard a plane bound for Johannesburg, his home. After procuring a unicycle (some interpretive dance is involved), he rides through the countryside — at one point removing his elephant head to prove that, yes, it's him aboard the unicycle — until he discovers his bandmates, who, of course, are also dressed as elephants.

We then cut to some actual performance footage from the band's South African concerts, where they bop and leap (while still wearing those elephant heads), much to the thrill of the audience. The video ends with a gleeful, slo-mo shot of the band sprinting across the plains, in full elephant regalia.

And yes, it's plenty silly. But such is the appeal of Coldplay, certainly one of the biggest bands on the planet and, yet, one unafraid to have a little fun from time to time. And, in a way, it plays perfectly into the "Paradise" lyrics, which are very much about a girl dreaming of escaping her dire situation and disappearing to her own personal heaven. Not to mention the fact that, much like the song's blissed-out chorus, there is genuine joy in watching the band leaping about in plushy suits while the South African sun beats down upon them.

Leave it to Coldplay to make a rather profound point — that we are all caged in some way, and we all long for escape — while still having a laugh too. And leave it to Chris Martin to prove that, even though he's married to a movie star, has two children, does humanitarian work and fronts one of planet Earth's hugest rock acts, he still found time to learn how to ride a unicycle. The man is truly capable of anything, it would seem.

In a recent interview with GQ Australia, the subject of Taylor Lautner's sexuality came up and, despite his publicist telling him not to answer personal questions, the "Twilight" star set the record very much straight.

The writer asked Lautner if his recent dinner companions — director Gus Van Sant and "Milk" writer Dustin Lance Black, both gay — had hit on him during the meal. "It's not a coincidence that there was a writer, a director and an actor at dinner," he explained, as reported by E! News. "No, definitely not. I think they know I'm straight. But they're great guys. They're a lot of fun."

Days after the interview made its way online; Black took to his blog to weigh in on the magazine's line of questioning. "Really Mr. GQ writer? I'm curious, will you be asking all of the handsome actors I've ever had the privilege of working with or meeting if I made passes at them as well?" he wrote. "I'd love to be there when you ask Sean Penn that same question. Or, Mr. GQ writer, were you projecting your own unprofessional desires onto me and Gus? Perhaps? Or worse still, are you a homophobe?

"Above and beyond this clear attack on my character, I'm shocked that GQ would allow their writer to lean on the scurrilous, outdated stereotype that gay men are by nature sexual predators," he continued. "I mean, would you have asked this same question if it were Diablo Cody and Kathryn Bigelow at dinner with Mr. Lautner? Leaning on lies, myths and stereotypes about gay people is hateful, harmful and outdated."

It seemed the backlash from Black, as well as Internet commenters, was enough for the magazine to issue an apology on its Facebook page.

"We've seen some of the comments floating around regarding our recent interview with Taylor Lautner and apologise if anyone was offended by anything in the article. It certainly wasn't our intention to paint anyone in the story as a sexual predator," the statement reads. "The point we were actually trying to push was that Taylor is irresistible to virtually everyone — regardless of sexuality or gender. Hence the film crew cheering at his shirtless scenes while shooting 'Twilight,' and Mark Wahlberg deeming him better looking than Leonardo DiCaprio."

The statement argues that they initially wanted to include Lautner as their cover boy because he defines the GQ man and meant no harm. "Taylor is an extraordinary young gentleman, and we can't wait to see him achieve even greater success in the future. That's why he's on our cover — because GQ Australia prides itself on offering readers the best possible advice and insights that help you be modern, successful gentlemen," it reads. "Whether you're into fashion, food, fitness, pop culture, politics, travel, technology or cars, GQ Australia strives to provide you with top-quality editorial content that allows you to make your own discerning choices."

Justin Timberlake's Next Project: Remaking MySpace

'I don't have anything on my plate other than think-tanking a lot of different ideas for MySpace,' he tells MTV News.

Justin Timberlake has become such a hardworking, multifaceted entertainment personality that it's become difficult to keep track of all his projects. There's the music career, which has seemingly been put on hold for the time being; the burgeoning film career, which has taken up most of JT's time of late; then there are his entrepreneurial efforts, particularly his newly acquired stake in MySpace.

When MTV News recently caught up with the very busy jack-of-all-trades as he promoted his new film, "In Time," we asked him to do a bit of career forecasting for us and reveal what he's working on next. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that first, he's going to be hard at work on revamping MySpace and second, he might be planning an actual vacation.

"I don't have anything on my plate other than think-tanking a lot of different ideas for MySpace, which doesn't require a lot of my literally being present," Timberlake said. "I can come up with ideas on the golf course. I can come up with ideas on a mountain while I'm snowboarding. Seriously, I don't have anything on my plate for the rest of the year. I am going to take a vacation. I'm going to find out what a vacation really is."

And in addition to all the exotic-locale-based think-tanking and vacationing, might Timberlake have any free time to pay a visit to his favorite NYC-based variety show, "Saturday Night Live"?

"I don't know," he said. "Those things are spur-of-the-moment. I don't have plans to host, but those things are spur-of-the-moment for sure. Even if I had plans, I wouldn't tell you," he added with a smile.

What do you hope Justin does with MySpace? Let us know in the comments!

Kristen Stewart Hurt On 'Snow White' Set?

Kristen Stewart was reportedly hurt on the set of "Snow White and the Huntsman," halting production until Friday. While details about her injury remain a mystery as of press time, her co-star Max Manganello, who plays one of the duke's soldiers in the film, announced it on Twitter.

The tweet has since been taken down, but according to E! News, Manganello had this to say about the injury on Tuesday: "It's a wrap for today. Kristen has hurt herself ... nothing scary. We shoot on Friday."

A rep for the movie studio had not responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time and little else is known about Stewart's condition.

Stewart has been busy shooting the film abroad. In late September, she was spotted in Pembrokeshire, Wales, filming a battle scene, and days later she was photographed drenched and wearing a gown on the back of a white horse.

The film is expected to open on June 1, 2012 and also features Charlize Theron (the Evil Queen), Chris Hemsworth (the Huntsman) and Sam Claflin (Prince Charming). The story centers on the struggle between Snow White and the Evil Queen, who, jealous of Snow White's beauty, wants to destroy her. The catch is that Snow White has been training with the Huntsman, who has also been ordered to kill her. And in true fairy-tale form, Prince Charming is enamored with Snow White.

"It's not a little girl sitting by a well with little tweety birds telling her what to do and where to go," Stewart told MTV News of her character. "[The costume] makes you feel kind of strong occasionally, sometimes, but I kind of feel tiny, my pinhead sticks out of these enormous things."

Evanescence 'Thrilled' By #1 Billboard Debut

'We made an album we're really proud of and now we get to watch it fly,' Amy Lee tells MTV News.

On Wednesday (October 19), Evanescence officially completed their comeback when it was announced that their self-titled third album would top next week's Billboard albums chart, with sales of more than 127,000 copies.

It's the band's second-consecutive #1 debut: As any Ev fan surely knows, their last was five years ago, when The Open Door bowed atop the charts in 2006.

And in the time since, they've shed members, gone on a hiatus and, as frontwoman Amy Lee told MTV News, very nearly called it quits entirely.

So you can certainly understand why Lee and her bandmates are feeling so happy today. In an e-mail to MTV News, the singer decided to share a bit of that happiness with us and with Evanescence's fanbase.

"What can I say, we're thrilled about it!" she wrote. "We made an album that we're really proud of and now we get to watch it fly. We weren't expecting this and we're just so grateful to our fans."

It's certainly been a long road back. After coming back together, Evanescence holed up with producer Nick Raskulinecz in Nashville and unveiled the fruits of that labor to MTV News in July. They then premiered the first single, "What You Want," live on MTV in August and played a raucous release-day show in Los Angeles last week.

They'll play a run of U.S. and U.K. shows until early November, and, armed with a #1 album, they're planning a full-blown Stateside tour in early January.

'Sherlock Holmes 2' Trailer Reveals Rachel McAdams, Moriarty

'A Game of Shadows' appears to pick up where the action-packed, bromantic original began.

As far as sensational, buzzworthy trailers go, Robert Downey Jr. is on a roll. He's been a prominent fixture in two of the most talked-about teasers from two of the most anticipated films.

The first trailer is for "The Avengers," which Marvel and Disney rolled out last week, and the second is for Guy Ritchie's bromantic "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," which hit the Interwebs on Wednesday (October 19).

This second trailer is all about upping the action and mystery. It opens with the voice of new leading lady Sim, played by Noomi Rapace. "What do you see?" she asks Dr. Holmes (Downey Jr.), to which he replies "Everything," as we are then shown quick cuts of what are likely pieces of the second film's big mystery. There are dancing couples in a glamorous ballroom (including Sim and Holmes) at some grand party, a game of chess, a possible crime scene with a pile of wreckage in the center, bullet holes in the walls, cocked pistols and — gasp! A shot of Rachel McAdams' shifty lady thief Irene Adler walking somewhere with haste and some sort of precious parcel. The last shot in the opening montage is a glimpse at Jared Harris as evil-ish Moriarty looking out from behind super-secret spy glasses (not really, he's just holding a lorgnette — those fancy glasses people use at the opera).

"That is my curse," Holmes says, a bookend to our introductory 20 seconds or so, before Ritchie kicks the action into high gear and packs the remaining two minutes and seven seconds with explosions, running, shooting, etc. — basically, Holmes and Watson (Jude Law) are up to their old tricks.

"Oh, how I've missed you, Holmes," Watson says to his friend.

"Have you? I've barely noticed your absence," Holmes answers back in a passive-aggressive tone, pretending not to have missed his best friend.

This brief exchange is followed by more quick cuts of exotic locations and Watson's wedding and an introduction to bad guy Moriarty.

"What are we up against here?" Watson asks Holmes.

"The most formidable criminal mind in Europe," Holmes says.

"Professor James Moriarty," Watson says, reading his name from Holmes' notes somewhere.

"If we can stop him, we can prevent the collapse of Western civilization," Holmes adds dramatically, before an explosion erupts in the background. "No pressure."

This is followed by more running, bullets flying, a slow-motion cat-and-mouse chase in the snow, banter with lady Sim, as well as a few Holmes and Watson moments, including one in which the former suddenly appears dressed in drag.

"What?" Watson says when he encounters Holmes as a lady.

"I agree it's not my best disguise," Holmes counters.

Finally there are more quick cuts of action, much of which looks to be set on a moving train that later explodes, along with a brief but passionate kiss between former lovers Holmes and Adler.

It's not often that you see people standing for hours in a line that wraps around the block just for the chance to get scared out of their minds, but that's exactly what happened Tuesday night in New York at an advance fan screening of "Paranormal Activity 3."

Fans tweeted for a chance to check out the third entry in the found-footage horror series and to learn how the haunting started. Some of the hopeful audience members showed up as early as the morning before the 10 p.m. screening.

Once inside the theater, the lucky crowd competed for prizes like iPods, only heightening the excitement in the room. When it was finally time to screen the movie, directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost showed up, appropriately decked out for Halloween with fake knives and syringes lodged in each of their heads.

Schulman warned people that they weren't ready for the scares in "Paranormal Activity 3," promising that nobody in the theater was going to sleep that night. Among chants of "P-A-3," the lights dimmed and the screams started, and they didn't stop for 84 minutes.

As soon as the screening ended, the fan reaction was clear. "I thought 'Paranormal Activity' was tuck-your-feet-under-the-blanket horrifying," said Jeffrey Caban, who claimed his heart was still racing. Nelson Rosa said he understood "the saying 'my heart skipped a beat' [for the] first time ever."

"It was intense. It had me screaming, jumping up and down, covering my eyes, everything," Maria Huighes said.
