'Breaking Dawn' Last Day 'Wasn't Super Dramatic'

"Breaking Dawn" has wrapped, the trailer has officially debuted at the MTV Movie Awards, and the stars of "The Twilight Saga" are nearing the end of their years-long franchise.

MTV News caught up with Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli outside the Gibson Amphitheatre after "Eclipse" won the Golden Popcorn for Best Movie. The Cullen trio chatted about the last day of shooting, saying it wasn't as emotional as fans might have expected.

"It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished, to be honest," Reed said. "We know we're going to see each other, so it wasn't super dramatic."

Facinelli agreed, adding, "We have two more movies coming out, so it wasn't so much of a goodbye as it was a 'see ya later.' "

According to the three "Twilight" stars, there was no big commotion made on their last day of filming "Breaking Dawn." In fact, none of the stars even made a speech.

"We should have a speech right now!" Facinelli suggested. "Kellan?"

Lutz turned to his co-stars and deadpanned, "I worked the very last day, and I hate you mother----ers. That's my speech."

Though the stars of "The Twilight Saga" still have another year and a half until the second part of "Breaking Dawn" hits theaters, and then will have to make press rounds to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release, they still are willing to look into the future to what they will be doing for other projects. Or they're willing to joke about it, at least.

"Broadway musical, let's do it," Facinelli said with a laugh. " 'Carlisle on Ice.' I can't wait."

"I'll buy a ticket," Lutz offered.

Nicki Minaj was pulling double duty at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. In addition to providing some eye candy for co-presenter Ashton Kutcher to stare at, the Young Money queen spoke to MTV News backstage about her upcoming tour with fellow pop diva Britney Spears.

With Spears' Femme Fatale Tour slated to kick off June 16 in Sacramento, California, Minaj said the pair are getting ready to put their heads together during rehearsals.

"We probably won't start talking about what we're planning for another couple days," Minaj said. "I've been just rehearsing, and she's been rehearsing, and we'll be getting together in a couple days."

With more than a month off since finishing her stint on Lil Wayne's I Am Still Music Tour, Minaj said she's been working on her stagecraft and trying to find a way to interject more drama into her performance to keep up with what will surely be an eye-popping spectacle from Spears.

"I'm just trying to put more theater on that stage. So much to me is music, but it's also about putting on a show, so that's my goal: to truly put on a show and incorporate theater and dance," Minaj said.

"I think it's pretty easy to take it to the next level ... I think I'm nowhere close to where I could be as far as my shows have been. So I think it's going to be pretty easy, actually."

The ladies'-night tour will also feature sets from Nervo and Jessie and the Toy Boys.

Lil Wayne Covers Tupac's 'Perfect Verse' On 'Unplugged'

'It's just something about 'Pac and I,' Weezy tells MTV News about performing 'Hail Mary' on June 12 special.

It's clear with his "Best Rapper Alive" proclamations that Lil Wayne wants to be remembered among the greats. And with an extensive and well-regarded catalog, he may already be there. Still, during Wayne's MTV "Unplugged" special, set to air Sunday, June 12, the Young Money CEO pays homage to another rap legend: Tupac Shakur.

"I knew because this is my 'Unplugged,' I said, 'I want to do some kind of tribute to one of those great artists,' " Wayne explained to us of why he chose to perform the fallen MC's 1996 single "Hail Mary." "It's just something about 'Pac and I," he said after the show's taping last month.

"I picked that second verse, 'Penitentiaries is packed with promise makers,' and I was like, 'That whole verse is just perfect — they never realized the precious time that they wasting.' "

"Hail Mary" appeared on Tupac's The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, which he recorded under the alias Makaveli. Although 'Pac finished the album before he was fatally gunned down on September 7, 1996, the LP wasn't released until after he died. The track has been covered by quite a few rap artists, including Eminem, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes, who remade the classic together in 2003 with a dis aimed at then-rival Ja Rule. The iconic song has never been covered by Weezy, though, until now.

Last November, DJ Khaled appeared on "RapFix Live" and drew comparisons between Wayne and 'Pac, noting Weezy's eight-month incarceration for attempted gun possession, his work ethic and overall likability.

"Ain't nobody have that impact since Tupac. Lil Wayne is a genius and he's a great person. He's always showed love to everybody. You can't say anything bad about Wayne," Khaled told host Sway. "So when he was on vacation, it didn't feel like he was gone. He dropped the album and it went #1. He was in every video. It was just as big. Now he's home. When he was on vacation, he was that powerful. Imagine what he's about to do."

Don't miss "MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged," premiering Sunday, June 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2, MTV and MTV.com.

'Breaking Dawn' Trailer: Best Fan Squeals And Sighs

Twilighters recorded their reactions to the teaser, and we picked our faves.

At the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner presented the first look at the trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1." Knowing what a fan frenzy the first teaser would create, we asked our dedicated viewers and readers to record and upload their squeal-tastic "Breaking Dawn" reactions to Your.MTV.com, and promised that the top videos would air on MTV's "The Seven" on Monday (June 6).

Naturally, you did not disappoint. The winning video is, as expected, chock-full of all the things we've come to know and love from the most die-hard "Twilight" fans: girlish squeals and gasps of delight, jumping up and down, sighs and swoons all over the place. It is filled with such genuine adoration and emotion, it's almost impossible not to be charmed by the two adorable young ladies from Denmark, who posted their video with the user name AgneteFlygerHansen.

(CHECK OUT PHOTOS OF THE "TWILIGHT" CAST'S BIG MOVIE AWARDS NIGHT.)

In addition to the delighted Danes, Sophia from Hawaii sent in her less vocal but equally intense reaction, followed by Jessika from Tennessee, who tried to control her excited screams by reacting silently. She puts her hands in front of her face, jumps up and down a bit, giddily, but keeps herself from going from silent, shaky glee to full-on screaming. Finally, there is RPad in Michigan, who also practices some of the quiet restraint Jessika did, but in doing so, comes closer to shedding more tears of joy than her fellow submitters.

The reactions don't stop there. We also solicited expert opinions from a few of the most devoted and trusted fan sites.

"I am blown away. I can't believe they showed as much as they did," Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com gushed. "I'm so excited. I didn't think they would hit as many points as they did. I am very pleased with Bill Condon and how he treated it."

"Completely amazing, completely mind-blowing. Up until this, my favorite trailer was the 'New Moon' trailer, and Bill Condon definitely got Chris Weitz; it's got everything in it that you need," said Laura Byrne-Cristiano of TwilightLexicon.com.

"That's pretty steamy for a PG-13 movie," she added. "The thing that made me laugh in a good way right away was Rob Pattinson gripping that headboard, and hearing that crack noise is spectacular."

"The trailer was fantastic," Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com weighed in. "It had way more than I thought it would, but it still just wasn't quite enough. ... I was so excited that they had Bella pregnant. The fans are excited about that and we got to see it. I am thrilled; can't wait to see the next."

MTV Movie Awards: Top Five Moments You Didn't See!

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner greet each other with a 'Twilight' chest bump, a Foo Fighter invites a 'Harry Potter' villain out to drinks, and more.
By Kara Warner

Given that we are MTV News, and the Movie Awards is one of our biggest events of the year, our intrepid team of writers, reporters and producers enjoy what is, hands down, the best behind-the-scenes access to any and everything that happens before, after and during the live broadcast. With that, we narrowed down a pretty impressive list of can't-believe-it-happened-off-camera moments for you.

(Not all moments happen off-camera, though. Be sure to get an eyeful of our backstage moments photo gallery.)

In no particular order, here are the top five "events" witnessed backstage at the 2011 Movie Awards:

Dave Grohl Hijacks Our Best Villain Interview
Minutes after accepting his second Movie Award for Best Villain, MTV News was chatting up "Harry Potter" star Tom Felton about the win, where he'll keep his award, and so forth. Foo Fighters frontman Grohl suddenly jumped into the frame and asked what we were talking about. He went on to congratulate Felton on his win with a friendly hug. Grohl ended the brief encounter by extending an invite to a visibly star-struck Felton to join him for some post-show Absinthe.

Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart Chest-Bump
We love it when the stars of our favorite films seem to be genuinely good friends both on and offscreen — especially when those real-life pals are two of our favorite "Twilight" actors, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. In between accepting and presenting awards, we watched Stewart and Lautner greet each other backstage with an actual chest bump, which they followed up with a friendly hug.

Emma Watson Gets McDreamy'd
In spite of the fact that stylish Emma Watson always looks so composed, not even the "Harry Potter" star could resist the dashing good looks of "Grey's Anatomy" hottie Patrick Dempsey, a.k.a. McDreamy. We witnessed Watson and the "Transformers: Rise of the Fallen" actor passing each other with a smile and a nod. But once Dempsey was out of earshot, Watson turned to her rep, put her hand over her heart and sighed at his dreaminess.

"Chocolate Wasted" With Alexys Nycole Sanchez
For its sheer adorableness, this moment might be the lead contender for the best thing we witnessed backstage. Moments after "Grown Ups" starlet Alexys Nycole Sanchez nabbed her first Golden Popcorn trophy for her "I want to get chocolate wasted!" line, our MTV News team caught up with the pre-tween to get her reaction. Really, she was too cute for words. And You can see the delight in our faces in the photo posted on our Movies Blog as we had to kneel to speak with Sanchez.

OMG, Celebs Are Totally BFF
Not all of the celebs in Hollywood are BFF à la Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, but because the rich and famous run in similar social circles, many are quite friendly with other. Often these celebrity friendships have sprung up unexpectedly. Case in point, all the palling around we saw backstage. First, Ryan Gosling and Tyrese hugging hello; Kristen Stewart and Lily Collins chatting about KStew's dog; and pretty, leggy blondes Blake Lively and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley giggling like schoolgirls during a marathon catch-up session.

'Harry Potter' Fans Ready For 'Twilight' Battle Next Year

Posted: 06 Jun 2011 03:02 AM PDT

' 'Twilight' has this incredibly hard-core fanbase that apparently cannot be beat,' says one Potter expert.
By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Wigler

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2"

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" swept the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, and "Harry Potter" fans are not too pleased about it.

On Monday (June 6), MTV News caught up with some of the head honchos at leading "Harry Potter" fan sites so they could weigh in on the "Potter" versus "Twilight" Movie Awards rivalry. Some shared their theories about why "Twilight" seems to beat out the Boy Who Lived every time they're in the same category.

"It is a shame because 'Potter' definitely deserves it, but 'Twilight' has this incredibly hard-core fanbase that apparently cannot be beat," said Andrew Sims of MuggleNet. "I just hope that next year at the next Movie Awards 'Potter' fans actually learn their lesson and get voting."

Although "Potter" fans couldn't overcome Twilighter fervor, #teampotter did jump to the number two trending topic worldwide on Twitter during the Movie Awards pre-show. Julia Hodges of DanRadcliffe.com and RupertGrint.net was disappointed "Harry Potter" didn't come away any of the night's awards — other than Best Villain for Tom Felton — that she believed the series truly deserved.

"The 'Potter' films [are] not only amazing for the people who love 'Harry Potter,' they're amazing films," Hodges said. "They've been nominated for so many Oscars and they've actually won a few, and they were just recognized at the most recent BAFTA awards for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema, so the quality of the 'Potter' films alone is incredible."

But Rosi Halse of the Leaky Cauldron wouldn't let the fact that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1" didn't collect a bunch of Golden Popcorn statues dampen her love of the series. "The 'Harry Potter' fanbase is so huge, and we know we love the films and we love the stories and we love the actors," she said. "I think you can't help but be proud whether or not they did miss out on the awards."

Next year's Movie Awards will be the last time a film in the "Harry Potter" franchise will be eligible to compete at the awards show, and the fan sites are already planning to rally Potter-heads to come out in full force and actually bring home some Golden Popcorn.

After seeing an exclusive scene from the "Deathly Hallows, Part 2" during the Movie Awards, Halse said she's convinced that 2012 could be the year of "Potter." "If that is just a preview of what's to come, I think it will definitely walk away with a few awards next year," she said.

'Twilight' Stars Feared 'Harry Potter,' 'Inception' At Movie Awards

Another Movie Awards, another super-dominating victory by Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and company for "The Twilight Saga." "Eclipse," the third installment of the blockbuster franchise, took home five Golden Popcorn trophies at Sunday's show.

MTV News caught up with a few members of the wolf pack, as well as Jasper Hale, after their final big win for Best Movie, and they expressed genuine surprise and lots of gratitude about how many awards the third "Twilight" film had racked up.

"I think 'Harry Potter' was definitely a contender tonight," Tinsel Korey said of perhaps their biggest competition in the Best Movie category. "I think some of us were a little bit nervous, but we have great fans and they're dedicated."

"I thought 'Inception' would have taken it," Kiowa Gordon admitted.

"Same here," Booboo Stewart agreed. 'I thought 'Inception' was going to win, [especially] Best Fight and all that."

"It's a crazy popularity contest thing," Alex Meraz added. "But I'm very happy we're on the winning side of it. The fans have been fantastic throughout all of this; it's been a good ride."

Meraz went on to say that if their winning streak continues into next year, MTV might have to build a bigger stage to hold all of the castmembers. "Next year it's going to be crazier because there's a lot more cast, so if 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1' is the best film next year, you're going to be seeing 60 people up on that stage."

"It's always a pleasure and an honor to show up to the MTV Movie Awards, to have the fans vote and say what their favorites are," Jackson Rathbone, who plays vampire Jasper Hale, pointed out. "We were up against some hard-hitters today but hey, we came out on top. It was very exciting, a great show," he said, before giving a few props to the evening's musical acts. "The Foo Fighters killed it; I had a great time," Rathbone said. "Lupe Fiasco rocked."

Emma Watson 'Couldn't Compete' With Pattinson/Lautner Kiss

'Harry Potter' star tells MTV News that all the Movie Awards smooching had her feeling left out.

Aside from the much-anticipated premiere of a new "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" clip during Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, it was a pretty quiet night for Team Potter, who sat and watched as "Twilight" reaped (nearly) all the awards, besting "Deathly Hollows, Part 1" for Best Movie, Best Male and Female Performance, Best Fight Scene and Best Kiss.

In fact, "Potter" took home just one bucket of Golden Popcorn — Tom Felton's turn as Draco Malfoy earned him Best Villain honors — and as if that weren't bad enough, it was the stars of "Twilight" who garnered the lion's share of the headlines too, as everything from Robert Pattinson's lip-lock with co-star Taylor Lautner to the squeeing reactions to the "Breaking Dawn, Part 1" trailer burned up search engines in the hours following the show.

So you could imagine what it must have been like for the "Harry Potter" stars who were actually on hand for the Movie Awards -- like, for example, Emma Watson, who not only lost Best Female Performance to Kristen Stewart, but didn't even get to see the kiss between Pattinson and Lautner.

"I missed this moment! I came out, and they were like, 'Rob just missed Taylor!' and I was like, 'Damn!' " Watson told MTV News' Josh Horowitz following the show. "I was still backstage [after introducing the 'Deathly Hallows, Part 2'] clip, so I missed it. But, I mean, yeah, good on them!"

And as if missing out on the kiss-to-end-all-kisses wasn't bad enough, the whole lip-locking theme of the night had Watson feeling left out. Seems she was the only person who didn't have someone to kiss.

"I mean, I was really up against it. Kristen [Stewart] had two kisses, and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman making out," she laughed. "I mean, I couldn't really compete!"

When Vado emerged on Hot 97's Summer Jam stage Sunday performing his Cam'ron-assisted single "Speaking in Tungs," it was clear that the Tri-State area had love. But with a major-label deal with Interscope Records firmly in place, Cam is hoping his protégé gets more than just hometown support.

"It was great, but we still have a lot more work to do," the Dipset CEO said backstage at Summer Jam. "I appreciate everybody showing him love, and he's hot, but he hasn't even put an album out yet. I want to do three, four, five albums and come back and talk."

Since making a name for himself on Cam's 2009 Boss of All Bosses mixtape and its 2010 follow-up, Boss of All Bosses 2, Vado has become a fan favorite thanks to last year's "Speaking in Tungs" — the stand-out single off the Harlem rap rookie's retail mixtape, Slime Flu. Still, Cam insists that his vision for Vado is much bigger.

"I think it's still early. I'm happy he got his deal, I'm happy everybody's aware of him, I'm happy he's turned into a superstar, but I want to make him into a mega, mega superstar," he said.

Next up is Killa and Vado's Boss of All Bosses 3, the third installment in the duo's famed mixtape series. While the first two BOAB recordings were available for free online, Cam is planning a retail release for the latest mixtape, which will drop on Fontana, Universal Music's independent arm and be out this summer, according to Cam.

"The Boss of All Bosses 3 that me and Vado did is done," he revealed. "It's coming out in stores through Fontana, so we're just trying to get the date locked in, but it's done."

Will Vado become a "mega superstar"? Sound off below!

Shia LaBeouf And 'Transformers' Director Michael Bay Are 'Like Brothers'

With "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" set to hit theaters at the end of the month, and a new face in Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ready to battle the alien bots, it seemed the sometimes turbulent relationship between director Michael Bay and former star Megan Fox was a thing of the past. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, though, Shia LaBeouf seemingly added fuel to Fox and Bay's fiery relationship when he suggested Fox felt "awkward" working with Bay.

But when we caught up with LaBeouf at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, the 24-year-old actor said his comments had been misconstrued in the media and that he has nothing but affection for the director.

"I love Mike; we're like brothers," he said. "And we have our bickering in public sometimes, but I love Michael. And he's still the favorite director I've ever worked for, and I would work with him again, and I'd do anything for him.

"But no way was anything I was trying to say in malice or trying to attack Michael," he added.

That didn't stop news outlets and blogs from publishing screaming headlines about how Fox couldn't handle Bay's directorial style and how LaBeouf was coming to the defense of his ousted co-star. The truth, the actor told us, is that part of the creative potency in his partnership with Bay — an alliance that has driven the franchise to $1.5 billion in box-office receipts — is the way in which they can butt heads, take a breather and then move forward with the task at hand.

"We scream at each other all the time," he explained. "That's been sort of our relationship. There's a contention that needs to exist for us to get through the movie, and we push each other."

Kristen Stewart, Nicki Minaj 'Bonded' At Movie Awards

'She's cute,' rapper tells MTV News of 'Twilight' actress.
By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Eric Ditzian

Kristen Stewart and Nicki Minaj and the 2011 MTV Movie Awards

Everyone saw the way Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner bonded at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. But behind the scenes, their "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" co-star Kristen Stewart was doing some bonding of her very own -- albeit of a very different sort.

During one of the night's many wins for "Twilight," Stewart accepted the award for Best Female Performance from a bearded Ashton Kutcher and rapper Nicki Minaj. When MTV News caught up with Minaj backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre immediately after she handed over Stewart's Golden Popcorn, she filled us in on something about her and Kristen that viewers at home wouldn't have otherwise known.

"[Kristen] had shoes on that didn't hurt her feet. And she didn't care that they looked really kind of crusty," Minaj pointed out. "But I did too! I had my Uggs on backstage.

"So that made me bond with her," she added. "She's cute."

(Check out photos of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and other "Twilight" stars at this year's big show!)

A fast friendship with another female celebrity in an awards-show setting isn't unprecedented for Minaj. The Young Money rapper chatted with "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards earlier this year. In fact, Minaj declared herself "obsessed" with Snooki, and Snooki relayed the same sentiment right back.

Her outgoing elbow-rubbing isn't confined to fellow females, of course. "Ashton Kutcher is a lot of fun," she said of the newly minted "Two and a Half Men" star and her co-presenter. "We're cool."

The always-fashionable performer has gotten increasingly used to public speaking outside of her musical performances, as evidenced by her complete lack of pre-show jitters at Movie Awards.

"I wasn't nervous at all today — for one of the only times I can remember," she said. "This was fun!"

It seems that things are well under way for the basketball movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Justin Bieber. How do we know? Well, the guys themselves updated us this weekend at two of the biggest events of the summer.

Wahlberg told MTV News on Saturday night at Spike's Guys Choice Awards that while he thought he'd be playing Bieber's part initially, he eventually came around to playing the "old guy" role.

"Wait till you see me and Bieber in the flick. Think of like 'The Color of Money,' " he teased. "So I get this call from Paramount [where they tell me about the story about] an old guy and a young guy. I'm like, 'Cool, let's get Jack [Nicholson]. Let's get Robert De Niro. Let's get Robert Duvall.' And they go, 'What about Garrett Hedlund?'

"I'm like, 'For what?' " he further recalled. "They're like, 'For the young guy.' "

(Check out photos of Justin Bieber and tons of other stars backstage at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards!)

The next day, at the MTV Movie Awards, Justin Bieber seemed equally excited about the project, if not a bit tight-lipped. "I know ," he promised. "You'll have to see. I can't really reveal too much about it."

According to previous reports, Wahlberg has been keeping tabs on the young star. "He loves the idea," Wahlberg said last month. "He's been sending me video, he sent me a video of himself, and, yeah, I think he's really talented." The idea was sparked after Wahlberg and partner Stephen Levinson caught Bieber playing basketball in February during a celebrity game held during NBA All-Star Game weekend.

Mobb Deep's Prodigy may only be three months out of jail, but the Queens MC is wasting no time in the studio. After already releasing a free online mixtape (The Bump Elsworth EP), P and his partner Havoc are hard at work on Mobb Deep's eighth studio album. While few details about the LP are confirmed, the H.N.I.C. tells MTV News that they can most likely expect a Rick Ross collaboration, which is already recorded.

"We did a joint with Ross. It's in the stash right now. It'll probably be for the Mobb album. It's kinda crazy too," Prodigy said backstage at Hot 97's Summer Jam concert on Sunday. Ross talked about the collaboration and how it came about during his "RapFix Live" visit May 25. Despite Prodigy's affiliation to Ross' nemesis 50 Cent, who previously signed Mobb Deep to a G-Unit deal, the two artists were able to work out any perceived differences.

"I respect him, most definitely, as being a boss, making your own decisions," Ross told Sway. "When he was released, he gave me a call a few days after that. We spoke on the phone maybe once or twice. It was a genuine conversation, us touching base, making sure it is what it is. We most definitely put a record or two on the table. Just to be frank, I was always a fan of the homey, H.N.I.C. I always respected when I saw that. The B.G. collaboration he did with the South, that was big for me. So I was always a fan of the homey and when he made this move in a way, so you had to respect it. So look for a Rozay and Prodigy record in the future."

It still may be awhile before fans hear the record, however. "We're looking forward to maybe, like, September. End of August, September -- we're shooting for around that time," Prodigy said of Mobb Deep's upcoming release date. "We know they need that new music out there, something for the streets. We gotta feed the streets. It's a lot of different things happening in hip-hop. That's a good thing. You got different types of sounds, but you know we gotta keep what makes us going. We gotta keep our sound alive, that dark hip-hop. We're gonna keep that alive."

"American Idol" champ Scotty McCreery is wasting no time getting his career off the ground. A little more than a week after being crowned season 10 champ, McCreery has signed a major-label deal with Mercury Nashville/ 19 Recordings/ Interscope. He's also made a bit of history with his debut single, "I Love You This Big."

According to his new bosses, the embracing country ballad is the highest-charting debut for a new artist in more than two decades. "This Big" hit Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart at #32 last week, the best first-week showing since the magazine started using Nielsen's BDS-based data in January 1990. The song also hit #1 on iTunes and #3 on the Billboard Digital Songs chart.

"I am humbled and shocked by this news," McCreery said in a statement. "I can't tell you what it means to me to be on the same charts as my musical heroes. I want to thank my fans and especially country radio for their support. I continue to be amazed by everything that has happened to me in such a short time."

While a spokesperson confirmed 17-year-old McCreery is slated to hit Nashville this week to start work on his still-untitled debut, his pal and runner-up, Lauren Alaina, was not left out in the cold. The 16-year-old country/pop singer also scored a major-label deal with Mercury Nashville, and after hitting the CMA Music Fest in Nashville this week, she, too, will begin work on her major-label debut.

Before diving into recording and prepping for the "Idols Live!" summer tour, which kicks off on July 6, McCreery will get some big-deal screen time when he presents at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday. In addition, he'll make appearances at a number of CMA Music Festival activities this week, and on Friday, he'll have his Grand Ole Opry debut with a performance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" to follow on June 15.

Both singers recently told MTV News that they have no plans to stray from their country roots once they get behind the microphone, with Scotty promising he wouldn't turn into "Country Bieber."

"It's gonna be a good ol' country album," McCreery said. "I like to have that old flavor in my music, but with a contemporary feel, so we'll see where that leads me. I think it'll be a good little mix."

They sure looked the part of the happy couple on Sunday night at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, but what the world found out before "Twilight" took the night's top awards is that star Nikki Reed and "American Idol" finalist Paul McDonald have reportedly made it official.

After less than two months of dating, Reed was sporting a sparkling engagement ring on the red carpet, and a source reportedly confirmed that the pair are going to take the plunge. "He's the one. He's the one," Reed, 23, said of the bearded Nashville singer who came in eighth place on the show this year, according to E! Online.

When McDonald was eliminated from "Idol" in April, he admitted they were an item, calling Reed "super-cool" and saying that she'd been very supportive of his musical ambitions. Us Weekly reported two weeks ago that the pair had shacked up at Reed's Los Angeles home and that she has been trying to help him land a recording contract.

While Reed was hush-hush about her own impending nuptials on the red carpet at the Movie Awards, she did weigh in on the eagerly anticipated wedding in the upcoming "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

"It was beautiful," said co-star Jackson Rathbone.

"It was stunning; it was like a dream," added Reed, who admitted that she was napping in her trailer when paparazzi helicopters buzzed the set during the shoot to get a peek at the fictional wedding.

E! Online, which first broke the engagement story, quoted Reed as saying that McDonald has been writing a bunch of songs dedicated to her and that he's planning on releasing a "Nikki Reed EP."

Go bananas, "Twilight" fans. The trailer you have been waiting for has arrived! On Sunday night (June 5) at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, the trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" finally premiered. Before the promo's debut, it had been all about teaser photos and bits of information from interviews with cast members, but now we've gotten our first glimpse at footage from the Bill Condon-directed film, which will hit screens in November.

The trailer certainly has everything Twi-Hards have been waiting for: a wedding, a honeymoon, a baby bump, as well as, yes, a shirtless Taylor Lautner. After getting a sneak peek, a number of "Twilight" experts and bloggers contributors already have taken to the Web to share their opinions about the trailer.

"I am blown away. I can't believe they showed as much as they did," Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com said enthusiastically. "I'm so excited. I didn't think they would hit as many points as they did. I am very pleased with Bill Condon and how he treated it."

"Completely amazing, completely mind-blowing. Up until this my favorite trailer was the 'New Moon' trailer, and Bill Condon definitely got Chris Weitz; it's got everything in it that you need," gushed Laura Byrne-Cristiano, who owns TwilightLexicon.com.

(Check out photos of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and other "Twilight" stars at this year's big show!)

"Well, wow! That's pretty steamy for a PG-13 movie," she continued. "The thing that made me laugh in a good way right away was Rob Pattinson, gripping that headboard and hearing that crack noise is spectacular."

Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com said, "The trailer was fantastic. It had way more than I thought it would but it still just wasn't quite enough. ... I was so excited that they had Bella pregnant. The fans are excited about that and we got to see it. I am thrilled; can't wait to see the next."

Kid Cudi Talks Growth, New Single And Quitting Drugs

'I like myself better off drugs ... it's about becoming mature,' Cudi tells MTV News about recording after giving up marijuana.

Kid Cudi doesn't care what you think about his music — he likes it and that's that! Last week, Cudders dropped his new Dot Da Genius-produced single, "Perfect Is the Word," and it was quite different from what some fans were used to getting from the Cleveland representative.

"I'm very proud of it; it's something that a year ago I wouldn't have ever imagined that I'd be able to do. It's different, I get that," Cudi told MTV News while on the set of his HBO show, "How to Make It in America." "Some people are going to get it, some people aren't. That's cool. I just don't really give a f--- who does and who doesn't. I mean, I care about the people that do, because that means, alright cool, there some people who have an open mind, who are smart and who get art."

The "Day N Nite" star has been transcending the lines of rap music with each new release, and on his latest song, Cudi goes for a distinctively dark rock feel. He is especially proud of the fact that he was able to play the guitar on the track and deliver something worth recording. "It's just some people who are very one-track minded. The world that I am coming from, hip-hop, is so regurgitated and repetitive that some people are used to that and they don't want change, they don't like change," Cudi maintained. "And I get that, that's cool. Luckily for me, I'm confident in myself as an artist where I can do what I want, and as long as I'm cool with it, I'm cool with it."

"Perfect Is the Word" is the first track from Cudi and Dot Da Genius' upcoming Wizard album, and while the song is different, it isn't the only change that the musician has exhibited this year. In February, the G.O.O.D. Music artist took to Twitter to announce that he was leaving the Dream On label, which he launched back in 2009 with partners Patrick "Plain Pat" Reynolds and producer Emile Haynie. He also assured fans that he was still with Kayne West's G.O.O.D. Music.

That wasn't all, though: In April, Cudi revealed that he'd quit smoking marijuana on his Tumblr page. The rapper, who used to call himself the Lonely Stoner, now is experiencing a bit of backlash, but he remains undeterred and is pleased with his new material. "There were a lot of write-ups where people were just sh--ting on it and there were a lot of people who were like, 'We liked you better when you were on drugs,' " he said with disappointment. "It's kinda like, 'Man, OK, well you weren't a fan to begin with so f--- you,' and I like myself better off drugs. So it's about me and it's about evolving and it's about change. It's about becoming a man; it's about becoming mature."

Ultimately, Kid Cudi just wants room to grow. "Ten years from now I'm going look at my discography and I'm gonna be proud of it," he said. "I don't want to be 10 years from now looking at my discography, like, 'Man, I was a f---ing knucklehead when I made that.' "

Eminem Takes A Swipe At Lady Gaga On New Track 'A Kiss'

Posted: 06 Jun 2011 08:52 AM PDT

'She's still a mail lady,' Em jokes on the song, off his upcoming Bad Meets Evil team up with Royce Da 5'9.
By James Montgomery

Eminem

Eminem seems intent on hitting every lyrical target on the planet, eventually. His latest is Lady Gaga, whom he takes a shot at in a leaked track from his upcoming Bad Meets Evil team-up with Royce Da 5' 9."

On the song "A Kiss," which began making the rounds over the weekend, Em pokes fun at the debunked 2009 rumor that she was a hermaphrodite, and then lets it be known that she's not exactly his type.

'Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office/ She's still a mail lady," he raps about the pop star, who was the recipient of the 2009 Best New Artist VMA he presented. "Wouldn't f--- her with her d---/ You heard it/ The verdict's in."

Get it, "mail lady"? Male lady? On the track — one of nine featured on the duo's Hell: The Sequel EP, which drops June 14 — Eminem also makes mention of Katy Perry (he's "on her tail") and Justin Bieber (he "don't give a damn" about JB's daily schedule, apparently). Of course, this is nothing particularly new for Em, who has made a career out of this sort of thing, having lobbed lyrical bombs at everyone from Britney Spears to Kim Kardashian over the years. In late 2009, he raised more than a few eyebrows when he included what some read as a homophobic slur in a line about former "American Idol" faves Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken on the song "Elevator."

A spokesperson for Eminem and Lady Gaga's label, Interscope, did not respond to MTV News' request for comment on "A Kiss."

Last month, both Em and Royce sat down with MTV News to discuss the upcoming Hell: The Sequel EP, and the lyrics they penned after nearly a decade apart, telling Sway:

"Me and Royce ... ever since back in the day, when we did records together, we always had kind of a chemistry. It was fairly easy to play off what each other was doing, and I think we think a lot alike," Emi said. "And this record, it wasn't really anything we planned to do; we didn't get together and say 'Hey, let's make a Bad Meets Evil record. It was more along the lines of us making amends and repairing the issues we had."
