R&B singer Erykah Badu is learning the hard way that the naked truth isn't always such a good thing.

Having made headlines throughout the past week for shooting a music video for "Window Seat" while completely in the buff, Badu has been charged with disorderly conduct after police officers in Dallas received a formal complaint over the nude shoot, TMZ reported Friday (April 2).

According to the site, a Texas woman filed an indecency complaint with police officials after she and her mother witnessed Badu shooting the guerrilla-style video completely naked.

Dallas Police Department Senior Corporal Janice Crowther spoke with MTV News earlier this week and revealed that Badu and her colleagues did not file an official permit requesting to shoot the "Window Seat" music video, which filmed near the same spot where President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dealey Plaza in 1963.

"They definitely did not get a permit," Crowther said. "To shoot that video, they would have had to get a special-events permit from the events office, and it would have had to specify what type of filming they were doing, what subjects they would use and any traffic control they would need."

Indeed, directors Coodie and Chike of Creative Control revealed to MTV News that they did not seek out permits for the shoot and were well aware of potential attention from law-enforcement officials. Chike said Badu was fully prepared for the consequences.

"We had bail money and everything," Coodie said. "I think she really wanted to get arrested and even make a bigger message."

Do you think Badu should have been charged for her video shoot? Let us know in the comments below!

Eminem's New Music Will 'Surprise A Lot Of People,' Just Blaze Says

Producer also talks about the possibility of reuniting with Jay-Z.

It seems like the only time Just Blaze isn't in the sky these days is when he's working. Blaze has been DJing at places like the Winter Music Conference when he isn't busy traveling back and forth and producing for people such as Jay Electronica and Eminem.

"I'm working on Eminem's album still, so I've gotta hurry up and get back to Detroit," Just said. He was fresh off the turntables at club Grand Central during the Fool's Gold party in Miami, where he spun a two-hour house set. "I've been back and forth — Detroit, New York, Detroit, New York, Miami, back to Detroit — for like the past two and a half weeks. [The album], it's getting there, but we still got a lot of work. So I wish I could stay [in Miami] longer."

Blaze says he's sworn not to reveal too much about Eminem's album, but he's already calling it a classic, one of the ultimate efforts in Slim Shady's storied catalog.

"As far as what's going on in Detroit, a lot of good music is being made," Blaze said of Em. "He's really back spitting. The wordplay is crazy, the metaphors are crazy. He's really back on his game. He had his ups, he had his downs, he's back way, way, way up. This is definitely going to be up there with the best of his albums, for sure, for sure. The fact that he's branched out working with a lot of different people now, collaborating in a lot of different ways that he never has before, I think he's going to surprise a lot of people."

Other than Em, Blaze has Jay Electronica on his plate, but what about the super-producer linking back with the other Jay, as in Young Hova? Just says he talked to the Jiggaman right before the U.S. leg of the Blueprint 3 tour ended.

"Maybe," he answered with a sly grin about whether or not he and rap's G.O.A.T. would collaborate again. "You never know."

Are you excited to hear Eminem's new music? Would you like to see Just Blaze and Jay-Z reunite? Let us know in the comments below!

MTV's Musical March Madness: Presenting The Final Four!

Muse, My Chemical Romance, Tokio Hotel and Coheed and Cambria face off in the semi-finals.

The NCAA basketball tournament heads into its Final Four games on Saturday, which means it's only appropriate that MTV News' Musical March Madness tournament also holds its two semi-finals this weekend. The Elite Eight round was aggressive and intense, full of comebacks and near-misses. While no matchup had the last-second intensity of the My Chemical Romance/ 30 Seconds to Mars showdown in the Sweet 16, there were still four well-fought games worthy of their inclusion this deep in the tournament.

In the end, nearly 100,000 votes were cast in 48 hours for the four polls. Who advanced to the Final Four? Check out the updated bracket here and head over to the Newsroom blog to start voting in the Final Four round on Friday. One note about the voting from here on out: The results will remain secret until the winners are revealed, so you won't be able to keep track of the percentages as you vote. But fear not! We have some surprises in store for the reveals next week.

Midwest

The White Stripes had one of the more unlikely runs in this year's tournament, as they were one of the few participating groups who don't technically exist at the moment. Still, the enthusiasm for Jack White's oeuvre carried them past the likes of OK Go and Patrick Stump. But the buck stopped in the Elite Eight for Jack and Meg, as Muse continued their dominance for the victory. They've established themselves as the Duke of this bracket — the high-seeded team that used fundamentals to push their way up.

The results:

(2) Muse def. (4) The White Stripes, 69-31

West

The Wild West has been by far the most action-packed bracket, with a number of close calls and nail-biting finishes. So, it was a little bit surprising that My Chemical Romance took down the surging Panic! at the Disco so handily. After besting the likes of Gorillaz, Pearl Jam and 30 Seconds to Mars in games decided by razor-thin margins, the fans of My Chemical Romance (aided by a pact with 30 Seconds to Mars enthusiasts) pushed their favorite band past Panic! and into the Final Four.

The results:

(5) My Chemical Romance def. (15) Panic! at the Disco, 69-31

That sets up Muse and My Chemical Romance in the Final Four. Which rock powerhouse will find themselves in the finals?

East

Tokio Hotel have pounded their way through this tournament by eviscerating titans like Coldplay and Radiohead, but Owl City didn't show up just to roll over. They actually jumped out to an early lead before getting overwhelmed by the German juggernaut. It remains the closest round that Tokio Hotel have had, though it still seemed inevitable that they would advance to the Final Four.

The results:

(16) Tokio Hotel def (3) Owl City, 58-42

South

The South bracket has been Thunderdome since jump street, with underdogs like Alice in Chains, Mastodon, Creed and Coheed and Cambria dominating more mainstream acts like Nick Jonas, Adam Lambert and top overall seed Kings of Leon. In the end, the South was Coheed and Cambria's world, as they pounded Alice in Chains in the Elite Eight's most lopsided finish.

The results:

(15) Coheed and Cambria def. (13) Alice in Chains, 74-26

That creates an incredible Final Four showdown between Tokio Hotel and Coheed and Cambria. Both groups have scorched the earth on their way here, but only one can make it to the finals.

Voting opens soon at the MTV Newsroom blog and will stay open until Sunday at 10 p.m. ET. We'll reveal the finals on Monday, when a champion will be decided. Happy voting!

Lil Wayne may be away for the moment, but the rapper is making sure he's not forgotten while he's gone.

The imprisoned superstar launched a new Web site on Friday (April 2), WeezyThanxYou.com, where he'll post weekly updates, blog about sports and respond to letters he's received from fans since he began his prison stint last month.

"Your letter was so thoughtful and sincere," he wrote in response to Nurris Terrero of New York. "The way you worded everything left me in awe. Please send suggestions on books I should read. I look forward to checking them out."

In the first post, Wayne explains that he's been spending his days working out and reading the Bible. The rapper also announced he will revive his popular ESPN blog, where in the past he opined on various sports. Next week's scheduled post will be on the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Wayne, a father of four, said his family has been most pressing on his mind during his sentence. "My kids race through my mind all day. They know they were created with love, so love is how their life will be defined. I just hope my love and adoration for them provides a temporary bandage on a wound I unknowingly inflicted on them."

"I'm in good spirits man, for real," he wrote, contradicting rumors he had been involved in an altercation at Rikers Island.

In addition to the posts, the site features a clock that counts down how much time the rapper has until his release. It currently rests at 215 days. Fans can also purchase merchandise on WeezyThanxYou.com, including "Free Weezy" Young Money T-shirts.

The site was created by Lil Wayne in conjunction with popular hip-hop bloggers Karen Civil and Karla "hustleGRL" Moy.

"Weezy explained to me the idea behind WeezyThanxYou.com, which will basically serve as his gateway to the free world," Civil said in a statement to MTV News. "The site will allow the Young Money quarterback to post daily status updates as well as answer fan questions. 'I wanted to do something for my fans, so they know I am still with them and that I love them very much,' Wayne told me not too long ago. Fans who want to keep up on Weezy's release date will be allowed to see a continuously running countdown clock until Dr. Carter returns home later this year."

What do you think of Lil Wayne's new Web site? Will you be writing to him while he's in prison? Let us know in the comments!

Janet Jackson and director Tyler Perry appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Friday (April 2) to promote their latest film, "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?" During the appearance, Jackson spoke at length about the death of her brother Michael Jackson.

Jackson recalled being at her home in New York City when she received a call from her assistant relaying reports that her brother had fallen ill. After speaking with her sister LaToya and brother Jermaine, Janet learned that her brother had died.

"It's hard to believe still to this day," she said while holding back tears. "There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about him. Our whole family thinks of him every single day."

Jackson said she has difficulty looking at pictures of Michael, so much so that she physically turns away whenever she sees videos or photographs of her brother. She can, however, view photos of Michael as a child, as it reminds her how much fun they had together in their youth.

The last time Jackson saw her brother was a month before his death, when it was apparent to the entire Jackson family that Michael was very ill. Janet said she and her other family members staged an intervention for Michael, but the late pop sensation adamantly denied having any health issues. Perry took to Janet and her family's defense, strongly emphasizing that the Jacksons did their very best to help Michael in the days, weeks and months prior to his death.

In light of Michael's death, Perry and the cast and crew of "Why Did I Get Married Too?" were very protective of Janet during filming. In fact, Perry revealed that certain scenes in the film, including one where Janet's character speaks at a funeral, were altered in order to protect the starlet from public scrutiny, despite her own protests. Janet said: "He was so kind and everyone was so sweet. ... He was by my side."

Janet, who revealed that she's currently writing a self-esteem book titled "True to You," said the last words she ever spoke to Michael were: "I love you."

Actor John Forsythe died from complications of pneumonia in his home Friday (April 2) after a yearlong battle with cancer, his publicist Harlan Boll told The New York Times. He was 92 years old.

Born John Lincoln Freund in 1918, Forsythe had a long and varied career spanning from the 1940s to the early 2000s with several television, film and stage appearances over the years. Before achieving stardom, Forsythe served in the armed forces during World War II and appeared in the U.S. Army Air Force play and film "Winged Victory."

Professionally, Forsythe was undoubtedly best known for his various television roles, the most prominent of which was oil tycoon Blake Carrington on ABC's "Dynasty," a soap opera that ran from 1981 through 1989. Forsythe won two Golden Globes, and was nominated four additional times, and got three Emmy nominations for the role of Carrington.

In addition to "Dynasty," Forsythe delivered memorable turns on other television shows such as "Bachelor Father," a sitcom that ran from 1957 through 1962, starring as Bentley Gregg, the titular Beverly Hills lawyer and bachelor who raises his teenage niece after her parents are killed in a car accident. Forsythe also provided the voice of enigmatic millionaire and spy Charlie on "Charlie's Angels" alongside Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson and others.

Outside of television, Forsythe starred in several movies, including Alfred Hitchcock's "The Trouble With Harry" opposite Shirley MacLaine, the actress' first major movie appearance. He also reprised his role as Charlie in McG's "Charlie's Angels" movie in 2000 and its sequel, "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," in 2003. Those were his final two screen performances.

MTV's Musical March Madness Final Four Preview: Coheed And Cambria

They've done away with Paramore, Mastodon and Phish — but can they take down Tokio Hotel?
By James Montgomery

Who: The hard-riffing, hirsute champions of the South region in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament, Coheed and Cambria have outgunned pretty much everyone on their run to the Final Four — including a #2 and a #6 seed — and now stand as a legitimate threat to win the whole thing. It all starts with C&C mastermind Claudio Sanchez, a threat to score from pretty much anywhere on the floor. As comfortable driving and dishing as he is penning bong-glazed, beard-y graphic novels, Sanchez is sort of like the musical equivalent of John Wall, except with better hair. Let's just call him the MVP of the whole tourney.

How They Got Here: The selection committee was unkind to Coheed, saddling them with a #15 seed and scheduling a first-round matchup against highly favored #2 Paramore. Undaunted, C&C blasted Hayley Williams and company 60-40, then made quick work of their second-round opponent, fellow shredders Mastodon. Looming in the Sweet 16 were #6 Phish, who — after favorites the Kings of Leon, Paramore and the Dave Matthews Band were all bounced from the tourney — were seen as the favorites to win the region. But once again, Coheed rose to the occasion, winning a bruising 56-44 showdown and moving on to the Elite Eight, where they dispensed of Alice in Chains with relative ease. Through it all, Coheed have proven to not only be the band no one wants to face, but the band that seemingly cares more about winning this whole thing than anyone else. And that tenacity has paid off in spades.

The Outlook: Rabid, die-hard fanbase? Check (and then some). Dedicated bandmembers with too much free time on their hands? Yep. An actual, upcoming album to promote? Indeed. A few weeks ago, it would have seemed improbable (we didn't see them beating Paramore, to be honest), but at this point, Coheed have the right chemistry to take the championship. They'll face their toughest test in the Final Four, squaring off against #16 Tokio Hotel — a matchup of two bands with insane-o fans and nothing left to lose. The Internet shall surely buckle beneath the weight of their votes.

Throughout the day, we'll be breaking down the four bands still standing in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament. Voting on the Final Four opens Friday (April 2) on the Newsroom blog and runs until Sunday night.

Fabolous Says Exchange Of Twitter Quips With Jim Jones Isn't Serious

The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive

According to Fabolous, the back-and-forth he had with fellow New York heavyweight Jim Jones recently on Twitter was no big deal — just jokes. It's not going to lead into any dis records.

The same day Fab's "Body Ya" video hit the Internet, Jones tweeted about MCs he felt were biting his style. "I just seen another rapper's video that look just like my chain gang n scarf," Jones wrote. "Damn, I'm sonnin these n----az. I guess my style might body ya. Lol.'"

Loso came back on his Twitter page with more comedy, poking fun at Jones' mixtape The Ghost of Rich Porter. "#iJustWannaKnoWhy the competition won't stay #Dead," he wrote. "Maybe I should [release] a new mixtape call #TiNc3 — Ghost of the Competition."

"#iJustWannaKnoWhy ni--as think they invented Louis Vuitton??" Fab wrote later. "#nowplaying — 'You're Only a Customer' by Jay Z."

Jones came back with, "Can I at least get a thank u for gettin ur Twitter acct poppin? Lol. I'm out. I quit. I quit. Pow pow, play dead. Lol."

Fab spoke with us on Wednesday about the situation. He says he doesn't see things escalating.

"I don't know where his comment came from," Fab said. "I joked around with it too. It was kinda subliminal.

"I think it's definitely competition," Fab added. "But you can say things — it gets taken out of context whether you meant it as a joke or not. It could have been his opinion, but it still was thrown the way he threw it. It could have been taken in the context of you taking a shot at somebody. But I had fun with it, I made some jokes. That's it. I'm not looking at it as I got a really big problem or East Coast/West Coast beef. I cracked a couple of jokes about it. I'm not making a dis record about it. The point I'm in, I'm focusing on career. I'm branded as an artist. I'm almost 10 years in the game. Twitter dissing isn't important. My last mixtape states where I'm at — there is no competition. That's on Twitter as well."

Fab's "Body Ya" — in which he kills everyone he comes in contact with just by being in the same vicinity — is just one of many visuals coming from his mixtape The Funeral Service: There Is No Competition 2.

"I just shot 'I'm Raw.' Since we were talking about 'raw,' we went to a meat house in Brooklyn," the BK native explained. "It's also a story line, same as 'Body Ya.' The story line starts off with me working in a meat market. Definitely a great video. It's a great visual for a project that was a mixtape project. I wanted to expand it a little more."

MTV's Musical March Madness Final Four Preview: Muse

British rockers take on My Chemical Romance after pounding the White Stripes.
By James Montgomery

Muse
Photo: Warner/Getty Images/MTV News

Who: Champions of the Midwest region in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament, Muse roll into the Final Four with a whole lot of momentum at their British backs, having knocked off a murderers' row of rock-radio heavies just to make it to this point. Sort of a stripped-down version of Michigan's famed Fab Five (since, you know, there are only three of them), Muse mauled the competition with a game that's equal parts finesse and pound-n-ground, highlighted by the fleet-fingered shredding and multi-octave range of guitarist/frontman Matthew Bellamy and the pummeling, precise combo of drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Christopher Wolstenholme, perhaps the best frontcourt in the tourney.

How They Got Here: Muse faced perhaps the toughest road to the Final Four, entering the tournament as a #2 seed, then facing a baptism of fire in their first round matchup against seasoned vets the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Muse eeked out a 51-49 victory, but things didn't get any easier from there, as they were pitted against rock-radio brutes Breaking Benjamin in the round of 32. They won a tightly contested 53-47 battle, then advanced to the Sweet 16, where they took down upset-minded AFI by the same score. Their easiest matchup came in the Elite Eight, where they pounded the fourth-seeded White Stripes, perhaps showing that they're rounding into top form at precisely the right time.

The Outlook: Like we said, Muse are hitting their stride, and they'll make for a tough out in the Final Four. They command a rather ginormous international fanbase, and, after years of grinding it out, they've finally broken through stateside, too. Last year's The Resistance debuted at #3 on the Billboard albums chart (their highest U.S. bow ever), selling an impressive 128,000 copies, and their song "Uprising" is a rock-radio mainstay, having hung around on the charts for 34 weeks now. Plus, after besting the likes of the Chili Peppers and AFI, Muse are battle tested, which means we wouldn't bet against them at this point. The only downside? They'll go up against My Chemical Romance in the Final Four, which might prove to be too tough a matchup for even the mighty men of Muse.

Throughout the day, we'll be breaking down the four bands still standing in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament. Voting on the Final Four opens Friday on the Newsroom blog and runs until Sunday night.
