Britney Spears' 'Circus' Video -- Check It Out Here!

Clip is loaded with so much big-top excitement you can practically smell the popcorn.

There's so much excitement surrounding Britney Spears' "Circus" video that "Entertainment Tonight," who were supposed to world premiere the clip Friday night (December 5) actually bowed to public demand and aired it last night. And when a video garners that much heat, you know we're going to give it the deluxe treatment, too. So we broke out our high-tech VCRs (only the best here at MTV News!), and gave the clip the frame-by-frame treatment.

Below is our detailed examination of Brit's big-top-heavy "Circus" video, from the just-released album of the same name. Read it closely, because you don't want to miss a single dancing mime, top hat or barely there bikini top. After all, it's Britney ... uh, bitch.

0:01-0:07: Britney liberally spritzes herself with a strategically placed bottle of her fragrance, Curious, in a rather unsubtle bit of product promotion.

0:08-0:24: Brit marvels at — then models — a pair of diamond earrings.

0:25-0:31: As the video begins, we see Brit in a very pretty silhouette and some doves flying out of a top hat. Then Brit places the top hat on her head. Oh, wait, no she doesn't! Coy!

0:32-0:44: As she does a chair dance, Britney informs us that "there are only two types of people in the world: those who entertain, and the ones that observe." (Guess which category she falls under?) She then goes on to proclaim, "I'm a put-on-a-show kind of girl."

0:45-0:52: Uh-oh, Brit's pulling on the ringmaster coat, and she's prowling around with a gang of circus dancers!

0:53-1:16: Britney and her Big Top friends cavort suggestively. We see ribbon dancers, contortionists, a sad clown twirling a paper umbrella and a mime on stilts. As an aside, with Brit, T-Pain, Madonna and Pink joining this craze, has there ever been a better time to be a backup dancer with circus training than right now?!?

1:17-1:24: Lights up, and we're literally inside the circus now, as Brit — in a feathered top hat and/or a nude-colored body stocking — struts through a routine and sings, "All eyes on me, in the center of the ring, just like a circus." That she is doing this while actually standing in the center of a ring causes my literal meter to short-circuit.

1:15-1:36: Britney is actually wearing sequined hot pants with her ringmaster ensemble. A gentleman in a half-tuxedo/ half-gown outfit picks up a cane and twirls it around. Then Britney does the same as we head into the "breakdown," which is required by law to be featured in every uptempo Spears song.

1:37-1:55: We're into the break, and Britney's got a whip! And a chair! (I sound like Jim Ross right now.) Hey, there's a muscular dancer in suspenders! You can probably guess how things play out from there.

1:56-2:00: Just how hot does a firecracker actually make things? Sterno cooking fuel actually might generate more heat through combustion.

2:01-2:19: Britney is showered in slo-mo sparks, kind of like at the end of "The Natural," only with less Robert Redford. She also performs a routine in a barely there bikini top. Her backup dancers sort of look like hobo versions of the Pussycat Dolls (which means that they actually could be the Pussycat Dolls?).

2:20-2:37: A quick montage of jugglers, clowns, bikinis and — yikes! — Britney surrounded by a pair of lions. Perhaps she really is taking this whole circus thing a bit too literally.

2:38-2:57: And hey, it's another breakdown! This time, Brit and company show off a full routine, interspersed with shots of a rather puzzled-looking elephant. Britney still has her bull-whip and the bikini. There are also lots of flames.

2:58-3:33: We head to the big finish! It's like the director just looked at the call sheet for the first three-quarters of the video and was like, "You know what? Double it. Double everything." So we get two elephants, two acrobats and twice as many fierce backup dancers. Some dude breathes fire toward the camera. Britney does a goofy hand jive and cracks up. There is much emoting. And stilt walking. Then, it's all over, and Britney is standing in a spotlight, laughing as she holds a top hat over her head. And you are overcome with the sudden urge to go to the Big Apple Circus. Or pick up some Curious perfume. Or you know, possibly both.

So what do you think of Britney's "Circus" video? Let us know below!

New Eminem Song 'Number One' -- Apparently Produced By Dr. Dre -- Drops On Mixtape

No official word yet on whether song will appear on either Em's Relapse or Dre's Detox.

A new Eminem song produced by Dr. Dre: That's what DJs Big Mike and Neptune are advertising on their joint mixtape, 4th Quarter Pressure Part 2.

Labeled "Number One" on the mixtape, Em introduces himself as Slim Shady and starts singing the hook over a beat that has a big snare and medium-paced, flowing bass.

"So crack a bottle, let your body waddle/ Don't act just like a sloppy model, you just hit the lotto," Em raps melodically. "Uh-oh, uh-oh, b----es, hoppin' in my Tahoe/ I got one riding shotgun, and not one of them got clothes."

As the song progresses, it becomes more clear that the cut doesn't seem to be just an Em song, but at least a couple of the three verses call for Dr. Dre to rap, although his vocals don't appear on this version. Em introduces his friend right before the first verse.

"They see that low-rider go by, they like, 'Oh my!'/ You ain't gotta tell me why ya sick, 'cause I know why/ I dip through in that six tre like, 'Sic 'em, Dre!,' " Em raps, in what appears to be a reference to the Doc. "What else can I say, I love L.A., 'cause over and above all, I love L.A. ... Beats quake like Waco. "

Interscope has yet to comment on the song or confirm that Dre produced it, or whether the track will appear on either or both artists' forthcoming albums. Regardless, it seems like we are indeed getting closer to officially released material by Eminem, and maybe even Dre.

Interscope honcho Jimmy Iovine told Billboard recently that his two breadwinners are loading up new albums.

"I'll tell you about Eminem," he said. "We only tried to put him out this year to replace Dr. Dre, but we got into a quagmire. Eminem was always coming next year. But what happened was, I lost Dr. Dre to Eminem. Dre had to stop making his album to finish Eminem's album. Eminem hit a streak, and when a guy like Eminem gets on fire, you stop everything. That's how we lost Dre. Dre's going back in January. He'll be finished with Eminem by then, and he'll finish his album."

Release dates for Em's Relapse and Dr. Dre's long-percolating Detox have been announced. However, it looks likely that both will come after 50 Cent drops his Before I Self Destruct on February 4.

Can Kanye West Be Serious About Becoming A Fashion Intern? Designer Is Skeptical

Rapper said he wants to do some grunt work at Louis Vuitton.

We already know Kanye West has plans on revolutionizing music with his singing on 808s & Heartbreak. And he's never been shy about big upping himself at awards shows. But the Louis Vuitton Don apparently does have a humble side, and he's reportedly willing to prove it by taking an entry-level position at his favorite fashion house.

West recently said he's planning on taking time off from the music industry sometime soon to pursue one of his other passions: fashion. Specifically, he wants to learn about design — which he regularly explores on his blog — by possibly taking an internship at Louis Vuitton or with his designer friend, Raf Simons.

Even before he starts fetching coffee, it's not like he hasn't already put in some serious time on the design side. West has been working on a jewelry collection with one of his favorite artists, Takashi Murakami, as well as a men's shoe line for Vuitton and has his own clothing line Past Tell, which has been three years in the making and is slated to debut next year.

"I wanna make music and I like to perform. I like that, but I really like to design," Kanye told The Associated Press last month. "I'm going to go and take an internship with something and just do something that's like completely normal, and just rap on the weekends or something."

A spokesperson for the rapper could not be reached for comment at press time, but Belgian designer Simons told The New York Times this week that he was "blown away from the planet" when he heard West's comments.

"I know he's very serious about this — I don't take it as a joke — but how can I imagine him being my intern? It's a very extreme situation," Simons told the paper on Wednesday.

DJ Drama Says He Wants To 'Make History Again' With Young Jeezy, Not Beef

Posted: 05 Dec 2008 04:17 AM PST

'If there are things me and Jeezy need to speak about, that's for us to do,' Dram tells MTV News.
By Shaheem Reid

NEW YORKYoung Jeezy and DJ Drama are on the outs? Say it ain't so.

In fact, Drama says it ain't so ... well, not to the extent the fans are thinking.

Recently, at the Dirty Awards in Atlanta, T.I.'s and Shawty Lo's camps weren't the only ones to have a physical altercation. La the Darkman — Dram's friend and business partner — was in a fight with a member of Jeezy's Corporate Thugz Entertainment squad. Darkman said the scuffle stemmed from Jeezy dropping an F-bomb in front of Drama's name during a performance of The-Dream's "I Luv Your Girl" at his September album-release party in NYC.

On Thursday, an e-mail blast containing a song called "They Keep Talking" sent out by La's label, SRC Records, hinted that the track may be a dis record addressing the Snowman. Drama downplayed the tension between the two factions on Wednesday.

"As far as the altercation [at the Dirty Awards] goes, I can't really speak on it, because I wasn't there at the time. The Dirty Awards had already gotten crazy. As far as Young Jeezy and DJ Drama, DJ Drama and Young Jeezy made history together. I think DJ Drama is very important in Young Jeezy's career, as Young Jeezy is important in DJ Drama's career. I respect Jeezy, I like his music. There may be some things we don't see eye to eye on. Even with that, that's something that's between me and Jeezy, between homies and family.

"At the end of the day, I'm out playing good music," Drama added. "He makes good music, I rock it. Other than that, it's not too much I can speak upon."

As to what kicked off the differences in the first place, Drama said, "You may have to ask Jeezy about that. I continue to move forward. I'm sure in the future, me and Jeezy will work together. I'm here to get busy, man. I'm a DJ. That's what I do. I support good music."

Drama said he's been playing Young's "My President" at his spinning gigs and will not be biased against Jeezy.

"I love that song. That's the anthem. Why wouldn't I [play it]?" Drama said. "If there are things me and Jeezy need to speak about, that's for us to do. It's not for the public. I heard La's interview when he was on the Internet. Again, we're not here to escalate anything or condone anything, we're here to make good music. I'm gonna speak highly of everybody, because we're in Atlanta. How does that look to the fans? How does that look to the people if DJ Drama and Young Jeezy are beefing? That's not what we're here for. People wanna see us make history again."

T.I. has even offered to play mediator if his assistance is needed.

"Both of them are my guys," Tip told Shade 45 radio hosts Elliott Wilson and Angela Yee. "We're working on it right now. It's love."

Drama told us that the situation hasn't gotten so out of hand that the duo need a peacekeeper: "I don't think, to my awareness, that it's got to that point."

Jeezy and Drama connected for one of the biggest mixtapes of the decade, Gangsta Grillz: Trap or Die. The project solidified Young and Dram as kings of the street game. They also connected for the follow-ups Can't Ban the Snowman and I Am the Street Dream and their very first joint effort, Tha Streets Iz Watchin.

Young Jeezy was unavailable for comment at press time.

Responding to a report in Star magazine, the Jonas Brothers took to their MySpace page to insist that Kevin is not setting out on his own to record a solo album of "mature music."

At the end of a long post about their "amazing two weeks," they wrote, "There is a rumor that one of us is leaving [the] group. Not true. We love what we are doing and hope to do it together for a long time."

Now that they've cleared that up, they can go about being properly excited for their Best New Artist Grammy nomination.

"When you start in a band as an artist you say, 'One day, I'll be nominated for a Grammy.' It happened, and we're just so honored," Nick Jonas told MTV News at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday. "As young guys, we know that this is a privilege, and we do appreciate that. We're grateful."

On their MySpace page, they revealed how they celebrated the nomination. "Our heads are still spinning since the announcement," they wrote. "We are fans of all the other artists that are nominated in our category. It really is an honor. The crew from our TV series ['J.O.N.A.S.'] even threw us a party the following day congratulating us on the nomination."

They also revealed that they're hard at work on their TV show. "We are working hard every day on our new TV show, 'J.O.N.A.S.,' and can't wait for you to see it," they said. "But it was exciting to get back out there and be in front of our fans and friends again. We miss and love you so much."

Lily Allen Dances In 'Fear' Video, Despite Being 'Rubbish At That Kind Of Thing'

Posted: 05 Dec 2008 03:07 AM PST

Song is first single from It's Not Me, It's You, due in February.
By James Montgomery

Lily Allen

The first single from Lily Allen's upcoming It's Not Me, It's You album is called "The Fear." It's a relatively scathing indictment of today's glossy, celeb-ified culture (sample lyric: "I want lots of clothes and f---loads of diamonds/ I heard people die while they're trying to find them"), but when it came time to shoot the video for the song, she had just one thing on her mind.

"I wanted to do a dance routine, even though I'm not really doing a dance routine," she laughed. "Other people are doing it, but I'm part of it. I think people are quite used to girls in this industry really being able to move in front of the camera, but I'm just rubbish at that kind of thing."

So instead of Lily, it's a corps of dancers — dressed as wedding presents, bundles of balloons and, uh, waiters — who do the majority of the moving in the "Fear" clip, which the British singer recently shot at an English country estate. And though the clip is bubbly, colorful and whimsical, Allen also hopes that it manages to convey a little bit of the song's sarcasm. After all, it's basically her prancing and dancing through the world she's lampooning.

"I find it quite nerve-racking performing, actually. Because when you write songs, you don't really think about performing in a video," she said. "I think it's quite fun. Lots of color and dancing, and it's about doing something that's in keeping with the song, actually."

And though It's Not Me, It's You — the follow-up to Allen's breakout Alright, Still album — won't hit stores in the States until February, Allen is already gearing herself up for the daunting press gauntlet she'll be forced to run while promoting the disc (which is tough when you've got incidents like this, this, this and more in your past). But with one video in the can, she said she's more than up to the challenge. Sort of.

"It's been a bit daunting, actually, 'cause I haven't done a video for ... must be two years now," she said. "So I was a bit scared that it wasn't going to be very good, but it's been fun. I was expecting myself to be in a much worse mood by this time, but I'm feeling happy. But ask me again in seven hours how I'm feeling."

Warrant Issued For DMX's Arrest After He Skips Court Date

Judge raises cash bond to $120,000 due to rapper's no-show.
By Gil Kaufman

An Arizona judge issued an arrest warrant for DMX (born Earl Simmons) on Friday (December 5) after the troubled rapper failed to appear for a court date related to drug and animal-cruelty charges. In addition to the warrant, a Maricopa County Superior Court spokesperson confirmed that Judge Michael Kemp also raised the bond on DMX to $120,000 cash due to his no-show.

While manager Fred Coleman had no comment on the latest twist in DMX's ongoing legal saga, court-appointed Arizona attorney Charles Kozelka told MTV News he informed the judge that X has been "in and out" of several rehab facilities recently but that the judge would not accept that as a reason for the rapper's absence. Kozelka also explained that unlike the previous $10,000 and $25,000 bonds in the case — which allowed X to put up 10 percent of the bond in order to secure his release — the new bond must be paid in full, in cash.

X was due in court Friday to answer to a number of charges stemming from a series of arrests in Arizona over the past year, including 11 counts of drug possession and drug-paraphernalia possession, allegedly giving false information at a hospital and seven counts of animal cruelty.

In September, DMX missed a court date in Arizona when he was reportedly rushed to an emergency room in South Florida. That court appearance was tied to a previous bench warrant issued after the rapper missed a court date in August. This marks the third fugitive warrant issued for X's arrest in Arizona this year due to his failure to appear. Kozelka said he will soon be handing off the DMX case to another attorney, who could not be reached for comment at press time.

Jennifer Hudson Calls Her Four Grammy Nods 'Truly A Blessing'

After over a month of family tragedy, Jennifer Hudson said she feels blessed for the four Grammy nominations she received Wednesday. The singer and actress, who has already won an Oscar, may add Grammy winner to her résumé next year.

"It's been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing," Hudson said in a statement released by her record label. "I'm extremely honored and humbled by the nominations."

Hudson is up for Best R&B Album for her self-titled LP, as well as Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song for her debut single, "Spotlight." She also snagged a nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for "I'm His Only Woman," her duet with fellow "American Idol" contestant Fantasia.

Jordin Sparks is the only other "Idol" alum who managed to get a nomination — Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for her duet with Chris Brown on "No Air." According to the Los Angeles Times, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, David Cook and David Archuleta all had releases that were eligible for nominations but were snubbed.

The nominations must have been a welcome distraction for Hudson in the same week when her estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the October murders of Hudson's mother, brother and nephew. He was denied bail in Chicago on Wednesday.
