It seems like just yesterday that the devilish and charming Captain Jack Sparrow and his merry band of misfits were wreaking havoc upon the open seas in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." Lucky for fans of the hugely successful franchise, Johnny Depp is back in Sparrow's pirate garb this weekend in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

When MTV News caught up with Depp recently, we got to talking about one element missing from Captain Jack's unique existence: long-term relationships with any of the bevy of beautiful women that seem to constantly surround him, like "Stranger Tides" leading lady Penélope Cruz.

"I think if we did a scenario where it was Captain Jack really falling in love, it would most likely be a silent film. I think he would go completely catatonic and be unable to speak," Depp said. "He would probably sit there and quiver for an hour and a half."

Depp said a real relationship would "mess up the myth" of Jack Sparrow. "It would mess up the legend," he said. "Which I think is always working for it, to leave the legend behind."

Sparrow's apparent commitment phobia and other unexplained issues aside, Depp said having Cruz as his onscreen love interest/ sparring partner was a gift.

"[She's] one of the greatest gifts you could get," he said of Cruz. "She's so fiery and has such spirit and such talent. Also, besides that, she's a great friend," he added. "She's so funny and so capable of anything. You toss her a curve ball, or she tosses you one, she's ready for anything, and that's a really great and inspiring experience."

Check out everything we've got on "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

Hide the women and children because Bad and Evil are coming to "RapFix Live"!

Ever since Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" announced they would be joining forces to drop a Bad Meets Evil EP on Shady Records this June, hip-hop fans have been buzzing with excitement.

This Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, Em and Royce will join MTV News' Sway Calloway to give us the lowdown on their reunited duo and upcoming EP, Hell: The Sequel. For starters, the rappers reveal which of them is "Bad" and which is "Evil."

"I'm not Royce today: I'm 'Bad'; [Eminem] is 'Evil,' " Nickel Nine explained on the set of the duo's upcoming "Fast Lane" video.

Eminem added, "For the most part, I like my name, and I think I wanna be 'Evil.' We've had a debate about this before."

The Detroit MCs formed the duo in 1999 when they appeared together on the track "Bad Meets Evil" on Eminem's major-label debut, The Slim Shady LP, and released an independent single (with "Nuthin' to Do," "Scary Movies" and "I'm King") on Game Recordings. A feud halted any collaboration for years, but Marshall and Royce have since made peace, and in January it was announced that Royce's group, Slaughterhouse, was signed to Em's Shady Records.

Hell: The Sequel — featuring production from Mobb Deep's Havoc, DJ Khalil, Bangladesh and D12 member Denaun Porter — will be released June 14.

Visit MTV.com on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET to watch Bad Meets Evil on "RapFix Live"!

President Obama Delivers Commencement Address At Booker T. Washington High School

Winners of White House's 2011 Race to the Top Commencement Challenge got surprise of their lives at graduation ceremony.

Four years ago, Cassandra Henderson didn't want to attend Booker T. Washington High School because, as she put it, "I thought the same as everyone else: that it was a bad school with nothing but bad people in it." Now? Well, let's just say she's changed her opinion.

That's because, thanks to the commitment of Principal Alisha Kiner, the faculty and the students, not only has Booker T. Washington changed public opinion (posting math scores that are 20 percent higher and a 30 percent increase in graduation tends to do that), it has earned the attention of the nation, too, as the winner of the 2011 Race to the Top Commencement Challenge, a competition sponsored by Viacom, the Get Schooled Foundation and, oh yeah, the White House.

Booker T. Washington students created a video that showed not only school pride, but the resiliency its students possess in the face of overwhelming odds. Booker T. Washington HS is not only located in Memphis, one of the nation's poorest cities, but South Memphis has the 14th-highest crime rate in the country. And earlier this year, 20 percent of the school's students' homes were demolished in a citywide renewal plan. Still, in spite of all that, the school's successes speak for themselves ... which not only won them the nationwide competition, but meant that President Barack Obama would be coming to town to deliver the commencement speech at Booker T. Washington's graduation ceremony on Monday (May 16).

And understandably, students like Henderson were glad they stuck it out, not to mention proud of their school's accomplishments.

"It felt great," she beamed. "For him to come to Booker T. Washington, this school people thought was terrible; for him to come to our graduation was a great honor and it brings hope to the school, it brings more students to the school, it changes the way people think about the school. Now they know what we're all about here at BTW."

And as was the case last year, when Michigan's Kalamazoo Central High School won the Race to the Top Challenge, Obama arrived in Memphis and was greeted by a select group of students — a group that included Henderson — who met him as he landed in Air Force One and rode in a 30-plus vehicle motorcade to the school's graduation ceremony ... a ride they'll never forget.

"We got to the airport and we got checked, then we waited for the airplane to land, and we watched Air Force One land, and the ladder came down, and Obama came out. Oh my gosh, I didn't even cry — most people cry when they see him — I was just like, 'Oh, wow!' " Henderson laughed. "And then we rode in his motorcade, and it was like we were the bosses. We were running the streets, nobody was getting past us. We were all saying, 'We're rolling with Obama!' "

Also along for the ride was graduating senior Christopher Dean, who starred in Booker T. Washington's winning video ("I tried to introduce myself, and he said 'Stop, I know who you are! You're Christopher Dean, I love your video!" Dean laughed). And once they arrived at graduation, Obama spoke to both students privately — and helped Dean straighten his tie — before surprising the rest of the student body before the ceremony took place. And he had Dean help him out in the surprise.

"Our principal was giving [the graduating students] this speech, 'This is how everyone needs to be,' like she was going to be hard on them," Dean explained. "Then I walked in and the president was behind me, and they went wild. When I brought him into the room, there were tears."

Dean then introduced Obama at the ceremony — but not before Obama gave him a little help. "Before I gave my speech, he could tell I was nervous, so he looked at me and was like, 'You know what? You got it. Do it for me,' Dean said. "And I knew I couldn't mess up. These words were going to flow like water in the Mississippi River!"

And for the students at Booker T. Washington, Obama's surprise appearance was not only an added bonus to an already thrilling day, but it served as inspiration for a city that's been down on its luck for a while now. And, hopefully, using Booker T. Washington High as an example, it can strive to be just a little bit better from now on.

"I'm proud of my school and happy for my city. It was easy to play a role [in the winning video] once you've got peers like I have, and friends like I have ... these are great people, and they deserve to have the President come here," Dean said. "This city needed the help that he brings. What better place to come than Memphis? I love my school, I love my friends; we deserve it."

Lil Wayne Says Watching Director Colin Tilley Made Him 'Envious'

'I was mad that I was on a video that was that damn good and it wasn't mine,' Weezy says of tapping Chris Brown's go-to director for 'John.'

You might not peg Lil Wayne for the jealous type, but after appearing in Chris Brown's "Look at Me Now" video, Weezy was green with envy. So much so that he enlisted that video's director, Colin Tilley, to shoot his latest Tha Carter IV clip, "John."

"When I shot the 'Look at Me Now' video, I was envious," Lil Tunechi admitted to Sway in an exclusive sit-down with MTV News. "I was mad that I was on a video that was that damn good and it wasn't mine."

The Chris Brown video, which featured both Weezy and Busta Rhymes, immediately sparked the interest of the Young Money CEO. "When I looked around and noticed that I was standing on top of an ambulance and they had somebody doing doughnuts on a motor bike. They had another dude on a skateboard doin' tricks, they had people around a bonfire, they had people dancin', everybody was dressed cool. Busta and Chris up here, Chris doin' moves with his body that I didn't even know that your body could do," Wayne recalled. "I looked around when he said, 'Action.' All that went on during action. All that I just named; all that went on during one single action."

Weezy F. was so impressed that when it was time to shoot "John," he brought Tilley into the fold.

"When I first talked to Wayne about the video, we had just done the 'Look at Me Now' video," Tilley told MTV News earlier this month. "And he really liked the whole feel of that video, how there was just so much goin' on and just the whole energy and colors and all that. That's pretty much what they gave me when they gave me the song. They were like, 'We just love that energy and we want that whole vibe from it.' "

Filmed in Miami, "John" is far from glamorous, instead focusing on grit and grime. The clip finds Wayne and guest rapper Rick Ross performing inside an abandoned warehouse and outside of a dock. For Wayne, it was the perfect look for his latest street single.

"I had the 'John' song. I just put 'John' out there, of course, it's just a club banger. It's something to see, it's just something raw. I know that it's not gonna get too much [airplay] because of the lyrical content — it's not gonna get too much. It was just something to put out there, people are waiting for something so I just put it out there."

James Durbin Plans To 'Keep It Real' In Post-'American Idol' Career

'I'm not gonna pretend to be somebody else on the show and then do something completely different with my career,' he tells MTV News.

"American Idol" viewers were shocked when season 10 rocker James Durbin was eliminated last week. His over-the-top performances — complete with fiery pianos, apocalyptic costumes and rock-and-roll wails — earned rave reviews from the judges. Up until his farewell, he had always been a top vote-getter.

With his penchant for dramatic staging (and the occasional stylish trench coat), producers often framed James as "the Adam Lambert" of season 10. Durbin even cited Lambert as an influence early on in his "Idol" run and was thrilled to get personal advice from the successful "Idol" alum when he visited the set. But when push comes to shove, James insists he and Adam are apples and oranges.

"I don't know what the comparison's all about. He sings pop and electronic, and I sing rock and metal," Durbin told MTV News on Monday (May 16).

It's a distinction that Lambert himself noted in February, Tweeting, among several positive comments, "While we both have a rock scream, I think we're pretty different stylistically." Recently, Lambert — and a host of past "Idol" stars — publicly shifted support to Haley Reinhart.

Durbin dismisses any theories that Adam's opinion swayed fans to another camp, although he did take notice when his "Idol" inspiration told The Hollywood Reporter that he was "kind of over" James.

Durbin casually shrugged, "I was nothing [but] nice to that guy and, you know, he decided to take it to a different level. Whatever."

With a buzz-worthy "Idol" run under his belt and a big summer tour with the other season 10 finalists on the way, Durbin has every reason to brush off any naysayers. In fact, the California native received an unprecedented hero's welcome in Santa Cruz last Friday, with 30,000 fans showing up for a free concert.

For now, Durbin is only looking ahead to what the future holds, and he's hungry to get into the studio to make some colorful hard-rock music.

"I'm gonna keep it real my post 'Idol' career. I'm not gonna pretend to be somebody else on the show and then do something completely different with my career. I know who I am, I know what I wanna do, and I know where my fans are. And I know what they want."

Fans can check out James Durbin and the rest of the Top 11 on this summer's American Idols Live! Tour, which kicks off in West Valley City, Utah, on July 6.

Lady Gaga's 'Hair' Embraces Style Freedom

In one week, Lady Gaga will officially drop her Born This Way album. Until May 23, she's teasing fans with another track off the highly anticipated release. This time, Gaga is declaring who she is on "Hair."

The RedOne-produced song hit iTunes on Monday afternoon (May 16). Much like "Born This Way," "Hair" is an empowering track about embracing who you are. Unlike "Judas," which had a dark, industrial vibe, "Hair" is a fist-pumping, defiant disco track all about having a good time — a good time that's enhanced by getting "The Edge of Glory" sax player Clarence Clemons to blow on this song too.

"Whenever I dress cool, my parents put up a fight/ And if I'm a hot shot, Mom will cut my hair at night/ And in the morning I'm short of my identity/ I scream, 'Mom and Dad, why can't I be who I want to be?'/ I've had enough, this is my prayer/ That I'll die living just as free as my hair," she sings as the music grows louder. Lady Gaga then goes retro on the breakdown, singing about different hairstyles she's had.

Leading up to the release, Gaga took to Twitter to tease fans with lyrics and show off the single's artwork, a black-and-white photo that features Gaga lying down on the ground, wearing a black leather dress and knee-high black boots. Her hair and the word "hair" are colored pink.

" 'I'll dye living just as free as my Hair!' Actually the lyric is 'I'll die.' I think these bleach fumes are making me laugh at my own jokes," Gaga tweeted less than an hour before the release. Earlier, she wrote more about her hair and "Hair": " I just want to be free, I just want to be me, and I want lots of friends that invite me to their parties. #Hair. ... I don't wanna change, and I don't wanna be ashamed. I'm the spirit of my Hair, it's all the glory that I bare. I am my #Hair. ... How ironic, head full of bleach + two black Cruella stripes. Scalp burning, Mole drawing, eyeliner dripping. Waiting for #Hair. I could Dye."

Early Monday (May 16) morning hip-hop fans were stunned by the news that Cali Swag District member M-Bone died Sunday night, the victim of a drive-by shooting.

Bone, born Mante Talbert, was one-fourth of the group that rose to fame with their 2010 single "Teach Me How to Dougie." Cali Swag frontman C-Smoove tweeted, "Ma life changed drastically in the blink of an eye. rip mbone," early Monday morning.

Inglewood Police Department Homicide Sgt. Brian Spencer confirmed to MTV News that the 22-year-old Bone died of two gunshot wounds to the head in his hometown of Inglewood, California.

M-Bone's life in photos.

At about 10:30 p.m. PT Sunday night, police were called to the 400 block of North La Brea in Inglewood. When police arrived on the scene, they found Talbert seated in the driver's seat of a black unspecified vehicle with at least two gunshot wounds to the head. Paramedics then took him to a local hospital where Talbert eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Witness accounts confirm that the rapper was seated in his car when the gunmen pulled alongside him in a separate vehicle and let off at least two rounds. The suspects fled northbound on La Brea.

Signed to Capitol Records, Cali Swag District made their name with the platinum dance hit "Teach Me How to Dougie," an ode to the dance popularized by hip-hop legend Doug E. Fresh. The record's remix featured Jermaine Dupri, B.o.B, Bow Wow and Red Cafe, and their debut album, The Kickback, is slated for a 2011 release.

The Inglewood Police Department is asking anyone with information to come forward and call its homicide division at (310) 412-5246 or its 24-hour anonymous hotline number, (888) 41 CRIME, or (888) 412-7463.

While 82 shows in 85 days in no small feat, Tech N9ne isn't worried about his marathon run. He's prepared.

Last week, the Kansas City, Missouri, rapper embarked on his All 6s and 7s Tour, which will keep him on the road for almost three months straight with little time to rest.

"This is the most I've ever done. We usually do, like, 60-something shows in 60-something days," Tech said. "This ain't too far off, but this is the most we've ever done."

In order to condition himself, Tech sought the help of his personal trainer and came up with a laundry list of things he needs to do in order to stay in shape.

"You gotta take your Syntha-6 protein shakes, you gotta drink those, you gotta eat right. You gotta eat every two hours. You gotta try to get up to six times a day; I haven't even got up to four," Tech Nina told MTV News. "I have been workin' out with him for like four months. So now I'm out here by myself, and I gotta get a jump rope, we already got the dumb bells, we already got the mats, we already got the medicine ball, and your voice, it just has to grow accustomed to yelling every night."

The Strange Music CEO is currently doing a run in Canada but will start the U.S. leg of his tour on May 26 in Seattle. He won't be alone either: Strange Music artists Jay Rock, Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, Stevie Stone and ¡Mayday! will all join Tech on tour.

Judd Apatow Hopes 'Bridesmaids' Leads To More Films 'Starring Funny Women'

Posted: 16 May 2011 03:19 AM PDT

'People appreciate the fact that it is crazy funny, but is also a very sweet story about female friendship,' producer tells MTV News.
By Eric Ditzian

In the run-up to the debut of "Bridesmaids" this past weekend, with theaters jammed with popcorn action flicks like "Thor" and "Fast Five," industry insiders were predicting a box-office gross of around $15 million to $17 million. But stellar reviews, strong word of mouth and, most importantly, a staggeringly funny film combined to thrust "Bridesmaids" to a $26.2 million opening.

Yet while the rest of Hollywood might have been surprised that the movie, starring "Saturday Night Live" star Kristen Wiig and a slew of hilarious supporting women, did so well, producer Judd Apatow had a feeling the comedy would connect with a previously untapped slice of the movie-going public.

"I always hoped that there was this huge neglected audience out there hoping someone would start making movies for them," Apatow said in an email to MTV News on Monday (May 16). "I am so excited I was not imagining things. Hopefully this will lead to a lot more movies being made starring funny women."

The larger-than-expected opening has led industry observers to wrack their brains, trying to figure out just how "Bridesmaids" performed above expectations. Was it the way Universal's marketing campaign capitalized on a buzzy premiere at the South by Southwest film festival? Did a social-media effort — mass emails sent from female entertainment veterans and stories, like one in Salon, that suggested that seeing the movie "is a social responsibility" — drive ticket sales? Or maybe simply being attached to the Apatow brand was enough? The filmmaker himself, though, prefers a much simpler explanation.

"I think people appreciate the fact that it is crazy funny, but is also a very sweet story about female friendship," he said. "And it is always fun to see new hilarious comedy stars. People like it like they like discovering a new band."

He's hoping that once these up-and-coming actresses — like Ellie Kemper and Melissa McCarthy — have been discovered by a wide audience, they'll follow in the footsteps of actors like Jason Segel and Jonah Hill, who played supporting roles in Apatow films such as "Knocked Up" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" before going on to anchor their own comedies.

"I think they all deserve to star in their own movies," Apatow said. "It is usually a dearth of scripts which hold great actresses back. Hopefully the studios will develop more movies for them. As will I."

Movies like "Knocked Up" and "Virgin," of course, kicked off a new era in Hollywood, as studios raced to green-light films attempting to mimic the intangible comedic ingredients that made those films so great. On the (high) heels of "Bridesmaids," are we now in for a slew of female-driven imitators — a second wave of the Apatow effect? On this topic, at least, the writer/director is staying out of the fray.

"The only thing we like to do is come up with emotional stories we like, then try to figure out how to make them funny," Apatow said. "I think when you start with the comedic idea and try to jam emotion in there it usually comes out weird and forced."

Check out everything we've got on "Bridesmaids."

Since Sarah Jessica Parker's pop-culture legacy is so tied to her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City" and its two movies, whenever MTV News has the opportunity to chat with the actress, we have to get an update on the beloved series.

Thankfully, we caught up with Parker at the Cannes Film Festival and asked her to comment on the rumors about a "SATC" prequel, as well as her thoughts on returning to the famed role of Ms. Bradshaw one more time.

"I think it always comes down to story and what is the story people want to tell," Bradshaw said of the rumored adaptations of "The Carrie Diaries." "Obviously, I feel proprietary in the best possible way about that entire franchise as it were, but I think there are lots of talented storytellers and obviously lots of talented actors who might be a part of it. I think, like anything, you base your opinion on material and content, and I think that would be the only way for any of us to have an opinion."

Regarding a future "SATC" installment, be it on the big screen or small, Parker revealed that there might be another tale to tell.

"I think there is perhaps one more small, important story to tell," she said. "Whether or not we choose to do that and when we choose to do that remains, obviously, the unknown, but it's nice to ponder."

One more story, huh? We mentioned that it sounded like Parker has that specific story in her head.

"I don't, but somebody else does," she said with a knowing smile.

Nas Says Common's Fox News Critics Are 'Just Miserable'

Complaints about Common's White House appearance show detractors 'are not open to change,' Nas tells MTV News.

Common might be the latest rapper targeted by Fox News, but he isn't the first. Years before Fox News described the largely progressive Chi-Town MC as a "vile rapper" on its website, Nas faced similar criticisms.

In an exclusive sit-down with Nasty Nas, MTV News' Sway Calloway got the Illmatic rapper's take on Fox's reaction after Michelle Obama invited Common to the White House for a May 11 poetry reading.

"The people who feel like Common shouldn't be performing are really old in their thinking," Nas said. "It's like your grandparents have a microphone, and not even smart grandparents — just ignorant grandparents."

Nas faced similar criticism in 2007 after he performed a free concert in support of students in the wake of the now-infamous Virginia Tech shooting. Fox News correspondent Bill O'Reilly denounced the performance and criticized Nas for his violent lyrics.

"Things change. So, a smart grandparent is gonna say, 'OK, I get it.' Ignorant grandparents who are just stuck in their own ways, they just need to die," Nas said. "There's a new America: There's a real good America that's here, and they don't want it to happen because it means that they are gone.

"It scares the hell out of them. They feel like an endangered species in their way of thinking," he continued. "People that are not open to change are just miserable."

Regardless of the criticism, Common went on with his scheduled White House appearance last week. He has declined MTV News' requests for comment.

'Breaking Dawn' Interview Process Made Gus Van Sant 'Nervous'

'Usually people just hire me,' he tells MTV News of being on the short list of potential 'Twilight' finale directors.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Gus van Sant
Photo: MTV News

When Robert Pattinson told us Gus Van Sant would be his ideal director for "Breaking Dawn" because the material is "all about teenage love and obsessions," it turned out Van Sant himself was listening.

As the director revealed to MTV News at the Cannes Film Festival, Pattinson's suggestion led directly to Van Sant joining the short list of helmers in March 2010.

"I've never met [Pattinson], but I think that's where it started," he said. "I had heard him mention it in the press. So I thought, 'Oh, is that even actually a possibility? Would they even hire someone like me for this film?' That's how I got all involved in it. I told my agent, so I became one of the directors."

The other directors being considered at the time were Sofia Coppola and Bill Condon. Each reportedly met with Summit Entertainment, with the job eventually going to Condon. Before he was passed over, however, Van Sant had what he called a very nerve-racking meeting with studio execs.

"I got very nervous," he said. "There were, like, 15 people. I had never really auditioned or gone into a job interview in that way since maybe 1988 or '87. I guess I was unprepared for it. Usually people just hire me.

"In this case, they wanted me to talk about their project, which really needed to follow very closely the book and which the outline was following very closely the book," he added. "There was a certain amount of room for illumination on their own project, but they were the experts. I was talking about the book, and really all I was saying was, 'OK, this is great, let's go to it.' That was the pitch. I think they're used to something else. They're used to, for those of you who might audition for film jobs, a 40-minute dissertation with perhaps visual aids and a pep talk about how fantastic this project is going to be. I just didn't know how to do that."

Mixtape: I Love You (A Dedication to My Fans)

Real Spit: You don't last over 14 years in the game without garnering some serious fans. For his next trick, Jadakiss offers up I Love You (A Dedication to My Fans) to show his appreciation.

"I wanted it to be different than The Champ is Here," Kiss said, referring to the mixtape trilogy that helped make him a fan favorite. "One aspect of the difference is all original music. It's not me destroying other people's beats, which you're used to hearing.

"It's just some original cuts, some joints for the ladies, some heartfelt joints for you to zone out to. It takes you on a journey. I call it a good summertime introduction CD."

Led by the single "Hold You Down," featuring Jada's new R&B artist Emanny, I Love You showcases a softer side of the Yonkers, New York, MC, with many of the cuts aimed at his female following. Things aren't all lovey-dovey however: The Neptunes-produced "Lil Bruh" is a cautionary track that warns young hustlers of the streets' pitfalls.

Styles P makes an appearance on "Lay Em Down," as he and Jada trade back-and-forth bars in true LOX fashion. NY newcomer Fred the Godson jumps on the celebratory "Toast to That."

I Love You, which is set for a Def Jam retail release on May 24, also features Rick Ross and Trae Tha Truth.

Joints to Check For

» "Hold You Down" - "It's featuring my new artist: R&B sensation Emanny. It's good radio-friendly, it's good for the clubs, it's good for the chicks. It's a good way for me to break him — introduce him to the world on a bigger level, bigger scale."

» "Lil Bruh" - "My man Icepick [Jay Jackson] was telling me about Pharrell had this song and he let us get the files and move it around, do a little remix and use some of the words for the hook. It came out to be pretty good."

Ke$ha Is Channeling 'Sexiness' Of '70s Rock For New Album

Glitter-heavy pop star tells MTV News she's going for 'balls-out, irreverent rock and roll.'

Ke$ha's already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to guzzling blood out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most theatrical era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s.

Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM's annual Wango Tango concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout Animal album (and, we suppose, Cannibal too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much everything else.

"The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it."

So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc.

"I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it."

What do you think of Ke$ha going rock for her next album? Tell us in the comments!

Angelina Jolie And Jack Black Tout Live-Action Collabo

In two "Kung Fu Panda" films, Angelina Jolie and Jack Black go paw to paw — she as a badass tiger, he as a noodle-loving panda — sometimes as fierce rivals, sometimes as reluctant allies. The first animated tale grossed more than $630 million worldwide and, if everything goes according to DreamWorks' plan, the second will do equally big business when it begins rolling out across the globe in late May.

Clearly Jolie and Black make for a winning cinematic combination, which raises the question: Might this blockbuster duo team up for a live-action adventure? When we put that query to them at the Cannes Film Festival, it at first didn't seem as if the possibility had even been discussed.

"We haven't really talked in a joking way, we haven't talked it in any type of way," Black said.

But when Jolie confessed, "I'd love to," Black was off and running.

"That benefits me. What project could we do together?" he asked, before adding. "Oh, we did talk about it a little bit, because Jerry Lewis did a really funny movie with Shirley MacLaine. She was a hot number and he was just a clown, and I thought that could work for us too."

The film he was referring to is the 1955 musical, "Artists and Models," a sort of comedy of errors involving comic books, horoscopes and a ton of sexual tension between MacLaine and Lewis.

"That sounds good," Jolie said.

Black even had a title in mind for the potential collaboration. " 'Hot Number and the Clown' might be the title," he told her.

"I'd love to do something with Jack," she responded.

Joe Jonas' first-ever solo single, "See No More," will be released to radio on June 3, and will be available for purchase digitally on June 13. The middle Jonas Brother also announced that his debut album will drop on September 6. Jonas worked on "See No More" with Chris Brown, and he says he's anxious to find out what people have to say about it.

"[It's] very exciting and I'm looking forward to all the fans hearing it and hopefully new ones [as well]," Jonas told MTV News at the Wango Tango concert in Los Angeles over the weekend. "I've been working with [a video] director now to come up with the concept and the entire idea of what it is for me. I think it's more so about how the emotions and the feelings that are going through and how you're dealing with them and just displaying them in physical actions, so it'll be the first really thought-out video that I've done."

Jonas added that he's planning to reduce the number of collaborators he's working with on the clip. "I have a couple directors now; we're just scaling it down and I think I've found the dude and we've been talking for a while and don't want to give away too much, but I'll be shooting it probably in the next few weeks," he explained.

So, will Brown make a cameo at all? "Well, Chris and I, we wrote the song together," he said. "Not sure if there's plans for him to be in the video, but I think it's always really cool to be able to write with other artists and work with them, especially someone as talented as Chris. So excited [for the release, though]. It's a dream come true and to have people listen to them for the first time."

Jonas added about his solo project in a press release, "Working on this album has been a rewarding but intense experience. 'See No More' especially carries a lot of personal emotions with it and I am hoping people listening to it will get a sense of where I'm coming from with this new sound. I've had an awesome team working with me on the music and I am excited, anxious, but more importantly ... ready ... to share it all with my fans. It's as much for them as it is for me."

Earlier this year, Kim Kardashian premiered her first-ever single, "Jam (Turn It Up)," produced by The-Dream. The track received much hype, but shortly after its release, everyone kind of forgot about the song and its music video, which has yet to see the light of day. So will it?

When asked whether she thought the video would premiere on the upcoming season of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" (there seems to be footage from the clip teased in ads for the show), Kourtney replied, "No, no, no. What was that [footage in the show's commercial]? I think that was a part of her video, maybe. They were there when she was shooting her video."

Kourtney, who was speaking with MTV News on Friday at the John Frieda Destination tour stop in New York, where she and Khloé also dished on Khloé's TV show, added that much like Kim's fans, she has yet to see the Hype Williams-directed video. "I've never seen it. ... I think it's for her eyes only," she said.

Khloé did offer some insight into the footage teased in the ads. "They were filming that behind-the-scenes, but not the whole music video," she said. "But I'm sure you're gonna see [something]. I don't know what they edit into the episodes."

Unlike Kourt, Mrs. Lamar Odom has seen the video. Her review? It's awesome. "I've seen it. It's to die for. Her body is banging, baby. ... The song was for charity; it wasn't for her to have a recording deal. [It was] something she just wanted to be for herself and for fun, so the video she made just for herself," she said. "It was never meant to be played publicly."

Rihanna has teamed up once again with director Anthony Mandler for the singer's forthcoming "Man Down" video. Having just released their sun-drenched, dreamy clip for "California King Bed," the duo will shift gears for this video.

"We've done 16 videos together; they're not all tough," Mandler said when asked about what fans can expect from the new clip. " 'If I Never See Your Face Again,' 'Hate That I Love You,' 'Take a Bow'... Yeah, I mean, I'm known for the 'Disturbia's and the 'Russian Roulette's and things like that, but 'Only Girl (In the World)' is certainly an ethereal kind of empowering, beauty-filled video and what we're coming with next ... is certainly gonna flip people's minds with 'Man Down.' "

Mandler didn't give too much away, but he did reveal that this clip will have her fans talking once it does premiere. "We shot the video last month in Jamaica and it's my favorite song she's ever recorded, so I was really excited to get involved," he said. "And it's just one of those songs that demands a strong narrative and visual, and let's just say she let me go all the way. So I think you can expect something that's dramatic and shocking and intense and emotional and uplifting and enlightening."

The reggae-tinged tune tells the story of a young woman who guns down a man and is seeking some forgiveness for her actions. So, will Rihanna wield a firearm in the clip? "Without saying too much, if you're looking for a narrative you're not going to be disappointed," Mandler shared. "Just know that it's going to be exciting."

Kanye West, Stevie Wonder To Headline Austin City Limits Festival?

Rumors have both West and Wonder joining Arcade Fire as headliners at September fest.

In recent years, festivals have tried to shake up the usually staid process of revealing their lineups (little more than a press release and an embargo) with "Wheel of Fortune"-style puzzles and marathon MySpace unveils that involved flying light bulbs. But for the 10th anniversary of Austin City Limits, the folks behind the fest have attempted to spice things up by going in the opposite direction: They're unveiling their lineup via a delightfully lo-fi series of scratch-off cards.

As part of the "Lineup Lottery," ACL has been distributing cards through various Austin-area venues, and fans can learn who's on the bill simply by scratching. So far, they've revealed names like presumed headliners Arcade Fire, plus My Morning Jacket, Cee Lo and Chromeo. But thanks to an even lower-fi source, we may now know the identity of the other two headliners: Kanye West and Stevie Wonder.

In the June issue of Spin magazine (a scan of which you can see here), both West and Wonder are listed along with Arcade Fire, and, over the weekend, Austin360.com music journo Michael Corcoran wrote on his Twitter account that the rumors "are on the mark." Reps for either artist could not be reached for comment by press time.

The full Austin City Limits lineup is reportedly set to be unveiled Tuesday. All told, some 150 bands will perform at the fest, which is set for September 16-18 in Austin's Zilker Park. Three-day passes for the 10th ACL have already sold out, with one-day tickets set to go on sale Tuesday through the fest's official site.
