The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive

Snoop Dogg sent out a warning on his Twitter page earlier this week to look out for the "Kings G-Mix" of his hit "I Wanna Rock." Shortly after, the track featuring him and Jay-Z was igniting the Net.

"I wanna rock right now," Jay raps. "The name is Hov, and I came to shake the town/ Yeah, your boy's internationally known, but I'm from the 'hood/ Got a pocketful of stones."

From there, Jigga drops an assortment of rappers' names, such as Big Daddy Kane, Notorious B.I.G., Doug E. Fresh and Rob Bass, as he talks about his rise from street drug czar to greatest MC ever.

Fellow New York hip-hop heavyweight DJ Green Lantern said that's not the only "I Wanna Rock" remix you'll hear. The Evil Genius has an official reworking on deck, which is going to give the record a Down Bottom feel.

"I'm working on a remix for Snoop, 'I Wanna Rock,' " Green told us a couple of days ago. "Trust me: When you hear it ... it's got a Southern feel to it. It's got a bounce to it. Right now, I got Yo Gotti, the cat Roscoe Dash, who's got the 'All the Way Turnt Up.' I'm waiting on a couple more verses. Snoop's got it. I'm working with it right now. It's a crazy flip of that."

Green is also quick to point out that he loves what Scoop DeVille did with the original record: "I think that's a crazy beat."

On Tuesday, get ready for an in-depth preview of the Evil Genius' next huge mixtape — the much-anticipated Green Ghost Project with Styles P — right here in Mixtape Daily. The mixtape will be released February 2 with production by Green, Statik Selektah, Vinny Idol, Buckwild, the Alchemist, Dame Grease and Poobs. Guests include Jadakiss and Raekwon.

As the crisis in Haiti continues in the wake of the devastating 7.0 earthquake on Tuesday, MTV and George Clooney have teamed up to present a telethon to rally support and raise money for the embattled country.

On Friday night, January 22, the Oscar-winning actor will appear in a bi-coastal telethon and fundraiser on all MTV Networks channels. All proceeds will go toward relief efforts in Haiti.

A roster of musicians, actors and actresses that will also take part in the benefit will be announced in the coming days.

Before Friday's Clooney-led benefit, there are numerous ways in which you can take part in Haitian relief efforts. MTV has culled together a list of organizations, from the American Red Cross to Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti to UNICEF, that are providing valuable services on the island.

"I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse," Jean wrote on his Web site. "We must act now."

From Facebook support groups to the halls of Washington, D.C., the nation has galvanized around the embattled island nation as it experiences the latest in a string of humanitarian crises.

President Obama pledged support for Haiti in a speech on Thursday (January 14).

"In this, your hour of greatest need, America stands with you," President Obama said. "The world stands with you. We know that you are a strong and resilient people. You have endured a history of slavery and struggle, of natural disaster and recovery. And through it all, your spirit has been unbroken and your faith has been unwavering. So today, you must know that help is arriving — much, much more help is on the way."

Lady Gaga Postpones Purdue Show Due To Exhaustion

Lady Gaga was forced to postpone her West Lafayette, Indiana, concert on Thursday night just moments before she was scheduled to take the stage after suffering from breathing problems. The postponement of the show at Purdue University's Elliott Hall of Music came after opening acts Jason Derulo and Semi Precious Weapons had already performed.

WLFI-TV in Lafayette reported that a police officer took the stage after the opening acts and announced Gaga's illness to the sold-out crowd after paramedics arrived backstage and found the singer struggling to breathe.

Gaga tweeted about the incident, explaining to disappointed fans, "I've been crying for hours, I feel like I let my fans down 2nite. An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing."

She further explained that paramedics came to her aid and told her that she was suffering from an irregular heartbeat, "a result of exhaustion and dehydration." Gaga, 23, is in the midst of her Monster Ball Tour, which is slated to head over to Europe in early February after U.S. dates wrap on January 24 with a four-night stand at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

"[I] can't apologize enough for how sorry I am," she added. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage ... My stage has complicated mechanical elements, everyone was concerned I'd be in danger during the 2hr show, since I had passed out earlier. I am so devastated. I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort ... I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters [fans] more than anything, you are everything to me."

The appearance has been rescheduled for January 26. A spokesperson for the singer was not available for additional comment at press time. Gaga will appear on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" on Friday (January 15) in a pre-taped segment.

Adam Lambert Shows Off His Many Sides In 'Whataya Want From Me' Video

Just-released clip paints 'American Idol' runner-up as an emotionally raw and exhausted man.

It's not easy being Adam Lambert.

That seems to be the message behind the music video for Lambert's "Whataya Want From Me," which premiered on VH1 on Friday morning (January 15).

The brand-new clip showcases the glam rocker in a sparse industrial apartment. But instead of the "glittery alien from Planet Fierce" persona we've come to expect from the showman, we're seeing an emotionally raw and exhausted man, uncomfortable in a cold, new-looking home and torn between the different roles he's forced to play in his very public life.

The various "Adams" are all represented in the video, and the one thing they share in common is that they're all miserable. There's slick-artist-in-a-tailored-suit Adam, happy in front of the paparazzi but depressed once the limo door shuts. We also meet plain-James Adam, clad in a simple black T-shirt and jeans, who spends his time lounging on a couch and crying. Of course, there's also rock-star Adam, who pops up with his band to sing the chorus of the song.

Which "Adam" persona is the real deal? The "Whataya Want From Me" video suggests that all of them are. Lambert's a lonely emo kid, a frustrated superstar, a glam-rock glitter addict and a guy who orders Chinese takeout when he's depressed, just like the rest of us. He can be all those things, so don't try to pinpoint him as just one thing.

At first glance, one could interpret this video as Adam's "fame isn't all it's cracked up to be" statement (see: Britney Spears' "Everytime" clip). Although most of the video takes place in a private apartment, Adam is always reacting to the ever-present camera that lingers, harasses and, at one point, slams the door on him. Adam's relationship with the intrusive camera runs the gamut from trying to ignore it to getting violent with it. Sometimes he wants it to be close; other times he's giving it death stares from across the room.

So what does the camera represent?

Is it the point of view of his lover, upset with Adam's newfound fame and the baggage that comes along with it? Maybe. Or perhaps the camera represents his fans. Adam's relationship with his obsessive fanbase is complicated, particularly after Adam recently tweeted begging his followers for a little privacy.

A case could be made that the camera represents everyone — his fans, his lovers, even his detractors. Early in the video, Adam cradles a television remote, which could either be a wink to his reality-show past or a nod to the controversy that surrounded his American Music Awards performance. The suit that "angry artist" Adam wears later in the video looks an awful lot like the outfit he wore on the red carpet of the AMAs, just hours before he became defensive and lashed out at ABC for censoring his awards-show debut.

Lambert performed "Whataya Want From Me" (co-written by Pink and Max Martin) during his post-AMA media blitz. The song's chorus — in which he's literally asking the listener what they want from him and begs them not to give up on him — seemed all the more poignant coming from a star in the midst of a public firestorm. One can't help but think that veteran music-video director Diane Martel (also responsible for videos from "Idol" alums Clay Aiken and Jennifer Hudson) was at least partially inspired by Lambert's complicated situation.

In the emotional video's final moments, the camera returns to find Adam Lambert sitting up in the bed he hasn't made. He's relieved that the camera/ his lover/ his fans/ the attention of the world took the song's meaning to heart. Despite all the drama, we haven't given up on him. In fact, we're happy to get back in bed with him.

Jimmy Kimmel Slams Jay Leno -- On Leno's Show

Leno keeps a stiff upper lip throughout scathing exchange.

Rumors are flying around the ongoing shake-up in NBC's late-night schedule, but there are only a few things we know for sure: Jay Leno definitely won't have a show at 10 p.m. once the Olympics wrap up, Conan O'Brien refuses to do "The Tonight Show" at 12:05 a.m. and both of them have been at their funniest in the face of adversity.

Not only have the two comedians been sniping at each other, but they've also welcomed outside involvement from other late-night hosts. On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel spent the first part of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" doing a prolonged and scathing Leno impression. On Thursday night, Leno welcomed Kimmel to "The Jay Leno Show" via Leno's "10 @ 10" segment, wherein a celebrity answers 10 questions via satellite. And even though they were on Leno's home turf, Kimmel didn't pull any punches.

"What's the secret to a good Jay Leno impression?" the host asked Kimmel during the segment.

"Well, I don't like to give away my secrets," Kimmel said. "But it's a combination of Sylvester the Cat, Curly from 'The Three Stooges' and Scrappy-Doo."

Kimmel admitted that the Leno impression was his idea and didn't come from his writers. Later, when asked what his dream interview would be, Kimmel said, "It would be you and Conan at the same time, because I have a lot of questions for you."

But the most scathing moment came when Leno asked Kimmel what his favorite prank was. "I told a guy that five years from now, I'm going to give you my show, and then I gave it to him and took it back almost instantly," Kimmel said, drawing groans and horrified laughter from Leno's audience. "I think he works at Fox or something now."

At that point, Kimmel was rolling. "Ever order anything off the TV?" Leno asked.

"You mean the way NBC ordered your show off the TV?" Kimmel replied. When asked about strippers, Kimmel said, "I don't like strippers because you have a phony relationship with them for money. Sort of like the way you and Conan were on 'The Tonight Show' together passing the torch? You know what I'm saying."

Leno kept a stiff upper lip throughout the appearance and played along as Kimmel kept nailing him. It ended with Kimmel getting in one last shot.

"Listen Jay, Conan and I have children," he said. "All you have to take care of is cars. We have lives to lead here. You have $800 million. For God's sake, leave our shows alone!"

Nick Jonas Is Cramming For Critics' Choice House-Band Gig

On Friday night (January 14), Nick Jonas & the Administration are taking their act to prime time as the Critics' Choice Movie Awards house band. While he's used to playing some covers while on tour, Jonas admitted that learning the show's lengthy playlist has been a bit daunting.

"It's kind of hard to believe it's coming up so quickly," he told MTV News about the gig. "There's a lot of songs that I have to learn still, but I'm looking forward to it. It's an honor to be a part of that show, and knowing that I'm going to be playing it with the band is comforting, considering they are very experienced and they've got a pretty good grip on what they're doing."

Nick and the boys already performed at the Grammy nominations concert in December, where they played the title track from their debut, Who I Am, but at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, the guys will be on hand all night pumping out the hits.

"[The producers of the show and I] work together on this one to come up with a list of songs that I feel comfortable with and that they were comfortable with as well," Jonas explained. "It's a big list, but it should be good to see it all come together."

Nick is secretly looking forward to Sunday's Golden Globes, where Ricky Gervais will be hosting, because his favorite movie of 2009 isn't in the running for a Critics' Choice Movie Award. " 'The Invention of Lying' was my favorite movie from this past year," he said of the Gervais-starring comedy. "I think that Ricky Gervais is hilarious, and that kind of dry comedy in that film is something that I love."

The Critics' Choice Movie Awards air Friday at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.

Wyclef Jean's Yele Organization Raises $1 Million In Aid For Haiti

So far, Wyclef Jean's nonprofit organization, Yele Haiti, has raised over $1 million for the victims of Tuesday's devastating earthquake from mobile donations alone. With a series of urgent tweets, an appearance on CNN and the help of his famous friends the singer has mobilized a massive effort on behalf of his homeland, imploring followers to text "Yele" to 501501 to donate $5 to the effort.

According to Albe Angel, CEO of Miami-based Give on the Go, the mobile-communications company working with Yele Haiti to coordinate donations, the organization has raised over $1 million for relief efforts since the earthquake. Yele's goal is to up that figure to $1 million a day as part of the SMS fundraising drive.

"Since the disaster occurred around 5 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday and [by] midnight [Wednesday] we cleared $1 million," said Angel, whose company provides the technology that allows mobile users to make an automatic $5 donation. Give on the Go has announced that 100 percent of the donations raised will go directly to Yele Haiti. More than 200,000 people have donated to the cause, and Angel said he thinks it's possible that the $1 million-per-day goal could be reached, given the volume of donations that have been coming in. "These types of donations really were spawned by the [2004] tsunami relief effort, and the $1 million that Yele has raised already is a watershed event."

Wyclef is not the only celebrity who has stepped up to aid the cause. The Jolie-Pitt Foundation, founded by Angelina Jolie and partner Brad Pitt, has pledged $1 million to the emergency medical operations of Doctors Without Borders.

"It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades," Jolie said in a statement on Wednesday.

Relief efforts have spawned Facebook and Twitter users to take action, and a number of other celebrities have joined in the fight to send urgently needed supplies to the impoverished Caribbean nation, including Alyssa Milano, Olivia Wilde, LL Cool J, Jessica Alba, Demi Moore and Joel and Benji Madden.

On Thursday, President Obama pledged $100 million in aid from the U.S. The United Nations also announced that $10 million would go to relief efforts in Haiti, while the World Bank pledged $100 million.

Jay-Z Talks Eminem, Movies, 'Mind-Blowing' Meeting With Obama

The MC sits down with Interview magazine to discuss film influences, meeting with presidents and more.

It's been said that Jay-Z paints pictures with his rhymes, so after delivering one of the most visual albums of his career with The Blueprint 3, Hov sat down to talk to noted film critic Elvis Mitchell in the new issue of Interview magazine. The Roc Nation superstar graces the cover of the February issue in a story titled "Jay-Z: Made in the U.S.A."

The Brooklyn lyricist was as witty as ever in a long-ranging interview that touched on his movie influences, the trappings of Eminem's and Kanye West's fame and having pals in the Oval Office.

"For me, being with [President Barack] Obama or having dinner with Bill Clinton ... it's just crazy. It's mind-blowing, because where I come from is just another world. We were just ignored by politicians — by America in general," Jay explained.

Interview, co-founded in the late '60s by Andy Warhol, is known for its eclectic pairing of interviewers and interviewees. Mitchell, a former New York Times film critic, has had a successful career as a movie commentator and hosts the radio show "The Treatment," covering pop-culture and film. Mitchell was also a producer for "The Black List," the HBO documentary that examined race and culture among a diverse cast of African-Americans.

The rapper spoke with Mitchell about his enduring run as a top MC. Through a film analogy, he discussed the Robert De Niro film "Once Upon a Time in America" — when Jay was younger, the actor's character was a favorite of his, but in watching it as an adult he was unsettled by the portrayal. "Rap, for me, is like making movies, telling stories and getting the emotions of the song through in just as deep a way," he explained.

The conversation also turned to the rise of the rapper as a prominent pop figure in America. Jay related an anecdote about recording with Eminem and having Em show up to the studio in a bulletproof vest. He remarked on how intense Slim Shady's fame had become, to the point where paranoia set in.

"I never even told him this, but I remember that Eminem came into the studio when we made 'Moment of Clarity,' which he produced, on The Black Album," Jay said. "So here's Eminem. It's 2003, I think The Eminem Show had come out, and he was, like, the biggest rapper in the world — he sold, like, 20 million records worldwide or some ridiculous number. But when he came to the studio, I remember I hugged him and I could feel that he had on a bulletproof vest. I couldn't imagine being that successful. I mean, he's a guy who loves rap and wanted to be successful his whole career. Then he finally gets it, and there's this dark cloud over him."

The "Empire State of Mind" MC also defended his protégé Kanye West once again over the producer's 2009 VMA stunt in which he interrupted Taylor Swift.

"I just think the timing of what he did was wrong and that, of course, overshadowed everything. He believed that [Beyoncé's] 'Single Ladies' was a better video. I believed that. I think a lot of people believed that. You can't give someone Video of the Year if they don't win Best Female Video. I thought Best Female Video was something you won on the way to Video of the Year."

Paula Abdul Is Missed On 'American Idol,' Fans Say

Two episodes of the ninth season of "American Idol" are already in the books, and while the narrative about it being Simon Cowell's final season has yet to really emerge, there is one story line that has been front and center: the absence of original "Idol" judge Paula Abdul.

Wednesday on the MTV Newsroom blog, we asked readers whether they really missed Abdul's presence on the show. Based on the comments and tweets we received, it's clear that there is an Abdul-shaped hole in the hearts of even the most hard-core "Idol" fans.

"Paula brought beauty, grace and life to 'Idol,' " reader Roy wrote. " 'Idol' will be on the downslide unless they can find a way to replace all of the energy and enthusiasm Paula generated. She's still a great dancer, by the way."

Reader GMama agreed, adding that she doesn't believe new judge Ellen DeGeneres will be able to fill Paula's shoes: "It is not as good without Paula and I have quit watching the show. I like Ellen just fine, but not for this show. If Simon is really leaving the show, they should just stop the show altogether!"

Indeed, several people already assume Abdul will end up on Simon Cowell's new show "The X Factor" and they are looking forward to their reunion when that show airs in 2011.

"They should let that Kara chick go and keep Paula," reader Chermily wrote. "But it's their loss, 'cause I can't wait for 'The X Factor,' with Paula and Simon together again!" On Twitter, clare0807 echoed that sentiment. "Paula is definitely missed," she wrote. "I can't wait until she returns for 'X Factor.' "

Pras Helping Haitian Consulate In New York With Relief Efforts

'What I'm doing, mobilizing up here — what we're doing is a joint effort,' he says of his combined efforts with Wyclef.

While Wyclef has dispatched to Haiti to help his countrymen with aid, his former Fugees bandmate Pras has chosen to hold the home fort down via New York's Haitian Consulate.

The "Ghetto Superstar" lyricist is among the many Haitian-Americans in the Tri-State Area who have ventured to the local consulate to volunteer.

"We've been through a lot," Pras told MTV News on Thursday (January 14). "But I'm confident with what Wyclef is doing in Haiti — I mean, he got on a plane the following day. He's going guerrilla-style. What I'm doing, mobilizing up here — what we're doing is a joint effort."

Pras is urging assistance in the form of supplies in the immediate term, whether it be water, food or clothing.

The Brooklyn native has been overwhelmed by the support pledged by President Barack Obama and the individual donations from citizens across the country.

"America has been so gracious," he said. "We've been going through our own economic crisis and people still find money to donate to Haiti."

In the long term, however, Pras hoped all the money and supplies being donated actually make it to his native country. He cited past issues with the government where aid had not been distributed fully to residents of the island. He said an independent watchdog organization should be launched to coordinate the financial efforts of the Red Cross, Yele and Care.org.

"When the dust settles, Haiti just went back to the Ice Age," he said, citing the damage to hospitals, schools and homes.

Molaine Milfert, the communautaire at the Haitian Consulate in New York, echoed Pras' point.

"Our headquarters in Haiti was flattened out," she explained. "We lost six employees [at that location]. So it's very difficult to contact any of the executive staff over there. But we are working on our own. We're working with whatever source to provide information, help people get the aid they need and the help they need in Haiti. We have a team of health-care professionals being coordinated. We're being assisted by Jet Blue and they can start transporting groups of doctors and nurses, up to 30 of them, on Friday and Saturday.

"What just happened activated the community part of the consulate," she added.
