T.I. is finally rolling out those additional songs for the re-release of Paper Trail. On Wednesday, a record called "Don't Forget" hit the Net via the New Music Cartel, and Thursday (May 14), Atlantic Records confirmed the song is the first of Tip's new singles.

"Don't Forget" is a goodbye-for-now anthem with Mary J. Blige on the hook. "Don't forget to remember me," Mary sings on the chorus. "Please keep me in your heart/ If we ever have to part." Tip lets everyone know that he is just "gone momentarily" and not to "bury" him.

"N---as jumped up, cheered when I got my time," he raps. "Like, 'Yeah. One more year I got to grind'/ But get me losing off your mind/ May I remind you/ Ain't a another n---a that been through what I been through.

"It's on when I get back, don't forget that," Tip added.

The King of the South and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul are set to shoot the video for the new song at an undisclosed location. In previous interviews, Tip mentioned he was planning a collaboration with Fall Out Boy that was supposed to be on the original version of Paper Trail, and a possible remix of "On Top of the World" where he would include a Kanye West verse that was scrapped from the original version. Tip and Kanye recorded the song before Ludacris jumped on.

T.I. was in New York earlier this week where he spoke at an anti-gun rally with Al Sharpton and Ja Rule.

"When I get back — 'cause I will be back — you'll see me standing stronger, wiser and richer," he told the crowd about his impending jail sentence.

Danny Gokey Wants To Start A Musical 'Movement' After 'American Idol'

He predicts finale between Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will be 'a very tight race.'

Danny Gokey has been a pretty big punching bag on this season of "American Idol." But despite his detractors, the 28-year-old from Milwaukee made it to the top three and was expected to coast to the finale.

After Tuesday's performance, however, Gokey was sent home, leaving Adam Lambert and Kris Allen to duke it out in next week's finale.

We caught up with the latest castoff on Thursday (May 14) to talk about the scream heard 'round the world, Simon Cowell's blatant lobbying for Lambert and his future in the eyeglass industry.

Q: Do you think your much-discussed scream at the end of "Dream On" last week might have been the beginning of the end of your time on the show?

A: Who knows? I was actually thinking about that this morning. I was like, "Man, maybe that was the downfall." Because the week before, I had a really good performance. I guess I just really wanted to have a big song that week, so I took a risk. I never really did rock. I think it could have been one of the variables. Being so late in the competition, you don't want to have a performance like that. The thing is, everything in that performance was good up to that point. I rehearsed that scream so much that I really hurt my vocal cords. It takes a lot to hurt 'em, and that one did it, because I was sore. ... It was funny, though.

Q: How do you think next week's finale will play out?

A: Kris, obviously he's really artistic. And Adam has a way of capturing the audience. ... I'm gonna say it like this: People need to vote. Don't automatically assume someone's going to win. Don't have your assumptions. If you want a certain person to win, you gotta vote. This competition is not over yet. This is gonna be a very tight race.

Q: Do you think, at this point, it's required to rearrange your songs every week?

A: I really do. I think you have to change up every song. ... At this point, it's more than singing. People want to see a creative element. They want to see an old song made fresh again. ... You can't go on singing the same arrangement of an old song. You'll get bashed. [Laughs.]

Q: Did you feel extra pressure as an early front-runner on the show?

A: Absolutely. I felt like I had so much on me in the beginning of the show, that I had to outdo myself every week. It was a battle for me on the show, just internally. I was still growing as a musician. I thought at times that I just wasn't there yet. I don't think the show ever works out for front-runners, since there's so much expectancy on one person. But then you see another person where there's no expectancy on them, they'll show up and they can just wow the crowds because people just weren't expecting it. When you come and you have expectation for something and it doesn't work out the way you wanted it, you get disappointed.

Q: When Kris was the first person to be told he was safe, did you have a feeling you would be going home?

A: I knew it was it for me. I was very confident in the fact that it was it for me. Actually, all day I thought it was it for me. Did I want it to be it for me? No. I wanted to go for the gold, just like they did, and it didn't work out that way. The thing is, I'm a competitor by nature. I like to compete. I gave it what I gave it. Looking back, would I have done things different? Absolutely. But the one thing I can say is, I'm proud of my accomplishments, coming from losing my wife 10 months ago to where I am today. It wasn't just a show I was in. I was battling different things. Not only in this competition did I keep my head up, but I also had to deal with that whole end of the spectrum, losing my wife. I saw strength in me that I didn't know I had.

Q: Did it bother you at all that Simon so openly lobbied for Adam on Tuesday?

A: It is what it is. It doesn't make me mad. It doesn't disappoint me. That's what [Simon] believes is going to make the most money. Take what I say with a grain of salt ... but I didn't get into this thing for the money. I didn't get into this so I can live this glamorous lifestyle. Does that come with this career? It will. But my goal is so different and maybe didn't line up with the goals of what they see as a pop star. I'm OK with that. I want to have a movement with my music. My vision is a little different, so it's OK with me. The thing is, I love Simon. I can't hate on him. The guy is bad to the bone. [Laughs.]

Q: You showcased quite a few pairs of glasses on the show. Did you keep accumulating them throughout the season?

A: I started in the beginning of the season with 15, and now, I [have] about 50 or more. Being on "American Idol," the blessings of glasses have rained from the sky. I really would like to start a Danny line or a Gokey line of eyeglasses.

Q: Were you surprised that Allison Iraheta went home during rock week and you didn't?

A: The whole amount of the show, I was surprised I kept going. She is a rocker. As everyone in the world can see, I am not a rocker. I think it also goes to show that I have pretty strong support out there. It affirms me as an artist. I'm pretty confident when I put out a CD that hopefully that will still shine through.

Q: What kind of music do you see yourself making?

A: I really want to do a soulful album, but I want to mix it with nice beats, like nice R&B beats, beats that get people's heads moving, and mix it with a hint of a Latin vibe. I was with my wife for 12 years, she was Puerto Rican, and I'm so into salsa and merengue, and I want to mix it in one arena.

Q: Did you hear any rumblings backstage about how close the vote was this week?

A: I didn't really hear any rumors, but I just know that it was neck to neck. I believe it was, and that's all I can say. I really believe it was a neck-to-neck race — or I hope so. [Laughs.]

It was confirmed on Thursday (May 14) that Kristin Cavallari will be joining "The Hills" at the end of this season. Before the former "Laguna Beach" star broke the news to Entertainment Weekly, she already had supporters in the show's resident newlyweds, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

When MTV News caught up with Speidi at the Maxim Hot 100 party on Wednesday night, they said they couldn't be happier to have Cavallari join "The Hills" crew.

"There wouldn't be a 'Hills' if there wasn't a Kristin Cavallari, because the 'Laguna Beach' brand wouldn't have had the power," Spencer said. "We still love Lauren, we'd love to have you come back on the show. But hey, you were the calm, quiet girl trying to steal Kristin's boyfriend, the cool girl at the high school. So shout-out to the cool girl joining 'The Hills'!"

Heidi agreed, saying that having her matchmaker joining the "Hills" drama is certainly something she can look forward to. "We wouldn't be together if it weren't for Kristin. She introduced us," she said. "We love Kristin!"

Cavallari talked with EW about introducing the couple. "It's so funny," she said. "I guess it was four years ago. I was dating Brody [Jenner] and Spencer was Brody's best friend. I had known Heidi when she was friends with Lauren when we were still filming 'Laguna Beach.' Heidi was like, 'Hook me up with someone. I wanna meet a guy.' And Brody and I were kinda like, 'Well, maybe Spencer? We'll see what happens.' So we all went on a double date, and they just hit it off right away and now they're married."

DJ Khaled Is 'Gonna Celebrate The Wins' With Next Album

Miami mogul walks us through his blazing career, all the way to the upcoming LP Victory.
By Shaheem Reid

DJ Khaled talks a lot, and you have to admit: He hasn't sold too many wolf tickets. He gets your attention and runs with it. Last year, Jay-Z gave him his definitive career co-sign thus far by jumping on the remix of "Go Hard" from Khaled's third LP, We Global. Khaled says there are bigger things to come now that he's cooking up album number four, as well as keeping his name hot in the Def Jam building as an executive.

Behind the Beats: DJ Khaled

We know DJ Khaled for being so much more than a DJ. He's an exec and a promoter and he manages producers the Runners and the Inkredibles. All that and a dancer? Nah.

"I used to be the king of suicide flips, laying on your back, hurting the game," Khaled said as he sat on his tour bus talking to Ace Hood, pulling out of Miami.

Back when Khaled was much younger, he used to stay in North Carolina and go by the name of "Special K." As you might guess, though, Khaled's strongest hip-hop calling as a youngster was spinning wax.

"I used to collect vinyl — 'Rebel Without a Pause,' 'Peter Piper,' LL Cool J's 'Rock the Bells.' Tuff Crew, 'So damn tough! Rock on,' " said the man born Khaled Khaled. "I used to have one turntable, cutting it up. From there, it became a movement."

Khaled has the loudest movement in hip-hop. Nobody in the game knows how to verbally sell himself like the New Orleans native turned Miami Mayor. He talks in sound bites, he tells you everything he does is a "movie," and we here at Mixtape Daily haven't known the man to be a liar. His yearly birthday parties, known as "The Temple," have become legendary for all the celebrities he brings out, but that isn't anything compared to his albums. Jay-Z, Kanye West, T.I., Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel, Fat Joe, the Diplomats, Akon, T-Pain — they've all contributed to Khaled's three projects. He's a producer, but Khaled's calling is as an orchestrator. He knows how to put the right people together. He's made songs such as "Brown Paper Bag" and both versions of "I'm So Hood" summer-smash events.

"They're real and they got love, and they just musical geniuses. When Ace goes in the studio, he vibes on the beat, executes, and it comes out amazing," Khaled said about his favorite artists to work with. You notice how he started out with Ace Hood, the guy he signed as the lead artist from his We the Best Music Group — always pushing his product. "Lil Wayne, when thinking he's not thinking, he already has the whole verse ready to tear it down. T-Pain is amazing."

Island/ Def Jam Chairman L.A. Reid saw Khaled's impact and recently appointed him head of Def Jam South. Khaled is batting a G, acting as A&R for Rick Ross' Deeper Than Rap and coming up with the best hip-hop album of the year so far. Khaled wants to top that quality with Ace's upcoming Ruthless LP, Rick Ross' fourth album and Khaled's own upcoming project, Victory.

"I'm about to change the game up, because I'm gonna celebrate the wins," Khaled said about his success. "That's why I named it Victory. I always inspire people with my music — always."

Work Hours

Khaled clocks in at 10 a.m. and doesn't clock out until 6 a.m. He starts at his newly built office/studio for record-label business, goes to the radio station to host his show on 99 Jamz, and then heads back to his office/studio. "The hardest part of my day is when I wake up," he laughed. "It's just trying to do everything in a 24-hour clock."

Five-Star Stellar Khaled Hits

» "We Taking Over." "That changed my career," Khaled said. "The verse Lil Wayne put on there was a historical verse. They named Lil Wayne's verse the best verse of the year, I read a few places. Then you had Birdman introduce him [on his part]. Then you had Ross and Fat Joe, Akon, T.I.! The record's huge."

»"I'm So Hood." " 'I'm So Hood' repped Florida at its fullest," Khaled declared. "Trick Daddy, Ricky Ross and Plies! And the Runners and myself. That's the state of Florida. That record ended up being the biggest record of my life."

Hottest Streak Thus Far

From 2006 to present, when he dropped his debut album Listennn ... the Album (2006), We the Best (2007) and We Global (2008).

When Jay-Z hits the road this summer, he will be joined by "Love Sex Magic" singer Ciara. The singer says she can't wait to tour with the rapper, starting July 3 in Las Vegas.

"When they reached out to us to be a part of it, I was like, 'Absolutely,' " she told MTV News at the Maxim Hot 100 party. "I know more details are coming, so I don't know exactly every little thing."

What she does know is that the duo have five confirmed dates, and she says she's looking forward to hanging with Jay. "It's [going to be] something fun, and I think it's gonna be cool. I've kind of been in the rap settings before, so those are environments I love, 'cause it's somewhat of a challenge — but a fun one."

The challenge, Ciara explains, is mixing rap music with her pop-savvy R&B. "I love mixing the worlds together," she said, adding that after her work with Jay-Z is done, she'll be overseas with Britney Spears on her Circus tour, which she says is "all about the range."

Before talking to MTV News about the tour, Ciara let the cat out of the bag Monday night on her Twitter: "I will say it because the information has been leaked. Me and Jay-Z will be doing a 10-city tour run together! More details coming soon!" (A rep for Jay-Z told MTV News that the tour would not include 10 cities.)

Jay-Z and Ciara's five confirmed dates:

» 7/3 - Las Vegas, NV @ The Pearl at the Palms Casino
» 7/4 - Las Vegas, NV @ The Pearl at the Palms Casino
» 7/7 - Chicago, IL @ Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island
» 7/10 - Uncasville, CT @ Mohegan Sun Arena
» 7/12 - Atlanta, GA @ Chastain Park Amphitheatre

Eminem Producer Couldn't Believe MC Wanted 'We Made You' Beat

'I believed in that song, but I didn't know it would make it to where it did,' Doc Ish says.
By Jayson Rodriguez

When it comes time for Eminem to release an album, he always sticks to his tried-and-true formula. The first singles are comical celebrity takedowns, featuring Em's revved-up Slim Shady persona on a track produced by Dr. Dre (think "My Name Is," "Without Me" and "The Real Slim Shady").

On "We Made You," however, the lead single from Relapse, another beatsmith set the foundation for Eminem's return: Connecticut producer Doc Ish.

The Hartford native has worked with some of the underground's finest rappers, from AZ to Talib Kweli. But when he created the beat for "We Made You," he never imagined it would land in the hands of Marshall Mathers. He originally shopped the record — with the same hook, sung by Charmagne Tripp — to Red Café, before D12 member Bizarre picked it up.

But after writing his own version of "We Made You," Bizarre called Doc Ish with news that Eminem wanted the record. Because Bizarre is such a jokester, though, Doc didn't believe him. So he hung up on him.

"He called me at a bad time, so when he was like, 'Marshall wants the record,' I was like, 'Yeah, right,' " Doc told MTV News. "He was like, 'No, seriously, I'm not playing.' And Bizarre is a comical dude, so it's hard to know if he's playing or not. I didn't have time that day; I was busy mixing a record for Saigon. So I basically hung up on him. So he called me back with his cousin, Gambino, from Hartford, and he's who I know Biz through. And [Gambino] was like, 'Ish, he's for real, he's not playing.' So they put me in touch with [Eminem's] management. I was still like, 'OK,' 'cause Bizarre plays jokes on people. But within five minutes, his management called, and they said they wanted the song. I believed in that song, but I didn't know it would make it to where it did."

The song was picked up in November of last year, and the video premiered last month on MTV.

The accomplishment served as a testament to Doc Ish's perseverance. In 2004, the producer, who suffers from lupus, endured heart problems that he struggled with into the beginning of last year. Once he finally got a grasp on things, Doc — a former rapper, who had to give up rhyming because of a lack of breath control from his condition — turned to producing with fervor. He still remains a part of his group, the Abnormals, consisting of Apollo Swyf, Colloso and Belly. But nowadays, he keeps his rhymes limited to short bursts.

In the meantime, Doc is working on a compilation album, Arbitration, that he hopes to release later this year. He's negotiating a deal for the project, which includes tracks with Sean Price, Kool G Rap and Bizarre.

He also, of course, hopes to land a track on Eminem's Relapse follow-up, due later this year.

Green Day Break Down 21st Century Breakdown

'It's like giving your emotions flesh and blood,' frontman Billie Joe Armstrong says of the characters on the album.

Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown is now on the racks (and in the download queues) of stores around the world. It's been nearly five years since there's been a new album from the guys — and the last time out, we were talking about American Idiot — so clearly, this is a big deal.

And, in celebration of that, we've spent all week rolling out our favorite moments from our Green Day archives. We've shown you the guys talking about the making of Breakdown and finding reasons to rage even in Barack Obama's America, and we've taken you back, to our first-ever interview with them (aboard their Book Mobile tour bus in 1994) and the 10th anniversary of their landmark Dookie album, in 2004.

To wrap up the week — and, as an aid to your listening — we're bringing you Green Day's guide to 21st Century Breakdown. It's the ins and outs of the story behind the album ... a tale of two polar-opposite protagonists — nihilistic Christian and idealistic Gloria — broken down into three acts ("Heroes and Cons," "Charlatans and Saints" and "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades") and stretching across the entire decade ... and beyond.

It's complex, to be sure. So let's take it step by step. First, those characters, who flit in and out of songs and make up the moral yin and yang of the Breakdown story.

"Gloria is sort of this torch-bearer. She's the person who's trying to hold on to her beliefs. Christian is sort of this nihilist. He wants to burn everything down," frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explained. "Fire gets brought up a lot in the record. And, like, in one aspect, it can be very purifying, and the other it can be reckless and damaging. And I think that's what they represent. I don't think there's a story, per se, between them, on the record — it's what they represent on the record. It's like giving your emotions flesh and blood."

Secondly, those acts — which, on the surface, might just seem like a bit of concept-album largesse, but actually came together after the album was already written — serve as a way of focusing the listener on the central themes that run throughout the album.

"When we were going through the lyrics, we rented a small studio down in Costa Mesa [California], and Billie was kind of taking us through the lyrics, and we were looking at things and really started to see a correlation that just naturally formed different sections," bassist Mike Dirnt explained. "Like, 'Heroes and Cons,' we all fight with our own demons and have our own heroes, and sometimes they're the same thing. 'Charlatans and Saints,' well, there's similar themes running through the record, and there are some that stand closer to each other, so, in that section, we have a song like 'East Jesus Nowhere.' "

And finally, though it might be far-reaching and long-playing, at its core, Breakdown is about a few simple themes — or, as the band call them, "passions." And those passions, by design or divine intervention, repeat themselves throughout the course of the album.

"And, all along, each one of these [acts] is bound by the same passions," Dirnt said. "The passion for knowing, or for challenging yourself, or for hope. And I think those threads sort of go through the entire album."

Eminem's Road To Relapse, Part 4: Encore And 50 Cent

Fif joins the Shady/Aftermath family just as the future of Em's career comes into question.
By Jayson Rodriguez

As the May 19 release of Eminem's long-awaited Relapse album approaches, MTV News is taking a deep dive into our extensive Eminem archives and examining each phase of the MC's storied career. Part one looked at his rise; part two at his initial stardom; part three at his feature-film debut in "8 Mile"; and here, in part four, we take a look at how his 50 Cent co-sign and the toned-down album Encore.

Even a quiet Eminem makes a lot of noise.

The rapper vowed to take time off beginning in 2003, after a hectic 12 months the year before. He took on double-duty as both an artist and an actor in 2002. So Em decided to follow in the footsteps of his mentor Dr. Dre and operate behind the scenes with plans to develop his Shady Records roster.

Enter 50 Cent.

The Eminem protégé exploded into the mainstream. After bulldozing his way through New York's mixtape circuit, the brash Queens rapper inked a deal with Shady Records and Aftermath Entertainment. 50 quickly demolished the chart-topping reign of Ja Rule with a series of vicious dis records and sealed the deal on his stardom with a record-breaking opening week for his major-label debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

The album was heralded by Eminem as a classic and he, as the biggest rapper in hip-hop, predicted Fif would soon be recognized as the hottest act in the game.

"Undoubtedly, 50 will be the hottest rapper next year," Em told MTV News on the set for "In Da Club," alongside Dr. Dre and 50.

"That's no doubt," Dre echoed.

Eminem's agenda would soon become full with a number of things throughout 2003. He signed to executive produce two posthumous Tupac albums, and he hit the studio hard to work on D12's sophomore album, D12 World. He also became heavily involved in 50's feud with Ja Rule, which soon turned into a full-fledged battle between the Shady/Aftermath camp and Murder Inc. Each dis grew more scathing, personal and crossed the point of decency a few times.

The Source and Eminem then went at it. The magazine's owners targeted the white rapper as an opportunist who was robbing hip-hop of its culture. The mag unearthed early recordings of a young Em freestyling and making disparaging remarks about African-American women. Rappers like Busta Rhymes came to Eminem's defense, and the Detroit lyricist lashed out at Source owner Ray Benzino in a series of chest-thumping mixtape tracks.

The beefs and battles weren't exactly how Em planned on spending his downtime. If 2003 was wobbly for the rapper, his 2004 and 2005 would soon knock him off balance. A number of personal problems soon enveloped the star. Kim, Em's on-and-off wife, was arrested in 2004 for drug possession. He released his next solo album, Encore, and the Secret Service looked into his President Bush protest song "Mosh," once again putting Em under heavy scrutiny.

Once Encore was finally released, the project sparked debate over how long the rapper would remain in the spotlight. The collection was toned-down compared to his previous efforts. There were songs that remained consistent with the hallmark numbers he recorded before, like the biting first single "Without Me" and "Mockingbird," an ode to his daughter.

But the closing number, "Encore/ Curtains Down," in which a lone gunshot can be heard, raised questions with many fans. Was Eminem killing off Slim Shady, the feisty persona that brought him fame and fortune? He repeatedly denied assertions that he was retiring.

Eminem hit the road in 2005 to support Encore with a heavyweight lineup for Anger Management 3, including 50 Cent and Lil Jon.

In early August, Eminem spoke with MTV News during an Anger Management stop in California. He began to show signs that his career was taking its toll, talking about his daughter and missing seeing her grow up.

"She'll be all right. Hailie's a little trooper," he said. "It's tough, 'cause one side of you wants to be on the road and be glad you're with your friends. I mean, my friends are basically part of my family. But my family family at home, it's tough to be away from them, and you want to be there when those things happen. Those are the moments you say, 'I should have been there.' "

Later that month, Em canceled the European leg of the tour due to what was reported as exhaustion. The next day, he was hospitalized for sleep-medication dependency. 50 Cent went on to finish out the Anger Management 3 Tour as the lone headliner.

In the next few months, Eminem entered rehab, reconciled with Kim once again and ended his 2005 with another #1 album, as the greatest-hits package Curtain Call: The Hits landed atop the charts.

Little did fans know that was the last they would see of Slim Shady for the next three years.

Rick Ross Says His Colombian Video Shoot Caused A Spontaneous Parade

'It was beautiful,' rapper says of filming clips for 'Rich Off Cocaine' and 'All I Really Want.'
By Shaheem Reid

If there were ever a place to make a video for a song called "Rich Off Cocaine," it's the home of infamous narcotics kingpin Pablo Escobar. Rick Ross just released a clip for "All I Really Want," which he shot in Medellin, Colombia, and the second video he filmed during his trip overseas is on the way. Avery Storm (Trilla's "Here I Am") guest-stars and sings on the hook.

"We flew Avery Storm out there," Ross said. "I originally planned on going in the hills, in the coca leaves, and shooting the 'Rich off Cocaine' video. But there's a lot of things going on right now, so they advised me it wasn't best to go. So we went to different places, some places we shouldn't have gone to, but everybody showed us so much love. We went to the 'hood, we caused a parade and all the kids came out. It was beautiful. I shout Colombia out. Y'all should visit it."

In the song, Ross raps about the money he got from being a cocaine cowboy, but he has an epiphany after seeing impoverished kids in Haiti.

"It's talking about taking a negative and making it a positive," he said. "Regardless of what you're doing to stay alive, when you do get to that next level, I feel we're obligated. When we know the struggle we come from, I feel it's not an option, I feel we're obligated to give back. That's what I was talking about in that record.

"I was talking about the finer things in life, but at the end of the record, I began to reflect," he continued. "I talk about the things that really mean a lot to you. You can spend $100,000 on a watch, lose it tomorrow, and you wouldn't shed a tear. But the things that really mean a lot to you is really life. I talk about being in Haiti, watching people starve, seeing the struggle, seeing the school system, looking at the kids and what they eat every day. I'm sitting there with an Audemars [Piguet] watch that I spent 80 grand on. It kind of makes you go, like, 'Damn, am I really going in the right direction?' That's just my conscience coming into play."

News broke Thursday (May 14) that Kristin Cavallari, former "Laguna Beach" star and Lauren Conrad's onetime mortal enemy, would be joining "The Hills" at the end of this season and coming on for the new season this fall. While Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have already shared their excitement for the change, fans aren't quite sure if they're ready for Cavallari to make her reality-TV return.

"I think she's cool," one fan, Megan, told MTV News. "I think she's prettier [than Lauren Conrad]. She makes it interesting. She's a bi---, and I like it."

Meanwhile, her buddy Nicole wasn't quite ready to join Team Cavallari: "I don't think that'd be a good idea. Lauren's better!"

Fans think Cavallari's spicy attitude will get more people tuning in to the show. "I think everyone will watch it because of the drama," Danielle said. "It'll be just like 'Laguna Beach.' "

One fan in particular can't wait for the drama that could erupt between Kristin and fellow drama queen Heidi. "Oh, my God! That's going to be amazing," Valeria said. "The conflict between her and Heidi! Maybe a friendship at first, but then they'll butt heads."

Fans also took to MTVNews.com to react to the news. One commenter, Hayleybop33, said, "I think the show will suck without Lauren. Heidi and Spencer are stupid, so there's no way I'll watch after this season, but I can't wait to see what MTV has Kristin do!!"

Babythugnasty wrote: "I think the next season will definitely be more drama filled, and let's be honest people, isn't that why we glue ourselves to the show in the first place?? ... The truth of the matter is, Kristin C is sure to make the show worth watching if for nothing else than to see a whole hell of a lot more drama ... kudos MTV."
