Even after their short-lived Twitter marriage, Nicki Minaj and Drake remain great friends. Drizzy was a surprise guest at the New Orleans stop of the Lil Wayne-headlined I Am Still Music Tour, and MTV News caught up with Young Money's Bonnie & Clyde backstage.

Rather than tend to our questions, Drizzy and Nicki decided to interview each other. Drake started off slow with his questioning, asking Nicki about her "peak moment" onstage.

"You want to know what, Drizzy? I really love busting out from underneath the floor doing 'Roman's Revenge,' " Nicki told MTV News — er, Drake. "When I say, 'I'll kick that ho, punt!' When I say, 'Bitch, if you ain't sh---in' then get off the pot,' we really connect."

The "Best I Ever Had" rapper did his journalistic due diligence with his follow-up question, asking Nicki when we could expect new music, while adding that he thought it would be "really exciting."

"Well, you know, Drizzy, I have been keeping everything sort of stored inside of me," Nicki said. "So I'm just in complete tour mode. Yeah, I've been getting a lot of requests to do some features, but if I can't give myself wholeheartedly, I always pass. I definitely never want to be just doing too many features that they start getting watered-down and I'm not giving my whole, true self."

Nicki said she would focus on recording new material after she's finished with Britney Spears' upcoming Femme Fatale tour. One exception the "Moment 4 Life" MC will make to her limited recording is if any of her YMCMB crew come calling.

Drake then asked Nicki if she would be on his forthcoming sophomore album, Take Care, to which she playfully said she would pencil him in.

It was then Nicki's turn as interviewer, and her first question for Drake was what it was like to be back with his Young Money family after touring the U.K. earlier this year. "I truly enjoy these moments," Drake answered. "Especially being in New Orleans. Actually, New Orleans was the first place that I ever really realized that my music was getting out there. I remember walking outside the W [hotel], and there was a guy out there selling mixtapes and he had So Far Gone. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't even mad. You usually think you'll be mad when there's a bootlegger, but I was super excited."

Nicki then asked Drake about the beard-and-curly-hair look he's been rocking lately, and he revealed that it was for a film role. In January, it was reported that the former "Degrassi: The Next Generation" star was joining the cast of "Arbitrage," which is set to star Susan Sarandon and Al Pacino. However, Drake relayed that he has "decided to work on my album instead of doing that particular film."

Seems like Take Care may be arriving sooner than later.

Kendra Wilkinson Has A 'Boxer's State Of Mind' On 'Dancing With The Stars'

'I want to fight, but ... I have to realize that it's a dance,' she tells MTV News.

Kendra Wilkinson and her "Dancing With the Stars" partner Louis Van Amstel told MTV News they were working on a "fun" foxtrot for this week, and judging by their performance and the audience reactions, it looks like they succeeded.

Wilkinson also told us that the "fun" aspect of the competition can be the most challenging — especially on performance nights.

"Monday nights are nerve-racking for me," she said. "I am giving it my all, though ... but I can't help but be nervous.

"The anticipation of going into the dance is the worst," Wilkinson continued. "I'm a boxer when it comes to that. I have a boxer's state of mind. I'm going into it like a fight, almost," she explained of her self-imposed intensity. "I want to win, I want to fight, but it's not that. I have to realize that it's a dance. I have to remain calm and relaxed. That's what I'm trying to work on: not going into it like a fight, looking at it like a dance."

But Van Amstel pointed out that his partner's intensity and commitment make for an excellent student.

"I think from all the celebrities, the one who picks it up the fastest is Kendra," he said. "It is purely the anticipation [on] show day, really psyching herself out, like a boxer does. Your opponent needs to go down," he said of trying to help soothe tough mentality, "but in the end, it's only us on the dance floor."

"I really thought last week we were going to be gone, but we have such an amazing fanbase that they voted us through," Wilkinson said of her fans. "And I'm just so happy."

Do you think Kendra and Louis have what it takes to stick around for another week? Tell us in the comments!

Alchemist Promises Curren$y <i>Covert Coup</i> Will Leave You 'High'

Mixtape Daily: Behind the Beats

The Alchemist has plenty of sonic concoctions on tap for 2011. One of the esteemed hip-hop producer's latest projects is New Orleans rapper Curren$y's Covert Coup mixtape. And while Alc is used to dropping projects that are strictly for sale, the Coup tape is a free release.

Chalk it up as a small price to pay for working with an ambitious MC like Spitta.

"He got his own zone," Alchemist told Mixtape Daily of Curren$y. "I hadn't worked with him before that but when he worked, he works quick. Same way I work, too, which is good because we were able to knock out a couple of joints the first day and decide where it could go. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't want to make anything that was like [what] he had done before or I didn't want to go too far and make some different sh-- either. Let's just make some fly sh--.

The two artists, who met a few years back when Alchemist was working on his Chemical Warfare album, have an in-studio rapport.

"Obviously, I guess it would be redundant to say we were smoking weed, we made the music very high," Alchemist admitted with a laugh. "It definitely is the audio equivalent of that; you'll definitely feel high after you listen to it. I had a lot of fun doing it, man. He ain't really restricted with his music as far as how he created, he's real loose, that's how I like to be too."

For now, Alc is nixing any rumors that he had a label deal through Shady Records, although he's still Eminem's tour DJ. And recent Shady Records signees Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse were sent some Alchemist beats for consideration. And that's not all. The Hollywood-bred producer has a busy year of projects ahead of him. He's contributing beats to Evidence's new album and working on their joint project, Step Brothers.

A new Gangrene album is also on the way via Decon Records. Dropping April 20 is Covert Coup, which Curren$y told us was created over a few studio sessions since both Alc and Spitta were adamant about not creating an album by emailing MP3s back and forth. The album is free but they'll be selling T-shirts via Diamond Supply Co.

"It's an experiment for me, too, to put out an album like this, I usually put it out for sale," Alchemist said. "We're planting the seed for maybe a future one for real. I'm trying to get my weight up and see if I can move some shirts. That'll be my SoundScan first."

On Roc Marciano's upcoming album: "I'm working with Roc Marcy right now and that sh-- is just, he is just, oh my ... That's like my favorite sh-- in my iTunes, right now. He came out to L.A. a couple of times and we're like six to eight joints deep. We're going to work on a side project eventually but in the meantime anything I can do to help his new album. He got crazy sh--. Anyways, we came together and he just inspires me to make music. His rhymes are on another level, where his deliveries at he's just so comfortable right now. I'm real hype about the stuff I'm doing with him. Roc is incredible, his rhyme flow, the words he chooses, he's just on another level. The next album he's coming out on Decon and I know Tip is helping out. I'm glad I'm helping with that too."

On a new Mobb Deep release: "We got some things in order; when the time is right I'm sure it will be out there. But definitely some plans for this new Mobb music. We're so deep with music already. Basically, we're focusing on making the Mobb Deep album first. There's records already, like, 'Yeah this is Mobb Deep,' or, 'This is P's solo or whatever.' Just planning it out and making sure that the first move is Mobb Deep's best foot forward."

On a sequel to Return of the Mac with Prodigy: "Yeah! We gotta do that sh--. Oh man, it's so many opportunities now, man! It's definitely exciting man."

Paul McDonald: Even Grandma Asked Me About Dating 'Twilight' Star

Last week, Paul McDonald was sent packing from "American Idol." This week, he's opening up about his life on the show — saying he wasn't "comfortable" doing covers — and, somewhat reluctantly, discussing his life off of it.

Specifically, his relationship with "Twilight" star Nikki Reed, which has become the subject of endless media attention in recent weeks, and has only reached its peak now that McDonald's off "Idol."

And while he's not opposed to talking about Reed, McDonald told MTV News that he'll probably never get used to doing so; the same goes for all of the attention the couple have been garnering, for that matter.

"I mean, you can't really get used to that, you know? It's funny how, like, your personal life becomes such a crazy new thing," he said. "I guess I kind of realized it when I talked to my grandma on the phone, she was like, 'Who's this new girl you're dating?' And I'm like, 'How do you know about this, Grandma?' And she's like, 'I got a magazine at the grocery store!' I was like 'Oh gosh, it's started.' I haven't really gotten used to that ... you can't really get used to that stuff."

Still, he realizes that dealing with media attention is just part of his newfound fame; so, no, McDonald isn't planning on shutting down any particularly salacious interviewers any time soon, but he's also not going to pay attention to what they say if he does.

"I don't really get involved in the whole thing, you know? I don't read too much stuff online. I get nervous because I don't want to see what people are saying about me. So, I'm just doing my thing," he smiled. "We're good, we're really good. She's a sweet, nice lady, and she's been supportive through all this stuff."

Daniel Radcliffe Admires Lady Gaga's 'Outspoken' Gay Rights Advocacy

"Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe has been one of the most active celebrities showing their support for the LGBT community, and his continued efforts on behalf of the Trevor Project has earned him a Hero Award. MTV News caught up with Radcliffe recently and talk turned to his affiliation with the gay rights/ civil liberties causes, so we asked if he'd ever come into contact with another passionate supporter: Lady Gaga. His response wasn't quite what was expected.

"No, never, although my mom and dad, bizarrely, went to her concert," Radcliffe said with a laugh. "Like, my parents at a Lady Gaga concert, which I just think is the coolest, oddest thing ... they're ahead of me on most things pop culture."

Although Radcliffe has never met the colorful pop star, he said her advocacy for the gay community is something he's happy to be associated with. Gaga memorably joined in the National Equality March at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. and vocalized her support for human rights at the 2009 and 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Radcliffe said he can relate to Gaga's style of advocacy, even if he thinks his more subdued form of campaigning works much better for him.

"She's very outspoken as well, and it's just about being who you were born as. It's wonderful that other people are coming out from all different spectrums," he said. "I mean, she has a slightly more flamboyant way of putting her point across than I would, and it suits her a lot better than it would me. But we're both aiming for the same thing. But, no, I've never met her."

Last year, we talked to Radcliffe about his relationship with the Trevor Project. He said, "It's something I've always been quite passionate about. Because I grew up around gay men, it was always a natural thing to me. It was never something I ever gave a second thought to."

The Trevor Project's help line is a free and confidential service that offers help 24/7. The trained counselors are always available at (866) 4-U-TREVOR (488-7386) or visit their website, TheTrevorProject.org.

Peter Facinelli 'Stoked' To Nab 'Idol' Castoff Paul McDonald For 'Loosies'

When he hasn't been busy with the box-office-dominating "Twilight" movies or Showtime's hit show "Nurse Jackie," Peter Facinelli has been working on a passion project, "Loosies," an independent film he wrote, produced and stars in.

In addition to enlisting a high-caliber crew of actors for the project, MTV News has exclusively learned that Facinelli has teamed up with a very special musician to contribute music to the film's soundtrack: recent "American Idol" castoff Paul McDonald.

We caught up with Facinelli on Monday (April 18) to get the scoop on his exciting collaboration.

"I was telling Nikki [Reed, McDonald's girlfriend and Facinelli's 'Twilight' co-star] I was looking for music for my movie, and she said, 'You should look through Paul's stuff,' " Facinelli recalled. "She was a big fan of his, I heard, and I thought it really worked for my movie, so I played some tracks over it, where we had temp tracks, and it just all worked. So I reached out to Paul, I sent him the movie, and he enjoyed it a lot, and he said he wanted to be a part of it, which I was stoked."

Facinelli added that McDonald's original music is really inspirational and fit well with what he was doing on "Loosies."

"He has a band, and his band stuff is very different then what he was doing on 'American Idol,' " Facinelli said. "I heard him on 'American Idol,' and I thought he was great, but when I heard the band, it's very distinct and has a voice of its own, and I like the originality of it," he explained. "So we'll probably use most of the music from the two albums he has out now on iTunes," which were recorded under the band names the Grand Magnolias and High Tide Blues.

"Loosies" revolves around a pickpocket in New York, caught up in a fast-paced, hustlin' lifestyle, until he is confronted by a woman with whom he had a one-night stand and is now pregnant. Facinelli is putting the finishing touches on the film before setting out to find distribution and hopefully a theatrical release.

Luther Campbell Says He'll Be A 'Fighter' In Miami Mayor Race

The ex-2 Live Crew rapper says his record-business experience 'is allowing me to be able to run for a public office like this.'

It's politics as usual for Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell. On April 12, the former 2 Live Crew frontman, along with 10 other candidates, formally applied to run for mayor of Florida's Miami-Dade County after a recall vote kicked then-mayor Carlos Alvarez out of office a month ago. MTV News caught up with the pioneering hip-hop artist and businessman to discuss his political ambitions.

Campbell said he planned on running for mayor of Miami in 2012, but that Alvarez's departure sped up his plans to "get off the bench and get in the game, get off the sideline." Campbell's platform includes economic development to revitalize small businesses, job creation, public safety and affordable housing, among other initiatives. While mainstream outlets with a superficial understanding of his career may dismiss him as just a former rapper trying to get into politics, Campbell insists his career has granted him just the right experience.

"Look at my history. When you talk about rapper, at the end of the day you can say 2 Live Crew, but who owned the company?" Campbell told MTV News. "I explain to people that I am a businessman, as a kid I DJ'd, and then owned that company, and then 2 Live Crew. I give them the story about it. I let people know I did that on the weekends. I wasn't able to go on long tours like Run-DMC and everybody because I had to run the business. I had to make hip-hop act] H-Town gold and platinum, I had to go and produce Pitbull and Trick Daddy and all these different artists. People just don't understand that the music business is a business. It is a global business. That experience is allowing me to be able to run for a public office like this."

Campbell claims that his Luke Records was the first black-owned hip-hop label, releasing music from 2 Live Crew, H-Town, Poison Clan and his own solo material. Campbell also was instrumental in launching the careers of Trick Daddy and Pitbull. In recent years, the "I Wanna Rock" rapper has dialed back on his "Uncle Luke" reputation. He starred in a VH1 reality series called "Luke's Parental Advisory" in 2008, and has performed community service and founded youth programs throughout Miami-Dade County for years. In the meanwhile, Miami has become a hotspot for the hip-hop world and the entertainment industry in general. Campbell had a hand in raising Miami's profile via his artists' videos and the groundwork he laid for the city's current crop of hip-hop talent, like Rick Ross and DJ Khaled. Along with being a Miami native, Campbell believes that he possesses a greater affinity for the needs of its residents.

"Right now the entertainment industry is a major economic boost for this city," Campbell said. "These are some of the things that I created and I did, and I'm proud of that. So when I look at where we need to go as a community, who best has the ideas? Me. Some other guy who really is just in there just to take money from contractors and special interest groups, he's in there to make money. I'm not in there to make money. I'm all right. I just want to make the haves and the have-nots all be able to participate in this beautiful city and get jobs and live comfortable."

What might not sit so well with Miami citizens, and what Campbell's opponents will be sure to point out, are the past controversies surrounding his music. One infamous case was in 1990, when the American Family Association went after 2 Live Crew over the sexually explicit lyrics of "Me So Horny." 2 Live Crew and Campbell defended themselves by citing their first-amendment rights to free speech and the case went all the way to the Supreme Court, where it was dismissed. Campbell defended his rights in court frequently, and being familiar with the justice system is another reason he believes he is qualified to run the affairs of his hometown.

"One thing people know about me, I'm a fighter," insisted Campbell, who listed Sonny Bono, Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger as examples of entertainers that became politicos. "Controversy comes with politics. All my controversy was based around politics. Tipper Gore came after me — that was politically motivated. When the vice president had something to say about us, when it's time for me to go to the Supreme Court, all of that is politically motivated. So I understand politics as is."

'Scream 4' Stars Pick Their Favorite Death Scenes

'What freaks me out the most with all the deaths is the sound effects,' Emma Roberts tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner

For those of you who didn't make it to the theater over the weekend to see "Scream 4," stop reading now — we don't want to spoil anything! For everyone else, MTV News thought it would be fun to find out the cast's favorite death scenes in the new slasher pic, along with some technical insight from director Wes Craven.

And because there are so many gruesome offings from which to choose, the results of our little poll are all over the map, despite some persuasive campaigning by Anthony Anderson.

"I think the one that freaked me out the most, her name is Marielle in real life — Marielle's death," Emma Roberts said, choosing the bloody demise of Marielle Jaffe's character, Olivia Morris. "It's one of the first, and she's the popular girl, but she gets massacred. Totally just done.

"That, to me, was the freakiest, because she's running around her room, and they keep stabbing her and stabbing her," she added. "I guess what freaks me out the most with all the deaths is the sound effects. When you're doing it, it's like a retractable knife and there's fake blood squirting out, but when you have that sound effect, it totally adds another level of horror to the scene."

Adam Brody's favorite death involved the special cameos from Kristen Bell and Anna Paquin.

"I thought that was one of the more surprising ones," he said, before pointing to his co-star Anthony Anderson. "And then he's got a fantastic, dragged-out [scene]."

"Yeah, I'm going to say the black guy's death in this movie is great," Anderson joked. "I'm not going to say who it is, though, but the black guy's death in this movie. NAACP Image Award contention. We're going to go beyond Oscar and Emmy and Golden Globe; we're going to go straight to the Image Awards."

When asked how many takes it took to get that one just right, Brody and Anderson joked that there was a lot of work to it.

"I think they really worked that scene," Anderson said. "They shot that from all kinds of angles."

"[There were] 30 cameras," Brody added.

"Yeah, 30 cameras," Anderson agreed, continuing the joke. "And some of it was the super slo-mo stuff, so yeah, the black guy."

Interestingly enough, when we mentioned Anderson's epic death scene to Craven, he revealed that the drawn-out aspect wasn't originally in the script but inspired by a real-life medical emergency.

"That wasn't in the script," Craven said. "I did it without announcing it to the studio. I was hoping that they didn't fire me the next day," he recalled with a chuckle.

"It was written that the killer just comes in and pins him to the seat," Craven explained. "I had seen this thing on television, this documentary about somebody being stabbed right through the head and they actually showed the X-ray ... and the guy walked into the emergency room, so I thought it would be extraordinary if somebody was stabbed in the head and still be alive for a while."

The fact that Anderson was campaigning for his death scene to be named the best won over co-star David Arquette. "I do love a good Anthony Anderson death scene," he laughed. "He was a little zombie-like. There was a moment of 'Night of the Living Dead' [in there]."

Khloe Kardashian Says She Isn't 'Desperate To Have A Baby'

'I would love a baby, but when it's natural,' she tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner

Although Kardashian fans have been given plenty of insight into the life of Khloé Kardashian via her antics on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and "Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami," her new show, "Khloé and Lamar," presents the 26-year-old in a new light, tackling the challenges involved in being a newlywed, the inevitable talk of expanding their family and having her brother as a roommate.

When MTV News caught up with Khloé recently, we asked if she's been caught up in talk of expanding her family.

"I think other people make starting to have a family a bigger focus then it is for us," she said. "I'm 26 and we've been married a year and a half, and I feel when it happens, it happens. Someone asked me if I'm desperate to have a baby — I'm not desperate to have a baby. I would love a baby, but when it's natural and when I feel like God wants it to happen. Is it something we talk about often? Yes, we talk about it a lot, we talk about baby names and this and that. We're just into that phase, but I'm not killing myself to have a baby."

The couple have, in a way, expanded their family already by adding Rob Kardashian into the mix as a roommate, which Khloé said has been a pleasure and a nuisance at times.

"The dynamic gets better as time goes on between Rob, Lamar and I. But at first, he had no boundaries. He was so excited to have a brother, he didn't know what to do," Khloé recalled. "And Lamar doesn't have any siblings, so for them both, they were genuinely so excited, but I was like, 'I am so over having siblings at the moment!' I just want Lamar and I time, and no one was getting it."

Still, frat-house antics aside, Khloé admitted that she likes having her younger brother around.

"Now it's getting better, and when Lamar is on the road, I do love having Rob there," she said. "Even though, God forbid, if anything were to happen [at the house], Robert would go cry and lock himself in his room, so I don't know what he would do for me, but having another person in the house does make you feel better."

Lady Gaga's <i>Born This Way</i> Cover: 'American Chopper' Star Weighs In

Paul Teutul Jr. tells MTV News he's puzzled by Gaga's motorcycle makeover.
By James Montgomery

When Lady Gaga unveiled the cover art for her much-anticipated Born This Way album over the weekend, even the most manic of Little Monsters seemed perplexed by her brand-new motorcycle makeover ... with some even going so far as to speculate that the cover was fake.

And if you think Gaga's fans are confused by the BTW cover, well, then you should hear Paul Teutul Jr.'s take on it. After all, he designs motorcycles for a living, first under his dad's tutelage at Orange County Choppers — made famous on Discovery Channel's "American Choppers" — and now with his own shop, Paul Jr. Designs. Turns out Junior's sort of at a loss when it comes to Gaga's new look.

"This chopper is very, kind of, uh, interesting. They kind of melted the motor around and stuff so it's hard to even see what they have ... they almost did a ribcage, kinda see-through in the tank. But none of it feels really smooth," he told MTV News. "The bike that it emulates the most is that 'Easy Rider' bike ... it has that king and queen seat, it's got the old-school exhaust, but I can't really tell what kind of bike it is."

Of course, aside from the assumed technical issues, Teutul Jr. said that he's most puzzled that the Born This Way album cover didn't go even further. Because, as he put it, what could be cooler than a full-fledged Gaga-cycle?

"Looking at it, I would've made it more of an integration of her into the bike. It would be more seamless. In other words, it would be her and the bike morphed," he said. "If you're Born This Way, then it almost has to look kind of mermaid-ish, in the sense that there's this fusion between the actual mechanical aspect and the human perspective. ... It's a little cut-and-paste looking. I would've done something even integrated throughout the bike that would've been more 'Lady Gaga.'

"How awesome would it have been if her entire body, like, her feet actually became the axle rod for the rear tire, and her body actually formed the entire bike? I mean, it could've been a more flowing, freakier look," he continued. "And that's what we do at Paul Jr. Designs. Our full integration isn't 'put a sticker on it.' Our full integration is we make that bike what the theme is intended to be. It's about pulling off the theme front-to-back."

And to that end, Teutul Jr. said that he'd love to work with Gaga on an actual motorcycle — it'd probably make for an interesting episode of his show, "American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior," which returns April 25 — because it would give him and his team a chance to do what they do best.

"I would get inside her head on the whole project, and really be able to pull off what it is, creatively, that she would want integrated into the bike," he said. "And for this tour, she could come out onstage and it could be a whole theatrical thing that ties around the actual album cover. I think it would be a great fit and we're both young and creative. It would be a great collaboration for sure."

Robert Pattinson Has 'Strength,' Says 'Water For Elephants' Director

'I was a little skeptical, because I only knew him from 'Twilight,' ' Francis Lawrence admits to MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Robert Pattinson has certainly been branching out from "Twilight." His latest venture outside the world of vampires who sparkle in the sun is the vintage romantic drama "Water for Elephants." He plays Jacob, a 20-something who quits veterinarian school after his parents die in a car accident. He accidentally joins a circus and, from there, discovers more about life and falling in love with the boss' lady, played by Reese Witherspoon, than he could have imagined.

Director Francis Lawrence, who recently wrapped up work on Beyoncé's new music video, said Pattinson possessed the qualities necessary for the part.

"I was a little skeptical, because I only knew him from 'Twilight,' and 'Twilight' was a very stylized movie and it was really hard to tell what he was capable of," he told MTV News at the flick's NYC premiere on Sunday. "But when I sat down with him, I judged him just based on who he is, and I thought, 'Wow, I could really use this guy, because this guy kind of is Jacob from the book.' He still has an innocence and there still is a purity to him. He's humble, even with all of this success. He's a man, but he's still a little uncomfortable in his own skin. He has strength, and you know he had all the things of this guy, and I thought, 'If I can just use who he is, we're set.' "

It wasn't just Lawrence who was excited about having Pattinson in the flick, but also Twilighters, who showed up on set hoping to catch a glimpse of the star.

"They were there every day, but I have to say, they were really respectful," he recalled. "They kept their distance; they stayed outside of the gate. ... We went to Tennessee, and we came to our first set, which was in the middle of nowhere. It was like pulling up to Woodstock. There was cars parked for miles for all of the Rob fans that were waiting. They had camped out at night [in] all of the ditches in the side of the road. We thought we were in the middle of nowhere and nobody knew where we were."

Beyonce's 'Girls' Video Will Be 'Big,' Director Says

Francis Lawrence confirmed to MTV News at the "Water for Elephants" premiere on Sunday that he had just wrapped up work on Beyoncé's new video. And the director promised that this clip will live up to the expectations that have been building since photos from the set began leaking.

"I just shot a Beyoncé video at the beginning of this last week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, which was fun, and I hadn't done a video since 2009," he said, referring to the VMA-winning video for Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."

Lawrence went on to confirm a few more details about the song, without giving away too much of anything, per B's orders. "The video's for the songs 'Girls'; it's off her new album," he said. "She would probably have me shot if I said anything. ... Some stuff spilled out, but she wasn't happy about it, so I've been sworn to secrecy."

What spilled was some looks from the video, as well as details that there will be lots of dancing in the clip. "It'll be big, it'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," he added. "And, I can say that I think the song is unbelievable."

The director noted that artists have definitely stepped up their video game in recent years and once again made visuals a vital part of their work. He gives some credit for that to Lady Gaga, as well as a number of Lawrence's past collaborators, like Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and the Black Eyed Peas.

"The Gaga thing took me by surprise, 'cause I've done videos for probably 15 years, and I had forgotten what it felt like to have a video premiere and have it be anticipated and have it explode," he explained. "And yeah I hope the same for Beyoncé, but I don't know if that's gonna happen. It is a fantastic song, so I really hope that song catches for her, and I think the video's gonna be really fun and cool and different for her."

'Scream 4': Why Didn't It Slay The Box Office?

Movie experts weigh in on why Ghostface didn't scare up impressive returns for the franchise.
By Eric Ditzian

Unlike Indiana Jones and John McClane, Ghostface has not aged particularly well. While Indy's franchise and McClane's "Die Hard" films took lengthy breaks from the multiplex and returned with impressive box-office debuts, "Scream 4" got off to a start that fell on the low end of projections.

The horror flick's $19.3 million debut on more than 4,400 screens was, in fact, a major fall from the previous installment in 2000, which Box Office Mojo points out was $52 million when adjusted for ticket-price inflation. While insiders were hardly expecting "Scream 4" to live up to the performance of the original trilogy, the movie nonetheless failed to widely reconnect with moviegoers.

So what happened? A combination of factors, according to industry experts, conspired to hold back the film and cast doubt on the idea that the Weinstein Company will be able to launch a fresh "Scream" trilogy.

"Part of the reason that 'Scream 4' didn't connect with audiences the way previous installments have is because of the overall climate change of horror films over the last decade," said Jeff Bock, box-office analyst for Exhibitor Relations. "Whereas grisly deaths, bloodbaths and torture porn were once the order of the day, creepy and spooky — 'Paranormal Activity,' 'Insidious' — seem to be what horror audiences die for these days."

What's more, it wasn't just a matter of failing to link up with horror-movie trends but with broader changes in the entertainment landscape. " 'Scream' was a pop-culture phenomenon of the late '90s and it lost its relevancy soon after," said Gitesh Pandya, editor of BoxOfficeGuru.com, pointing to that decade's often heavily ironic humor.

And then there's a matter of Ghostface himself, a recognizable killer, to be sure, but one who's by design changeable and thus potentially less iconic than other horror-movie villains. "The fact that Ghostface is a different person from movie to movie is both a good thing and a bad thing," said Phil Contrino, editor of BoxOffice.com. "It creates suspense, but it also stops the character from becoming as powerful as Freddy Krueger or Michael Myers."

To all these issues add in the generally weak critical assessment, and you've got a recipe for a perfectly fine box-office debut but one that's hardly impressive. While some insiders suspect the weak opening will dash plans to kick-start a new trilogy, others expect overseas ticket sales to compensate for subpar domestic business, increasing the likelihood of "Scream 5" shifting into production down the road.

"This could end up grossing $100 million worldwide, which may lead to another sequel or reboot despite its lackluster Stateside debut," Bock said. "Ghostface will likely terrorize audiences again, because the number-one rule for franchise fright flicks is: You can never keep a horror icon buried for long."

Tyga will join us on this Wednesday's special New West edition of MTV News' "RapFix Live." The Young Money rapper will not only chat it up with host Sway, but we'll have an in-depth look at some of the Cali rap acts that are making L.A. a go-to hip-hop destination once again. As always, we'll also be taking your questions!

Last year, the Compton, California, rapper caught an inadvertent hit when his Chris Brown collabo, "Deuces," from their joint mixtape, Fan of a Fan, burned up the airwaves, landing at #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Tyga and Brown went on to earn a Grammy nomination in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for the song he co-wrote, and he's now prepping his forthcoming album, Careless World.

Before connecting with the YMCMB, Tyga was already making a name for himself on the L.A. rap circuit. In 2008, he dropped his debut single, "Coconut Juice," which featured his cousin Travie McCoy. Soon Tyga became acquainted with Lil Wayne — the two appeared together on a remix to Fall Out Boy's "Arms Race" — and signed on with Young Money a year or so later. Tyga cemented his place in the crew by contributing to Young Money's hits "BedRock" and "Roger That."

Tyga is hoping to prove his patience will pay off as he's waited in the wings for fellow YMCMB teammates Drake and Nicki Minaj to launch their careers. The first singles from Careless World, "I'm On It," featuring Lil Wayne, and "Really Raw," featuring Snoop Dogg and Pharrell, have heads checking for the project's release. And earlier this year, Tyga revealed a Drake collaboration will be included on it too.

We've already spotlighted Nipsey Hussle and Casey Veggies and our New West coverage will continue on "RapFix Live" with closer looks at the movements of Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and School Boy Q) and Odd Future. Apart from the insight into the diverse underground rap sounds coming out of L.A., we'll also be examining its party and dance scene.

Find out what else is in store from Tyga and the rest of the YMCMB crew when he sits down for his interview on the "RapFix" couch. The "Deuces" rapper will be taking questions from the audience via Twitter, @MTVRapFix with the hashtag #rapfixlive. Fans can also upload video questions for Young Money's next star via Your.MTV.com. Tune in on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com.

Stick with us all week as MTV News turns the spotlight on the New West, including a special edition of "RapFix Live" with Cali's own Tyga on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. We're bringing you the next wave of hip-hop acts helping restore faith in the L.A. rap scene. From groups like Odd Future to rising MCs like Dom Kennedy, we'll bring you up close and personal to these artists as they carve their own lanes in the post-gangsta rap era. Keep it locked here for the next week for more on the West Coast up-and-comers!

Lady Gaga Reveals Surreal <i>Born This Way</i> Cover

The slow reveal of Lady Gaga's Born This Way continued over the weekend as Mother Monster pulled back the veil on the cover of her hotly anticipated album, which will be released on May 23. Although now, perhaps we should start calling her Motorcycle Mama, since the Nick Knight-conceived artwork for the LP that Gaga tweeted on Saturday shows the pop star transformed into a half-woman, half-motorcycle hybrid made of shining chrome and perfectly tousled blond hair.

Under gleaming, metallic-silver bubble letters spelling out the album title, Gaga's head serves as the handlebar accoutrement to a badass chopper, with her arms forming the front fork of the street machine. The entire image is in black and white except for the pop star's lips, which are colored a deep red.

The cover reveal came shortly after the leak of Born This Way's second single, "Judas." Though the tune isn't slated to drop until Tuesday, Capital FM in London played the RedOne-produced song on Friday afternoon.

The track finds Gaga in familiar territory, singing about a lover she knows might not be right for her, but whom she just can't resist. "Ohhh, I'm in love with Judas," she croons at the opening of the track, accompanied by building synths. Soon a thumping electronic beat kicks in as Gaga wails, "Judas/ Juda-a-ah/ Judas/ Gaga!" in a battle cry reminiscent of the one in her previous smash, "Bad Romance."

And that's not all the Born This Way news. A Gaga fan site has reported that legendary Queen guitarist Brian May will be featured on the ballad "You and I," which Gaga has been performing live on tour for several months.

Linkin Park's 'Iridescent' Video: A Dog, A Throne And A Blind King

In the new video for their song from the upcoming 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' soundtrack, the rockers get 'abstract.'

Linkin Park lending their music to a "Transformers" movie isn't exactly a new thing — the rockers are three-for-three at this point, having just shot a video for "Iridescent,", the lead single off the soundtrack to the upcoming installment of the sci-fi/action franchise, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." What is new this time out is the concept of the video for the song, which, truth be told, is actually pretty confusing ... even to the guys in LP themselves.

"All I know about the concept is that [Linkin Park turntablist/frequent director] Joe Hahn sent me an e-mail that said something about 'In the valley of the blind, the one-eyed man is king,' or something like that," singer/rapper Mike Shinoda laughed. "And the next thing I know, I've got horns growing out of my shoulders, and I've got one blind eye, and I've got a white dog and a snake on a throne made of antlers. I think you'd have to ask Joe what that all means."

Sounds like Hahn's been catching up on his H.G. Wells. And while the "Iridescent" clip is just the latest in a long string of Linkin Park videos to be directed by Hahn, it's perhaps his most out-there work to date. And that's fitting, considering that ever since the band released their 2010 A Thousand Suns album, they've been working very hard at pushing boundaries, too. Then again, to hear the Linkin Park guys tell it, all you need to know about Hahn's videos is that they are 100 percent his, coming from a place that even his bandmates don't totally comprehend.

"As we've gone on, the videos have gotten more abstract," Shinoda said. "[And] I kind of like that, I've been encouraging it with Joe, because ... the stuff that goes on in his head is really interesting and really fun, and I think it probably comes from the fact he grew up reading a lot of comics, watching anime, those things. Especially in a video like this, you can tell the influences are there."

Daniel Radcliffe Talks Avoiding Being Just A 'Child Star'

Posted: 18 Apr 2011 09:30 AM PDT

'Harry Potter' star says he wants to make sure that he's not condemned 'to the been-and-gone pile.'
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

"The next 12 months are going to be quite telling," Daniel Radcliffe told us recently, as he faces the end of the "Harry Potter" franchise and attempts to refashion his career, putting the boy wizard who made him a star firmly behind him.

The 21-year-old Brit has just kicked off his Broadway musical career with the lead in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," a show that will keep him Stateside into next year. He'll be saying goodbye to "Potter" in July, when the second and final part of "The Deathly Hallows" hits theaters, and is looking forward to promoting his starring role in the supernatural thriller "The Woman in Black," which is scheduled for an early 2012 release. Put together, he's got quite a busy year ahead of him, at the end of which, Radcliffe himself admits, he'll be able to tell if he's successfully broken away from "Potter" territory.

Moving past the magical wunderkind is something he wanted to accomplish early and definitively. "If I had been taking some time off and not doing stuff, I think the temptation in terms of the media and the public, to a certain extent, is [that] if you don't hear from a child star for a while, you can kind of condemn them to the been-and-gone pile," he explained. "I wanted to make sure that didn't happen."

His "Potter" co-star Emma Watson seemed to come to a similar conclusion in March, when she announced her intention to take a break from Brown University and focus again on her acting career. "As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible," she wrote on her website, adding that she wanted to "focus on my other professional and acting projects."

Those other projects, like Radcliffe's, have been far different than "Potter" — a conscious decision both of them have made in order to grow artistically. "I wanted to make sure people knew that I wanted to work and I didn't necessarily want to take the easy option of immediately signing up to another huge tent-pole fantasy series," Radcliffe said. "For me, I get very, very bored unless I'm doing something that challenges me and makes me jump through a few hoops."

Are you excited to see what direction Radcliffe's post-"Harry Potter" career takes? Let us know in the comments.

Robert Pattinson Says End Of 'Breaking Dawn' Shoot Was 'An Anticlimax'

Posted: 18 Apr 2011 08:19 AM PDT

'By the end of it, I think everyone was just like, 'Ahhh, get me out!' he says on 'Regis and Kelly.'
By Eric Ditzian

More than three years after he first stepped in front of the cameras as a golden-eyed vampire, Robert Pattinson wrapped production late last week on the "Twilight" franchise following the completion of the two parts of "Breaking Dawn." So what did the cast and crew do to celebrate the end of a series that has thus far grossed almost $1.8 billion worldwide? Not much at all, it turns out.

"It was a bit of an anticlimax. I finished on a night shoot and then flew right here," Pattinson said Monday (April 18) morning on "Live! With Regis and Kelly." "It was a very long shoot and we were working on it for eight months and it was hard. By the end of it, I think everyone was just like, 'Ahhh, get me out!' "

RPattz departed the British Columbia set and headed to New York for Sunday's red-carpet premiere of "Water for Elephants," his upcoming romantic drama co-starring Reese Witherspoon. That's where MTV News caught up with both stars, during a live-stream interview outside the Ziegfeld Theatre. The next morning, Pattinson was up early and making the talk-show rounds, first on "Today" and then on "Regis and Kelly," where guest host Seth Meyers not only asked the actor about his films but wondered if he'd ever appear on "Saturday Night Live."

"It's terrifying. I couldn't imagine," Pattinson laughed, adding that he doesn't consider himself funny. That sentiment jibes with what RPattz has previously told us about hosting the sketch comedy show. So despite online petitions and on-air pleas from "SNL" castmembers themselves, it doesn't seem likely that Pattinson is going to take on hosting duties anytime soon.

But you never know what's in store for the guy now that his vampire franchise has come to a close. Even Pattinson joked that he's got no idea what his future holds. "I don't know who I am anymore," he cracked. "I still haven't really understood what it is not to be doing 'Twilight' movies every three months."

'Thor': The Early Reviews Are In!

Posted: 17 Apr 2011 11:02 PM PDT

'A burly slab of bombastic superhero entertainment,' one critic writes about Marvel's 3-D take on the mighty Norse god.
By Eric Ditzian

"Thor" made landfall in Australia over the weekend, as Chris Hemsworth and the cast of this Marvel adaption arrived for the film's premiere in Sydney on Sunday. Coinciding with the flick's debut is the release of the first wave of reviews from around the globe.

The early word is very good for fans of the Asgardian superhero. "The Marvel universe moves into the cosmic realm with 'Thor,' a burly slab of bombastic superhero entertainment that skitters just this side of kitschy to provide an introduction befitting the mighty god of thunder," writes The Hollywood Reporter in a typically positive review. "It's a noisy, universe-rattling spectacle full of sound and fury with a suitably epic design, solid digital effects and a healthy respect for the comic-book lore that turned a mythological Norse god into a founding member of the superhero team known as The Avengers."

Chris Hemsworth, who was introduced to American audiences in a small role in 2009's "Star Trek," is being dubbed a worthy live-action version of the Marvel hero. "[He] is just as good a fit for the character of Thor as Robert Downey Jr. is for Tony Stark, and that one thing goes a long way to making the film a pleasure to watch," says HitFix.

Many reviews have highlighted the way in which the film has stayed true to the often comedic nature of the source material. " 'Thor' is frequently hilarious, but the humor comes from a genuine affection for the occasionally silly tropes of the comic books, not misguided 'irony,' " writes Australian site The Vine.

Lest you think critical opinion has been uniformly positive, we should note that reviews have dinged the movie for a variety of reasons. "While some post converted 3-D has really impressed me ('Green Hornet'), 'Thor' didn't fall into this category," says Collider.com. "While watching, I never felt like there was a lot of depth."

Other reviews have taken issue with the rushed pace of the film and a subpar third act. But in general, the early critics agree: "Thor" is a worthy, if hardly perfect, tribute to the beloved comics character.

" 'Thor' is everything you might hope and expect it to be, equal parts good and bad. It is the type of movie I would have loved if I saw it at age 10 — and I'm sure this movie will play awesome to younger audiences," writes SlashFilm. "I still very much enjoyed it, but did not fall in love with it. It falls a couple steps shy of achievements of recent Marvel films like 'Iron Man,' 'The Incredible Hulk', and even 'Iron Man 2.' "
