Lil Wayne Jabs At 50 Cent On New Pimp C Track

In 'Let's Talk Money,' Weezy claims he got advice from late UGK MC about 50.

Just last month, 50 Cent told MTV News he wanted Lil Wayne to clarify lyrics from the Cash Money star's mixtape track "Louisianimal," which featured Weezy spitting lines like: "I'm about a dollar, f--- two quarters."

When asked about Fif's comments last week, however, Wayne chose to bypass the question.

"You said it never rains in Southern California? Wow. That's why I didn't see people with umbrellas," he answered after being asked by MTV News about 50 last week. Weezy then turned to Young Money artist Jae Millz with a grin. "Me neither," Millz added.

"No rain jackets or boots," Wayne continued. "Wow. That's crazy. Young moooolaaah, baaaby!"

Now, on a new song that leaked to the Web on Friday afternoon (March 20), Wayne is taking another stab at 50. This time the lyrical dig is more blatant than the one on "Louisianimal."

The song in question is called "Let's Talk Money," by the late Pimp C and featuring Lil Wayne and a sampled T-Pain chorus. A few bars into his verse following Pimp's, Wayne speaks about advice he got from the controversially outspoken half of UGK, who passed away in 2007. "That n---a Pimp called me before he left this b---h/ Told me keep doin' ya thing and don't tell 50 sh--."

(While UGK's final album, 4 Life, is slated for release at the end of this month, "Let's Talk Money" is billed as a solo Pimp C track.)

50 had been taking a number of public shots at Wayne in interviews, downplaying his rising popularity. Eventually 50 put his thoughts on wax and began taunting Wayne through ad-libs on mixtape tracks. Since his feud with Rick Ross picked up, though, Fif has noticeably fallen back from his Wayne-baiting.

"It's been so long since I was saying anything about Lil Wayne," 50 explained in February, admitting he started with Wayne last year. "I gave him an award. At the BET Awards, I handed him a trophy. So when [his dis record] comes out, I say, 'Let me say something that makes him create clarity for the public.' If it's an issue, let's deal with the actual issue. If not, let it go."

Fif said he wasn't sure when the record was completed and attempted to give Wayne the benefit of the doubt. But he said Weezy's silence has spoken volumes.

"He didn't create clarity for the public," 50 insisted. "If you don't do that and say something disrespectful that's for the public, I gotta do something to address it. He had material come out. I don't know if it was leaked or not. "

He's the King of Detroit and they're the Kings of Rock. Sounds like royalty will be in the building next month as Eminem is scheduled to induct Run-DMC into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 4. Em was announced as a participant in the festivities late Friday afternoon (March 20).

According to The Associated Press, Em will join Jimmy Page, the Rolling Stones' Ron Wood, Flea and Smokey Robinson as presenters during the ceremony, held at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland.

The reclusive rapper is slowly starting to re-enter the public consciousness. Recently, his label, Interscope, announced the rapper would release his forthcoming project, Relapse, on May 19. Slim Shady's protégé, 50 Cent, told MTV News it was his idea for Eminem to also put out a second album before the year's up.

"You can't ask for more excitement from a hip-hop perspective than two Eminem albums," 50 said. "One is great. It's a treat. But the second one is exciting.

"Actually, it was my idea for him to release two albums, because he had so much material over a time period," the G-Unit star added. "The [second album] kind of feels like a sequel. They're both written to one topic almost ... it felt like part one and part two of the [same album]. They tie together."

Before he adds more credits toward his own future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Em is sure to speak graciously about Run-DMC. In interviews, the Detroit lyricst often name-checks artists who have had an influence on him, and certainly the trio from Queens made the list.

Jay-Z: 'Hip-Hop Has Done More Than Any Politician To Improve Race Relations'

'This generation is the least racist generation ever,' Jay tells Best Life magazine.

Jay-Z believes the influence that he and his peers have had on society goes beyond simply entertaining and showing people fresh new dances, the fliest clothes or high-priced luxury items.

In the new issue of Best Life magazine, the Brooklyn-born mogul speaks about the powerful effect hip-hop has had on the country.

"[Hip-hop] has changed America immensely," Hov is quoted in the magazine as saying. "Hip-hop has done more than any leader, politician, or anyone to improve race relations."

"Racism is taught in the home ... and it's very hard to teach racism to a teenager who idolizes, say, Snoop Dogg," Jay continued. "It's hard to say, 'That guy is less than you.' The kid is like, 'I like that guy, he's cool. How is he less than me?' "

Jay — who was voted one of the MTV News Brain Trust Greatest MCs of All Time and has appeared on our Hottest MCs in the Game lists — says he sees the tolerance first-hand whenever he hangs out.

"That's why this generation is the least racist generation ever," Jay told the magazine. "You see it all the time. Go to any club. People are intermingling, hanging out, enjoying the same music."

So what new music is Young Hova working on? The long-awaited Blueprint 3, of course. Jay and Kanye West started crafting the project last year. Jay says he still doesn't have a release date.

"I made a bunch of songs," Jay told us last month during NBA All-Star Weekend. He hosted the star-studded Sprite Green "Two Kings" dinner and afterparty with LeBron James. "We're gonna get in the studio and get down to what's supposed to be on the album and when. Right now, Kanye is making a new batch of music that's going to be phenomenal, and at the end of the day, when it's ready for the people, then we'll serve it up."

Fabolous Sets Al Pacino Classic To Music With Loso's Way

Fab says LP 'touches on so many issues' from the 1993 movie 'Carlito's Way' but is still relatable.

Fabolous says Loso's Way is still on the way. The Brooklyn native was inspired to record the album after viewing the 1993 Al Pacino drama "Carlito's Way." He says we all have more in common with Charlie Brigante than we know.

"The album is so crazy," he told us on the set of the The-Dream's "Rockin That Thang" remix video. "[My album] touches on so many issues from the movie, but it still [expresses] principles that people go through every day and could relate to. That's why I chose the movie. I was watching the movie and was like, 'The stuff going on in this movie, everybody could relate to it.' Just like how dude came out of jail and was like, 'I'm not going back to jail.' Everybody feels that way on the come-out. It's the journey to do something better. When I was coming out of the 'hood, I felt I wanted to do something better, and [I put] the journey to do something better ... in this album. A lot of things have happened [since my career started]. I've gotten shot, I've got arrested, I've had a baby. All of these things have happened, so I wanted to put that in music form."

In the film, Carlito was expecting a baby before he took that fateful train ride to the great beyond. Fab talks about anticipating becoming a father in a song called "Stay," which features Marsha Ambrosia. And if you're wondering, 'Loso also brings to life the action-packed scene in which Carlito offs a bar full of thugs after yelling, "OK, I reloaded!"

"That's gonna be 'Just Comin' In,' " Fab said. "At the beginning of my joint. In my intro, I'm going in certain places and talking about things, talking about certain things that I don't think people have really heard me talk about or heard how I really feel.

"Right after that, I'm reloaded," he added. "I got a song on the album called 'Pachanga.' We say 'puh-chang-uh' on the song. That was Carlito's man, but we know at the end of the movie that was the dude who got Carlito set up to get shot. You see how friends change in due time. I got a crazy joint on the album that explains how certain things or certain friends change in your lifetime."

Fabolous said the LP should be out sometime between spring and summer.

Perry Farrell Drops Lollapalooza Lineup Hints At SXSW

Jane's Addiction frontman promises a 'who's who of electronic artists.'

Last year, when the full Lollapalooza lineup was leaked by Chicago Sun-Times music critic Jim DeRogatis, Perry Farrell was so angry that he invoked the name of amorous French skunk Pepe Le Pew.

This year, when a handful of Lolla headliners were revealed by The Chicago Tribune, Farrell refrained from mentioning any cartoon characters. Instead, he's striking a different tone: optimism.

"Well, it's pesky. But you gotta look at it like this: It's kind of exciting these guys care enough to try to dig up what we're doing every year, and, um, it's a great lineup, so I'm not too mad that people happen to know [about it]," Farrell told MTV News at South by Southwest on Thursday, hours before he and the re-formed Jane's Addiction tore through Playboy's "Rock the Rabbit" party. "And they don't know the 100 other groups that are coming. ... But Lollapalooza now has six headliners, so there's two they don't now about. [Plus,] even the people who are playing before us are awesome, so no, I'm not too mad about it."

Farrell wouldn't divulge the names of the other two Lollapalooza headliners, who will join Jane's, the Kings of Leon, the Beastie Boys and Depeche Mode atop the bill August 7-9 at Grant Park in Chicago. Nor was he willing to discuss any of the "100 other groups" apparently confirmed for the fest. But he did hint at an increased electronic presence at Lolla '09 — perhaps he's thinking of reviving his old ENIT festival? — and managed to compare himself to a certain pop-culture pariah in the process. The man truly is a master of the sound bite.

"We have a lineup in the electronic world that's a who's who of electronic artists, and they don't know anything about that, either," Farrell added. "I kind of feel like Octomom, you know? Getting all this attention. Who cares?"

MTV News will be all over the South by Southwest festival this week, with blogs, articles and video on all the gigs, the artists and the scene!

Alleged Chris Brown/ Rihanna Altercation Re-Enacted In Disturbing PSA

DoSomething.org public service announcement aims to spread awareness of dating violence.

Using what it claims are "actual detective notes," the teen organization DoSomething.org has released a disturbing public service announcement that re-enacts a domestic-violence altercation that is unspecified but clearly based on the alleged incident between Chris Brown and Rihanna. The PSA aims to spread awareness about dating violence. (Warning, the clip contains violent imagery.)

The nearly two-minute video features a somber voiceover narrator reading the police transcript of a report on the incident as a pair of young actors play out the scenario that police claim took place on February 8, in which Brown is alleged to have beaten and bitten his girlfriend during an argument inside his rented car. While the clip does not portray the bloodied, bruised aftermath of the alleged fight — and distances itself from Brown and Rihanna by using white actors — it paints a grim picture of dating violence.

The PSA ends with the words, "Mad? Do something about it. One in three teens are abused in a relationship." The video encourages teens to wear three bracelets, one blue, two black, to illustrate the statistics about dating abuse (they are available at dosomething.org/abuse).

Commenting on the clip, DoSomething CEO Nancy Lublin told The Associated Press, "We didn't want to be overdramatic. Our goal was not to shoot a Lifetime TV movie. ... There was no need to sensationalize things. It was bad enough."

Lublin noted that the organization purposely used white actors to move the conversation away from the celebrity singers, who are both black, and onto the more general topic of domestic violence.

"The public is very focused right now on Chris and Rihanna," Lublin said. "I think people need to realize that this is an issue that goes beyond those particular people, and it affects everybody of every race. And so we wanted this to not be an exact re-enactment. We wanted instead to say: Could this be you?"

Brown, 19, has been charged with two felony counts, assault and making criminal threats, in the case and is due back in court on April 6 for his arraignment, at which time he could enter a plea.

'Party Down' Reunites 'Veronica Mars' Co-Stars

Many fans were upset when cult favorite "Veronica Mars" was canceled back in 2007, and although there's still talk that a "Mars" movie may happen, until then, fans of the show can relive the glory days when Rob Thomas' new show, "Party Down," debuts March 20 on Starz.

The show, which takes a comic look at what it's like for struggling actors working in the catering industry, reunites many of the "Veronica Mars" castmembers with the show's star, Kristen Bell, who makes a cameo in an episode set to air later in the season.

"It's euphoric," Bell told MTV News about working with the old gang, which she describes as an "amazing cast." " 'Veronica Mars' is such a special part of my life, and I don't think I really realized it and maybe it didn't resonate till later, but I miss these people so much."

Although she's back only for one episode, Bell said she'd be more than willing to reprise her role of Uda Bengt, the leader of the "Party Down" crew's rival catering team. "I've told Rob if I'm available, I will do anything and everything that he writes. Hopefully, next season, Uda will be back," she said. "I'll keep my fingers crossed."

Bell loves all her former castmates but is very willing to pick out a favorite in the group. "I would say Ryan [Hansen, who played Dick Casablancas on 'Veronica Mars'] cracks me up the most, but I think everything that he does is funny, because we have the same thoughts."

Her former co-stars are quick to point out that working with Bell, who has gone on to have success in films like "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," hasn't been a walk in the park. "Kristen Bell, I've worked with her before. Nothing's changed. She is a complete bi---," Hansen joked about the reunion. "She doesn't really give you anything to work with. She's short, and she's not very pretty."

"Party Down" actor Adam Scott — who once guest-starred on "Veronica Mars" — jokingly described a similar work experience with Bell. "She's a horrifying person," he said, adding that "VM" fans will get a kick out of this show. "I think this will be fun for fans of 'Veronica Mars,' " and it helps that Mars herself stopped by for support. "Kristen is awesome," he added. "We were excited when we heard she was going to do it. She's like a pro's pro."

President Obama's 'Special Olympics' Joke Lands Him In Hot Water

Obama apologizes for remark made on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.'

President Barack Obama's appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" Thursday night was memorable for a number of reasons: Their conversation ranged from the controversial AIG bonuses to "American Idol," and the president joked around quite a bit. However, one of those jokes has gotten the president into hot water.

When asked about the bowling alley in the White House, Obama joked to Leno that his average score of 129 "was like the Special Olympics or something." Although, neither Leno or Obama seemed bothered by the comment during the show, the White House issued a statement apologizing for it before the show aired.

"[Obama] thinks that the Special Olympics are a wonderful program that gives an opportunity to shine to people with disabilities from around the world," Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton told reporters, adding that Obama only meant the comment to be a be a funny quip about his poor bowling skills, according to The Associated Press.

Although Leno and Obama talked about everything from the state of the economy to "life in the bubble" to his hope that he will eventually get a basketball court at the White House, it was the Special Olympics comment that most people were talking about.

Special Olympics Chairman Timothy Shriver, who said Obama called him from Air Force One to apologize for the comment, talked about it on ABC's "Good Morning America" Friday morning (March 20).

"He expressed his disappointment and he apologized in a way that was very moving. He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population," Shriver said, adding that Obama said he would like to have some Special Olympic athletes visit the White House to bowl or play basketball.

Shriver added that despite the apology, "I think it's important to see that words hurt and words do matter. And these words that in some respect can be seem as humiliating or a put-down to people with special needs do cause pain and they do result in stereotypes."

Lindsay Lohan Is Waiting For Seth Rogen To Call Her

Actress also says it's 'scary' to be not working on films.
By Jocelyn Vena

Anyone who doubts that Lindsay Lohan is trying to get back in the acting game had better think again, because the actress already has one Oscar winner on her side.

"I'm talking to [lots of people]," she says in the April 2009 issue of Nylon magazine. "One is Sean Penn — I spoke to him again the other day."

However, one actor is apparently not as interested. "We're trying to get Seth Rogen for this project, but Seth won't call us back," she said, adding, "So call us back, Seth, if you're reading this!"

Lohan told the magazine she's concerned about her low activity in the film world these days. "It's scary when you realize, 'Oh my God, I'm not working. And have a house to pay for now,' " said the actress, who has been in headlines for less desirable reasons (including the recent, retracted warrant for her arrest for an apparent parole violation).

So until things pick up (or Rogen calls her back), Lohan said she doesn't mind doing modeling work. "I love doing photo shoots," she said. "I mean, if I could just sign with IMG and do ad campaigns and model more, I'd do that ... because that's fun for me. That's not work."

However, different kinds of photos — i.e. the ones that appear in tabloids — are the ones that Lohan is more concerned about. She referred to tabloids as "the Burn Books of Hollywood," referencing her star-making turn in "Mean Girls."

"There's not much I can do about the fact that I've become a kind of tabloid obsession," she said. "I can't change that. And yes, the Web sites, the gossip pages, and all of that stuff have hurt my career — they're like the Burn Books of Hollywood.

"But I really don't feel like I should have to prove myself to anyone because of living out my college years in the public eye. I'm glad everything happened the way it did."
