Taylor Swift just voted in her first election, and the 18-year-old said that casting her ballot on Thursday in Sumner County, Tennessee, made her feel "so completely American." The 18-year-old country singer told People.com she was keeping quiet about who she voted for, but she assured everyone that she did her research before making her choice.

"I watched the debates, and I read all kinds of articles on each person and each vice president and what they believe in and where their priorities are," she told People. "I went with my gut instinct. I wavered back and forth the entire time I was waiting in line, and when I got into the voting booth, I said, 'That's the one I'm voting for,' and I pressed the button. And I feel good about it!"

The busy teen waited in line for an hour and a half in order to vote early. "I wasn't going to be able to vote on November 4, because I'm going to be in L.A. filming 'Ellen,' " she said. "But there wasn't a chance I was going to let this slip away."

She also told the site that being involved in this election has been a very empowering thing for her. "The line wrapped around the building," she said, "but I can honestly tell you that it was worth the wait. I felt like I really accomplished something special. It's like exercising — you think about it, and you're like, 'Wow, there's going to be a long line, there's going to be a lot of effort involved,' but afterwards you feel so good."

Swift said she and her friends really found an interest in politics this year. "Everyone I know is obsessed with their opportunity to vote," she said. "I see people getting involved, and there is something really, really beautiful about that."

Tokio Hotel Find Their True Love In America: Halloween Candy

MTV helps satisfy the German band's collective sweet (and sour) tooth.

There are three things Tokio Hotel really like about the United States: fast food (particularly In & Out Burger), Hollywood movies (particularly those starring Angelina Jolie) and, strangely enough, American candy (particularly any brand they can get their hands on).

Naturally, they were rather upset that they wouldn't actually be in the U.S. for the single greatest candy-consuming day of the year: Halloween. Seems they're due back in Germany to continue work on their new album, which meant that after Thursday night's sold-out show at New York's Roseland Ballroom, they'd be packed on a plane and sent home, candyless.

Of course, when we heard about this, we decided to help. So, we surprised the guys backstage at the Roseland with a heavy-duty Halloween candy bonanza. In between stuffing Sweet Tarts, Warheads and Twix bars in their mouths, TH frontman Bill Kaulitz and his twin brother, guitarist Tom, actually managed to get a few words in too.

"In Germany, we do not have Halloween, which is a shame. We do have some of this candy though," Bill laughed, surveying the mounds of sweets before him. "We have M&Ms, we have these things here — Ritter Sport — and these too, [Kinder Surprise Eggs]. ... I'm not really into chocolate; I really love all the sour stuff. ... I just like the surprises [in the Kinder]."

"What kind of surprise is in there?" Tom asked bassist Georg Listing, who unwrapped the Kinder to reveal some sort of boat/duck contraption. "Is that a boat? Maybe it's a sex toy?"

Other highlights from our candy-filled rampage with Tokio Hotel included Bill's confusion over Pixy Stix ("Are they sour? Are they for the nose?"), and Tom's love of candy cigarettes ("It is bubblegum! We are all non-smokers, so this is good!"). Most important of all, despite their boasts that they like their candy as sour as possible, neither of the Kaulitz brothers could finish one single Mega Warhead ball.

"Gack!" Bill sputtered, spitting his Warhead onto the floor. "It's too sour for me."

And then, just as the candy frenzy was hitting its high mark, it was time for the guys to take the stage. So we bid farewell to the Kaulitz brothers, and wished them luck on their new album. But before they went, they had one message for their fans here in the States.

"We wanted to say thank you, and we will be back in December to play some radio shows. Also, happy Halloween!" Bill said, before asking, "Can we take some of this candy with us?"

Rick Ross Has No Hard Feelings About His Omission From T.I.'s 'Swagger Like Us'

Sure, Rick Ross yells, "How could you forget about me?" on his freestyle over the "Swagger Like Us" beat, but in all reality, he said there's no way he can be upset with T.I. for going with the lineup he did on the official song.

"I feel like everything happens in time," Ross told MTV News. "What T.I. had on his plate and what he had going on, I think that was the roster [ Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne] for him to put together. He had to make it as big as he could. It's Paper Trail, he had to make it explosive. ... The way I make music, I'm hater-free. So I don't have egos. I'm a fan."

The Boss may have his chance to make "S.L.U." just yet. There's a rumor going around the Internet that Jay-Z is putting together a "part two" with Young Jeezy, Andre 3000, Ross and Nas for Blueprint 3.

"I'mma be honest — no comment," he laughed when asked if it was true. "No comment. It's all good, though. It's all good.

"I ain't gonna lie, it makes sense," he continued, still not confirming or denying. "That's a statement record, 'Swagger Like Us.' I applaud Tip for making those moves [on the original]. That's a boss move. A lot of dudes wouldn't pull that together. It just don't happen that way. When you do see it pulled together and unfold the way it did, it's great for the game. It's great for the kids. It's great for the newer generation to see all the top dogs. Like when I was young, when I would come home and put the TV on. Before I watched cartoons, I put the TV on to see Fab Five Freddy [on 'Yo! MTV Raps'. You might see 'Self Destruction.' That made you love hip-hop."

Ross' Trilla had its own classic symphony of MCs with the song "Luxury Tax." That track features Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and Trick Daddy.

"I ain't gonna lie," Ross said. "We was actually debating on if we was gonna shoot a video for 'Luxury Tax.' That's a classic 'hood record. I know it would have been fun."

Instead, he chose to go with a video for "Here I Am," and that didn't turn out too badly for him.

Rick Ross' Still the Trillest is the main pick for next week's Mixtape Monday. You can check it out right here on MTVNews.com starting Monday. Also on Monday, the Rick Ross mixtape segment will run on "MTV Jams" every hour starting at 8 a.m. We have more than enough exclusive news to go along with it, including Plies' rebelling in song against a law that prohibits men from wearing low-slung jeans and Lil Wayne anticipating Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak.

Audrina Patridge Isn't Sure If There Will Be Another Season Of 'The Hills'

'Who knows if there's gonna be a fifth season or if there's an end?' she tells MTV News from the 'Sorority Row' set.

PITTSBURGH — What began as a takeoff of "The O.C." has, in four short years, morphed into a phenomenon no one could have predicted — from "Laguna Beach" to "The Hills" of Los Angeles to "The City" of New York.

As "The Hills" continues its fourth season, though, Audrina Patridge isn't focused on where the show began, but on how it will end.

(Will it be with a "Hills" movie? Find out what Patridge thinks about the possibility on the MTV Movies Blog.)

Unfortunately, there are no easy answers, Patridge indicated, telling MTV News that the future of "The Hills" remains mysterious.

"I don't know," Patridge said from the set of "Sorority Row," a new horror film she's co-starring in with Rumer Willis and Briana Evigan. "I mean, we're still filming the fourth season till December, and then ... who knows if there's gonna be a fifth season or if there's an end?"

The 23-year-old up-and-comer is trying to begin a film career with roles in the aforementioned "Sorority Row" and "Into the Blue 2." Series co-stars Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag are similarly moving on to other pursuits.

In the end, that might be the nail in the coffin for the series as a whole, Patridge said.

"I feel at this point, we all kind of want to go our own separate ways," she said.

(Audrina is trying to be a movie star — but what about when movie stars make fun of her? What does Audrina think of the Funny or Die clip, featuring James Franco and Mila Kunis, that spoofs "The Hills"? Find out on the Newsroom blog.)

While Patridge is concentrating on film, she admits that one of those post-"Hills" paths might lead her to her very own show. Asked if she would ever want a spin-off, similar to Whitney Port's upcoming "The City," Patridge told MTV News that it was one of the many options on the table.

"You know, I have a few things in the talks," she said. "I've been talking to different people about that. I've considered it ... so it's definitely an option I'd consider."

As to what that spin-off would focus on (beyond her, of course), or where it would take place, Patridge was mum. "That's something I need to sit down and really think about," she said.

What do you think? How long should "The Hills" continue and how should it end? Should Patridge get her own spin-off, or would you rather she concentrates on films? Sound off on all your thoughts below.

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.

Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.

"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."

Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."

Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.

According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "

"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."

In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."

But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."

Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.

"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.

"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

Gun Used In Murders Of Jennifer Hudson's Relatives Has Been Found, Police Say

Chicago police have now confirmed that the handgun they recovered Wednesday in the city's North Lawndale neighborhood is the weapon that was used last week in the slayings of singer/actress Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the gun, a .45-caliber Sig-Sauer semiautomatic pistol, was discovered in the bushes of a vacant lot on Chicago's West Side, just a block away from the site where the body of Hudson's nephew, Julian King, was found Monday. While police immediately suspected it was the gun that was used in the killings — because unfired bullets in the chamber matched the make and model of shell casings recovered at the murder scene — they couldn't confirm those suspicions until forensic testing was completed on the weapon.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had previously traced the recovered gun to its original owner, who lives in Michigan and had reported it stolen. Now, investigators are trying to trace the weapon's path from Michigan to Chicago.

The Hudson family is holding a memorial service at Pleasant Gift Memorial Baptist Church on Monday for Hudson's mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, her brother, 29-year-old Jason Hudson, and King. After the private service at 3 p.m., the service will be open to the public from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Hudson and her sister, Julia, are not expected to attend.

The family has also formed a foundation for the families of murder victims. In a statement released Thursday announcing the Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims, the family said, "The specific purpose of the foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime. This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter, as well as grief counseling."

The investigation into last week's murders continues, with William Balfour, the estranged husband of Julia Hudson, the only suspect. While he has not been charged with a specific crime, he remains in police custody as a "person of interest." Detectives are trying to uncover evidence that will link Balfour to the murders and are also exploring the possibility that the killer did not act alone.
