Aubrey O'Day's Former 'Making The Band' Co-Stars Talk About Her Playboy Shoot

When MTV News caught up with several of Aubrey O'Day's former "Making the Band" castmates, we had to know: What do they think of the ousted Danity Kane member's upcoming Playboy shoot? The responses varied, but they all cracked a smile when the topic came up.

The guys of Day26 expressed only love and excitement for O'Day's photo shoot. "I'm going to get that issue," Will Taylor said. "Much love to her. Ain't no hard feelings."

The group's resident prankster, Robert Curry, joked that he had "already seen" the Playboy spread. "I'm just playing!" he laughed. "Big up to Aubrey, and may she be blessed in everything she does. It's sad things ended the way they did, but Aubrey, we still love you. I still love you."

"I'm gonna be the first person to pick it up," Brian Angel added. "Tell me when it debuts. Playboy, I support you and Aubrey. I wanna see it!"

The only guy apprehensive about responding to the news was Qwanell "Que" Mosley: "Next question!"

Meanwhile, Aubrey's former bandmate Dawn Richard was a little more unsure about the whole thing. "Um, congratulations? I don't know what to say to that," Richard told MTV News. "When someone says, 'Yo, she posed for Playboy.' That's great."

Richard did find one positive thing to say about the whole endeavor: "I mean, she has a great body, so yay. I can't tell somebody what their career move is. Maybe that's what they wanted their career to be."

But just because she's OK with O'Day posing for Playboy doesn't mean she'll be the next former DK member to grace the magazine's pages.

"Would I do that right now? My mom would beat me," Richard said. "I don't judge. It's like, whatever. I don't judge people. I'm not going to give it more time than that. I think people give it too much time, actually."

Bret Michaels -- Pennsylvania Native, Arizona Resident -- Gives His Super Bowl Odds

Poison-frontman-turned-'Rock of Love' superstud is torn about which team he's rooting for, but not that torn.
By James Montgomery

Bret Michaels is in a rather unique position — and it's not the kind you might think ...

See, the Poison-frontman-turned-"Rock of Love" superstud grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and considers himself a "die-hard" Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Yet, for the past four years, he's called Scottsdale, Arizona, home, which means that, when it comes to this Sunday's Super Bowl — which pits his beloved Steelers against the Arizona Cardinals — he's torn, but not that torn.

"I go black-and-gold, all the way," Michaels told MTV News on Friday (January 30). "I grew up a member of Lambert's Lunatics [a group of fans who worshipped at the altar of the Steelers' punishing middle linebacker Jack Lambert] in the '70s, and remember all the insanity of the old Three Rivers Stadium. It's truly in my blood. But, I have a place in Scottsdale, and there's no doubt that the Cardinals are my NFC team, too. I've hade some great times out here, and they've got great fans."

Having said that, he paused for a second, then added the following caveat:

"Now make sure you put this in the article: I would root for the Cardinals if they were playing any team but the Steelers. So this Sunday, it's going to be Steelers all the way. I am a true, die-hard Steelers fan. They are my only team."

This is clearly very important to Michaels, who says some of his fondest memories were going to Steelers games in Pittsburgh, watching his dad "getting plastered at tailgate parties" and throwing snowballs at opposing players. He has very, er, fond memories of Pittsburgh — and all of Pennsylvania, for that matter.

"Growing up there I had some good times," he said. "I lost my virginity at the Mechanicsburg fish hatchery, so that should tell you the kind of times I'm talking about."

Still, his connection to his new home is very strong.

"Out here, the weather is beautiful. I mean, it's 70 degrees on Christmas Day, and you can't beat that," Michaels laughed. "Here, the worst thing that can happen to you is that you sweat too much before you can get the air conditioning working in your car. And, you know, I love the women in Pittsburgh. Love them. But desert women ... man, they're smoking hot."

But women and weather aside, Michaels can't be swayed from his Steel Curtain loyalties, which is why he's picking the Steelers to beat the Cardinals — 27-24 — in the Super Bowl. He's confident but still a little bit worried. Seems he thinks his team might waltz into the game expecting to roll over the Cards, which is why, as we wrapped up our conversation, he had just one final piece of advice for his beloved black-and-gold.

"The Cardinals are a good team — don't take them lightly. So, here's my advice: Go balls-to-the wall, play the Cards hard and do not underestimate them," he said. "Both teams know each other's tendencies, so it's going to come down to which team is stronger. So, please, Steelers, go out there with guns a-blazin'. And that concludes my drunken coach's corner."

MTV News will be all over the Super Bowl's music and movie highlights — be sure to check in on Sunday!

Rick Ross Is Not Impressed With 50 Cent's Dis Track, 'Officer Ricky'

Ross gives 50 '48 hours' to 'come up with another one!'

Rick Ross has heard "Officer Ricky (Go 'Head, Try Me)," 50 Cent's response to his "Mafia Music," and he said he's not impressed.

"We all gonna act like we didn't hear that," Ross told Shade45 morning host Angela Yee on Friday morning (January 30). "We gonna give him 48 hours. Time to come up with another one!"

On 50's track, which hit the Net Thursday night, the G-Unit star taunts Ross for his history as a correction officer.

"Officer Ricky radio for backup/ See your a-- anyway, you know I'm gonna act up," 50 raps. "You wanna play with me when I don't wanna play?/ Have my n---as whip the skin off your a-- in broad day/ Screaming, 'Boss,' n---a , you ain't a boss/ Pu--- n---a, you're lost/ Listen, Officer Ross."

"Officer Ricky" is a response to Ross' own dis track, in which the Miami rapper dived into 50's legal troubles with the mother of his child.

Ross wouldn't reveal the reason for the rift between the two rappers, saying "it's not important." 50, however, has been embroiled in a war of words with Ross allies Fat Joe and DJ Khaled for some time now. 50's Web site, Thisis50.com, also posted pictures in the past of Ross in various police uniforms.

The Miami rapper explained to Yee that he wanted to talk to 50 Cent during the most recent BET Awards. He said 50's facial expression, however, left him "disappointed" when he spotted him. Ross compared the expression to the look DJ Vlad wore when he was involved in a physical altercation with associates of Ross.

After that response from 50, Ross said he decided not to approach the G-Unit head.

"When I finally got the opportunity to bump into him, I planned to have words, but he disappointed me, so I kept it moving," Ross said.

Ross reiterated at the end of the interview again how shocked he was by 50's response, which he characterized as poor.

"I was positive that couldn't be the response," Ross said.

Britney Spears Gets Restraining Orders Against Adnan Ghalib, Sam Lutfi

The duo had allegedly been trying to gain control of the singer's affairs.

Britney Spears has obtained restraining orders against ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and former friend/manager Osama "Sam" Lutfi, according to The Associated Press. Quoting a source close to Spears, the AP reports that the duo had been trying to gain control of the singer's affairs.

It was barely a year ago that Lutfi was still Spears' manager, until a restraining order alleged that he had drugged Britney in an attempt to control her. "[He] essentially moved into Britney's home and has purported to take control of her life, home and finances," Britney's father, Jamie — who still retains temporary conservator powers over the singer's person and estate — wrote in the complaint at the time. "Mr. Lutfi has drugged Britney. ... He has cut Britney's home phone line and removed her cell phone chargers. He yells at her. He claims to control everything — Britney's business manager, her attorneys and the security guards at the gate."

Meanwhile, Britney rocked the tabloid world when she began dating Ghalib, a paparazzo, around the time of her hospitalization in January 2008. The relationship fell apart shortly after Ghalib began providing his photo agency with exclusive details and photos of their relationship.

The exact nature of the new restraining orders was not immediately clear, as a court official told the AP that the documents were behind locked doors in the judge's chambers. Spears and her father had chosen not to renew a temporary restraining order against Lutfi when it expired this past July.

"Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama 'Sam' Lutfi," Britney's court-appointed attorney Samuel D. Ingham III said in a statement at the time. "Now or at any time in the future."

It was a year ago this weekend that a court placed Britney under co-conservatorship of her father and attorney Andrew Wallete, giving them complete control of her assets, followed by Spears' involuntary psychiatric hold at UCLA Medical Center. Soon after, a restraining order was secured against Lutfi, and in the eyes of some fans, those moves began a year of redemption that would return Britney to her former glory.

Diddy Says Lil' Kim 'Has Every Right' To Be Upset About 'Notorious'

In a video blog, Puff and D-Roc agree that Kim's portrayal in the movie was incomplete.
By Jayson Rodriguez

Lil' Kim has made it known that she's not happy with her portrayal in the Biggie biopic "Notorious."

The pint-size rapper said her and Big's relationship was deeper than what was reflected in the film, complaining that the actress who portrays her, Naturi Naughton, was terrible. And she said Biggie's mother, Voletta Wallace, and the late star's wife, Faith Evans, are behind it all.

Lil' Cease, Wallace, Evans and the film's writers have refuted Kim's criticisms in various interviews. Evans told MTV News that Kim's badmouthing was "just sad." And though Big's mom told Hip Hop Weekly that Kim should "get a life," she also said she felt "bad" for Kim after seeing the film.

Now, however, Diddy and Junior M.A.F.I.A. cohort Damian "D-Roc" Butler have entered the fray to defend Kim. The two spoke up in a video blog on Diddy's YouTube page on Friday morning (January 30).

Diddy said Kim called him and asked the Bad Boy CEO to consider how she feels about how she was represented in the film.

"The only thing that I can say about the movie ... that was great from their relationship is that he really respected her as an artist, as an MC and was into her like that," Diddy explained. "All the other extra stuff, it was a movie. And Kim will have her chance, her own movie will come out there. Give Kim her chance. Don't believe what you saw in the movie; it wasn't only about that. She was with us, that was our queen. She'll always be the queen. She got every right to feel that way. The movie is really about Big. Don't focus on none of our parts; focus on Big as the man."

In "Notorious," Kim's character is shown in several lewd sex scenes with Biggie and also in a physical confrontation with the Bad Boy rapper.

D-Roc, who has spoken very little in public about the movie, said the real-life Kim has more depth than her character in the movie does. "She's more than that, and you see that when you meet her," he said.

Bruce Springsteen Talks Super Bowl, 'We Are One' Performances

MTV News intern Lindsay Wallace just happens to be Bruce Springsteen's friend and neighbor. She talked with the Boss about his forthcoming Super Bowl performance and his appearance at the Obama inaugural "We Are One" concert earlier this month.

Just days after his latest album, Working on a Dream, hit stores, and just a couple of weeks after his rousing appearance at the "We Are One" concert, Bruce Springsteen is set to play the halftime show at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

"This is a really busy month," Springsteen said, "though I'm more than happy with everything going on. I'm lucky — I don't work, I play."

And to emphasize that point, he's beginning another world tour in April. Springsteen talked a bit about his version of "The Rising" at "We Are One."

"It was truly an experience to be on that stage," he said. "There were people as far as I could see, and the choir behind me sang their hearts out for me. It was a beautiful feeling."

(Check out this shot of Bruce from the "We Are One" rehearsals.)

Of course, the Super Bowl, given its enormous global audience, is a colossal event as well. While Bruce didn't say which songs he's got in mind for the performance, he's aware of just how much emotion and personal connection his audience brings to his songs.

"The thing is, records used to be about telling a story, and that's what I'm great at — and I'm modest about it, too!" he laughed.

Anyone who's seen Bruce and the E Street Band in concert knows just how much they bring to those songs during their high-energy, three-plus-hour-long sets — and they're sure to rock just as hard on Sunday.

MTV News will be all over the Super Bowl's music and movie highlights — be sure to check in on Sunday!

One of winter's annual waiting games is finally over. After days of speculation, false deadlines, more speculation and a totally bogus leaked lineup posted by none other than Ryan Seacrest, the talent roster for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was announced early Friday morning (January 30), and it's full of surprises.

In keeping with a recent trend of major heritage artists headlining on one night (Prince, Roger Waters), former Beatle Paul McCartney will top the bill for the first night of the 10th annual three-day desert fest (April 17-19) at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. It is McCartney's first-ever U.S. festival appearance, in support of his recent release under the Fireman moniker, Electric Arguments.

The Killers have the top-billing honors on the second night, along with a surprising second headliner, troubled British singer Amy Winehouse, who hasn't played a show in the U.S. in more than a year due to her ongoing struggles with drugs and health issues. The final night is topped by goth rock legends the Cure and reunited shoegazer icons My Bloody Valentine.

As always, the wildly eclectic festival will present a wide range of rock, noise, dance and indie acts, including Morrissey to Franz Ferdinand, iconic poet/crooner Leonard Cohen, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, mashup DJ Girl Talk, the Ting Tings, the Hold Steady, TV on the Radio, hush rockers Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes, pummeling metalists Mastodon, drum-and-DJ duo Travis Barker and DJ AM (a.k.a. TRAV$DJ-AM), buzzy Glaswegian rockers Glasvegas, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, possibly retiring rapper Lupe Fiasco, hip-hop legends Public Enemy and Swedish dance/trance queen Lykke Li.

Rihanna, Fall Out Boy Kick Off Super Bowl Weekend With Pepsi Smash Show

Just what exactly does Barbadian R&B pop queen Rihanna have to do with the Super Bowl? About as much as Fall Out Boy. Yet there both acts were, playing to a hyped-up crowd on Thursday night at Tampa's Ford Amphitheater for the VH1-broadcast Pepsi Super Bowl Smash show that served as the unofficial kickoff of Super Bowl XLIII weekend.

The one-hour special, hosted for the second year by easily excited actor Jerry O'Connell and a series of NFL guests, kicked off with a mini-set from FOB. The band stormed out to play "I Don't Care" with their new signature LED-flickering guitars on a huge stage that featured a massive screen with a seizure-inducing series of black-and-white strobe patterns. The band didn't say much as they plowed into their new single, "America's Suitehearts," during which they were backed by multiple giant red, white and blue images of singer Patrick Stump. At one point, bassist Pete Wentz tossed aside his instrument and leaned out into the crowd to high-five some of the screaming girls down front.

Meat-and-potatoes rockers Lifehouse followed with a mid-show set that included their recent singles "First Time" and "Broken." Rihanna closed the broadcast, wearing an all-black outfit that was a mixture of bondage gear and a space-age hockey uniform as she performed a string of her hits.

The set opened with a series of images on the big screen giving way to Ri-Ri appearing at the top of a set of stairs wearing thigh-high boots, a black bikini top with a high-waisted bottom and a black overcoat adorned with hanging straps. As she's done often live, she spiked a hard-rocking take on goth pop single "Disturbia" with a bit of the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" as flames shot up across the front of the stage.

She then dove straight into "Breakin' Dishes" without taking a breath, joined by a pair of backup dancers with legs up to there wearing black leather jackets, red bikini tops and black hot pants that matched Rihanna's.

After some more football-related banter from O'Connell, Rihanna closed the show with a slow-grind take through "Rehab" and an amped-up "Shut Up and Drive," which featured a chair dance, lots of funky wah-wah and screaming guitar solos, and graphics of spinning rims and neon speed gauges on the mega screens.

50 Cent Responds To Rick Ross With 'Officer Ricky' Track

Posted: 30 Jan 2009 06:23 AM PST

New record alludes to Ross' alleged prison-guard past, also calls out Lil Wayne.
By Shaheem Reid

50 Cent, what took you so long? Almost five days have gone since Rick Ross came out with "Mafia Music," which talks about Fif and the mother of his child.

"I love to pay ya bills, can't wait to pay ya rent/ Curtis Jackson baby mama, I ain't looking for a cent/ Burn the house down," the husky Miami MC rapped on the record, referring to the last year's Ross' alleged prison-guard past and the rumors of a marriage between him and Foxy Brown. 50 later calls Brown a "bimbo."

"Must've thought he knocked me out like Kimbo," the G-Unit General adds. "Officer Ricky radio for backup/ See your a-- anyway, you know I'm gonna act up/ You wanna play with me when I don't wanna play?/ Have my n---as whip the skin off your a-- in broad day/ Screaming, 'Boss,' n---a , you ain't a boss/ Pu--- n---a, you're lost/ Listen, Officer Ross."

As the record comes to a close, in classic 50 fashion, the Queens-bred icon talks over the beat, saying that if Wayne wants to battle Eminem, he has to come through him first.

"This n---a is an appetizer," 50 says of his new beef with Rick Ross. "Where you at, Wayne? You're the full course meal, Wayne. You awfully quiet."

50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct was slated to come out in early February. It has since been pushed back, and no new release date has been announced. Besides "Mafia Music," Rick Ross also released his single "I'm the Magnificent," which features John Legend. Ross' new album Deeper Than Rap should be out sometime this spring.

Dawn Richard Says Diddy 'Angry' Over Danity Kane Split

Posted: 30 Jan 2009 05:00 AM PST

Singer denies rumor that Puff is setting her up for solo career.
By Jocelyn Vena

Dawn Richard
Photo: MTV News

After revealing the surprising news that Diddy's hugely popular girl group Danity Kane had split, Dawn Richard still couldn't find the words to express her own feelings about the breakup.

"I'm shocked," she said of Danity Kane's dissolution, which has saddened and angered fans. "You can tell by my answers — I really don't have them. It's devastating to talk about this over and over again. It is crazy! It doesn't even make sense. I still can't understand it."

Richard insisted that she can't speak for the other girls and doesn't know where they stand on trying to make it work again. "The last time I tried to speak for someone," she said, "they blew it up the wrong way."

Diddy invited all the girls back for the upcoming season of "Making the Band," Richard explained, because he always puts business before any personal problems he has with someone. "Puff's a businessman," she said. "Puff knows what's smart. No matter how much beef you have, [you put it aside] for your business. He knew we have a big fanbase. We got to get this stuff fixed. That's why he kept trying to fix it. We thought everyone was coming back, or at least trying."

She even touched on the rumors that Diddy kicked Aubrey O'Day and D. Woods out of the group last October in order to set Richard up for a solo career. She said that since she doesn't even know if she has any career at this point, that is the furthest thing from the truth.

"No one is in cahoots with Puff," she said. "Puff is in cahoots with himself. Everyone who knows Puff knows Puff rolls with himself. His hustle is money. That's what he does. I'm just devastated. I wish the rumors were true."

She's hoping that Diddy will recognize since she was one of the few willing to try to make Danity Kane work that he'll give her another chance. "Puff only hangs with people who break their necks," she said. "I don't think he's even on that tip yet [regarding a solo career]. He just wants to see how great I can be at what he tells me to be great at, and that's what a businessman does. He wants his employees to be the best.

"It makes you great 'cause it challenges you," she added. "I want to learn. I want to be where he is mentally because if you can be there, you have mastered this interest. And that's brilliant. I want to be here. I'm trying to stay here. I thought everybody was on that plan."

At the end of the day, though, it might be a little bit more than just business for Diddy. It seems that he's pretty upset by the whole situation as well.

"I think he's devastated. I think he thought people would get over it 'cause he's a man," Richard said. "He's just confused. I think that's what makes him crazy the most. He's like, 'I'm the master of all of this, and they totally pulled the wool.' I think he's bitter and angry."

Viewers can see everything unfold on the next season of "Making the Band," which premieres on February 12.

Super Bowl Music Lineup: Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Diddy Get In The Game

Between the commercials, the halftime extravaganza and lingerie-clad counter-programming, it's hard to remember that the reason the Super Bowl is the most-watched TV event of the year is because of, you know, the football game.

Music has increasingly become the biggest distraction from the gridiron action, and this year, that's truer than ever, with a Grammy-night-worthy roster of acts lining up to get a bit of shine on football's biggest day.

There is, of course, the prime-time halftime slot, which has become a haven for classic-rock acts, with one of the biggest one taking the stage this year: the Boss. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will run onto the field between halves — two days before their latest album, Working on a Dream, drops — but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Faith Hill will sing "America the Beautiful" before the game on Sunday, and Jennifer Hudson will give her first public performance since the murders of her mother, brother and nephew when she sings that national anthem at the game.

On Thursday, the Pepsi Smash concert will air live from the Ford Amphitheatre on VH1, with sets from Rihanna, Fall Out Boy and Lifehouse, with actor Jerry O'Connell hosting. The next night, Enrique Iglesias will headline Pepsi Musica Super Bowl Fiesta at the Ford on Telemundo, which will air Saturday. Friday night will also bring the Miller Lite Super Party in St. Petersburg at Williams Park starring Hoobastank, and the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration at the USF Sun Dome.

Saturday night boasts the Hard Rock Hotel's Rock & Soul Super Saturday Night show featuring the ubiquitous Will.I.Am and DJ Ruckus, with possible appearances by invited guests including Paris Hilton, Brody Jenner and the Kardashians.

That's not to be confused with the Seminole Hard Rock Revolution party on Friday night, hosted by "Entourage" star Kevin "Johnny Drama" Dillon and Khloe Kardashian, with music from DJs Colleen Shannon and Selfborn.

If you're in Florida, you gotta see Flo Rida, right? You're in luck, because the "Low" rapper is playing at the Green Iguana in Tampa as part of a Low Dough Pregame Show. Celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson will take to the decks at another Green Iguana outlet in Tampa, in the Westshore Hotel, following the game for a Celebrity Postgame Show, and Tampa's Club Underground is promoting the I Am Legend Super Bowl party, hosted by Jay-Z, on Saturday night.

Not to be outdone, Diddy, NFL legend Deion Sanders and boxer Winky Wright are hosting what's being called a three-day, star-studded party leading up the game called the Good Life Experience at the Venue in St. Petersburg from January 29-31. Among the guests promised to drop by are comedian Dane Cook and football legend Warren Sapp, and Diddy is set to host the final night's events, called the Icons of the Good Life Diamonds and Pearls Gala.

And just like you can't have a party without Will.I.Am, you can't host an event without the equally everywhere-at-once Dave Navarro, who will be MCing the Rock-N-Babes gig at the Hula Bay Club in Tampa on Saturday with J-Mello. Another party staple, DJ AM, will be spinning with DJ Jazzy Jeff at a Super Bowl kickoff party at AJA on Thursday night in Tampa. Journey and John Legend will also be part of the pregame festivities, performing adjacent to Raymond James Stadium at 5:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Some other random acts making the scene: DJ Kid Capri at the 2009 Players After Party; Cheap Trick singer Robin Zander at the Band Together charity show on Saturday at the Sirata Beach Resort in St. Petersburg; actor Kevin Costner with his band, Modern West, at the Super Sunday HQ party on Saturday night at TPepin Hospitality Centre with New York Giants legend Michael Strahan; Nelly and Jermaine Dupri co-hosting the Under the Veil 2 party on Saturday night at the Museum of Science and Industry; and Nick Lachey teaming up with NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson for the Super Skins Party at the Hula Bay Club in Tampa on Friday, followed by the Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic the next day.

We'd be remiss if we didn't mention that Snoop Dogg is performing at the Anheuser-Busch-sponsored pregame Bud Bowl concert at Channelside in Tampa on Friday night, with 3 Doors Down playing the next night.

Danity Kane Split Saddens And Angers Fans

Posted: 29 Jan 2009 08:29 AM PST

Some DK followers tried to find someone to blame, others hope for a reunion.

After Dawn Richard broke the news to us on Wednesday that as of now, Danity Kane are no longer a group, fans hit up MTVNews.com expressing all sorts of outrage and sadness over the breakup.

Richard told MTV News that despite the fact that Diddy kicked Aubrey O'Day and D.Woods out of the group last season, leaving only Shannon Bex, Richard and Aundrea Fimbres in the group, he was willing to have all the girls come back for the new season of "Making the Band" (premiering on February 12). But when Richard showed up to tape the show she was surprised to learn that Bex decided not to return either. Fimbres and Richard were left to fend for themselves.

Danity Kane's loyal fanbase, of course, is still reeling from the news. "I can't believe it," Chopper commented on the article about the news. "That's all I can say!"

Shiningstar20 added, "The most heartbreaking thing of life." "I'm so upset right now," jerrell_2 said. "It doesn't make sense to watch the new season of 'Making the Band.' "

Although Richard was quick to point out that no one is to blame for everything that's happened in the group, DK's ardent followers aren't shy about expressing who they think may have had a hand in the band's demise.

"Shannon that was hard mean," Snoopy wrote. "I thought they were your girls. I hope Drea moves on and goes solo, since the group is no more. I wish Dawn success too. Those two were the only ones really down for DK."

Meanwhile, renee9072 asked, "Am I the only person that finds it interesting that over the last two seasons of 'MTB' there was very little footage (if any) of Shannon hanging out with Aubs or Wanita [D. Woods]? Yet on the finale, she was holding onto Aubs' hand for dear life. The only time I saw Shannon with Aubs and Wanita is when all five group members were present. I don't think Shannon is as innocent in all this as she is made out to be. As my friend would say, something in the milk ain't clean."

Some wanted to shoot the messenger upon hearing the news. "Ehhhhh, I was never really feeling Dawn," itsme23 wrote. "And I'm def not feeling her now."

Other fans are supportive of Richard for clearing up the status of the group: "I was a fan of DK, however, being that Dawn was the most fly, most talented and clearly the most loyal I'M ROLLING WITH DAWN," fatand2cute wrote. "So, I look forward to buying 10 CDs because I'm no fickle fan. Dawn's solo album coming soon!"

And in a more constructive message, one fan proposed a game plan for the group. "Can't they just reunite without Diddy interfering?" MPT wondered.

Young Jeezy Slams Bill O'Reilly, Bernard Madoff In New 'My President' Verse

Jeezy calls the conservative commentator 'racist' in his latest version of the Jay-Z-powered remix.

Young Jeezy might wanna think about changing his nickname from the Snowman to the Populist.

The Atlanta rapper debuted a new verse for the Jay-Z-powered "My President" remix on Thursday (January 29). In the verse, Jeezy takes aim at Bernie Madoff, Dennis Miller and Bill O'Reilly. Last week, O'Reilly and "O'Reilly Factor" guest Miller took Jeezy to task for the song, which they characterized as being filled with "hate." Miller, in particular, poked fun at the rapper, going as far as purposely mispronouncing his name several times.

Jeezy didn't take the comments lightly, saying he "had to say what's on my mind like Oprah."

"Bill O'Reilly, eat a di--, nice try/ You're really being a racist a--hole in a nice tie/ And tell Dennis Miller his show suck anyway, and I'd rather watch Jimmy Kimmel any day," Jeezy raps on the new verse.

The remix starts with Jay-Z's verse, which was first heard in Washington, D.C., during the inauguration festivities. Jay joined Jeezy onstage at Club Love to premiere his version. His verse is filled with references to President Barack Obama's racist detractors and takes a swipe at former President George W. Bush.

On his show, O'Reilly said Jay-Z should know better. The conservative commentator casually mentioned that Jeezy might later appear on his show, though he wasn't clear if his invitation was genuine or not. A rep for the rapper told MTV News earlier this week that Jeezy would not accept O'Reilly's invite. A producer for "The O'Reilly Factor" told MTV News that the offer still stands.

Toward the end of the "My President" remix, Jeezy defends the song's intent and then takes aim at Bernard Madoff, the investment executive who scammed Americans out of millions.

"My president is black, my BlackBerry is too, though," Jeezy said. "This is not a race song, it's a remix/ So, I'mma say this, seems like I'm the only one that's not afraid to say Bush f---ed up/ He left a lot of people out here bad/ Matter of fact, you need to call Bernard Madoff yourself/ And tell him, 'Bring your punk ass up out that penthouse. We need that money back.' "

The-Dream Calls Rumors About His Relationship With Christina Milian 'Real Cute'

Singer insists their bond is all business.

NEW YORK -- Hey, if it worked for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, maybe it can work for The-Dream and Christina Milian.

Pictures of the two singers attending a birthday party for a Def Jam executive Wednesday night popped up online Thursday (January 29), and speculation began about whether the pair were a new item. He says no, but his body language at the Thompson Hotel shindig in Manhattan says otherwise.

Pitt and Jolie drew plenty of attention during promotion of their movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" after photos of them from a W magazine shoot hit the Web, and the film went on to earn plenty of money.

According to The-Dream, though, his union with Milian is all business, not personal. He said his production company will be partnering with the actress/singer.

"Yeah, it's a new Radio Killa thing that we have," he coyly told MTV News on Thursday afternoon. "Um, actually, what happened was, I think about a month ago, I think I sat with her. It was one of these things where [when] you try to grow an artist, you can either grow them from the ground or you can come in and say, 'This artist needs this, that's all.' And that part of me I have, which is what she didn't have."

The-Dream said he called Milian's label head, Jimmy Iovine, and the executive told him he can have his pick of artists on the roster to work with. The singer selected Milian in a process he says was like being "in a store, and, uh, I'll take that one."

He reiterated that the burgeoning pact is based in business, but he doesn't mind the rumors. The singer, who previewed his upcoming album Love vs. Money to the media Wednesday night, is putting the final touches on his project. The LP is due March 10, so he has some promoting to do.

"I love the attention," he said. "It's great, it's cool, it's real cute."

Milian most recently was in a relationship with music producer Dre of Cool & Dre. It's unclear when the two split or if they called it off. A rep for the Miami-based musician had no comment when contacted by MTV News.

Day26 Are 'Hurt' By Danity Kane Breakup

'It hurt all of us, 'cause we were family,' Qwanell Mosley says of 'Making the Band' co-stars.

Just a day after Dawn Richard broke the news that Danity Kane are over for good, Day26 said they might know why the ladies couldn't resolve their issues: They weren't honest with themselves and their fans.

"I think even with the Danity Kane situation, I think they kept things secret to the public," Will Taylor told MTV News while in the studio working on the band's new album. "So their breakup was a big surprise. That takes a lot to keep all that bottled up inside, and they exploded to the point they can never return."

He also wasn't surprised to learn that Shannon Bex, who at the end of last season was one of the three remaining members of the band, didn't return to continue working with the group for this upcoming season of "Making the Band."

"Shannon wanted to be all five," he said. "She wanted to be Danity Kane. She had a whole 'nother life. So at the end of the day, she said she wasn't going to come."

Meanwhile, Will's bandmate Qwanell "Que" Mosley is still pretty perplexed as to what exactly happened to Bex that made her not want to try again. "I don't even know what happened to that," he said. "It hurt all of us, 'cause we were family. It hurts, and we're human. We were family, and when your family does shady stuff and they don't apologize for it or fix it, it's like, 'Damn.' "

Kanye West Sounds Off About Himself (Again) In E-Mail To Media

In the wake of a hateful e-mail circulated under his name on Wednesday, West writes e-mail about his Paris trip.

Some bloggers and fans have lambasted Kanye West this week for sending out a playful vlog where he called himself "Martin Louie the King Jr.," but that was probably just Kanye having fun. But in the wake of a hateful e-mail that was falsely circulated under his name late Wednesday (which we're not going to recap here), on Thursday he sent out an e-mail message to the media, in which he talked about his recent trip to the Paris fashion shows.

In his usual all-caps blogging style, which we've put into normal case for readability, West wrote that he feels like the embodiment of nuclear energy, and the trip has not only inspired his fashion, but music, stage designs and outlook on life.

"I always feel my best work is my next work," he wrote. "I've made some good choices and some mistakes. I've been loved and hated. I've been hailed and ridiculed. I've been invited to shows and as usual asked not to come. ... I've been attacked for being me. For being bright red in a grey world ... When encapsulated in an idea or box like a stage or shoe design, I create magic."

In Paris, 'Ye debuted a sneaker he designed for Louis Vuitton. As the e-mail continued, he acknowledged that he isn't perfect and cannot live his life trying to be "Christ Like." He also wrote about learning from and taking responsibility for his mistakes. He will not conform, however.

"Life is a game!" he declared. "If everyone understood what I was doing when I was doing it, there would be no challenge therefore no game. It is the crack in the wall that allows light to shine through. ... Thank you to anyone who thrives on the downfall of others, for I will not fall! Your pessimism is my power. Your presumptions lead to my redemptions.

"I have lost everything so I am fearless," he added. "You obviously don't know who you're up against. I will spark a generation of thinkers who will question traditional thought until they find the absolute truth. Thank you for giving me someone to prove wrong as I have done for my entire life. You feel the world will never change. You feel misery is the only company and I am here to prove you all wrong. ... Thank you, Paris, once again for allowing me access to the greatest artists and designers this earth has to offer. ... Thank you for the invitation because genius loves company."

Jennifer Hudson's label has released photos from her forthcoming video for the single "If It Isn't Love," from her recent self-titled LP. The clip is set to premiere the week of February 9.

The filming marks the beginning of a busy stretch for Hudson, whose mother, brother and nephew were tragically murdered last fall. She's singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday and is performing at the Grammy Awards the following weekend.

Hudson is nominated for four Grammys, including Best R&B Album. Hudson released a statement last month calling the nods "truly a blessing. ... I'm extremely honored and humbled by the nominations."

The clip for "If It Isn't Love" was reportedly set to film last month, but a source told UsMagazine.com that Hudson wasn't ready, in the wake of the tragedy. However, an unnamed spokesperson for Hudson later said that the plans for the video were never set in stone. "The video shoot was never confirmed, so there was nothing to cancel," the spokesperson said.

Will Lil Wayne grab all the gramophones? Is Katy Perry going to tell her girl rivals to kiss off? Can Coldplay march off with a win? MTV News is all over the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, so stay tuned for interviews, analysis and more before, during and after the big night, Sunday, February 8.
